Honoring Holy Week . . .

Reflections for Holy Week

Reflections for Holy Week:

Day Five: Maundy Thursday

Thursday, March 29, 2018

> > > Please read I Corinthians 15: 35-43

As we approach the celebration of Good Friday, I'm reminded of the seven sayings of Jesus from the cross and of the glory and the power in each saying.

Now even His loyal Twelve had left. And at last we hear Him cry out, "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?" (Mark 15:34). Not only had He been forsaken by His human companions, but now in that desperate and lonely hour, He- because He was bearing our sins in His own body on the cross-had been forsaken by God. Jesus was enduring the suffering and judgment of Hell for you and for me.

How can you show your gratitude to God for allowing His Son to endure the shame and suffering of the cross?

Focus on Israel

1. Trump Will Not Attend US Embassy Launch in Jerusalem - United with Israel

President Donald Trump will not travel to Israel to attend the historic opening of the US Embassy in Jerusalem on May 14, Hadashot TV reported Tuesday evening. With the opening scheduled to coincide with Israel's 70th Independence Day celebrations, Trump had said he may visit Israel for the facility's inauguration.

"We're looking at coming, if I can I will, Israel is very special to me, special country, special people, I look forward to being there and I'm very proud of that decision," he said during Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's visit to Washington earlier this month.

Commenting at the time on his official recognition of Jerusalem as the Israeli capital and his decision to move the embassy there, Trump said that the US now has "probably the best relationship with Israel we've ever had. We're as close now as maybe ever before. Jerusalem was a wonderful thing, and I know it was very much appreciated in a big part of the world, not just in Israel, so that was a decision that I had to make."

2. IDF to southern residents: Carry your weapons over the holiday - Israel National News

The IDF's Home Front Command ordered residents of Gaza Belt communities to carry their personal weapons over the upcoming holiday, Channel 2 reported on Wednesday.

Gaza Belt communities are those immediately bordering Gaza, up to 10 kilometers (6.2 miles) away. The Pesach (Passover) holiday begins on Friday at sundown.

The Home Front Command's warning comes after Gazans announced their intention to march towards Israel in a "march of return," scheduled to take place on Friday.

According to Channel 2, Israel's security forces decided that in addition to widescale preparations, civilians living in areas bordering Gaza need to be prepared for "every situation."

3. High Alert On Gaza Border After String Of Incursions - Jerusalem Post

A string of illegal crossings from the Gaza Strip into Israel have left the IDF on high alert. The IDF arrested a suspect who crossed into Israeli territory from the northern Gaza Strip Wednesday, according to the IDF Spokesperson's Unit.

The suspect, who was unarmed, was arrested near the breach point and was taken in for questioning by security forces.

Hours earlier, IDF tanks shelled two Hamas observation posts after two Palestinians were spotted near the old Karni crossing trying to set fire to army engineering equipment close to the security fence.

4. Israel deploys 100 sharpshooters on Gaza border for Palestinian protests: Israeli army chief - Reuters

JERUSALEM/GAZA (Reuters) - The Israeli military has deployed more than 100 sharpshooters on the Gaza border ahead of a planned mass Palestinian demonstration, Israel's top general said in an interview published on Wednesday.

Organizers said they expect thousands in Gaza, including entire families, to answer their call to gather in tent cities in five locations along the sensitive border from Friday in a six-week protest for a right of return of Palestinian refugees to what is now Israel.

Citing security concerns, the Israeli military enforces a "no go" zone for Palestinians on land in Gaza adjacent to Israel's border fence.

5. Shock and emotion follow barbaric murder of Holocaust survivor in Paris - JNS

(March 27, 2018 / EJP / Exclusive to JNS) The umbrella representative body of French Jewish organizations, known as Crif, has called for a rally on Wednesday in Paris in memory of Mireille Knoll, an 85-year-old Jewish woman brutally killed in her apartment.

Knoll, who lived alone in the 11th district of Paris, was found after her apartment was set ablaze, police sources said. An autopsy showed her charred body also had at least 11 stab wounds.

