1. 'We'll continue to be a beacon of light and freedom in a dark region' - Israel Hayom

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu issued a Rosh Hashanah greeting to the Israeli and Jewish people Friday, in which he paid tribute to late former President Shimon Peres. For the first time since the modern State of Israel was established in 1948, this will be the first year the country will mark the High Holidays without Peres.

"This year, Rosh Hashanah falls just a few days after a sad day. Shimon Peres, Israel's ninth president, has just passed away. Shimon was a man of vision and optimism. And I think Shimon would want us to celebrate Rosh Hashanah this year by looking back with pride and looking forward with hope," Netanyahu said.

"Our democracy is thriving. Our economy is growing. Our relations around the world are getting stronger. As Shimon was, I am extremely hopeful about our future. We'll continue expanding opportunity for all our citizens. We'll continue to be a beacon of light and freedom in a dark and repressive region. (Read more)

2. Shaked: Abbas is inciting violence and hatred - Israel National News

Justice Minister Ayelet Shaked (Jewish Home) criticized those who shook hands with President of the Palestinian Authority Mahmoud Abbas, including Prime Minister Netanyahu.

"I'm not excited about him," she said in an interview with Army Radio, "you have to understand that he incites violence and hatred, we can't forget that." She added that she didn't know what the Prime Minister and his wife were supposed to do in that situation but that she would not have shaken Abbas' hand. (Read more)

3. 'I don't get why people lined up to shake Abbas's hand' - Israel National News

Jewish Home chairman Naftali Bennett was surprised to see so many senior Israeli officials standing in line to shake hands with Palestinian Authority (PA) chairman Mahmoud Abbas at the funeral of Shimon Peres.

"I could not understand why Israelis stood in line to shake hands with Abbas, who encourages the murder of Israelis and who pays pensions to the families of terrorist murderers. Let him stop funerals before coming to a funeral," wrote Bennett.

Abbas, who asked and received Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu's permission to attend Peres's funeral, was seen shaking hands with both Netanyahu and President Reuven Rivlin. (Read more)

4. IS-linked East Jerusalem men 'planned terror attacks on gov't offices' in capital, TLV - Times of Israel

A group of Palestinians operating out of East Jerusalem's Shuafat refugee camp are suspected of attempting to join Islamic State and carry out a series of attacks across Israel for the terror group, Israeli officials said Sunday.

Shin Bet security service agents, along with police officers, uncovered and broke up the Islamic State cell over a month ago, officials said as charges were filed against six suspects. According to the charges, four of the six men planned to carry out attacks across the country, but "with an emphasis on Jerusalem." (Read more)

5. Lapid opens wide lead over Netanyahu in latest poll - Israel National News

Thirty-three percent of Israelis approve of Binyamin Netanyahu's service as Prime Minister, a new Panels Politics poll indicates, while 59% of Israelis disapprove of Mr. Netanyahu.

According to the poll, published Sunday morning by Maariv, Prime Minister Netanyahu still retains leads over possible challengers to the premiership - but his Likud party would nevertheless likely lose to former Finance Minister Yair Lapid's Yesh Atid party. When given the choice of Netanyahu or a series of possible challengers, Netanyahu remains the favorite - though in some cases by narrow margins. (Read more)

8. At least 20 Arab council heads pay respects to Peres family - Times of Israel

Two days after 13 Joint List MKs boycott funeral, community leaders hail late president as great man, call on Arab lawmakers to make shiva call.

A delegation of at least 20 Israeli-Arab council heads arrived at the Peres Center for Peace in Jaffa on Sunday to pay a shiva call to the family of the late Shimon Peres, two days after his funeral in Jerusalem was boycotted by the 13-member Joint (Arab) List party, which claims to represent Israel's Arab community.

The Joint List party announced Thursday that its members would not participate in the funeral, citing a "complicated" history.

