President Trump Defunds Planned Parenthood

President Donald Trump Defunds Planned Parenthood,
Will Cut Almost $60 Million in Taxpayer Funding

President Donald Trump today finalized an administrative rule that would partially defund the Planned Parenthood abortion business and deprive it of as much as $60 million in taxpayer dollars. This action adds to President Trump's record of defunding the Planned Parenthood abortion company.

The abortion chain receives about $50 million to $60 million in Title X funds annually, but that could change now that the new rules are being implemented. The administration's changes to Title X family planning grants have angered the abortion chain Planned Parenthood, prompting a lawsuit, but they provide hope for life-affirming pregnancy centers, which can now compete with the abortion giant for the federal funds.
Title X funds are supposed to be used to help low-income women and men receive birth control, cancer screenings and other health care services. While the tax money cannot be used to pay for abortions, it indirectly funds Planned Parenthood's vast abortion business.
Last May, the Trump administration published a new proposal for Title X that would prohibit Planned Parenthood and other abortion businesses from receiving any of those tax dollars unless they completely separate their abortion businesses from their taxpayer-funded services. That mean housing their family planning services in separate buildings with separate staff from their abortion businesses and a denial of funds if they fail to do so. Most Planned Parenthood entities are not expected to comply.
Under the new directive, which will take effect in 60 days, organizations receiving Title X funding have 120 days to financially separate their family planning and abortion operations and one year to physically separate their family planning and abortion operations.

The "Protect Life Rule," as that proposal is known, was finalized today. And pro-life groups are delighted by the news.

"We thank President Trump for taking decisive action to disentangle taxpayers from the big abortion industry led by Planned Parenthood," said SBA List President Marjorie Dannenfelser.

She told LifeNews: "The Protect Life Rule does not cut family planning funding by a single dime, and instead directs tax dollars to entities that provide healthcare to women but do not perform abortions. The Title X program was not intended to be a slush fund for abortion businesses like Planned Parenthood, which violently ends the lives of more than 332,000 unborn babies a year and receives almost $60 million a year in Title X taxpayer dollars. We thank President Trump and Secretary Azar for ensuring that the Title X program is truly about funding family planning, not abortion."

National Right to Life president Carol Tobias also praised President Trump and noted that the decision doesn't adversely affect women's health because the federal funds will go to legitimate family planning efforts instead of places that kill babies in abortions.

"We thank President Trump and Health & Human Services Secretary Azar for their numerous actions to restore pro-life policies," she told LifeNews. "We are encouraged to see the announcement of Title X regulations that are back in line with previous policy that prevents federal dollars from being used to directly or indirectly promote abortion domestically."

- Father, we are rejoicing at this decision by the President, and ask that You grant him wisdom to find a way to remove all taxpayer funding of Planned Parenthood.

- "Then I will give them one heart and one way, that they may fear Me forever, for the good of them and their children after them." (Jeremiah 32:39)

Focus on Israel

1. PA: Hamas, Islamic Jihad Behind Anti-Abbas Protests - Jerusalem Post

The Palestinian Authority and its ruling Fatah faction have begun organizing rallies throughout the West Bank in support of PA President Mahmoud Abbas. The move came in response to recent demonstrations in the Gaza Strip during which protesters condemned Abbas and called for his removal from power.

On Monday, hundreds of Abbas loyalists took to the streets in various parts of the West Bank to voice their support for the 83-year-old PA president. The protesters denounced the demonstrations in the Gaza Strip and accused Hamas and Islamic Jihad of launching a campaign of incitement against Abbas.

The West Bank protesters also expressed support for Abbas's rejection of the US administration's yet-to-be-unveiled plan for peace in the Middle East, also referred to as the "Deal of the Century."

The anti-Abbas protests in the Gaza Strip are being held under the banner "Get Out!" while the protests sponsored by the PA and Fatah are titled "We Chose You!" and "President Abbas Represents Me!"

2. MK: There Will Be a Palestinian State if Netanyahu Wins - Jerusalem Online

Earlier this month, Fox News cited two US officials as saying that the Trump administration had finalized the Mideast peace plan, dubbed the "Deal of the Century".

Israeli Education Minister Naftali Bennett claimed on Sunday that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and US President Donald Trump were planning to establish a Palestinian state in the West Bank and divide Jerusalem "a day or two after election day" on 9 April.