A Holocaust survivor, Knoll had managed to evade as a child the 1942 Vel d'Hiv Nazi-directed roundup by French police of more than 13,000 Jews who were sent to Nazi death camps.

Her murder, one year after a similar crime against Sarah Halimi, a 66-year-old Jewish teacher and physician, by her Muslim neighbor caused shock and emotion within the Jewish community.

- Heavenly Father, we lift up the family of Mireille Knoll up to You. We ask that You comfort and give strength to them. We ask that You release Your Shalom over them right now to fill them with peace that passes understanding as they grieve. We pray that they would draw close to you and that their suffering would somehow be used for the glory of Your Kingdom. In the name of Yeshua, amen.

6. IDF Warns of Severe Response to Hamas Border March of Return TOMORROW - United with Israel

he IDF has vowed to use all measures at its disposal to ensure that a planned Hamas-led mass march from Gaza onto Israel's border this coming Friday will not escalate into a violent, mass-casualty incident.

In an interview with the Arabic-language Alhurra channel on Wednesday, Maj. Gen. Yoav Mordechai, head of the Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT), referred to Hamas' failure in running the Gaza Strip and said that the IDF's response will be strong.

"Anyone who approaches the border is endangering his life," Mordechai warned, stressing the IDF's message that it did not view the march as a peaceful civilian march, as Hamas is trying to portray it.

"From my point of view, if bus companies you own take some of the protestors and bring them to the border, you and your families will be held personally responsible. If you enjoyed benefits in the past, they will be canceled," Mordechai said in an interview with the US-based satellite TV channel. (Read more)

Prayer targets:

Pray that the Gaza citizens will heed the warning from IDF that they are being used as human "decoys".
Pray that few if any Gazans will show up to the march on the border on March 30th.

The Daily Brief

1. Trump Scores His First Revised Trade Deal, With South Korea - Bloomberg

President Donald Trump secured his first revamp of a U.S. trade deal, after reaching an agreement this week with South Korea that would allow American automakers greater access to that country's markets, senior administration officials said on Tuesday night. The agreement came as the U.S. has been involved in renegotiating the North American Free Trade Agreement with Canada and Mexico and has imposed tariffs that have roiled financial markets.

The deal removes a major economic irritant as the allies prepare for high-stakes meetings on North Korea. Trump and South Korean President Moon Jae-In are planning separate meetings with North Korea's Kim Jong Un in the coming weeks. Kim made a surprise visit to China this week and met with President Xi Jinping. China's official news agency said on Thursday that Kim would be willing to give up his nuclear weapons and hold a summit with the U.S. (Read more)

- Father God, we thank You for this news, and we ask a blessing upon President Trump as he works daily and tirelessly to strengthen our ties with all of our allies overseas. Amen.

- "Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence." (I Timothy 2:1,2)

2. Trump ousts Shulkin as head of Veterans Affairs - The Hill

President Trump is removing Veterans Affairs Secretary David Shulkin from his post after a rocky couple of months that started with a scathing report accusing him of misusing taxpayer dollars. Trump announced on Twitter on Wednesday that he would be nominating his personal White House physician to the top VA spot: Shulkin, the only holdover in Trump's Cabinet from former President Obama's administration, had been in the hot seat for months, though the White House as recently as Monday said Trump retained confidence in the secretary. The statement of confidence came in response to reports that Trump was telling associates that Shulkin was on the way out. The VA secretary initially appeared to be the least controversial of Trump's Cabinet members. Shulkin was confirmed unanimously and appeared frequently in the White House briefing room during Trump's first year to tout accomplishments.

Feelings on Shulkin began to sour in February, when the VA's inspector general released a report on a trip to Europe last summer that found Shulkin spent most of the time sightseeing rather than conducting official business and improperly accepted tickets to a Wimbledon tennis match as a gift. It also said a top aide, who has since resigned, altered an email to gain approval to use taxpayer money to pay for Shulkin's wife to accompany him on the trip. More bad news for Shulkin has since piled up, including reports of another inspector general investigation into an allegation that Shulkin asked a member of his security detail to accompany him to a Home Depot and carry furniture items into his home. - Lord of Armies, we lift up our veterans to You and pray for the reforms needed to improve their healthcare. We pray Ronny Jackson will receive quick confirmation through the Senate and have great wisdom as he oversees this important department.