"We came here in the name of the Arab community and in the name of all of the Israeli-Arab regional councils to participate in the mourning of Shimon Peres and to express our condolences to the family, may his memory be a blessing," said Mazen Ghanem, the mayor of Sakhnin and chairman of the Arab Councils Forum, adding that the Joint List's boycott of the funeral did not represent Israeli-Arabs. 1. Hurricane Matthew: 'Life-threatening flash floods and mudslides' expected - CNN

A ferocious hurricane packing 145-mph winds has prompted hundreds of Guantanamo Bay employees to evacuate and threatens to wreak havoc on Haiti and Jamaica. Hurricane Matthew is expected to dump torrential rainfall on Jamaica and Haiti on Sunday evening before making landfall Monday.

"This rainfall will produce life-threatening flash floods and mudslides," the National Weather Service said Sunday. "Preparations to protect life and property should be rushed to completion." (Read more)

- Lord, hurricane Matthew is pouring its rain and winds down on the Caribbean and is threatening Jamaica, Cuba, and Haiti as it moves toward the east coast of the U.S. These areas have seen many hurricanes but now we ask You to send calm to this storm. You calm the seas with Your authority and we take that authority given to us and say to Matthew, "Be still in the name of Elohim." Thank you for hearing our prayers.

- " For He commands and raises the stormy wind, which lifts up the waves of the sea. They mount up to the heavens, They go down again to the depths' their soul melts because of trouble. They reel to and fro, and stagger like a drunken man and are at their wits' end. Then they cry out to the Lord in their trouble, And He brings them out of their distresses. He calms the storm, So that its waves are still. Then they are glad because they are quiet; So He guides them to their desired haven. Oh, that men would give thanks to the Lord for His goodness, And for His wonderful works to the children of men." (Psalm 107:25 -31)

2. Risk of big earthquake on San Andreas fault rises after quake swarm at Salton Sea - LA Times

The rumbling started Monday morning deep under the Salton Sea. A rapid succession of small earthquakes - three measuring above magnitude 4.0 - began rupturing near Bombay Beach, continuing for more than 24 hours. Before the swarm started to fade, more than 200 earthquakes had been recorded.

The temblors were not felt over a very large area, but they have garnered intense interest - and concern - among seismologists. It marked only the third time since earthquake sensors were installed there in 1932 that the area had seen such a swarm, and this one had more earthquakes than the events of 2001 and 2009.

The quakes occurred in one of California's most seismically complex areas. They hit in a seismic zone just south of where the mighty San Andreas fault ends. It is composed of a web of faults that scientists fear could one day wake up the nearby San Andreas from its long slumber. (Read more)

- Father, there is nothing higher than Your power to speak to earthquakes even in the deepest depths of the earth. You know the rumblings under the Salton Sea and all places under the earth where more earthquakes may take place. Nothing can hide from You. We pray for Your mercy in keeping all the earthquakes from erupting. The seismologists can follow the rumblings with man made sensors. But You, O Lord, know all activity above, underneath and on the earth because You are the creator of the world and all things therein.

You have not given us the spirit of fear. We lay the earthquakes at Your feet to do with as You will. Glory to God in the Highest!

- "But Abram said to the king of Sodom, "I have raised my hand to the Lord, God Most High, the Possessor of heaven and earth." (Genesis 14:22)

"Hear my cry, O God; Attend to my prayer. From the end of the earth I will cry to You. When my heart is overwhelmed; Lead me to the rock that is higher than I." (Psalm 61:1-2)

3. Will Weekend Of 'Bombshell' Stories On Clinton, Trump Be Prelude To Bruising Close To White House Race? - Fox News

The 2016 presidential race now appears in full scandal mode -- with accusations this weekend about Donald Trump being a tax dodger and Hillary Clinton being privately indifferent to the millennial voters whose support she needs -- with no end in sight. (Read more)

- Father, for many months now, we have seen this coming. Lord God, we ask for a miracle. Abba Father, would You please reach down from heaven and cause each candidate to move to "higher ground" in the remaining debates and statements while they are on the campaign trail. Abba, we need to hear about their policy statements. Please guide their hearts in this direction, we ask in Your Name, amen and amen.