"Netanyahu and President Trump have agreed to come out with the plan to establish a Palestinian state on 90 percent [of the West Bank]. They've agreed not to present the plan before election day so that it doesn't hurt Netanyahu, but a day or two after election day the plan will be presented and will include the division of Jerusalem", Bennett, who heads the New Right party, said at a cabinet meeting.

3. New Right, Likud accuse each other of enabling Kushner's two-state push - Times of Israel

Likud and the New Right entered into a mudslinging match Monday evening, after US President Donald Trump's senior adviser Jared Kushner gave an interview on the administration's upcoming peace plan - with each party issuing stark warnings that the other would enable the establishment of a Palestinian state.

Kushner, in an interview with Sky News Arabic, said the administration's long-awaited Israeli-Palestinian peace plan will focus on "redrawing of boundaries and resolving final status issues."

The statements set off a combative back and forth between the coalition's New Right, headed by Naftali Bennett and Ayelet Shaked, and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's Likud, with the two parties jostling to boost their right-wing credibility.

4. Netanyahu seeks Shaked's help - Israel National News

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu's attorney approached Justice Minister Ayelet Shaked nd asked her to work to release material that would prove that his relationship with Bezeq owner Shaul Elovitch was not inappropriate, News 12 reported.

According to the report, in a letter sent by Netanyahu's attorney Navot Tel Tzur, to Justice Minister Ayelet Shaked, Netanyahu demanded that Mashad ensure that the Justice Ministry release the answers he sent to the State Comptroller from the end of 2016 and the beginning of 2017. It is alleged that there was nothing illegal about the relationship between Netanyahu and Elovitz.

The document also alleged that Netanyahu, in his capacity as Communications Minister, did not make controversial decisions before a famous conflict of interests arrangement was formulated, and that all of his decisions were made after a proper procedure and coordination with the legal authorities.

5. Egypt's Sisi: We'll build synagogues should Jews return - World Israel News

If Jews are interested in establishing a Jewish community in Egypt, the government will build synagogues and other communal institutions, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi told a U.S. delegation during a two-hour meeting last week, according to a report in the Jerusalem Post.

The entourage was comprised of members of the Anwar Sadat Congressional Gold Medal Commission that advocated the granting of the U.S. Congressional Gold Medal posthumously to the slain Egyptian president who made peace with Israel, said the newspaper. The delegation traveled to Egypt to invite Sisi to the ceremony in the fall, when the medal will be given to Sadat's wife, Jehan.

"President Sisi spoke fondly not only of Egypt's past vibrant Jewish community but also said that should there be a resurgence of the Jewish community in Egypt, the government will provide every religious necessity required . . . that was a very warm embrace," said Ezra Friedlander, a consultant and lobbyist from New York who spearheaded efforts to have the award granted to Sadat, according to the Post.

This required the passage of a bill that needed to be sponsored by two-thirds of Congress and was signed by U.S. President Donald Trump in December.

1. Pompeo rejects legal claim by ISIS wife: 'She's a non-citizen terrorist -- she's not coming back' - Fox News

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, speaking to "Fox News Sunday," forcefully rejected a lawsuit filed against the Trump administration this week by the father of an Alabama woman who left the U.S. to join the Islamic State group, saying in no uncertain terms that she is a "non-citizen terrorist" who "is not coming back."

In the federal court filing, Ahmed Ali Muthana argued that his daughter, Hoda Muthana, 24, is an American citizen by birth and that the White House should recognize her citizenship and "accept Ms. Muthana and her son back into the United States and to use all available means to do so." But Pompeo countered that Muthana had deliberately endangered U.S. soldiers and would not prevail in court.

"She's a non-citizen terrorist; she has no legal basis for a claim of U.S. citizenship," Pompeo told anchor Chris Wallace. "She's not coming back to the United States to create the risk that someday she'd return to the battlefield and continue to put at risk American people, American kids, American boys and girls that were sent to help defeat ISIS -- she put them at risk, she's not a U.S. citizen, she's not coming back." (Read more)

- Thank You, Lord for this decision and pray that You will prevent Hoda Muthana from ever returning.

- "The evil will bow before the good, and the wicked at the gates of the righteous." (Proverbs 14:19)

2. Mike Pompeo: Maduro's days are numbered in Venezuela - NY Post

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo decried the violence that erupted as Nicolas Maduro tried to keep humanitarian aid from entering Venezuela and said the embattled leader's "days are numbered."

"We're very hopeful in the days and weeks and months ahead the Maduro regime will understand that the Venezuelan people have made its days numbered," Pompeo said on "Fox News Sunday."

