Dorian's Aftermath

Dorian's Aftermath:

A Look Back over Last Week --

Continued prayer needed

1. Hurricane Dorian bearing down on Nova Scotia, Canada, after bringing tropical storm winds to coast of Maine - Sun Sentinel

Hurricane Dorian brushed past the New England states [on] Saturday afternoon.

The leading edge of hurricane force winds were being felt in parts of eastern Nova Scotia.

"On the forecast track, the center of Dorian is expected to move across central or eastern Nova Scotia this afternoon or this evening, pass near or over Prince Edward Island tonight, and then move near or over portions of Newfoundland and Labrador on Sunday," the National Hurricane Center said at 2 p.m. Saturday. 2. Hundreds stranded on Outer Banks island, 'catastrophic' flooding as Hurricane Dorian moves off coast - NBC News

Helicopters airlifted food and water to stranded residents of a North Carolina Outer Banks island Friday after it suffered "catastrophic flooding" as Hurricane Dorian swept up the coast, the governor said.

"The wall of water just came rushing through the island from the sound side. And it just started looking like a bathtub, very quickly," Steve Harris, who has lived on the island for most of the last 19 years, told The Associated Press.

"We went from almost no water to 4 to 6 feet in a matter of minutes," Harris said. (Read more)

3. Hurricane Dorian passing off Outer Banks; flash flooding a major concern for Hampton Roads - Pilotonline.com

As of noon, the eye of Hurricane Dorian was moving over the North Carolina coast and Hampton Roads was feeling the storm, with rain, strong gusts and widespread flash-flood warnings.

About 43,000 Dominion Energy customers in the region were without power. The eastbound tube of the Midtown Tunnel was closed due to potential storm impacts. The Virginia Beach Fire Department reported a wind gust of 53 mph in Sandbridge just after noon.

The storm was located 70 miles northeast of Cape Hatteras, moving 17 miles per hour with 90 mph winds. (Read more)

Friday, September 6, 2019

By early Friday morning, Dorian was downgraded to a Category 1 hurricane with maximum sustained winds of 90 mph. Mid-morning on Friday, the National Hurricane center declared that Dorian made its first official landfall in the United States on Cape Hatteras.

The western part of Dorian's eyewall brushed Cape Lookout, North Carolina, early Friday morning but an official landfall was not declared.

The immediate coast of North Carolina can expect hurricane conditions with gusts at or above 74 mph, coastal flooding with a storm surge of 4-7 feet, torrential rainfall average 6-12 inches with an AccuWeather Local StormMax of 15 inches into the afternoon on Friday. (Read more)

5. Hurricane Dorian Updates: Field Hospital, Water Filters, Shelter Plastic Sent to the Bahamas - Samaritan's Purse

Samaritan's Purse is mounting a significant response in the Bahamas.

Update (10:47 a.m., Sept. 7): Samaritan's Purse made its first airlift of the Emergency Field Hospital to the Bahamas on Sept. 5, at the request of the World Health Organization and the government of the Bahamas. A second DC-8 airlift of hospital components (our third total relief flight) was sent on Sept. 6.

A large team of medical specialists, including doctors and nurses, and other experts were on the Sept. 5-6 flights to help set up the mobile hospital.

The 40-bed facility will have an outpatient department and emergency room, equipped to serve up to 100 patients a day. There will be an operating room-with capacity for 10 surgeries per day-and an obstetrics ward with delivery room.

On Sept. 4, we sent more than 30 tons of emergency relief to the Bahamas aboard our DC-8 aircraft. More than a dozen disaster response team specialists were also onboard.

In total, Samaritan's Purse now has more than 60 staff members on the ground in the Bahamas. (Read more)

- Father God, we repent that we did not pursue and stand against this monster storm as it made its way up the East Coast. We praise You for the victory we have seen in the State of Florida, where Dorian remained offshore, but we are grieved at the damage it has done in the other states.

We ask for Your Hand to rest now upon all of those who are engaged in rescue and recovery efforts up the Coast and on into Canada. Strengthen their hands, O Lord, to do Your will.

