For all items below, we offer this one prayer:

- Father God, we are saddened at this turn of events in our nation's history, but we thank You for now allowing so many hidden things to be revealed. We see these headlines as our own answers to prayer over many, many years, and we thank You for being the faithful God that You are. In His Name, amen.

1. Byron York: Justice Department withholds majority of FBI texts
- Washington Examiner

The Justice Department has given Congress less than 15 percent of the texts between FBI officials Peter Strzok and Lisa Page - and that is all Congress is likely to get, at least until department experts finish an effort to recover an unknown number of previously lost texts that were sent and received during a key five-month period during the Trump-Russia investigation. There is much confusion over some basic facts of the Strzok-Page texts. How many are there? How many relate to the two most politically-charged investigations in years, the Trump-Russia probe and the Hillary Clinton email investigation? How many have been turned over to Congress? And how many are left to be turned over to Congress?

The answers are complicated, but here is what I have been able to figure out from conversations with the Justice Department and Capitol Hill investigators. The Justice Department has identified about 50,000 Strzok-Page texts.

But that is apart from the texts between Dec. 14, 2016 and May 17, 2017 that were declared missing a week ago but are now being recovered. So, the total is apparently 50,000 plus the currently unknown number of formerly missing texts. But that number refers only to the Strzok-Page texts that were sent and received on FBI-issued Samsung phones. There are a number of instances in the texts in which the two officials say that they should switch the conversation to iMessage, suggesting they continued to talk about FBI matters on personal Apple phones. For investigators, those are particularly intriguing texts - what was so sensitive that they couldn't discuss on their work phones? - but the number of those texts is unknown. And of course, they have not been turned over to Congress. (Read more)

2. Gowdy: FBI's Strzok, Page should testify to answer allegations, questions about 'secret society' - Fox News

The House Republicans' top investigator, Rep. Trey Gowdy, said Sunday that text messages between FBI officials Peter Strzok and Lisa Page show they "hated" then-presidential candidate Donald Trump, but the South Carolina lawmaker suggested the two testify to settle concerns on whether they were powerful enough to take down Trump or protect Democratic rival Hillary Clinton from criminal charges over her emails.

"I can't prove that they were the final decision makers," Gowdy, chairman of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Affairs, told "Fox News Sunday." "But I don't have to. Two really important people hated (Trump); would have done anything to protect" Clinton.

Gowdy pointed out that Strzok interviewed Clinton about her use, as secretary of state, of private servers on which emails with classified information were discovered. And Strzok scrubbed language about Clinton's "grossly negligent" behavior from the final FBI report on the server-email investigation, he said.

"Did they have the power to protect her?" Gowdy asked. "The decision not to charge (Clinton) was made even before they interviewed her. How would you like that deal?"

Gowdy also pointed out that Strzok and Page, who were allegedly having an affair at the time, were removed from the Justice Department's Russia-collusion investigation when special counsel Robert Mueller, he said, learned of their "insidious" political bias. (Read more)

3. New texts show 'fix was in' for Clinton email probe, GOP lawmakers say - Fox News

Newly revealed texts between Trump-bashing FBI officials Peter Strzok and Lisa Page show the "fix was in" during Hillary Clinton's email probe in 2016, Republican lawmakers say.

The latest batch of text messages between Strzok and Page, who were involved romantically, revealed their private conversations regarding Clinton -- and their concern about being too tough on her during the investigation into her private email system use. The text messages indicate they were wary of a backlash from Clinton if she were to win the presidential election. "It doesn't appear anyone wanted her charged," House Oversight Committee Chairman Trey Gowdy, R-S.C., said on Fox News' "Tucker Carlson Tonight."

In the newly released texts from Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, Page warned Strzok that Clinton "might be our next president," in a Feb. 25, 2016 exchange. "The last thing you need [is] going in there loaded for bear," Page continued. "You think she's going to remember or care that it was more [DOJ] than [FBI]?" (Read more)

4. Gorka: New FBI Texts Reveal Corruption, Perversion of Justice - Fox News

On "Hannity" Thursday night, Sebastian Gorka reacted to newly recovered text messages between FBI officials Peter Strzok and Lisa Page.

"One of the most senior agents at the FBI, responsible for the Hillary 'Servergate' investigation, decided and put it in a text message to his lover, 'I'm going to give Hillary special treatment because, hey, she might be the next president,'" Gorka said. "That is the definition of the perversion of justice, that is the definition of corruption." (Read more)

5. Secret Group Gives Movement to Impeach Trump Competition - FreeBeacon

The push to impeach President Donald Trump now has some competition from a campaign with unknown financial backers that wants to censure the president instead. On Wednesday, a group that opposes Trump took out a full-page advertisement in the major news section of the New York Times to publicize a petition listing 34 actions by the president that they believe warrant censure by Congress. The 34 points range from the firing of former FBI Director James Comey to "encouraging police discrimination," and even "publishing false and inflammatory right-wing British videos"-a reference to the president retweeting videos on Twitter. "While some of Trump's actions may be sufficient to support his impeachment, we believe that at a minimum they require his immediate censure by Congress," the group wrote.

