1. Update: US Cuts Rate- US, IMF Open New Liquidity Windows
- AFP

The US Federal Reserve sliced its key interest rate another 0.5 percentage points to 1.0 percent Wednesday, as signs emerged of thawing credit markets around the world.

· Father, as the US desperately searches for a way through this economic crisis, we ask Your mercy over our nation and Your people. Our only right standing with You is the Blood of Your Son Jesus, and so we come boldly before Your throne to ask for wisdom, grace, and mercy to guide us through this time.

· "Let us therefore come boldly before the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need." (Hebrews 4:16)

2. Nebraska Plans to Amend "Safe Haven" Law - Washington Post

Deciding he could wait no longer to address what has become a state embarrassment, Gov. Dave Heineman (R) said Wednesday, that he will call a special legislative session to amend Nebraska's loosely worded "safe haven" law, which in just a few months has allowed parents to abandon nearly two dozen children as old as 17.

· Lord, grant all the states wisdom in the search to balance the safety of unwanted children with responsibility and accountability for the parents.

· "In the fear of the Lord is strong confidence; and His children shall have a place of refuge." (Proverbs 14:26)

3. Ex-CIA Expert: Obama Took Millions in Illegal Foreign Donations - NewsMax.com

Newsmax investigation of Obama/Biden campaign contributors has discovered dozens who appear to lack U.S. citizenship or residency-a violation of federal law. But that may only be the tip of the iceberg. Some donors work for foreign governments, and others are quite open about being citizens of countries like Nigeria, Pakistan and Canada.

· Lord, we pray that this information be brought into the general media and properly reported. We ask that an immediate investigation be launched, and that Your justice will prevail.

· "Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit." (Matthew 7:17)

4. Obama Goes Prime Time- McCain Goes After Obama - Washington Times

Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama plunked down $4 million for a campaign-closing television ad Wednesday night, and summoned voters to "choose hope over fear and unity over division" in Tuesday's election. Republican John McCain derided the event as a "gauzy, feel-good commercial," paid for with broken promises.

· Lord, it is in You that we place our trust, not in the money being spent by this campaign, not by the advertisements, polls or news media.

· "And all this assembly shall know that the Lord saveth not with sword and spear; for the battle is the Lord's and He will give you into our hands." (1 Samuel 17:47)

5. LA Times Refuses Release Tape of Obama Praising Controversial Activist - Fox News

The Los Angeles Times is refusing to release a videotape that it says shows Barack Obama praising a Chicago professor who was an alleged mouthpiece for the Palestine Liberation Organization while it was a designated terrorist group in the 1970s and '80s.

· Lord, we pray that You will cause the LA Times to release this tape prior to election day, that all hidden secrets will be exposed.

· "People may cover their hatred with pleasant words, but they're deceiving you. They pretend to be kind, but don't believe them. Their hearts are full of many evils." (Proverbs 26:23-24) NLT

6. American Muslims Urged to turn Out in Big Numbers on Election Day - CNSNews.com

An Islamic advocacy group is urging American Muslims to respond to "anti-Muslim hysteria" by turning out in large numbers at the polls on Election Day. The Council on American-Islamic Relations is not endorsing any candidate, but in its get-out-the-vote message, it criticizes a few Republicans and no Democrats.

· Father, we pray that You will bring Your church to the polls in record numbers, and may they vote with Your wisdom, not with a lack of knowledge. We pray that they will not reject You at this critical time.

· "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge;" (Hosea 4:6a)

THE ECONOMY IN CRISIS

For all the headlines below, we lift up this prayer today: Lord, we join together in thanking You for Your grace in this time of financial questions and we pray for Your continuing peace over the spirits of the people of this nation.

Make sure that your character is free from the love of money, being content with what you have; for He Himself has said, "I will never desert you, nor will I ever forsake you," so that we confidently say, "The Lord is my helper, I will not be afraid. What will man do to me?" (Hebrews 13:5-6)

2. Economy Contracts 0.3% in Third Quarter - Fox News

The U.S. economy contracted in the third quarter, marred primarily by the weakest consumer spending in nearly three decades, the Commerce Department reported Thursday. It marks the first of what many economists say will be two or more quarters of negative growth. Two consecutive negative-growth quarters are needed for economists to officially declare a recession.