We also continue to cry out for Your mercy to rest upon the Bahamas, and great favor to be with Samaritan's purse, and all others who are now involved in helping the Bahamas to recover from this disaster. We ask this in Jesus' name, amen.

- " . . . their voice was heard, and their prayer came up to his holy dwelling place, even unto heaven." (2 Chron. 30:27b)

3. Tensions in the North Skyrocket: Hezbollah Attacks, Israel Retaliates - Bridges for Peace

Monday, 2 September 2019 | The announcement came late yesterday afternoon. Shortly after 4:00 p.m., Iran's Lebanon-based terror proxy Hezbollah made good on its vows of revenge against the Jewish state, firing three sophisticated Russian-made Kornet anti-tank missiles at an Israel Defense Forces (IDF) base and a nearby military jeep in northern Israel. There were a number of confirmed hits.

The terror group was quick to celebrate the attack, describing it as payback for an Israeli preemptive strike in Syria overnight on August 24 that thwarted a Tehran-initiated plan to bomb northern Israel with armed drones. The Israeli strike killed two Hezbollah terrorists. "At 16:15," the terror group bragged, it "destroyed an Israeli military vehicle near the border, killing and wounding those inside."

The boast proved premature. While Hezbollah commended itself on its successful attempt to murder and maim, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that the terror group had failed. "We have no casualties," he clarified, "not even a scratch." (Read more)

- Seek God's protection on the northern border of Israel and for an end to the tensions that exist there. Cry out to Him that any missiles fired toward Israel would fall to the ground useless or be turned back on those that would destroy God's land and people.

- I will lift up my eyes to the hills-from whence comes my help? My help comes from the LORD, who made heaven and earth. He will not allow your foot to be moved; He who keeps you will not slumber. Behold, He who keeps Israel Shall neither slumber nor sleep. (Psalm 121:1-4)

4. Israel Exposes Hezbollah Plans for a Precision-guided Missile Plant in Lebanon - Bridges for Peace

Wednesday, 4 September 2019 | In the latest episode of the Israel-Hezbollah tensions threatening to turn the Jewish state's northern border into a war zone, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) yesterday revealed that the Iranian terror proxy has been hard at work setting up a factory to produce precision-guided missiles in southern Lebanon.

The army said in a statement accompanied by satellite images that the Lebanon-based terror group-aided by its taskmasters in Tehran-constructed the missile manufacturing facility several years ago. The IDF recently identified activities aimed at upgrading the factory, with Hezbollah-once again aided by its taskmasters in Tehran-bringing in specialized equipment to establish a dedicated assembly line to produce and convert precision-guided weapons.

The IDF did not speculate about Hezbollah's intended use for the state-of-the-art missiles manufactured in the upgraded facility. It didn't have to. The Iranian terror proxy has, after all, made it clear that the annihilation of Israel takes a top spot on it's to do list. (Read more)

- Pray that the Lord will guide Israel in whatever steps need to be taken to insure that the plans for upgrading this guided missile factory never come to fruition. Beseech Him for a swift and permanent end to Hezbollah and the threat they pose to all Israel.

- Deliver me from my enemies, O my God; defend me from those who rise up against me. Deliver me from the workers of iniquity, and save me from bloodthirsty men. (Psalm 59:1-2)

[Prayer offered by BFP]

5. Trump peace plan architect Jason Greenblatt to quit administration - Times Of Israel

US Middle East peace envoy Jason Greenblatt, who has spent the last years attempting to cobble together a long-awaited Israeli-Palestinian peace plan, will step down after the release of the administration's program, the White House announced Thursday. The plan is expected to be released soon after Israeli elections on September 17.

"Jason Greenblatt has decided to return to New Jersey to be with his wife and six children, who throughout the administration have resided in New Jersey," a senior administration official told reporters on a conference call, speaking on condition of anonymity.

