Focus on Israel

1. Netanyahu: We must retain full military control of West Bank - Times of Israel

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Tuesday said that Israel must maintain its military control over the West Bank in the event of a peace agreement with the Palestinians.

"The idea that we can give up territory and achieve peace is not right," Netanyahu told Army Radio in a pre-Shavuot holiday interview.

"In order to assure our existence we need to have military and security control over all of the territory west of the Jordan [River]," he said, reaffirming his commitment to a policy that is rejected by Palestinians, who seek a full Israeli withdrawal from the territory.

2. PA asks UN to act against Israeli 'Judaization' - Israel National News

The Palestinian Authority (PA) on Monday urged the UN Security Council to take action to protect Jerusalem from Israeli attempts to "Judaize" the city, the Ma'an news agency reported.

The statement came a day after the Israeli Cabinet held its weekly meeting in the Western Wall tunnels instead of in the Knesset in order to honor Jerusalem Day, which was celebrated last week.

During the meeting, the ministers approved several projects important for Israel's capital, including two projects intended to make the Western Wall more accessible for wheelchairs.

3. PA paid terrorists NIS 1.15 billion in 2016, intelligence official says - Israel Hayom

The Palestinian Authority spent some 1.15 billion shekels ($322 million) on payments to terrorists in 2016, a former Military Intelligence official revealed Monday.

The Palestinian Authority spends millions of dollars annually paying stipends to the families of terrorists who are either jailed in Israel or were killed while carrying out terrorist attacks against Israelis, a practice Israel has repeatedly condemned.

Speaking at a Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee meeting on Palestinian incitement, Brig. Gen. (res.) Yossi Kuperwasser, formerly head of the Military Intelligence Research Division, said that "in 2016, the Palestinian Authority paid 1.15 billion shekels in salaries to terrorists and their families. This amounted to 7% of the Palestinian Authority's total budget for salaries and about 20% of the foreign aid it received."

4. 'Israel is the biggest threat to humanity' - Israel National News

Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani launched a scathing attack on Israel, calling it "aggressive and racist" and saying it will always remain a source of threat to the nations in the Middle East and humanity in general.

Larijani's attack came in a message to Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah, on the 17th anniversary of Israel's withdrawal from southern Lebanon.

"The multiple victories of the Islamic resistance against the Zionist regime clearly demonstrate that the lofty aspirations of the Muslim Ummah for the liberation of the occupied Palestinian territories can be achieved only through harmony, solidarity and resistance," Larijani said in the statement, which was quoted by PressTV.

5. Drought damage: 30% rise in salinity of the Kinneret -Israel National News

A drought is again hitting the Kinneret (the Sea of Galilee), causing problems for farmers who rely on the water for agricultural purposes.

An annual report published by the Regional Council of the Jordan Valley has found that Israel's national lake, the Kinneret, is becoming saltier every year.

The report was commissioned by the "Tzomet Nisionot" agricultural center and the agricultural commission of the Regional Council of the Jordan Valley.

1. Massive blast in the heart of Kabul's diplomatic quarter kills at least 80 - Washington Post

A massive blast tore through the diplomatic quarter of the Afghan capital Wednesday, killing at least 80 people and wounding more than 460, officials said. The devastation left Kabul in shock and underlined the country's security struggles as it confronts a sustained wave of insurgent and terrorist attacks.

Interior Ministry officials said a huge quantity of explosives, hidden in a water tanker, detonated at 8:30 a.m. during rush hour on a busy boulevard in the Wazir Akbar Khan district, which houses embassies, banks, supermarkets and government ministries. An entire city block was ravaged, with office buildings left in rubble and charred vehicles strewn across the road in one of the deadliest single attacks in Kabul.

The scenes of human horror were appalling, even for a country accustomed to war and violence.

At Wazir Akbar Khan Hospital, a steady stream of ambulances and police trucks delivered burned and mangled bodies, many streaming blood. Medical aides struggled to zip them quickly into body bags as distraught people crowded around, looking for missing relatives. (Read more)

- Father, we pray You would remove the burden of Islam from the people of Afghanistan. We pray they would experience the reality of Jesus as the true Savior of the world.

