1. International alarm over euro zone crisis grows - Reuters
International alarm over Europe's debt crisis hit new heights on Tuesday, with Obama pressing the bloc's big countries to show leadership as talk of a Greek default escalated and markets heaped pressure on Italy.
- God, the secretive enemies of the world who are in the process of taking down the economic stability of all nations must be stopped by the all-encompassing indomitable power of our God. Let all the world stay on the prophetic clock that is written in the Word of God. The new age, end-of-the-world, new world order is held at bay and will not preempt the destruction prophesied before its time. In Jesus' Name.

2. Republican wins US Congress seat in New York - USA Today
Republican businessman Bob Turner won a special election for a US Congress seat in a Democrat stronghold here, dealing a major blow to President Barack Obama, media reported early Wednesday.

The income of the typical American family--long the envy of much of the world--has dropped for the third year in a row and is now roughly where it was in 1996 when adjusted for inflation.
- God, we ask that You scatter all the people who delight in taking down the economy in America. We war against our enemies through the power of holy strength and pull down that which would put a cap on the income level of our people. Break the seal that would keep us down and bring forth an upsurge in salaries that will more than sustain the American families. In Jesus' Name.

4. U.S. not prepared for major cyber attack, must rapidly increase intelligence, report finds Read more - NY Daily News
A report by the Intelligence and National Security Alliance says the U.S. must rapidly increase development of cyber intelligence to better fight computer-related threats.
- God, we ask that You arm these men and women with the intelligence to provide for the means of defense in the cyber intelligence work-related community. Help them excel and go full blast ahead to be prepared to block and retaliate against our enemies. Hold back the powers of darkness by the hand of the Lord that there be no cyber attack nor destructive infiltration. Drive out the enemy wherever they are found. In the Name of Jesus.

5. Smaller corn surplus could push food prices higher - AP
Food prices could rise next year because an unseasonably hot summer likely damaged much of this year's corn crop.
- Father, we look to our God to provide ample rain upon the farmlands across America, so there be enough food and water to sustain and satisfy life. We pray for the poor and needy of our country to not be overwhelmed with compounded lack. Intervene for us, Lord, that there be no increase in food prices. May we all pray together, family with family, for God to take control and provide for our necessary needs. In Jesus' Name.

6. Contract Dispute Grounds Firefighting Planes - Human Events
Nearly half of the federal government's firefighting air tankers are sitting idle at a California airport, grounded by the Obama administration in a contract dispute just weeks before wildfires swept through Texas killing a mother and her child, and destroying 100,000 acres.
- God, help us. Texas needed these planes in order to save lives and homes. Tremendous destruction was allowed. Speak to this administration to release these planes for Texas, so this agonizing fire will be put out. Bind the forces of evil and release the answer to our prayers. In the Name of Jesus we pray.

1. UN experts: Israel's blockade of Gaza illegal - Jerusalem Post
Israel's naval blockade of the Gaza Strip violates international law, a panel of human rights experts reporting to a UN body said on Tuesday, disputing a conclusion reached by a separate UN probe into Israel's raid on a Gaza-bound aid ship.
2. Arab League urges international community to back Palestinian statehood - Ha'aretz
In an opening address to an Arab foreign ministers' meeting Tuesday in Cairo, chairman Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim al-Thani, the Qatari prime minister, urged the international community to back a Palestinian bid for statehood, which Arabs will support at the United Nations this month.
3. Fatah Official Says Palestinians Will Seek Full UN Recognition - VOA News
Palestinian leaders appear ready to pursue full recognition from the United Nations despite American warnings that such a move would be counterproductive to Mideast peace efforts.
4. New technology allows Turkey to attack Israeli targets - Jerusalem Post
Turkey's Military Electronic Industry developed a new identification system for its F-16 fighter jets that will allow it to attack Israeli targets, according to a Tuesday report by the Turkish Star Gazete.

Smoking Gun: Justice Department covering up selling guns to drug cartel members
On September 7, Attorney General Eric Holder told reporters that reports were untrue linking his department and the White House with the decision to sell guns to Mexican drug runners through Operation Fast and Furious. He claimed they were politically motivated, saying, "The notion that somehow or other this thing reaches into the upper levels of the Justice Department is something that. ... I don't think is supported by the facts. It's kind of something I think certain members of Congress would like to see, the notion that somehow or other high-level people in the department were involved." This is an outright denial that he (Holder) or any other high official knew about the operation.
I am not going to mince words. Holder is lying. On April 2, 2009, Holder gave a speech to the Mexico/United States Arms Trafficking Conference in Cuernavaca, Mexico. Posted on the US Department of Justice's website (www.justice.gov/ag/speeches/2009/ag-speech-090402.html) are his remarks. He said, "Last week, our administration launched a major new effort to break the backs of the cartels. My department is committing 100 new ATF personnel to the Southwest border in the next 100 days to supplement our ongoing Project Gunrunner, DEA is adding 16 new positions on the border, as well as mobile enforcement teams, and the FBI is creating a new intelligence group focusing on kidnapping and extortion."
Project Gunrunner and Operation Fast and Furious are synonymous. CBS News, for example, reported on February 23, 2011 the death of border agent Brian Terry, who was murdered by a drug cartel thug using an assault rifle purchased at a US gun shop. The weapon was part of thousands of guns that were delivered into the hands of Mexican drug cartel criminals by the Justice Department's Federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms. CBS reported that ATF said "the idea was to gather intelligence to see where the guns ended up." The murder of Terry brought this insane program to the public forefront, where the Attorney General has denied any prior knowledge.
A search of the Justice Department website shows dozens of releases and statements on the subject, many by Holder himself. Holder's Justice Department authorized the sale of weapons to Mexican drug cartel members through US gun shops. The purpose was to track the weapons when crimes were committed. Americans have been killed because of it. Holder denies knowing of it. The President denies knowing of it. But there are references throughout the Justice Department website touting it. Jesus said in John 3:20, "For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved." Here is a place where the light of truth needs to shine.

