1. Sen. Ron Johnson: FBI Informant Says 'Secret Society' Held Secret Meetings Off-Site - PJ Media

An FBI informant has apparently informed Congress that a secret society at the FBI was holding secret meetings off-site after the election of Donald Trump. On Special Report with Bret Baier Tuesday evening, Senator Ron Johnson (R-Wisc.) called it "corruption of the highest levels of the FBI." This comes after text messages between FBI counterintelligence agent Peter Strzok and senior FBI lawyer Lisa Page, his paramour, revealed that a "secret society" of officials within the FBI met the day after the election of Donald J. Trump to plot against the president-elect.

"By the way," he added. "Robert Mueller used to run the FBI. He is in no position to do an investigation over this kind of misconduct." Johnson said the controversies surrounding the FBI have reached the point at which a second special counsel is warranted. "So I think at this point in time we probably should be looking at a special counsel to undertake this investigation -- but Congress is going to have to continue to dig," he said. "When you see this kind of bias and corruption in the FBI you have to ask the question, are there similar individuals highly biased -- political operatives burrowed into the Department of Justice as well. Does Attorney General Sessions really have a department he can rely on and trust as well?" he asked. (Read more)

BREAKING: Hannity: DOJ has started recovering missing FBI texts, DOJ sources say - Fox News

Fox News' Sean Hannity said Wednesday night on "Hannity" that the Justice Department has started recovering some of the missing texts between FBI officials Peter Strzok and Lisa Page, citing DOJ sources.

Federal law enforcement officials had notified congressional committees that a technical glitch affected thousands of FBI cellphones between Dec. 14, 2016 and May 17, 2017. This meant that 5 months' worth of texts would be missing from Strzok and Page, both of whom are under scrutiny after it was revealed that the former members of special counsel Robert Mueller's team exchanged anti-Trump texts during the 2016 presidential campaign.

Hannity said sources at the DOJ told him they have begun to recover some of the texts from that time period. Specific content from those texts has not been released. .

The five-month stretch of missing messages covers a period of time that includes President Donald Trump's inauguration, the firings of National Security Adviser Michael Flynn and FBI Director James Comey and the standing-up of former FBI Director Mueller as special counsel to investigate alleged Trump campaign collusion with Russian officials during the 2016 election. 3. Michael Goodwin: Evidence suggests a massive scandal is brewing at the FBI - Fox News

. . . each day brings credible reports suggesting there is a massive scandal involving the top ranks of America's premier law enforcement agency. The reports, which feature talk among agents of a "secret society" and suddenly missing text messages, point to the existence both of a cabal dedicated to defeating Donald Trump in 2016 and of a plan to let Hillary Clinton skate free in the classified email probe.

If either one is true - and I believe both probably are - it would mean FBI leaders betrayed the nation by abusing their powers in a bid to pick the president. (Read more)

4. BOMBSHELL: Informant Tells Congress There Really Was A 'Secret Society' At FBI - Daily Wire

On Tuesday, Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI), speaking to Fox News' Brett Baier, revealed a stunning new piece of evidence that is likely to skyrocket the investigation of corruption in the FBI to new levels. Johnson told Baier that Congress has access to an informant who has alleged that a "secret society" did actually exist at the Justice Department. That could dovetail with the "secret society" referenced in texts between FBI agent Peter Strzok and FBI lawyer Lisa Page which are under investigation by the Justice Department.

Johnson stated: "What this is all about is further evidence of corruption, more than bias, but corruption at the highest levels of the FBI. And that 'secret society?' We have an informant that's talking about a group, they were holding secret meetings off-site. There is so much smoke here; there is so much suspicion -"

Baier interrupted: "Let's stop there. A secret society. Secret meetings off-site of the Justice Department?"

Johnson: "Correct."

Baier: "And you have an informant saying that?"

Johnson: "Yes." (Read more)

5. Sessions Has No Choice But To Appoint A Special Counsel To Investigate DOJ, FBI - The Federalist

It is long past time for Attorney General Jeff Sessions to appoint a special counsel to investigate the possibility of widespread and systematic corruption, obstruction, leaking, and collusion within America's law enforcement and intelligence agencies. The leadership of the FBI and Department of Justice have made clear, through their ongoing obstruction of congressional investigations and oversight, that these agencies simply can not be trusted to investigate or police themselves.