- "He who rules over men must be just, ruling in the fear of God." (2 Samuel 23:3)

4. "Tens of thousands" of fraudulent Clinton votes found in Ohio warehouse - Christian Times

Election officials in Franklin County, Ohio are reportedly stumped over what one maintenance worker found in a dilapidated downtown Columbus warehouse earlier this week.

According to sources, Randall Prince, a Columbus-area electrical worker, was doing a routine check of his companies wiring and electrical systems when he stumbled across approximately one dozen black, sealed ballot boxes filled with thousands of Franklin County votes for Hillary Clinton and other Democrat candidates.

"No one really goes in this building. It's mainly used for short-term storage by a commercial plumber," Prince said.

So when Prince, who is a Trump supporter, saw several black boxes in an otherwise empty room, he went to investigate. What he found could allegedly be evidence of a massive operation designed to deliver Clinton the crucial swing state. (Read more)

- Lord God Almighty! Talk about fraud! We ask for an immediate and thorough investigation into this matter, and that all false ballots be thrown out before November 8th. Lord God, this is not the America we know and love. Please help us come back to our senses as we come to You, on bended knee, in repentance. In Your Name, amen.

- "But the salvation of the righteous is from the Lord; He is their strength in the time of trouble. And the Lord shall help them and deliver them; He shall deliver them from the wicked, And save them, Because they trust in Him." (Psalm 37:39,40)

5. DHS rushing to 'steal' Americans' sovereignty ahead of election - WND

With the November elections fewer than 40 days away, the Department of Homeland Security is approving as many citizenship applications as it can to try to increase the number of voters. So says an internal memo obtained recently by Senate Republicans.

It comes amid a DHS inspector general report that U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) erroneously granted citizenship to at least 858 illegal immigrants from "special interest countries," meaning countries with connections to terrorism, who had previously been ordered deported. It was later revealed the number was actually more than 1,800 aliens.

Daniel Horowitz, senior editor at Conservative Review and author of the book "Stolen Sovereignty: How to Stop Unelected Judges From Transforming America," says it's a perfect example of a government agency stealing the sovereignty of American citizens. "It is this literal theft I had in mind when I warned in 'Stolen Sovereignty' about the irresponsible moves of the executive and judicial branches in violating the sovereignty of the citizen," Horowitz wrote in a recent column. "Whether it's granting unqualified birthright citizenship, preventing states from asking for identification before granting citizenship to children born here, counting illegals in the census, resettling refugees without the consent of local communities, allowing non-citizens to vote, tolerating fraud in the naturalization process or refusing to deport criminal aliens, the citizens of this country have been disenfranchised time and time again." (Read more)

- Heavenly Father, what a revolting development this election process has turned into. Our Nation's leaders are not even attempting to hide the evil that lurks within this schemed process.

Surely, our nation's people can clearly see this, and in doing so, continue to trust that You have a plan to bring about Your intended purpose in this hour that weighs so heavily on our hearts. In Jesus' name, amen.

- "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your path." (Proverbs 3:5-6)

6. Alabama chief justice ousted over same-sex marriage defiance - Reuters

The chief justice of Alabama's Supreme Court was effectively ousted on Friday by a judicial panel that found he unethically resisted U.S. court rulings that legalized same-sex marriage. Chief Justice Roy Moore, 69, violated judicial ethics with an order seen as directing probate judges to withhold marriage licenses from same-sex couples, defying federal court decisions, the Alabama Court of the Judiciary ruled. It was the second suspension for the outspokenly conservative Moore. Earlier, he was sanctioned for refusing to remove a monument of the Ten Commandments in a state building. (Read more)

- Lord God Almighty,

It's another sad day for America, as we see our moral values continuing to rapidly spiral downward to an all-time low. We are thankful for Chief Justice Roy Moore's boldness to hold strong to his godly, moral virtues and to not compromise what he knows to be unacceptable in Your sight.

