Update: London Terror Attack

Update: London Terror Attack

1. London attackers named by police as profiles emerge - Fox News

British police on Monday identified two of the three men who killed seven people during a weekend terror attack -- including one man who came to England from Pakistan with his asylum-seeking parents.

Cops named Khuram Shazad Butt, 27, and Rachid Redouane, 30, as two of the men shot dead by police during the Saturday rampage, in which a trio of terrorists rammed a crowd with a van before attacking others with knives.

Both men lived in the east London neighborhood of Barking.

Butt (from Pakistan) became a British citizen and Redouane claimed to be Moroccan and Libyan, police said.

"Khuram Shazad Butt was known to the police and MI5. However, there was no intelligence to suggest that this attack was being planned and the investigation had been prioritized accordingly," British police said in a statement. "The other named man, Rachid Redouane, was not known." (Read more)

- Lord God, we are grateful to know the identity of these two murderers, and we await the identity of the third one now, too. It is so difficult to know how to pray; but we do ask that, next time, the British intelligence officials not allow any of these terrorists to slip through the cracks again. Only You know the fate of these two souls in eternity, so we leave this matter in Your hands, amen. May other potential jihadists now "wake up," repent, find Christ, and change their ways before they, too, face eternity. In Your Holy Name, amen.

- "Say to them, 'As surely as I live, declares the Sovereign LORD, I take no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but rather that they turn from their ways and live."
(Ezekiel 33:11)

2. Britain attacks: Lack of pattern puts officials on edge - USA Today

The randomness of the three terrorist attacks in Britain since March 22 puts officials around the world on edge, making it difficult to anticipate a next strike.

In the United States, New York Mayor Bill de Blasio said Sunday that his city was on high alert, with critical response units in "particularly prominent" locations.

The Islamic State, also known as ISIS, claimed responsibility for Saturday night's attack in London that left seven people dead and wounded dozens. ISIS also claimed responsibility for the previous two British attacks.

British Prime Minister Theresa May said while the recent attacks were not directly linked, "terrorism breeds terrorism." (Read more)

- Lord God, only You know the pattern that is lurking inside the minds of each of these deranged jihadist terrorists. We ask divine revelation for our security personnel worldwide so that they, too, may connect these dots and be effective in preventing more attacks. In Your name, amen.

3. EXCLUSIVE - Islamic State Supporters Celebrate London Terror: Allah Will Reward You for Running over Infidels - Breitbart

Writing in an encrypted chat room, Islamic State sympathizers and militants hailed Saturday's deadly attacks in London and typically called for more such carnage throughout Europe and the West.

Breitbart Jerusalem obtained access to correspondence posted in a closed chat group that utilizes the encrypted Telegram messaging service. The group serves as an internal Twitter of sorts for IS jihadists and sympathizers, and has been used in the past to issue IS communications.

No group has claimed responsibility for the terrorist massacre in London yet in which seven people were murdered and dozens more were injured near the London Bridge and Borough Market.

The attack was carried out mere hours after an IS-linked news service had posted a message on Telegram calling for supporters to "gain benefit from Ramadan" and "kill the civilians of the Crusaders. Run over them by vehicles."

The Telegram messages following the attack - as obtained by Breitbart Jerusalem - were full of similar incitement.

IS member Abi Abdullah Almasri (the Egyptian), wrote, "Thanks to Allah, thank you, thanks to Allah, Allah is great, thanks to Allah from faith that he will make his promise reality and give victory (to the faithful). Allah will bless the lions. Allah will bless the lone wolves. Allah will reward you as long as you run over and stab these infidels in the depths of their countries. Put fear into their eyes, increase your hits, increase your attacks, don't let them feel secure in their countries." (Read more)

- Lord this hideous ideology must be crushed. You alone can scatter Your enemies, and remove the wicked from the earth.

4. After London attack, May vows to fight 'evil ideology of Islamist extremism' - Times of Israel

Calling for tougher counterterrorism measures, British PM says 'enough is enough' and UK 'must not pretend that things can remain the same'

British Prime Minister Theresa May on Sunday condemned the "evil ideology of Islamist extremism" that she said drove the three terror attacks in Britain since March and called for tougher measures to combat terrorism.

