- Any bill that becomes a law can yet be contested in a court of law. Pray that this bill, soon to become law, will end up in court and therefore be suspended until the judiciary can decide if the bill, in whole or in part, is indeed legal, according to our Constitution. The Lord desires that His people be blessed, and able to prosper in all they do, and not to be punished without reason. Pray that the spirit of oppression is lifted off of our land, and a spirit of strength is released.

- Do not fret because of evildoers, Nor be envious of of the workers of iniquity. For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither in the green herb. Trust in the Lord and do good; Dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness. (Psalm 37: 1 - 3)

b. Oil Spill Raises Public Health Concerns - VOA

The Gulf oil spill could lead to some serious public health problems, according to a new report released this week.

- Pray that this "capping" WILL hold, and that this terrible ordeal will come to an end. We yet have a very long road ahead of us in the cleanup phase; and much yet needs to be done. Ask the Lord to give His wisdom to all in authority in the public and the private sector as they seek to rectify the enormous damage done; and pray that those whose lives have been directly impacted will find their needs met.

- "If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him." (James 1:5)

3. DC area shaken by minor earthquake with a 3.6 magnitude - Fox News

Now that a quake of some significance has hit the national capital region, pray that its residents would be awakened in the shaking to the fact that we are not in control, but we instead must find a Power greater than ourselves -- Jesus Christ our Lord -- as the foundation of our lives.

- Now this, "Yet once more" indicates the removal of those things that are being shaken, as of things that are made, the the things which cannot be shaken may remain. Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let is have grace, by which we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear. (Heb. 13 v 27, 28)

4. US fears Iranian-backed attacks in Iraq - Jerusalem Post

The US increased security at its Iraqi bases in response to threats by Iranian-backed terrorists, said Gen. Ray Odierno Tuesday.

- God, we call forth Your intervention regarding the threatened attacks of terrorists. All powers of darkness that work through them are bound by the blood of Jesus. Render them powerless to act. Surround their camp with warring angels that will hold them back. Satan and all his evil spirits were defeated at the cross on which Jesus Christ was crucified. So now we stand in the power of the cross and command these evil forces to bow in submission to God. May Iraqis cry out to God in repentance that their sins be forgiven and their souls be saved. In Jesus Name.

- "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." (Romans 10:13)

5. Clinton: Iranian Scientist Free to Leave US - VOA

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said Tuesday that an Iranian nuclear scientist, who Iran claims was abducted by U.S. agents, is in the United States on his own free will and is free to leave. The Iranian, Shahram Amiri, turned up at the Iranian interests section, located at the Pakistani embassy in Washington.

- God, we ask that this Iranian that "turned up" on American soil be sent back to Iran and no mischief follows in his wake. Move him out of our land peaceably and quickly. Cancel out any ungodly motives that he may have. There was no cause for him to "turn up" in America since the scientist was not abducted but came on his own free will and is free to leave. Break any connection that Amiri might have to plan evil here. We ask that You restrict his movements and actions. Send him out of our country quickly. In Jesus Name.

- "Lay not wait, O wicked man, against the dwelling of the righteous; spoil not his resting place. (Proverbs 24:16)

6. Fateful battle in the Gulf - Ynet News

Ras al-Khaimah is the northernmost emirate in the United Arab Emirates (UAE,) yet despite its almost absolute anonymity, it is considered one of the world's most important strategic spots. The tiny emirate, which is home to about 200,000 residents, dominates the entrance to the Hormuz Straits, the world's oil gateway, as well as an important regional port mostly used by Iran.

- Father, those things which are hidden in almost absolute anonymity shall always be revealed and brought into the light. God, we ask that You send hosts of angels to surround and guard this important strategic gate that dominates the entrance to the Hormuz Straits, the world's oil gateway. Lord, we acknowledge that You are in total control of this gate and all that goes out and all that comes in. Every evil power of darkness must relinquish control to God. A breathtaking advance from poverty to fabulous wealth in just one generation has been funded by oil wealth in this area. By Your great power, O God, we ask that You draw out a good portion of this wealth to be distributed to the poverty-stricken nations all over the world and another portion be given in abundance toward the propagation of the gospel of the Lord to a lost and dying world. Save souls through this wealth, God. We claim it in Jesus Name.