Saying "no options" are off the table concerning US military intervention in the South American country, Pompeo said the Trump administration will continue to keep the pressure on Maduro.

"We're going to do the things that need to be done to make sure that the Venezuelan people's voice, that democracy reigns and that there's a brighter future for the people of Venezuela," Pompeo said during the interview.

Those actions would involve in continuing to throw its full support behind opposition leader Juan Guaido, who declared himself president last month after saying Maduro's re-election was illegitimate, and by providing tons of humanitarian aid - including food, medicine and hygiene kits - to the Venezuelan people. (Read more)

- Lord, we pray for Your hand in the situations in Venezuela. We pray that You will help the starving, oppressed people of that nation be free and able to receive desperately needed humanitarian aid.

- "Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due., when it is in the power of your hand to do so." (Proverbs 3:27)

3. As Venezuela Conflict Escalates, Pence Heads to Colombia - Newsmax

A U.S.-backed drive to deliver foreign aid to Venezuela met strong resistance as troops loyal to President Nicolas Maduro blocked the convoys at the border and fired tear gas on protesters in clashes that left two people dead and some 300 injured.

As night fell Saturday, opposition leader Juan Guaido refrained from asking supporters to continue risking their lives trying to break through the government's barricades at the Colombian and Brazilian borders. Instead, he said he would meet U.S. Vice President Mike Pence on Monday in Bogota at an emergency meeting of mostly conservative Latin American governments to discuss Venezuela's crisis.

But he did make one last appeal to troops to let the aid in and urged the international community to keep "all options open" in the fight to oust Maduro given Saturday's violence.

"How many of you national guardsmen have a sick mother? How many have kids in school without food," he said, standing alongside a warehouse in the Colombian city of Cucuta where 600 tons of mostly U.S.-supplied boxes of food and medicine have been stockpiled. "You don't owe any obedience to a sadist...who celebrates the denial of humanitarian aid the country needs." (Read more)

- Lord, we pray Your mighty protection over Vice President Pence as he works to help the Conservative nations work together to help Venezuela. We erect a hedge of the fire of Your Holy Spirit around him, that no harm will come to him on his journey.

"Because you have made the Lord, who is my refuge, even the Most High, your habitation, no evil shall befall you, nor shall any plague come near your dwelling." (Psalm 91:9)

4. Elizabeth Warren says reparations for Native Americans should be 'part of the conversation'- Fox News

2020 presidential hopeful Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., expanded on an already-radical proposal on Friday, telling reporters that Native Americans should be "part of the conversation" on reparations for African-Americans -- a move that threatens to bring back her own history with Native Americans.

Taking questions from reporters ahead of a Democratic Party fundraiser in Manchester, N.H., Warren, she said that America has an "ugly history of racism" and outlined her ways to tackle it -- including the possibility of reparations.

"We need to confront it head-on and we need to talk about the right away to address it and make change," she said.

Warren had said in a statement to The New York Times this week that "we must confront the dark history of slavery and government-sanctioned discrimination in this country that has had many consequences, including undermining the ability of black families to build wealth in America for generations. We need systemic, structural changes to address that," she said. (Read more)

- Father, the far left agenda of the Democrats is riddled with expenses that would make the US debt far deeper that it is already. We ask that You prevent all of their plans from taking effect and allow America to move forward from the past.

- "The thoughts of the wicked are an abomination to the Lord, but the words of the pure are pleasant." (Proverbs 15:26)

5. California has sued the Trump administration 46 times. Here are the lawsuits - The Hill

As President Trump enters his third year of the presidency, California's Attorney General Xavier Becerra (D) has remained a persistent thorn in the side of his administration on issues ranging from immigration to protecting the environment and the Affordable Care Act.

In total, the California attorney general's office has sued the federal government a record 46 times in just two years, more than any other state attorney general during the Trump administration or any other presidency in recorded history.

Many of those lawsuits have been decided in the state's favor, while others, including two filed since the beginning of 2019, remain in the courts. Some of the efforts included joining lawsuits led by other states targeting the administration. An adviser to the attorney general, Sarah Lovenheim, told The Hill that the office has secured 27 legal victories against the Trump administration so far in lawsuits at various stages. (Read more)

- Lord we ask that these lawsuits begin to fall to the ground, and grant President Trump victories that will enable him to complete Your plans.

- "Do not grant, O Lord, the desires of the wicked." (Psalm 140: 8a)

6. Trump to delay tariff increases, stocks jump - Fox Business

President Trump said Sunday he would delay the increase citing "substantial progress" on issues including intellectual property and technology transfer after a weekend of talks.

