Honoring Rev. Billy Graham

Honoring Rev. Billy Graham:

Presidential Proclamation on the Death of Billy Graham

THE WHITE HOUSE
Office of the Press Secretary

DEATH OF BILLY GRAHAM

- - - - - - -

BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA

A PROCLAMATION
As a mark of respect for the memory of Reverend Billy Graham, I hereby order, by the authority vested in me by the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America, that on the day of his interment, the flag of the United States shall be flown at half staff at the White House and upon all public buildings and grounds, at all military posts and naval stations, and on all naval vessels of the Federal Government in the District of Columbia and throughout the United States and its Territories and possessions until sunset on such day. I also direct that the flag shall be flown at half-staff for the same period at all United States embassies, legations, consular offices, and other facilities abroad, including all military facilities and naval vessels and stations.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand this twenty first day of February, in the year of our Lord two thousand eighteen, and of the Independence of the United States of America the two hundred and forty-second.

Focus on Israel

1. Palestinian Religious Leader Threatens 'Disasters' of Holy War if US Moves Embassy - United with Israel

The Palestinian Authority's (PA) Grand Mufti warned that the US' embassy move from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem will lead to "disasters of wars" in the entire world, as it is perceived as an "attack" on all Muslims.

The official PA daily Al-Hayat Al-Jadida reported Monday that the Mufti, Sheikh Muhammad Hussein who also serves as the Mufti of Jerusalem, asserted that the transfer of the American embassy to Jerusalem "will not be an attack on the Palestinians alone, but rather a blatant attack on the Arabs and Muslims throughout the world, . . . and that it will not serve peace and security in the region, but rather bring upon it disasters of wars, anarchy, and instability."

He further directly encouraged Palestinians and Muslims to use violence and "seek Martyrdom," stating that they will "sacrifice all that is dear to them."

2. Islam Respects Right of Jews to 'Live in Dignity,' Muslim World League Chief Muhammad al-Issa Declares - Algemeiner

As the keener readers of Jewish media outlets and social media feeds will doubtless be aware, there is an active bidding war going on right now between the rival Gulf Arab states of Qatar and Saudi Arabia for the hearts and minds of American Jews. Over the last few months, several American Jewish figures of varying degrees of influence have flown to Doha to hear directly from the ruling al-Thani family about why they have been profoundly misunderstood regarding their embrace of the Palestinian terrorists of Hamas and the ruling regime in Iran. Meanwhile, the Saudis have seemingly upended decades of Salafi Islamist propaganda against the Jews by discreetly warming relations with Israel, explicitly identifying Iran's rulers as the single greatest threat to the Middle East, and stoking political opposition to the 2015 nuclear deal with Tehran.

In this maelstrom of political consultants, PR flaks and advocacy leaders armed with talking points, the figure of Muhammad al-Issa is something of an incongruity. A former Saudi minister of justice, and presently the secretary-general of the influential, Mecca-based Muslim World League, al-Issa has, in recent weeks, been addressing the twin issues of antisemitism and anti-Judaism among the world's 1.6 billion Muslims with an unprecedented candor.

Spending two hours with the methodical, scholarly al-Issa - as The Algemeiner did in Washington, DC, earlier this month - it is plain to see why, at this particular juncture, he is an asset to a Saudi government eager to convince the West that, finally, it stands resolute against both Sunni and Shi'a variants of Islamism, and is determined to establish Islam as a religion of peace and coexistence. Still, to reduce Al-Issa's own message to a strictly political calculation would be a grave mistake, if only because its theological content needs to be heard irrespective of the political machinations in Gulf capitals.

3. Satellite images show new permanent Iranian base in Syria - Israel Hayom

New satellite images have substantiated that Iran is building another permanent military base in Syria, Fox News reported Wednesday.

The images, taken by Israeli firm ImageSat International, clearly show what is believed to be a new Iranian base in Jabal ash Sharqi, a mountainous area eight miles northwest of Damascus.

The base is believed to be operated by the Quds Force, the Revolutionary Guard Corps' elite division responsible for overseas operations.

The images show two new white hangars, which Western intelligence sources said are likely used to store medium- and long-range missiles capable of hitting all of Israel.

4. Netanyahu to be questioned under warning - Israel National News

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu will be questioned under warning on Friday at his residence on Balfour Street in Jerusalem, Hadashot TV reported on Wednesday.

According to the report, at the same time that the prime minister will be questioned, his wife Sarah will be asked to provide open testimony in the so-called "gift affair".

It was also reported that police investigators may present identical material to both the prime minister and his wife, as well as recordings they have collected during the investigation.