6. EXCLUSIVE from Judea: How Obama Aided Illegal Arab Settlements in Israel - The Gateway Pundit

"This whole area was supposed to provide homes for 10.000 Jewish families", says Naomi Linder Kahn of NGO "Regavim", standing on Mt. Scopus outside Jerusalem, pointing at a vast barren expanse stretching toward the Dead Sea along Highway 1. The highway is of critical strategic importance for Israel, since it is the only gap in the ring of Arab areas surrounding the capital of Jerusalem. "The best way to secure territory like this is to settle Jewish families there. But the Obama government intervened and stopped what they call 'illegal settlements', even though this is entirely Israeli territory. So now we have the infamous Road to Nowhere here, which was built but never used."

Linder Kahn recounted how the Obama government, the UN and the EU put pressure on Israel to stop building on territory that was declared under Israeli sovereignty by Yassir Arafat in the Oslo Accords 1995, and how the same international bodies fund illegal Arab settlement to create a de facto state of "Palestine", under the so-called Fayyad Plan, without ever negotiating with the Israelis. "It's basically a hostile act", Linder Kahn said.

8. Israeli jets strike Hamas in Gaza after armed drone attack - Times Of Israel

Israeli jets struck three Hamas targets in the Gaza Strip on Saturday night, the Israeli military said, in retaliation for Palestinian terrorists piloting an armed drone over the border earlier in the day.

The targets, in northern and central Gaza, included an equipment depot for naval warfare, and two "military centers" for Hamas's aerial system, the Israel Defense Forces said.

"The IDF will continue to act against attempts to harm Israeli citizens, and holds the Palestinian terror group Hamas responsible for everything that takes place in the Gaza Strip, and which emanates from there," the military said in a statement.

9. Mosaic near Sea of Galilee may mark new site for Jesus loaves and fishes miracle - Times Of Israel

A mosaic depicting fish, birds and baskets of what may be bread, newly uncovered near the Sea of Galilee, may commemorate the historic location of the miracle recorded in the New Testament in which Jesus miraculously feeds a multitude, according to the lead archaeologist at the site, Haifa University's Dr. Michael Eisenberg.

The colorful mosaic was uncovered in the ongoing Hippos-Sussita Excavation Project at the Sussita National Park's South-West or Burnt Church. The 15-meter by 10-meter mosaic carpet is bursting with fish, birds and 12 baskets filled with fruit, flowers and - arguably - bread. The traditional location of the miracle is across the sea at the Church of the Multiplication of the Loaves and Fish in Tabgha, which houses a famous mosaic depicting two fish on either side of what is thought to be a bread basket.

It is the Sussita church's combination of fish and bread baskets that has led Eisenberg to believe that the mosaic could be a record of the miracle of the multiplication of the loaves and fishes and a clue hinting at a historic location for the feat.

1. Jobs Report Blows Away Recession Fears as Trump Economy Continues to Soar - Breitbart

There are 4.2 million more Americans in the civilian labor force since January 2017, when Donald Trump became President, and there are 1.5 million fewer Americans who are unemployed today. A total 5.7 million more jobs have been created.

More people are working today at 157.8 million than at any time in history. Wages continue to climb, and inflation remains low. The unemployment rate of 3.7 percent marks the fifteenth time in 18 months that the unemployment rate has been below 4 percent. The fact that 8.1 million fewer people are on food assistance than when President Trump took office shows that our nation is heading in the right direction.

Americans are not only working but they are making more money today than they have in the past. The household median income rose to a record $61,372 in 2017, as more Americans are benefiting from wage gains earned. The 2018 number will be reported in October, and given the on-going 3.2 percent year over year increases reported by the Bureau of Labor Statistics, it is obvious that 2018 and 2019 will have been even better years for American's pocketbooks. (Read more)

- Father, Thank You for this good news on jobs, and the U.S. economy. We continue to speak prosperity on our economy and businesses. We praise You, Lord for Your goodness upon us.

