Introduction:

A Call to Fast: Day Three

Tonight, as we draw near to the end of our call to three days of prayer, fasting and repentance at midnight tonight, we want to thank all of you who have participated in this prayer vigil with us.

Some have been able to participate in full measure to the fast that God has called you to do; and others have perhaps had to make small adjustments along the way. If you are one of those (as I am), please know that our God is not a harsh judge, but is instead a God of mercy, who is well-pleased with even the intention of our heart to walk in obedience to His call in our lives.

And, as we continue to monitor the news out of Capitol Hill and the White House, it is clear that we are not out of the woods yet. Instead, the current legislation, which was signed into law by the President late last night, grants only a three - week extension of federal funding. Hence, our next "deadline" to see all issues resolved with this year's budget is now due to fall on Thursday, February 8th.
Our job is not over, and the task yet lies ahead. . .
Beyond these headlines, however, is the fact of a deeper work, if you will: "Deep calling unto deep" (Psalm 42:7) as the Bridegroom is calling out to His Bride . . . to come into an even deeper relationship of intimacy with Him and to find stability in His presence in these perilous times.
May we each be released after this evening to "go forth" with a new determination to embrace a lifestyle of prayer, of fasting, and of repentance in anticipation of His soon coming. May we be led by His Spirit in all we say and do, and may we each know the precious touch of the Master's Hand upon our lives, now and always, amen.
In His Grace,

Sara Ballenger

A Blessing in Disguise:

Scriptures to Decree Against the Shutdown

[Excerpt]

Dear Sara,

The government shut down and the call to fast may be a blessing in disguise:

[ ]MAT 6:6 "But you, when you pray, go into your inner room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in secret, and your Father who sees in secret will repay you.

[ ]MAT 25:10 "And while they were going away to make the purchase, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the wedding feast; and the door was shut.

[ ]JOH 20:19 When therefore it was evening, on that day, the first day of the week, and when the doors were shut where the disciples were, for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in their midst, and *said to them, "Peace be with you."

Shut down . . . slow down . . . sit down . . . lie down. . .

Does God want gates of evil shut in our government shut?

[ ]MAL 1:10 "Oh that there were one among you who would shut the gates, that you might not uselessly kindle fire on My altar! I am not pleased with you," says the Lord of hosts, "nor will I accept an offering from you."

[ ]GAL 4:17 They eagerly seek you, not commendably, but they wish to shut you out, in order that you may seek them.

Thank you, Diane!

"We Are Called into His Courts"

Father God, we align with your courts of heaven and your docket for our One Nation Under God. We blow the trumpet in Zion, call a sacred assembly, and we place ourselves on the altar. We call forth the Gideons, Esthers, Deborahs and Daniels. May the fire on our altars never go out. Father God, make USA a house of prayer. Lord, have mercy on your remnant for Zion's sake. Thank you, Lord, that you are a covenant-keeping God. We align with and bless Israel. We speak peace to Jerusalem. In Jesus Name.

"Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: May they prosper who love you." (Ps. 122:6)

2"I am zealous for Zion with great zeal; with great fervor I am zealous for her." 3Thus says the LORD, "I will return to Zion, and dwell in the midst of Jerusalem. Jerusalem shall be called the City of Truth, the Mountain of the LORD of hosts, the Holy Mountain." (Zech. 8:2-3)
Armor on, shields up. If God be for you, who can be against you?

I am for you, says Your God!

Respectfully,

A clarion call is being sounded from Heaven for God's people to return to these "ancient paths . . ."

Dear Sarah, Maureen, and Pastor Ioan,

Abundant blessings upon each of you for exhorting us to this time of fasting and prayer for our nation! As I read your emails concerning this matter a couple of days ago, this is the word I received from Abba:

"Listen to Me in silence, O coastlands; let the peoples renew their strength; let them approach, then let them speak; let us together draw near for judgment." (Isaiah 41:1)

"Judgment" here is the Hebrew misphat, first mentioned in relation to Abraham:

"For I have chosen him, that he may command his children and his household after him to keep the way of the LORD by doing righteousness and justice [misphat] so that the LORD may bring to Abraham what he has promised him." (Gen. 18:19)

It is also used in connection with the office of the High Priest:

"So Aaron shall bear the names of the sons of Israel in the breastpiece of judgment [mishpat] on his heart, when he goes into the Holy Place, to bring them to regular remembrance before the LORD." (Exodus 28:29)

. . . Many of us have all been crying out to Abba to know what He is speaking concerning the 2017 hurricanes, wildfires, and recent extreme snowstorms and cold. Perhaps now His message is coming into focus. Today, as you well know, January 22, is the 45th anniversary of America legalizing the death of the unborn. This past Friday, the 45th President of the United States of America addressed the 45th March for Life. I was prompted to read again Isaiah 45, concerning Abba's promises for Cyrus [to whom many have compared President Trump]. There is no doubt in my mind that Abba will give us favor to overturn Roe V Wade, "if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves..."

But, real repentance goes far beyond Roe V Wade. In addition to repenting for this abomination, we have to go back to the beginning and repent for the sin of Adam and Eve and everyone who has since lived who thought they knew better than God. We have to repent for the very rebellion of mankind. To come into true repentance and true obedience, we have to humble ourselves as little children and admit that despite the large numbers of churches and Christians in our nation, we are very, very sick, and are, in fact, teetering on the brink of destruction--much of it our own doing.

". . . O LORD, my strength and my stronghold, my refuge in the day of trouble, to you shall the nations come from the ends of the earth and say: "Our fathers have inherited nothing but lies, worthless things in which there is no profit." (Jer. 16:19)

A clarion call is being sounded from Heaven for God's people to return to these "ancient paths," the holy days and holy ways of Yahweh. World-wide, people are responding in droves, leaving behind the non-biblical [and non-profitable] traditions of men. May America truly hear and respond today to the sound of the shofar!

Again, thank you for your faithfulness and obedience to exhort us to prayer and fasting.

Blessings and shalom,
Cathy in North Carolina

Dear Sara,

Thank you SO MUCH for motivating me to do some fasting . . . needed the extra nudge . . .

Prayer is ongoing . . . and helped so much by knowing there are MANY of us standing together before our Great God . . . crying out in repentance, asking His Mercy and Forgiveness, and seeking the 'what next and how' to do what He shows us . . .

Only the Lord God can help us - in governmental affairs, in The Church, and in our personal lives - to follow HIM . . . not the world's system or ways. He alone knows what plans He has for us if we will turn from our wicked ways and seek His face in all . . .

OUR GOD, OUR HELP IN AGES PAST

1. O God, our help in ages past, Our hope for years to come,
Our shelter from the stormy blast, And our eternal home.
2. O God, our help in ages past, Our hope for years to come,
Be Thou our guard while troubles last, And our eternal home.
First & last stanzas of such a marvelous hymn!! Here's the link for all stanzas:

Dear Sara,

Thank you for your call to repentance!

This call to a 3-day fast came toward the end of a 21-Day Fast/Prayer Observance in Fresno/Clovis, California. The pastors in our area joined together in calling the community to fast & pray together every night from Jan. 8 to Jan. 28 meeting at a different church each night to pray! The theme is UNITY and hundreds are participating each night. And we join your theme of repentance as well! The Holy Spirit has encouraged me to "deny yourself, and take up your cross, and follow Me." (Matthew 16:24)

May God get the Glory,
Cheri in California
