A Message from President Trump

President Trump's message on Hurricane Dorian

As Hurricane Dorian affects America's southeast coast this week, President Donald J. Trump is making the safety of all residents in its path his Administration's top priority.

"The safety of the American people must always come first," the President said this weekend. "My staff and I receive frequent updates to ensure that we are fully prepared. And we are fully prepared."

At FEMA headquarters on Sunday, Acting FEMA Administrator Pete Gaynor briefed President Trump on the approaching storm and its anticipated impact. Meetings such as these ensure that Federal officials-including the President himself-are working in close coordination with local authorities in Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, and North Carolina.

President Trump also emphasized the importance of residents heeding warnings from state and local leaders to prepare and evacuate as needed.

All told, a team of 4,000 strong is assisting in hurricane response efforts. These professionals and volunteers span 27 Federal departments and agencies, the Red Cross, and the National Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster. Even with all these helping hands, nothing is more important for saving lives than taking precautions in advance.

"Don't tough it out. Get out," Acting FEMA Administrator Gaynor says. "Make the smart choice today, because the clock is ticking."

Life-threatening storm surge and high winds are expected from Florida up to the Carolinas over the next few days. Even if there is no direct landfall, Hurricane Dorian is likely to cause significant damage along the East Coast. These effects could be felt hundreds of miles-or more-from the center of the storm.

To Americans in these areas: Please stay safe and be prepared to evacuate if you haven't already. Fill the gas tank, know the evacuation zones and routes, and stock your vehicle with enough emergency supplies to last at least several days.

"Americans are strong, determined, and resilient, and we will support each other. And we will work very hard to minimize whatever the effect of what's coming at us," President Trump said.

President Trump: "I ask everyone in Hurricane Dorian's path to heed all warnings."

2. IDF reveals evidence of Hezbollah 'precision missile factory' - World Israel News

On Tuesday evening, the Israeli military posted to twitter images of a Hezbollah compound it says the terror group is using to pursue Iran's campaign to wipe out the Jewish state.

"We can now reveal that inside this Hezbollah facility is Iranian-supplied machinery used to manufacture precision guided missiles with an accuracy of less than 10 meters," tweeted the IDF.

The facility appears to be located near Nabi Chit, Lebanon, less than 100 kilometers from the Israeli border.

The IDF added, "Iran is trying to turn its proxy Hezbollah into the first terror group in the world with precision guided missiles. We won't let them."

3. Shaked: Israel must launch massive military operation in the Gaza Strip - JNS

(September 3, 2019 / JNS) Israel must undertake a large-scale military operation in the Gaza Strip, Yamina Party leader Ayelet Shaked said on Monday.

Speaking at an election event in Beit Shemesh, the former justice minister told the audience that Israel should not be tolerating the missiles, and incendiary kites and balloons, being launched from Gaza or the violent weekly Friday demonstrations along the Gaza border.

"We must choose the time that is best for us, evacuate the Israeli citizens who live in towns along the Gaza [border] to give us maximum flexibility, and we must uproot the terror from within Gaza," she said.

4. Palestinian Authority prepares action plan to extend authority to Area C - Jerusalem Post

The Palestinian Authority plans to promote and authorize Palestinian building in Area C of the West Bank, which is under the Israeli military and civilian control.

All Palestinian building in Area C is regulated by Israel's Civil Administration. Right-wing politicians and the right-wing NGO Regavim have long argued that the PA was attempting to silently take over Area C of the West Bank where all Israeli settlements are located.

The 1993 Oslo Accords divided the West Bank into three geographical regions, placing Areas A and B under the auspices of the Palestinian Authority.

"We will set free the hands of people in Area C and see how many housing units will be built. We will not stand by watching while the occupation robs us of our land, builds settlements, and redefines land concepts sometimes as disputed, other times as under Israeli law, and then annexed," the Minister of Local Government, Ahmad Ghoneim told WAFA, the news agency of the PA.