- "Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest."
(Matthew 11:28)

2. Egypt's Coptic Christians Declare: 'We Take Pride to Die' for Jesus Amid ISIS Terror Attacks - CNS News

Coptic Christians have said that they "take pride" in dying for their faith following the latest slaughter at the hands of Islamic State terrorists.

"We take pride to die while holding on to our faith," Bishop Makarios, the top Coptic Orthodox cleric in Minya, said over the weekend, according to CBC News.

Reports have emerged revealing that IS gunmen forced Christians on their way to a monastery off a bus on Friday, where they asked them to denounce their faith and convert to Islam. The Copts, including children, refused, which led to the massacre of 29 believers, one of the chaplains comforting survivors revealed.

Thousands of Copts have been mourning the slain in the bus shooting, expressing their grief and rage at funerals for the victims. "With blood and soul, we will defend you, oh cross!" Copts yelled at the Church of the Sacred Family in the village of Dayr Jarnous. "We will avenge them or die like them," they said. "There is no god but God and the Messiah is God!" (Read more)

- Father, we pray our brothers and sisters, the Coptic Christians, will continue to stand strong in their faith in You. Help them not give into the temptation to hate those who are hurting them.

- "Love your enemies! Do good to them. Lend to them without expecting to be repaid. Then your reward from heaven will be very great, and you will truly be acting as children of the Most High, for he is kind to those who are unthankful and wicked." (Luke 6:35)

3. Recent ISIS Attacks Have a Sick New Theme - Lifezette.com

What kind of vicious people go after the young, the faithful, the vulnerable, and the family-focused?

Showing a blatant disregard for any kind of moral boundary, ISIS militants attacked innocent children in the most recent instance of nightmarish violence. In what would seem to go against all traditional ethical standards, the radical Islamic extremist group targeted kids in an attack that took the lives of at least 31 people overnight on Monday in Baghdad, Iraq.

ISIS militants detonated two car bombs: one near an ice cream parlor that was filled with families just after midnight (5 p.m. Eastern time on Monday) in the Karrada district; and the other hours later during rush hour, near the Public Pension Office. The attacks wounded at least 80 people. (Read more)

- Father, we pray these attacks will help people see the wickedness of Islam and seek the Truth in You.

- "You have shown me the way of life, and you will fill me with the joy of your presence." (Acts 2:28)

4. Mike Dubke, White House communications director, resigns - Fox News

Veteran GOP strategist Mike Dubke resigned as White House communications director on Tuesday, Dubke confirmed to Fox News. Asked about reports announcing his exit, Dubke told Fox News, "It is true." He added: "It has been a privilege to serve this president."

Dubke said in a message to friends and associates that his reason for leaving the post was "personal." "The reasons for my departure are personal, but it has been my great honor to serve President Trump and this administration," Dubke wrote. "It has also been my distinct pleasure to work side-by-side, day-by-day with the staff of the communications and press departments. This White House is filled with some of the finest and hardest working men and women in the American Government."

White House chief of staff Reince Priebus in a statement thanked Dubke "for his service to President Trump and this administration." "Mike will assist with the transition and be a strong advocate for the President and the President's policies moving forward," Priebus said. (Read more)

- Father, we pray for this communications position to be filled quickly. We also pray for any additional necessary staffing changes to bring in men and women of competence and integrity.

- "Counsel and sound judgment are mine; I have insight, I have power. By me kings reign and rulers issue decrees that are just; by me princes govern, and nobles-all who rule on earth." (Proverbs 8:14-16)

5. White House Readies for Total War with 'Fake News' Media - Lifezette.com

Trump team prepares aggressive operation to discredit, fight and defeat press misinformation

The White House appears to be preparing for a grueling, sustained conflict. But not with North Korea. Instead, the White House is prepping for a major counteroffensive against the U.S. news media.

The first sign of a new White House strategy to fight back against hostile press coverage came after a Washington Post story that made serious allegations, using anonymous sources, that Trump son-in-law Jared Kushner met with Russian officials and asked about a "back channel" to discuss Syria with Moscow.

