"Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigns." (Rev. 19:6)
The Daily Brief
1. Federal Judge Allows Suit Against Health Care Law to Proceed - Fox News
Multi-state lawsuit against the federal health care law will go forward, after a federal judge in Florida rejects the Obama administration's request to dismiss the case.
- Tonight we offer praise to the Lord that this case will yet be heard in our judicial system. Pray that justice be served, and that every feature of the Obamacare health plan that is not in the will of God be rejected and thrown out, for good.
- "And I saw something like a sea of glass mingled with fire and those who have the victory over the beast, over his image and over his mark and over the number of his name, standing on the sea of glass, having harps of God. (Rev. 15:2)
2. Obama: Republicans Will Have to Learn to Get Along With Me - Fox News
Obama reveals in a magazine article that he is weighing what to do if Republicans win the House majority next month, and has come up with a novel approach: Make the GOP work with him.
- It is when we are forced to work with others with whom we disagree, that character is formed. Pray that Obama will accept this responsibility as one of character-building rather than as an excuse to whine.
- "I will punish the world for the evil, And the wicked for their iniquity; I will halt the arrogance of the proud, And will lay low the haughtiness of the terrible." (Is. 13:11)
3. Foreclosures hit post-bust peak in third quarter - MSNBC
Lenders seized more U.S. homes this summer than in any three-month stretch since the housing market began to bust in 2006. But many of the foreclosures may be challenged in court later because of allegations that banks evicted people without reading the documents.
- Offer praise that these allegations are coming to light. Pray that justice is served, and for mercy to - be granted to those homeowners who have been wronged.
- "For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil." (Ecclesiastes 12:14)
4. No increase in Social Security benefits for second year - USA Today
For the second consecutive year, more than 58 million retired and disabled Social Security beneficiaries won't get a raise.
As expected, the Social Security Administration announced Friday that beneficiaries won't get a cost of living allowance (COLA) in 2011. Social Security made the announcement after the government reported that the consumer price index rose just 0.1% in September.
- One senior who was interviewed on the news this evening made a very good point: why does the federal government have huge funds to give to banks, but none to give to the people? In this season of judgment, offer praise that this situation, too, will be corrected by the hand of God.
- "Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you cleanse the outside of the cup and dish, but inside they are full of extortion and self-indulgence." (Matt. 23:25)
5. U.S. is currency war's "tomb maker": China economist - Reuters
The United States fired the first shot in the currency war and the rest of the world must be on guard for its deliberate strategy to devalue the dollar, a Chinese economist said in an official newspaper on Thursday.
- God, cut off the whirlwind affects of the hidden groups that wield a destructive hand over the compilation of a New World monetary system. They work to capsize our financial security to bring our country under an anti-Christ spirit. Raise up Your hand, O God, that their efforts run amuck and fail until Your predestined time. In Jesus Name.
- "For the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows." (I Tim. 6:10)
6. NATO Chief Calls for Anti-Missile System - ABC News
NATO allies are moving toward approving an anti-missile system that would protect Europe, the alliance's secretary general said on Thursday, adding that he hoped Russia would join in creating such a shield.
- Pray that this alliance will come together according to the perfect will of God who, after all, is our true source of protection.
- "God is our refuge and our strength, A very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, Even though the earth be removed, And the mountains be carried into the mist of the sea; Though its waters roar and be troubled, Though the mountains shake with its swelling. Selah" (Ps. 46 v 1-3)
7. Top American Islamic Cleric Threatens U.S. on Egyptian TV - Act for America
Islamic cleric Salah Sultan appeared on Egypt's Al-Nas TV last week and delivered a warning of death and destruction for America. Not only did he attack the U.S. for its military support of Israel in its fight against the Hamas terrorist organization, but he vowed retaliation such that more Americans would be killed than those Palestinians (and, presumably, Hamas terrorists) killed in the present conflict in Gaza, emphasizing that this would take place "soon":
This harangue would be nothing new on television in the Islamic world; in fact, it is commonplace. What is unique about Sultan's threats against America is that he holds U.S. permanent residency status and, according to one federal law enforcement official, travels regularly on a U.S. passport. Read more.
- Ask God to forgive this imam, and to cancel the fruit of his words. Amen.
-"Oh let the wickedness of the wicked come to an end, but establish thou the righteous: for the righteous God trieth the hearts and reins." (Psalm 7:9)
8. Miner Miracle: Daddy's Back! - The Sun UK
The first Chilean miner to be freed hugged his little son for the first time in 69 days after he was dramatically released from his underground hell today. The 31-year-old miner was met by the overwhelmed lad who broke down with excitement as his dad, wearing dark glasses to protect his eyes, bent down to embrace him.
[Nlote: There is a GLORIOUS photo of this little boy, weeping as he sees his father for the first time in 69 days, but we cannot post it due to copyright restrictions. We encourage you to go here to read more.]
- Like this precious little boy, we all yearn for the time that we, too, shall see our Father, face to face!
- "I will never leave you nor forsake you." (Hebrews 13:5)
9. "Islam on the Hill" Sees Minimal Turnout - CHPP
For the second year in a row, organizers of this event did not see the numbers expected. Instead of the 100,000 participants that were advertised today, a mere couple of hundred Moslems actually turned out for this event.
- Offer a prayer for the 200 that did show up on the West Lawn of the Capitol today, for they surely need to know our Savior. Cover the words of their mouths, chanted from the Koran, with the Blood of the Lamb, canceling their effect.
- "Devise your strategy, but it will be thwarted; propose your plan, but it will not stand, for God is with us." (Isaiah 8:10)
10. Michelle Obama: "There Are Prayer Circles Out There" - Real Clear Politics
"It means all the world to us to know that there are prayer circles out there and people who are keeping the spirits clean around us," First Lady Michelle Obama said on the "Tom Joyner Morning Show" today. Read more.
- There are, of course, many kinds of prayer, and not all kinds are pleasing to our Lord. Pray over these prayer circles, covering them, too, with the Blood of the Lamb. As we pray "FOR" all in authority, may our prayers be only righteous ones. Pray!
- "And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death." (Rev. 12:11)