- "The blessing of the LORD, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it." (Proverbs 10:22)

2. Christine Blasey Ford's Lawyer: Okay Fine, Protecting Abortion Was Part of Why She Accused Kavanaugh - TownHall

New video has surfaced of leftist activist Debra Katz, the attorney for Christine Blasey-Ford, admitting her client (falsely) accused Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh of sexual misconduct in order to protect abortion and Roe v. Wade.

"In the aftermath of these hearings I believe that Christine's testimony brought about more good than the harm the misogynist Republicans caused by allowing Kavanuagh on the court," Katz said during an event in Baltimore. "He will always have an asterisk next to his name. When he takes a scalpel to Roe v. Wade we will know who he is, we know his character and we know what motivates him. It's important that we know and that's part of what motivated Christine."

After Kavanaugh was confirmed to the Supreme Court, the Senate Judiciary Committee released a 400-page long report. In it, investigators found no evidence that any claims, including the ones brought by Blasey-Ford, were true. (Read more)

- Father, what a dangerous game that was played here by Christine Ford and her lawyer. We pray You lead Christine Ford and her lawyer to repentance for her lies, hypocrisy, and harm she has caused to Justice Kavanaugh and his family.

- " . . . speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their own conscience seared with a hot iron." (1 Timothy 4:2)

3. AG William Barr demands end to nationwide injunctions empowering lone 'sympathetic' judges - Washington Examiner

Attorney General William Barr is calling for an end to nationwide injunctions. He wrote, "[injunctions] create an unfair, one-way system in which the democratically accountable government must fend off case after case to put its policy into effect, while those challenging the policy need only find a single sympathetic judge."

The "best example" of "harm" caused by these national injunctions, Barr said, relates to the legal fight over Trump trying to scrap the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, which offers protections for individuals brought to the U.S. illegally as children, instituted [by Executive Order] under former President Barack Obama. Barr said the use of an injunction sabotaged a chance for political compromise.

"Far from solving the problem, the DACA injunction proved catastrophic," he said. "The program's recipients remain in legal limbo after nearly two years of bitter political division over immigration, including a government shutdown. A humanitarian crisis - including a surge of unaccompanied children - swells at the southern border, while legislative efforts remain frozen pending Supreme Court resolution of the DACA case." (Read more)

- Father, we pray a Supreme Court resolution of the Daca case. Give wisdom and direction on the best course of action for the strengthening of America. We pray favor on President Trump as he tries to resolve this issue.

- "May the favor of the Lord our God rest on us; establish the work of our hands for us- yes, establish the work of our hands." (Psalm 90:17)

4. US Judge Rules Terror Watch List Violates Constitution - CBN News

A federal judge says the terrorism watch list created two years after the September 11, 2001 terror attacks on New York City and Washington, DC, is unconstitutional in its current form. US District Judge Anthony Trenga ruled Wednesday that the database doesn't allow Americans who are on the list the opportunity to challenge their rating as potential terrorism suspects, which violated their constitutional right to due process.

More than 20 Muslim US citizens filed the lawsuit three years ago in a Virginia federal court with the help of the Council on American-Islamic Relations or CAIR. Iit's worth noting, as CBN News has reported over the years, that CAIR was once declared an "unindicted co-conspirator" in America's largest terrorism financing trial a decade ago.

"The Terrorist Screening Database does NOT have millions of Americans in it. It has about 1.2 million people around the world. Only about 4,600 are said to be American citizens or green card holders, in a country of over 300 million people," Ryan Mauro, director of the Clarion Intelligence Network for The Clarion Project told CBN News in an email. (Read more)

- Father, we forgive this judge for the error of his ways. Strengthen our government to combat terrorism on every front. Help us improve our operations and minimize errors concerning this terrorism watch list.

- "Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you." (Deuteronomy 31:6)

5. Tlaib Meets With Members of Terrorism-Supporting, Anti-Israel Organization - FreeBeacon

Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D., Mich.) recently met with a controversial pro-Palestinian organization that has encouraged violence against Israel, justified the use of terrorism against the Jewish state, and has called for the kidnapping of Israeli soldiers, according to online postings on social media.

