The Daily Brief -Tuesday, February 28, 2012
"His faithfulness is a shield and bulwark." (Psalm 91:4)
The Daily Brief
1. Israel Won't Warn U.S. Before Strike On Iran - AP
WASHINGTON -- Israeli officials say they won't warn the U.S. if they decide to launch a pre-emptive strike against Iranian nuclear facilities, according to one U.S. intelligence official familiar with the discussions. The pronouncement, delivered in a series of private, top-level conversations, sets a tense tone ahead of meetings in the coming days at the White House and Capitol Hill.
Israeli officials said that if they eventually decide a strike is necessary, they would keep the Americans in the dark to decrease the likelihood that the U.S. would be held responsible for failing to stop Israel's potential attack. The U.S. has been working with the Israelis for months to persuade them that an attack would be only a temporary setback to Iran's nuclear program.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Ehud Barak delivered the message to a series of top-level U.S. visitors to the country, including the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the White House national security adviser and the director of national intelligence, and top U.S. lawmakers, all trying to close the trust gap between Israel and the U.S. over how to deal with Iran's nuclear ambitions.
The White House did not respond to requests for comment, and the Pentagon and Office of Director of National Intelligence declined to comment, as did the Israeli Embassy.

- Lord, prepare mercy and truth for Israel and all leaders working on the problem with Iran. We bind deception and loose the Holy Spirit of truth for Israel, and the meetings in Washington, D.C. in the next couple of weeks. We pray for protection of Israel. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen.
- Oh, prepare mercy and truth, which may preserve him! (Psalm 61:7)
2. Iran prepares for kamikaze attacks - World Net Daily
Tehran military on high alert with planes, speedboats in Persian Gulf. Even as it continued to talk with the U.N. nuclear watchdog, Iran continued to prepare for war over its nuclear weapons program, training for kamikaze attacks in the Persian Gulf with both planes and speedboats, sources within the Iranian armed forces report.
- Lord, we pray for a confounding of the works of the enemy and planned attacks. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen.
- Let them be ashamed and brought to mutual confusion who rejoice in my hurt; Let them be clothes with shame and dishonor who exalt themselves against me. (Psalm 35:26)
3. Court Stops Eviction of Churches Meeting in New York Schools - Charisma News
New York City churches that have been meeting in public schools won a reprieve from eviction. A Friday court order allows churches to continue meeting for worship services while a lawsuit against the city continues. The preliminary injunction against New York City's unique-in-the-nation prohibition on worship services in vacant public school buildings on weekends comes on the heels of a temporary order that allowed the Bronx Household of Faith to meet for 10 days.
"Churches that have been helping communities for years can once again offer the hope that empty buildings can't. The city can't single out religious expression and treat it worse than the expression of everybody else," says Alliance Defense Fund (ADF) senior counsel Jordan Lorence. "The court's order allows churches and other religious groups to meet in empty school buildings on weekends just as non-religious groups do while the lawsuit proceeds. The city's view of the First Amendment is wrong, and we intend to continue to demonstrate that in court."
- Lord, we thank you the court allowed churches to continue meeting in schools. We pray that the lawsuit will be successful to allow access to meeting in schools permanently. We pray for the Alliance Defense Fund, and Jordan Lorence for wisdom, anointed words, and favor as they present their case. May the court make a righteous judgment that will send a message to the nation. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen.
- Do not judge according to appearance, but judge with righteous judgement. (John 7:24)
4. Victim of Ohio school shooting declared brain dead, suspect described as 'outcast' - Fox News
Authorities said Tuesday that a student wounded in an Ohio high school shooting has been declared brain dead, the second fatality in a deadly rampage that left three others wounded.
The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner said 17-year-old Russell King Jr., who was airlifted to a hospital Monday following a shooting inside Chardon High School, has been pronounced brain dead.
A teenager described as an "outcast" is suspected of targeting King and four other classmates inside the school's cafeteria at around 7:30 a.m. Monday. Another student, 17-year-old Daniel Parmertor, died hours after the shooting.

- We pray for those injured, and healing. We pray for the Holy Spirit, the Comforter, to invade this situation. May the families receive ministry they need. Lord, we also pray for the teenager who has done the shooting, that he would be freed from the enemy's lies to him, that he would come to know You, and that justice will be done. May You bring good out of this tragedy. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen.
- Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. (2 Corinthians 1:3-6)