US State Department spokesman P.J. Crowley responded on Wednesday night to senior PLO official, Yasser Abed Rabbo's, proposal that the US administration and Israeli government recognize the pre-1967 lines as the borders of a future Palestinian state, saying that it "represents the interest in the parties in continuing this effort."

China emerging as end time powerhouse with US in crosshairs
Americans better take a long hard look at China. Private estimates by MIT indicate that China holds up to $2.4 trillion of US debt, twice as much as estimated by the federal government. If China called its debt, the US would face untenable economic choices. Meantime, China is becoming more and more aggressive against the US in various foreign policy venues. For example, China is entering the Middle East as a major player. DEBKAfile reports that Turkey, Iran and Syria are participating together in a military intelligence alliance that is held together by China. In fact, China replaced the US and Israel as a participant in the Turkey Air Force's annual exercise this year with Chinese warplanes in the skies.
Moreover, the Chinese planes refueled on their way to Turkey at the Gayem al-Mohammad air base in central Iran. It is reported that the planes' crews were welcomed by the Iranian air force commander. China has been a known technology partner in building Iranian missile systems as well as the Iranian nuclear program. The refueling of Chinese warplanes, however, was reported as surprising to the politicians in Washington, DC. China is also in the shadows of Pakistan's nuclear program. The Administration is upset by Chinese plans to build two nuclear reactors in Pakistan, bypassing international rules that bar the sale of nuclear equipment to states not participating in the Nuclear non-Proliferation Treaty.
In addition, no-friend to the US, George Soros, is warning that a global "currency war" pitting China versus the rest of the world could lead to the collapse of the world economy. Soros told BBC Radio 4's Today program that China had a "huge advantage" over international competitors because it can control the value of its currency. He said China could also influence the value of other world currencies because they have a "chronic trade surplus", which means the Chinese have a lot of foreign currencies. He said, "They control not only their own currency but actually the entire global currency system." Indeed, China warned that the US should not blame China for its economic problems from a weak dollar.
The current US president said in a recent assessment of Chinese military strength that "[the U.S.-China] relationship has not been without disagreement and difficulty. But the notion that we must be adversaries is not pre-destined." While it may not be pre-destined, it may be inevitable. China holds trillions of dollars of US debt, has funded its military on a $200 billion plus a year trade deficit with the US, manipulates its currency, and assists all the enemies of America, including terrorists. This is not accounting for the millions of forced abortions, human rights violations and religious persecution perpetrated by China. Proverbs 27:6 says, "Faithful are the wounds of a friend; but the kisses of an enemy are deceitful." Do not be deceived.