"They are bound together by the single evil ideology of Islamist extremism that preaches hatred, sows division, and promotes sectarianism," the British premier said in an address, a day after the central London car-ramming and stabbings by three terrorists that left seven people dead and 48 injured.

"It is an ideology that claims our Western values and freedom, democracy and human rights are incompatible with the religion of Islam," she said, adding that while the attacks are not directly connected, the "perpetrators are inspired to attack by copying one another."

Declaring that "enough is enough," the prime minister called for increased domestic counterterrorism measures. "We cannot and must not pretend that things can remain the same." (Read more)

- Father God, we agree that "Enough is enough." We join our own prayer support to those who are now working to stop these terrorists in their tracks, in Your name, amen.

- "The effectual, fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much." (James 5:16)

5. Can Theresa May use tech to stop terror attacks?- CNN Money

"Some people say that it is not for government to regulate when it comes to technology and the internet. We disagree."

That defiant statement was included in the platform of Prime Minister Theresa May's Conservative Party ahead of Thursday's general election. In the wake of a terror attack on Saturday that killed at least seven people in London, the pledge has taken on added significance.

May has long been a stalwart for tighter control and surveillance of internet communications, citing public safety concerns.

On Sunday, as Britain assessed the damage caused by three terror attacks in just three months, May reiterated her pledge to combat terrorism by denying extremists digital tools used to communicate and plan attacks.

"We need to work with allied democratic governments to reach international agreements that regulate cyberspace to prevent the spread of extremist and terrorism planning," she said in a speech. "We need to do everything we can at home to reduce the risks of extremism online." (Read more)

- Father, this response by the UK is wrong-headed, and leaves the real problem unattended. We pray that You will show them to seal their borders from the wicked. And bring Light into the darkness in the UK.

- "Should you help the wicked and love those who hate the Lord? " (2 Chronicles 19:2)

6. 'Bloodshed will end,' Trump vows after London attack - TImes of Israel

President Donald Trump said Sunday he will do whatever is necessary to protect the United States from a "vile enemy" that he says has waged war on innocents for too long, vowing: "This bloodshed must end, this bloodshed will end."

Trump commented on the vehicle and knife attack that killed at least seven people in London. He spoke at the conclusion of a fundraiser for Ford's Theater, scene of one of the most famous acts of bloodshed in American history: the assassination of Abraham Lincoln.

"America sends our thoughts and prayers and our deepest sympathies to the victims of this evil slaughter and we renew our resolve, stronger than ever before, to protect the United States and its allies from a vile enemy that has waged war on innocent life, and it's gone on too long," Trump said.

"This bloodshed must end, this bloodshed will end," said the tuxedo-clad Trump, standing on stage with his wife, first lady Melania Trump.

"As president, I will do what is necessary to prevent this threat from spreading to our shores and work every single day to protect the safety and security of our country, our communities and our people," he said. (Read more)

- Father God, we stand behind our President and ask that he be granted every means possible to track these terrorists down in our own nation, to bring them to justice, or to prevent them from entering our country. We ask in Your name, amen.

- "Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence." (I Timothy 2:1,2)

7. New York Deploys Counterterror Critical Response Command Following London Terror Spree - Breitbart

The NYPD Counterterrorism Bureau has deployed its Critical Response Command unit and increased security throughout New York City following the multiple terrorist attacks late Saturday night in London.

The NYPD issued multiple statements on Twitter confirming the need for heightened security in America's largest city following the attack in the British capital, while noting that police are not aware of any "specific and credible threats" to New York.

"We're monitoring the situation in London and we're in touch with British authorities," New York Police Department spokesman J. Peter Donald told reporters, according to Fox News. NBC New York adds that Governor Andrew Cuomo has confirmed that the state deployed officials to closely monitor potential terror targets within the city, with added security provided to "airports, bridges, tunnels and mass transit systems." (Read more)

- Father, we thank You that New York has taken these steps in the wake of the London attacks. We ask Your power and protection over the United States, preserving us from evil.

- "A thousand may fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand; but it shall not come near you." (Psalm 91:7)

8. Netanyahu on London Terror Atrocity: 'Fight This Scourge That Knows No Bounds' - Algemeiner

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu led a forceful Israeli response to the terrorist attack in London on Saturday night, in which seven people were killed and nearly 50 wounded by three Islamists who were then shot dead by armed police.