5. Israel celebrates Purim - Israel National News

This evening, celebrations for the holiday of Purim commence, during which Jews celebrate their national salvation in the days of the ancient Persian empire, when G-d turned the scheme of the evil Haman to annihilate the Jewish People on its head. In Jerusalem, and in cities that were walled in the days of Joshua, Purim starts tomorrow night.

Purim is the last of the holidays mentioned in the Bible, and signifies hope for redemption for the generations. On Purim, Jews fulfill four commandments: Reading the megillah (scroll) containing the Purim story, sending food gifts to friends, sending money gifts to the poor, and holding a festive feast.

1. Trump faith adviser: We're in 'heart' of policy conversations- WND

Much has been made of the importance of Christian faith in the Trump administration, so why doesn't the White House have a faith-based office as did the Barack Obama and George W. Bush administrations, a reporter wanted to know at the White House briefing Tuesday. "I don't think an office is what determines the faith of the administration," replied White House spokeswoman Sarah Huckabee Sanders, noting the president and his staff meet regularly with faith advisers.

"I think we actually have more people front and center speaking openly about their faith and advocating and helping build on that foundation than probably any previous administration has."

One of those advisers is Johnnie Moore, who spoke with WND shortly after the White House briefing Tuesday.

Moore clarified that there is no longer a formal Evangelical Advisory Council, which was part of the election campaign in 2016. His relationship is informal - interacting sometimes daily with the administration, he said, and about every four to six seeks directly with the president - and he sees advantages to that lack of structure.

_Father, we ask that You guide our president to do only what You ask of him and if that means lack of formal structure, then that's ok. Thank You that there is a real relationship with the Evangelicals who have stood with him.

2. Trump publicly spars with Republicans over concealed carry, NRA influence at school safety session - Fox News

President Trump sparred with Republican lawmakers during a rare, televised bipartisan gathering on gun control and school safety Wednesday, dismissing GOP pleas to include concealed carry proposals in a sweeping gun package while making clear he doesn't "have to agree on everything" with the National Rifle Association.

"I'm a fan of the NRA," Trump told lawmakers at the White House. "There's no bigger fan. I'm a big fan of the NRA. These are great people, these great patriots. They love our country. But that doesn't mean we have to agree on everything."

During the meeting, which also included prominent Democrats, Trump told House Majority Whip Steve Scalise, R-La., who was gravely injured in a mass shooting this summer, that a comprehensive gun bill would not pass if it included a concealed carry reciprocity proposal desired by Republicans.

"You know, I'm your biggest fan in the whole world," Trump told Scalise. "I think that bill maybe one day will pass, but it should pass as a separate. If you're going to put concealed carry between states into this bill, we're talking about a whole new ball game."

_Father, we ask that You preserve the bill of Rights for all Americans in the midst of this continual fight over the 2nd Amendment. Let not wrong attitudes and desires on anyone's part be allowed to dictate outcomes. We speak peace to this situation, and truth into the midst of all meetings regarding this issue.

3. Robert Mueller moves to dismiss charges against Rick Gates following plea deal - Washington Examiner

Special counsel Robert Mueller has moved to dismiss recently-unveiled charges against Rick Gates, who pleaded guilty last week in federal court in Washington. Mueller's office announced last Thursday that a federal grand jury in the Eastern District of Virginia had returned a new, 32-count indictment against Gates, and his longterm business partner Paul Manafort.

Shortly after noon Friday, Gates pled guilty to conspiracy against the United States and making a false statement. Gates - the fifth person to plead guilty as part of Mueller's probe - also signaled his cooperation with the investigation. Gates first pleaded not guilty to the eight count indictment returned by a federal grand jury in Washington in late October. Manafort has also pleaded not guilty to the October charges in Washington, and was hit with new charges on Friday. Manafort will be arraigned in Washington on Friday indictment, and in Virginia on Friday.

___Father, since we are not privy to what has been happening on the underside of these charges, we pray that You will reveal any hidden lies or actions that might be designed to cause further difficulties for the president.

4. Jared Kushner's ties to the White House, link to the Russia investigation - Fox News

Jared Kushner, a senior White House aide and the president's son-in-law, had his security clearance downgraded, preventing him from accessing President Trump's daily brief, Fox News learned on Wednesday.

Kushner, Trump's son-in-law, has also found himself entangled in Special Counsel Robert Mueller's investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 election and the Trump campaign's involvement.

From his trips to the Middle East to his leadership of a little-known White House innovation group, here's a look at how Kushner is involved in the Trump administration and the Russia inquiry.

5. Ingraham Releases Internal Email Directing Deputies to Defend FL Sheriff - FoxNews

In an "Ingraham Angle" exclusive, Laura Ingraham aired a purported internal email from the Broward County Sheriff's Office that directed employees to defend Sheriff Scott Israel. Ingraham said the email was given to her by a source and that its veracity was "confirmed" by a second source. It urges all staff members to vigorously support Israel as he "find[s himself] up against a flurry of media allegations."

