News from the White House

1. Trump declares emergency on border, eyes $8B for wall as he signs spending package - Fox News

President Trump said Friday he is declaring a national emergency on the southern border, tapping into executive powers in a bid to divert billions toward construction of a wall even as he signs a funding package that includes just $1.4 billion for border security.

"We're going to confront the national security crisis on our southern border . . . one way or the other, we have to do it," Trump said in the Rose Garden.

The move is expected to face a swift and forceful legal challenge that could stall the attempt in the courts for the near future. But the declaration and other money-moving plans allow Trump to continue to fight for border wall construction while also averting another partial government shutdown -- which would have been triggered at midnight absent the new funding package. He signed the spending deal Friday afternoon. (Fox News) Read more.

- Lord God, we thank You that our President has taken this step, and we rededicate ourselves to supporting this action in the days ahead. In Your Name, amen.

- " . . . honor the king." (I Peter 2:17)

2. President Trump on 'Solid Legal Ground' to End the Crisis on our Southern Border - New York Daily News

"President Trump will have the law on his side when he uses the power of his office to secure the U.S. border with Mexico," writes former U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia Joseph DiGenova in the New York Daily News.

"The current political reality in Washington ensures that the crisis on our southern border will continue to go unresolved unless the executive branch steps in. Fortunately, both the Constitution and the Congress have placed the authority to do so firmly with the President of the United States." (Read more)

3. Where Trump won: Historic ICE funding, triple wall miles, killed 'poison pills'- Washington Examiner

Republicans are pushing back on reports that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., beat President Trump in the latest budget shutdown fight, claiming that Congress approved historic funding levels for Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Border Patrol, added miles to the border wall, and erased the cap on criminal illegal immigrants that can be jailed.

Insiders who worked on the deal said that compared to going along with a spending continuing resolution, the GOP scored several wins, though it did not reach the $5.7 billion funding Trump wanted for the wall.

"I know the conventional wisdom is that he lost on the wall in this package. But he gained . . . under impossible conditions," said one insider on background. (Read more)

4. Venezuela was my home, and socialism destroyed it. Slowly, it will destroy America, too. - USA Today

Even though so many of us Venezuelans fled to America to escape from the destructive consequences of socialism, liberal politicians like Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., and Rep. José Serrano, D-N.Y., have praised the same kind of policies that produced famine, mass exodus and soaring inflation in Venezuela.

Even worse, in recent weeks, Democratic Representatives Ilhan Omar, Ro Khanna, and Tulsi Gabbard have mischaracterized the current protests against Maduro and condemned President Trump's widely-supported moves to help end Maduro's dictatorship.

Additionally, many congressional Democrats support "Medicare-for-all" and the "Green New Deal," proposals that would nationalize the health insurance industry, guarantee everyone who wants it a job and massively raise taxes, increasing government intervention in the economy like few countries except Cuba and Venezuela have seen before. Proponents think that they can give all Americans quality health care, housing, and everything for free and that somehow politicians can do a better job at running a business than the business owners themselves.

These proposals would skyrocket the budget deficit and national debt, which just reached a record $22 trillion. If that is not enough, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, endorsed paying for the proposal by asking the Federal Reserve to print money. This is exactly what produced Venezuela's nightmare. (Read more)

5. Pence calls on EU to withdraw from Iran nuclear deal - Jerusalem Post

US Vice President Mike Pence accused Washington's European allies of trying to break US sanctions against Tehran and called on them to withdraw from the Iran nuclear deal, during the Warsaw ministerial conference on Thursday.

"Sadly, some of our leading European partners have not been nearly as cooperative. In fact, they have led the effort to create mechanisms to break up our sanctions," Pence said.

The US withdrew from the international accord last May. The other signatories, Iran, the European Union, Germany, France, Russia, the United Kingdom and China, remain in the deal.

Pence accused the EU of setting up a scheme with Iran "to break American sanctions against Iran's murderous revolutionary regime."
"It is an ill-advised step that will only strengthen Iran, weaken the EU and create still more distance between Europe and the United States," he said. (Read more)

- Father, we pray that the heads of the nations in the European Union would back this plan to withdraw support from the Iranian nuclear deal. We pray for a miracle, in Your name, amen.

- "Ah, Sovereign LORD, you have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and outstretched arm. Nothing is too hard for you." (Jeremiah 32:17)

6. Kashmir attack: India says Pakistan had 'direct hand' in deadly convoy strike - CNN

India said there was "incontrovertible evidence" that Pakistan had a "direct hand" in a bomb attack on a convoy that killed at least 40 people in Indian-administered Kashmir.

After a Cabinet Committee on Security meeting on Friday, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said in a statement that India would initiate "all possible diplomatic steps" to "ensure the complete isolation from the international community of Pakistan, of which incontrovertible evidence is available of having a direct hand in this gruesome terrorist incident."

Jaitley added that India would downgrade diplomatic relations by withdrawing its "most favored nation status" to Pakistan -- a largely symbolic title.