In a series of tweets following the attacks on pedestrians on London Bridge and nearby Borough Market, Netanyahu pledged to "fight . . . this scourge that knows no bounds." The Israeli Prime Minister is currently attending the summit of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) in the Liberian capital Monrovia.

"London Bridge will not fall. Together we will vanquish terror," Netanyahu declared.(Read more)

- Thank You, Lord, that Israel stands as a shining light among the nations. This nation has had more experience, tragically, with terrorism than any other. We thank You that they do stand ready to help all others fight this evil, when asked. Amen.

- "You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hid."
(Matthew 5:14)

9. Putin says joint efforts to fight terrorism should be stepped up after London attacks - Ynet News

MOSCOW -- Russian president Vladimir Putin expressed his condolences over attacks in London in a telegram to British prime minister Theresa May on Sunday, the Kremlin said in a statement.

The President of Russia expressed his confidence that the build-up of joint efforts to fight forces of terror all over the world should become the common answer on what happened," the Kremlin said. (Read more)

- Thank You, Lord, that the nations do seem to be coming into unity regarding ending these attacks. We ask that Your grace would lead them as they form a coalition, so that no more innocent citizens are slain on the altar of Islam.

- "And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose." (Romans 8:28)

3. Gulf Nations Cut Ties with Qatar in Move that Could Benefit Israel - United with Israel

Bahrain, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) cut diplomatic ties to Qatar early Monday morning, further deepening a rift among Gulf Arab nations over that country's support for Islamist terror groups and its relations with Iran.

The four countries announced the withdrawal of their diplomatic staff from Qatar, a gas-rich nation that will host the 2022 FIFA World Cup and which is home to a major US military base. Qatari troops will be pulled from the ongoing war in Yemen, Saudi Arabia said.

They will also eject Qatari diplomats from their territories and plan to cut air and sea traffic. Saudi Arabia said it will shut its land border with Qatar, effectively cutting the country off from the rest of the Arabian Peninsula. (Read more)

4. Interior minister interrogated again, legal problems deepen - World Israel News

Interior Minister and ultra-orthodox Shas party leader Aryeh Deri and his wife Yaffe were interrogated for a second time Monday by the Lahav 433 division of the Israel Police. This comes after Deri was grilled for 11 hours the previous week as part of a year long investigation into corruption allegations.

Deri is under investigation for money laundering, fraud, breach of trust, theft, fraudulent registration and tax offenses. Suspicions were aroused when reports surfaced of Deri owning multiple homes which were left unreported to tax authorities, including a villa in Moshav Safsufa that is allegedly worth millions. Police have been grilling the Deri's over the source of the financing for all of the property. (Read more)

5. Hamas leader heads to Egypt for rare talks with officials - Israel Hayom

Hamas' newly chosen leader in the Gaza Strip, Yahya Sinwar, traveled to Cairo on Sunday for talks with Egyptian security officials, in the first high-level meeting between the sides in months, a Hamas official said.

The delegation left through the Rafah border crossing, which was opened Sunday for the group to cross. The border is mostly closed as part of the Israeli and Egyptian blockade imposed to prevent arms smuggling to the terrorist groups in Gaza.

Hamas official Salah Bardawil said the delegation would discuss the humanitarian situation in Gaza under the blockade, Egypt's role in improving conditions, and the need to open Rafah crossing for Palestinian travelers. (Read more)

6. Palestinian PM reportedly says Israel's policies helped prevent 3rd intifada - Times of Israel

During a closed conversation with Finance Minister Moshe Kahlon, Palestinian Authority Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah said that Israeli policies during the most recent wave of violence helped prevent a third intifada, or uprising, Channel 2 reported Monday.

Hamdallah and Kahlon met last Wednesday to discuss steps that the Israeli cabinet approved last month to improve economic ties with the PA and relieve restrictions on Palestinian movement prior to US President Donald Trump's visit to the region. (Read more)

7. Lake Kinneret experiences worst May since 1920 - Jerusalem Post

Breaking all-time record lows for the month of May, the water levels of Lake Kinneret are continuing to dangerously decline, the Water Authority announced on Sunday.

At the end of May, the basin held less than 9 million cubic meters of usable water - the worst situation since 1920.