3. Report: AIG Burning Through Fed's $123B in Loans - Fox News

American International Group (AIG: 1.63, +0.08, +5.16%) may have gotten $123 billion in emergency loans from the Federal Reserve, but the New York Times reported on Thursday that the company was using up that money so quickly it was raising questions about whether some of the shortfall might have been lurking in its books all along, "hidden by irregular accounting."

4. Russian Stocks Surge Nearly 20% - Market Watch

Russian stocks surged on Thursday, with the RTS index jumping nearly 18% and the MICEX index rising by more than 19%, with investors cheering international measures to provide funds to emerging markets and expecting more measures to be announced by Moscow.

Children At Risk

My friends, if you need a reminder about what is at stake in this election, go right now to
www.citizenlink.org and listen to Dr. James Dobson's broadcast on same-sex "marriage" and socialism. Dr. Dobson's guests were David and Tonia Parker and Ravi Zacharias. For those not familiar with David Parker's story, he spent a night in jail and was hauled before a court in handcuffs for trying to protect his five- year-old son from homosexual indoctrination in the Massachusetts public schools after that state's Supreme Court ordered same-sex "marriage" by judicial fiat.

That is what is at stake in six days - our children. Unelected judges are redefining our cherished values, threatening religious liberty and allowing militant activists to indoctrinate your children in the name of "diversity." I know every parent would risk going to jail to defend their kids. But I am praying that millions of people will go to the polls to defend their values on November 4th so that won't be necessary!

Election Money

In this time of economic stability we hear much in this presidential campaign about how we need more money to go to the poor and the middle-class. This concept has come from both campaigns and has become the rallying cry of the American people. We have also seen a $700 billion rescue loan (bail-out) that passed Congress after being pushed on an American public that originally disliked the idea. There is one source of cash that could have been better spent in this election season, the campaigns of the presidential candidates.

The amount of money that has been spent is mind- boggling. According to the FEC website, all presidential candidates together have raised $1.54 billion dollars ($1,540,773,326 to be exact) as of October 15, 2008. Of that money, $1.45 billion has been spent. Barack Obama has raised $521.8 million and spent $498.0 million. As of October 15 he has $63.4 million cash on hand minus his debt. John McCain has raised $368.8 million and spent $308.6 million. He has $64.9 million on hand minus his debt. Where does that money come from? Since the 2000 presidential campaign season, George Soros of the Soros Fund Management has given $3.16 million to various political organizations and Peter Lewis of Progressive Insurance has given $2.7 million. These two men gave over $2 million to MoveOn.com alone. An examination of self-identified journalists shows that they gave $150,159 to groups that were specifically Democratic and $20,425 to groups whose titles included some variation of the word Republican. The total for the journalists does not include any money given to specific candidates or various other advocacy groups, only to groups with specific party nomenclature.

This examination of the money trail does not take into account the widely spread practice of large donors giving equal amounts in their spouses' and children's names. How much more money is flowing from the households of these large donors as well. We must consider whether the people purporting to speak for the poor should use some of the obscene amounts of money raised toward programs that would help the poor and not just toward getting elected. With this much money flowing, what do these donors expect in return? For more information visit
www.fec.gov where you can find the specifics of what money has been given and who has been giving it.

Another Obama Scandal

Don't hold your breath, folks, but maybe, just maybe the media are beginning to do their jobs. With just six days left before the election, I noticed an article on page two of the Washington Post that was mildly critical of Barack Obama. Evidently, Barack Obama's campaign, which has raised record sums of money after Obama broke his early promise to accept public financing, has another fundraising scandal on its hands. We have reported that Obama has had to return tens of thousands of illegal donations from the Gaza Strip and has raised an extraordinary amount of money from fictitious donors. Today's Post report also noted the example of Mary Biskup, a retiree who has never donated a dime to Obama. But according to Obama's own FEC report, Biskup donated $174,800 to Barack Obama's campaign, even though individual donors are limited to a maximum of $4,600 to a single candidate for both the primary and general elections. (Perhaps the folks at ACORN are also handling Obama's fundraising!)