Robert S. Mueller III was appointed as a special counsel to make sure that any investigation into alleged collusion between Russia and the Trump campaign was independent and impartial. In the same way, it is necessary for an independent special counsel to investigate alleged corruption at the FBI and Department of Justice, so the American public can once again be assured that the federal law enforcement agencies are in fact working to keep America safer rather than focused on getting revenge against political enemies. (Read more)

- Father, we pray Attorney General Sessions will have great wisdom as he decides to appoint a special counsel. Help him choose someone of great integrity, completely outside the Washington, DC bubble.

- Brood of vipers! How can you speak good things when you are evil? For the mouth speaks from the overflow of the heart. (Matthew 12:34)

6. Report: Attorney General Jeff Sessions Wants McCabe Gone at FBI, but Director Wray Is Resisting - PJ Media

Attorney General Jeff Sessions wants to clean house at the FBI, but his efforts appear to have been resisted, Axios revealed Tuesday. For many months, Sessions has been quietly urging FBI Director Christopher Wray to make "a fresh start" by replacing his top lieutenants, including Deputy Director Andrew McCabe, administration sources say. According to multiple reports, McCabe "is expected to retire after he becomes eligible for his pension [in] early [2018]," but no one knows for sure what his actual plans are. President Trump and other Republicans have identified McCabe as one of the chief troublemakers in the FBI.

Meanwhile, James Rybicki, chief of staff of former FBI Director James Comey and current FBI Director Christopher Wray, quit on Tuesday. Rybicki, who served in the same position under former FBI Director James Comey, had come under scrutiny from Republicans in recent months about his role in the Hillary Clinton email investigation. Wray said he has tapped attorney Zachary Harmon to replace Rybicki. (Read more)

7. DOJ conceals how much Mueller spending on Trump probe - WND

The Department of Justice has refused to disclose how much tax money special counsel Robert Mueller is spending, further undermining public confidence in his probe of allegations the Trump campaign colluded with Russia during the 2016 presidential election. The concealment of the budget was confirmed in a letter from the Department of Justice to Washington watchdog Judicial Watch. "A search has been conducted in the Special Counsel's Office and seven pages were located that contain records responsive to your client's request. We have determined that this material should be withheld in full because it is protected from disclosure under the [Freedom of Information Act]," the Justice Department said.

Judicial Watch explained it is trying to get the information about the investigation into the "surveillance, unmasking and illegal leaking targeting President Trump and his associates during the FBI's investigation of potential Russian involvement in the 2016 presidential election. Special Counsel Mueller's operation is not above the law," said Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton. "The American people have a right to know how much taxpayer money is planned for his massive investigation. Judicial Watch said the Justice Department "asserts the Mueller budget information cannot be released because its release could interfere with 'law enforcement proceedings' and the material is protected from disclosure by the 'deliberative process privilege.'" The government's response came after Judicial Watch filed a lawsuit because the DOJ refused to provide the information. (Read more)

8. Did Mueller Help Cover Up Connections Between Saudis And 9/11? - Daily Caller

Special counsel Robert Mueller may have helped cover up connections between a Saudi family and the 9/11 terror attacks, according to Tuesday report from conservative watchdog group Judicial Watch. Court documents obtained by Judicial Watch show that as FBI director, Mueller was "likely involved" in releasing deceptive agency statements to cover up a connection between a Saudi Arabian family living in Florida and the 9/11 hijackers. The statements were tailored to discredit a 2011 story exposing an FBI investigation into the family, who lived in Sarasota, Fla. The investigation was also withheld from Congress, according to Judicial Watch.

The FBI investigation into the Saudis came when news stories found that they had abruptly left the country two weeks before 9/11, reportedly leaving behind their cars, furniture, clothes, and other personal items. "Though the recently filed court documents reveal Mueller received a briefing about the Sarasota Saudi investigation, the FBI continued to publicly deny it existed and it appears that the lies were approved by Mueller," Judicial Watch wrote. "Not surprisingly, he didn't respond to questions about this new discovery emailed to his office by the news organization that uncovered it." (Read more)

9. Trump Says He Is Willing to Speak Under Oath to Mueller - New York Times

President Trump said on Wednesday that he was willing and eager to be interviewed by Robert S. Mueller III, the special counsel investigating Russia's interference in the 2016 presidential campaign, insisting that he has done nothing wrong.

