Our Christmas Message
December 25, 2013
Dear Friends in Christ,
Although Christmas is traditionally the one time of the year when men experience "peace on earth and good will to men," nevertheless, this Christmas seems to have a tone of sadness about it.
Perhaps this sadness is due to our failing economy . . .
Perhaps it is due to our moral decline . . .
Perhaps it is due to seeing our troops returning from duty overseas, battle weary and many wounded . . .
And perhaps it is due to all the above, and more.
For whatever reason, this year we are finding it more difficult than most to find joy in this season.
So, where do we now turn???
We submit to all of you that we return once again to that sweet babe, born in that manger, over 2,000 years ago.
Yes, we know that HE IS RISEN and we know that He now sits at the right hand of the Father in Heaven, but somehow, to gaze upon the face of the Christ child brings us comfort, and brings us peace.
Let's join our hearts this year in working to bring His comfort, His hope and yes, His joy, to as many around us as we can . . . and let us return to the simplicity of the message of the Cross:
"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him."
(John 3:16-17)
The following poem, "One Solitary Life," reminds us again this year of the true source of all power on earth . . . one who lay in a manger in the City of Bethlehem, bringing God's answer to our fallen estate.
Thank You, Lord, for your inestimable gift to us all!!
JOY TO THE WORLD, and MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL.
In His Grace,

One Solitary Life

Our Annual Christmas Message:
One Solitary Life
He was born in an obscure village, the child of a peasant. He grew up in another village, where he worked in a carpenter shop until he was 30. Then, for three years, he was an itinerant preacher.
He never wrote a book. He never held an office. He never had a family or owned a home. He didn't go to college. He never lived in a big city. He never traveled 200 miles from the place where he was born.
He did none of the things that usually accompany greatness. He had no credentials but himself.
He was only 33 when the tide of public opinion turned against him. His friends ran away. One of them denied him.
He was turned over to his enemies and went through the mockery of a trial. He was nailed to a cross between two thieves. While he was dying, his executioners gambled for his garments, the only property he had on earth. When he was dead, he was laid in a borrowed grave, through the pity of a friend.
Twenty centuries have come and gone, and
today he is the central figure of the human race. I am well within the mark
when I say that:
all the armies that ever marched,
all the navies that ever sailed,
all the armies that ever marched,
all the navies that ever sailed,
all the parliaments that ever sat,
all the kings that ever reigned
--put together--
have not affected the life of man on this earth all the kings that ever reigned
--put together--
as much as that one, solitary life.

Let All Things Praise the LORD!
1 Praise the LORD!
Praise God in His sanctuary;
Praise Him in His mighty firmament!
2 Praise Him for His mighty acts;
Praise Him according to His excellent greatness!
3 Praise Him with the sound of the trumpet;
Praise Him with the lute and harp!
4 Praise Him with the timbrel and dance;
Praise Him with stringed instruments and flutes!
5 Praise Him with loud cymbals;
Praise Him with clashing cymbals!
6 Let everything that has breath praise the LORD.
Praise the LORD!