Well, today the Washington Post reports that the Obama campaign has been accepting contributions from pre-paid credit cards, like the kind you can buy at a 7-11 or any convenience store. The problem with accepting these cards, as the Post explains, is that they are untraceable and "could potentially be used to evade limits on how much an individual is legally allowed to give or to mask a contributor's identity." Where is the Barack Obama the media endorsed six months ago? Barack was supposed to be the post- partisan candidate of change who was going to rise above the rancor and lead us into in the promised land of milk and honey, hope and unity. He was going to bring peace to the world and even stop the rise of the oceans. He promised a clean campaign. He promised to accept public financing and to be free of the corrupting influence of big money.

Instead, after going through the longest campaign in history, all I see is a far left Chicago liberal who bought his house with help from a convicted felon, who worshipped in the church of a crazed pastor who cursed our country and whose friendships include way too many anti-American radicals and terrorist sympathizers. And now, far from offering us hope, he is offering us socialism, and his campaign is riddled with scandals. In all seriousness, my friends, this really is no laughing matter. The Left means to change America in ways you can't imagine, and it intends to destroy the conservative, pro-family movement. And from the antics of ACORN to the highly questionable and illegal fundraising practices of the Obama campaign, the ends evidently justify the means. . .

The Daily Brief Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2008

"And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose." (Romans 8:28)

The Daily Brief

1. Obama Citizenship Case Appealing to the Supreme Court - Worthy News.com

Philip J. Berg, Esquire, the Attorney who filed suit against Barack H. Obama, challenging Senator Obama's lack of "qualifications" to serve as President of the United States, announced today that he is immediately appealing the dismissal of his case to the United States Supreme Court. The case is Berg v. Obama, No. 08-cv-04083.This is a question of who has standing to uphold our Constitution. If I don't have standing, if you don't have standing, if your neighbor doesn't have standing to question the eligibility of an individual to be President of the United States - the Commander-in-Chief, the most powerful person in the world - then who does? So, anyone can just claim to be eligible for congress or the presidency without having their legal status, age or citizenship questioned.

· Pray that Philip Berg's lawsuit will be heard by the Supreme Court - this week. Pray also for the mind of the Pennsylvania judge who denied Berg's right to challenge the eligibility of Sen. Obama's citizenship for presidency and ask the Lord to expose this question of citizenship to the full American public. Only the Lord's hand behind this message will enable Americans to accept the truth; otherwise political manipulation will be charged.

· "Be Thou exalted, Lord, in Thine own strength: so will we sing and praise Thy power." (Psalm 21:13)

2. MSA Chapter Official: Don't Vote; Destroy - IPTNews

In the final days of the 2008 Presidential election season - with just 6 days now remaining until voters cast their ballots - both campaigns are carefully maneuvering to gain an edge, while still others are singularly focused on just "getting out the vote." Regardless of the outcome desired by these activists, there seems to be one unified message across the American political spectrum these days: Participate in our democratic system. However, one college's Muslim student organization has sought to air a completely different message regarding the election: that of the Islamists. A student named Farhad Akbari posted an essay on the internal Yahoo! Group of the Muslim Student Association (MSA) at San Diego Mesa College on October 14. In his post, "The Issue of Voting," Akbari delves into the election, warning his fellow group members of the fate in store for those who cast a ballot for "a person who fights Islam, governs contrary to Islam, and is himself a kafir [infidel or unbeliever] " Akbari does not reserve this treatment for any specific candidate. Rather, he holds both major party candidates in equal regard.(read more)

· Since Mr. Akbari holds views so contrary to the principles of our republic, one wonders what he is doing in the USA. Why would he and others of his ilk want to attend an American university? Pray for this student and his fellows so that they may live in a land that follows Moslem law. Pray for American colleges so that they will be more discerning about those whom they matriculate. Pray for the salvation in Jesus Christ of all those involved.

