The Daily Brief

1. Putin Is Looking To Get Better Ties With North Korea - Huffington Post

Angry with the West's response over Ukraine and eager to diversify its options, Russia is moving rapidly to bolster ties with North Korea in a diplomatic nose-thumbing that could complicate the U.S.-led effort to squeeze Pyongyang into giving up its nuclear weapons program.

- Father, we pray that You will do whatever is necessary to make any alliance Between Russia and North Korea unstable.

- "Those who are of a perverse heart are an abomination to the Lord - though they join forces, the wicked will not go unpunished" (Proverbs 11:20,21)

2. Syrian President Bashar al-Assad wins third term - BBC

Syrian President Bashar al-Assad has won a third term in office after securing 88.7% of votes in Tuesday's presidential election, the parliamentary speaker has announced. Earlier, Syria's Supreme Constitutional Court put the turnout at 73.47%. Voting took place in government-controlled areas, but not in parts of the north and east held by rebels.

- Lord, we pray for Your Spirit to move across Syria, from the ordinary people to the jihadists. We thank You for Salvation and life.

-" For with the Lord there is mercy, and with Him is abundant redemption." (Psalm 130: 7b)

3. Senators Troubled Following Closed Door Meeting with Obama Administration- Worthy News

A closed-door briefing with White House officials late Wednesday did little to assure senators that President Obama's decision to swap Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl for five Taliban leaders was the right move.

- Lord, we have seen a blatant disregard for Congress and the Constitution played out over and over again. We ask for Your solution to this problem.

-"When the wicked comes, contempt comes also; and with dishonor comes reproach." (Proverbs 18:3)

4. 60% of Americans Believe the 'American Dream' is Out of Reach- CNN

The American Dream is impossible to achieve in this country. So say nearly 6 in 10 people who responded to CNN Money's American Dream Poll, conducted by ORC International. They feel the dream -- however they define it -- is out of reach.

- Lord, we see this truth in the eyes of Americans across the nation. Jobs lost, land taken by the Federal Government, freedoms destroyed. . .You are the only answer to all of it. We pray for a sweep of Your Spirit in our own nation.

-"But the Lord is faithful, Who will establish you and guard you from the evil one." (2 Thessalonians 3:3)

5. WH apologizes to Senate intel chief for prisoner swap secret- The Hill

The White House has apologized to Senate Intelligence Committee Chairwoman Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) for failing to alert her in advance of a decision to release Taliban commanders from Guantanamo Bay.

- Lord, no amount of "apologies" can make up for this breach of Law. We pray that no plans of the enemy will be successful against us from this situation.

-"For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work" (2 Thessalonians 2:7a)

6. Florida facing threat from two mosquito-borne diseases -Reuters

Two mosquito-borne diseases - dengue fever and chikungunya - are posing a serious threat to Florida and residents should take steps to control mosquito populations to try to limit the danger... The Florida Department of Health. . .said that through last week dengue fever had been confirmed in 24 people in Florida and chikungunya confirmed in 18 people. Both are viral diseases spread by mosquito bites.

- Father, we take authority over these diseases, binding them in the Mighty Name of Jesus against further infections.

-"whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven" (Matthew 16:19b)

7. Report: US has held Secret Talks with Hamas for Over Six Months - Newsmax

U.S. officials have reportedly been engaged in discreet talks with Hamas for more than six months over the designated terrorist group's participation in the Palestinian Authority's new unity government.

- Lord, the wicked are lawless and disregard not only American laws, but Yours as well. We pray against the wickedness in our current government and ask for Your Power to overcome it.

- "For yet a little while and the wicked shall be no more; indeed you will look diligently for his place, but it shall be no more." (Psalm 37:10)

The Daily Jot

Justice stands afar off and truth is fallen

This president is notorious for breaking the law. He released 36,007 criminal aliens convicted of murder, rape, kidnapping and assault, sold guns to Mexican drug dealers, refused to enforce marriage laws, allowed thugs to prevent white people from voting in Philadelphia, negotiates with terrorists, and funds the enemies of America and puts the weight of the White House behind overthrowing governments on behalf of the Muslim Brotherhood. Is there no end to impeachable offenses and high crimes and misdemeanors perpetrated by this man? Yet the best the opposition party can muster is found in South Carolina Republican Senator Lindsey Graham's remarks: if he does it again, we'll call for impeachment.