"He stood with us, and now we must stand with him," the email reads. "The focus should be on getting to the bottom of what happened," Ingraham said. "[It] shouldn't be about saving [Israel's] job." Ingraham said the emails continue a pattern of defensive public relations by the department at Israel's lead. She said that, apart from the sheriff's repeated statements defending himself and criticizing the National Rifle Association, the Democrat's past actions also garnered media attention. Ingraham called for President Donald Trump to order Attorney General Jeff Sessions to open his own investigation into the shooting, as well as the department's actions in relation to it.

_Lord, we understand the feelings of the Broward County Sheriff's deputies might want to "circle the wagons" to defend their leader. But as revelations continue to surface about the problems within that agency, we ask that You keep them from doing anything that is not in Your will.

"For I will declare my iniquity; I will be in anguish over my sin." (Psalm 38:18)

6. Broward County Sheriff Scott Israel Needs To Resign For Incompetence - The Federalist

In the wake of the school shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, reports of egregious errors by the Broward County Sheriff's Office before, during, and after the attack have been mounting. First as a trickle, then as a flood, the mismanagement and dereliction of duty displayed by the force led by Sheriff Scott Israel has gone from troubling to downright damning. At this point, any reasonable reading of the facts can only lead to one conclusion: Israel must resign.

During a heated CNN town hall last week, Israel admonished National Rifle Association spokesperson Dana Loesch for daring to suggest his department had failed to follow up on huge red flags regarding the suspect. At the time it was believed the department had responded to 23 calls regarding the shooter. Yesterday BuzzFeed reported that there were an additional 22 calls, bringing the total to 45. The shooter wasn't just a blip on the radar, he was a blimp on the radar. When police make mistakes, they can have devastating, even deadly consequences. But Israel didn't make a mistake. He and his department were involved in a pattern of incompetence before, during, and after the shooting that cannot be excused as mere pressures of the job.

__Lord, You alone know the heart of Sheriff Israel. We ask that Your Spirit visit him in the night seasons, and bring truth to his mind and heart. May he be changed and brought to repentance.

"In humility correcting those who are in opposition, if God perhaps will grant them repentance, so that they may know the truth." (2 Timothy 2:25)

7. Ga. Senate Passes Bill Exempting Faith-Based Adoption Agencies From Working With Gay Couples- Christian Post

Georgia's state senate has passed a bill that if enacted would exempt faith-based adoption agencies from being compelled to place orphans with same-sex couples if it goes against their religious beliefs.

The Georgia Senate voted last Friday to pass the Republican-sponsored Senate Bill 375 in a vote of 35-19 in which all Democrat Senators voted nay.

Also called the "Keep Faith in Adoption and Foster Care Act," SB 375 would amend the Official Code of Georgia Annotated to allow religious adoption agencies to refuse to provide services that contradict their beliefs.

The bill doesn't prevent gay couples from adopting. It notes that should a faith-based agency refuse to accept a referral, the state will "immediately refer those services to another child-placing agency."

__Lord, we thank You for this bill and ask that You allow it to be passed.

8. Georgia teacher in custody after allegedly opening fire in classroom, police say- Fox News

A teacher has been taken into custody after allegedly firing at least one shot inside a Georgia high school classroom Wednesday, police said.

The Dalton Police Department identified the teacher as Jesse Randall Davidson, 53, a social studies teacher who also does play-by-play announcements during the school's football games. He has been employed with the school since 2004. It was not immediately clear if any charges would be filed against Davidson.

_Father, as the rhetoric heats up around the idea that teachers should be allowed to carry concealed weapons, this seems like an out of place situation since he barricaded himself in the room and refused to let the students come in.. If this is a planned political stunt, we ask that the truth be revealed quickly.

"A false witness shall perish." (Proverbs 21:18a)

9. USDA: 35,891 Retailers Engaged in Food Stamp Fraud - CNS News

The U.S. Department of Agriculture has published a report estimating that 35,891 food retailers around the country engaged in food stamp fraud, illegally "trafficking" more than $1 billion in Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits annually over the three-year period from 2012 through 2014. "SNAP benefits are permitted for the purchase of eligible food items from authorized food retailers," said the report. "The sale or exchange of SNAP benefits for anything other than food sold by an authorized SNAP retailer is illegal."

The report, published in September 2017, looked at food stamp trafficking in 2012, 2013 and 2014, estimating that more than $1 billion in SNAP benefits were "trafficked" annually during that time period and that about 11.8 percent of the 303,522 retail stores authorized to accept SNAP benefits over the period were involved in trafficking. "As there were no publicly owned stores found to have trafficked, privately owned stories account for 100 percent of all benefit dollars trafficked although they account for only 54.6 percent of all SNAP redemptions," it said.