- Who is the one qualified to oversee the master's house? He will be a reliable servant who is wise and faithful, one he can depend on. The master will want to give him the responsibility of overseeing others in his house, for his servant will lead them well and give them food at the right time. (Matthew 24:45)

3. Trump says conservatives must always hold the Supreme Court after former justice talks gun repeal - Washington Times

President Trump pushed back on the idea of repealing the Second Amendment on Wednesday, arguing that it's one of the key reasons conservatives must retain control of the Supreme Court. "THE SECOND AMENDMENT WILL NEVER BE REPEALED! As much as Democrats would like to see this happen, and despite the words yesterday of former Supreme Court Justice Stevens, NO WAY. We need more Republicans in 2018 and must ALWAYS hold the Supreme Court!" Mr. Trump tweeted.

The former Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens said Tuesday that student protesters should argue for the repeal of the Second Amendment. He wrote in a New York Times op-ed that the law was a "relic" of another time when the concern was standing armies. (Read more)

- Father, we pray for Godly men and women throughout our judicial system to uphold Constitutional law, reliably protecting the liberty of American citizens for many generations to come.

- You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me, but showing love to a thousand generations of those who love me and keep my commandments. (Exodus 20:5-6)

4. Congress Targets Online Human Trafficking - Liberty Counsel

The U.S. House and Senate passed a bill to stop online human sex trafficking. H.R. 1865, known as the Allow States and Victims to Fight Online Sex Trafficking Act of 2017, targets online sex trafficking and subjects websites to federal criminal and civil liability when users misuse online personals. The bill awaits President Trump to sign it into law. H.R. 1865 "amends the federal criminal code to add a new section that imposes penalties-a fine, a prison term of up to 10 years, or both-on a person who, using a facility or means of interstate or foreign commerce, owns, manages, or operates an interactive computer service (or attempts or conspires to do so) to promote or facilitate the prostitution of another person."

As a result, several of the top websites where sex traffickers sell their victims have now shut down. Craigslist announced it is removing .its "Personals" sections. The Erotic Review has removed prostitution ads and Reddit took down its "Hookers" forum page and other related forums due to the bill. Cityvibe is also down. "We applaud Congress for passing this bill to stop online human trafficking and eagerly await President Trump's signature," said Mat Staver, Founder and Chairman of Liberty Counsel. "This bill it is a good first step toward shutting down the heinous crime of human sex trafficking on the internet. Neither the First Amendment nor any other part of the Constitution protects the criminal and heinous acts of selling and buying children and adults for sex. There is still much work to do to prevent children and adults from being victims of these horrific crimes," said Staver. (Read more)

- Father, we pray President Trump will sign this bill into law quickly giving law enforcement another tool to rescue trafficked people and shut down internet sites that facilitate their exploitation.

- The Lord replies, "I have seen violence done to the helpless, and I have heard the groans of the poor. Now I will rise up to rescue them, as they have longed for me to do. (Psalm 12:5)

5. FBI doubles staff in response to subpoena for alleged FISA abuse, Hillary Clinton email probe documents - Washington Examiner

FBI Director Christopher Wray said on Tuesday that he is doubling the number of FBI staff to handle House Judiciary Chairman Rep. Bob Goodlatte's records request related to the panel's inquiry into alleged bias at the Justice Department, as well as the investigation into the handling of the Hillary Clinton private emails probe. "The staff will work two shifts per day from 8 a.m to midnight "to expedite completion of this project," he said. "I agree that the current pace of production is too slow," said Wray, adding, "As the Director of the FBI, I am committed to ensuring that the Bureau is being transparent and responsive to legitimate congressional requests."

