A Special Prayer:

Dear Friends,

Blessings, grace and peace be unto each one of you in the Name of our Lord, Jesus Christ, amen.

Late yesterday afternoon, I was blessed to meet with a small team of intercessors, to bring our petitions before the Most High God, and to wait to hear what He would say.

Our primary burdens were two:

Repentance before our Lord over the "friendly fire" that has erupted among us over several key issues that now face the nation as a whole. Rather than being in alignment with each other over these needs, we find ourselves, instead, opposing each other and hence, "fighting each other" in the Spirit. We asked God to forgive us as we repented before Him, and we asked Him to please teach us His ways, amen.

Our other burden is the hurricane that now looms in the Atlantic, off the coast of our eastern shore. This deadly storm is growing in strength by the day; and some are warning that we may even be facing "the storm of the century" unless, by some miracle, it either lessens in strength or simply turns and heads back out to sea.

We are trusting God for that miracle to happen.
But as we began to cry out and to beseech Him for His hand of mercy to intervene in the path of this storm, we sensed a grieving in His heart . . . When we asked for clarity, we saw that, because the Body of Christ is not in alignment with each other, there are literal breaches in our walls in the Spirit realm, which have produced great gaps in our shoreline through which the enemy (who comes to rob, to steal and to destroy) can enter in.
"Spare us, O Lord," we prayed, and "teach us Your ways."
It seemed to us that the very Hand of God could not be released to move on our behalf until we confessed our sin to him first, that He might heal our land.

Repentance for our divided state is the key; repentance by the saints of God will reach our Father's heart, that He might show us His mercy again.

"Dear Lord,

Thank you for showing us the error of our ways, and forgive us our trespasses against one another, for we know not what we do. We ask that You would move upon our hearts, teach us Your ways, that we might dwell together in peace, one with another once again. As we examine the walls that have divided us, we claim the blessing and the promise of Eph. 2:14-18. It is written:

14 For he himself is our peace, who has made the two groups one and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility, 15 by setting aside in his flesh the law with its commands and regulations. His purpose was to create in himself one new humanity out of the two, thus making peace, 16 and in one body to reconcile both of them to God through the cross, by which he put to death their hostility. 17 He came and preached peace to you who were far away and peace to those who were near. 18 For through him we both have access to the Father by one Spirit.
Thank You, Father, for hearing our prayer, and for tearing down those walls that have divided us by the power of Your Shed Blood.

Focus on Israel

1. Palestinians send incendiary tires to Israeli shores - YNET News

Hundreds of Palestinians gathered on the beach in the northern Gaza Strip on Monday where they reportedly set afloat on rafts dozens of burning tires, in an attempt to reach Israel's maritime border.

Earlier, dozens of Palestinian boats tried to approach the border with Israel, promoting the navy forces to fire warning shots in the direction of the boats, which resulted in an immediate retreat by the Palestinians.

Gaza's Health Ministry says 10 Palestinians were wounded by Israeli fire along the territory's coast and a Palestinian cameraman in a "Press" vest was shot in the leg. Israel's military said forces shot next to the vessels and at Palestinians on land who threw an explosive device and rolled burning tires at soldiers. (Read more)


2. Syria's Assad has approved use of chlorine gas in Idlib: report - The Hill

Syrian President Bashar Assad has given approval for the use of chlorine gas in the country's last remaining rebel holdout in Idlib province, U.S. officials told The Wall Street Journal on Sunday.

If Assad deploys the chemical against the approximately 70,000 remaining opposition fighters in Idlib, President Trump has privately threatened to deploy a massive attack against him, people familiar with the exchange told the Journal.

The Washington Post reported Friday that the president had approved a new strategy in Syria that would station 2,000 U.S. soldiers there indefinitely.(Read more)


3. Syria's Idlib: High stakes for Turkey as offensive looms - BBC

A government takeover of the last major rebel-held province could bring into question Turkey's relevance to the Syrian conflict and jeopardise its presence in the country.

Turkey controls a significant amount of territory to the north of Idlib.

