The Daily Brief - Wednesday, November 2, 2011

"Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter through it." (Matthew 7:13)

The Daily Brief

1. FCC cracks down on religious broadcasters - POLITICO

The FCC has been mailing the letters for the past few days to churches from Maine to California, explaining that the hundreds of exemptions are now rescinded and giving the programmers 90 days to reapply.

- Lord, we can't help but note that these regulations do not appear to also be sent to small broadcasting mosques or local channels, but have come against your servants alone. We pray that what the enemy would use to silence Your Word from the airwaves, will instead result in the spread of the Gospel in even greater measure. We pray and speak Your Word that "no weapon formed against us shall prosper, and every tongue which rises against us in judgement, we shall condemn. For this is the heritage of the servants of the Lord. " Raise up mighty defenders for these churches we pray!

- "Now Lord, look on their threats, and grant to Your servants that with all boldness, they may speak Your Word. " (Acts 4:29)

2. Arizona smashes Mexico cartel drug smuggling network - BBC

US authorities say they have broken up a massive drug-smuggling network run by a Mexican cartel in Arizona. A total of 76 suspects have been arrested and huge quantities of drugs and arms seized in a series of raids. The ring used backpackers and vehicles to smuggle marijuana, cocaine and heroin across Arizona's western desert.

-YES LORD! We thank You for this mighty victory in Jesus Name! May this operation be just the beginning of the total decimation of the drug cartels. In particular we ask that the Mexican Sinaloa cartel responsible for this infiltration be utterly destroyed. May its leader, Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman, come out of the kingdom of darkness into Your glorious light. Deal with him Lord God! Give Your divine protection to the courageous men and women who worked to break up this massive drug smuggling network. And may this victory be repeated in neighborhoods all across America. Today we re-consecrate the grounds of every "trading floor for narcotics" to You, in Jesus Name.

- " The face of the Lord is against those who do evil, to cut off the memory of them from the earth. " (Psalm 34:16) "The earth is the Lord's and all its fullness!" (Psalm 24:1)

3. New cyber attack targets chemical firms - Reuters

At least 48 chemical and defense companies were victims of a coordinated cyber attack that has been traced to a man in China, according to a new report from security firm Symantec Corp. Computers belonging to these companies were infected with malicious software known as "PoisonIvy."

- Lord God Who created the universes, You are the LORD of cyber space, and we ask You to utterly confuse and route these enemies who work to infiltrate and destroy us through technology. We pray they will be fully exposed.

- " O (our) God, make haste to help us! Let them be confounded and consumed who are adversaries of (our) lives!"(Psalm 71:12,13)

4. New suspected nuclear complex exposed in Syria - Associated Press

UN investigators have identified a previously unknown complex in Syria that bolsters suspicions that the Syrian government worked with A.Q. Khan, the father of Pakistan's atomic bomb, to acquire technology that could be used to make nuclear arms. The buildings in northwest Syria closely match the design of a uranium enrichment plant provided to Libya when Moammar Gaddafi was trying to build nuclear weapons under Khan's guidance, officials told The Associated Press.

- Lord, as this ancient nation uses all manner of surreptitious and violent schemes to destroy Israel and others, we pray that all of their plans will be brought to light and stymied.

- " And have no fellowship with unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them. For it is shameful even to speak of those things which are done by them in secret. But all things that are exposed are made manifest by the light, for whatever makes manifest, is light. " (Ephesians 6:11-13)

5. China to Play a Big Role at G20 Summit - CNBC

Efforts to coax China into throwing the euro zone a lifeline will dominate this week's G20 Summit and leave Beijing holding the cards as world leaders try to restore market confidence with pledges to reduce economic imbalances. Heads of state and finance chiefs from the 20 leading economies want to use the Nov. 3-4 meeting in Cannes, France, to send a message that Europe has its debt crisis under control and any risks to the world economy are being taken care of.

- Lord, as these heads of state and finance chiefs from the 20 leading economies gather on Nov. 2 and 3 in France to attempt to sort out the indiscretions, debts and economic policies of the nations, we ask that You be the One guiding! May the nations know and acknowledge that You alone have the answers, and that You reveal them to those who diligently seek You.

-"The king's heart is in the hand of the Lord, Like the rivers of water, He turns it whichever way He wishes." (Proverbs 21:1)

The Middle East in Focus

This week, for all the headlines cited below, please join us in proclaiming THIS DECREE:

"I have set watchmen upon your walls, O Jerusalem, which shall never hold their peace day nor night: you that make mention of the LORD, keep not silence, And give him no rest, till He establish, and till he make Jerusalem a praise in the earth." (Isaiah 62:6-7)

1. Palestinians aim to join 16 other UN agencies - Ynet News

The Palestinian Authority's admittance to UNESCO as a full member is an achievement Israel should be pleased with -- or at least that's what Chief Palestinian Negotiator Saeb Erekat thinks.

