1. "IN GOD WE TRUST" ENGRAVED IN CAPITOL VISITOR CENTER
More than a year after this fight began, out national motto, 'In God We Trust,' is finally engraved in the Capitol Visitor Center! Thank you for standing with Congressman Forbes and other Members of the Congressional Prayer Caucus to ensure that America's history is accurately portrayed. We look forward to standing with you and your organizations in the future as we work to protect religious liberty and recognize our spiritual heritage. (The Congressional Prayer Caucus)
- Join us in offering up a great chorus of PRAISE to the Most High God for this victory! He reigns!

2. U.S. FOREST SERVICE BANS USE OF THE NAME OF JESUS FROM "HOLIDAY TREE"
Agency forbids 'religious themes' on 5,000 decorations recognizing holiday
The U.S. Forest Service has banned the name of Jesus from decorations being assembled by children in Arizona for a blue spruce from the state that will become the Capitol Christmas Tree this year, and a legal firm is challenging the censorship. "Banning Christmas from the Capitol Christmas tree is just absurd. Christian students shouldn't be discriminated against for expressing their religious beliefs," said Jonathan Scruggs, litigation staff counsel for the Alliance Defense Fund. "The First Amendment does not allow government officials to exclude schoolchildren's ornaments for the Capitol's Christmas tree merely because they communicate a religious viewpoint," he said.
The organization has sent a letter to state and federal officials, including Arizona Gov. Janie Brewer, who are supervising the program, calling on them to stop enforcement of the prohibition. ADF set a deadline for response of Oct. 4, the day before all the ornaments must be turned in. (WORLDNETDAILY) Read more.
- Again, we see another example of disregard for our Constitution and the Bill of Rights! Pray that those in charge of making this restriction to free speech will be brought to shame for their attempt to bypass the 1st Amendment. They certainly do not know the religious history of this nation in their maneuvers to transform us into a secular, atheistic nation. Pray for the souls of these people, for it is Jesus who offends them.
• "The Son of Man will send out His angels, and they will gather out of His kingdom all things that offend, and those who practice lawlessness," (Matthew 13:41)
3. PUT AN END TO ENDA: EMPLOYMENT NON- DISCRIMINATION ACT (H.R. 3017)
Last week, the House Education and Labor Committee held a hearing on H.R. 3017, The Employment Non- Discrimination Act (ENDA) championed by Congresswoman Tammy Baldwin (D-WI) and Rep Barney Frank (D-MA). The witnesses were stacked 4-1 in favor of the bill. ENDA requires employers to hire and promote practicing lesbians, homosexuals, transvestites and other "gender confused" individuals, without regard for their sexual practices or perceived gender identity. Complaints will bring federal investigations, huge lawsuits and fines. This weekend Obama appointee John Berry, Director of the U.S. Office of Personnel Management, urged activists to make ENDA their "number one priority." He said passage of ENDA will advance repeal of DOMA (Defense of Marriage Act) and the repeal of "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" (which restricts open homosexuality in the military). "If we can get ENDA enacted and signed into law, it is only a matter of time before all the rest happens," he said. "It is the keystone that holds up the whole bunch, and so we need to focus our energies and attention there" (FRC Prayer Targets)
- Continue to pray fervently and recruit others to pray for the defeat of ENDA.
- "Shall I not punish them for these things?" says the LORD. "Shall I not avenge Myself on such a nation as this?" (Jer. 5:29)
4. SENATE PANEL REBUFFS OBAMA; RESTORES ABSTINENCE FUNDS
A Senate committee has voted to restore $50 million a year in federal funding for abstinence-only education that President Barack Obama had sought to eliminate.
- Thank the Father for this victory in education on abstinence. Rejoice that restoration to a godly virtue, abstaining from sex until marriage, will now be funded by the Federal Government. Ask God to forgive Mr. Obama for not understanding His truths and the heart of honor that God calls His people to walk in. (NewsMax)
- "And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God." (Romans 12:2)
5. THREE LEGISLATIVE INITIATIVES TO SUPPORT IN PRAYER
- Please pray for passage of the three strategic pieces of legislation, below. All are in the House of Representatives.
- "And all things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive." (Matt.21:22)
a. H. Con. Res. 192: STRIPPING ACORN OF ITS TAX-EXEMPT STATUS
Congressman Todd Tiahrt (R-KS) has offered a resolution in the House stating that ACORN should be stripped of its tax exempt status because of its numerous violations of the law. In his H.Con.Res. 192, Tiahrt lists various election law fraud cases against ACORN as well as its acceptance of funds from Obama's political campaign as reasons for the far left organization to lose its exemption. Since 1994 ACORN has received $53 million in funding, most of it while Republicans controlled Congress. Now that the Democrats are in control, the Republicans have figured out that ACORN is a criminal enterprise.
b. H. Res. 554: BILLS TO BE AVAILABLE FOR REVIEW 72 HOURS BEFORE VOTE
Rep. Frank Wolf (10th) today announced he is supporting a bipartisan effort that would give members of Congress and the American people at least 72 hours to review legislation before it is brought to the House floor for a vote. Wolf signed a "discharge petition" introduced today by Rep. Greg Waldren (R-OR), Rep. Brian Baird (D-OR), and Rep. John Culberson (R-TX) that would force a vote on H.Res. 554, which would amend the rules of the House to require that all non-emergency legislation be posted on the Internet in its final form for three days before a vote.