The organization behind the petition is shrouded in mystery. The campaign's website does not list an address, information about the group's leadership, or the financiers who paid for the New York Times ad. It is also unclear why the ad was taken out on Wednesday, almost six months after the petition first appeared in August 2017. According to the American Prospect and HuffPost, the campaign seems to be the "brainchild" of Jules Bernstein, a Washington, D.C.-based labor lawyer. Bernstein has previously served in high-level positions with the International Brotherhood of Teamsters and the Laborers International Union of North America. He was also on the executive committee of the Democratic Socialists of America in the 1980s. (Read more)

6. As walls close in on FBI, the bureau lashes out at its antagonists - The Hill

What happens when federal agencies accused of possible wrongdoing - also control the alleged evidence against them? What happens when they're the ones in charge of who inside their agencies - or connected to them - ultimately gets investigated and possibly charged? Those questions are moving to the forefront as the facts play out in the investigations into our intelligence agencies' surveillance activities.

There are two overarching issues. First, there's the alleged improper use of politically-funded opposition research to justify secret warrants to spy on U.S. citizens for political purposes. Second, if corruption is ultimately identified at high levels in our intel agencies, it would necessitate a re-examination of every case and issue the officials touched over the past decade - or two - under administrations of both parties. This is why I think the concerns transcend typical party politics. It touches everybody. It's potentially monumental.

This week, the FBI said it was unfair for the House Intelligence Committee not to provide its memo outlining alleged FBI abuses. The committee wrote the summary memo after reviewing classified government documents in the Trump-Russia probe. The FBI's complaint carries a note of irony considering that the agency has notoriously stonewalled Congress. Even when finally agreeing to provide requested documents, the Department of Justice uses the documents' classified nature to severely restrict who can see them - even among members of Congress who possess the appropriate security clearance. - When wickedness thinks it has safely hidden its secrets, we know that You know all things and You know people's hearts and intentions. We just right now put this very convoluted situation into Your hands for untangling and for bringing Your kind of justice to those involved. Lord, our leaders need the mind of Christ to handle this dilemma and we pray they know that this is not too hard for You. We ask You to bring down the years of abuse and establish honest and trustworthy men and women in our justice and security agencies.

7. Trump Wanted FISA Memo Released, Unlike Justice Dept. - Newsmax/Washington Post

President Donald Trump told top aides on Wednesday to release the House Intelligence Committee's memo alleging Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) abuses by the FBI - putting him at odds with the Justice Department, The Washington Post reported Saturday.

President Trump "is inclined to have that released just because it will shed light," a senior administration official told the Post. "Apparently, all the rumors are that it will shed light, it will help the investigators come to a conclusion," said the official, who was "speaking on the condition of anonymity to recount private conversations," the Post reported.

The FISA memo was produced by Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes, the California Republican, and his staff. (Read more)

8. House Intel meets Monday and could vote on memo release - Washington Examiner

The House Intelligence Committee meets at 5 p.m. Monday in the Capitol. The meeting will give the committee its first opportunity to vote on the question of releasing the so-called "FISA abuse" memo that has captured Washington's attention in recent days. Since the GOP holds a 13 to 9 advantage on the committee, the overwhelming likelihood is that if there is a vote, the panel will decide, along party lines, to release the memo.

At that point, House rules call for the committee to await a decision by the president on whether he supports or opposes release of the memo. President Trump has made clear he supports release, so the memo could be made public quickly.

The public might also learn committee Democrats' plans for a counter-memo. Ranking member Rep. Adam Schiff has accused Republicans of cherry-picking and distorting the intelligence underlying the GOP memo, and last Wednesday announced that Democrats would "draft our own memorandum, setting out the relevant facts and exposing the misleading character of the Republicans' document."

Schiff said that at Monday's meeting he will move for a committee vote to make the Democratic memorandum available to all members of the House - a mirror image of the committee's Jan. 18 vote to make the Republican memo available to the House. (Read more)

1. World remembers Holocaust amid signs of rising hatred - Times of Israel

In Warsaw, Poland, US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson paid his respects in a solemn ceremony at a memorial to the Jews who died revolting against German forces in the doomed Warsaw Ghetto Uprising of 1943. The head of Warsaw's Jewish community read a prayer and Tillerson made brief remarks about the importance of not forgetting the horrors of the Holocaust.

"The western alliance which emerged from World War II has committed itself to the assuring the security of all, that this would never happen again," he said. "As we mark this day in solemn remembrance, let us repeat the words of our own commitment: Never again. Never again."

German Chancellor Angela Merkel marked the day by addressing the rising anti-Semitism in her weekly Saturday podcast. She said that schools, which already teach about the country's Nazi past, will need to work harder at that, especially so immigrant students from Arab countries will not "exercise anti-Semitism." She called it "incomprehensible and a disgrace that no Jewish institution can exist without police security -whether it is a school, a kindergarten or a synagogue."

2. PA officials claim 'Palestinian borders' include all of Israel - World Israel News

The Palestinian Authority continues to bestow plaques upon various honorees that depict Palestinian territory as comprising all of Israel, a phenomenon recently documented by Palestinian Media Watch (PMW).

Among the recent examples of this practice are the PA National Security Forces and PA Ministry of Education distributing honorary plaques with a PA map that eliminates the existence of the Jewish State. District Governor of Ramallah and El-Bireh Laila Ghannam received a plaque like this in mid-January depicting the PA's Israel-free version of Palestinian borders.