Tlaib, who has been under fire for her hatred of Israel and support for the anti-Semitic Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions movement was pictured meeting with members of the Palestine Youth Movement during the Arab Texas Festival held recently in Dallas. The PYM organization is known for its vitriolic rhetoric against Israelis and Jews.

Tlaib's recent interaction with the group is just the latest in a string of meetings the lawmaker has held with leading anti-Israel groups and supporters of the BDS movement. (Read more)

- Father, remove Tlaib from her position in Congress. She is not supporting America and its' ally, Israel. Raise an outcry among the people to demand her resignation.

- "But he that hateth his brother is in darkness, and walketh in darkness, and knoweth not whither he goeth, because that darkness hath blinded his eyes." (1 John 2:11)

6. American Airlines Mechanic Accused of Sabotaging Flight - Breitbart

According to a criminal complaint affidavit filed in federal court, Abdul-Majeed Marouf Ahmed Alani admitted during an interview Thursday that he tampered with a navigation system on the plane so that he could collect overtime work.

The plane, with 150 people on board, was scheduled to fly from Miami to Nassau in the Bahamas on July 17. As the pilots powered up the plane at Miami International Airport, they saw an error message for a system that tracks speed, nose direction and other critical flight information and aborted the takeoff.

In a statement, American Airlines said it cooperated fully with the investigation "and we are taking this matter very seriously." The Fort Worth, Texas-based airline said the plane was taken out of service after the July incident and repaired and inspected before it was allowed to fly again. Alani was charged with willfully damaging or disabling an aircraft in Miami. (Read more)

- Father God, we praise You that this man was caught and no harm was done. Thank You, Jesus! Amen!

- "For whatever is hidden is meant to be disclosed, and whatever is concealed is meant to be brought out into the open." (Mark 3:24)

7. ICE arrests dozens of illegal immigrants suspected of violating human rights - Washington Examiner

The U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement arrested 39 people, 30 men and 9 women, suspected of violating human rights. Of those arrested, 16 are suspected of committing a litany of other crimes including domestic violence, selling drugs, and illegally possessing a firearm, according to the agency.

The ICE sting, called Operation No Safe Haven V, took place from Aug. 27 to 29. Those arrested have come from countries including West Africa, Central America, and China. "ICE will not allow war criminals and human rights abusers to use the U.S. as a safe haven," acting ICE Director Matthew Albence said. "We will never stop looking for them and we will never cease seeking justice for the victims of their crimes."

Fourteen immigrants from Central America are implicated in human trafficking crimes. The four immigrants arrested from China worked with the Communist Chinese government to perform forced abortions and sterilizations. Four people originally from West Africa are connected with mass slaughters of civilians, recruiting children to fight as soldiers, and other crimes. One immigrant from Europe has committed abuses against political enemies. (Read more)

- Thank You, Lord, that ICE is doing its job. We pray You continue to cause them to prosper in whatever they put their hand to. In Your name, amen.

- "The LORD will command the blessing upon you in your barns and in all that you put your hand to, and He will bless you in the land which the LORD your God gives you." (Deuteronomy 28:8)

8. China Is Using Fentanyl as 'Chemical Warfare,' Experts Say - Epoch Times

Jeff Nyquist, an author and researcher of Chinese and Russian strategy, said China is using fentanyl as a form of chemical warfare. "It opens up a number of opportunities for the penetration of the country, both in terms of laundering money and in terms of blackmail against those who participate in the trade and become corrupt like law enforcement, intelligence, and government officials."

China also uses the money generated by the importing of fentanyl to effectively "influence political parties," according to Nyquist. "It opens doors for Chinese influence operations, Chinese People's Liberation Army, and intelligence services, so that they can get control of certain parts of the U.S.," he said.

