1. IDF Steps Up Preparedness As Tensions Rise In Gulf- Jerusalem Post

The IDF has stepped up its preparedness in light of the increased tension in the Gulf, Channel 12 reported on Sunday.

Despite the the last minute decision, according to reports, by US President Donald Trump to cancel strikes on Iran and despite the seeming containment in the region, Israel is still concerned that Iran may attempt an attack on Israel, the report said.

According to the report, the army has undergone numerous changes and updates in order to prepare for an attack by Tehran or from one of its proxies in Gaza, Syria or Lebanon.

On Sunday, US National Security Advisor John Bolton met with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, saying that Iran should not mistake US "prudence and discretion for weakness."

2. Netanyahu tells Russian official: We will do 'anything' to prevent nuclear Iran - Times Of Israel

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told Russian President Vladimir Putin's top security adviser on Monday that Israel will do "anything it takes" to ensure Iran does not obtain nuclear weapons.

"I'm certain that Russia understands what it means for us when a regime calls for our annihilation, and acts on a daily basis to achieve that aim," Netanyahu said in a meeting at his Jerusalem office with Russia's National Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev.

"Israel won't allow an Iran that calls for our annihilation to entrench itself on our border, and we will do anything it takes to prevent it from obtaining nuclear weapons," the prime minister said.

3. Hamas warns against applying sovereignty in Judea and Samaria - Israel National News

The Hamas terrorist organization on Monday issued an official statement rejecting the "Deal of the Century" of the Trump administration to resolve the longstanding conflict between Israelis and Palestinian Arabs.

In the statement, Hamas stressed that "the participants in the Bahrain conference have no right or authority to represent Palestine and the resolutions adopted at the conference have no validity."

The organization called on Bahrain and other countries to cancel their participation in the conference and on the Palestinian organizations to raise the level of readiness for "a confrontation against the plot, which will include a general strike on Tuesday and popular actions."

"We emphasize our adherence to all means, first and foremost the armed resistance, along with all the other tools that help preserve its cause and liberate our occupied land," the Hamas announcement said.

4. Exposed: Hamas Has a Sleeper Cell Inside UNRWA - Jewish Press

The head of UNRWA's employees' union in the Gaza Strip is a fairly anonymous Hamas official who has been placed by the terror organization inside the agency as a "sleeper" who can use the organization's resources for Hamas' purposes, TPS has learned.

The United Professional List recently won the elections for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees' (UNRWA) employees union.

Arab media reported that the event was perceived as a victory for Islamic elements in the Gaza Strip and underscored the failure of their opponents on the Fatah list. The List, a joint Hamas-Islamic Jihad organization, won 22 of the 27 seats.

Amir al-Mashal, who as already served as head of the UNRWA employees union in Gaza, led the List to its latest victory.

Salameh Shalakh, an Islamic Jihad official, admitted that the List was "a union of Islamic organizations."

5. Lieberman: Netanyahu will form minority government with Arab factions - Israel Hayom

Yisrael Beytenu chairman Avigdor Lieberman attacked Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu during a faction meeting on Monday afternoon, claiming that Netanyahu wants to form a minority government with the support of the Arab parties.

"We heard him say, 'The Arabs are heading [to the voting booths] in droves' - the prime minister is heading toward the Arab parties, and that direction will cost the taxpayers a lot of money," Lieberman said in the meeting.

"An attempt has been made to get people used to the next step of a minority government supported by the Arab parties. A minority government with the haredim and the Arabs will be established at the expense of the public who serves in the military, works, and pays taxes. This is not some imaginary scenario," Lieberman warned.

The Yisrael Beytenu chairman went on to detail the motive behind the minority government he says Netanyahu wants to form.

The Daily Brief

1. Trump signs executive order delivering 'hard-hitting' sanctions against Iran - Fox

President Trump struck back Monday at Iran by issuing "hard-hitting" financial sanctions against Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and his associates. "Today's action follows a series of aggressive behaviors by the Iranian regime in recent weeks including shooting down a U.S. drone," the president said in the Oval Office, calling Khamenei "responsible for the hostile conduct of the regime."

Trump said the sanctions "will deny the supreme leader and the supreme leader's office and those closely affiliated with him and the office access to key financial resources and support." Speaking to reporters in the White House briefing room Monday, Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin said the sanctions "lock up literally billions of dollars more of assets."