· "He shall redeem their soul from deceit and violence: and precious shall their blood be in His sight." (Psalm 72:14)

3.Stocks were sharply higher Wednesday afternoon as the markets bet the Federal Reserve will unveil another interest rate cut. - FOXBusiness

As of 1:45 p.m. EDT, Wed., Oct. 29,2008, the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 116.04 points, or 1.28%, to 9181.56, the broader S&P 500 added 10.73 points, or 1.14%, to 951.24 and the Nasdaq Composite picked up 23.22 points, or 1.41%, to 1672.69. The consumer-friendly FOX 50 gained 3.80 points, or 0.52%, to 733.84. Yesterday's DOW closed 900 points above last Friday. The Federal Reserve Board did cut interest rates by ½ points to encourage buying.

· Ask the Lord if this latest move by the Federal Reserve Board is His desire to help our economy. What we all know is that tithing brings God's blessing upon a nation as well as following righteous standards for living. We need repentance for our sins in this nation more that some agency that is not under the jurisdiction of the Congress.

· "I cried unto God with my voice, even unto God with my voice; and He gave ear unto me." (Psalm 77:1)

4. Obama Gets Support From Gaza Strip - CNS News

A Palestinian student in the Gaza Strip is spending his nights making phone calls to the United States, urging Americans to vote for Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama, according to Palestinian media.

· Pray that Sen. Obama publicly renounces any help from Moslem believers/countries, as illegal and un-American, showing written documents backing up his rhetoric. Where is this student getting his money to make so many long distance calls from the Middle East? Why is the Palestinian media bragging about this student's telephone calls? Pray that the Lord exposes all truth.

· "Woe to them that devise iniquity and work evil upon their beds! When the morning is light, they practice it, because it is in the power of their hands." (Micah 2:1)

5. U.S. Official: Unclear If Al Qaeda Coordinator Killed in Syria Raid - Fox News

An Al Qaeda coordinator in Syria who was wanted for sending operatives, weapons and cash into Iraq was captured during a U.S. strike, but it was not clear whether or not he survived, a senior U.S. military official told FOX News.

· Praise the Lord that a nest of vipers has been wiped out from sending weapons into Iraq to destroy Americans and foment rebellion among the Iraqi people. If this leader has not been killed, ask the Lord to reveal his position and to bring him to justice. Ask the Lord to protect the Syrian people who have nothing to do with the machinations of their president, Bashar Assad.

· "Everyone that is proud in heart is an abomination to the Lord: though hand join in hand, he shall not be unpunished." (Proverbs 16:5)

6. U.S. Mulls Talks With Taliban in Bid to Quell Afghan Unrest Gen. Petraeus Backs Effort to Win Over Some Elements of Group - US News

The U.S. is actively considering talks with elements of the Taliban, the armed Islamist group that once ruled Afghanistan and sheltered al Qaeda, in a major policy shift that would have been unthinkable a few months ago. Senior White House and military officials believe that engaging some levels of the Taliban -- while excluding top leaders -- could help reverse a pronounced downward spiral in Afghanistan and neighboring Pakistan. Both countries have been destabilized by a recent wave of violence. The outreach is a draft recommendation in a classified White House assessment of U.S. strategy in Afghanistan, according to senior Bush administration officials. The officials said that the recommendation calls for the talks to be led by the Afghan central government, but with the active participation of the U.S. The idea is supported by Gen. David Petraeus, who will assume responsibility this week for U.S. policy in Afghanistan and Pakistan.

· Pray that this issue be according to the Lord's will - either He blesses the plan or He brings it to confusion. Whatever the case, pray that negotiators look at every aspect of talks with wise eyes that are not deceived by clever rhetoric nor promises made without any intention of being fulfilled.

· "Wisdom resteth in the heart of him that hath understanding: but that which is in the midst of fools is made known." (Proverbs 14:13)

The Daily Brief

1. Air Force Revamping Oversight of Nuclear Arsenal After Embarrassing Missteps - Fox News

The idea for a new, separate command stemmed from a recent highly critical report that concluded there has been a decline in the Air Force's focus on its nuclear mission, the performance of those who carry it out, the failure of its leaders to respond effectively.

· Heavenly Father, we come to You praying for our leaders who have authority over our safety. We pray that our guard will not be down and that everyone involved with security will be vigilant over our national defense.