Goodlatte, R-Va., sent a subpoena last week to the Justice Department for documents related to the agency's investigation into Clinton's private email server in 2016. Goodlatte and House Oversight Chairman Trey Gowdy, R-S.C., requested the documents four months ago. "Given the Department's ongoing delays in producing these documents, I am left with no choice but to issue the enclosed subpoena to compel production of these documents," Goodlatte said in a Thursday letter. The subpoena also seeks documents on possible abuses pertaining to the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act. (Read more)

- Father, we pray these additional agents will bring the FBI and DOJ into compliance with the subpoena from Congress quickly.

- Now, we realize that everything the law says is addressed to those who are under its authority. This is for two reasons: So that every excuse will be silenced, with no boasting of innocence. And so that the entire world will be held accountable to God's standards. (Romans 3:19)

6. IG will probe FBI abuses of FISA, after Trump surveillance - Washington Times

The Justice Department's inspector general confirmed Wednesday that it is looking into how the department and the FBI handled requests to conduct secret surveillance, in what appears to be a review of how the Obama administration used the anti-Trump Steele dossier. The review will look at what the FBI and Justice Department knew at the time they requested surveillance of "a U.S. person" - likely former Trump campaign figure Carter Page - and whether the government was forthcoming in what it told the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act court about the justification for snooping.

He did not say Mr. Page was the case in question, but the description of the facts - including "an alleged FBI confidential source" - points to Christopher Steele, the former British spy who while being paid by the Democratic National Committee compiled a dossier of anti-Trump information. Mr. Horowitz said the FBI's and Justice Department's "relationship and communications" with the source would also be reviewed. Top Republicans on Capitol Hill had long pushed for a review of the FBI's handling of the matter. They said the FBI and Justice Department hid the full origins of the controversial Steele dossier from the secret FISA court. (Read more)

- Father, we pray a divine hedge of protection around Inspector General Horowitz, his staff and all of their families as they move forward with their investigations.

- For you are my hiding place; you protect me from trouble. You surround me with songs of victory. (Psalm 32:7)

7. Bolton Poised To Make Big Changes At NSC To Make Sure 'The Leaks Stop' - Daily Caller

Incoming national security adviser John Bolton is poised to make policy and personnel changes at the highest levels of the National Security Council, officials familiar with Bolton's thinking and Trump's National Security Council tell The Daily Caller. These officials tell TheDC Bolton has been charged by President Donald Trump to stop national security leaks from inside the administration and to change the current relationship between the NSC and the president. A representative for Bolton declined to comment. "Bolton understands that the NSC's job is to implement the president's policy, not to influence policy," a former Trump NSC official told TheDC.

The former official said he believes Bolton will "start at the top" of the NSC staff but warned that he won't stop there if need be. "He's going to keep digging down lower levels until he's certain the leaks have stopped." Asked specifically about Nadia Schadlow, deputy national security adviser under McMaster, TheDC's source said he was sure she would be gone, adding that her think tank background would likely clash with Bolton. Both former officials however noted that Bolton is a "methodical, strategic thinker" who appreciates a staff with differing view points.(Read more)

- Father, we pray incoming National Security Advisor Bolton will quickly make the staffing changes needed to bring the NSA into alignment with the Trump Administration's goals. We pray against retaliation towards him or President Trump because of this change.

- You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you! (Isaiah 26:3)

8. Orange County to join fight against California sanctuary law - One News Now

California and its Democratic-controlled Legislature have courted a reputation for leading resistance against the Trump administration's efforts to deal with illegal immigration. But at the local level, there's a brewing backlash. On Tuesday, the Orange County Board of Supervisors voted to condemn the state's sanctuary law and to join a U.S. Justice Department lawsuit that contends it's unconstitutional. The law, Senate Bill 54, limits police cooperation with federal immigration authorities. It's a capstone of the effort by Gov. Jerry Brown and legislators who, along with the mayors of the largest cities, have resisted more stringent efforts to deport people who are in the country illegally and opposed Trump's call to build a wall along the entire U.S. border with Mexico.