It has managed to secure that territory over the last couple of years by successfully using its leverage with the rebels in negotiations with Russia and Iran, the Syrian government's two key allies. (Read more)


4. On Rosh Hashanah 5779, Netanyahu Expresses Optimism About Future of Israel and Jewish People - The Algemeiner

In a Rosh Hashanah message he shared on Sunday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu expressed optimism about the future of his country and the Jewish people.

"Our people are united not only by a common past, but by a common and burning support and reverence for liberty, for pluralism, for debate," Netanyahu said. "As we debate, we remember our common heritage, our commitment to our common future, and our common values, of liberty, of inquiry, of ensuring the Jewish future, of contributing to the betterment of the world, and Israel and the Jewish people are doing all of that." 5. Trump Administration to Close Palestine Liberation Organization Office in Washington - Wall Street Journal

The Trump administration is expected to announce Monday that it will close the Palestine Liberation Organization's office in Washington, administration officials said Sunday night, widening a U.S. campaign of pressure amid stalled Middle East peace efforts.

"The United States will always stand with our friend and ally, Israel," national security adviser John Bolton planned to say in a speech he is scheduled to deliver Monday, according a draft of his prepared remarks reviewed by The Wall Street Journal. (Read more)


6. Bolton warns ICC not to go after Israel, confirms closure of PLO's DC office - Times of Israel

The United States on Monday warned the International Criminal Court against prosecution of US or Israeli officials for alleged war crimes in the Middle East. White House National Security Adviser John Bolton called the Hague-based rights body "unaccountable" and "outright dangerous" to the United States, Israel and other allies, and said any probe of US service members would be "an utterly unfounded, unjustifiable investigation."

In the same speech, Bolton confirmed that the US is closing the PLO's office in Washington, DC. (Read more)

1. DNC: Papadopoulos's UK contact may be dead - The Hill

The Democratic National Committee (DNC) on Friday raised the prospect that the London-based professor who told former Trump campaign adviser George Papadopoulos that Russia had "dirt" on Hillary Clinton may be dead. DNC lawyers wrote in court filings Friday that Joseph Mifsud, who spoke to Papadopoulos during the 2016 presidential election, "is missing and may be deceased," Bloomberg News reported. The lawyers did not elaborate.

The DNC stood by its claim in a statement to The Hill on Friday. The committee indicated that an investigator had been used to find Mifsud, who has been missing for months, and was told the Maltese professor may be dead. "The DNC's counsel has attempted to serve Mifsud for months and has been unable to locate or contact him. In addition, public reports have said he has disappeared and hasn't been seen for months," DNC spokeswoman Adrienne Watson said. (Read more)

2. Supremes could overturn precedent in property-rights case - WND

The U.S. Supreme Court will hear a case seeking to overturn a Supreme Court precedent that has hindered property owners from protecting their rights in federal courts.

Knick v. Scott Township in Pennsylvania centers on an ordinance that effectively has turned a woman's private 90 acres into public property. Rose Mary Knick sued, but a federal court refused to hear her federal claim, citing the 1985 U.S. Supreme Court decision Williamson County Regional Planning Commission v. Hamilton Bank. The ruling held property owners must take their federal property rights claims to state courts before going to federal courts.

But state courts refused to take Knick's case, and her defender, the Pacific Legal Foundation, contends the Supreme Court has given the right to private property second-class status. It's the only right guaranteed by the Constitution not directly enforceable by federal courts, Pacific Legal points out. The dispute arose when township officials abruptly adopted an ordinance that requires landowners to open their property to the public if there are claims that a historical gravesite exists on the land, as WND reported. Knick's property has been in her family for half a century, and someone claimed there was on old gravesite on the land, despite lack of evidence. (Read more)

3. Evangelicals falling under spell of social-justice warriors - WND

Many contemporary churches have moved far into the field of social activism, oftentimes casting it as "social justice," based on collectivist ideas and strategies that include the defense of left-leaning causes such as gay rights. Evangelical churches are among them, and now some Christian leaders are responded with a "Statement on Social Justice & the Gospel." "We are deeply concerned that values borrowed from secular culture are currently undermining Scripture in the areas of race and ethnicity, manhood and womanhood, and human sexuality," declares the statement.