Ras Robinson: Repent for Your Nation
You must repent for your nation. Your leaders have committed grave sins. Millions of unborn babies have been destroyed. Pride and arrogance are not pleasing to Me. Examine yourself as well and see if there is need on your part to repent. Staying humble, pray for your leaders and for one another. I am not a God of stone or other natural substance so that I cannot change My mind. I am your living God. It gives me no pleasure to discipline a nation. But it is better that the discipline come than for My judgment to fall upon the nation. I say unto you, fall to your knees, for it is true that a nation can be birthed in a day. It is also true that a nation can be destroyed in a day.
Luke 17:4 (NASB) "And if he sins against you seven times a day, and returns to you seven times, saying, 'I repent,' forgive him."

The Message of the Chilean Miner
by Francis Frangipane
Lots to celebrate with the rescue of the Chilean miners (CBN News). These tough men emerged from their deep pit praising Jesus Christ. Cameras from around the world brought us scenes of crying men, many kneeling, praying and thanking God. There is a message in all this: no matter how deep or dark the pit, if you call on Christ He will find you and set you free.
Today, many are trapped in darkness; many feel they are alone and that their world has caved in upon them. Beloved, call upon the Lord, for all who call upon Him will be saved.
These miners had written on the back of their jackets Psalm 95:4, "In whose hand are the depths of the earth." His hand reaches into the depths of the earth; He can reach also to you. He hasn't come to condemn the world, but to save the world. He hasn't come to accuse the imprisoned, but to set the captive free.
So, let the message being broadcast from Chile resound in your heart. If you or a loved one is trapped in depression; if sin or fear or a deep darkness has you feeling utterly alone, call upon the Lord. For Jesus Christ has come to set you free.
"Lord, forgive me for doubting. I lift up my eyes. I turn my heart toward You. Help me Lord, bring me up out of this trial. Lord strengthen those praying for loved ones who are trapped in a pit. Help renew their faith that, together, we might all give You praise for Your great love and deliverance."

God in the Circumstances
If you followed the situation in Chile, you know that God can take a total disaster and bring His Glory in it. 33 men were trapped in a mine nearly a half a mile in the earth. The first 17 days no one knew if they were alive, and everyone feared the worst. THEY feared the worst and faced certain death from lack of food and safe air. Fights broke out as they struggled to contain their emotions, and grab what little faith they could find. And then a drill broke through: they had been found! 69 days after the rocks roared down on top of them, the men were lifted to the surface and freedom. We now learn of the struggle to find faith, of the prayers in the darkness, of the hope that only Jesus could have given. We can see God in the situation.
Darkness, bad circumstances, fear and trepidation fall upon us all at some point in our lives. But the Lord gives all of us the promise of His Presence in the midst of our troubles. Like the men in the mine, if we will hang on to Him tightly, He will see to it that we are lifted to the light. He will never fail us, never leave us, and if we will expect His Presence we will find Him. Today's word reminds us that no matter what people say, no matter what it looks like, God is with us. And we can see Him even in our darkest hour.

Chilean Miners Glorify God with their T-Shirts!
Just a quick update on the situation of the Chilean miners. They are being brought to the surface one by one all day today after 66 days trapped underground. If you have watched the news, most of them are wearing a t-shirt with the logo from the Chilean flag. The t-shirts were a gift from Campus Crusade for Christ Chile. Over the last couple of weeks, they received MP3 players with the audio version of the JESUS Film and the Bible in audio format. Here is the note from our national director, Christian Maureira, which I received this morning:
Probably you are watching on TV the rescue of the miners and also maybe you noticed a T Shirt they are wearing. All those T Shirts are a gift from Campus Crusade for Christ Chile. In the front you can read "Gracias Señor, Thank You Lord" and on the back; the Psalm 95:4 "Porque en su mano están las profundidades de la tierra, y las alturas de los montes son suyas" "In his hand are the depths of the earth; the heights of the mountains are his also".
Also, on one sleeve we put The Jesus Film Project image, and on the other sleeve Cruzada Estudiantil y Profesional para Cristo image.
The idea was to glorify our Lord with all this and also to express our love and concern for them by giving them the Jesus Film and the Bible in audio through the MP3s.
They received many gifts but they decided to wear our T Shirts and we praise God for this.
I am writing you in order you can be informed because the Chilean TV says that 1,000,000,000 of people in this moment are watching the rescue.
Blessings from Chile,
Jesus is my inspiration.
Christian Maureira
We are thankful that the men are being brought out safely and that they have chosen to glorify God in their rescue!

On Chile: Two Commentaries
