The Daily Brief - Friday, November 11, 2011

"Your watchmen shall lift up their voice; with the voice together shall they sing: for they shall see eye to eye, when the LORD shall bring again Zion." (Isaiah 52:8)

The Daily Brief

1. White House Misses Solyndra Subpoena Deadline - Fox News

The White House on Thursday missed the noon deadline for responding to the Republican-approved subpoena issued last week demanding the White House turn over "all documents" pertaining to the Solyndra loan guarantee. But while White House aides earlier told Fox News there are no plans to produce more documents on the bankrupt solar panel firm until Republicans agree to narrow the scope of their request, House Republicans issued a statement saying they expect some response by the end of the day.

- Father, we ask that you would bestow upon the President, a spirit of humility in place of arrogance, and obedience to the law, rather than defiance of it. We do ask that You would reveal the secret things, and uncover that which is hidden, so it may become public knowledge, and be appropriately dealt with. We ask Lord, for truth to prevail, and for Your purposes to be fulfilled.

- "All of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because, God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble. Humble yourselves, therefore, under God's mighty hand, that He may lift you up, in due time." (I Peter 5:5,6)

2. Job, trade data hint at stronger growth - Reuters

New U.S. claims for jobless benefits fell last week to their lowest level since early April and the trade deficit unexpectedly shrank in September, pointing to a slight improvement in the sluggish economy.

- Lord, we thank You for this little piece of good news concerning those needing jobs. We praise You, as our Provider. We ask that all of our states would show improvement in this area, and that Americans will be able to work and provide for their families. Amen!

-"He becomes poor who works with a slack and idle hand, but the hand of the diligent makes rich." (Proverbs 10:4)

3. Alabama county to file for largest municipal bankruptcy in U.S. history - Financial Post

Jefferson County, Alabama, commissioners voted 4-1 to file the largest U.S. municipal bankruptcy after reaching an impasse over concessions with holders of $3.14 billion of bonds.

- Abba, we are saddened to hear of this unprecedented bankruptcy of a county. We understand that there are many in Alabama who are poor, and those who depend on farming, etc. have suffered, due to the weather extremes over the growing season. We ask, Lord, that in Your compassion You would enable them to find the resources they need, to restore the necessary income to sustain the county, as well as the individual families. Thank You. Amen.

-"The lips of the righteous feed many, But fools die for lack of wisdom. The blessing of the LORD makes one rich, And He adds no sorrow with it." (Proverbs 10:21,22)

4. Dems make secret offer to cut deficit by $2 trillion - MSNBC

Democrats on Congress' supercommittee secretly presented Republicans with a revised deficit-cutting proposal earlier this week that calls for a blend of $1 trillion in spending cuts and $1 trillion in higher tax revenue over the next decade, officials in both parties said Wednesday night, adding that compromise talks remain alive though troubled.

- Jehovah, our Covenant-Keeping God, we thank You that You have the answers to all these "knotty" problems. We ask You, Lord, to give our lawmakers Your wisdom concerning dealing with our deficit. Lord, it does not take a mathematician to see that this proposal, would basically not change anything. If you cut $1 trillion and then add $1 trillion back in from a tax hike...you pretty much cancelled the cut, and increased the tax burden on the people. We pray, Lord, again, that You would reveal the secret things and hidden agendas, so an amicable, intelligent solution can be reached that will be effective in reducing the deficit and bring relief to the people! Amen.

-"For wisdom is better than rubies, And all the things one may desire cannot be compared with her. I, wisdom, dwell with prudence, And find out knowledge and discretion. The fear of the LORD is to hate evil; Pride and arrogance and the evil way And the perverse mouth I hate." (Proverbs 8:11-13)

5. Americans' support for Israel rising - Jerusalem Post

Americans' support for Israel is up, with the increase coming from unexpected sectors, an Israel Project poll released on Thursday revealed. So-called "opinion elites" and Democratic voters drove the shift, which pegged American voter support for Israel around the 60 percent mark in the survey conducted last week.

- Abba, we thank You, the God of Israel, and our God, for this wonderful news. We pray that this number of supporters of Israel will continue to increase. May it cause our elected officials to know the mind of the people, and may we elect only those individuals who are true friends of Israel, we pray!! In Yeshua's Name, Amen!