· But the Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one. (2 Thessalonians 3:3)

2. Effigy of Sarah Palin hanging by a noose creates uproar in West Hollywood - Los Angeles Times

A West Hollywood Halloween display showing a likeness of Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin hanging by a noose, has caused a furor among some residents who reported it as a hate crime, authorities said Monday. West Hollywood Mayor Jeffrey Prang said although he recognizes residents' right to free speech, he found the display problematic and felt it should be removed.

· With death threats to Obama, Palin, campaign volunteers and pollsters, we pray that You, Lord, will give our nation's citizens Your wisdom, peace, and restraint! We pray that there will be no turmoil, violence, or riots after the election.

· Depart from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it. The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and His ears are open to their cry. (Psalms 34:14, 15) But the meek shall inherit the earth, and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace. (Psalms 37:11)

3 Surprise bounce in existing home sales - Financial Times

The pace of existing home sales in the US rose unexpectedly by 5.5 per cent in September, as sharply lower prices attracted buyers in every part of the country except the north-east. The figures indicate that a bottoming in home sales might be taking hold and that could pave the way for an eventual rebound in the US housing market - the root of the global financial turmoil.

· We praise You, Lord, and we give You thanksgiving for the beginning of the turn-around of our economy! We pray that You will continue to stabilize it, and families will once again see their money safe from inflation and a recession.

· As for every man to whom God has given riches and wealth, and given him power to eat of it, to receive his heritage and rejoice in his labor - this is the gift of God. (Ecclesiastes 5:19)

4. Refiners Look to Reduce Production as Falling Gas Prices Cut Into Profits - Wall Street Journal

As falling gasoline prices squeeze refining profits, there are signs that refiners are ratcheting back production to pare losses. Refining profit margins collapsed, and many companies resorted to production cutbacks, making for some of the lowest operating rates at U.S. refineries in years.

· We continue to pray that You, Lord will give us temperance in our nation over our economy and over avarice and self-indulgence in our lives. Help us to be a righteous nation. We look to You for our provision.

· The earth is the Lord's, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it . . . (Psalms 24:1)

5. Students face punishment for 'Hit a Jew Day' - Ynet News

At least four students from a suburban St. Louis middle school face punishment for allegedly hitting Jewish classmates during what they called "Hit a Jew Day." It began with an unofficial "Spirit Week" among sixth-graders that started harmlessly enough with a "Hug a Friend Day." Then there was "High Five Day." Soon, though, the days moved from friendly to silly. Next there was "Hit a Tall Person Day" and, finally, "Hit a Jew Day."

· Lord, children always need direction. That is why You placed parents and grown-ups in their lives. Let them use this experience to teach children to honor and respect others - especially those who are handicapped or different.

· Now we exhort you, brethren, warn those who are unruly, comfort the fainthearted, uphold the weak, be patient with all. See that no one renders evil for evil to anyone, but always pursue what is good both for yourselves and for all. (1 Thessalonians 5:15)

6. Clergy on both sides of Proposition 8 speak out - LA Times

With the Nov. 4 election fast approaching, rabbis, priests and ministers across California are ratcheting up their public appeals over Proposition 8 - using their religious platforms to alternately highlight the perils of passing or rejecting the same-sex marriage amendment. Some churches have steered clear of the same-sex marriage issue for fear of alienating members.

· Lord, many in our nation have fought for religious freedom in our land against oppression of any sort. We pray there will be no reprisals for pastors speaking what the Bible says are God's truths. Let God's Word reign in our nation.

· So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. Then God blessed them, and God said to them, "Be fruitful and multiply . . . (Genesis 1:27, 28)

And when you see the south wind blow, you say, 'There will be hot weather'; and there is. Hypocrites! You can discern the face of the sky and of the earth, but how is it you do not discern this time? Day of Prayer for the World's Economies

Dear Intercessors, October 29th marks the anniversary of the stock market crash of 1929, after which the great depression ensued. Earlier this year, the Lord reminded me of this, adding that "...Satan wants to do it again!". We must be proactive through prayer! For this reason, I am issuing a worldwide prophetic call to a Day of Prayer for the World's Economies on October 29, 2008.
The Reformation Prayer Network and The Global Day of Prayer in the United States will be joining us in this prayer initiative. Please rally your prayer groups to set themselves upon the wall on October 29, 2008 to intercede for the economic systems of this nation and the nations of world. To facilitate unified global intercession on this day, a prayer guide has been provided below.