America 2, Obama 0
Last night Republican congressional candidates soundly won special elections in Nevada and New York. Democrats today are reaching for the Maalox, but they will soon need something stronger than that. Consider this Politico headline: "Twin Defeats Spark Democratic Fears."
In Nevada's 2nd District, former state Sen. Mark Amodei crushed Kate Marshall 58%-to-36%. Democrats fought hard to win this district. Obama took 49% of the vote there in 2008, and Kate Marshall is in her second term as Nevada's State Treasurer. Given Harry Reid's victory last year, Democrats thought they had a chance by running a well-known statewide office holder. But the voters were not interested in sending another Obama Democrat to Washington.
But the bigger and more dramatic win was in New York's 9th District, Democrat Anthony Weiner's old seat, where Republican businessman Bob Turner defeated Assemblyman David Weprin 54%-to-46%. Democratic National Committee chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz tried to spin the results by saying, "It's a very difficult district for Democrats." Really? Obama won the district by 11 points in 2008. Democrats have held this seat since the early 1920s! Mrs. Wasserman Schultz' spin doesn't pass the straight face test.
Yesterday's results are a clear repudiation of President Obama. The GOP candidates attacked Obama non-stop. And Democrats know they have an "Obama problem." According to The Hill, a Democrat strategist is advising potential candidates not to run next year, saying, "I'm warning my clients -- 'Don't run in 2012.' I don't want to see good candidates lose by 12 to 15 points because of the president." (Gary Bauer)

Obama Campaign Launches AttackWatch.com
As the campaign heats up and Obama's approval rating falls even further, Democrats are getting desperate. The latest evidence comes in the form of a new website, called AttackWatch.com. The site is a disinformation effort to discredit bad news about Obama. It also encourages liberals to report "attacks" against Obama -- anything from TV and radio ads to blogs and emails. If this sounds familiar, it should. The Obama campaign did the same thing in 2008 with a site called "Fight The Smears."
What will they do next? Public service ads telling us that if we oppose Obama we should just turn ourselves in? I have decided to save them the trouble. The next time I go after Obama and his failed policies, I will voluntarily report it on their AttackWatch website. I wouldn't want them to miss it! (Gary Bauer)

The mainstream media has avoided the story but bloggers left and right are abuzz with news about this emerging, radical, leftwing movement that will debut this Saturday. The '60's-style protest is targeting Wall Street, NYC, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle and Austin as well as Israel with future protests planned elsewhere.
The group's website declares its intentions as peaceful, but it uses warfare language and reports say its leaders have been trained in violent tactics that match that rhetoric. The events threaten to play out like the recent violent protests in Great Britain. Movement leaders have close ties to the founders of ACORN and leaders of major U.S. unions. A closer look reveals that the movement's goal is far more than a socialistic protest against capitalism, but is a genuine effort to disrupt the markets, do real economic damage, and bring down the United States.
Michelle Malkin links the "rage" and the anarchistic Longshoremen in Washington State. The rhetoric echoes the militant threats Jimmy Hoffa made at a presidential campaign rally, threats President Obama, who spoke at the rally, has refused to condemn. The movement takes its name from the violent 1969 Anti-American protest that showcased what became the "Weather Underground," an outgrowth of Students for a Democratic Society (SDS). Leaders like the now-infamous Bill Ayers were impatient with the more peaceful strategies of the SDS. This new movement plans to use Twitter, Facebook and cell phones for tactical ground communication. In fact, some evidence suggests that Bill Ayers may have played a consulting role in the revolutionary "Arab Spring" movement in Egypt. (Source: Family Research Council Prayer Targets)
- Father, restrain protestors in each of these cities. May all their plans be exposed and fail! Give those in authority safety and wisdom to do their jobs. Cause the news media accurately to report the events. Please prevent all efforts by anti-American ideologues to influence the 2012 elections as ACORN and others did in 2008. Please advance patriotic, God-fearing candidates for public office and help them to defeat those who foster socialism, anarchy and immorality.