Similarly, at a ceremony honoring students in Shechem (Nablus), PA Minister of Education and Higher Education Dr. Sabri Saidam posed with an honorary plaque featuring the PA map of Palestine. This practice is consistent with statements by PA officials describing "Palestinian land" as covering the area "between the [Jordan] River and the [Mediterranean] Sea."

3. Palestinians burn effigies of Trump, Pence - World Israel News

Palestinian protesters took to the streets on Saturday, burning effigies of US President Donald Trump and Vice President Mike Pence, reported Palestinian news channel Wattan. The protests took place in Aida, north of Bethlehem, where demonstrators staged mock executions of the US leaders.

According to Wattan, the protesters were demonstrating against US cuts to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA), a UN body devoted solely to funneling aid to Palestinians in Judea and Samaria, Gaza, Jordan, and Lebanon.

Among the signs displayed at the Aida protests were placards equating Zionism with Nazism, and others comparing the US to the Islamic State. Such tropes have become commonplace in pro-Palestinian demonstrations throughout the world, which have garnered greater attention following the US' official recognition of Jerusalem as Israel's capital.

4. Severed doll heads, anti-deportation notes found at Tel Aviv immigration office - Times of Israel

A number of severed doll heads doused in red paint were found outside the Tel Aviv office of the Population, Immigration, and Border Authority (PIBA) on Saturday, in what appears to be a protest move against the Israeli government's intention to deport African asylum seekers.

The dolls and paint were accompanied by typed notes saying "their blood is on your hands," and "this is just the beginning," according to Hadashot TV. Police launched an investigation and said that law enforcement authorities viewed any vandalization of government offices "with severe gravity." Police added that the probe is being given high priority. PIBA said in a statement that the incident was a "despicable act against government employees doing their jobs, an act that has no resemblance to a legitimate fight or acceptable [form of] protest."

5. IDF Spokesman Warns Lebanon of War With Israel If Iranian Presence Grows - Jerusalem Post

IDF Spokesman Brig.-Gen. Ronen Manelis warned in a rare op-ed on a Lebanese opposition website that a war with Israel could break out if Iran develops precision missiles in the country.

"Lebanon has become - both by its own actions and omissions and by a blind eye from many members of the international community - one large missile factory," Manelis wrote on the Ahewar website.

"It's no longer a transfer of arms, funds or consultation. Iran has de-facto opened a new branch, the 'Lebanon branch.' Iran is here," he said.

7. Netanyahu Meets with World Leaders to Push for Changes to Nuclear Deal - Bridges for Peace

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met German Chancellor Angela Merkel in Davos, Switzerland, as part of his participation in the World Economic Forum's annual summit. Netanyahu also leveraged his attendance in the event to speak with other heads of state in an attempt to convince them to push for changes to the nuclear agreement with Iran.

At the conclusion of the premier's meeting with his German counterpart, Netanyahu said, "It was a significant meeting, in which we naturally spoke of the Iranian nuclear agreement. I told her that by my estimate the only viable option right now is putting in real-rather than cosmetic-changes to prevent Iranian nuclearization. Otherwise, its nuclearization is assured by the agreement's current promulgation."

"I expressed my gratitude for Chancellor Merkel's real commitment to Israel's security," the prime minister continued. "She also reiterated that commitment herself. She said she understood our concerns regarding the agreement, but did not necessarily concur with the manner in which we wanted to go about handling it." (Read more)

- Give thanks for all the opportunities and successful meetings PM Netanyahu was able to have with world leaders. Pray that his words urging them to take action against the Iranian nuclear weapons program will be effective. Continue to ask the Lord to grant him wisdom as he lobbies to gain global support against this threat.

The Daily Brief

1. Trump tells world business leaders: America is 'open for business' - Washington Times

President Trump told the world's top business leaders Friday that the U.S. is "open for business" on the strength of his corporate tax cuts and deregulation, and vowed that he will vigorously enforce fair trade laws.

"The world is witnessing the resurgence of a strong and prosperous America," Mr. Trump said at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. "There has never been a better time to hire, to build, to invest and to grow in the United States. America is open for business and we are competitive once again."

The surging U.S. economy has been the talk of the conference, with employers expanding and hiring in the wake of last month's cut in the corporate tax rate from 35 percent to 21 percent. "As a result, millions of workers have received tax-cut bonuses from their employers," he said, and Apple Inc. is repatriating about $245 billion in overseas profits. He said regulation is "stealth taxation" by unelected bureaucrats. "In America, those days are over," the president said. "Come to America, where you can innovate, create and build." (Read more)

- Lord, we give You praise and honor for guiding President Trump as he continues to "Make America Great Again." Despite all ugly critics trying to break his spirit, he continues as You lead by taking the high road and moving forward. His speech encouraging other nations to invest in America was a positive step in improving America's economic relations worldwide. America did not hear or see anything positive from the past administration. Donald Trump is a man of God. Hallelujah! Our God reigns forever and ever.

- Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us have grace, by which we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear. (Hebrews 12:28)

2. Trump offers to triple Obama's amnesty number in exchange for tougher security laws - Washington Times President Trump will propose a pathway to citizenship for 1.8 million illegal immigrant Dreamers, nearly tripling the Obama-era DACA program, the White House said Thursday. Mr. Trump's vision, which he will submit to Congress next week, would grant legal status to fewer than the 3 million people under the plan Senate Democrats have backed. But the number of people is far higher than the 690,000 in the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program. White House officials said they felt they had to go that far in order to demand major changes on the security side, including an end to catch-and-release of illegal immigrants snared at the border, faster deportations for those caught overstaying their visas inside the U.S. and $25 billion for Mr. Trump's wall.

Of the additional 1.1 million people Mr. Trump would enroll, about 600,000 were eligible for DACA but, for various reasons, didn't apply, and 500,000 or so who would be admitted under adjusted timelines. The White House called the 1.8 million "a dramatic concession by the White House to get to 60 votes in the Senate." It would take the immigrants 10 to 12 years to earn citizenship.

The White House said it envisioned Mr. Trump's plan as the basis for Senate negotiations but expected the House to pass its own bill. "We're not trying to force something on the House at this point. I think the House has got its own independent process," an adviser said. The White House said the president's plan would boost security at the northern border as well, which could entice senators in Montana, North Dakota and Minnesota who are calling for attention to the U.S.-Canada line. Mr. Trump's plan would cancel the Diversity Visa Lottery, which gives 50,000 visas per year based on chance. Those visas would be recaptured and used to reduce the backlog in merit-based migration. The president also asked Congress to allow faster deportations for those who overstay their visitors' visas, who could account for half of all new illegal immigration. (Read more)

- Lord, we pray that these proposals by President Trump will be a jump start to the passage of effective controls on immigration to our country. Father, we put these opposing ways of handling the people included in the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals along with other Illegals in Your mighty hands. We ask You to give President Trump wisdom in his dealings with the strong opposition to establishing a secure border and effective enforcement of sensible laws regarding immigrants. Lord, reveal all wicked motives and silence the voice of the enemies of America as You have called it to be.

- "But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ."
(1 Corinthians 15:57)

3. Trump Provokes Democrats Into Showing Their True Colors On Immigration - Daily Caller

Giving amnesty to 1.8 million illegal immigrants seems like President Trump is willing to concede a lot to Democrats in Congress in order to build the wall and make serious reforms to immigration policy. But in spite of the major concession on the part of the White House, Democrats and left-wing activists are treating the offer as a "legislative burning cross. Let's call this proposal for what it is: a white supremacist ransom note," immigrant advocacy group United We Dream declared in a statement. "Trump and [White House aide] Stephen Miller killed DACA and created the crisis that immigrant youth are facing. They have taken immigrant youth hostage, pitting us against our own parents, Black immigrants and our communities in exchange for our dignity."

Democratic leaders also voiced similar rhetoric in rejecting the compromise. Illinois Sen. Dick Durbin, who has been heavily involved in the DACA negotiations, called the plan "a crusade to tear families apart." Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer stated Trump is using Dreamers "as a tool to tear apart our legal immigration system and adopt the wish list that anti-immigration hardliners have advocated for for years." House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi said the offer amounted to a "campaign to make America white again."

The response to the White House's DACA deal is undeniable proof that radical identity politics has taken over the Left and prevents them from legislating in the interests of average Americans. According to a recent Harvard poll, 81 percent of Americans want immigration reduced and 65 percent agree with giving amnesty for Dreamers in exchange for Trump's reforms (funding the wall, ending chain migration and eliminating the visa lottery). Sixty percent of Americans oppose giving amnesty to the parents of Dreamers, a primary demand of Democrats. (Read more)

- Our Father, arguments continue. Those under Satan's rule always end on the same note of dividing our people. Black, white and all other skin colors are the same in Your eyes. How do those opposed to our president end a discussion on DACA as a color issue? Please, Lord, remove the scales of their eyes and let them see that You are the loving and merciful father of all. Let Your peace be dominant in America again as "One nation under God."

- "For you, brethren, have been called to liberty; only do not use liberty as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another." (Galatians 5:13)

4. Senate Votes TODAY on the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act, S. 2311 - Family Research Council

On Monday, the U.S. Senate is expected to vote on the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act (S. 2311) sponsored by Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC), which is identical to the bill passed by the House in October. The bill would prohibit brutal abortions on unborn babies after 5 months post-fertilization, the point at which science tells us the children feel excruciating pain from being ripped apart in the womb. The bill would likely save over 13,000 human lives each year and directly challenges Roe v. Wade precedent.

After the House passed the bill in October 2017, President Donald Trump said he would sign this bill into law. Senators need to be held accountable on whether or not they believe pain-capable unborn babies should be aborted.

Unborn babies at this stage can feel pain as is evidenced by the fact that unborn children at this age routinely are given anesthesia during prenatal surgery. Dr. Kanwaljeet Anand testified before Congress that "the human fetus possesses the ability to experience pain from 20 weeks gestation, if not earlier and the pain perceived by the fetus is possibly more intense than that perceived by term newborns or children."

Medical advances have enhanced our understanding of unborn human life and it's time for the law to catch up. (Family Research Council; excerpt)

- Father, we pray this bill would be made into law. Thank You for the creation of this bill sponsored by Senator Lindsey Graham.