"I'm looking forward to it, actually," Mr. Trump said of talking to Mr. Mueller, answering months of speculation over whether he was willing to submit to questions from the special counsel, who is also believed to be looking into whether the Trump campaign aided Moscow's effort and whether the president sought to thwart the inquiry itself.

"Here's the story, just so you understand," Mr. Trump said during an impromptu question-and-answer session with reporters in the West Wing. "There's been no collusion whatsoever. There's no obstruction whatsoever, and I'm looking forward to it." (Read more)

1. Israeli researchers decipher Dead Sea Scroll - World Israel News

For over a year, Dr. Eshbal Ratson and Prof. Jonathan Ben-Dov of the Department of Bible Studies in the University of Haifa labored to piece together and translate 60 fragments of one of the last unpublished scrolls to be found in the Qumran caves near the Dead Sea in the 1940s and 1950s.

"The reward for their hard work is fresh insight into the unique 364-day calendar used by the members of the Judean Desert sect, including the discovery for the first time of the name given by the sect to the special days marking the transitions between the four seasons," the university said in a statement on Sunday.

The calendar used by the secretive Qumran community that lived ascetically out in the desert was "perfect" according to Ratson and Ben-Dov, as "special occasions always fall on the same day," unlike the lunar calendar used by the vast majority of the Jewish people, then and now. This "appears to have embodied the beliefs of the members of this community regarding perfection and holiness," the researchers said in a joint statement.

1. Breaking! Brownback wins confirmation for Trump post as Pence breaks deadlock - KansasCity.com

Kansas Gov. Sam Brownback's old friend, Vice President Mike Pence, cast two tie-breaking votes Wednesday to give the Kansas Republican a ticket back to Washington after a year of strife in Topeka.

Six months after he was first nominated, the U.S. Senate voted 50-49 to confirm Brownback as ambassador at-large for international religious freedom, ending a period of uncertainty in Topeka about who was holding the reins of state government.

"I'm glad to have the vice president in my corner," Brownback told reporters seconds after Pence broke the tie on the initial vote.

A few hours later, Pence again arrived to rescue Brownback's nomination from the opposition of Senate Democrats and the absence of two Republicans. (Read more)

- Father, we thank You for this vote today in the Senate chamber, and we ask that You grace our new ambassador at-large for international religious freedom, Sam Brownback, with Your wisdom as he moves into his new role. We thank You, Lord, for placing a man into this position who adheres to Your biblical values in all he says and does. In Your name, amen.

- "Let every thing that hath breath praise the Lord. Praise ye the Lord." (Psalm 150:6)

2. Emboldened conservatives press Ryan to bring hard-right immigration bill to floor - The Hill

Emboldened by what they believe was a victory in the three-day government shutdown, House conservatives are raising the pressure on Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) to bring a tough border enforcement bill to the floor. The bill - dubbed the Securing America's Future Act - would be dead on arrival in the Senate. But conservatives say it would lay down a marker and a strong negotiating position for House Republicans as the two parties try to strike a deal to protect from deportation 700,000 recipients of the Obama-era DACA program, which protected certain immigrants brought to the U.S. illegally as children, before the March 5 deadline imposed by Trump.

The legislation would provide DACA recipients with a temporary, three-year legal status that could be renewed indefinitely, but not a path to citizenship, as outlined in a plan pitched by Sens. Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) and Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.). The House measure would authorize $30 billion to build a border wall and invest in other border security measures, end family-based immigration and eliminate the diversity visa lottery program - all of which were pillars outlined at a White House meeting earlier this month. (Read more)

- Father, we pray the Securing America's Future Act will receive overwhelming support in the House and assist the Senate in passing a comprehensive immigration reform package.