"Along with that action today, we are also announcing specific actions targeting those responsible for recent activities," Mnuchin said, adding that the president has instructed him to sanction Iran's Foreign Minister Javad Zarif "later this week."

- Father, we pray that these continued sanctions will pressure Iran to stop doing what they've been doing. We ask that You hover over that nation, and move to bring about major change for all the people who are under the thumb of the repressive regime.

- "Evil shall slay the wicked, and those who hate the righteous shall be condemned." Psalm 34:21

2. Mexico becomes first country to approve USMCA - Washington Examiner

Mexico's Senate voted overwhelmingly in favor of approving the U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement on trade, a deal that would replace the North American Free Trade Agreement.

The measure passed with a 114-4 vote, bringing the agreement one step closer to fruition. Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador convened a special legislative session to hold the vote after the Senate convened in April.

Meanwhile, the deal is running into some roadblocks getting through Congress. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has the authority to bring legislation on the matter before the chamber, but has expressed hesitation about the deal, which she says lacks adequate mechanisms to enforce its labor and environmental provisions. (Read more)

- Lord, we pray that You will move on Speaker Pelosi to handle this issue properly. We pray that the agreement will be of great benefit to all the countries involved.

- "A brother offended is harder to win than a strong city, and contentions are like the bars of a castle." Proverbs 18:19

3. Doug MacKinnon: Will you survive the coming blackout? - Fox

Last weekend, tens of millions of people in Argentina, Paraguay, and Uruguay found themselves in a complete blackout. In one moment, they had electricity. The next moment, they had none, and they were catapulted back to the 1800s. Only much worse.

People in the 1800s were not dependent upon electricity for their jobs, money, communication, Internet, transportation, education, security, medical services, prescriptions, water, and very lives.

The average age of large power transformers in the United States is 40 years. The overall system is so weak, so taxed, and so vulnerable that in 2003, over 50 million people in the United States and Canada were hit with cascading blackouts simply because a tree branch fell on a power line in Ohio.

When an extended regional or national blackout hits, you and your family will be on your own. Survival kits which include water, non-perishable food, medicine, first-aid kits, batteries, a radio, flashlights, candles, cash, a hand-crank charger, with smaller versions of all for your vehicle and office. (Read more)

- Father, we pray the power of Your Holy Spirit to protect the US power grid from anything that could destroy the entire system. We will not be afraid, we will trust in You.

- "Some trust in chariots, and some in horses, but we will remember the name of the Lord our God." Psalm 20:7

4. Senators Braun, Scott, and Sinema Urge GOP Leadership to Attach 'No Budget, No Pay' to Budget - Breitbart

Sens. Mike Braun (R-IN), Rick Scott (R-FL), and Kyrsten Sinema (D-AZ) sent a letter to the Senate Appropriations Committee leadership, urging them to include their No Appropriations, No Pay provision in the budget to prevent lawmakers from receiving a paycheck in the event of a government shutdown.

The legislation was successfully added to the Government Shutdown Accountability Act and passed out at the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs meeting this week. "It is not fair that government is held to a different standard than the rest of America, and we hope that all members can get behind this common-sense provision that saves tax dollars and puts hardworking American families first," the three senators added.

Braun introduced the legislation back in January to force Congress to take its budgetary duties seriously. Braun told Breitbart News in January that the legislation would "put some teeth into the fact" that the budgetary process has become a "circus annually." Braun said that the legislation's progress through the Senate serves as a "big step" toward getting Congress to work for the American people again.

- Lord, we pray that You will do what it takes to get Congress members to work for their constituents, or remove and replace them.

- "Remove your foot from evil." Proverbs 4:27b

5. Here's which appellate courts Trump could flip next - WND

It was only days ago that the perennially progressive 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals lifted injunctions against a pro-life rule implemented by the Trump administration and allowed Title X family planning funds to be sent only to organizations that don't do abortion.

Then the U.S. Supreme court left its progressives bitter after narrowly, on a 5-4 decision, overruling its own previous takings clause precedent, and opening federal courts to those compensation fights. That ruling was criticized harshly by Justice Elena Kagan, who wrote "judges do not get to reverse a decision just because they never liked it in the first instance."

