"Pray without ceasing . . ." (I Thessalonians 5:17)

1. US Budget Woes Could Hit European Missile Defense - NewsMax

A breakdown in high-stakes budget talks in Congress could threaten plans for a missile defense shield in Europe. Beyond missile defense, the automatic cuts could prompt the U.S. to save money by shifting some warships away from Europe but probably would not lead to fewer U.S. troops there. It is still possible that supercommittee members could set aside intense partisan differences and reach a deal by Wednesday. And if they do not, Congress might find a way to cancel the cuts before they take effect in 2013.

That may only delay the scaling back of the U.S. military role in Europe. A decade-long expansion of military spending appears to be coming to an end, and the Obama administration has indicated it is shifting its foreign policy toward Asia, where it sees the greatest opportunities and threats of coming decades.

- Heavenly Father, give us wisdom, we pray. If this shield and military presence in Europe is absolutely important and necessary, then block all efforts to cut back in all areas of defense. Give our leaders abundant wisdom on where we can strategically place our troops to our advantage for our security, and also that of our allies.

-Because You have been my help, therefore in the shadow of Your wings I will rejoice . . . But those who seek my life, to destroy it, shall go into the lower parts of the earth. (Psalm 63:7, 9)

2. Former Mexico Cartel Leader's Nephew Indicted in Texas - Reuters

A federal grand jury in Texas charged a powerful former cartel chief's nephew on Friday in a drug and money laundering conspiracy that stretched across the United States. While Mexican authorities have captured or killed a number of cartel kingpins in recent years, many of the gangs have splintered under the increased pressure.

The indictment said Cardenas Vela used drug trafficking proceeds to bribe Mexican police officers and purchase bulletproof vehicles, firearms, grenades and homemade cannons used by the Gulf cartel in its fight against the Zetas. He faces 10 years to life in prison if convicted of the drug conspiracy and up to $10 million in fines.

- Lord, we are being besieged on every side. We have the terrorists coming in from the east coast and the drug traffickers on our southern borders. We pray a Hedge of Protection around our nation. Restore our hedges once again and give us peace in our land. Keep our officials vigilant to wicked schemes from our enemies.

- As it is written in the Law of Moses, all this disaster has come upon us; yet we have not made our prayer before the Lord our God, that we might turn from our iniquities and understand Your truth.
(Daniel 9:13)

3. American spies outed, CIA suffers in Lebanon
- AP

The CIA's operations in Lebanon have been badly damaged after Hezbollah identified and captured a number of U.S. spies recently, current and former U.S. officials told The Associated Press. The intelligence debacle is particularly troubling because the CIA saw it coming. Officials said several foreign spies working for the CIA had been captured by Hezbollah in recent months. The blow to the CIA's operations in Lebanon came after top agency managers were alerted last year to be especially careful handling informants in the Middle East country.

- Lord, we intercede on behalf of any captured U.S. spies and pray for their protection and release. We pray for the CIA, and wisdom on handling this situation. We pray anyone revealing security information to enemies be exposed.

- Lord, blind the eyes of our enemies from seeing security information that would be harmful to us. We pray for protection for all those serving and working for our country. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen.

- He has blinded their eyes (John 12: 40)

4. Hackers 'hit' US water treatment systems - BBC

Hackers are alleged to have destroyed a pump used to pipe water to thousands of homes in a US city in Illinois. Hackers with access to the utility's network are thought to have broken the pump by turning it on and off quickly. The FBI and Department for Homeland Security (DHS) are investigating the incident as details emerge of what could be a separate second attack.

- We know the prince of the air has much of the airways. We pray for salvation in all areas of media, including internet, TV, radio, and print, so that truth and righteousness may be put on the airways. If hackers will not repent, may they be exposed and prosecuted. We pray for protection for our water and food supply and energy supply. Let Your kingdom come and Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven, Lord Jesus. In Your name we pray, Jesus. Amen.

- according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience.
(Ephesians 2:2)

5. As Drought Continues, Depleted Texas Lakes Expose Ghost Towns, Graves
- Fox News

Across the state, receding lakes have revealed a prehistoric skull, ancient tools, fossils, and a small cemetery that appears to contain the graves of freed slaves. Some of the discoveries have attracted interest from local historians, and looters also have scavenged for pieces of history. More than two dozen looters have been arrested at one site.