Among the initial signatories are John MacArthur of Grace Community Church, James White of Alpha and Omega Ministries, Michael O'Fallon of Sovereign Nations, Voddie Baucham of VBM, Phil Johnson of Grace To You and Darrell Harrison of Rockdale Community Church. "The Bible's teaching on each of these subjects is being challenged under the broad and somewhat nebulous rubric of concern for 'social justice,'" the leaders said. (Read more)

- Lord, Your church should be consumed with following Your Word and listening to Your voice, not following the ways of the world. We pray for a move of Your Spirit in repentance to bring everyone who is called by Your name into right relationship with You.

4. White House free-speech petition gets 100,000 signatures - in 3 days - WND

Titled "Protect Free Speech in the Digital Public Square," the petition was posted Aug. 28 and qualified Aug. 31. President Trump is unlikely to need the encouragement to speak out on the topic since he has been doing to increasingly since early last week when he first warned Google its political bias was over the top.

The text of the petition reads:

"The internet is the modern public square. It is where political campaigns are fought and won, where journalism is created and distributed, and where grassroots movements are born. Yet, the free and open internet has become a controlled, censored space, monopolized by a few unaccountable corporations. "By banning users from their platforms, those corporations can effectively remove politically unwelcome Americans from the public square. That is repugnant to our shared values of free speech and freedom of the press. The President should request that Congress pass legislation prohibiting social media platforms from banning users for First Amendment-protected speech. The power to block lawful content should be in the hands of individual users - not Mark Zuckerberg or Jack Dorsey." (Read more)

5. Federal Judge Calls Catholic Church a 'Sect,' Denies Higher Court's Authority - Breitbart

A federal judge in Texas slighted the Roman Catholic Church in a major case involving abortion and religious liberty on Wednesday, calling the world's largest Christian church a "sect," and suggesting that he might not obey the federal appeals court over him, criticizing the judges who voted to reverse his initial order.

Texas law provides for disposing of the remains of unborn children in a dignified manner. Abortion providers at Whole Woman's Health filed suit in federal court, arguing that these state laws are unconstitutional under U.S. Supreme Court precedent because the statutes ultimately impose an "undue burden" on women seeking abortions.

The Texas Conference of Catholic Bishops (TCCB) weighed in on the case, offering to provide burial services for unborn children as a way of satisfying Texas law. Judge David Ezra shocked observers by ordering the Catholic bishops to give the abortionists copies of internal church communications on abortion, an unprecedented order that the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit reversed in an emergency decision as a violation of the bishops' religious liberty. - Father, it seems as though this judge is just angry because he has been reproved by a higher court. Whatever this judge's personal prejudice might be, we ask that You move on his heart and protect the religious freedom of all denominations from his actions.

6. What if Mueller appointment is 'totally unconstitutional'? - WND

President Trump is hardly alone in suggesting the appointment of Special Counsel Robert Mueller was and remains "totally unconstitutional," which begs the question: What might happen should a lower court case on the matter ever reach the Supreme Court following the presumed confirmation of Brett Kavanaugh?

Just days after Trump fired FBI Director James Comey, Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein announced that grounds existed to appoint a special counsel.

In his order appointing Mueller III as special counsel, Rosenstein limited Mueller's role to leading "the investigation confirmed by then-FBI Director James B. Comey in testimony before the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence on March 20, 2017, including . . . any links and/or coordination between the Russian government and individuals associated with the campaign of President Donald Trump; and any matters that arose or may arise directly from the investigation; and any other matters within the scope of 28 C.F.R. § 600.4(a)."

That last bit refers to a part of the federal code that says that the jurisdiction of a special counsel is to include "the authority to investigate and prosecute federal crimes committed in the course of, and with intent to interfere with, the Special Counsel's investigation, such as perjury, obstruction of justice, destruction of evidence, and intimidation of witnesses."