5. Yair Lapid: I will be Prime Minister - Israel National News

MK Yair Lapid (Blue and White), a candidate for Prime Minister as part of a rotation with Benny Gantz, rejects the allegations of disagreements at the top of the party and hopes to form a government with the Likud after the election - but without Binyamin Netanyahu.

In an interview with Yehuda Shlezinger of the Israel Hayom newspaper, Lapid commented on the leaks from the Blue and White election campaign headquarters and said that "there was no mole. It's all a spin. There was an information security check, which is important."

Responding to Gantz's hiring of an investigative company at a cost of half a million shekels without his knowledge, Lapid said, "We sat together and told him, 'Benny, take care of the leaks.' That's his job, that's what needs to be done. That's fine with me."

The Daily Brief

1. Graham urges Barr to declassify nine sets of documents from Horowitz FISA investigation - Washington Examiner

Senate Judiciary Chairman Lindsey Graham wants Attorney General William Barr to declassify nine sets of documents from Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz's upcoming report on potential abuse of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act.

"In order for the Inspector General to be able to present the most complete results of his investigation to Congress and the American people, certain documents will need to be declassified and released to the public," Graham wrote in a newly released letter. Graham's letter, made public today, told Barr that as much as possible should be declassified "to provide a complete picture of what went on."

The report on Horowitz's investigation of alleged FISA abuse, which started more than a year ago, is expected in September or early October. The DOJ watchdog's report harshly criticizing FBI Director James Comey over the mishandling of his memos was released last week. (Read more)

- Father, we pray all this information will be provided to the American people, exposing those who have done wrong and bring them to justice.

- I said to myself, "God will bring into judgment both the righteous and the wicked, for there will be a time for every activity, a time to judge every deed." (Ecclesiastes 3:17)

2. Trump admin weighs letting states, cities deny entry to refugees approved for resettlement in U.S. - NBC

The Trump administration is considering a new policy that would allow state and local jurisdictions to deny entry to refugees who have been approved for resettlement in the United States, according to a draft of an executive order obtained by NBC News.

According to the draft, "the federal government will resettle refugees only where both the relevant state and local governments have consented to participate" in the program that allows refugees to resettle. The plans are currently out for review by lawyers and counterparts at various government agencies, a senior DHS official said.

If a state or local jurisdiction does not agree to take in refugees, the federal government will have to find another location, according to the draft. An exception to this rule would be made in the case of resettling spouses or children of refugees already settled. (Read more)

- Lord, we ask that this plan be implemented, and that it would stand a test in the courts. We pray the Your mercy and truth would reign over the refugee situation.

- "His truth shall be your shield and buckler." (Psalm 91:4c)

3. G7 Rejects Abortion Language in Final Communique - C-Fam

G7 leaders of the world's largest economies rejected the recommendation of an advisory panel that abortion language be included among the group's final communiques. This is the second year in row governments have rejected abortion language from the G7 Gender Advisory Council.

The advisory panel issued a call to action demanding that governments guarantee "exercise of sexual and reproductive health and rights, including access to modern contraception and safe abortion information and services." In a more detailed set of recommendations, the council described access to "safe" abortion as "a fundamental right," and praised Canada's laws for having no gestational limits. They cited this as in keeping with World Health Organization recommendations to treat abortion "as any other medical procedure rather than a legal process." (Read more)

- Lord, we thank You that this abortion language was not included in the final communiqué. We pray that Your Spirit will continue to move across these nations, bringing forth Your will instead of the agenda of the enemy.

- "Keep yourself far from a false matter; do not kill the innocent and righteous. For I will not justify the wicked." (Exodus 23:7)

4. Trump says 8,600 US troops will stay after Afghanistan withdrawal - Military Times

President Donald Trump said he plans to withdraw thousands of U.S. forces from Afghanistan, but will keep 8,600 there for the foreseeable future, pending the outcome of U.S. peace talks with the Taliban, which appears to be concluding.