In a tweet, Trump wrote that should progress continue, the U.S. would plan a summit with President Xi Jinping of China to "conclude an agreement."

U.S. tariffs on $200 billion of Chinese goods had been scheduled to rise to 25 percent from 10 percent at 12:01 a.m. Saturday.

In recent talks, Beijing offered to increase purchases of U.S. farm and energy products and services, ease restrictions on U.S. firms in financial services and auto manufacturing and improve protection of U.S. intellectual-property rights, according to the Wall Street Journal. (Read more)

- Lord, we thank You that the President will meet with Xi Jinping of China to finalize a trade deal that is advantageous to both nations.

- "The Lord is for me among those who help me; therefore I shall see my desire on those who hate me." (Psalm 118:7)

7. NJ Senate passes bill that would keep Trump off 2020 ballot unless he releases tax returns - The Hill

The New Jersey state Senate on Thursday overwhelmingly voted to pass a bill that would keep presidential candidates off the state's 2020 ballot unless they release their tax returns.

According to the Courier Post, the Democratic-controlled state Senate passed the measure along party lines in a 23-11 vote on Thursday, sending the bill to the Assembly committee and full legislature for a vote before it heads to the desk of Gov. Phil Murphy (D) for consideration.

The controversial measure would deny candidates for president and vice president a spot on the state ballot if they do not publicly release five of their most recent tax returns at least 50 days before the general election in 2020.

The bill, if passed, would also bar the state's electors from voting for candidates for president and vice president as part of the Electoral College system if they choose not to comply with the legislation. (Read more)

- Lord, we pray that this measure would not do what the liberals are hoping it will do. We bind the plan of the enemy against the President and command all anti-Trump plans to be defeated. We pray that President Trump's name will appear on the ballot in all 50 states.

- "In the day of my trouble I will call upon You, for You will answer me." (Psalm 86:7)

8. Schiff: Dems 'absolutely' will take DOJ to court over Mueller report if necessary - Fox News

House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff insisted Sunday he's willing to take the Justice Department to court over Special Counsel Robert Mueller's forthcoming final report on the Russia investigation, which sources tell Fox News is wrapping up.

The DOJ's inspector general sharply criticized former FBI Director James Comey for publicly outlining the bureau's case against then-presidential candidate Hillary Clinton in 2016 without finding criminal wrongdoing worthy of prosecution. Against that backdrop, it appeared unlikely the DOJ would be eager to release any findings by Mueller of noncriminal misconduct -- but Schiff, D-Calif., suggested he has several tools to take matters into his own hands.

"We will obviously subpoena the report," Schiff told George Stephanopoulos on ABC News' "This Week." "We will bring Bob Mueller in to testify before Congress; we will take it to court if necessary. And in the end, I think the department understands they're going to have to make this public."

It was not clear whether the Justice Department would be obligated legally to respond to such a subpoena, or whether courts -- which typically steer clear of legal and political disputes between branches of the federal government -- would force the DOJ to turn over the document. (Read more)

- Lord, we once again ask for a reprieve for President Trump to be able to accomplish Your will over America. We speak repentance to all members of Congress, especially the people who hate the President, and pray that the Holy Spirit will convict them of sin.

- "And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of judgment, and of righteousness." (John 16:8)

9. All-male military draft ruled unconstitutional by federal judge in Texas - Fox News

The all-male military draft is unconstitutional, a federal judge in Texas ruled Friday.

U.S. District Judge Gray Miller of the Southern District of Texas wrote the "time has passed" on debate for women in the military, regardless of whether the matter of women serving in combat "may have justified past discrimination," as USA Today reported.

"The average woman could conceivably be better suited physically for some of today's combat positions than the average man, depending on which skills the position required. Combat roles no longer uniformly require sheer size or muscle," Miller wrote, in the form of a declaratory judgment rather than an injunction. (Read more)

- Father, we pray that only Your will be accomplished over the US military, and that wisdom will prevail in all branches.

- "For this reason we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding." (Colossians 1:9)

10. Vermont House Passes a Staggering Abortion Bill - Here's What It Says- Conservative News

The Vermont House voted to pass a staggering bill that would allow abortion at any stage of pregnancy and for any reason whatsoever. Critics say the legislation is more expansive of abortion rights than the extremist bills passed in New York and Virginia.

"Every individual who becomes pregnant has the fundamental right to choose to carry a pregnancy to term, give birth to a child, or to have an abortion," the bill reads.