An Urgent Call to Pray for Israel
A Special Message From Pat Robertson
Dear Partners and Friends,
I am emailing you today about an urgent matter of prayer.
This month the United Nations will vote on a resolution to recognize a group of people, the Palestinians, as a legitimate nation. If successful, the Palestinians will undoubtedly move to claim the West Bank as their homeland and Jerusalem as their capital.
This would be catastrophic for the nation of Israel!
It has long been the stated policy of Israel's enemies to destroy God's chosen people and wipe the Jewish state off the map.
Terrorists and dictators surround Israel on every hand. Yet Israel remains a true bastion of democracy, standing alone in the Middle East as the nations of the world gather against her.
I thank God that we witnessed the fulfillment of His word in 1948, when He brought the Jewish people back to their land and the State of Israel was formed.
We know the land of Israel belongs to the Jews as their inheritance, given to them by God in a covenant with their patriarchs: Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.
As the prophet Ezekiel tells us: "I will make them one nation in the land, on the mountains of Israel; and one king shall be king over them all; they shall no longer be two nations, nor shall they ever be divided into two kingdoms again."
Today I am asking you, our dear partners and friends, to pray for Israel. Together, let's ask God for these specific things:
- First, pray that the United Nations will fail in their attempts to divide Israel with the creation of a Palestinian state.
- Next, pray the promise of God that Israel will never be divided into two kingdoms again.
- Pray also that the United States will remain a strong supporter and faithful ally of Israel.
- Finally, pray for the peace of Jerusalem, as God's Word instructs us to do.
Dear friends, God promises to bless those that bless His chosen people, and curse those who curse Israel. Let's join our faith in prayer at this critical hour, blessing Israel and asking God to intervene on her behalf.

Dear Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon,
We oppose the unilateral declaration of a Palestinian State, without negotiations. The legal basis for the establishment of the State of Israel was the resolution unanimously adopted by the League of Nations in 1922, affirming the establishment of a national home for the Jewish People in the historical area of the Land of Israel.
This included the areas of Judea and Samaria and Jerusalem, and close Jewish settlement throughout. This was subsequently affirmed by both houses of the U.S. Congress. Accordingly, the above-noted League of Nations resolution remains valid, and the 650,000 Jews presently residing in the areas of Judea, Samaria and eastern Jerusalem live there legitimately.
"The 1967 borders" do not exist, and have never existed. The 1949 Armistice Agreements entered into by Israel and its Arab neighbors, establishing the Armistice Demarcation Lines, clearly stated that these lines "are without prejudice to future territorial settlements or boundary lines or to claims of either Party relating thereto." Accordingly, they cannot be accepted or declared to be the international boundaries of a Palestinian state.
UN Security Council Resolutions 242 (1967) and 338 (1973) called upon the parties to achieve a just and lasting peace in the Middle East and specifically stressed the need to negotiate in order to achieve "secure and recognized boundaries."
The Palestinians entered into the various agreements constituting what is known as the "Oslo Accords" in the full knowledge that Israel`s settlements existed in the areas, and that settlements would be one of the issues to be negotiated in the permanent status negotiations. Furthermore, the Oslo Accords impose no limitation on Israel`s settlement activity in those areas that the Palestinians agreed would continue to be under Israel`s jurisdiction and control pending the outcome of the permanent status negotiations.
While the Interim Agreement was signed by Israel and the PLO, it was witnessed by the UN together with the EU, the Russian Federation, the U.S., Egypt, and Norway. It is thus inconceivable that such witnesses, including first and foremost the UN, would now give license to a measure in the UN aimed at violating this agreement and undermining major resolutions of the Security Council.
It is inconceivable that the UN would now recognize a unilaterally declared Palestinian state, the borders of which would include eastern Jerusalem. This would represent the ultimate in hypocrisy, double standards, and discrimination, as well as an utter disregard of the rights of Israel and the Jewish People.
Such unilateral action by the Palestinians could give rise to reciprocal initiatives in the Israeli Parliament (Knesset) which could include proposed legislation to declare Israel`s sovereignty over extensive parts of Judea and Samaria, if and when the Palestinians carry out their unilateral action.

Shofar Flash Mob

A flash mob is a weird American cultural phenomenon: On a given day and time, people are asked--usually by a notice online, or a forwarded email--to show up in a specific place and perform a task, just for fun. Sometimes, everyone will be dressed as Santa Claus; other times, a song will blast out and people will spontaneously start square-dancing, or doing the Electric Slide.
A new flash mob solicit is being circulated online, calling for people to coordinate and assemble in different cities around the world. This time, people are being asked to bring a shofar.
On September 18, at public spaces in various cities, people will show up and take out their ritual ram's horns--traditionally blown throughout the Jewish month of Elul as a way to inspire introspection--and blow. The event is the brainchild of a group called Art Kibbutz. So far, confirmed locations include Budapest, Tel Aviv, and New York City.
The sound of the shofar is supposed to interrupt our mind and daily activities; to warn us of the coming of the High Holidays, and to remind us to repent. It's both scary and joyous--and there's nothing to remind you of both sensations like participating in a flash mob.