Thursday's attack on a convoy of Indian soldiers killed 40 and wounded five, said M. Dhinakaran, deputy inspector general of the Central Reserve Police Force. It was deadliest attack on security forces since the beginning of the insurgency in the late 1980s.

The Indian government has blamed Pakistan-based terrorist organization Jaish-e-Mohammed for the attack. (Read more)

- Father God, we ask for divine wisdom to be granted to President Trump and his security advisors as they assess this volatile situation. Because both Pakistan and India are armed with nuclear weapons, Lord God, we position ourselves as watchmen on the wall and covenant to keep a watch eye upon this precarious circumstance. In Your Name, amen.

- "For the Lord said to me, "Go, set a watchman. Let him declare what he sees." (Isaiah 21:6)

Again, the media fails

At the risk of offending some who attended public school and to enlighten others, there are three branches of government in the United States-Executive (President), Legislative (Congress), and Judicial (Supreme Court). As a journalism student at The Ohio State University, we were often told of the fourth branch of government. It is an unofficial branch, called the Fourth Estate. One of the first uses of the term is attributed to Edmund Burke, the Irish statesman, who used it in a parliamentary debate in 1787 when he referenced the three estates of parliament then pointed to the press gallery as the fourth estate that was to hold the other three accountable. Today's news media fails this historic responsibility.

True journalism is to report the news from an unbiased vantage. Today's journalism blurs the lines between sensationalism, editorializing, agenda promotion, propaganda, and quite frankly, lastly-the facts and truth of news. One such technique is called "click bait," which uses a headline to get you to look at the story, but then the story says the opposite of the headline. Another is to bring in a bunch of so-called "experts" to analyze and debate the headlines. These are usually people with a biased agenda, but they are positioned to you as news analysts. Another technique is the "stand-up on sight" reporter, who comes across as an eyewitness, but views the event from a biased, agenda-driven lens.

Proof positive is a report by media watchdog Media Research Center that states: "It's been two days since NBC's exclusive reporting that the Senate Intelligence Committee has found no material evidence of collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia, and as of yet none of the three major broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, and NBC) have given it even a single second of coverage in their evening newscasts. Considering these networks have given the Russia probe a massive 2,202 minutes of airtime, their silence on this major development is deafening the Russia investigation accounted for nearly 19 percent of all Trump-related reporting between January 21, 2017 and February 10, 2019. However none of those three shows have even mentioned the investigation since NBC's report came out on February 12."

If we do not have media reform as a nation, our freedoms are in jeopardy. Jesus said in John 8:32, "And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." He said in John 14:6, "I am the way, the truth and the life, no man comes unto the Father but by me." As Christian Americans, we know the truth. We should demand it of our media. How? Quit watching these news channels; don't buy their papers; don't believe anything they report. Find news sources that report the truth, and make sure others are verifying their stories. Don't be dupes by falling for stories that are not true. Practice discernment. As a prophetic people watching for the return of Christ, we must work hard to heed the warning of Christ in Matthew 24:4, "Take heed that no man deceive you."

Have a blessed and powerful day,

Of killing babies and demonizing Jews

There have been a couple of incidents in the news lately that are repulsive to the point that the people involved should be removed from any leadership or public position in America. I'm talking about the crazy mess in Virginia with the Governor, Lieutenant Governor, and Attorney General. There is also the case of the Islamic Congresswoman that all the media is raving about. It seems that there is no compunction about the ramifications of wanting to kill babies coming out of the womb or demonizing Jews because, well, they are Jews. These people should be removed from office for their depravity, but they are still there. This is an indicator of a morally-declining country and a disengaged electorate.

Congresswoman Ilhan Omar (D-MN) raised her Islamic flag against Jews this week by tweeting out that the American Israel Public Affairs Committee paid members to support Israel, despite the fact that AIPAC does not endorse or contribute to candidates. She apologized for the remarks, but also retweeted a statement from the Muslim Public Affairs Committee saying that it was proud of her for refusing to fall prey to smear campaigns. A cadre of socialist democrats came to her defense. These come on the heels of a January tweet by another Islamic congresswoman, Rashida Tlaib (D-MI), who said Americans who support Israel "forgot what country they represent." The Democratic leadership appointed Omar to the House Foreign Affairs Committee, which impacts policy toward Israel and Islamic countries.

In Virginia, Governor Ralph Northam and Attorney General Mark Herring admitted they wore blackface for pictures in college (as did Hillary Clinton, by the way). And a woman has publicly accused Lieutenant Governor Justin Fairfax of sexual assault. All this ignored the real issue of supporting the "Murder on Demand" bill introduced by Democrat Virginia state legislator Kathy Tran that makes it legal to kill a baby in the birth canal at full term. Despite the firestorm created by the racism and that they are in support of such heinous legislation legalizing infanticide, they remain at the top of the Virginia government. Neither Democrats or Republicans are taking any serious steps beyond lip service to remove them.