"Members of Congress and the American people should have ample time to review legislation before it is brought to the House floor for a vote," Wolf said. "This legislation would bring much-needed accountability and transparency to our government. "It was frustrating back in June when the House Rules Committee reported the final rule to consider the 'cap- and-trade' energy bill with 300 new pages added in the 'manager's amendment' at 3:47 a.m. on the day the bill was to be considered," Wolf continued. "It was irresponsible for the House leadership to give members so little time to read the bill."
c. H.R. 2207: THE INTERAGENCY COOPERATION COMMISSION (ICC) ACT
The Heritage Foundation released a report about the importance of interagency reform to homeland security. . . . (It stated that) to achieve a true competence in government and to adequately protect our homeland, we must have strategic cooperation and communication between government agencies.
I introduced H.R. 2207, the Interagency Cooperation Commission (ICC) Act. The bill would bring together officials from the Administration, Congress, and outside experts to recommend legislative and regulatory changes to improve the coordination of federal activities for major undertakings such as post-Katrina recovery, the government pandemic flu response, and coordinating government policy toward China and other countries. (Rep. Randy Forbes, R-VA)
6. CZAR OF THE WEEK: KEVIN JENNINGS
OPINION: KEVIN JENNINGS NEEDS TO RESIGN AS "SAFE SCHOOLS CZAR"
Family Research Council during the spring of 2008 was the first organization to highlight the radical record of Kevin Jennings, President Obama's choice for "safe schools czar." At the time, our concerns were met with little more than a yawn from the mainstream media. Today the spotlight is back on Kevin Jennings. Over the last two weeks, press outlets like FoxNews.com, Rush Limbaugh and Lou Dobbs have picked up the Jennings story, and the Washington Times ran an editorial demanding an answer regarding Jennings's appointment.
Of course, one of the most shocking pieces of news about Jennings is a story he's told himself (in different ways at different times) about a 15 year old student who came to him and confessed that he was having sex with older men in a bus station restroom. Instead of reporting the high-risk behavior to the boy's parents, school administrators or the police, Jennings's only response was, "I hope you knew to use a condom."
Jennings has shown a disregard for parental rights and for our children's well being, yet he is the President's choice to keep our schools safe! Safe for sexual predators it would seem!
Please contact your state school board and let them know that this is unacceptable, and they need to let the President know: it is time Kevin Jennings resigns! Thank you and God bless you.
(Tony Perkins, President, Family Research Council)
- "For among My people are found wicked men." (Jer 5:26a)
7. H.R. 3226: THE CZAR ACCOUNTABILITY AND REFORM (CZAR) ACT OF 2009
Last month, U.S. Representative Walter B. Jones (R- NC) joined Rep. Jack Kingston (R-GA) as a cosponsor of H.R. 3226: The Czar Accountability and Reform (CZAR) Act of 2009. This legislation would bring transparency to presidential appointments by withholding funding for any salaries or expenses of any task force, council, or similar office established by the President and headed by an individual who has been appointed without the advice and consent of the Senate.
Since taking office in January, President Obama has appointed as many as 34 different "czars" to oversee and implement various aspects of his agenda - from reforming the automobile industry to addressing global warming. Yet, only a handful of these czars have been confirmed by the United States as required by the Constitution (Article II, Section 2). When introducing the legislation, Rep. Kingston noted that czarist Russia had just 18 czars in 300 years. President Obama nearly doubled that number in seven months.(Office of Rep. Walter Jones)
- Pray for passage of this bill. Let us continue to pray that any "Czar" or Obama Administration official who would undermine the U.S. Constitution and destroy the United States as a constitutional Republic be exposed and removed. [Prayer offered by Intercessors for America.]
- "Take away the wicked from before the king, And his throne will be established in righteousness." (Prov. 25:5)

1. G-20 TAKES HELM OF WORLD ECONOMY
China is pushing for a new international reserve currency to replace the role of the U.S. dollar; devaluation looms.
The Group of 20 wealthy and developing nations, representing two thirds of the earth's population, declared their crisis-fighting efforts a success in Pittsburg and promised to give rising powers such as China more say in rebuilding and guiding the global economy. Leaders pledged to keep emergency economic supports in place until sustainable recovery is assured and to implement tougher rules governing banks by 2012.