We humbly ask Your forgiveness Lord God, for our Judicial System continually calling evil good and good evil. And who consistently manipulate laws to justify the evil that runs rampant in our Nation. Surely, God declares that He will not be mocked, and that we may well be entering into the days of judgment handed down from the "Courts of Heaven."

Lord God, we pray in Jesus mighty and powerful name, that Your Kingdom would come and that Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven . . . and all who are in agreement, Praise His name.

- "Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who substitute darkness for light and light for darkness; who substitute bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter. What sorrow for those who are wise in their own eyes and shrewd in their own sight."
(Isaiah 5:20-21)

7. Bid to block US net handover rejected - BBC News

A judge in Texas has rejected a last-ditch legal challenge to halt the final handover of internet naming power from the US government to a non-profit group. The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (Icann) has administered the naming system since 1998.

But from Saturday it will operate without the ultimate oversight of the US government.

Four US states filed a joint motion on Thursday in an attempt to block the handover from going ahead, arguing it could disrupt freedom of speech.

"We're disappointed with the ruling," said Marc Rylander, a spokesman for the Texas attorney general. "It's a dire day in our country when the president is allowed to unilaterally give away America's pioneering role in ensuring that the internet remains a place where free expression can flourish. "We will continue to weigh our options as the suit moves forward." (Read more)

- Heavenly Father,

Where do we go from here? Our freedom of speech is yet again in jeopardy, as the plan to stop US involvement in the administration of DNS, thankfully has won attention from the US Senator Ted Cruz, and Donald Trump's presidential campaign. Both have claimed the handover would dent the freedom of speech online and give Russia and China more control over the net.

We seek Your wise counsel in this issue Lord God, as You guide the men and women who are upright and who desire to protect our freedom of speech. In Jesus' name, amen.

- " . . . with men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible."
(Matthew 19:26)

8. The White House forgot its own policy on Jerusalem Friday - at least temporarily - MccCatchydc

The administration initially sent out a copy of President Barack Obama's remarks at former Israeli Prime Minister Shimon Peres' funeral in Jerusalem, indicating that the remarks had been given in Jerusalem, Israel. But later Friday afternoon, the press office sent out a correction to the previous email, striking out "Israel" from the header of the transcript.

Obama delivered the eulogy at Israeli national cemetery Mount Herzl.

U.S. policy has long refrained from recognizing any nation's sovereignty over Jerusalem. Both Israelis and Palestinians claim Jerusalem as their capital, with Israel declaring in 1980 the city was its undivided capital. A 2015 Supreme Court decision reaffirmed U.S. practice that forbids Americans born in Jerusalem to list Israel as their country of birth on passports. (Read more)

- Father, we stand in the gap for this administration, that is so "bent" on even removing the name of Israel from the map of the nations. Lord, have mercy. We ask that this sin, committed by the State Department, not be held against our own people, for we know better. Lord God, we all know that, from the beginning of time, this land has belonged to the Jews. Once again, we come to you on bended knee, asking mercy for our people, in Your Name, Amen.

- "Your eyes have seen what the Lord did at Baal Peor; for the Lord your God has destroyed from among you all the men who followed Baal of Peor. But you who held fast to the Lord Your God are alive today, every one of you." (Deuteronomy 4:3-4)

9. Iran Unveils New Attack Drone, Says It Was Based On Captured Us Aircraft - Fox News

Iran's Revolutionary Guard unveiled a new attack drone which is similar to a U.S. unmanned aerial vehicle captured five years ago and is capable of carrying bombs, state media reported on Saturday.

The drone, called the "Saegheh," or Thunderbolt, was unveiled at an expo showcasing the latest achievements by the Revolutionary Guard.