- And then I will declare to them, 'I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!' (Matthew 7:23)

3. Trump Rescues Pro-Life Docs and Nurses - RealClear Life

Last Thursday, the Trump administration came to the rescue of pro-life nurses and doctors who accuse hospital employers of pressuring them to perform abortions against their religion. A new Conscience and Religious Freedom office within the Department of Health and Human Services will hear complaints from anti-abortion medical personnel who claim they're getting fired or retaliated against for their beliefs.

Abortion rights groups are protesting that this Trump administration initiative amounts to a frontal assault on a woman's right to choose. Abortion rights advocates say doctors and nurses who don't want to perform abortions should go into another line of work. That's ridiculous. President Trump's initiative is intended to stop what Cardinal Timothy Dolan calls the "increasing and fierce attack on conscience rights" in medicine. This is not about access to abortion. In New York, for example, abortions are fully accessible. Yet activists want to banish anti-abortion doctors and nurses from their life's work just to ensure a woman never has to hear the words, "I don't do abortions." Pro-life isn't a fringe position. It's nearly half the nation, according to Gallup and Marist polls. (Read more)

- Father, we pray this action will encourage doctors and nurses to be more assertive in expressing their conscience rights.

- Keep your servant from deliberate sins! Don't let them control me. Then I will be free of guilt and innocent of great sin. (Psalm 19:13)

4. Justice Department threatens to subpoena 23 jurisdictions over sanctuary city policies - Washington Examiner

The Department of Justice on Wednesday warned 23 jurisdictions around the country that they must turn over documents showing they are not acting as sanctuary cities or counties, or face a subpoena for those documents. According to letters sent out by the department, officials are looking for city or county codes and statutes, or city council declarations, showing they are in compliance with federal law that requires local officials to cooperate with the federal government on immigration matters. The Justice Department under Attorney General Jeff Sessions has made it clear that violating the law means jurisdictions could be stripped of federal grants, specifically those from the Byrne JAG grant program.

The Justice Department official noted that the Obama administration made an obvious condition that jurisdictions applying for Byrne JAG grants knew they would have to prove compliance with the law as a condition for receiving the funds. The law in question - 8 USC § 1373, which passed as part of the Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act in 1996 - prohibits local and state governments from enacting laws or policies that limit communication with Immigration and Customs Enforcement Customs and Border Protection about "information regarding the immigration or citizenship status." The Justice Department says jurisdictions are skirting around Section 1373 and thus releasing illegal immigrants with a potential violent criminal history back into the public. Click link to see the jurisdictions that received the letters. (Read more)

- Father, we pray a return to law and order in our nation. In Your mercy, deliver us from the plan of the evil one for our nation.

- All who fear the Lord will hate evil. Therefore, I hate pride and arrogance, corruption and perverse speech. (Proverbs 8:13)

5. Swing State Florida Could Add More Than One Million Felons To Voting Rolls - Daily Caller

More than one million convicted felons in the swing state of Florida could receive the right to vote if a ballot measure amending Florida's constitution passes this November. A petition in support of the measure recently surpassed the 766,200 signatures needed to get it on the ballot. If passed, the measure would restore "the voting rights of Floridians with felony convictions after they complete all terms of their sentence including parole or probation." It would not apply to those convicted of murder or sexual offenses. If passed, the ballot measure could have a significant impact on election outcomes in the state.

President Donald Trump beat Hillary Clinton in Florida by 112,911 votes in the 2016 election. That's less than one tenth of the number of felons who would rejoin voting rolls if the measure passes. Just under 1.5 million Floridians were barred from voting in the 2016 election due to felony convictions, according to The Sentencing Project. Left-wing blog Think Progress, which first reported that the petition had garnered enough signatures, noted that "research shows that people with criminal convictions tend to vote for Democratic candidates." (Read more)

- Father, we pray all eligible voters will take their right to vote seriously, informing themselves for every ballot presented to them.

- Today I have given you the choice between life and death, between blessings and curses. Now I call on heaven and earth to witness the choice you make. Oh, that you would choose life, so that you and your descendants might live! (Deuteronomy 30:19)

6. This Supreme Court Case Could Safeguard the Integrity of Our Elections - Daily Signal

Earlier this month, the Supreme Court heard arguments in Husted v. A. Philip Randolph Institute, a case out of Ohio involving the integrity of elections. More specifically, at issue is Ohio's practice of keeping its voter registration rolls "clean" and up to date through an elaborate six-year-plus process intended to remove the names of voters who have died or moved, either within the state or out of state, as well as duplicate registrations.