In August, Trump called out Chinese leader Xi Jinping, accusing him of not doing enough to stop the flow of fentanyl, which enters the United States mostly via international mail. "President Xi said this would stop-it didn't," Trump said on Twitter on Aug. 23. (Read more)

- Father God, by faith we place the Blood of the Lamb over this chemical weapon, and we ask Your wisdom to those in authority that these shipments will be stopped. We know we are asking for a miracle in this prayer, Lord God, so we turn to You now in our time of need, amen.

- "The eyes of the LORD are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry." (Psalm 34:15)

9. Mattis says Pakistan is the world's most dangerous country - Business Insider

"Of all the countries I've known, I consider Pakistan to be the most dangerous," former Secretary of Defense Jim Mattis writes in his latest book, "Call Sign Chaos: Learning to Lead." Mattis cites the country's large (and growing) nuclear arsenal, its increasingly radicalized society, and its strategy of viewing "all geopolitics through the prism of its hostility toward India," in his assessment.

Pakistan is home to a number of terror organizations focused on bringing down the Pakistani state and bringing about Sharia law in the country, [making] Pakistan's democracy fragile. [Alarmingly], military and intelligence institutions have allowed militant groups to influence the government's actions.

Pakistan's nuclear program is one of the largest, and fastest-growing in the world. Many are concerned that its tensions with India could escalate into nuclear war or that the cache might fall into the wrong hands. (Read more)

- Lord God, we thank You that our leaders are keeping their eye on Pakistan. We pray that nothing will slip past them that would endanger our nation, and the world. In Your name, amen.

- For thus has the Lord said to me: "Go, set a watchman, Let him declare what he sees." (Isaiah 21:6)

10. 'Act of war': Mattis says Obama's inept response to Cafe Milano bomb plot 'emboldened' Iran - Washington Examiner

Former Defense Secretary Jim Mattis says he predicted years ago that Iran would escalate its provocations against the United States - and he partly blames the Obama administration's anemic reaction to an Iranian plot to bomb a restaurant in Washington, D.C.

As Mattis writes, "Attorney General Eric Holder said the bombing plot was 'directed and approved by elements of the Iranian government and, specifically, senior members of the Qods Force. I saw the intelligence: we had recorded Tehran's approval of the operation." "Had the bomb gone off, it would have been the worst attack on us since 9/11. I sensed that only Iran's impression of America's impotence could have led them to risk such an act within a couple of miles of the White House," he writes." Mattis says his reaction to the Cafe Milano bomb plot contributed towards Obama's decision to fire him abruptly. (Read more)

- Father God, once again, we ask You to forgive Barack Hussein Obama for this wicked decision -- one that has empowered our enemy. We ask wisdom for the current administration as they seek to repair this damage, in Your name, amen.

- "I will repay you for the years the locusts have eaten . . ." (Joel 2:25a)

11. Mark Sanford announces Trump primary challenge: GOP 'has lost our way' - Fox News

Former South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford announced Sunday that he is running for president as a Republican, becoming the latest to challenge President Trump in the GOP primaries. Sanford said the Republican Party is facing an identity crisis, and he wants the GOP to take a look at itself and do some soul searching.

"I think we have to have a conversation about what it means to be a Republican," Sanford told "Fox News Sunday," claiming the party "has lost our way."

Sanford is now the third Republican to announce a run against Trump in the primaries, with former Massachusetts Gov. Bill Weld and former Illinois Rep. Joe Walsh previously announcing their campaigns. After Weld and Walsh stated they were running against Trump, Politico reported that the Republican parties of Arizona, Kansas, Nevada and South Carolina were looking to scrap their primaries and caucuses.

Earlier this summer, when Sanford was still deciding whether to run, he admitted, "I don't think anybody's going to beat Donald Trump."(Read more)

- Lord God, we agree with Sanford's last statement: No one will be able to beat Donald Trump. We ask You to forgive him and the others who are now running against our President, but this will only weaken our cause. Have mercy, O Lord, we pray, amen.

- "If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand." (Mark 3:24)

Of conviction and irrelevance

Editor's note:

We are running the Jot from last Thursday so we can all "keep pace" with everything that Bill Wilson is bringing to us now. Thank you.