The U.S. has about 14,000 troops in Afghanistan, alongside international troops, to advise and assist Afghan defense forces and to fight extremist groups like the Islamic State and al-Qaida.

Trump said the bulk of these could be withdrawn, but stressed that the U.S. will maintain some kind of troop presence in Afghanistan. "You have to keep a presence," he said, adding that the U.S. would be reducing troops "very substantially." (Read more)

- Father, we pray for Afghanistan, that a move of Your Spirit will cover that nation, bringing the knowledge of Yeshua to a people who have not known You.

- "I was sought by those who did not ask for Me; I was found by those who did not seek Me. I said, 'Here I am, Here I am,' to a nation that was not called by My Name." (Isaiah 65:1)

5. Iran building new classified military base in Syria: intelligence sources- Fox News

Iran has established a new military base in Syria and has plans to house thousands of troops at the location, according to multiple Western intelligence sources. The classified Iranian project, called the Imam Ali compound, was approved by top leadership in Tehran and is being completed by the Iranian al-Quds Forces.

Using a civilian satellite company, Fox News verified the information and obtained images that show a base being constructed on the Syria-Iraq border. Analysts at Image Sat International (ISI) who reviewed the images say that precision-guided missiles could be housed at five different newly constructed buildings that are surrounded by large dirt mounds.

The images also show, in the northwest part of the base, 10 additional storehouses with less external protection, as well as new buildings and missile storage structures. ISI analysts say that construction could be completed over the next few months and the base would be operational shortly after. (Read more)

- Lord, we pray that none of the plans of Iran will come to fruition; that this base will be taken out, never to be viable again.

- "No weapon formed against you shall prosper." (Isaiah 54:17)

6. Census Bureau abruptly ends just-announced partnership with Muslim advocacy group CAIR - Fox News

The Commerce Department on Thursday terminated its just-announced planned partnership with the nation's largest Muslim advocacy group, the Council on American-Islamic Relations, after Fox News' "Tucker Carlson Tonight" asked about the arrangement -- given CAIR's reported ties to the terrorist group Hamas, and its repeated attacks on the president.

"Based on further review, the Census Bureau is no longer partnering with CAIR," the Commerce Department said in a statement to "Tucker."

The plan, according to the group, was to enhance outreach efforts to Muslims using CAIR's network of local offices. The census, conducted once a decade, has been used not only to determine congressional apportionment, but also as a critical planning tool for state, local and federal agencies.(Read more)

- Lord we thank You that this plan was reversed, that they will no longer be working with this group tied to terrorists. We plead Your blood over the Census Bureau that no more deceptions will be allowed.

- "Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler." (Psalm 91:3a)

7. Omar calls for U.N. authority over U.S. border crisis - WND

The United States should bring in the United Nations to handle the border crisis on the U.S.-Mexico border, asserts Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn. "We should do what any other country does by dealing with this situation in a serious way," Omar told her constituents Tuesday during an immigration forum in south Minneapolis.

"So, we have to bring in the United Nations high commissioner on refugees, an agency that has the expertise and the training to handle massive flows of refugees humanely," she said, according to the Daily Wire.

Omar was the target of a complaint filed Wednesday with the Federal Election Commission accusing her of illegally using campaign funds to pay for travel expenses for the Democratic political consultant whose wife accuses him of having an extramarital affair with the Muslim congresswoman. (Read more)

- Lord, we all know that the UN has no jurisdiction within the United States, so even bringing this up is foolish. We bind up the thoughts of this woman, and ask Your Spirit to prevent her from her agenda of evil against America.

- "You, through Your commandments, make me wiser than my enemies; for they are ever with me." (Psalm 119:98)

8. FEC Demands Bernie Account for Whopping 69 Pages of Questionable Donations - Western Journal

Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders' struggle to become the Democratic front-runner in the 2020 presidential election seemingly hit a major speed bump this week, as the Federal Election Commission issued a document with 69 pages of problematic donations to his campaign.