As drought continues to strike the northern region for the fourth year in a row, for the second consecutive year the Water Authority has ceased pumping water from the Kinneret almost entirely. (Read more)

1. White House: Trump will not exert executive privilege over Comey - CNN affiliate

President Donald Trump will not try to block fired FBI Director James Comey from testifying before Congress, deciding not to invoke executive privilege, spokeswoman Sarah Huckabee Sanders said Monday at the White House briefing.

"The President's power to assert executive privilege is well-established. However, in order to facilitate a swift and thorough examination of the facts sought by the Senate intelligence committee, President Trump will not assert executive privilege regarding James Comey's scheduled testimony," said a statement issued by the White House. (Read more)

- Lord, thank You for granting President Trump wisdom in this time when everything he tries to do is attacked. We thank You and trust that Mr. Comey will speak the truth - let nothing he says be in revenge or political lies.

- "Behold You desire truth in the inward parts." (Psalm 51:6)

2. Trump Announces Plan To Privatize Air Traffic Control - NPR

President Trump announced Monday a plan to privatize the nation's air traffic control system - a move that would remove the job of tracking and guiding airplanes from the purview of the Federal Aviation Administration. "Today we're proposing to take American air travel into the future, finally," Trump said.

The nation's air traffic control system was designed when far fewer people flew, Trump said, calling it "stuck, painfully, in the past." He also called the system "ancient, broken, antiquated" and "horrible" and said his reforms would make it safer and more reliable. The FAA has worked to upgrade its system, but Trump and other critics say it was taking far too long. "Honestly, they didn't know what the hell they were doing," Trump said. "A total waste of money."

Privatization of air traffic control is an idea long supported by most of the commercial airlines. Executives from those companies joined the president at the White House to announce the plan.

Guided by legislation that has been proposed in the past by House Transportation Committee chairman Bill Shuster, a private, nonprofit corporation would be created to operate, manage and control air traffic control nationwide, similar to what Canada does. The FAA would still have some oversight capacity, but a board made up mostly of representatives of the major airlines would govern this corporation. (Read more)

- Father, we pray that if this plan is from You, let it be created swiftly. We ask that the pathway be smoothed out for its implementation.

- "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding." (Proverbs 3:5a)

3. Gunman 'singled out' victims in Orlando shooting spree - CNN

The gunman in Monday's fatal shooting spree at an Orlando, Florida, business targeted his victims and had a "negative relationship" with at least one of them, Orlando County Sheriff Jerry Demings said. "He was certainly singling out the individuals he shot," Demings told reporters Monday afternoon.

Police say he killed five employees of Fiamma Inc. before killing himself.

The gunman was identified as John Robert Neumann, Jr. He was fired in April by Fiamma Inc., which makes accessories for recreational vehicles. Monday morning, he pointed his gun at a new, temporary employee and told her to leave, Demings said. (Read more)

- Lord, we pray Your comfort for the victims and those affected by this senseless tragedy. Be their counselor, comforter, and grant them hope in the midst of despair.

- "Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me." (Psalm 23:4)

4. Evangelicals who propelled Trump to White House now faced with rising army of 'hidden atheists' - Raw Story

There have been various reports showing a marked increase in nonbelievers, including atheists, agnostics and others who do not identify with a religion or say that religion is not important to them. Between 2007 and 2014, the portion of Americans who do not believe in a god grew by over 10 percent, according to a study done by the Pew Research Center.

The growing numbers of nonreligious people in the United States are propelled by generational change, as young people, who are more likely to be unaffiliated with a religion, reach adulthood and slowly replace their older and more religious counterparts.

A recent study by psychologists Will Gervais and Maxine Najle at the University of Kentucky concluded that the number of atheists in the United States "exceeds 20 percent with a roughly 0.8 probability." (Read more)

- Father, this is a tremendously sad article, as it reveals how far away from You we have fallen. We must return to You. We ask that You touch the hearts of every American, everyone who has fallen away or simply never knew You.

- "I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a new heart of flesh." (Ezekiel 36:26)

5. Islamic Society of Greater Concord New Hampshire plans first permanent mosque in city - Concord Monitor

The Islamic Society of Greater Concord is working to establish a permanent mosque in a vacant industrial building on North Main Street, which if successful would be a first for the city. President Hubert Mask said the society has outgrown the rented space it uses at the East Concord Community Center. It's planning to buy the brick building set back from the road at 181 N. Main St. and marked "Capital Offset Co.," as well as an abutting house at 9 Pearl St.