- "O magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt His name together." (Psalm 34:3)

- Father, there is a people in South Korea that you want to protect from their enemies in the north, and You gave the knowledge to invent these robots. Thank you, Lord. May they be effective and even strike fear in the hearts of the enemy. Call forth manpower also who will be thrust forward under the hand of the Lord to defeat the opposing armies. In Jesus Name.

- "I wisdom dwell with prudence and find out knowledge of witty inventions." (Proverbs 8:12)

8. EU tells states to prepare for banks that fail stress tests - EU Observer

European finance ministers have defended stress tests currently being carried out on 91 of the region's banks, amid EU calls for governments to be ready with aid when the results are published on 23 July.

- Father, we plead for mercy over the banks and financial institutions in Europe that they not be brought under the powers of the New World Order. They are reserved from destruction until God's appointed time. May all of Europe experience a mighty revival that will bring the hearts of men and women back to God. Saturate the atmosphere with the presence of the Holy Spirit and save souls by deep repentance from sin. In Jesus Name.

- "For I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance." (Matthew 9:13)

- Father, we call forth the armed-and-ready host of angels to be dispatched to Jordan where these armored vehicles are sitting. We ask for miracles of the Lord to come and destroy them. May the land cave in beneath them. May whatever God has ordered be done with swiftness, and there not be one standing. In Jesus Name.

- "Let them be as chaff before the wind: and let the angel of the Lord chase them. Let their way be dark, and slippery: and let the angel of the Lord persecute them." (Psalm 35:5-6)

10. U.S.-Born Radical Cleric Added to Terror Blacklist - Fox News

The Obama administration added a U.S.-born, al-Qaida-linked cleric to a terrorism blacklist Friday, targeting him with sanctions aimed at cutting off his financial support.

That means any bank accounts found in the United States belonging to him are frozen. Americans are forbidden from doing business with him. And, it bans him from traveling to the U.S.

- Offer praise for the strong stand we are taking against this alleged terrorist, and pray that all sanctions against him will hold. This is an answer to prayer. Praise God!

- "The effectual, fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much." (James 5:16)

Understanding the heresy of social justice and collective salvation

The integration of Marxist socialism and Liberation theology with Christianity is one of the most intriguing enigmas in modern American politics. This mixing of religion with social justice espoused by leftists such as the Reverends Jeremiah Wright and Jim Wallis has permeated the very soul of the White House. [sic] Hussein Obama sat for 20 years under the teachings of Wright, where the integration of Marxist socialism with false religious doctrines produced a belief in "collective salvation" that morally justifies using the government as an instrument for social justice and the salvation of a nation.

On August 9, 1995, long before he left the church of Jeremiah Wright under a controversial storm of anti-American, anti-White media critique, Obama was quoted on Bill Thompson's Eye on Books radio interview saying, ". . . my individual salvation is not going to come about without a collective salvation for the country. Unfortunately, I think that recognition requires that we make sacrifices, and this country has not always been willing to make the sacrifices necessary to bring about a new day and a new age." He repeated the theme in a speech on May 25, 2008 to Wesleyan University graduates, saying: ". . . our individual salvation depends on collective salvation." What does this mean and where did it come from?

Cardinal Henri de Lubac, an influential Catholic theologian of the 20th century, appears to have originated collective salvation by proposing a response to atheist humanism that suggested integrating the Marxist socio-political doctrine and the communion "dogma" of the Church. Lubac reasoned that unbelievers were able to obtain salvation "by virtue of those mysterious bonds which unite them to the faithful." Lubac surmised that mankind is linked together in an essential social salvation that resulted in a collective destiny. This is the basis for the unbiblical belief in collective salvation, which has evolved into a dangerous and deceptive doctrine that leads nations into socialism and its citizens to hell.