The FEC letter, dated Aug. 28, "requests information essential to full public disclosure" of Sanders' federal election campaign finances. "Failure to adequately respond by the response date noted above could result in an audit or enforcement action," the letter warns.

With an Oct. 2 deadline, Sanders has a little over a month to account for the 69 pages of "apparent excessive, prohibited, and impermissible contributions." Far from the small, grassroots donations that Sanders prides himself on, the document reveals plenty of contributions that exceed $1,000. (Read more)

9. Dems fire back after DHS bars staff from visiting border facilities - Fox News

House Oversight Committee Chairman Elijah Cummings on Thursday fired back after the Department of Homeland Security barred Democratic staff from visiting Customs and Border Protection (CBP) facilities, alleging they were "disruptive" during their last trip.

Cummings, D-Md., penned a letter to Homeland Security Secretary Kevin McAleenan, blasting the agency for its decision to "block" Democratic staff from visiting, claiming the decision was made only after the committee's staff inspections revealed potential issues at the centers.

"I am writing to express my deep concern that the Department of Homeland Security decided to block Committee staff from conducting visits to 11 detention facilities just days after previous staff inspections revealed potentially serious ongoing problems with the treatment of children and adults in DHS custody - including blocking visits to sites where the Inspector General warned about an 'immediate risk to the health and safety of DHS agents and officers, and to those detained,'" Cummings wrote Thursday. (Read more)

- Father, we thank You that this action was taken, even with the problems of backlash. We pray that Your Spirit will bring to light any more problems that cause difficulties for our border security and keep them safe.

- "Do not incline my heart to any evil thing, to practice wicked works with men who work iniquity." (Psalm 141:4)

10. Fire blocked escape for 34 on boat off Southern California coast, investigators say - Fox News

. . . Flames roared through the boat of sleeping scuba divers so quickly that it appears none of the 34 people below deck could escape, authorities said Tuesday. This, as they ended their search without finding anyone who was missing still alive from the Labor Day tragedy off the Southern California coast. (Read more)

- Father, we pray that Your comfort would come to the families of those who have died.

- "Comfort, yes comfort My people!" (Isaiah 40:1)

11. Iranian oil tanker nears coast of Syria as captain refuses to cooperate with delivery, sources say - Fox News

The Adrian Darya 1, the Iranian oil tanker that the U.S. has pursued for several days, is now fewer than 10 nautical miles from the shores of Syria, intelligence sources tell Fox News. The ship, formerly known as the Grace 1, turned off its tracking systems as it sailed toward Syria on Monday afternoon.

By entering Syrian waters, the vessel was defying a commitment to the United Kingdom that allowed its release after it was detained in the Strait of Gibraltar. The ship has been carrying 2.1 million barrels of Iranian crude oil worth around $130 million. (Read more)

- Father, we ask for Your wisdom to prevail in this looming crisis, to defuse this potential flashpoint between the U.S. and Iran. We take authority over the spirits of pride, arrogance and stubbornness in the hearts of the Iranian officials; and we loose humility, calm and peace, in Your Name, amen.

- "Truly I tell you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven." (Matthew 18:18)

Democrats officially become party of the godless

The Democratic National Committee (DNC) passeda resolutionadopting the "religiously unaffiliated" as the largest religious group within the Democratic Party. In a pointed underscore of the dying Church in America, the DNC resolution opened with the following statement: "WHEREAS, the religiously unaffiliated demographic has tripled in the last two decades, now representing 25% of the overall American population and 35% of those under the age of 30;WHEREAS, religiously unaffiliated Americans overwhelmingly share the Democratic Party's values, with 70% voting for Democrats in 2018, 80% supporting same-sex marriage, and 61% saying immigrants make American society stronger; and . . .