"This long-range drone is capable of hitting four targets with smart precision-guided bombs with high accuracy," the head of the Revolutionary Guards' aerospace arm, Amir Ali Hajizadeh, was quoted as saying by state news agency IRNA, Reuters reported. (Read more)

- Father God, Was this captured drone, a captured compromise, that Iran is laying claim to? In their success in using reverse engineering, is this their attempt to succeed? Is Iran gloating that they have one over on our Nation!

We must remember Lord God, that the weapons we most often fight with as followers of Jesus, are not the weapons of the world. Quite the contrary, as we have divine power to demolish strongholds that are used against us.

No matter how warped and evil these times are, we are reminded in a Your Word to pray for all men, everywhere, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and dissension. For surely, this battle belongs to You Lord God.

- "If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peacefully with all men."
(Romans 12:18)

10. Russia said to send more warplanes to Syria, diplomacy 'on life support' - Reuters

Russia is sending more warplanes to Syria to ramp up its air campaign, a Russian newspaper reported on Friday, as the United States said diplomacy to halt the violence was "on life support" but not dead yet. Fighting continued to intensify a week into a new Russian-backed Syrian government offensive to capture rebel-held eastern Aleppo and crush the last urban stronghold of a revolt against Syrian President Bashar al-Assad that began in 2011.

Moscow and Assad spurned a U.S.-Russian brokered ceasefire agreed to this month and launched attacks on rebel-held areas in Aleppo in potentially the most decisive battle in the Syrian civil war. (Read more)

- Lord, You are Jehovah-Shalom, the Lord of Peace. There are no nations more powerful than You. There seems to be a continual battle of one nation trying to be the most powerful over all other nations in the world. You are the Lord strong and mighty. The only God that can bring down the wall around a city with trumpets and shouts of Your chosen ones.

The leaders of the world agree on terms with each other, but then ignore them to do as they please. Who can be trusted to bring peace to the world? Our trust is in You alone. Let the eyes and ears of the leaders of the world be opened and their hearts be stirred by the Holy Spirit to make the right decisions. We ask that there be no selfish agendas, no pride, nor personal gain for men, but only Your will for the world You created.

Have mercy on the peoples of all nations. Let lost souls be brought into the light that only shines from You. Let those that choose to stay in darkness be dealt with as You will. Thank You for being a loving and merciful God.

- "These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world."
(John 16:33)

When the establishment is threatened

Donald Trump must really have the establishment threatened. There have been news reports that the only allies Hillary Clinton has are the establishment Democrats and the mainstream media. This is playing out today before your very eyes with the unprecedented Clinton endorsement of USA Today. It was not a ringing endorsement of Clinton, however, as one would expect, but rather a stinging diatribe against Trump, calling him unfit for the office, a habitual liar, a reckless man with a checkered business history, who "traffics in prejudice." In other words, USA Today took the Clinton talking points and turned it into an editorial maligning Trump as "beyond repair." The "establishment" is threatened.

In the next 30 days, Americans will see an unprecedented attack by those whose power is threatened by a Trump presidency. We already have seen it in the works. Politico reports: "The United Nations News Centre - the official U.N. news service - tweeted, then quickly pulled, a post that called for "8 million Americans abroad" to "stop Trump." The tweet, published at 9:14 p.m. ET on Thursday, urged American expats to share a voter registration tool on the website of the activist organization Avaaz that states, "U.S. Citizens abroad could defeat Trump ... if they voted." While the UN has tried to influence US politics in the past, it is vehemently pushing illegal voting, anything that would stop a Trump candidacy.

As Christians, we can look at this in two major ways. Some may say, "See, I told you so. If so many people who are intimately involved in world affairs are against this man, so should we be. Where there is smoke there is fire." Or many may say, "If so many of these world leaders who are afraid of losing their power, who have run economies into extraordinary debt, have fomented war rather than peace by promoting Islam, and have subjected individual rights-including the right to life, freedom of speech and of religion-to overreaching government are against Trump, maybe he is on to something good." Personally, I fall into that category. These established world leaders have made a mess of things. Trump can do no worse.