It passed by a vote of 106 to 36.

The bill would also strip unborn children of any rights or recognition of their personhood by the state. "A fertilized egg, embryo, or fetus shall not have independent rights under Vermont law," it reads. Republicans introduced several amendments to the bill, including one that would require women to receive an ultrasound before aborting their baby, but the objections were voted down by Democrats. (Read more)

- Father of all, Lord of Creation, we humbly weep in repentance for this horrifying legislation in Vermont. We have allowed it; we have not taken a firm stand in unity as Your people. Have mercy on us, and on the souls of these babies who cannot defend themselves against the spirit of murder.

- "These six things the Lord hates, yes seven are an abomination to Him: a proud look, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood." (Proverbs 6:16)

The New Communist Party

There is a new communistic party arising out of the Democratic Party under the guise of Democratic Socialists. Senator Bernie Sanders (D-VT) is the current leading contender for the Democratic Party presidential nomination. He is a communist disguised as something more acceptable to Americans-a progressive or a Democratic Socialist. He is joined by a younger member of his political persuasion, who is also making national headlines, Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY). Joining them are Democratic Presidential hopefuls Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-MA), who lied about having Native American heritage, and Senator Kamala Harris (D-CA)-all communists disguised as Democrats.

This Democratic Party shift from being the moderate to liberal party in America to outright socialist and communist is the Hegelian Dialectic at its best. The Dialectic is how communists move masses of people toward their brand of politics. It relies on creating a mental conflict of an antithesis to the current thesis and then moving masses of people to a new synthesis. The current thesis (though it is changing) is a Republic built on capitalism. The antithesis is a communistic utopia of "green" programs redistributing wealth so everyone has free everything provided by the government. The synthesis is designed to move Americans toward a communistic system, where government replaces God.

Transgenders in the News

Transgender high school athletes spark controversy, debate in Connecticut

Andraya Yearwood hears the comments, usually from adults and usually not to her face. She shouldn't be running, they say, not against girls.

Yearwood, a 17-year-old junior at Cromwell High School, is one of two transgender high school sprinters in Connecticut, transitioning to female. She recently finished second in the 55-meter dash at the state open indoor track championships. The winner, Terry Miller of Bloomfield High, is also transgender and set a girls state indoor record of 6.95 seconds. Yearwood finished in 7.01 seconds and the third-place competitor, who is not transgender, finished in 7.23 seconds.

Miller and Yearwood also topped the 100-meter state outdoor championships last year, and Miller won the 300 indoors this season. (Fox News) Read more.

FRC Fights Back

As Senate Rejects Born Alive Abortion Survivors Act, FRC Announces Campaign to Send Baby Hats by the Thousands to Congress

Washington, D.C. -- In response to the U.S. Senate's rejection today of the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Act, Family Research Council is launching a campaign to deliver thousands of baby hats to Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi. Each hat will be accompanied by a message urging the House of Representatives to end birthday abortions and take decisive action to protect all babies born alive from being killed outside the womb.

Family Research Council President Tony Perkins made the following comments about the "End Birthday Abortion" campaign:

"In a civilized society, there should brightly colored moral lines that neither party will cross. The killing of infants should be one of them. But Senate Democrats crossed that line today, putting every American on notice that there is no bridge too far, no policy too extreme. This should not be a partisan issue, but it is telling how extreme the Democrats have become that they even refuse to condemn infanticide.

"The first article of clothing a baby gets in the delivery room is a thermal hat with blue and pink stripes. That's what we would hope for every newborn. Instead, a shocking 21 states fail to protect babies born alive from being killed outside the womb. We want to send a reminder to Speaker Pelosi and her colleagues in the House that babies should be met with the warmth of a hat, not with the cold steel of scissors or an examination table.

"This should be a reminder to pray. As you join with us in collecting these hats and sending them to Speaker Pelosi, remember that no elected official is beyond the reach of God. Let us pray for all those in positions of authority. When they are confronted with these baby hats as a visible symbol of what they are doing, may God prick their consciences and move them to pass legislation to protect born-alive infants from further harm," concluded Perkins.

Classic Hymns

AND CAN IT BE THAT I SHOULD GAIN?

"Suddenly an angel of the Lord appeared and a light shone in the cell. He struck Peter on the side and woke him up. "Quick, get up!" he said, and the chains fell off Peter's wrists." (Acts 12:7)

Lyrics

And can it be that I should gain An interest in the Savior's blood? Died He for me, who caused His pain- For me, who Him to death pursued? Amazing love! How can it be, That Thou, my God, shouldst die for me? Amazing love! How can it be, That Thou, my God, shouldst die for me?