The society will go to the zoning board this week to request the variances it needs for its plan. It's proposing to merge the two parcels and demolish the house to add parking.

Mask said Muslims come from as far away as Littleton and Lebanon for the society's busiest Friday prayers. The planned move would alleviate the headaches of operating out of a rented space and provide more room for a classroom, offices and separate prayer areas for men and women. Currently, Mask said, the imam has nowhere to meet privately with congregants, and the board of directors has no fixed place to store the society's documents. (Read more)

- Father, it feels like a quiet take-over of America as more and more mosques are appearing in cities across the nation. We pray for a move of Your Spirit against it, and for truth to be revealed.

- "So they shall fear the name of the Lord from the west, and His glory from the rising o the sun; when the enemy comes in like a flood, The Spirit of the Lord will lift up a standard against him." (Isaiah 59:19)

6. High School Art Display: "Burn in Hell, Trump"- Todd Starnes/Fox

A New York school district has launched an investigation into a student art show that included profane references to President Trump. The art show at Shen High School featured a dozen drawings of the president's face. Above the drawings was a sign that read, "Draw on Me." On a nearby table was a box filled with markers.

Let's just say, the youngsters did not hold back. "Burn in Hell, Trump," wrote one person. Another person scrawled the word, (xxx) *wipe."

"I think it's horribly disrespectful," parent Erica McGowan told me. She said the art display inside a classroom reflected what she called the school district's glaring hypocrisy.

"They preach tolerance and no bullying and safe spaces and all that nonsense - as long as you are not a conservative," she said. "If somebody had put up pictures of Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama - they would mow you down." (Read more)

- Father, these displays of disrespect are not pleasing to You, and we pray that You send Your Holy Spirit to bring conviction to the student and administration of this school.

- "Honor all people. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the king." (1 Peter 2:17)

7. 8 Filipino Christians Killed for Refusing to Recite Islamic Creed - Christian post

Eight Christians who were killed when an Islamic State-linked group stormed a Filipino city late last month were shot to death because of their refusal to recite the Islamic declaration of faith, government officials have reportedly said.

According to the Christian persecution monitoring website Morning Star News, eight Christians who were among the 19 killed when the IS-aligned Maute Group stormed the city of Marawi on May 23 were the first Christians killed during the insurgent uprising in the capital of Lanao del Sur Province on the Mindanao island. The city, which was once home to over 200,000 residents, has seen thousands of residents flee in recent weeks. (Read more)

- Lord we pray for strength and courage for our brethren in the Philippines. Let faith rise up within them and fear be removed.

8. Gulf plunged into diplomatic crisis as countries cut ties with Qatar - The Guardian

The Gulf has been hit by its biggest diplomatic crisis in years after Arab nations including Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt and Bahrain cut ties with Qatar, accusing it of destabilising the region with its support for Islamist groups.

The countries said they would halt all land, air and sea traffic with Qatar, eject its diplomats and order Qatari citizens to leave the Gulf states within 14 days.

Shoppers in the Qatari capital, Doha, meanwhile packed supermarkets amid fears the country, which relies on imports from its neighbours, would face food shortages after Saudi Arabia closed its sole land border.

Social media reports from Doha showed supermarket shelves empty as nervous consumers began to worry that stocks of food and water would run out. As much as 40% of Qatar's food comes over the Saudi border. (Read more)

- Lord, we pray that this move will precipitate a fresh wind of Your Holy Spirit in the Middle East. Though Qatar supports terrorism, so does Saudi Arabia. Let Your Holy Spirit change the course of the region and bring them into Your Hand.

- "Ask of Me, and I will give You the nations for Your inheritance, and the ends of the earth for Your possession." (Psalm 2:8)

Insane hatred and common sense

There is an ilk of people in the US who want to see the nation turned into a communist state and they are doing everything they can to foment a revolution. They are pawns of the globalist Marxist system, yet many haven't a clue of how they are being used. They angrily oppose all things good, defy common sense, and accuse anyone who doesn't agree with their warped viewpoints of the very evil that motivates their hearts. Case in point: In the wake of the most recent Islamic terror attack in London, President Donald Trump said America needs to ban the entry of people into the US who are from countries that sponsor terrorism in order to "help keep our country safe." Common sense, right? Not so fast.