- "Whoever takes a human life shall surely be put to death." (Leviticus 24:17)

5. President Donald J. Trump to Deliver his First State of the Union Address on Tuesday

Senior White House official describes State of the Union address as "unifying" - CBS News

In delivering his first State of the Union address on Tuesday, President Donald Trump will discuss his infrastructure plan, immigration reform, trade, and the tax bill that passed in December.

The theme of Mr. Trump's speech -- "building a safe, strong and proud America" -- was described by a senior White House official as "unifying," with an emphasis on Mr. Trump's deregulation efforts and tax cuts that have spurred an "economic boom" and stock market records.

"If last year was described as optimistic, I think this speech is also optimistic but it's also very unifying," the senior White House official told reporters in a background briefing on Friday at the White House. "In the sense that it is unifying around the greater opportunities for all Americans as a result of last year's jobs growth and success in the economy." (Read more)

- Father God, we once again lift up all who will be assembled together in the Chamber of the House of Representatives this Tuesday night, to listen to the State of the Union Address. Those dignitaries will include: the members of both the House and the Senate; all Supreme Court Justices; our top military leaders from the Pentagon, all Cabinet Secretaries (save one, to be announced that day), and of course President Trump, his wife Melania, and his son Barron.

We ask that Your hand of protection would rest upon each one, as well as all who may be assembled on the Capitol grounds. We ask, too, that You would grace our new president with words that please You, and that truly reflect his amazing achievements during his first year in office. We ask this in Your name, amen.

- > > > Please decree all of Psalm 91 over this event. Thank you. [Prayer repeated from this week's edition of the Legislative Snapshot.]

6. Supreme Court Finalizes Lineup of Big Cases for the Year's Term - Breitbart

The Supreme Court on Monday completed its docket for the annual term that began in October 2017 and ends in June 2018, rounding out a term containing cases for the history books.

Each year the justices receive over 7,000 petitions for a writ of certiorari, the process by which parties ask the Court to review their case. They select about 80. While most cases are very technical legal issues that are not of general public interest, the current term has an unusually high number of newsworthy cases. Those 20 are listed below. Already this term, the justices have heard 11 major cases. . . . The remaining nine cases of broad interest are yet to be argued. (Read all details here.)

- Father God, now that these cases have been identified, move upon the supreme court judges who will be hearing these cases and give them the wisdom that is required to judge honestly and correctly according to the will of God. We pray in the mighty name of Jesus and for God's glory, amen.

- "My defense is of God, which saves the upright in heart." (Psalm 7:10)

7. NIFLA v. Becerra Supreme Court Case: Impacts Religious Freedom, Free Speech - National Review

The NIFLA case {National Institute of Family Life Advocacy) is unquestionably about compelled speech. The state of California has enacted a law, the so-called FACT Act, that requires pro-life crisis-pregnancy centers to prominently place a notice informing clients that California offers low-cost and even free abortions to women who qualify and providing them a phone number that grants quick access to abortion clinics.

In other words, California is requiring pro-life professionals - people who've dedicated their lives to protecting the unborn by offering pregnant mothers alternatives to abortion - to advertise state-sponsored abortions. California is making this demand even though it has ample opportunity to advertise state services without forcing pro-life citizens to do so. The state can rent billboard space on the very streets where crisis-pregnancy centers are located. It can hand out leaflets on the sidewalk. It can advertise on television and the radio. It can advertise on the Internet or social media. But rather than using its own voice, it is co-opting the voices of its pro-life citizens, forcing them to join its pro-abortion crusade.

And the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals held that the FACT Act is constitutional. To validate California's oppressive act, its decision carved out a dangerous First Amendment exception for what it deemed "professional speech" - "speech that occurs between professionals and their clients in the context of their professional relationship" - and ruled that the state had much greater leeway in regulating, for example, doctor/patient communication. (Read more)

> > > Please see also: article below, calling for a prayer vigil over this critical case for LIFE.

- Almighty God, we look deep into this NIFLA case, and the so-called FACT Act in California and we see the evil agenda it endorses. This law forces pro-life citizens to endorse pro-abortion (and pro-death) crusades, and will provide quick access to clinics where women can obtain abortions, free of charge. In doing so, this gives the enemy an open door to legalize that which You call "sin."

Holy God, we pray You step into this arena and stop these wheels from turning our nation into unholiness beyond belief. Father, we ask that You loose a cloud of godliness over the State of California and our nation that will put a stop to these actions. We pray in the Name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and our Lord, amen.

- "Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil and he shall flee from you. Draw near to God, and He will draw near unto you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded." (James 4:7-8)

8. Trump's First Year Is a Big Win for Conservative Judges - Newsweek

The past year was probably the most consequential in modern history for the appointment of conservative judges to the federal courts, with a successor to Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia who shares his judicial philosophy, and a historic number of appeals court judges who will shape the law for two generations. What led to this transformative moment was a unique presidential election, the first in American history during which the composition of the federal judiciary, particularly the Supreme Court, was cited as a major factor for a large swath of voters. The issue might well have been decisive to the outcome of that contest. (Read more)

- Father, help these new judges to restore integrity and justice to the judicial system throughout their lifelong tenure. Grant that President Trump will appoint hundreds more similarly highly qualified, conservative judges this year and the next few years. May the American people realize just how great God's mercy has been to us, and to pray for the president and our judges.