The Islamists in Congress are using their own hate to accuse those of hate who oppose their anti-Semitic views. There is no place in this country or, in the world for that matter, to support the words and actions of hate against Jews. These Hitler-esq comments are part and parcel to the aims of Islamic organizations that support these congressional Islamists, the so-called "Palestinian" cause, the propaganda of Islam, and the generational hate that Islamists have for the Jewish people. The Virginia leadership is indicative of both the systemic racism and disrespect for life that many in the Democratic Party share in the name of health for women. These things ought not be. The electorate should rise up against them and demand their ouster. For so many reasons, it is akin to John 11:35, which simply states: "Jesus wept."

Have a Blessed and Powerful Day!

Focus on Ocasio-Cortez

Ocasio-Cortez Blamed for Amazon's Exit From New York City

Amazon is blaming local politicians for its shock decision to abandon plans to open a new headquarters in New York City - and Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio Cortez's vehement opposition appears to have been the main catalyst.

In a statement released late Wednesday morning, Amazon said "a number of state and local politicians have made it clear that they oppose our presence and will not work with us to build the type of relationships that are required to go forward with the project we and many others envisioned in Long Island City."

Ocasio-Cortez has trashed the Amazon expansion and encouraged opposition against it, writing, "Can everyday people come together and effectively organize against creeping overreach of one of the world's biggest corporations? Yes, they can."

She further complained: "Amazon is a billion-dollar company. The idea that it will receive hundreds of millions of dollars in tax breaks at a time when our subway is crumbling and our communities need MORE investment, not less, is extremely concerning to residents here."

The self-described Democratic socialist's sentiments are entirely opposite of those of fellow New York Democrats, New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio and Gov. Andrew Cuomo, both of whom approved of Amazon's move and helped broker the deal.
Rep. Pete King, (R-NY) on Thursday blamed "left wing progressive politicians" for Amazon's pull out.

"Absolutely disgraceful that @Amazon is driven from New York by left wing progressive politicians. Terrible loss of jobs for New York workers and New York economy," he tweeted. (Newsmax) Read more.

- Father God, we thank You that big business is watching Ocasio-Cortez and standing against her socialist agenda. We pray that many other voices will be raised against her plans, echoing that of our President in his State of the Union Address: "The United States will never be a socialist nation." Amen!

- "When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against him." (Isaiah 59:19)

Operation Restoration

Operation Restoration

Once each week, on Sunday mornings and for 24 hours, join with others in OPERATION RESTORATION . . .

"Operation Restoration"

This initiative is based upon the Move of the Spirit that was launched last month during Operation Refiner's Fire. The LORD has shown us that He has used those fires to ignite the FIRE of the HOLY SPIRIT to visit our people, which He now yearns to keep burning among our people until the day of His return!

"Operation Restoration" is based on the promise of Scripture, recorded in
2 Chronicles 7:14,15.

It is written:

. . . "and if My people who are called by My name humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

"Now My eyes will be open and My ears attentive to the prayer offered in this place."

This is a weekly Solemn Assembly, where saints can feel free to gather each Sunday, to offer prayers of repentance before our Lord, for the many sins our nation has committed before Him.

Abba so desires to hear our prayers . . . He is just waiting to heal us!

You can join us, any Sunday, beginning at 9:00 a.m. EST by calling:
605-468-8850
Access Code: 221654#
Each week, our conference line for Operation Restoration will remain open until Monday morning at 9:00 a.m.EST -- allowing for 24 hours of nonstop prayer before our King of Kings, that He might, indeed, "heal our land." Amen.

Weekly Prayer Focus

Weekly Prayer Focus:

For the week of February 9 - 15, 2019

Published by the National Prayer Embassy

The third Monday of February each year, this year February 18th is an American national holiday known as "President's Day." Begun in 1885 in recognition of George Washington's Birthday on February 22nd. In 1971 the holiday was moved and became known as "President's Day" as a part of the Uniform Monday Holiday Act, which created more three-day weekends. Now "President's Day" is popularly viewed as a day to celebrate all U.S. Presidents, past and present. This is especially pertinent this year as many observers have noted a soft civil war or attempted propaganda coup being waged for the past three years against the current U.S. President by some. One observer recently noted that the number of anti-Trump top-level FBI resignations or firings almost matches the number of pro-Trump campaign advisors who have been investigated, arrested and jailed for what some have described as politically-motivated entrapment by a former FBI director. A few months ago President Trump retweeted a cartoon which showed two past U.S. Presidents in jail with a number of other anti-Trump political leaders under the caption: "Now that Russian collusion is proven lie, when do the trials for treason begin?"

Let's pray: "Father God, in the name of Jesus, we thank You for helping us to restore the rule of law and the fear of God in our nation. Your word says in Amos Chapter five verse 24, "Let judgement run down as waters, and righteousness as a mighty stream" in other words let God's will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Genesis chapter 18 verse 25 calls You the Judge of all the earth who will do right. Only You, Lord, know the hearts of all people and what is best for all concerned, so we lift up to You the current turmoil surrounding our president, and we say Jesus' blood covers our president and Jesus is Lord for giving us quiet and peaceable lives in all godliness and honesty, as You do what is best for all concerned, not too much nor too little, in bringing peace and righteous government to our land, in Jesus' name, Amen!"