Democrats and their liberal interest-group allies, who apparently prefer "dirty" and outdated voter rolls, are seeking to prevent Ohio from continuing this practice. They contend that Ohio's procedure violates the 1993 federal National Voter Registration Act, better known as the "motor voter" law, which prohibits the government from canceling registrations solely for not voting. Ohio, represented by Secretary of State Jon Husted, denies that that's what's happening in the Buckeye State. Names are not removed arbitrarily, much less solely for the act of not voting, but rather only after a lengthy process of attempting to verify continued residence at the same address. (Read more)

- Father, we pray the election officials in Ohio will have favor before the Supreme Court. We pray all election commissions in the United States will institute procedures for the orderly removal of inactive, unresponsive voters.

- The Lord hates both these things: dishonest weights and dishonest measures. (Proverbs 20:10)

7. Atheist Group Targets Ben Carson over 'Secretive' White House Cabinet Bible Study - CBN News

The weekly Bible study attended by members of President Donald Trump's Cabinet is once again under attack, this time from an atheist group. The Freedom From Religion Foundation (FFRF) and Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW) is suing the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), led by Secretary Ben Carson. In July, CBN News broke the news that a number of Cabinet secretaries are meeting weekly to study the Bible and pray together. Since then, the leader of the Bible study, Capitol Ministries founder Ralph Drollinger, has faced a firestorm of personal attacks - despite the fact he's been leading Bible studies for members of the U.S. House and Senate for years. Drollinger responded on Facebook, saying, "Rather than sue, the FFRF can simply go to www.capmin.org and check out copies of the Bible studies I write and teach the Cabinet, Senate and House members every week. There's nothing secret to this - and all related Bible study expenses are paid by Capitol Ministries, a 501(c)3 organization."

Cabinet secretaries who attend the Capitol Ministries Bible Study include Attorney General Jeff Sessions, CIA Director Mike Pompeo, Education Secretary Betsy DeVos, HUD Secretary Ben Carson and Energy Secretary Rick Perry. These officials have long been on FFRF's radar. The group objected to their confirmations due to their "inability to keep their personal religion separate from their public office." FFRF and CREW have also filed FOIA requests seeking information about the amount of time Secretary Carson's wife and son spend with him while he's working. (Read more)

- Father, help Dr. Carson, the other cabinet members and Mr. Drollinger engage this critical harassment with grace and confidence.

- Powerful people harass me without cause, but my heart trembles only at your word. (Psalm 119:161)

8. 'It's Only Prayers That Will Get Us Through': Kentucky Community Responds to Deadly School Shooting - CBN

Tuesday night local churches held prayer vigils, and students said they're praying for their fellow classmate-turned-shooter. "I don't know anything about him. I know he must have been going through a tough time," Kennadi Spraggs said. "I know he needs our prayers and his family needs our prayers because it's only prayers that will get us through it. And they need it just as much as anyone else." (Read more)

- Father, tonight we grieve once again with those who grieve. We ask that You intervene by a divine act of Grace, to stop these horrible school shootings, in Your Name, amen.

- "Ah, Sovereign LORD, you have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and outstretched arm. Nothing is too hard for you." (Jeremiah 32:17)

9. Pakistan Warns Afghan War Will Deteriorate Further if U.S. Abandons Partnership - Free Beacon

The Pakistani ambassador to the United States on Monday cautioned the United States against abandoning its longstanding partnership with Islamabad amid increasingly strained relations, warning a break in cooperation would harm efforts to secure peace in Afghanistan. Aizaz Ahmad Chaudhry, who previously served as Pakistan's foreign secretary, rejected U.S. criticism of the country's efforts to combat terrorism and said his government would no longer accept being made a "scapegoat" for American failures in Afghanistan.