Graham was talking about releasing terrorist combatants from Guantanamo Bay without congressional approval. The Hill reports Graham as saying, "It's going to be impossible for them to flow prisoners out of Gitmo now without a huge backlash. There will be people on our side calling for his impeachment if he did that." In typical communist propaganda rhetoric, Michigan Democrat and chairman of the Senate Armed Service Committee Carl Levin said, "The White House did not comply with the requirement of the 30-day provision. However, the White House said it had power under Article II of the Constitution to do what it did." He said congress was notified that the president was not going to follow the law.
Not all congressmen are as a wimpy or ridiculous in their statements. Democrat Dutch Ruppersberger, ranking minority member of the House Intelligence Committee, told the Baltimore Sun, "Since World War Two we have not negotiated with terrorists or other groups. What concerns me is the future. This puts all Americans at risk throughout the world, including our men and women on the front line...for kidnapping." Finally, someone tells the truth about the consequences of the president's reckless action against the American people, but still no one is stepping forward with measures to bring this rogue marxist Islamist to justice on behalf of the American people.

I am told by private sources that there are two reasons politicians of both parties will allow this president to remain in office: 1) they are afraid of impeaching the first president of color, and 2) Republicans do not have control of the Senate to make impeachment stick. Right is right and wrong is wrong, no matter what race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, or nationality the perpetrator is. Isn't that what our nondiscrimination laws say? Have we become an Isaiah 59:14 people: "And judgment is turned away backward, and justice stands afar off: for truth is fallen in the street, and equity cannot enter"? If so, these leaders are a reflection of who we are. We need to get serious about the Great Commission.

Have a Blessed and Powerful Day!

Europe Remembers D-Day

Europe Remembers D-Day

Editor's Note:

In Europe, D-Day is honored on June 5th, as at the last hour of that day, British troops made the first landing, in secret, on the land in Normandy.

American will honor our D-Day tomorrow . . .

To see an amazing set of 53 photos from today's commemoration at sites throughout Europe, we encourage you to go here. On this slide presentation, you will see Queen Elizabeth, as well as many other members of the Royal family, greeting D-Day veterans from England and France -- all now in their very senior years!

Please also find below an excerpt of one news reeport, from the Daily Telegraph UK, journaling today's events. Thank you.

D-day 70th anniversary:

'I remember every detail of the landing even now'

Second world war veterans are joined by serving military personnel and schoolchildren to mark Allied operation that helped win the war - but at a terrible cost

They stood to attention as straight as their creaking backs would allow and saluted briskly as a lone bugler high up on the old Pegasus Bridge played the Last Post. A minute's silence followed; the men bowed their heads, dabbed their eyes and remembered the fallen.

Some made one last heroic effort to rise from their wheelchairs, others leaned on sticks or the arms of relatives and friends. Medals glinted in the morning sunshine; rows and rows of them, pinned to still-proud chests.

It may be 70 years on, but the camaraderie remains strong. The old soldiers addressed each other as "brother" and with a valiant slap on the back, as if seven decades had not passed. There were shared nods of recognition between veterans in black and wine-coloured berets, and serving military officers who share the common bond of conflict. Schoolchildren who were hearing about history first hand were hanging on every word.
"One of the reasons it's wonderful to be here is because everyone is interested in you," said Neville Foote, 94. "Back home, nobody is interested in us. We're just old people. I am sometimes asked to go to schools to talk, but the children don't know about the war and don't want to know."

CLOSING! 3 Planned Parenthood locations in Oregon and Washington
-"As the Nation Becomes More Pro-life"

"Considering those areas are already serviced by crisis pregnancy centers, we are confident that life will be chosen by Oregon women even more than ever!"

(Clackamas, OR)-A Planned Parenthood affiliate has announced that, in order to remain financially viable, it is closing three offices in the Pacific Northwest and laying off employees at its remaining locations.

Stacy Cross, CEO of Planned Parenthood Columbia Willamette, which covers Oregon and part of Washington State, said in a press release that the action is "necessary in order to maintain a fiscally solvent operation that continues to keep our doors open to patients in our region for the long-term."

The organization has closed its centers in Clackamas and Gresham, Oregon, as well as its office in Salmon Creek, Washington.

Dan Kennedy of Human Life of Washington told LifeSiteNews, "Human Life is delighted that the killing business is losing 'customers.'"

"As the nation becomes more pro-life, we anticipate seeing more of this," he said. "This is good news for women, men, and children in the womb."

Oregon Right to Life said on its Facebook page that the closures would save babies' lives. "Considering those areas are already serviced by crisis pregnancy centers, we are confident that life will be chosen by Oregon women even more than ever!"

Signs in the Sky

A giant solar eruption. The scale of which "has never been seen before"---reported by NASA

To view this phenomenon, go here.

"And there will be signs in the sun, in the moon, and in the stars; and on the earth distress of nations, with perplexity, the sea and the waves roaring; men's hearts failing them from fear and the expectation of those things which are coming on the earth, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken. Then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near."