The communist left came out of the woodwork calling Trump racist, an embarrassment to the office of the President, and a piece of [explicative for excrement]. Meantime, Kathy Griffin, the radical leftist representative of the Democratic Party's entertainment wing, held a news conference about her stunt of beheading the President. She played the victim by claiming that Trump "broke her" and that she is now being bullied by the Trump family for her actions. She also said she thought that Barron Trump, the President's minor child, is fair game for criticism and ridicule. Yet, radical leftist Bill Maher on HBO makes a racial slur to a US Senator and gets a free pass after blaming his comment on a lack of sleep.

So we have a President who says we need to put the security of our nation's citizens first by putting a travel ban in place for people coming from terrorist-sponsoring nations and the radical left calls him racist and worse. We also have a comedian who carries the banner for the entertainment industry's support of the Democratic Party symbolically beheading the President and then claiming she was driven to it by the President's actions. And the news media thinks these things are viable points in the national conversation-in fact, reporters at CNN, MSNBC, CBS and so on-fanned the flames of this unreasonable hysteria by making derogatory comments about the President. So much for unbiased journalism.

The fevered pitch of this crazed mania has become so uncontrolled it even prompted Russian President Vladimir Putin to question the nonsense in a Sunday interview with NBC's Megyn Kelly, another vocal anti-Trump "journalist." Putin was very pointed: "You created a sensation out of nothing. And out of this sensation, you turned it into a weapon of war against the current president...have you all lost your senses over there?" 1 John 2:11 says, "He that hates his brother is in darkness and knows not where he goes because that darkness has blinded his eyes." These people are so driven by hate that they have lost all common sense and decency. It is a pitiful state of existence. As Jesus said, we should pray for our enemies. These people are truly lost and certainly need prayer, repentance, and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Have a Blessed and Powerful Day!

SCOTUS Ruling Disappoints

Supreme Court's Refusal to Hear Military Religious Freedom Case is Troubling, Says FRC

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Today the U.S. Supreme Court declined to hear the case of United States v. Sterling. The Court was asked to decide whether the Religious Freedom Restoration Act (RFRA) protects a Marine lance corporal's decision to post scripture verses at her workstation. The lance corporal desired to post the verses to give her inspiration and strength, but military superiors ordered her to remove the verses she posted. The Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces refused to protect her religious expression, interpreting RFRA in a constrained manner to protect only certain types of religious exercise and requiring that service members seek a religious accommodation, even though this is not a requirement of the statute. Family Research Council and numerous other religious freedom advocates urged the Supreme Court to take this case and overturn this harmful decision.

Lt. Gen. (Ret.) Jerry Boykin, Family Research Council's Executive Vice President and former Delta Force commander, and Travis Weber, Esq., Director of FRC's Center for Religious Liberty, a former naval aviator and graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy, had attended oral argument for the case before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces, and continued to monitor its status before the Supreme Court.
. . . As Lt. General Boykin and other retired general officers noted in an amicus brief they filed in the case, "the [lower court] decision undermines one of the greatest strengths of America's military: the religiosity of its members. It effectively tells service members to keep their religious beliefs hidden or face discipline." It is difficult to argue with their observation that "[m]ilitary men and women who swear to uphold the Constitution should also be afforded its protections."

Ramadan Rampage

Ramadan Rampage

By Gary Bauer

Yes, it is that time of year again: Ramadan, when the Muslim faithful believe Allah handed down the first verses of the Koran to Muhammad. It is increasingly also a time when infidels are beheaded, stabled, blown up, run down and shot. This year is no different.

From the Philippines to Kabul, from Egypt to London, the Islamic militants are trying to please Allah the way they like best -- killing unarmed women, children and babies. Nearly 150 people have been killed since Ramadan started on May 26th. There are 20 more days to go.

The latest Islamic terror attack took place this weekend in London, England. Seven people were murdered and scores more were wounded. The U.S. is overdue for another attack. Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly said that it was "right around the corner."

Did Theresa May Wake Up?

British Prime Minister Theresa May spoke to her country Saturday night and called the attack "Islamist extremism." Progress moves slowly. She announced a four point plan. She warned British citizens that "We will have to have uncomfortable conservations."