The salvation doctrine of Christianity is personal. Jesus said in John 14:6, "I am the way, the truth and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." He did not say "no nation" or "no society." A belief in collective salvation is heretical because it denies the specific work of Christ on the cross, His redemption of mankind, and the gift of salvation to each person who will accept Christ as their personal savior. Problem is, this collective salvation concept has spread like a virus in America's government because of White House political appointments and nominations of like minded socialists and antichrists. Proverbs 29:12 says, "If a ruler hearken to lies, all his servants are wicked."

D.C. = Democracy Crushed?

There may have been a minor earthquake in D.C. this morning, but it was Thursday's appellate ruling on marriage that really shook the city. By a razor-thin margin, the District of Columbia Court of Appeals joined the D.C. Superior Court in calling man-woman marriage "discriminatory" and arguing that, as such, voters shouldn't have the opportunity to protect it. A block of five judges wrote, "Because appellants' proposed initiative would authorize, or have the effect of authorizing, discrimination on the basis prohibited by the Human Rights Act, it was not a proper subject of initiative." The case turned more on arcane details of D.C. law than it did on the merits of same-sex "marriage."

But the bottom line is that in the nation's capital, like so many other places, a small group of judicial activists has read into the Constitution (or in this case, the District's Charter) things that are not there in order to achieve their desired policy outcome. In every single state where the people have voted, they have voted to uphold the definition of marriage as the union of one man and one woman.

Even liberal members of Congress admit that same-sex "marriage" is a losing issue in America. Just this week, Rep. Tammy Baldwin (D-Wis.) conceded that her radical colleagues would have to rely on the courts to overturn the federal definition of marriage. So it's no surprise that homosexual activists in the District of Columbia (which is not a state, but in some ways functions like one) wanted to keep voters from having a voice on the issue. Until the District gives its people a voice, Bishop Harry Jackson's team is determined to bring the issue to the steps of the U.S. Supreme Court, the next--and final stop--in preserving the principle of self-governance that this city is supposed to be a symbol of.

Although Chief Justice Roberts denied their request for an injunction back in March, he didn't rule out an eventual challenge in his court. "...[P]etitioners will have the right to challenge any adverse decision through a petition of certiorari in this Court at the appropriate time." That time is now. Please do what you can to help Stand for Marriage and Alliance Defense Fund fight this agenda--starting with prayer for their team. (Tony Perkins, Family Research Council)

- Our Lord loves homosexuals enough to die for them . . . to pour out His very lifeblood that they may be free of the enemy's grip on their souls. We, too, are to love the sinner, but HATE THE SIN. Why? Because this sin bears NO FRUIT.

As Tony has asked, above, pray much for the legal team that will now appeal this decision to the Supreme Court, and pray for the salvation of every man and woman who is bound by this vicious lie of the enemy.

- And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall on Adam, and he slept; and He took one of his ribs and closed up the flesh in its place, The the rib which the Lord God had taken from man He made into a woman, and He brought her to the man. And Adam said: 'This is now "bone of my bones And flesh of my flesh; She shall be called Woman, because she was take out of Man." (Gen. 2 v 21 - 23)

But fornication and all uncleanness or covetousness, let it not even be named among you, as is fitting for saints . . . For this you know, that no fornicator, unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God. (Eph. 5:3,5)

General warns of attacks on U.S. troops leaving Iraq

The top U.S. commander in Iraq warned Tuesday that Iranian-supported militants might try to attack U.S. soldiers as they leave the country this summer. Army Gen. Ray Odierno told reporters at a news briefing that U.S. forces had boosted security around their bases in response to the danger posed by an Iranian-backed group that he said had received special training in Iran and had returned to Iraq with Iranian advisors. "There has been some intelligence of some Iranian surrogates attempting to attack U.S. bases, which we're watching very carefully," Odierno said. "The people getting ready to conduct this attack went back and got special training in Iran and came back. And we knew that experts were sent from Iran into Iraq to help them do this in the last month or so." The small Shiite Muslim extremist group Kataib Hezbollah is believed to be planning these attacks, Odierno said. American commanders believe that Kataib Hezbollah is an Iranian proxy funded and controlled by Tehran. (LA Times).