Several law scholars have made cogent arguments the appointment was flawed. Lower court cases affirming constitutionality have been questioned, including Steven Calabresi, one of the founders of the Federalist Society and a law professor at Northwestern. Calabresi argues that under the Appointments Clause of the Constitution, an official overseeing the probe would be a "principal officer," and thus would have to be someone who was appointed by the president and confirmed by the Senate. 7. RNC admits GOP house majority is at risk - NY POST

The head of the Republican National Committee admitted Sunday that the GOP's majority in the House is at risk because Democrats have the enthusiasm.

"Democrats have energy right now," Ronna Romney McDaniel told John Catsimatidis Sunday on AM 970 in New York. "They thought they were going to win the White House in 2016. They took their eyes off what they needed to do to win that election. And they're coming back strong in 2018, hoping to flip the majority."

Romney McDaniel felt more optimistic that Republicans will retain the Senate and even gain seats. (Read more)

8. Assaults on ICE, Border Patrol surge as illegal immigrants get more violent - Washington Times

Assaults on ICE agents reached a decade high in 2017, and assaults on Border Patrol agents have also surged in recent years, according to new government numbers that seem to back up agents' claims that illegal immigrants are increasingly looking to fight rather than flee. Prosecutors, meanwhile, often refuse to bring charges or win cases against the perpetrators, the audit found.

At the border, the most frequent method of attack was projectiles - usually large rocks - which accounted for half of assaults. But bombs, clubs, knives, guns and even laser pointers to blind agents have all been used. Most of the injuries were minor and didn't require treatment, the audit found. Last year was the most violent this decade at the border, with 28 assaults per every 10,000 apprehensions.

ICE officers, who handle deportations, and Border Patrol agents, who patrol the line between the U.S. and Mexico, say they've seen an increasing willingness on the part of migrants to resort to violence in recent years. (Read more)

9. North Carolina hit with subpoena for millions of voter records by federal officials investigating fraud - Fox News

Federal immigration officials have subpoenaed more than 20 million documents related to voter records in North Carolina as part of an investigation into alleged fraud.

The official request is "the most exhaustive on record" for election officials, North Carolina State Board of Elections and Ethics Enforcement (NCSBE) attorney Josh Lawson said to the assistant U.S. attorney named on the subpoena in an email, which was provided to Fox News.

The request comes just weeks after Justice Department officials charged 19 foreign nationals with illegal voting in North Carolina in the 2016 election. The cases are also being investigated by the Immigration and Custom Enforcements (ICE) agency.

The defendants - from numerous countries, including Mexico, the Dominican Republic, Nigeria and Germany - were accused of filing a false claim of citizenship in order to vote or illegal voting. (Read more)

10. Trump Expected to Declassify Documents on Carter Page, Bruce Ohr In Near Future - Newsmax

President Donald Trump is expected to soon declassify documents related to the government's surveillance of Trump campaign adviser Carter Page and the investigative activities of senior Justice Department official Bruce Ohr, allies of the president told Axios on Sunday.

"After two years of investigations and accusations from both sides of the aisle about what documents indicate, it is past time for documents to be declassified and let the American people decide for themselves if DOJ and FBI acted properly," House Freedom Caucus chairman Mark Meadows told Axios.

Trump allies allege that Ohr played an improper intermediary role between the Justice Department, British spy Christopher Steele and Fusion GPS, the opposition research firm that produced the Trump-Russia dossier.

In addition, Ohr's wife worked for Fusion GPS on Russia-related matters during the presidential election, a fact that Ohr did not disclose on federal forms. Ohr, who previously served as associate deputy attorney general, was demoted late last year over his connections with Steele, according to The Hill. (Read more)

- Lord, we pray that these documents will be made public, and the truth will be made known. We ask that You will remove the blinders from the eyes of the people so that they can see truth and no longer be led astray by agendas against the President.

Red Heifer advances Prophecy Clock

The prophecy clock advanced on August 28 when a red heifer was born in Israel. The heifer was bred, examined, and is being raised under the guidance of the Temple Institute's Raise a Red Heifer program. The red heifer is important to prophecy because its ashes are needed to cleanse the Temple and its instruments. In explaining to his disciples the chronology of events of the last days in Matthew 24:15-16, Christ warns, "When you therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, then let them which be in Judea flee into the mountains." This means that there is a fully operational Jewish Temple in Jerusalem prior to the Messiah's return.