Orange County, which is home to 3.2 million people and many immigrants, has seen its decades-long reputation as a conservative GOP base erode. Hillary Clinton won more votes than Trump in the county in the 2016 election. But on Tuesday its all-Republican Board of Supervisors voted 4-0 to join the federal lawsuit filed earlier this month against SB 54 and two other pro-immigrant state laws. The county also moved this week to improve communication with federal immigration agents by publishing the release dates of inmates online. The Sheriff's Department used to screen inmates in the county's jails to help Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents identify those subject to deportation but had to stop when the state law passed. (Read more)

- Father, You too are a law-giver and execute justice over the nations. We pray President Trump and Orange County will be successful in affirming the supremacy of Federal law over state law.

- When people do not accept divine guidance, they run wild. But whoever obeys the law is joyful. (Proverbs 29:18)

9. BREAKING: China Makes Shocking Announcement About North Korean Denuclearization - Daily Wire

On Wednesday, China said that it secured a commitment from North Korean leader Kim Jong Un to denuclearize the Korean peninsula during a meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping. In return, Xi reportedly pledged to uphold China's close relationship with North Korea during Kim's visit to China which lasted from Sunday to Wednesday, Reuters reported. "It is our consistent stand to be committed to denuclearization on the peninsula, in accordance with the will of late President Kim Il Sung and late General Secretary Kim Jong Il," Kim said, according to Xinhua. "The issue of denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula can be resolved, if South Korea and the United States respond to our efforts with goodwill, create an atmosphere of peace and stability while taking progressive and synchronous measures for the realization of peace," Kim continued.

Xi said that the decision was a "strategic choice and the only right choice both sides have made based on history and reality, the international and regional structure and the general situation of China-DPRK ties. We are ready to make joint efforts with the DPRK side, conform to the trend of the times, hold high the banner of peace, development, cooperation and mutual benefit, continuously improve the well-being of the two peoples, and make positive contribution to regional peace, stability and development," Xi continued. This latest development comes as President Trump is expected to meet with Kim in the next couple of months to discuss the denuclearization of the Korean peninsula. A new CNN poll released on Tuesday showed that nearly two-thirds of Americans approve of President Trump's plan to meet with Kim, as "The shift in tone between the White House and the North Korean regime seems to have eased Americans' fears about the threat North Korea poses to the US." (Read more)

- Father, we pray China and North Korea will have no choice but to follow through with this plan to denuclearize the Korean peninsula.

- Your almighty hands have captured your foes. You uncovered all who hate you and you seized them. (Psalm 21:8)

10. North Korea begins testing experimental reactor at nuclear site despite 'denuclearization' talk - Fox News

Increased activity at a North Korean nuclear site in recent weeks has tempered expectations among some analysts that the rogue regime will follow through on its promise to denuclearize or negotiate in good faith during a planned May summit with President Trump. Satellite imagery taken last month suggests North Korea has begun preliminary testing of an experimental light water reactor and possibly brought another reactor online at its Yongbyon Nuclear Research Center. Both could be used to produce the fissile materials needed for nuclear bombs. Experts said in a report released on 38 North, a website that specializes in North Korea news and analysis, that activity was detected at a reactor in the Yongbyon complex, located north of Pyongyang.

A military site in the area also showed an increase in personnel. It's unclear what the station is used for, but experts said it may be used for extra security -- or the regime is building a new facility. Another report by Jane's Intelligence Review published earlier this month stated a testing program is now underway on the experimental reactor. The reactor, which was primarily designed to generate electricity for North Koreans, could be operational with "little warning later in 2018 or in 2019." The reactor was completed five years ago and, though it's designed for civilian use, it could be used to produce plutonium or tritium, the report stated. (Read more)

- Father, we know North Korea is likely playing a double-game. We pray for You to uncover all military and nuclear capabilities so our representatives will have a strong negotiating position.

- When our enemies heard that we were aware of their plot and that God had frustrated it, we all returned to the wall, each to our own work. (Nehemiah 4:15)
Then the Lord told me about the plots my enemies were making against me. (Jeremiah 11:18)

The Daily Jot

March 28, 2018

The false security of social networks
Facebook is under federal investigation for its involvement in providing information on its users to Cambridge Analytics, a firm hired by the Trump Presidential campaign. Cambridge used the information to target specific voters with information about the campaign. The brouhaha, however, didn't start there. In 2012, Facebook allowed the previous "president's" campaign to have this private information and use it to target voters. The campaign's director of media analytics Carol Davidson tweeted that Facebook expressed surprise that the campaign was "able to suck out the whole social graph, but they didn't stop us once they realized what we were doing because they were on our side."