2. Netanyahu calls for increased W. Bank settlement after UNESCO vote - Jerusalem Post

In an unprecedented move on Tuesday night, the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) announced that it was accelerating building in east Jerusalem Jewish neighborhoods and in two West Bank settlements close to the pre-1967 lines.

3. Israel gets ready to unveil David's Sling - UPI

The Israeli air force is preparing to deploy a new air-defense system with the biblical name of David's Sling, designed to intercept medium-range missiles, while the Iron Dome system deployed earlier battles Palestinian rockets.

4. Report: Israel seeking to upgrade its nuclear weapons capabilities - Ha'aretz

Israel is working on improving its nuclear weapons capabilities, according to a report by the independent Trident commission in the United Kingdom that was published in the Guardian newspaper on Monday.

The Daily Jot

America's self inflicted wake of destruction

In April 2006 meetings with the Israel Foreign Ministry, I was told that Israel, while patient, would not wait indefinitely to act against Iran's nuclear program. Israeli officials at that time were concerned that UN efforts to stop a nuclear weapon program in Iran were fruitless and that eventually it may come to unilateral action. Certainly, Israel was hopeful that the US would support the effort if it came down to that. In 2006, everybody knew except the UN that Iran was developing a nuclear weapon with the help of the Russians. The US-Israeli relationship was far stronger in 2006 than it is today. Now, it is reported that the man who occupies the Oval Office is concerned that Israel will launch an attack on Iran.

A news report from Ynet says that a US State Department official has expressed concerns that an upcoming UN report on Iran's military nuclear progress will "trigger Israeli actions against the Islamic Republic which may not necessarily be in line with US interests in the region." According to the article, the US is pressuring Russia and China to condemn Iran with harsher sanctions. But both countries have been part and parcel to helping Iran build its nuclear program and the missile systems to deliver a nuclear bomb. With the exiting of US troops from Iraq and a subsequent announcement that the US is seeking a strong military presence in Kuwait, the Middle East is a quagmire for foreign policy strategists.

Complicating the matter is that the US Administration has destabilized Egypt, Tunisia and Libya with so-called democracy that is resulting in the establishment of Sharia Islamic states. This makes the region more hostile to Israel, and at the same time, emboldens Iran as a sponsor of violence and terrorism. The alignment of the US with the Muslim Brotherhood, whose goal is a global Caliphate under Sharia, has added a tremendous, game changing element to an already unstable and tenuous situation. When a State Department official says that Israeli actions may not be in line with US interests in the region, one has to ask just what is that US interest. It appears to be in support of Islam throughout the region.

These are indeed perilous times as the godless are in the seat of control. Jeremiah 8:9-11 says, "The wise men are shamed, they are dismayed and taken: lo, they have rejected the word of the Lord; and what wisdom is in them? Therefore will I give their wives unto others, and their fields to them that shall inherit them: for every one from the least even unto the greatest is given to covetousness, from the prophet even unto the priest every one deals falsely. For they have healed the hurt of the daughter of my people slightly, saying, Peace, Peace; when there is no peace." These vain evildoers publicly chase after peace, when in reality they are void of God and thus destruction follows them.

HHS Defunds Catholic Group over Abortion Policy

Washington Post: Obama Administration Deliberately Defunded Bishops Group

Summary: Not renewing grant because of Catholic position on abortion caused internal strife within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

When the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) lost a federal contract with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) in October for the work it does with sex trafficking victims, many people suspected it was because the Catholic group will not provide or refer for abortions.

On Monday, The Washington Post reported that speculation as a fact.

Citing HHS sources who spoke on condition of anonymity, The Post reported that the USCCB contract was a matter of much discussion -- and strife -- within HHS before the agency officially adopted a policy giving "strong preference" to grant applicants that would provide or offer referrals for "the full range of legally permissible gynecological and obstetric care."

"It was so clearly and blatantly trying to come up with a certain outcome. That's very distasteful to people," one official told the paper.

Since 2006, the USCCB has received $19 million from the federal government for the work it does providing food, shelter and counseling to sex-trafficking victims. But in 2009, the American Civil Liberties Union sued the government for granting the money to the pro-life USCCB, claiming it's an "unconstitutional" use of taxpayer dollars. That case was heard by a federal judge in Massachusetts on Oct. 18; a decision is pending.