From contraception to hiring, churches allow White House to take authority
The man who occupies the Oval Office has taken authority over many of America's churches. On one hand, he has allowed religious groups that receive public money to discriminate against homosexuals in their hiring practices. On the other, he has said that all these groups must provide their workers free birth control insurance coverage. This has sparked criticism from the somewhat loyal opposition who would like to take the president's job come November. Raising charges from the president being engaged in a war on religion to having fought against religion to practicing phony theology, candidates may be appealing to public sentiment, but the problem is much deeper.
The First Amendment of the US Constitution decrees a "hands off" policy toward churches saying: "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances." This means that the government cannot interfere with the establishment or free exercise of religion. Since no laws can be made regarding the free exercise of religion, how then can the White House exact a policy that either allows discrimination based on religious belief or mandates that churches must go against their religious beliefs?
Somewhere along the line churches, ministries of churches, and independent ministries got the bright idea that they could raise more money and receive more money, even from the government, if they surrendered their independence from the government by incorporating as a 501C3 not for profit organization. Instead of being a church, they would be a corporation under the laws of the nation, under the direct control of the federal government. In other words, they stepped out of the freedom provided by the Constitution and into bondage to the government. They say it is for tax purposes, but churches are not taxed and donations to churches are tax deductible.
Given the heresy of dominion theology--that religion would become the government and rule over the nations so that Christ can return--it would seem only a natural progression to be part of the government, use the government's money, and expect the government to do what many churches are no longer willing to do--deal with the poor, the orphans and the widows. Now, they scream the loudest when the government flexes its legal control. Yeshua (Jesus) said in Mark 12:17, "Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to YHVH (God) the things that are YHVH's." The things of YHVH's are found in the holy scriptures. When churches give up control of them to Caesar, they are controlled by Caesar.

Iran - Part One:
The Iranian Crisis: Heading for Disaster
Prayer Requests from Intercessors for Israel
Each week that passes without the Iranian threat being dealt with, brings Israel - and the rest of the world - that much closer to disaster. Leaders in the West cannot be that blind that they do not see the game Iran's leaders are playing - and yet they continue to talk about sanctions as if that will accomplish anything. Both Cuba and North Korea have been under sanctions for decades without any results whatsoever. So we must continue to watch and pray into this situation.
* Lord, cause Iran's leadership to make such major mistakes that even the blind shepherds who lead Western nations see what their game is (Psalm 129:5).
* Push the spiritual prince of Persia (Dan. 10:13) to overplay his hand.
* You said You would 'curse those who curse' Your people (Gen. 12:3). Lord, hear what Ahmadinejad and Khomeini say about Israel and the Jews, and curse their demonic plans.
* Lord of hosts, whatever it takes, prevent Iran from obtaining weapons of mass destruction.
* Can we suggest that pushing them to close the Straits of Hormuz would put the proverbial cat among the pigeons!
* Like You did with Haman of old, so do with 'Persia's' current leadership and let the gallows that they are preparing for the Jews be turned against them (Esther 7:10).
* God, physically shake that nation - especially the areas under their nuclear facilities.
* God, glorify Your name in Iran. Save multitudes and remove their wicked shepherds. And I will set My throne in Elam [ancient Persia], and will destroy from there the king and the princes, says the LORD. (Jer. 49:38) [Source: Intercessors for Israel; Weekly Prayer Alert; Friday, February 24, 2012]
Iran - Part Two
If All Else ("Diplomatic Solutions") Fails . . .
More Prayer Requests from Intercessors for Israel
If God does not deal with Iran sovereignly, or if He chooses not to wake up the West, then Israel will most likely turn its' covert war against Iran into a major military attack. And this could be God's will, as He has prophesied that when Israel is brought back to the land, He would make of them a mighty army - for His glory!
* Then He said unto me, Prophesy unto the wind [spirit] . . . son of man, and say . . .Thus says the Lord GOD; Come from the four winds, O [spirit], and breathe upon these slain [the whole house of Israel v.11], that they may live. So I prophesied as He commanded me, and the [spirit] came into them, and they lived, and stood up upon their feet, an exceeding great army. (Ezek. 37:9-10)
* When I have bent Judah for Me, filled the bow with Ephraim, and raised up your sons, O Zion, against your sons, O Greece, and made you as the sword of a mighty man. YHWH shall be seen over them, and His arrow shall go forth as the lightning . . . YHWH of hosts shall defend them, and they shall devour, and subdue with sling stones . . .They shall be as mighty men, which tread down their enemies in the mire of the streets in the battle: and they shall fight, because YHWH is with them . . . I will strengthen the house of Judah, and I will save the house of Joseph, and I will bring them again to place them, for I have mercy on them, and they shall be as though I had not cast them off: for I am YHWH their God, and will hear them.
(Zech. 9:13-15a; 10:5-6; see also Deut. 33:26-29; Isa. 41:10-16; Jer. 51:19-24; Mic. 4:11-13; Zech. 12:6-9)
* Thank You that Netanyahu recently confessed that You were on Israel's side against this threat, as well as saying that Israel has a right - even a responsibility - to defend itself.
* If Israel needs to deal with Iran militarily, give Israel's leaders Your wisdom and timing.
* Enable the IDF to use the correct weapons and to be super-creative in its tactics.
* Give to Israel's military industry wisdom to create new weapons systems if need be.
* Blessed be the LORD my strength, who teaches my hands to war, and my fingers to fight. My goodness, my fortress, my high tower, and my deliverer, my shield, and He in whom I trust . . . (Psa. 144:1-2a)
* Sow panic among Israel's enemies - like You have done so often in the past (Exo. 14:25; Judg. 7:19-22; 1 Sam. 17:50-51; 2 Kin. 7:5-7.)
* Make Israel a world leader in cyber-warfare techniques.
* Expose all of the hidden plans of the enemy. [Source: Intercessors for Israel; Weekly Prayer Alert; Friday, February 24, 2012]