Cambridge Analytics actually purchased the data, according to CNBC, from "Global Science Research, which obtained the data through an app and a psychological test taken by the users." This purchase does not violate campaign finance laws (laws that the Democrats pushed for) that disallow contributions by corporations either monetarily or in-kind. The ex "president's" campaign and Facebook, however, may well have violated campaign laws by their collaboration in data mining (spying) for political use. The overall debate, however, is about whether a private person owns his/her private information on a social network and what are the boundaries of the use of that information by outsiders.

In a 2009 interview with the BBC, Facebook Founder Mark Zuckerberg said that the people own their information on Facebook and that Facebook would not share it in any way. The BBC interviewer was pointed, "So just to be clear, you are not going to sell or share any of the information on Facebook?" Zuckerberg replied, "What the terms say is just we're not going to share people's information except for the people they've asked it to be shared." So Zuckerberg told the truth, information shared was information that people on Facebook gave permission to share in terms of use. Maybe they didn't know they gave such permission (never read the terms or checked their security settings), maybe it was permission by omission, or maybe given under deceit, but the people gave permission one way or another just by using Facebook.

A lot is disturbing about this situation. Personal information was made public either by trickery (collecting it in seemingly harmless surveys, etc.), by deceit (Facebook allowing a like-minded political ally to have it), or by selling it. Zuckerberg's socialist political crusading took precedent over the public trust. Billions have been made under the illusion that Facebook users' information was private and secure. Jeremiah 5:26-27 says, "For among my people are found wicked men: they lay wait, as he that sets snares: they set a trap, they catch men. As a cage is full of birds, so are their houses full of deceit: therefore they are become great and waxen rich." If you use any social network, check the terms of use, your privacy settings, and be diligent about the information you give-assume someone is watching.

News from David's Tent

It's Passion Week and Many Things are Blossoming!

Dear Friends,

The remembrance that happens each year, this week, Passion Week, makes us cry, "Worthy is the Lamb!" I'm so thankful for Jesus!

Many things are brewing at Davids Tent DC . . . Jesus just keeps making all things new over and over again! There is so much to praise Him for!

1. State by State . . . Week by Week! This is week is Rhode Island week. Next week is Vermont. The state teams haven't always been well represented, but we want to keep building this so eventually every state will take a week at DTDC with a strong representation each year. Jesus is worthy of that! Our incredible anchor team of full-time staff keep the fire blazing no matter the size of the delegation from the state team each week. Please pray with us for a gaining momentum on this state by state initiative.

2. All Tribes DC - A First Nations Prayer gathering at Davids Tent DC! November 9, 2018! https://www.alltribesdc.org This will probably be a day when everything changes for our generation! When the Native American tribes gather to worship and pray for our Nation in DC - the healing of the land can't be far behind. We are humbled and deeply honored to be hosting this prayer time. The whole week leading up to Nov. 9. will be First Nations week at DTDC.
3. A location change . . . YES again! May 16 we will be moving back to John Marshal Park right beside the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit! (The second highest court in the land.) This is a forced move by the Smithsonian Folk Life festival taking eminent domain of the main stretch of the mall. In mid-July we will move back to where we are now, at 700 Madison Ave NW.
. . . WHAT?! John Marshall Park?! Are you kidding?! Isn't that where they made Davids Tent DC go unplugged (no amplification) for 6 weeks in 2016?

. . . ahem . . . cough . . . yes it is.** We received an apology last year for the way we were treated there. We have requested that an attorney for the Dept. of Interior reach out to the Appellate Court and be pro-active before we move there this May as to the expectations of how we are to operate. Stay tuned . . . I don't expect the tent to be unplugged again.

Jesus is worthy of a Nation's Praise. This is Certain.