Five arrested as FBI agents jet into Uganda

American security agents dispatched by the US government are in Uganda aiding investigations into Sunday night's terrorist attacks which killed 74 people who were watching the World Cup finals. Yesterday, officials said the death toll had risen to 76 after two more victims died in hospital. There were conflicting accounts yesterday about the number of people arrested in connection with the bombings; with a government minister putting the number of suspects at five, while a military official said at least eight people were apprehended. The official, a senior member of the Chieftaincy of Military Intelligence, spoke to Daily Monitor on condition of anonymity given the sensitive nature of the investigations.

But State Minister for Internal Affairs Matia Kasaija told Parliament that the government had arrested five people. He gave no further details about their nationality or where they were being detained but the military source said that the suspects were "nationals from three African countries", and they are being held at a location in Kampala. "None of the suspects talked in English," said the source. Police chief Kale Kayihura was tight-lipped about the arrests at a news conference yesterday morning. While he admitted that some arrests had been made, he gave no further details. (Daily Monitor-Uganda).

Americans joining terrorist groups in Somalia

A number of Americans have traveled to Somalia to join up with al Shabab as well as al Qaeda, according to a senior U.S. administration official. The official, in a background briefing with reporters on Tuesday evening, said this is something "we have watched very, very closely." Al Shabab has claimed responsibility for the bombings in the Ugandan capital Kampala on Sunday that claimed the lives of 76 people, including one American. The official said U.S. law enforcement is "very vigilant for any indication of individuals from Somalia coming here to the United States to engage in these types of extremist and terrorist activities." The Obama administration has indications to prove al Shabab was responsible for the attacks in Uganda, but the U.S. had no forewarning of these attacks. "Al Shabab was very much on our radar screen. . . but we didn't have any advance warning about that attack," the official said. (Washington Times).

A 2nd Christmas Attack, In NYC?

The failed bombing attempt over Detroit on Christmas Day may not have been the only attack that extremists planned for the 2009 holiday, with intelligence from overseas three weeks earlier indicating that a plot targeting New York City on the same day may have been in the works, according to an FBI report obtained by Fox News.

The final target of the attack was not known, but extremist members had allegedly discussed restaurants and night clubs located in New York City," the FBI's assistant legal attache in London wrote in a threat report dated Dec. 4, 2009. "The extremists allegedly discussed conducting the attack on 25 December, to coincide with the Christmas holiday." (Fox News).

63 U.S. Congressmen Defend National Day of Prayer

"The unprecedented bipartisan support for the group's amicus brief means that members of Congress are looking to ensure that the current Justice Department will vigorously defend the National Day of Prayer."

Washington, DC)-CNS News reports that 63 members of the House and four senators (both Republican and Democrat), members of the Congressional Prayer Caucus, have filed an amicus brief to defend the National Day of Prayer.

Jordan Sekulow, attorney at the American Center for Law and Justice (ACLJ) which is representing the congressmen, was quoted as saying the Establishment clause of the First Amendment protects the National Day of Prayer because it is not the call of, or for, a specific religion, it is not mandated, and there are no punishments for not participating.

"That goes back to, what I think the First Amendment is about, which is an establishment of a religion in the United States. That means you don't say that it is, for instance, the Baptist Day of Prayer, just the National Day of Prayer," Sekulow said. "Anyone or no one at all can pray in the way that they want to or not pray-there is no punishment for not taking part in the National Day of Prayer." (CNS News)