Warring for the soul of our nation, Cindy and Mike JacobsCindy JacobsGenerals InternationalThe United States Reformation Prayer Network

"For thus says the Lord of hosts: 'Once more (it is a little while) I will shake heaven and earth, the sea and dry land; and I will shake all nations, and they shall come to the Desire of All Nations, and I will fill this temple [house] with glory,' says the Lord of hosts. 'The silver is Mine, and the gold is Mine,' says the Lord of Hosts." (Haggai 2:6-8)

Update: Proposition 8Prop 8 Rallies the Churches

In rallies across California, pastors and churches are making a powerful statement that traditional marriage is not an issue of race. It's an issue of morality. On Monday, dozens of black ministers turned out in Los Angeles to signal their support for Proposition 8, the state amendment that would ban counterfeit marriage. Down the street, a small counter-protest mustered just three African-American pastors who claimed that homosexual "marriage" is the new civil rights movement.
The pro-8 rally is part of the final push to persuade California voters to protect man-woman marriage in next month's election. The Yes on 8 campaign, whose poll numbers continue to climb, launched a statewide bus tour this week, making stops at key districts and churches to educate Californians on the measure's importance-not just to marriage but also to education and parents' rights.

Florida's Amendment 2, which would also define marriage in the state constitution, faces an equally tough fight. Unlike California's initiative, Amendment 2 needs at least 60% approval to pass. On Monday, it was encouraging to see the enthusiasm for an Orlando rally sponsored by Florida's Family Policy Council. Over 700 Floridians turned out to hear from speakers like me, Bishop Harry Jackson, John Stemberger, and Pastor Clayton Cloer. Keep up the good fight!

He allots our fields to traitors. Therefore, there will be no one in the assembly of the LORD to divide the land by casting lots. (Micah 2:4- 5)

3. Nervous Investors Awaiting Two Big Events Next Week - CNBC

Next week is expected to mark the beginning of the US economy's entry into a recession and the end of the Federal Reserve's conventional monetary policy to remedy the situation. On Wednesday, the Fed's FOMC is widely expected to cut the key federal funds rate another half point, to one percent, in what what many assume will be the end of its aggressive easing campaign. Then on Thursday, GDP data for the third quarter is expected to show the US economy contracted for the first time in seven years, ending months of speculation that the economy had managed to skirt recession, despite a one-of-kind credit crunch.

4. What's Behind the Selloff: Panic Is Turning to Despair - CNBC

After being in panic mode the past few weeks, investors are now wallowing in despair.Stock markets tumbled around the world Friday as investors moved to liquidate risky positions. Mounting evidence of a global recession, born of the worst financial crisis in 80 years, kept most markets volatile. 5. UK Economy Officially On the Brink of Recession - Fox News

Britain's economy shrank between July and September, official figures showed Friday - confirming that the country is on the brink of recession and sending the pound into a dive against the U.S. dollar

The Global Campaign

This year's presidential election is truly historic and has had its share of "firsts." We have the first African American candidate to win a major party's nomination. We have the first female vice presidential candidate on the Republican ticket. And we have the first truly global campaign for the presidency of the United States. During Barack Obama's summer world tour, he was greeted like a rock star in London and Paris. And during his stop-over in Berlin, Obama declared, "Citizens of the world -- this is our moment." Whatever that means. And not only is Obama campaigning around the world, but he's also raising money around the world. For example, the Obama campaign has had to return tens of thousands of dollars from supporters in Gaza. It's been noticed that a lot of contributions to Obama are for odd figures, like $104.59 and so on. Some speculate those figures are the result of currency exchanges.