Thank you all for your contributions of time, money, musical skills and prayers.

All Glory to God, to Whom it is due,

Jason Hershey

The Passover Lamb

The Passover Lamb

A teaching by Dr. Yolanda McCune

[As promised, this is part two of a two-part series that focuses on forgiveness, written by Dr. Yolanda McCune. Please note, too, that we will publish a Special Edition of The Daily Brief tomorrow, honoring both Passover and Good Friday.]

I'm hearing that God is such a God of love and pattern. Regarding the Passover for the Egyptians, they were told to bring a lamb into their home. An unblemished lamb. A perfect little lamb. Can you imagine how much the children and the family got attached to that lamb because they had to bring him in on the 10th [of Nisan], which was yesterday (Monday, March 26th). They would have brought the lamb in and let him be a part of their household.

Then on the 14th that lamb would have been shed, his blood for them. And when Jesus entered Jerusalem, He entered on the 10th. He was killed on the 14th. That's the pattern you and I have. How much He wants to come in as that loving thing and get close to us and recognize what he is truly doing for us.
So this is the week we have the opportunity to get rid of the leaven in our hearts and to just let that lamb be close to us because that's what He is showing us once again. . . We just say, "Father God, help us to truly recognize everything even in a deeper level for ourselves and our nation that you are wanting for us.
So we invite the lamb in this week. We invite that unblemished lamb in the representation of Jesus Christ to be a part of our families and to recreate that Father in us. We recognize that as we recut (re-establish) covenant with You once again to a higher dimension and a deeper understanding on Good Friday, that you are giving us the chance to come up higher and to be the warrior bride that you have designed us to be. We thank you for this opportunity, in Jesus Name we pray.

#TruthMatters: Part Two

#TruthMatters: Part Two

Step #2: Believe the Good News

"The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God has come near. Repent and believe the good news!" ~ Mark 1:15

Dear Christian Warriors:

Strongholds are anything that are opposed to God's Word. It's His Will that we believers in Jesus Christ purify by following His Word.

Step one is to acknowledge that we have a sin problem in our land that begins with you and me.

Here is the link from our Step #1 message: "Acknowledge We Have a Problem" aka REPENT! This must take place personally AND nationally.

The next step is to use His Strategy to solve that problem. He urges us to use the Truths in Scripture to erase rebellious ideas, arguments, politically correct worldly thinking, "every high thing" that is opposed to eternal reality. He is seeking purity in us, His Bride. You and I need to know the true nature of God to begin to abide in the soon-coming Bridegroom, eternally. (2 Corinthians 10: 3-6)
The key process to remove strongholds is REPENTANCE. Personal repentance brings us closer to the Lord, so that we become overcomers to sit with the Risen Christ on His throne. (Revelation 3: 19-21). National repentance through days of repentance---when many of us on a given day, constituting a sacred assembly, turn from our wicked ways--- opens heaven so that the Lord will forgive our sins and heal our land. That's using God's strategy to solve our personal and national problems.
Before we knew Christ, our own minds were full of rebellious, improper thoughts and patterns. It's past time for those earlier thoughts to be removed through sincere repentance, replacing the evil with good, deliberately taking on His Truths in Scripture. "If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth." (Colossians 3: 1-2)
We all fall short of His glory. Nonetheless, through spiritual disciples such as repentance, we "with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord." (2 Corinthians 3:18).
Join me this Holy Week to take extra minutes in prayer with the Lord to remove strongholds, replacing those false filters with God's Truths. Joy and freedom follow repentance
In Christ's love,

Classic Hymns

You, Lord, are both Lamb and Shepherd

"The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want." (Psalm 23:1)

Lyrics

You, Lord, are both Lamb and Shepherd.
You, Lord, are both prince and slave.
You, peacemaker and swordbringer
Of the way you took and gave.
You the everlasting instant;
You, whom we both scorn and crave.

Clothed in light upon the mountain,
Stripped of might upon the cross,
Shining in eternal glory,
Beggar'd by a soldier's toss,
You, the everlasting instant;
You, who are both gift and cost.