Churchillian she isn't. If polls are correct, she has now only a one-point lead over the Labor candidate whose campaign manager is a communist.

Waiting in the wings is the Muslim mayor of London, who urged residents of the teeming city not to be "alarmed." They should not be afraid, but any civilized man or woman not alarmed is in denial.

Here's a thought: Victims of the attack were taken to multiple London hospitals. In the maternity wards of those same hospitals, women in the new Britain are choosing the name Mohammed more than any other name for their newborn sons.

Did You Notice?

While European leaders and liberal elites on both sides of the Atlantic condemned the attack, their anger was not nearly as intense as it was at Trump for withdrawing from the Paris climate pact.

President Trump and Vice President Pence both sent condolences and pledges of support. The president praised police and first responders. "We are with you," was his message.

Trump also tweeted, "We need to be smart, vigilant, and tough. We need the courts to give us back our rights. We need the Travel Ban as an extra level of safety." CNN commentator Resa Aslan, a self-described "modern secular Muslim," called the president a "piece of xxxx."

A Few Conclusions

- Radical/extremist mosques should be closed, whether they are in Paris, London or Dearborn, Michigan. The French are doing it. So should we.

- We need more security, more vigilance, more common sense, more vetting, more reasonable limitations on immigration from Islamic countries. But none of this will work unless our children are taught the value of Western Civilization and unless we rediscover moral courage which creates the necessary political will.

Classic Hymns:
GUIDE ME, O THOU GREAT JEHOVAH

"By day the Lord went ahead of them in a pillar of cloud . . . and by night in a pillar of fire." (Exodus 13:21)

Lyrics

Guide me, O Thou great Jehovah, Pilgrim through this barren land. I am weak, but Thou art mighty; Hold me with Thy powerful hand. Bread of Heaven, Bread of Heaven, Feed me till I want no more; Feed me till I want no more.

Open now the crystal fountain, Whence the healing stream doth flow; Let the fire and cloudy pillar Lead me all my journey through. Strong Deliverer, strong Deliverer, Be Thou still my Strength and Shield; Be Thou still my Strength and Shield.

Lord, I trust Thy mighty power, Wondrous are Thy works of old; Thou deliver'st Thine from thralldom, Who for naught themselves had sold: Thou didst conquer, Thou didst conquer, Sin, and Satan and the grave, Sin, and Satan and the grave.

When I tread the verge of Jordan, Bid my anxious fears subside; Death of deaths, and hell's destruction, Land me safe on Canaan's side. Songs of praises, songs of praises, I will ever give to Thee; I will ever give to Thee.

Musing on my habitation, Musing on my heav'nly home, Fills my soul with holy longings: Come, my Jesus, quickly come; Vanity is all I see; Lord, I long to be with Thee! Lord, I long to be with Thee!

Starting hurricane season without leaders of NOAA and FEMA should 'scare the h*** out of everybody'

Hurricane season began on June 1, and according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, the season will be a busy one, with an above-average range of 5-9 hurricanes likely in the Atlantic.

The United States could be especially vulnerable to hurricane landfalls this year, observers say, but not because of the enhanced activity that is expected.

NOAA is forecasting an above-average hurricane season in 2017.

The two agencies that protect the country's coast lines and its residents, NOAA and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) are still without leaders -- positions that must be appointed by President Donald Trump and confirmed by the Senate.

"That should scare the hell out of everybody," retired US Lt. Gen. Russel Honoré told CNN. "These positions help save lives."

Honoré knows all too well the value that leadership plays during a crisis, as he commanded Joint Task Force Katrina. He coordinated military relief efforts in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.

Despite concerns, FEMA and NOAA say they are prepared for the hurricane season and the aftermath of any storms that make landfall and cause damage. (CNN) Read more.

Muslim Man Rescues Sixty-Four Christians From Being Beheaded By Jihadist Terrorists

More than 2,000 civilians remain trapped in the southern Philippines city, besieged by some 250 Islamist militants, according to Reuters. There have been reports of an imminent military assault in the region, where Christians have been killed and taken hostage by the militants. The jihadist fighters represent a mix of local Islamist militants and those from Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Chechnya and Morocco, who joined the cause under the Islamic State banner, officials say.