Hillary Clinton is all the things that USA Today accuses Trump of being. She is a liar, a crook, traffics in class warfare, supports nations who wish to kill all Americans who do not submit to them, peddles influence for money (especially from terrorist sponsors), and the list goes on and on. Clinton is the "establishment's" woman. We do not have great choices for the presidency, but I know what kind of choice Clinton is, what she stands for and her body of work. She is the antithesis of what is good and right about America. As Jesus said in Matthew 24:4, "Take heed that no man deceive you." Be careful not to be deceived by those who will make accusations based on the content of their own hearts so they can keep their power and continue their deeds at the expense of others (like you and me).

Have a Blessed and Powerful Day!

Reports are that a prominent Syriac Catholic church in Aleppo sustained significant damage in a shell attack, earlier this month. Classic Hymns:

HIS EYE IS ON THE SPARROW

"Are not two sparrows sold for a copper coin? And not one of them falls to the ground apart from your Father's will. . . Do not fear therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows." (Matthew 10:29,31)

Lyrics

Why should I feel discouraged, why should the shadows come,
Why should my heart be lonely, and long for heaven and home,
When Jesus is my portion? My constant friend is He:
His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me; His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me.

Refrain

I sing because I'm happy,
I sing because I'm free,
For His eye is on the sparrow,
And I know He watches me.

"Let not your heart be troubled," His tender word I hear,
And resting on His goodness, I lose my doubts and fears;
Though by the path He leadeth, but one step I may see;
His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me; His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me.

Refrain

Whenever I am tempted, whenever clouds arise,
When songs give place to sighing, when hope within me dies,
I draw the closer to Him, from care He sets me free;
His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me;
His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me.

About the hymn:

Early in the spring of 1905, my husband and I were sojourning in Elmira, New York. We contracted a deep friendship for a couple by the name of Mr. and Mrs. Doolittle-true saints of God. Mrs. Doolittle had been bedridden for nigh twenty years. Her husband was an incurable cripple who had to propel himself to and from his business in a wheel chair. Despite their afflictions, they lived happy Christian lives, bringing inspiration and comfort to all who knew them. One day while we were visiting with the Doolittles, my husband commented on their bright hopefulness and asked them for the secret of it. Mrs. Doolittle's reply was simple: "His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me." The beauty of this simple expression of boundless faith gripped the hearts and fired the imagination of Dr. Martin and me. The hymn "His Eye Is on the Sparrow" was the outcome of that experience.

Rosetta Spacecraft Crash Lands On Comet,
Bringing Historical Mission To An End

BERLIN, Sept 30 - The Rosetta spacecraft ended its historic mission on Friday, crashing on the surface of the dusty, icy comet it has spent 12 years chasing in a hunt that has provided insight into the early days of the solar system and captured the public's imagination.

The spacecraft has stalked comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko across more than 6 billion km (3.7 billion miles) of space, collecting a treasure trove of information on comets that will keep scientists busy for the next decade.

Scientists in the European Space Agency control center in Darmstadt, Germany, clapped and hugged as confirmation of the end of the mission came at 1119 GMT.

Rosetta completed its free-fall descent at the speed of a sedate walk, joining the probe Philae, which landed on the comet in November 2014 in what was considered a remarkable feat of precision space travel. "Thank you Rosetta," ESA director general Jan Woerner said on Twitter.

He was among some 300 people who had also gathered before dawn at a conference room at the International Astronautical Congress in Guadalajara, Mexico, to watch a live webcast as Rosetta's signal disappeared from monitors, simultaneously with the team in Germany.

"It was a good ending," Klaus Schiling, who worked on mission planning for Rosetta 27 years ago with prime contractor Airbus , told Reuters at the Mexico space conference. "There were so many ups and downs with this mission." (Huffington Post) Read more.