Though HHS officially denies committing any kind of religious discrimination, The Post reports that internal documents reveal an independent review board and career staff members had recommended that USCCB's contract be renewed, but "senior political appointees" in the department overrode them.

The USCCB did not return calls for comment. But Sister Mary Ann Walsh, one of the organization's spokespeople, wrote in an Oct. 13 blog post that the situation smacks of religious discrimination.

"The USCCB program excelled because of its anytime-anywhere approach," she wrote. "Should an Immigration Enforcement official find a vulnerable child, for example, a call to the program got safe housing immediately.

"The program worked well on the ground, but not so well for distant administrators promoting the abortion and contraception agenda, who bristle at the fact that in accord with church teaching, USCCB won't facilitate taking innocent life, sterilization and artificial contraception. ... So much for the (Obama a)dministration's guarantee of conscience protection." (CitizenLink)

Beautiful, prophetic artwork available at a special discount to our Prayer Partners!

Dear Friends,

We are going to break from our tradition of "no advertising" today to introduce you to the beautiful, prophetic artwork of one of our dear friends, Mike de Lorenzo.

We have been blessed to receive prints from Mike over the years . . . each one stunning in its presentation. (One of our recent "favorites" is that of JAPAN, released shortly after the tsunami last March, and used by our intercessors as a point of contact when praying for that nation.)

This fall, Mike released another new painting: THE WAILING WALL. When we saw that one, we asked if we might share his work with all of you. Happily, Mike has granted us this privilege . . . AND then he added a special blessing, too!

Please read the information from Mike, below, and allow the Holy Spirit to minister to you. At the very least, you may wish to visit his website, where all of his artwork is displayed, along with an explanation of the meaning of the symbols used throughout.

Praying that each of you will be blessed to discover this "treasure trove" of prophetic art . . . for such a time as this.

In His Grace,

Capitol Hill Prayer Partners

My name is Mike De Lorenzo. I'm a prophetic artist and a pastor of a home church in the Seattle area.

Several years ago, the Lord called me to paint prophetic art as He directs. For example, I have done several paintings of Washington DC which have come out of a prophetic prayer assignment to the nation's capital. There are some amazing things that happen during the assignments of some of the paintings, and I share a little of that under each painting.

I have received several prayer assignments for different nations, but this last year I asked the Lord; "What are my assignments for 2011," I felt in my spirit "first the Jew, than the Gentiles." So this year was the Wailing Wall, and the Dome of the Rock.

My web page gives you the details of each work of art. To see this, please go here.

Or visit my website at: http://www.myfathershouseministries.com

If you order and let me know that you are with the Capitol Hill Prayer Partners, I will give you two for the price of one on the prints, when you order directly from me. OR, if you go through Pay Pal you may have to order one through there and just let me know what the second is . . . so that it will go through.

Or you can send a check to:

My Father's House Ministries
2019 S 231 St. Des Moines, WA

Just tell me which print what you want, and which size (when there is a choice).

Please call me directly for larger orders.

My heart is just to get the art to the intercessors and the Body of Christ.

If you want several just call . . . and make a donations as the Lord would direct you.

In Israel: Filter Device Prevents Stroke

A revolutionary, minimally invasive heart repair procedure, now being investigated in America and already being performed by European doctors, could save the lives of older people who might not be able to withstand open-heart surgery to repair their heart valves. However, up to 15% of all patients undergoing this procedure - called TAVI (transcatheter aortic valve implantation) - suffer a stroke on the operating table.

"Studies of the last two years have shown significant incidence of stroke with this [TAVI] procedure," SMT CEO Paul Zalesky tells ISRAEL21c. "These valves are so diseased that big chunks of calcium [break off] when they go in to do the procedure. Sometimes this material is knocked off, and breaks loose and goes into the brain."

Foreseeing the risk years ago as TAVI was being developed, Israeli cardiologist Dr. Dov Shimon invented a novel way to prevent stroke. His innovation is a filter against these embolisms. Fitted onto the aortic arch, the medical device - now under development by the Israeli company SMT Research and Development - ensures that particles do not get into the blood flowing to the three main vessels leading from the heart. Inserted before the operation and removed shortly after, the SMT filter holds great promise for many patients because it is performed through an artery in the leg.

Dr. Pieter Stella of the University Medical Center in the Netherlands, got a sneak preview: "The SMT device is the first embolic protection device that I have seen that offers coverage of all three primary vessels feeding the brain." (Bridges for Peace)

I AM THE GOD THAT HEALETH THEE - Don Moen (With Lyrics)

"If you diligently heed the voice of the Lord your God and do what is right in HIs sight, give ear to His commandments and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have brought on the Egyptians. For I am the Lord who heals you." (Exodus 15:26)