You, who walk each day beside us,
Sit in power at God's side.
You, who preach a way that's narrow,
Have a love that reaches wide.
You, the everlasting instant;
You, who are our pilgrim guide.

Worthy is our earthly Jesus! Worthy is our cosmic Christ!
Worthy your defeat and vict'ry.
Worthy still your peace and strife.
You, the everlasting instant;
You, who are our death and life.
Alleluia. Alleluia. Alleluia.
You, who are our death and our life.

Signs and Wonders

In rare supernova, cocooned star dies super-rapid death

NASA's Kepler space telescope captured a dying star's final moments, revealing a violent explosion unlike any other supernova.

A new study from the Australian National University (ANU) examines the death throes of the star, which was cocooned inside a dense shell of gas and dust. As a massive star nears the end of its life, a bright explosion expels stellar material into space, in what is known as a supernova.

In this case, when the massive amounts of energy released from the cocooned star slammed into the shell of gas and dust, nearly all the kinetic energy was immediately converted to light. The star's demise lasted only a few days, so its death was about 10 times faster than that of a typical supernova, according to a statement from ANU.

"We've discovered yet another way that stars die and distribute material back into space," Brad Tucker, a researcher from the ANU Research School of Astronomy and Astrophysics, said in the statement.

This kind of speedy supernova is a rare event known as a fast-evolving luminous transient (FELT). Due to the brief duration of these events, astronomers know little about FELTs, compared to traditional supernovas.

The Kepler space telescope is designed to hunt for exoplanets outside our solar system. The instrument detects these exoplanets by watching for stars dimming as planets pass in front of them. Astronomers have also used Kepler to find black holes, supernovas and other explosions in space.

Traditional supernova models do not easily explain the rapid evolution of FELTs. However, the Kepler space telescope can make precise measurements of sudden changes in starlight, allowing astronomers to create a new model for FELTs, according to the new study's statement.

The new findings suggest that FELTs represent "a new kind of supernova that gets a brief turbo boost in brightness from its surroundings," said the study, published March 26 in the journal Nature Astronomy. (Read more)

The Good News Corner

The Christ-Centered March on Saturday You Heard Virtually Nothing About

"The timing of the March for Eternal Life couldn't have been better. As a country, Americans marched this weekend for all kinds of causes. As a congregation, we marched to celebrate and to share with our city, our state, our nation and the entire world the message of Jesus Christ is the only hope for our world."

[CharismaNews.com] Against the background of the shimmering Dallas skyline at sunset, thousands marched through the streets of the city to demonstrate their faith in the "March for Eternal Life." This event, like last year's event, saw people of all ages and races marching together to the accompaniment of two live New Orleans style jazz bands and holding aloft palm branches in commemoration of Palm Sunday.

Central to the march was a 16-foot-tall by 11-foot-wide brightly illuminated cross, carried by the throng, and erected for the event in a place of prominence in the park. The cross holds particular significance because church members spent the weeks leading up to Palm Sunday writing the first names or initials of those they are praying for this Easter season on the sides of the cross.

About CHPP

About Capitol Hill Prayer Partners

Our Mission Statement

Capitol Hill Prayer Partners (CHPP) is a ministry which is positioned on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., helping members of the Body of Christ to "pray for those in authority over us" in our federal government. Our primary purpose is to offer intercession on site for the members of Congress and their staffs each day that the Senate and the House of Representatives are in session; and our chief prayer focus is that "God's will be done in earth, as it is in heaven." [Matthew 6:10].

Because Jesus Christ has shed His blood for all, we, too, pray for ALL, in a nonpartisan manner. Also, because the scriptures indicate that "the effectual, fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much" (James 4:17), we are confident that fervent prayer, offered in the halls of the highest chambers of government in our land, can avail much for America. Capitol Hill Prayer Partners welcomes those who feel called to join us, engaging in this strategic work of intercession for our nation: "For there is no power but of God; the powers that be are ordained of God." [Romans 13:1]
Friends may participate by receiving our daily prayer alerts. You may contact us at chpp1994@gmail.com for more information. CHPP is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt ministry. Thank you and God bless you!