Unlike other recent reports on Russian collusion hysteria, the Trump team did not sit idle and allow the story to dominate the day unchallenged. Shortly after the story was published, Fox News published a story of its own, citing administration officials, that contradicted the Post report. The Fox report suggested the Russians, not Kushner, suggested a back channel. (Read more)

- Father, we pray the Trump administration would move forward with wisdom and discernment as they counter-balance the mainstream media.

- "The first to plead his case seems right, until another comes and examines him." (Proverbs 18:17)

6. Hundreds Of Top Government Positions Remain Unfilled - Daily Caller

President Donald Trump has yet to nominate individuals for over 400 key government positions requiring Senate confirmation, including the surgeon general and 93 U.S. attorneys.

A collaboration between The Washington Post and The Partnership for Public Service shows that, as of Monday afternoon, 442 of 559 key positions requiring Senate confirmation remain unfilled. Just 39 nominees for these positions have been confirmed.

The White House did not return a request for comment as of publication time about the reasoning behind the delay. Ian Prior, a spokesman for the Department of Justice, told The Daily Caller Tuesday that there are no updates on the nomination process for U.S. attorneys. (Read more)

- Father, we pray all important administration positions would be filled quickly. Give President Trump wisdom to prioritize the most urgent vacancies.

- "Many people claim to be loyal, but it is hard to find a trustworthy person."
(Proverbs 20:6)

7. Trump again urges Senate to loosen rules, push healthcare and tax reforms - Reuters

U.S. President Donald Trump, in a tweet on Tuesday, reiterated his call for the U.S. Senate to loosen its rules to make it easier to pass legislation by simple majority, and urged lawmakers to pass healthcare and tax overhauls.

"The U.S. Senate should switch to 51 votes, immediately, and get Healthcare and TAX CUTS approved, fast and easy. Dems (Democrats) would do it, no doubt!" Trump wrote in a post on Twitter. Earlier this month, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell rejected the idea. (Read more)

- Father, we pray these important pieces of legislation will be completed by this session of Congress and delivered to President Trump for his signature very soon.

- "Your father put a heavy yoke on us, but now lighten the harsh labor and the heavy yoke he put on us, and we will serve you." (1 Kings 12:4)

8. REPORT: Trump To Withdraw From The Paris Climate Accord - Daily Caller

President Donald Trump will fulfill his campaign pledge to withdraw from the Paris climate agreement, two sources told Axios.

Trump is working with Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator Scott Pruitt and a small group of administration officials to work out how withdrawal will happen, Axios reported Wednesday. Trump is deciding between waiting three years to withdraw, as dictated by the accord, or pulling out of the United Nations overarching climate treaty.

Exiting the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) has been championed by conservatives who want to make sure a future president can't simply rejoin the Paris agreement, which 147 countries signed onto in 2016. (Read more)

- Father, thank You for this report. We pray our nation will not bind ourselves to other nations with this or any other climate accord or treaty.

- "The highway of the upright avoids evil; those who guard their ways preserve their lives." (Proverbs 16:17)

9. 'Direct Collision': U.S. Successfully Destroys a Missile in Flight - CNS News

In a "critical milestone" for the program to provide a missile defense umbrella over the U.S. homeland, the U.S. Missile Defense Agency on Tuesday reported the first successful interception and destruction in flight of a target with ICBM characteristics.

A ground-based interceptor launched from the Vandenberg Air Force Base in California collided with and destroyed an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM)-class projectile that had been launched from at atoll in the Marshall Islands, more than 4,500 miles away, the MDA reported.

The first live-fire test of the ground-based midcourse defense system (GMD) against an ICBM-class target comes at a time of greater-than-usual tensions on the Korean peninsula, as Kim Jong-un's regime continues to test ballistic missiles and threatens to use nuclear weapons against the United States. (Read more)

- Father, we pray this defensive weapon will prevent our enemies from launching attacks on our nation or on our allies.