The Daily Jot series on grieving in the spirit, followed by the Democratic National Committee's (DNC) resolution saying that the religiously unaffiliated (nonreligious) "overwhelmingly share the Democratic Party's values" have made a lot of people uncomfortable. These Jots cause discomfort because they stir the spirit, which in turn, is convicting. Maybe readers can't pinpoint exactly why they are convicted, but they are moved in a conflicting way. Let's drill down on this a little. Christians in America are now "officially" under attack from the Democratic Party, which in its resolution directly blames the religious for threatening the civil rights of homosexuals, women, Muslims, and ethnic minorities.

Over the last several years, the Democratic Party and those of the political left have become increasingly aggressive at labeling anyone who disagrees with them as bigots, racists, homophobes, Islamaphobes, xenophobes, misogynists and so on. Now the DNC has become so bold as to adopt this as official policy and claim that those with Christian religious values are, indeed, the ones who threaten the civil rights of Americans. In justification, the DNC cited statistics saying, " the religiously unaffiliated demographic has tripled in the last two decades, now representing 25% of the overall American population and 35% of those under the age of 30." So why are these things so grievous to our spirits?

There can be a whole lot of finger pointing, and a whole lot of using Bible verses out of context to say that this is just the way its going to be in the end times. But, every generation since the resurrection of Christ has thought they were living in those times. There is more to it than that. When you couple the DNC's statistics with the trend in America, they match very well and point to dark times ahead. For example, a Harris poll taken in February indicated that Millennials and Generation Z are more likely to embrace socialistic policies and principles than past generations. The poll, given exclusively to Axios, cites that 73% agreed that government should provide universal health care; 67% agreed that the government should provide tuition-free college; and nearly half, 49.6%, said they would prefer living in a socialist country.

Recent polls indicate that only about 18% of the Millennial generation find that Christianity is relevant. This grieving in the spirit is the conviction that the "church" has become irrelevant. You can see it in the present generation's views AND by the fact that a major political party has publicly stated that the nonreligious overwhelmingly share its values, AND it blames the "church" for threatening the civil rights of others. I am convicted that the man-made doctrinal church of today is mostly irrelevant. Look at the results. Christians are commanded to make disciples, yet have not held even the family structure. 1 Peter 4:17 says, "For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God; and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?" You see, it starts with us. Things need to change.

Have a Blessed and Powerful Day!

Will Jerusalem Be Divided?

Confidential Details of Trump's 'Deal of the Century' Leaked

A note from the editor:

The article quoted below was featured today on Breaking Israel news, citing an Arabic source for this report. For that reason, we are sending this to you today with a word of caution. . . Hopefully and prayerfully, in time, this rumor will prove to be FALSE.

We ask all of our readers to please pray in the Spirit over the report that follows. Thank you.

According to Al-Hayat, a pan-Arab newspaper, former defense minister Avigdor Liberman (Yisrael Beitenu) met with Palestinian Authority officials and revealed details of Trump's peace plan reports Channel 20.

The report notes that Liberman revealed the details shortly before resigning from his post. Liberman denies the report. According to the PA officials with whom Liberman reportedly met, revealed that the plan includes the establishment of a full Palestinian state in Gaza.

Liberman also reportedly told them that the deal would give them control over Area A as well as smaller sections of B and even Area C. The accord does not involve the evacuation of any Jewish presence in Judea and Samaria. The report also states that the deal will ensure that Israel maintains full authority over all border crossings.

The deal also ensures Israeli control over most of Jerusalem and that the IDF maintains its presence in the Jordan Valley.

Sources close to Liberman said that the "former Defense Minister and Yisrael Beitenu party head MK Avigdor Liberman didn't see the plan and as far as he knows, the Americans didn't reveal the details to any Israeli and are not even sure that it's complete. Therefore, the report is simply inaccurate."