For the Democratic Party and for America, this is historic. Democratic leadership has chosen to embrace those who are "not reliant on a religious worldview at all" at the expense of those whose religious beliefs define their "morals, values and patriotism." The DNC states that those who are nonreligious "overwhelmingly share the Democratic Party's values." While not denying God, the party is embracing the godless as more moral and sound than believers. The DNC is admitting that godless values are Democrat's values. Christians who would vote for Democrats, be forewarned: "Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man sows, that shall he also reap.(Galatians 6:7)." Dorian in the News

1. Dorian inches toward US as coastal states gear up - AccuWeather

Coastal regions from Florida to Virginia on Tuesday afternoon remained on the lookout for Hurricane Dorian. With hurricane and storm surge watches and warnings lining the coast, officials are preparing residents for the worst. The first tropical storm force wind gust was recorded along the Treasure Coast of Florida on Tuesday afternoon at a station by the Sebastian Inlet.

In the southeastern U.S., evacuations for more than two million people began on Monday afternoon. Governors from Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina and Virginia all signed state of emergencies and called for mandatory evacuations.

Both the storm surge warning and the storm surge watch were extended farther north, with the warning now reaching South Santee River in South Carolina and the watch now reaching Cape Lookout in North Carolina.

2. Hurricane Dorian downgraded to Category 2 storm, continues its assault on the Bahamas - Fox News

Hurricane Dorian, the monster of a storm that's pummeled parts of the Bahamas for the past 36 hours, has been downgraded to a Category 2 storm as it finally starts to inch away from Grand Bahama -- but the storm is showing signs it's growing before taking aim at the Southeast.

The National Hurricane Center said, as of 11 a.m. EDT, the storm is continuing to produce wind gusts of up to 110 mph and a storm surge of 10-to-15 feet "with higher destructive waves." The storm's current movement is northwest at 2 mph with "dangerous winds and life-threatening" storm surge continuing to impact Grand Bahama Island.

Dorian was located about 45 miles north of Freeport on Grand Bahama Island and about 105 miles east of West Palm Beach, Fla. The hurricane, while losing some wind speed, is growing in size, according to the NHC. Hurricane-force winds now extend outward up to 60 miles from the center, while tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 175 miles.

3. 'Apocalyptic' Aerial Footage from Bahamas Shows Widespread Destruction - Breitbart Hurricane Dorian came to a catastrophic daylong halt over the northwest Bahamas, flooding the islands of Abaco and Grand Bahama with walls of water that lapped into the second floors of buildings, trapped people in attics and drowned the Grand Bahama airport under 6 feet of water. At least five people died and 21 injured people were airlifted to the capital by the U.S. Coast Guard, Bahamas officials said. The storm's punishing winds and muddy brown floodwaters destroyed or severely damaged thousands of homes, crippled hospitals and trapped people in attics.

Speaking to the Associated Press, local hurricane relief aide worker Lia Head-Rigby said scenes around the island nation resemble a war zone. "It's total devastation. It's decimated. Apocalyptic. It looks like a bomb went off," she said. "It's not rebuilding something that was there; we have to start again."

- Lord, we thank You that this storm has been downgraded. We take authority over this hurricane, and command it to turn away from land and out to sea to dissipate.

- "Behold I give you authority to trample on serpents and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy, ad nothing shall by any means hurts you." (Luke 10:19)

A Message from Family Research Council

You have the opportunity to stand for religious liberty!

Dear Friends,

You have the opportunity to stand for religious liberty! Here's how: send a comment to Department of Labor (DOL) Secretary Alex Acosta! The DOL has issued a proposed rule to ensure that churches and other faith-based employers have a level playing field for obtaining federal contracts.

These protections are nothing new, but the previous administration severely limited them. With this proposed rule, the DOL is simply reiterating that faith and religion are welcome in the public square and do not have to remain inside the walls of your home or place of worship.