- "See, God has come to save me. I will trust in him and not be afraid. The Lord God is my strength and my song; he has given me victory." (Isaiah 12:2)

10. Media Yawn at Venezuela's Spiraling, Socialist Nightmare - Lifezette.com

Study finds ABC, CBS, NBC barely cover left-wing catastrophe, avoid word 'socialism'

Out of approximately 50,000 total evening news stories on ABC, CBS and NBC combined in the last four years, just 25 have covered the ongoing crisis in socialist Venezuela, according to a Media Research Center study published Tuesday.

After Venezuela's former socialist president, Hugo Chávez, passed away in March 2013, the country has spiraled into economic disaster and civil chaos. So far in 2017, more than 50 Venezuelans have been killed during protests against current Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and his socialist policies. Many Venezuelans are starving due to shortages of food and other essentials. The country's inflation rate is set to surpass 700 percent and 25 percent of Venezuelans will be unemployed. (Read more)

- Father, we pray You would deliver these precious people from this tyranny. We pray for repentance throughout Venezuela and that the Church would lead the way back to You.

- "For the upright will live in the land and the blameless will remain in it; but the wicked will be cut off from the land and the treacherous will be uprooted from it." (Proverbs 2:21-22)

Secret Court confirms spying on US citizens

In March, President Donald Trump accused the ex-"president" of wire-tapping his campaign, setting off a barrage of sanctimonious denials from Democrats and the ex "president." The ex-"president's" spokesman Kevin Lewis said, "A cardinal rule of the [sic] Administration was that no White House official ever interfered with any independent investigation led by the Department of Justice. As part of that practice, neither the [sic] "president" nor any White House official ever ordered surveillance on any US citizen. Any suggestion otherwise is simply false." Lewis lied. The White House had routinely ordered surveillance on US citizens. This is now confirmed by a secret US court's investigation into the spying.

In June 2013, the UK Guardian released an investigative story on how the White House used the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court (FISC) to bypass the Patriot Act. The Guardian published documents submitted to the secret FISC, signed by Attorney General Eric Holder July 29, 2009. The documents indicate the White House used this court to back door "authority" to collect information on American citizens. The Guardian reported that the broad scope of the court orders and nature of the procedures established in the documents appeared "to clash" with assurances from the White House that our telephone and email information could not be accessed without warrants.

Now the FISC has audited this spying and has issued an opinion. In summary, the 99 page opinion written by FISC judge Rosemary Collyer states that Fourth Amendment violations of rights of privacy were violated by the ex "president's" National Security Agency as early as October 2011 and continued through 2016. And the information collected on US citizens was shared with the FBI, CIA and National Counterterrorism Center in violation of regulations. Collyer wrote that this constituted a "lack of candor" on NSA's part and "is a very serious Fourth Amendment issue." The court requested more information and NSA has stonewalled the investigation by repeatedly asking for deadline extensions through April 26. NSA reported to the court that it is destroying the information it collected on individuals.

Since taking office, the Trump Administration has taken steps to correct these instituted spying violations of privacy, according to the opinion. Which may be another reason why the Fifth Estate (CIA, FBI, NSA, NCTC, etc,) is at war with Trump-he has exposed their extraordinary spying on US citizens, condoned and practiced by the previous "president." In John 3:20, Jesus said, "For everyone that does evil hates the light, neither comes to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed." We need to continue to expose these deeds and demand accountability, otherwise your freedoms of religion, speech, and privacy will be crushed in darkness.

The beheading of Trump

In one of the most disgusting and vulgar of the many disgusting and vulgar antics of the radical left-which really means the Democratic Party-comedian, critic of President Donald Trump, and CNN mainstay Cathy Griffin did a photo shoot and video depicting her beheading the President. I was aghast at the picture of Griffin holding up a blood-stained likeness of Trump, not unlike what we have seen with the publicity photos of the Islamic State. Somehow Griffin thought this would be appropriate for America. She planned it, did a photo and video shoot around it, and posted it. It was offensive in every meaning of the word. But this is just the atmosphere of the "Resistance Summer" these revolutionaries are promising.