The architect of Trump's Deal of the Century, Jason Greenblatt has announced that he is resigning from his post as the US president's chief Israel advisor. The position will be filled by Avi Berkowitz, a long-time associate of Trump's son-in-law, Jared Kushner. Berkowitz, a New York native, met Kushner while on vacation in Arizona. Berkowitz spent two years in Israel studying at a Jewish seminary in Jerusalem. He reportedly played a key role in the administration's decision to move the US embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. Classic Hymns

I NEED THEE EVERY HOUR

"Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need." (Hebrews 4:16)

Lyrics

I need Thee every hour, most gracious Lord;
No tender voice like Thine can peace afford.

Refrain

I need Thee, O I need Thee;
Every hour I need Thee;
O bless me now, my Savior,
I come to Thee.

I need Thee every hour, stay Thou nearby;
Temptations lose their power when Thou art nigh.

Refrain

I need Thee every hour, in joy or pain;
Come quickly and abide, or life is vain.

Refrain

I need Thee every hour; teach me Thy will;
And Thy rich promises in me fulfill.

Refrain

I need Thee every hour, most Holy One;
O make me Thine indeed, Thou blessèd Son.

About the Hymn:

One day as a young wife and mother of 37 years of age, I was busy with my regular household tasks. Suddenly, I became so filled with the sense of nearness to the Master that, wondering how one could live without Him, either in joy or pain, these words, "I Need Thee Every Hour," were ushered into my mind, the thought at once taking full possession of me . . .

I did not understand at first why this hymn had touched the great throbbing heart of humanity. It was not until long after, when the shadow fell over my way, the shadow of a great loss, that I understood something of the comforting power in the words which I had been permitted to give out to others in my hour of sweet serenity and peace.

Not Just Dorian: Here's What Else We're Watching in the Atlantic

True to form for September, there are three systems in the Atlantic plus Dorian. Gabrielle is intensifying in the central Atlantic. We're also watching two disturbances crossing the Atlantic.

Here's a rundown of each system. Click the link below for an interactive radar with forecast paths for each of the active named storms we'll mention.
This sounds like a lot of activity at once, but it's fairly normal for this time of year. As Neal Dorst of NOAA's Hurricane Research Division points out, September is a peak month not only in the Atlantic Basin, but is also part of a broad peak of activity in the Eastern Pacific and Western Pacific basins of the Northern Hemisphere. Tropical storms and hurricanes often form closer to home in October and November.

'We Rejoice In the Lord's Blessings to Our Family':

Boy Who Was Thrown Off Mall of America Balcony Finally Returns Home

[ChristianHeadlines.com] Nearly five months after being thrown off a third-floor balcony at the Mall of America in Minnesota, 5-year-old Landen Hoffman is finally home.

The wonderful news was shared by the youngster's family on a GoFundMe page dedicated to raising funds to help aid his recovery. After Hoffman was thrown some 40 feet from a balcony back in April, medics were convinced that he would suffer from life-long brain damage as a result.

"We continue to ask that His healing powers guide us and our son's care team as we enter the next phase of recovery, which includes continued outpatient rehabilitation for multiple injuries and adjusting to life back at home and school." -from GoFundMe page

About CHPP

About Capitol Hill Prayer Partners

Our Mission Statement

Capitol Hill Prayer Partners (CHPP) is a ministry which is positioned on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., helping members of the Body of Christ to "pray for those in authority over us" in our federal government. Our primary purpose is to offer intercession on site for the members of Congress and their staffs each day that the Senate and the House of Representatives are in session; and our chief prayer focus is that "God's will be done in earth, as it is in heaven." [Matthew 6:10].

Because Jesus Christ has shed His blood for all, we, too, pray for ALL, in a nonpartisan manner. Also, because the scriptures indicate that "the effectual, fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much" (James 4:17), we are confident that fervent prayer, offered in the halls of the highest chambers of government in our land, can avail much for America. Capitol Hill Prayer Partners welcomes those who feel called to join us, engaging in this strategic work of intercession for our nation: "For there is no power but of God; the powers that be are ordained of God." [Romans 13:1]