10. ABC News silent after more than 30,000 calls over 'View' star Joy Behar's 'anti-Christian bigotry'- Fox News

ABC has received at least 30,000 calls since the Media Research Center began a campaign to hold "View" co-hosts accountable for spewing "anti-Christian bigotry," but it doesn't look like the network plans to take action.

Co-hosts Sunny Hostin and Joy Behar mocked Vice President Pence's Christian faith earlier this month on "The View," and MRC President Brent Bozell published an open letter to ABC News calling for an apology.

ABC had received 30,588 calls as of Wednesday morning, and angry viewers have also reached out to the chat show's advertisers, including Clorox, Gerber, Oreo and Home Advisor. The advertisers have received no fewer than 6,000 calls, according to the MRC.

The MRC, which says it's "America's leading media watchdog in documenting, exposing and neutralizing liberal media bias," posted contact information for 14 of the ABC News program's advertisers as well as the president of ABC.

"I am sure the advertisers of 'The View' will be just as appalled as I am about the anti-Christian remarks made on the show," Bozell wrote.

Exposing FISA darkness to the light

On two separate occasions, Attorney General Jeff Sessions said that the Justice Department will investigate the secret dealings of Federal Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) court. He told FOX News, "Let me tell you, every FISA warrant based on facts submitted to that court have to be accurate...That will be investigated and looked at, and we are not going to participate as a Department of Justice in providing anything less than a proper disclosure to the court before they issue a FISA warrant. Other than that, I'm not going to talk about the details of it, but I tell you, we're not going to let that happen." It will be interesting to see if Sessions can unravel the web of deceit and indict the true conspirators.

Undoubtedly, this investigation will pursue the link between the ex "president", the Clintons, the Democratic National Committee, and officials of the former White House in using the court to legitimize the false dossier paid for by the DNC and the Clinton campaign to undermine not only the Donald Trump candidacy, but also his presidency between the election and when he took office. According to a report as early as March 2017 by the UK Guardian, the previous administration was using the FISA court to obtain telephone and email records of law-abiding citizens without warrants. In January, it was revealed that the previous administration used the secret court in an apparent attempt to maintain control of the White House even after Trump was elected president.
In March 2017, President Trump accused the ex-"president" of wire-tapping his campaign, setting off a barrage of sanctimonious denials from Democrats and the ex "president." The ex-"president's" spokesman Kevin Lewis said, "A cardinal rule of the [sic] Administration was that no White House official ever interfered with any independent investigation led by the Department of Justice. As part of that practice, neither the [sic] "president" nor any White House official ever ordered surveillance on any US citizen. Any suggestion otherwise is simply false." Lewis lied. The White House had routinely ordered surveillance on US citizens, and used information to concoct a story to influence the elections.

The FISA court audited this spying and in June 2017 issued a 99 page opinion written by judge Rosemary Collyer, who stated that Fourth Amendment rights of privacy were violated by the ex "president's" administration as early as October 2011 and continued through 2016. This information collected on US citizens was shared with the FBI, CIA and National Counterterrorism Center in violation of regulations. Now we are finding that these abuses continued and interfered with the 2016 Presidential election. Proverbs 26:26 says, "[He] Whose hatred is covered by deceit, his wickedness shall be shown before the whole congregation." This wickedness is beginning to be revealed, and it is very dark and evil.

Have a Blessed and Powerful Day!

Just As I Am . . .

Classic Hymns

In Honor of the Passing of Rev. Billy Graham:

JUST AS I AM, WITHOUT ONE PLEA

"Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!" (John 1:29)

Lyrics

Lyrics

Just as I am, without one plea,
But that Thy blood was shed for me,
And that Thou bidst me come to Thee,
O Lamb of God, I come, I come.

Just as I am, and waiting not
To rid my soul of one dark blot,
To Thee whose blood can cleanse each spot,
O Lamb of God, I come, I come.
Just as I am, though tossed about
With many a conflict, many a doubt,
Fightings and fears within, without,
O Lamb of God, I come, I come.

Just as I am, poor, wretched, blind;
Sight, riches, healing of the mind,
Yea, all I need in Thee to find,
O Lamb of God, I come, I come.
Just as I am, Thou wilt receive,
Wilt welcome, pardon, cleanse, relieve;
Because Thy promise I believe,
O Lamb of God, I come, I come.

Just as I am, Thy love unknown
Hath broken every barrier down;
Now, to be Thine, yea, Thine alone,
O Lamb of God, I come, I come.
Just as I am, of that free love
The breadth, length, depth, and height to prove,
Here for a season, then above,
O Lamb of God, I come, I come!