Griffin's un-American and offensive stunt comes on the heals of radical Islamist Congressman, disciple of Louis Farrakhan, Deputy Chair of the Democratic National Committee, Hakim Mohammed's (aka Keith Ellison, D-MN) announcement of "Resistance Summer." Ellison is leading the Democratic Party's version of Arab Spring, saying, "This summer, we're investing in all 50 states and connecting with every single voter in real life on the issues that matter to them-from health care to education to jobs and economic opportunity." Ellison says the resistance will be training volunteers and mobilizing against Trump all summer long.

This is where people like Griffin get the boldness to do some of the offensive and unthinkable things they do. Just imagine how offensive it is for grown adults and their children to march around Washington, DC wearing stocking caps that are supposed to be vaginas. They did it. And they are bullying and beating Trump supporters across America, yet have the audacity to say they want to "peacefully" stop the "violent" agenda of Trump (this is on the Moveon.org website). The vulgar things spoken by celebrities and their actions are over the top. Even the rank and file of the Democratic Party should be repulsed by these radical hatemongers, but they defend them or refuse to believe stories about their actions.

Moreover, if one does not agree with these revolutionary extremists, a label is applied and free speech-the ability to express an opinion-is not only discouraged, it is shut down by the radical noise. They are trying to overthrow the government and make America into an anarchist Marxist state that can be taken over by iron-fisted tyrants. Cathy Griffin and her ilk should be ashamed. Americans need to boycott these people by not patronizing them. Jesus said in Matthew 7:15-16, "Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. You shall know them by their fruits." These radicals are prophets of darkness. Their fruit is evil. Griffin's act is an intent of the heart.

Have a Blessed and Powerful Day!

Classic Hymns:
OPEN MY EYES, THAT I MAY SEE

"Open my eyes that I may see wonderful things in Your law." (Psalm 119:18)

Lyrics

Open my eyes, that I may see
Glimpses of truth Thou hast for me;
Place in my hands the wonderful key
That shall unclasp and set me free.

Refrain

Silently now I wait for Thee,
Ready my God, Thy will to see,
Open my eyes, illumine me,
Spirit divine!

Open my ears, that I may hear
Voices of truth Thou sendest clear;
And while the wave notes fall on my ear,
Everything false will disappear.

Refrain

Open my mouth, and let me bear,
Gladly the warm truth everywhere;
Open my heart and let me prepare
Love with Thy children thus to share.

Texas man catches 'monster' frog, photo goes viral

A man in Texas caught a monster-sized frog, and the photos are going viral online.

According to the South Texas Hunting Association's Facebook page, Markcuz Rangel is the man who captured the giant bullfrog last Wednesday. The frog was caught in a fishing pond in Batesville in south Texas.

A spokesman for the Texas Parks & Wildlife Department told the Houston Chronicle that the photo is real and not photoshopped. However, the spokesman said the picture is a little misleading.

"It's not as bigly as it appears," spokesman Steve Lightfoot said. "[It's an] optical illusion created by extending frog toward the camera - similar to what you see with fishermen holding up fish to make them appear larger. Still a big bullfrog, though."

This is how the South Texas Hunting Association captioned the photo on Facebook: "Markcuz Rangel - Wanted to share a monster bullfrog we got yesterday afternoon at one of our fishing ponds in South texas ranch located in Batesville tx 13lb monster frog!!!" (Read more)

Philippines: Marawi Muslims Help Trapped Christians to Escape the City as Death Toll Rises from ISIS-linked Fighting

(Marawi, Philippines)-[Gospel Herald] Muslims in Marawi, Philippines helped 39 Christians flee the city amid intensifying gunfights between ISIS-linked fighters and members of the military.

Senior Supt. Oscar Nantes, police director in Lanao del Sur province, said the Christians had been trapped and hiding in houses for 36 hours, lying flat on their backs so the Maute group members in the area would not see them. They were aided by two elderly Muslims, who gave them a place to hide, PhilStar reported.

The 39 Christians were then rescued by a team initiated by Salma Jayne Tamano, the province's information officer, and her relatives, who are all Muslims.