- "When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked bear rule, the people mourn." (Proverbs 29:2)

[This prayer was offered by Rev. Pierre Bynum, Family Research Council]

9. 'Many more weeks' to come in fierce, deadly flu season, CDC says - CNN

Influenza activity continues to be widespread in all states except Hawaii, according to the weekly flu report released Friday by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. All while, based on the latest data, the flu season has not even peaked yet, said Kristen Nordlund, a spokeswoman for the CDC. "Hopefully we're in the peak currently, since the data is a week behind, or that it peaks soon. Regardless, there is a lot of flu activity happening across the country and likely many more weeks to come," Nordlund said.

The current pervasiveness of the flu across the country appears to be similar to what was seen during peak flu season from 2014 to 2015, said Dr. Pedro Piedra, professor of molecular virology and microbiology and pediatrics at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. That year the H3N2 subtype of the influenza A virus was the dominant strain making people sick, which appears to be the same strain being seen this year. It is typically associated with higher rates of hospitalizations and deaths, as was the case in 2014 to 2015. "We tend to forget very rapidly the impact that influenza has on our communities, and we often times have flu seasons just as intense as this one, but we forget it," Piedra said.

"Every so often -- it's really like every other year to every third year -- where we have a flu season that is intense," he said. "We are reminded about the number of deaths that we see, about the number of hospitalizations, the number of outpatient visits, but this happens." (Read more)

- Father God, we come into Your presence asking and believing for the prevention and healing of the flu epidemic in our 49 states. You are able and we believe Your promises to end the flu and that it will not return. We say to Satan to take his hand off of our people! The LORD rebuke you, Satan! (Zechariah 3:2) Thank You, Father, for healing and caring our people. We pray that the lost will be led to You through this healing grace. We love You, O Lord. In Your Name we pray, amen.

- "Then your light shall break forth like the morning, Your healing shall spring forth speedily, And your righteousness shall go before you; The glory of the Lord shall be your rear guard." (Isaiah 58:8)

10. U.S. Coalition Forces 'Well Prepared' to Defend Against Turkish Offensive in Syria - FreeBeacon

U.S. coalition forces stationed in the Syrian Kurdish town of Manbij are ready to guard against a threatened Turkish offensive that risks direct confrontation between the NATO allies, a coalition spokesman said Friday. Turkey last week launched an air and ground assault on the northern Syrian enclave of Afrin in an attempt to oust the American-backed People's Protection Units, or YPG, which Ankara considers a terrorist group. President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has threatened to extend the operation 60 miles east to Manbij, where, unlike in Afrin, the Pentagon maintains U.S. troops.

Dillon reaffirmed American support for the Kurdish YPG fighters who make up the backbone of the Syrian Democratic Forces, a key U.S. partner in the campaign against the Islamic State. The Trump administration has continued to provide weapons, training, and air support to SDF troops over the protests of Turkey. "They have played a role in making sure we can stay focused on defeating Daesh," Dillon said, using an alternative name for ISIS. "That threat still exists, there's still hardcore fighting happening, and that's what we are still focused on and we don't want anything to distract from that."

Turkey on Thursday again urged the United States to withdraw its support for Kurdish YPG fighters or face "confrontation" with its troops. Erdogan has repeatedly called on President Donald Trump to remove American troops from Syria. (Read more)

- Almighty God, enforce the strength of the People's Protection Units (YPG), the Syrian Democratic Forces, by dispatching a host of heavenly angels into their midst which will protect them and give them the wisdom of Gideon's army. We thank You that our troops are also in position to help strengthen these freedom fighters. We ask that You hand of protection would rest upon them all. In the holy Name of Jesus we pray, amen.

- "And when Gideon perceived that he was an angel of the Lord, Gideon said, Alas, O Lord God! for because I have seen an angel of the Lord face to face. And the Lord said into him, Peace be unto you: fear not: you shall not die." (Judges 6:22-23)

Deep State in the news

There's a lot of news to end the week. The Justice Department has used forensics to recover the missing texts from anti-Trump FBI officials Peter Strzok and Lisa Page. Attorney General Jeff Sessions told FOX News, Strzok and Page exchanged an estimated 50,000 texts across four phones during their affair and efforts to undermine President Donald Trump. These texts just happen to cover the time from Trump's inauguration through the firing of FBI Director James Comey and the establishment of former FBI Director Robert Mueller as Special Counsel to investigate Russian collusion with the Trump campaign. Strzok and Page may have been part of a secret society against Trump lodged within the FBI.

Congressman John Ratliffe (R-TX) Monday said on Fox News, "We learned today about information that in the immediate aftermath of [Trump's] election, that there may have been a secret society of folks within the Department of Justice and the FBI -- to include Page and Strzok -- that would be working against him." FOX News also reported, "In another infamous message, Strzok appeared to make reference to an "insurance policy" against a Trump win. Strzok wrote, "I want to believe the path you threw out for consideration in Andy's office - that there's no way he gets elected - but I'm afraid we can't take that risk. It's like an insurance policy in the unlikely event you die before you're 40..."