The ordinance of the red heifer is found in Numbers 19 where the Lord commands Moses to bring a "red heifer without spot, wherein is no blemish, and upon which never came yoke" to be slayed outside the camp, and burned with cedar wood, hyssop and scarlet. A clean man is to gather up the ashes of the heifer " . . . and store them outside the camp in a clean place. They are to be kept for the community of the people of Israel to prepare water for purification of sin (verse 9)." Anyone who touches the heifer in the process is rendered unclean. This ordinance is considered a "chok" by the Jews, a statute decreed by God that cannot be understood by human reasoning, because the true meaning is beyond our intellect.

Daniel 11:31 prophesies that In the end of years the armed forces of the king of the north (beast/antichrist) "shall pollute the sanctuary of strength, and shall take away the daily sacrifice, and they shall place the abomination that makes desolation." This is what Christ is referring to in Matthew 24. Therefore, prior to the Messiah returning there are daily sacrifices taking place in the Temple in Jerusalem. According to Jewish tradition, there can be no official Temple in Jerusalem without the red heifer's blood being sprinkled on the temple and the temple's instruments cleansed according to God's instruction in Numbers. This is why the red heifer is so important to end time prophecy. No red heifer, no Temple.

The "chok" of the red heifer is that it is used for cleansing and purification, yet those who touch it become unclean. Think about the symbolism. The red heifer, examined by the priests to have no blemish, is slayed outside the camp and Its blood and ashes are used for purification of sin. Christ, examined by the priests to have no blemish, was crucified outside the camp and risen for the propitiation of sin. Those priests were most certainly unclean. But even the blood of Christ could cleanse them from their sin. Hebrews 9:13-14 concludes: "For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of a heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifies to the purifying of the flesh: How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?"

Hurricane Florence has rapidly intensified into a Category 4 major hurricane south-southeast of Bermuda and is likely to lash the U.S. East Coast later this week with life-threatening storm surge, destructive winds and massive inland rainfall flooding in one of the strongest strikes on record for this part of the East Coast.

If you're in the East Coast threat zone, now is the time to develop or firm up your hurricane preparedness plan and be ready to implement it if necessary. Residents in coastal areas should follow evacuation orders from local officials because of the potential for life-threatening storm-surge flooding. (Read more)

Couple Refuses Abortion Advice, Now Their 'Miracle Baby' Is Thriving

At 23 weeks gestation, Drew and Ariann Corpstein were told to abort their baby due to a developmental problem. They decided not to follow doctors instruction and kept their baby who is now, by miracle, a thriving newborn.

Doctors told the expectant parents that their baby had developed a malformed brain tissue and that his brain had not, and would not fully develop. They diagnosed him with semi-lobar holoprosencephaly, a brain condition where the hemispheres only divide partially, instead of all the way.

Ariann had miscarried prior to having Matthew, but despite the grim prediction from the doctors, she and her husband, both Christians, refused to abort their baby. They, instead, prepared to say goodbye to the baby they had been praying for . . . (Read more)

Capitol Hill Prayer Partners (CHPP) is a ministry which is positioned on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., helping members of the Body of Christ to "pray for those in authority over us" in our federal government. Our primary purpose is to offer intercession on site for the members of Congress and their staffs each day that the Senate and the House of Representatives are in session; and our chief prayer focus is that "God's will be done in earth, as it is in heaven." [Matthew 6:10].

Because Jesus Christ has shed His blood for all, we, too, pray for ALL, in a nonpartisan manner. Also, because the scriptures indicate that "the effectual, fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much" (James 4:17), we are confident that fervent prayer, offered in the halls of the highest chambers of government in our land, can avail much for America. Capitol Hill Prayer Partners welcomes those who feel called to join us, engaging in this strategic work of intercession for our nation: "For there is no power but of God; the powers that be are ordained of God."