- Though the historic finds may be interesting, we pray especially for the end of the drought in Texas. Thank you for the rain there today; may there be more rain and springs of water. We say "Restore" the desolate areas of Texas. In the name of Jesus we ask. Amen

- They are for prey, and no one delivers; For plunder, and no one says, "Restore!".
(Isaiah 43:22)

6. Rich nations 'give up' on new climate treaty until 2020 - Guardian UK

Ahead of critical talks starting next week, most of the world's leading economies now privately admit that no new global climate agreement will be reached before 2016 at the earliest, and that even if it were negotiated by then, they would stipulate it could not come into force until 2020.

Lord, wake people to know that You control the climate.

- The earth is the Lord's, and all its fullness. (Psalm 24:1)

The Middle East in Focus

This week, for all the headlines cited below, please join us in proclaiming THIS DECREE:

"Not unto us, O LORD, not unto us, but unto Your name give glory, for Your mercy, and for Your truth's sake. Why should the nations say, Where is their God? But our God is in the heavens. He has done whatever He has pleased."
(Psalm 115:1-3)

1. US, Russia and UK back Israel at Mideast meeting - AP

In a boost to Israel, Russia joined the U.S. and Britain on Tuesday in backing the Jewish state's view that the Middle East cannot be turned into a nuclear arms-free zone without progress on regional peace.

2. Lieberman: Demolition of illegal West Bank outposts will end Netanyahu cabinet - Ha'aretz

The coalition of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will unravel if Israel goes ahead with either the planned demolition of two illegal West Bank outposts or the handover of Palestinian tax money to the Palestinian Authority, Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman said on Monday.

3. Israel to deploy new intelligence battalion on Egyptian border
- Israel Today

The Israel Defense Forces has announced the establishment of a new intelligence-gathering battalion to be stationed along the Israel-Egypt border. The move comes after a surge in violence from the increasingly lawless Sinai Peninsula, where radical groups have gained a foothold following the ouster of Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak in February.

4. Israel to continue freeze on Palestinian tax money, says senior official - Ha'aretz

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his forum of eight senior ministers decided Sunday to continue Israel's freeze on the transfer of the Palestinian Authority's tax money, a senior Israeli official said, due to the latest moves by Fatah and Hamas aimed at establishing a unity government.

5. Israel boosts naval patrols around Med gas fields - Reuters

Israel has gradually boosted naval patrols around its east Mediterranean natural gas fields for fear of guerrilla attacks and as maritime rivalry with Turkey deepens, an Israeli official said on Monday.

The troubling implications of Jose Pimentel's arrest

The arrest of Jose Pimentel says a lot about the war on terror, homeland security, the news media, and the Islamic threat to America. Pimentel is a 27 year old man who New York police arrested on charges of plotting to build bombs to kill American soldiers returning from the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, as well as post offices, police cars and other facilities. He is a naturalized US citizen born in the Dominican Republic. In most news stories from major media, the fact that Pimentel is a converted Muslim is buried or never revealed. But Pimentel's post-conversion name is Muhammad Yusuf--which was not reported by mainstream US media, but rather by the UK Telegraph and the UK Independent.

There is more to the story. The FBI and Homeland Security didn't see Yusuf as a threat and declined to take on the case, according to the New York Police Department. NYPD, however, persisted that Yusuf was worth watching. Yusuf was a follower of al Qaeda terrorist mastermind Anwar al-Awlaki, who the US disposed of via a September drone attack in Yemen. Yusuf was inspired by al Qaeda's online magazine "Inspire" to use an article's instructions to build a bomb in your mother's kitchen. And that's exactly what he is charged with as he was living with his mother and proceeded to build a bomb from materials that he purchased from Home Depot.

Interesting that Yusuf's mother Carmen Sosa told reporters that she was shocked and saddened by what her son is alleged to have done. She said, "I would like to apologize about this, I mean I didn't raise my son that way. I feel very bad about this. I always loved New York the way it is. I also want to say thank you to the police. I think they handled it well." She said her son was raised Catholic but became interested in Islam shortly after the September 11 attacks. The mother said that she was "very disappointed with what my son was doing." She said she never saw him with bomb-making materials and that most of the time, "He was very calm. He was praying to Allah, reading the Quran."

Throughout the Bible there are examples of what happens when the people of a country turn away from God. As a nation, the United States has reversed its longstanding and traditional reverence of God to become revelers of humanism and false gods. The Lord said of Babylon in Jeremiah 51:14, "Surely I will fill thee with men, as with locusts, and they shall lift up a battle cry against thee." The US today looks a lot like the Babylon of yesteryears--so much so that the FBI and Homeland Security do not see people like Yusuf a threat--so much so that the mainstream news media ignores the very reason this Islamic convert did what he did--reading the Quran and the hate filled propaganda its followers produce.