According to Politico, Strzok and Page also were involved in discussing a possible Hillary Clinton Special Counsel-but it appears from a different vantage. They didn't want an investigation to go forward because, as Page texted to Strzok, "One more thing: she might be our next president. The last thing you need us going in there loaded for bear. You think she's going remember or care that it was more DOJ than FBI?" Strzok replied, "Agreed." The texts also indicate that Page was a leak to Devlin Barrett of the Wall Street Journal. It is not known whether she was leaking classified information or trying to shape the narrative to protect Clinton, but we do know that she was strongly biased against Trump.

It is difficult to imagine that Strzok and Page were the only two people in the FBI who were plotting against Trump. These are the ones who got caught. When Trump claimed that there was a deep state within the government undermining America, the globalists, socialist and their media minions claimed he was crazy. But most everything Trump has said about the ex "president" spying on him to deep state conspiracies to no Russian collusion is proving out. The big collusion is between the globalist establishment cabal and the media trying to undermine the will of the people. It is like 2 Timothy 3:13, "But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived." These people are like a deep-rooted malignant tumor. It's going to take a lot of digging to remove them because the deep state is rooted in the news.

Prophetic implications of corruption investigations

The current investigations into political corruption have certainly heightened since the last presidential election. They seemed to flip from scrutinizing the corruption of the previous administration and the dealings associated with Bill and Hillary Clinton and their Foundation to investigating all things Donald Trump. The news media is trying Trump in the public square as if he were already guilty of wrong-doing. Corrupt people are accusing others of doing the very thing they have done, hoping their dirty deeds remain hidden. Notwithstanding, these current investigations-one by Special Counsel Robert Mueller, and the others by various committees in Congress-may have extraordinary prophetic implications.

Mueller and his team are investigating possible Russian involvement in influencing the last presidential election. That investigation, however, has expanded to investigating whether President Donald Trump had any illegal ties with Russia that could have tipped the outcome of the election and if Trump obstructed justice. Mueller seems to be single-focused on Trump rather than the very obvious Russian connections of failed candidate Hillary Clinton who enriched herself with an elaborate pay to play scheme of influence peddling, sales of uranium to Russia, and her husband receiving hundreds of thousands of dollars for a speaking engagement in Russia.

Enter Congressional investigations indicating that the ex "president" used a secret court established to flush out terrorist to spy on Americans, most notably Donald Trump, in a effort to undermine his campaign and subsequent presidency. Additionally, high ranking officials appointed by the ex "president" exonerated Hillary Clinton of wrong-doing over leaking classified information on unsecured email servers. The ex "president's" FBI and Justice Department appears to have a secret society that held meetings to undermine a duly elected President after the election. These Congressional investigations seem to indicate a deep-rooted, highly sophisticated conspiracy to maintain control of the government.

Most look at this as a Democrat vs Republican conflict. Others view it as a globalist vs sovereignty issue, as globalists of both parties are fighting to maintain control-wanting open borders, US-financed climate control, global economy, one-world government, etc. Consider, however, this as a prophetic battle. Globalists also want to divide and weaken Israel. This ultimately encourages Israel's end time enemies, as Ezekiel 38:12 says, "To take a spoil, and to take a prey." In the last 30 years, globalist presidents have sought the division of the covenant land of Israel. This current president has recognized Jerusalem as its capital, is defunding Israel's enemies, and has signaled he doesn't support dividing Israel. Imagine the anger of the principalities and powers of darkness against a mere human who dare undermine the devil.

A Commentary on our Day

Light Amid Public Policy Darkness

Submitted by: Rev. Pierre Bynum
Chaplain & National Prayer Director
Family Research Council

The eight long years endured under the Obama administration were a dark time in American history when it comes to religious liberty. It was as if government entities felt they had "permission" to go after people of faith, especially Christians, for their public religious expression, especially when it contradicted sexual anarchy. Yet the administration and state human rights commissions were not the only ones at fault for this assault on our freedom to believe and live according to those beliefs. Ignorance, passivity, and confusion in the church as to civil duty played a role with most who remained silent on the sidelines. Secular, often faith-hostile education in our public schools and universities certainly played an active part by means of propaganda and peer pressure, positing that our first freedom is superseded by the mandate to not only accept but to celebrate unbiblical and harmful sexual behavior. Then the Supreme Court essentially gave this line of reasoning the force of law when they redefined marriage. Things were dark indeed.

Yet God's people never stopped praying! And the election of a president who champions religious liberty, as President Trump has shown himself to be, was an answer to prayer even if God's answer was not exactly what many of his people envisioned. Most experts believe a Hillary Clinton White House would have continued the conscience-violating, even dictatorial policies of the Obama administration. Yet immediately after his election, President Trump acted to keep his promise to safeguard religious liberty. Those who follow these matters know that the hostility toward people of faith requires vigilance. That is why we need leaders who will enforce the First Amendment's restraint when it comes to faith expression: "nor prohibiting the free exercise thereof" and a vigilant and courageous Christian citizenry.
- Thanks be to God for giving President Trump a burden to champion religious liberty. May Christians pray for and support the president for the good things he is doing, even if they cannot approve of his past or present behavior in other respects.