The Supreme Court recently reiterated this clear First Amendment principle in Trinity Lutheran Church v. Comer. In that case, a church that ran a daycare center was denied access to a government grant program for nonprofit organizations to make their playgrounds safer for children, simply because they were a church. The Supreme Court made clear that Trinity Lutheran Church had just as much right to participate in the grant program as any other daycare center; their status as a church did not prevent them from playing an equal role in the public square.
In order to help ensure that religious liberty is upheld across our nation, the DOL needs to hear from you today! Your public comment is required by law to be reviewed by DOL, so your voice will be heard. Those desiring to stamp out religious liberty are sure to submit a number of comments opposing this proposed rule. Your voice is urgently needed!

Please comment today!

Thank you!

Tony Perkins, President
Family Research Council

Classic Hymns

ABIDE WITH ME

"They urged Him strongly, "Stay with us, for it is nearly evening; the day is almost over."" (Luke 24:29)

Lyrics

Abide with me! Fast falls the eventide; The darkness thickens. Lord with me abide. When other helpers fail, and comforts flee, Help of the helpless, O abide with me!

Swift to its close ebbs out life's little day; Earth's joys grow dim, its glories pass away; Change and decay in all around I see; O Thou who changest not, abide with me!

Not a brief glance I beg, a passing word; But as Thou dwell'st with Thy disciples, Lord, Familiar, condescending, patient, free. Come, not to sojourn, but abide with me.

Come not in terrors, as the King of kings, But kind and good, with healing in Thy wings, Tears for all woes, a heart for every plea, Come, friend of sinners, and abide with me.

Thou on my head in early youth didst smile; And though rebellious and perverse meanwhile, Thou hast not left me, oft as I left Thee, On to the close, O Lord, abide with me!

I need Thy presence every passing hour. What but Thy grace can foil the tempter's power? Who like Thyself my guide and stay can be? Through cloud and sunshine, O abide with me!

I fear no foe with Thee at hand to bless: Ills have no weight, and tears no bitterness. Where is death's sting? Where, grave, thy victory? I triumph still, if Thou abide with me.

Hold Thou Thy cross before my closing eyes; Shine through the gloom and, point me to the skies; Heav'n's morning breaks, and earth's vain shadows flee: In life, in death, O Lord, abide with me!

Tropical Storm Fernand threatens Mexico; triple threat seen as hurricane season nears peak

While attention has been focused on Hurricane Dorian as it ravages the Bahamas and menaces the Southeast coast of the U.S., another tropical system is threatening Mexico this week as hurricane season nears its peak.

The National Hurricane Center said Tuesday that a disturbance in the Gulf of Mexico has become Tropical Storm Fernand, the sixth named storm of the season.

Colorado State University hurricane scientist Phil Klotzbach noted on Twitter the "whopping" four areas of potential development over the Atlantic over the next 5 days.

"The climatological peak of Atlantic hurricane season is around September 10," Klotzbach said.

Christian Refugees Help Myanmar's Monsoon Victims

(Myanmar) - [ASSISTNews.net] In Myanmar, monsoon rains have led to a landslide, killing at least 51 people and reportedly leaving dozens more missing. It's believed to be the deadliest natural disaster to hit the country's southeast in decades, according to World Magazine.

Christian Freedom International reports that across the border in Thailand, refugee students at Christian Freedom International's school swung into action. A village in Karen state-an area that many Christians had fled from Myanmar's brutal military-had called for help.

The ministry says monsoons in Myanmar flooded local towns and have caused landslides. At least 51 people are dead, and 105,000 have been displaced. It is possibly the deadliest natural disaster in the region in decades.

A CFI team left early morning for Myanmar and each member was chosen for specific talents. A Victory Bible Academy graduate with experience in flood relief and construction joined the team.

One village elder said flood water has risen, forcing the evacuation of 90 homes. A Primary school was abandoned and the students all moved to the local community centre. (Read more)