Officials in Washington and Kabul have long held that Pakistan is playing a double game in Afghanistan given the country's ties to the Taliban and its Haqqani network, which is responsible for several large-scale attacks on Afghan cities. Tensions came to a head earlier this month when the Trump administration announced the suspension of up to $2 billion in U.S. security aid, days after President Donald Trump took to Twitter to accuse Pakistan of giving the United States "nothing but lies and deceit" and providing "safe haven to the terrorists we hunt in Afghanistan." (Read more)

- Father, we pray the Pakistani government will understand the United States will no longer give them aid without corresponding results.

- But the Lord is with me like a dread champion; therefore my persecutors will stumble and not prevail. They will be utterly ashamed, because they have failed, with an everlasting disgrace that will not be forgotten. (Jeremiah 20:11)

10. Three aid workers killed in Afghanistan: officials - Reuters

Three Afghan aid workers employed by Catholic Relief Services were gunned down and killed in central Afghanistan, officials said on Tuesday.

The attack happened on Monday near the capital city of Ghor province, an area once relatively peaceful but now home to active Taliban and Islamic State militants.

"We are shocked and heartbroken over the loss of our colleagues in Afghanistan," CRS spokeswoman Megan Gilbert said in a statement. "Our staff dedicate their lives to helping others, and we will always be grateful for their tremendous service to people in need." (Read more)

- Father God, we ask that You place Your shield of protection over all aid workers in this part of the world. May these who have died now be honored for the work they were doing among the needy on earth. In Your Name, amen.

- "Give to everyone what you owe them:. . . if honor, then honor." (Romans 13:7)

A conspiracy to end the presidency

News stories in recent days have revealed a pattern: There appears to be a legitimate conspiracy to end the presidency of Donald Trump, even before it started. The Democrat-motivated "Special Counsel" to investigate whether Trump and the Russians conspired to defeat the scandal-tainted Democratic Party candidate Hillary Clinton could have been just part of the conspiracy by the previous administration and the Clinton campaign to defeat Trump. The collusion with Russia is actually evidenced by the Clintons and a pay-for-influence scheme over US uranium transfers to Russia. The use of the secret court FISA by the ex "president" to spy on Americans, especially Trump, is also part of the conspiracy.

Information in the past week indicates that the ex "president," his Attorney General, Justice Department, the FBI, and the Clintons were all working schemes at the same time to derail Trump before he even got started. For example, smoking gun electronic messages, via email or text, "accidentally" between anti-Trump/pro Clinton FBI officials Peter Strzok and his mistress Lisa Page have been. House Homeland Cybersecurity Chairman Rep. John Ratcliffe (R-TX) tweeted that among thousands of FBI texts that he reviewed, "revealed manifest bias" against Trump and referenced a "secret society" of FBI officials that met the day after the election to plot against the newly-elected President.

Another aspect of the FBI's and Department of Justice possible collusion comes in the act of exonerating candidate Hillary Clinton of wrong-doing regarding her exposure of classified information over unsecured private computers-some of which ended up on her assistant Huma Abedin's sex-soliciting husband's computer which aided in convicting him of soliciting a minor. Ratcliffe told FOX News that text messages indicate then FBI Director James Comey and Attorney General Loretta Lynch were coordinating the decision to exonerate Clinton in May, well ahead of the July 5, 2016 news conference. Lynch met with Clinton's former president husband Bill on the Phoenix airport tarmac for 20 minutes on June 26, just 10 days before Comey cleared Hillary Clinton.

Congressmen Bob Goodlatte (R-VA), Trey Gowdy (R-SC), and Devin Nunes (R-CA) said in a statement concerning the 384 pages of new text messages between top FBI officials that "the contents of these text messages between top FBI officials are extremely troubling" as well as "the evident bias exhibited by those in charge of the investigation." It appears that it could be the Democratic Party that colluded to illegally influence the elections, and they included the Russians in their scheme, who also may have willingly participated. These events, if proven true, could represent a Constitutional crisis of an attempted coup with the complicity participation of the news media, which supported the false narrative. Let us pray that the words of Christ in Luke 8:17 prevail over this grave situation, "For nothing is secret, that not be made manifest."

Have a Blessed and Powerful Day!

