The Western powers are unable to act against Iran, President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said Friday morning, the day after the end of a deadline set by the UN Security Council to halt its nuclear program.

The United States ambassador in Baghdad said he and his Iranian counterpart agreed broadly on policy toward Iraq during four-hour groundbreaking talks on Monday, but insisted that Iran end its support for militants.

The U.S. intelligence community has determined that Iran was preparing to use its huge missile arsenal in any attack on American allies in the Gulf. Officials said the mullah regime in Iran has sought to intimidate Gulf Cooperation Council states with Teheran's ballistic missile arsenal. They said Iran views its missiles as the primary element in power projection.