"If the president and his administration sustain the current pace of nominations, we could possibly see liberal-to-conservative majorities change in other circuits as well. Looking at the number of liberal-to-conservative appointed judges in other circuits, it's clear that the [2nd and 11th circuit courts could flip]," the report said. (Read more)

- Father, we thank You that there are some hopeful signs appearing in our courts, and that at least some of the decisions are moving closer to Your ways. We ask that You restore our gates and protect Your desires for America.

- "Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven." Matthew 6:10

6. Pence says Maduro 'must go' as Navy aids Venezuelan refugees - Washington Times

Vice President Mike Pence called anew for the ouster of Venezuela's embattled President Nicholas Maduro on Tuesday, asserting that the socialist leader's removal is the only way democracy can be restored in the South American nation.

The Maduro regime is "a threat to peace and security across the hemisphere," Mr. Pence said, pointing to the flood of thousands of refugees fleeing Venezuela's economic meltdown to nations around the region - including to the United States.

Speaking in Miami, ahead of the deployment of the Navy's USNS Comfort hospital ship to the region in response to the widening humanitarian crisis, Mr. Pence reiterated the Trump administration's six-month-old assertion that Mr. Maduro "is a dictator with no legitimate claim to power." (Read more)

- Lord, we ask for the removal of Maduro so that the people of Venezuela can once again be prosperous. We pray for a move of Your Spirit in that nation.

- "The wicked will fall by his own wickedness." Proverbs 11:5b

7. Hundreds of migrant caravan members found to have US criminal histories: DHS files - Fox

Hundreds of illegal immigrants attempting to cross the southern border as part of massive migrant caravans were found to have criminal histories in the U.S., according to newly obtained Department of Homeland Security documents.

The DHS files were provided to House Oversight Committee Republicans in May and included internal data showing more than 1,000 migrants traveling as part of caravans to the border within the past nine months had "U.S. criminal histories" and hundreds had "U.S. criminal convictions."

In January 2019, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) tracked a caravan that left Honduras with more than 3,300 migrants. ICE's Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) team identified that 860 of those individuals had U.S. criminal histories, including more than 20 convicted of assault or aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, nearly 30 convicted of sexual offenses, two convicted of violence against law enforcement, and one convicted of attempted murder. (Read more)

- Lord, we pray the You will move mightily over the Democrats in Congress, to remove the blinders over their minds and eyes to see this report and move to correct it.

- "Therefore take heed to your spirit, that you do not deal treacherously."
Malachi 2:16

8. Church of Scientology and Leader Accused of Child Abuse, Human Trafficking - Neon Nettle

The Church of Scientology International and its leader have been accused of child abuse and human trafficking by several members who have left the church, according to a team of lawyers who filed the "first of many lawsuits" against the "religion." The Church of Scientology's attorney said the church "will vigorously defend itself against these unfounded allegations."

"The Church of Scientology presents a façade to the outside world to disguise what in reality is nothing more than a cult built on mind control and destruction of the independence and self-control of those drawn into its sphere," the lawsuit states.

"Members are isolated from the outside world, their access to information is heavily monitored and controlled, and they are subject to physical, verbal, psychological, emotional and/or sexual abuse and/or assault." (Read more)

- Father, we pray that You will continue to bring the truth about this cultish religion to light. We ask that You move over the membership, bringing light into the darkness, and setting the captives free.

- "Beloved, do not imitate what is evil, but what is good. He who does good is of God, but he who does evil has not seen God." 2 John:11

9. Trump quietly revolutionizing health insurance - WND

President Trump's newly introduced rule for Health Reimbursement Accounts, or HRAs, might not seem like a big deal, but it has the potential to dramatically re-shape the individual market, contends a former Bush administration economic adviser.

Douglas Holtz-Eakin, president of the American Action Forum, acknowledged it would expand by only 800,000 the number of Americans with insurance. And he pointed out the rule is at risk of being undone by a future administration. Nevertheless, he said, it levels the tax playing field between the insurance policies purchased via HRAs and those who get employer-sponsored insurance, with both now using pre-tax dollars.