-"You will arise and have mercy and loving-kindness for Zion, for it is time to have pity and compassion for her; yes, the set time has come [the moment designated]." (Psalm 102:13)

The Middle East in Focus

This week, for all the headlines cited below, please join us in proclaiming THIS DECREE:

There's no one like your God, Jeshurun! He rides through the heavens to help you. In majesty he rides through the clouds. The eternal God is your shelter, and his everlasting arms support you. He will force your enemies out of your way and tell you to destroy them. So Israel will live securely. Jacob's spring will be left alone in a land of grain and new wine. Dew will drip from Israels skies. You are blessed, Israel! Who is like you, a nation saved by the Lord. He is a shield that helps you and a sword that wins your victories. Your enemies will come crawling to you,and you will stomp on their backs. (Deuteronomy 33:26-29)

A pipeline transporting Egyptian natural gas to Israel and Jordan was damaged by two explosions, forcing a halt in exports of the fuel in the seventh such attack since February, Egypt's Oil Ministry said.

2. Obama's Mideast adviser steps down amid stalled peace talks - Ha'aretz

Homosexuality and Penn State

Penn State University is in the headlines every day now over the acts of a homosexual pedophile and the university's complicity in an assistant coach who allegedly violated several young boys during his tenure as a coach and as a head of children's advocacy organization. The aftermath is the public judging of revered coach Joe Paterno for not doing enough to stop it or to bring police into the mix sooner. It seems as though the public is losing sight of some of the important factors here. Children were abused. The abuser was a homosexual pedophile--not Joe Paterno. Now those who participated in a cover up, if they did so, have perpetrated a horrible act against humanity. But the culprit is homosexuality.

I know that there will be some Christians getting mad about this because there are so many out there that believe that homosexuality is just OK. They argue that people are born that way. They argue that they are all God's children so we should love them. And I know that this column will be misinterpreted and misconstrued. But bottom line is, homosexuality is an abomination unto the Lord. And it is certainly an abomination unto the children and the families of those children whose lives will be forever changed by this vile and disgusting behavior that American society continues to try to excuse. It wasn't Joe Paterno who abused those children. The man who did it was a homosexual.

From a Biblical world view, all homosexual acts are perverted. In Leviticus 18:22, the Lord says, "Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination." In Leviticus 20:13, the Lord says, "If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them." This is how serious a sin homosexuality is to God and how God wished it to be handled among his people. If you want a New Testament picture of how homosexuality is viewed, Romans 1:21 through 32--words like "vile affections," "reprobate mind," "dishonor their own bodies," concluding, "they which commit such things are worthy of death."

Nowadays, however, homosexuality is celebrated. Its on just about every TV show. Its taught in public schools as normal. It is a protected class. Homosexuals compare themselves with blacks regarding discrimination. I can tell you that I have met former homosexuals, but I have never met a former black man. When society puts such an emphasis on an evil thing, is it no wonder that Joe Paterno would be ushered out of office in shame for "not doing enough" when the spotlight ought to be on the pervert and his homosexual deeds? Even the American Psychological Association has published papers saying man-boy relationships are healthy to the child. With society so obsessed with approving perversion, is it any wonder that there are not more Penn State-type stories?
Have a Blessed and Powerful Day!

A Call to Prayer

Watchman Alert - Call to Prayer

I'm writing to make you aware of several warnings I've received recently concerning terrorist attacks against America, and to ask you to join me in praying for protection from these attacks. Within the last few months I have had several credible dreams presented to me about this, five of which have been within the last week. While warnings such as these are subjective in nature, and dreams always need careful discernment and interpretation, I feel that the dramatic and sudden increase of these warnings merits this call to prayer.

I don't feel it is necessary to give details from the dreams-suffice it to say that the attacks seen were worse than 9/11. For some time many of us have felt that more terrorism was possible for America. One need not be particularly prophetic to know this is planned by our enemies-indeed, our government warns us of this and encourages regular vigilance, and plots have on occasion been discovered and thwarted. But many intercessors and prophets have felt that something on a bigger scale is being planned and stands the chance of succeeding. This is what the recent dreams warn of, and the sense is that it could be imminent.

I'm asking you to join me-for the next few days especially, but also over the next few weeks-in interceding for God's protection over our nation. Yes, we as a nation have sinned against the Lord in many ways, and perhaps if we receive what we deserve it would be further judgment. But that is to be determined by the Lord and it is always appropriate to ask Him for His mercy.

• Pray that plots be exposed and the individuals involved be discovered and captured.
• Pray for the success of our law enforcement and protection agencies.
• Pray for sound leads to come to them and for the necessary wisdom to "connect the dots."
• Ask God to forgive and cleanse us of our wicked ways, and continue to pray that America receives a third great awakening.

Let's all do our part ward off any and every attempt to bring violence and destruction to our land. Please help spread the word by forwarding this message about these warnings and the call to prayer.

Thank you for joining me in this watchman alert.