Let us labor for the Master from the dawn till setting sun, Let us talk of all His wondrous love and care; Then when all of life is over, and our work on earth is done, And the roll is called up yonder, I'll be there. Refrain

Words & Music: James M. Black, 1893

About the Hymn:

Black, a Methodist Sunday school teacher in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, was calling roll one day for a youth meeting. Young Bessie, daughter of a drunkard, did not show up, and he was disappointed at her failure to appear. Black made a comment to the effect, "Well, I trust when the roll is called up yonder, she'll be there." He tried to respond with an appropriate song, but could not find one in his song book:

This lack of a fitting song caused me both sorrow and disappointment. An inner voice seemed to say, "Why don't you write one?" I put away the thought. As I opened the gate on my way home, the same thought came again so strongly that tears filled my eyes. I entered the house and sat down at the piano. The words came to me effortlessly . . .The tune came the same way-I dared not change a single note or word.
This song was sung in the Academy award winning movie Sergeant York (1941).

'Ring of Fire' fury strikes Alaska, Philippines, Japan

The volatile "Ring of Fire" seismic fault system contributed to a deluge of calamities Tuesday, encompassing the large earthquake off the coast of Alaska that triggered tsunami alerts across the U.S. West Coast and volcanic eruptions thousands of miles away in Japan and the Philippines.

More than half the world's active volcanoes located above ground are in this ring, according to the United States Geological Survey. The region is the location of most of Earth's subduction zones, where oceanic plates slide under the lighter continental plates. Earthquakes tend to happen when those plates scrape or subside underneath each other, and when that happens at sea it can spawn tsunamis.

. . . Twelve people, including eight soldiers, skiing on the slopes of a volcano in central Japan were injured Tuesday by flying rocks during a sudden eruption of Mount Kusatsu-Shirane that also triggered an avalanche officials said. One soldier later died from his injuries.
The Philippines' most active volcano erupted three more times on Tuesday, which happened one day after officials raised Mount Mayon's alert level to four on a scale of five. The eruptions sent lava fountains gushing up to 2,300 feet above Mayon's crater and ash plumes rose up to 1.9 miles Monday night.

"We couldn't sleep last night because of the loud rumblings. It sounded like an airplane that's about to land," Quintin Velardo, a 59-year-old farmer, told the AP at an evacuation center in nearby Legazpi city where he took his wife, children and grandchildren on Tuesday. More than 56,000 villagers have fled to evacuation centers so far as the eruptions become increasingly dangerous. The volcano last erupted in 2014, according to Reuters. (Fox News) Read more

ESPN Producer Reveals the Powerful Biblical Truth
That Led Him to Forgive His Alcoholic Dad

[CBN News/Faithwire.com] -Forgiveness can be hard, especially when a loved one has wronged us. But, as Christians, we're commanded to offer grace to those who have hurt us . . . no matter what.
Of course, this is often easier said than done, as evidence in stories shared by people like former ESPN producer Jason Romano. Romano's parents divorced when he was just 6 years old, though he said his dad was "always around."

Eventually, though, his dad developed a problem with alcoholism - and, over the years, Romano said that it sparked scores of problems. He shares these struggles in his new book, "Live to Forgive: Moving Forward When Those We Love Hurt Us." (Read more)

About CHPP

About Capitol Hill Prayer Partners

Our Mission Statement

Capitol Hill Prayer Partners (CHPP) is a ministry which is positioned on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., helping members of the Body of Christ to "pray for those in authority over us" in our federal government. Our primary purpose is to offer intercession on site for the members of Congress and their staffs each day that the Senate and the House of Representatives are in session; and our chief prayer focus is that "God's will be done in earth, as it is in heaven." [Matthew 6:10].

Because Jesus Christ has shed His blood for all, we, too, pray for ALL, in a nonpartisan manner. Also, because the scriptures indicate that "the effectual, fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much" (James 4:17), we are confident that fervent prayer, offered in the halls of the highest chambers of government in our land, can avail much for America. Capitol Hill Prayer Partners welcomes those who feel called to join us, engaging in this strategic work of intercession for our nation: "For there is no power but of God; the powers that be are ordained of God." [Romans 13:1]
Friends may participate by receiving our daily prayer alerts. You may contact us at chpp1994@gmail.com for more information. CHPP is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt ministry. Thank you and God bless you!