Further, it "respects individual choice; workers can choose plans in the individual market that best meet their needs. Similarly, workers can effectively choose how much of their compensation they want in health insurance, thereby delivering to them the compensation package that they prefer. Finally, it caps the liability for the employer, thus turning health insurance into a defined contribution benefit. These advantages explain why the administration expects roughly 11 million individuals to participate in the HRAs permitted by the rule." (Read more)

- Father, we thank You that this move could help taxpayers and individual choice. We pray that it will be successful in assisting people with their healthcare.

- "They That Wait Upon The Lord, Shall Renew Their Strength, They Shall Mount Up with Wings of Eagles, They Shall Run and Not Be Weary Walk Faint." Isaiah 40:31

10. Government meeting opens with 'Hail Satan' prayer - Washington Times

A Satanic Temple member who won the right to open a regional Alaska government meeting declared "Hail Satan" during her first invocation, prompting about a dozen officials and attendees to walk out.

Tuesday's invocation that started the meeting of the Kenai Peninsula Borough also spurred a protest outside the southern Alaska borough's administration building that drew 40 people, The Peninsula Clarion newspaper reported. Protesters held signs saying "reject Satan and his works" and "know Jesus and his love."

Satanic Temple member Iris Fontana was among the plaintiffs in the lawsuit litigated by the ACLU of Alaska against the borough after it approved a 2016 policy saying that people who wanted to give the invocations at the government body's meetings had to belong to official organizations. The Alaska Supreme Court last October ruled that the borough policy was unconstitutional and the borough government changed it in November to allow anyone to offer invocations regardless of religion. (Read more)

- Lord, in the Mighty Name of Jesus Christ we declare Your Lordship over Alaska, to tear down the demonic, satanic rulers of darkness. We rebuke every plan, dispel every curse, and command every demon of hell involved in this prayer and action to go into waste places.

- "But the Lord your God turned the curse into a blessing for you, because the Lord your God loves you." Deut 23:5

The Daily Jot

Is freedom so precious, life so dear?
Monday, June 24, 2019

The Apostle Paul wrote in Galatians 5:1, "Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage." The brave men who put to ink their signature upon the Declaration of Independence knew they were about to change the world. They knew they would either be successful in establishing this new nation or die in the process and they bound themselves in covenant that they would live free or die. Today, even this past week, the U.S. Supreme Court and many elected officials and ministers of the Gospel deny these men had anything to do with Christ. But history and the facts prove otherwise. Here are a few direct quotes from some of these men:

"We have this day restored the Sovereign, to Whom alone men ought to be obedient. He reigns in heaven and from the rising to the setting sun, may His Kingdom come"--Samuel Adams, July 4, 1776. "The moral principles and precepts contained in the scripture ought to form the basis of all our civil constitutions and laws. All the miseries and evil men suffer from vice, crime, ambition, injustice, oppression, slavery, and war, proceed from their despising or neglecting the precepts contained in the Bible"--Noah Webster. "We have no government armed in power capable of contending with human passions unbridled by morality and religion. Our Constitution was made only for a religious and moral people. It is wholly inadequate for the government of any other"--John Adams.

"I have lived, Sir, a long time, and the longer I live the more convincing proofs I see of this truth-that God governs in the affairs of men. And if a sparrow cannot fall to the ground without His notice, is it probable that an empire can rise without His aid? We have been assured, Sir, in the Sacred Writings, that "except the Lord build the house they labor in vain that build it." I firmly believe this. I also believe that without His concurring aid we shall succeed in this political building no better than the builders of Babel"--Benjamin Franklin. What? Benjamin Franklin referring to scripture? I'm sure this is rarely, if ever, taught in the public school system.

In Ezekiel 3:19, the Lord says, "Yet if you warn the wicked, and he turn not from his wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but you have delivered your soul." Hear this: Those who would deny God, deny the deity of Jesus Christ, and seek to diminish the role of the Godhead in establishing and blessing this nation as set in the words and deeds of the Founding fathers, whether so done in the pulpit, or in the classroom, or in the courtroom, or on the street, or in the secret place of the heart, should fear God and repent. The Lord has seen fit to provide us-even this generation of Americans-freedom to worship and to share the gospel of Christ. Freedom is so precious in sharing the good news, and life is essential to share it. Know Christ, know liberty, know life.

Have a Blessed and Powerful Day!

Our Mission Statement

Capitol Hill Prayer Partners (CHPP) is a ministry which is positioned on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., helping members of the Body of Christ to "pray for those in authority over us" in our federal government.