Super Failure

The congressional deficit reduction super committee is rapidly running out of time to negotiate a deal, and press reports suggest there likely won't be one. Already there is a growing chorus of talking heads saying how sick and tired they are of Washington, how our leaders just can't do anything anymore, how our system is broken. I often see this same sentiment in the emails I get every day.

Sorry, but I dissent. In my view, the failure of the super committee to reach common ground reflects the growing divide in America today.

If you are reading these daily reports, you believe in lower taxes, smaller government and traditional values. If you start your day off at the Daily Kos or at an "Occupy" rally, then you probably believe in higher taxes, bigger government and liberal values. If you put six "End of Day" readers and six Daily Kos readers in a room, it's unlikely either side would budge on core principles.

It's the same with the super committee. Democrats believe the problem in Washington is a lack of revenue. Republicans believe the problem is too much spending. This is what we have elections for, but gridlock occurs when there is divided government. If Obama and his allies win in 2012, they are promising to raise your taxes to pay for all their spending. (Gary Bauer)

Panel Gobbles up the Clock

Before Thanksgiving, Panel Gobbles up the Clock

Although the Super Committee has been a super failure, FRC and a coalition of conservative groups hosted a news conference to warn Republicans not to cave on tax increases as part of a last-minute deal. Together with Brent Bozell, Chairman of ForAmerica, Tim Phillips, President of Americans for Prosperity, Jenny Beth Martin, National Coordinator for Tea Party Patriots, David Bossie, President of Citizens United and former Attorney General Ed Meese, we reminded the GOP that raising taxes loses elections. As I told the crowd, the Super Committee may have failed in brokering another deal, but it succeeded in showing Americans the vast ideological divide that stands between the two main political parties.
On one hand, there's a party that believes we can sustain spending levels that have doubled in the last decade. Leaders of the other party refused to increase taxes and focused on trimming the bloated budget and raising revenue through changes to the tax structure. I applaud the six Republican members of the committee: Senators Pat Toomey, Jon Kyl, and Rob Portman, as well as Representatives Dave Camp, Jeb Hensarling and Fred Upton, because they refused to see higher taxes as the solution.

Some people may wonder why FRC has weighed in on the budget, the deficit, and the economy over the years. We feel strongly that American families are impacted by a bloated government that's driven by out of control spending. We also believe that the family is the key to getting our economy back on track. If we ever hope to shrink the size and scope of government, we must first strengthen the American family--not with government programs, but with public policies that promote, not discourage, family formation. Although the Super Committee is over, the battle is not. It's time for Congress to get back to the work that it should have done openly: Cut (the budget), Cap (spending), Balance (a budget amendment) and bury (ObamaCare). Only then can we provide stability, and ultimately, growth to our economy. (Family Research Council; Washington Update)

OCCUPY WALL STREET:

A Special Report from Intercessors for America

Intercessors for America has released an excellent in-depth study of the "organization" and the "organizers" who are promoting the Occupy movement in America.

This eleven-page document identifies the names -- and the faces -- of those men and women who are behind this movement.

More importantly, IFA ends this study by listing several ways to pray for those who are caught in the deception of the Occupy movement, that each one might come to know the One who sets us all free.

We thank Intercessors for America for releasing this study to us, to forward on to all of you. You can read their report by going here.
Thank you, IFA!

THE MEANING OF "SHALOM"

We recently received a teaching by Dr. Suuqiina, a Native American believer and the director of Indigenous Ministries International, which has profoundly impacted the way we view our own authority as we walk the Halls of Congress, praying for "all in authority," as required.
Dr. Suuqiina has spent years studying the Word of God in the original Hebrew, and has taught us the TRUE MEANING of the word "SHALOM."

The word "shalom" actually . . .
. . . destroys the structure of the authority that brings chaos!

HALLELUJAH!!

With this in mind, here is a strategy that has come together for me while walking on the mountain of government, Capitol Hill, Washington, DC - and which we all can keep in mind when praying "on site" . . .

Scriptures:

* Ephesians 6:15: "...and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace (shalom); - part of the armor of God"

* Romans 16:20: "And the God of peace (shalom) will soon crush Satan under your feet."
So -- as we walk on the mountain of government with our feet shod with the Gospel of Peace, the SHALOM of God destroys the structure of the authority that brings chaos!

We trust that this insight will bring a blessing to YOU, too, wherever you are walking in prayer, and claiming our land for the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords. Amen!

And . . . shalom!!!!