The Good News Corner

Stopping the IRS from Forcing Pastors to Censor their Sermons

"It's time that we eliminate the targeting of the IRS. Enough is enough and this has been going on for far too long. And this is absolutely unconscionable that our government would force individuals to choose between their constitutionally protected rights or their faith."

[CBN News] Pastors may soon have more freedom in the pulpit when it comes to preaching on politics and social issues without risking their churches' tax exempt status.
A coalition of Republican leaders and attorneys are pushing a measure that would restrict the enforcement of the Johnson Amendment, a law from the 50's, they believe was manipulated to violate pastors' free speech and freedom of religion.

"Today, the IRS can use the Johnson Amendment to tell pastors what they can and cannot preach. This law aims to censor your sermon if the IRS labels it 'political,'" Alliance Defending Freedom said in a statement.

That is why congressmen Steve Scalise, R-LA, and Jody Hice, R-GA, introduced the Free Speech Fairness Act in the House Wednesday. The bill would prevent the IRS from using the Johnson Amendment to censor churches.

"It's time that we eliminate the targeting of the IRS. Enough is enough and this has been going on for far too long. And this is absolutely unconscionable that our government would force individuals to choose between their constitutionally protected rights or their faith," Rep. Jody Hice said.

ADF Senior Counsel Erik Stanley says that although the Johnson Amendment "was never intended to affect churches," it has still been used to "intimidate" pastors into censoring what they say from the pulpit.

"No tax exemption can be based on a requirement that a church or any other non-profit organization give up a constitutionally protected freedom, including free speech," he added. "Americans don't need the IRS to be the referee."

Tony Perkins, President of the Family Research Council is also a strong supporter of the bill. He says politicians and government should stop getting in the way of many pastors' constitutional rights.

"Government bureaucrats should not be the bouncers to the doorway of freedom of speech and freedom of religion." (Breaking Christian News/CBN) Read more.

-John Peter Muhlenberg,

Pastor-General-Congressman

"For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven," preached Rev. John Peter Muhlenberg, from the book of Ecclesiastes 3:1.

He closed his message by saying:

"In the language of the Holy Writ, there is a time for all things. There is a time to preach and a time to fight. And now is the time to fight."

This was John Peter Gabriel Muhlenberg, a 30 year old member of the Virginia House of Burgesses who was also a pastor.

At the end of his sermon, January 21, 1776, John Peter Muhlenberg threw off his clerical robes to reveal the uniform of an officer in the Continental Army.

Drums began to roll, men kissed their wives, and they walked down the aisle to enlist.

The next day, Pastor Muhlenberg led 300 men of his church and surrounding churches to join General Washington's Continental Army as the 8th Virginia Regiment. (The American Minute; October 1, 2016) Read entire article here.

> > > A prayer for our pastors, written by Rev. Pierre Bynum, Family Research Council:

Today, and going forward, may Pastors everywhere find great courage to speak the whole Word of God as it applies to the state of our nation and political initiatives that will do harm to their churches and families. May they not hesitate to preach as God leads them, knowing, 1) that they must be faithful to God and their flock, and 2) that they are protected by the First Amendment guarantees of Freedom of Religion and Speech, freedoms that our sons and fathers have given their blood to defend. May they unashamedly guide God's people to vote for men and women who will institute godly public policies and against those who will further pull America down into sinful disgrace! May God's people respond with godly fear, rushing to their duty as citizens for God, their children, and their neighbors!

"Make a joyful shout to the Lord, all you lands!

Serve the Lord with gladness; Come before His presence with singing.

Know that the Lord, He is God;
It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves;
We are His people and the sheep of His pasture.

Enter into His gates with thanksgiving,
And into His courts with praise.
Be thankful to Him, and bless His name.

For the Lord is good;
His mercy is everlasting,
And His truth endures to all generations."
(Psalm 100)