- "That saith of Cyrus, He is my shepherd, and shall perform all my pleasure: even saying to Jerusalem, Thou shalt be built; and to the temple, Thy foundation shall be laid." (Isaiah 44:28)

The NIFLA Case: A Call to Prayer

The NIFLA Case: A Call to Prayer

National Institute of Family and Life Advocates

IMPORTANT NEWS!
SCOTUS SETS DATE OF ARGUMENT
FOR MARCH 20, 2018

Dear NIFLA Members, Friends and Supporters,

We have just heard from the Supreme Court of the United States (SCOTUS) that the date assigned for argument in our case against the state of California -- NIFLA v. Becerra -- will be Tuesday, March 20, 2018.

We are launching two very important projects in regards to this hearing and I urge you to be involved in each one of them.

1. Continuous 24-Hour Prayer Vigil: As we did last fall, we will have a continuous 24-hour prayer vigil. We ask that your center select one day of 24-hour prayer. This prayer vigil will begin February 1, and last through March 20, the day of argument.

We ask that you sponsor a day of prayer during this time. You can organize it any way you want (eight people praying three hours each, twelve people praying two hours each, etc). We will have posted on our web site a calendar for you to select your day of prayer. There you will also find prayer verses, prayer topics, and suggested prayers to use during your time of intercession.

Let's make this a huge national prayer meeting where the work of pregnancy centers is lifted up in prayer in every community of the nation. With your participation, we can do this. Be looking for specifics on this in the very near future.
2. Rally at the Steps of SCOTUS on March 20: We are working with Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF) to organize a massive rally on the steps of SCOTUS the day of argument. We are asking that every NIFLA member have at least one person in Washington D.C. on this day to participate. With that commitment, we will have over 1,500 supporters on the steps of the Court that day -- and I understand that this would be a record.

Please participate in this if you are able. You should plan to come into Washington D.C. on Monday, March 19. NIFLA will provide information for you regarding suggested hotel accommodations for your stay.

The rally will begin on the steps of SCOTUS at 9:00 am EST and last until noon. Argument inside the Court will begin at 10:00 am and last for one hour. The national media will undoubtedly cover this rally so it is important that we have a large turnout. Again, watch for more specific information on these plans which will be sent to you soon.

This is our moment!

This is our time!

It will be historic!
Please do not miss this opportunity to be a part of history and tell the nation about the critical, life-affirming work of pro-life pregnancy centers.

I look forward to meeting you in Washington D.C. on the day of argument. In the meantime, continue to pray for this case.

Under His mercy,

Thomas Glessner, J.D.
President

SIGNS AND WONDERS

Super blue moon to coincide with lunar eclipse
for 1st time in 150 years

A blue moon, a supermoon and a lunar eclipse will all fall on the same night at the end of January in an event that hasn't happened in over 150 years.

These three lunar events separately are not uncommon, but it is rare for all three to occur at the same time. The last time that there was a blue moon, a supermoon and a total lunar eclipse at the same time for North America was on March 31, 1866.

More recently, a blue moon, a supermoon and a lunar eclipse occurred at the same time on Dec. 30, 1982, but only for the Eastern Hemisphere. Because of time zones, the full moon was not considered a blue moon for North America as the previous full moon occurred at the end of Nov. 30, not early on Dec. 1.

The full moon will rise on the evening of Tuesday, Jan. 30, and set around daybreak on Wednesday, Jan. 31, local time.

People all across North America will be able to see the moon light up the night sky, as long as clouds do not interfere, but only those in the central and western parts of the continent will be able to see a total lunar eclipse. (Accuweather.com) To learn more, go here.

Classic Hymns

WE HAVE AN ANCHOR

"An anchor for the soul, firm and secure." (Hebrews 6:19)

Lyrics

Will your anchor hold in the storms of life, When the clouds unfold their wings of strife? When the strong tides lift and the cables strain, Will your anchor drift, or firm remain?

Refrain

We have an anchor that keeps the soul
Steadfast and sure while the billows roll,
Fastened to the Rock which cannot move,
Grounded firm and deep in the Savior's love.

It is safely moored, 'twill the storm withstand, For 'tis well secured by the Savior's hand; And the cables, passed from His heart to mine, Can defy that blast, thro' strength divine.

Refrain

It will surely hold in the Straits of Fear- When the breakers have told that the reef is near; Though the tempest rave and the wild winds blow, Not an angry wave shall our bark o'erflow.

Refrain

It will firmly hold in the Floods of Death-- When the waters cold chill our latest breath, On the rising tide it can never fail, While our hopes abide within the Veil.

Refrain

When our eyes behold through the gath'ring night The city of gold, our harbor bright, We shall anchor fast by the heav'nly shore, With the storms all past forevermore.

Refrain

The Good News Corner

World Leaders Now Taking Action to Protect Persecuted Middle-East Christians

"We will no longer rely on the United Nations alone to assist persecuted Christians and minorities in the wake of genocide and the atrocities of the terrorist groups. ... The United States will work hand in hand from this day forward with faith-based groups and private orgs to help those who are persecuted for their faith. This is the moment, now is the time and America will support these people in their hour of need." -VP Mike Pence

[CharismaNews.com] It may be the biggest step forward in our genocide campaign since the U.S. officially recognized the "genocide against ... Christians." The U.S. government has just secured a major concession from the United Nations allowing relief aid to be delivered directly to Christians and other religious minority victims of genocide in Iraq-something we have been aggressively advocating for since we began our genocide campaign.