'Tis mystery all: th'Immortal dies: Who can explore His strange design? In vain the firstborn seraph tries To sound the depths of love divine. 'Tis mercy all! Let earth adore, Let angel minds inquire no more. 'Tis mercy all! Let earth adore; Let angel minds inquire no more.

He left His Father's throne above So free, so infinite His grace- Emptied Himself of all but love, And bled for Adam's helpless race: 'Tis mercy all, immense and free, For O my God, it found out me! 'Tis mercy all, immense and free, For O my God, it found out me!

Long my imprisoned spirit lay, Fast bound in sin and nature's night; Thine eye diffused a quickening ray- I woke, the dungeon flamed with light; My chains fell off, my heart was free, I rose, went forth, and followed Thee. My chains fell off, my heart was free, I rose, went forth, and followed Thee.

Still the small inward voice I hear, That whispers all my sins forgiven; Still the atoning blood is near, That quenched the wrath of hostile Heaven. I feel the life His wounds impart; I feel the Savior in my heart. I feel the life His wounds impart; I feel the Savior in my heart.

No condemnation now I dread; Jesus, and all in Him, is mine; Alive in Him, my living head, And clothed in righteousness divine, Bold I approach th'eternal throne, And claim the crown, through Christ my own. Bold I approach th'eternal throne, And claim the crown, through Christ my own.

A 'Dragon Aurora' Appeared in the Sky Over Iceland
and NASA Is a Little Confused

An aurora that resembles a dragon recently loomed in the skies over Iceland, and NASA scientists aren't exactly sure why it showed up when it did in February 2019.

As much as any of us would like to see a real dragon breathe flames into the winter sky, buzzkill NASA blames solar activity - as usual - for the writhing, "fire-breathing"- aurora that loomed over Iceland earlier this month.

Auroras like this occur when some of the sun's many magnetic field lines twist together and burst, creating sunspots. Charged particles gush out of these spots and soar on the solar wind deep into space. If Earth happens to be in the way of such a stellar energy storm, the particles crash into our planet's own magnetic field and careen through our atmosphere toward the poles. Along the way, those particles interact with molecules of oxygen, nitrogen and other elements in our atmosphere to create the dazzling light show we call the aurora.

Arizona Democrats Wanted to Lift Ban on Infanticide, Then Pro-Lifer's Packed the Capitol in Protest; See What Happened

(Phoenix, AZ)-[Lifesitenews.com] Amid intense protests from hundreds of Arizonans, an Arizona House committee voted Wednesday to reject proposed legislation that would have repealed long-standing legal protections for infants who survive abortions in that state.

Democrat state Rep. Raquel Terán had introduced House Bill 2696 with the intent of repealing a 2017 law requiring abortionists to attempt to resuscitate any baby "delivered alive," defined as displaying breathing, a heartbeat, umbilical cord pulsation, and/or voluntary muscle movement. Abortion defenders objected that it would go too far in applying to fetal-abnormality cases.

But thanks to what Terán calls a "drafting error," her bill would have repealed the entire 1975 law the 2017 act modified, thereby erasing the state's basic requirement that doctors use all "available means and medical skills" to save infants after botched abortions.

"Hundreds" of pro-lifers "filled" the Capitol Wednesday to protest HB 2696, the Arizona Republic reports. After the bill had been amended to correct the alleged blunder and repeal only the 2017 language, the House Judiciary Committee voted 8-0 to reject the bill. (Read more)

About CHPP

About Capitol Hill Prayer Partners

Our Mission Statement

Capitol Hill Prayer Partners (CHPP) is a ministry which is positioned on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., helping members of the Body of Christ to "pray for those in authority over us" in our federal government. Our primary purpose is to offer intercession on site for the members of Congress and their staffs each day that the Senate and the House of Representatives are in session; and our chief prayer focus is that "God's will be done in earth, as it is in heaven." [Matthew 6:10].

Because Jesus Christ has shed His blood for all, we, too, pray for ALL, in a nonpartisan manner. Also, because the scriptures indicate that "the effectual, fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much" (James 4:17), we are confident that fervent prayer, offered in the halls of the highest chambers of government in our land, can avail much for America. Capitol Hill Prayer Partners welcomes those who feel called to join us, engaging in this strategic work of intercession for our nation: "For there is no power but of God; the powers that be are ordained of God." [Romans 13:1]