Now the campaign tactics have gone global as well. There was a report in yesterday's Billings Gazette that Republican officeholders in Montana have been targeted by negative automated phone calls. That's not news. But in what appears to be a campaign first, the calls reportedly originated from Romania! Not only are non-citizens participating in this year's campaign, they may be voting too. Thanks to ACORN, who knows how many illegal aliens were registered to vote this year. In its desperation to win, the Left is making a mockery out of our cherished right to vote -- a right won and protected by the blood of patriots.

Obama believes he has a "righteous wind at his back." I suspect what he's feeling is the righteous indignation of Middle America rising up. Folks are fed up with ACORN, fed up with "Blame America First" radicals like William Ayers and CodePink, fed up with the elite media and fed up with liberal judges redefining marriage. They are fed up with defeatist Democrats like Harry Reid, who said America had lost, and John Murtha, who insulted our brave troops and his own constituents. They are fed up with the Democrat oil embargo, fed up with out of control spending and fed up with socialist "spread the wealth" tax schemes. My friends, this is your country too. Fight for it! Get out there and vote. Vote in record numbers, and give a landslide victory to the candidates that stand in TRUTH. (Source: Gary Bauer; End-of-Day; 10/21/08 - excerpt)

· "Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people." (Proverbs 14:34)

Faith and the Upcoming Elections

Last Friday, Archbishop Charles Chaput spoke about the disservice done by Christian voters who are abandoning the abortion issue. Increasing numbers of churchgoers seem to be adjusting their faith to fit their politics instead of evaluating the candidates through the eyes of their faith. Speaking as a private citizen, Chaput talked about the crisis of conscience in this election. The Archbishop's concern about Christian voters in general and Catholic voters in particular, mirrors concerns by Bible-believing evangelicals that both candidates and liberal activists have been brazen in their efforts to target evangelicals, deliberately sowing confusion, insisting that issues like global warming, government care for the poor, worldwide AIDS, etc., trump the issues of abortion and same-sex marriage. Princeton Professor Robby George, a member of FRC's Board of Directors, has written a definitive article on the issue of abortion and the 2008 election. (Read

Security Threats Related to the Election

Of Divorce, Scandal and Security Threats- America's Presidential Election

Many supporters of Democratic Presidential candidate B. Hussein Obama are angry that Obama's critics continue to draw attention to Obama's associations with former terrorists, communists and socialist voter registration organizations rather than balance their concerns with the failed marriage of Republican opponent John McCain and his association with the 1989 "Keating Five" savings and loan influence scandal. Obama supporters say that Christian moralists should be equally upset of McCain's past life as with that of Obama's. But they fail to see the gravity of Obama's belief system compared with that of McCain.

The relationship between Obama and radical 1960's terrorist Bill Ayers goes far deeper than casual neighbors. Obama sat as the first chairman of Ayers' Chicago Annenberg Challenge, where Obama dispersed over $100 million toward implementing Ayers' education philosophy-indoctrinating students and their parents with a radical political commitment while downplaying achievement tests in favor of activism. Obama also conducted leadership training for the socialist community activist organization, ACORN, whose subsidiary Obama paid over $832,000 this year for get out the vote operations, and many of ACORN's employees are under investigation or already have been indicted on voter registration fraud.

The list of Marxists, socialists and terrorists who Obama associated with prior to his recent bid for the presidency paint a picture of a man who is interested in overthrowing the Constitutional Republic form of government here in America. From Marxist mentor Frank Marshall Davis to black liberation theology racist Jeremiah Wright to terrorist Yassir Arafat's spokesman Rashid Khalidi to ACORN to Ayers, Obama has associated with those dedicating their lives to ending the American way of government. Some say this is guilt by association. But Stanley Kurtz in the Wall Street Journal says its "guilt by participation." There are just too many such associations to ignore the radical, anti-American thread that binds these men.

The Keating Five was an outing of government corruption and influence buying surrounding the 1989 savings and loan crisis. Four Democratic senators and McCain were accused of unethically using their influence to favor one particular savings and loan association. McCain was cleared of wrongdoing by the Senate Ethics Committee. McCain admitted he was wrong. Neither McCain's divorce nor his involvement with the Keating Five was a threat to national security. McCain does not appear to have long term associations with people or organizations interested in overthrowing the government. Proverbs 14:34 says, "Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people." Choose this day whom you will serve.
