FAST AND PRAY FOR JAPAN
CALLING THE NATION TO FAST
SUNDAY, MARCH 20, 2011
"[Is] not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke?" (Isaiah 58:16)
FAST AND PRAY FOR JAPAN:
INTRODUCTION
GREETINGS SAINTS,
LIKE YOU, OUR HEARTS ARE HEAVY FOR NATION OF JAPAN, HER PEOPLE AND THEIR LAND.
WE HUMBLY ASK THAT YOU WOULD JOIN US TO FAST AND PRAY, SUNDAY, MARCH 20,2011, FOR THE PRAYER POINTS LISTED BELOW.
As each of you presses in to hear the Father in this critical hour for Japan, we encourage you to use these prayer points as a "starting point" for your own times of intercession. Feel free to amplify, adapt, or revise these requests as you choose. Thank you.
PRAY FOR JAPAN'S LEADERSHIP
"I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people - for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness." (I Tim. 2:1-2)
Please lift up Japan's Prime Minister Naoto Kan and his cabinet in prayer, according to
I Timothy 2:1-2.
-- Pray that they would have a good heart, clear thinking and in the right attitude, be open to suggestions in bringing their Nation's problems to a resolve.
-- Pray that, in the midst of this continued series of crises, their hearts would be turned away from the false gods of the nation -- and from a secular mindset -- to the Lord.
"The way to become wise is to honor the Lord; He gives sound judgment to all who obey His commands."(Psalm 111:10)
PRAY ABOUT JAPAN'S NUCLEAR REACTORS BREAK DOWN AND LEAKAGE
"If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer." (Matthew 21:22)
Pray:
1. That they would not downplay its seriousness and repercussions
2. That their engineers would be graced to be able to quickly contain this disaster
3. That the people would be kept supernaturally safe from the effects of the radiation
4. That the prevailing winds would blow EAST, in the direction of the Pacific Ocean
BREAKING NEWS:
The boss of the company behind the devastated Japanese nuclear reactor today broke down in tears - as his country finally acknowledged the radiation spewing from the over-heating reactors and fuel rods was enough to kill some citizens.

-- Thank the Lord that He is moving upon the heart of TEPCO's President Masataka Shimizu, helping him to overcome pride and to admit his need for help.
As his company now faces a challenge of unprecedented magnitude, ask that Mr. Shimizu not fall into despair, but find comfort in the knowledge of our Savior. Ask our Lord to raise up a man who can come across his path in this desperate hour, bringing the good news of Christ Jesus into his life. Amen.

PRAY FOR THE IMMEDIATE NEEDS OF HER PEOPLE
"He will rescue the poor when they cry to him; he will help the oppressed, who have no one to defend them. He feels pity for the weak and the needy, and he will rescue them. He will redeem them from oppression and violence, for their lives are precious to him." (Psalm 72:12-14)
1. Pray that the Japanese Government would organize and send out teams that would supply the immediate needs of her people for their mental and physical health, food, water, clothing and sanitation.
2. Pray that work teams would begin to be formed, and with a systematic plan, go through each city that has been affected from the earthquakes and the tsunami.
PRAY FOR CLEAR COMMUNICATION
"And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus." (Phil. 4:19)
Pray that command posts be set up in designated areas
a. so their people can report the missing and those who have passed
b. cell phone available for those who need to connect with family and friends in other cities, and nations
c. transportation be made available for those who want to get to other areas and regions of Japan in safety
PRAY FOR THE SALVATION OF THE LOST
"Put in the sickle, for the harvest is ripe." (Joel 3:13)
1. Ask for mercy for the sin of idolitry, mammon, and of pride.
(1Corinthin 10:14; Matthew 6:24; Luke 18:11-12)
2. Ask the "Lord of the harvest to send laborers into the fields that are white for harvest."
(John 4:35b, Matthew 9:36-38, John 3:15-16)