China was particularly active at the Summit, campaigning for changes in the voting structure of the International Monetary Fund to give it more representation, as well as calling for a new international reserve currency to replace the dollar. Beijing would like to see a new global currency based on IMF's Special Drawing Right bonds. AFP reports that China, which holds $800 billion in US bonds, is concerned by the instability of the dollar and by the exploding US deficit. (Reuters; Intercessors for America)
2. INTERNET NOT UNDER U.S. CONTROL AS OF TODAY. IMPLICATIONS?
According to this article, oversight of the internet moved yesterday from the US Department of Commerce, to an outfit called Icann Governmental Advisory Committee. The body responsible for managing the development of the internet, Icann, has cut its umbilical cord to the US government, a move the European Union has been demanding for four years. The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers, which oversees domain names - the .com, .eu, .org and so on at the end of a web address - as of 30 September will no longer be subject to review by the US Department of Commerce.
Instead, independent review panels appointed by Icann Governmental Advisory Committee (Gac) and Icann itself with the involvement of governments around the world. will perform this task. Since 2005, the EU has been calling for reform of the governance of the internet, saying that the internet is a global resource and should not be tied to one national government - a position echoed by many other countries and a number of companies.
In June of this year, the European Commission raised the volume on the issue, publishing a policy document that an independent judicial body be set up, which information society commissioner Viviane Reding described at the time as a "G12 for internet governance," which would serve as a "multilateral forum for governments to discuss general internet governance policy and security issues." Wednesday's move comes close to satisfying the EU demands, and Ms Reding welcomed the development. (Euro Observer)
- Who asked the citizens of the USA if they wanted to join international control of the internet? Pray that confusion and mix ups will occur to prevent our coming under the domination of the EU. Much jealousy has occurred in the world toward the USA, and the desire is to bring down the USA to a manageable level. But if we repent for our sins and rebellion against God, He will hear our cries and save/heal our land.
- "If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land." (2 Chronicles 7 14)
3. ONLY ONE CALL TO HELP GENERAL MCCHRYSTAL
The budding Obama Olympic scandal might eventually compete with the escapades of past presidents. Most everyone knows by about the maneuvering by the president and his wife to help their Chicago cronies get the 2016 Olympics such as Mayor Bill Daley, Valerie Jarrett -- now in the White House after being number 2 on the "Bring the Olympics to Chicago, 2016" effort and owner of land near the place where the Chicago Olympics would be located -- and other assorted pals and land-owners where the Chicago Olympics will be located.
The First Lady took one of the White House's giant jumbo jets to fly to Copenhagen, Denmark, just one day before her husband flew "Air Force One," the hugely- expensive 747 jumbo jet -- think big carbon prints for two jumbo jets -- both to lobby the International Olympic Committee to award Chicago the 2016 Olympics.
This huge White House effort, mainly organized by Valerie Jarrett, contrasts with the amount of time which the president has spent to help our American troops win the war in Afghanistan. Indeed, a reporter on CBS' "60 Minutes" show last Sunday was absolutely astounded when told by General Stanley A. McChrystal, the commander of the American troops in Afghanistan, that he had only one phone call with the president in his first 70 days in Afghanistan.
This contrast between the Obama Olympic effort and the Obama Afghanistan effort obviously points out the misguided priorities of the Obama administration. A much bigger scandal, and a Pulitzer, are waiting for an enterprising Bob Woodward who just might want to find out what kind of riches would come to those cronies in and out of the Obama administration who might profit by the 2016 Olympics being awarded to probably the most corrupt city in the United States whose citizens do not even want the Olympics or do not want to be bothered with the huge tax increases, both domestic and federal, that they will have to pay. (Christian Coalition of America; Capitol Hill Update)
- Praise the Lord that the maneuvering did not bring laud and admiration to those involved. Again, we see the naivete of our young, totally inexperienced president who thinks of fun and games when he should be focused on survival, especially of his country that he swore to protect. Ask the Lord to remove from his view all issues that are trivial. Continue to pray for the patience of General McChrystal and for strategies to defeat the rebellious in Afghanistan.
- "When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan." (Proverbs 29:2)
4. AHMADINEJAD GOADS WEST OVER NEW NUKE SITE
Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad goaded the West on September 26 when he suggested to reporters in Tehran that news of an additional nuclear site unknown until now was a "blow to the arrogance [of the United States and other western nations]." Following revelation of the site, Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu called for immediate "crippling" action against Iran by the West.
Iran tried to defuse the new outrage when Vice President Ali Akbar Salehi announced that Tehran will permit an inspection of the newly revealed site by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). Salehi also said the hidden plant at Qom was built as a back- up to the main facilities in case they were attacked. but did not say when the [IAEA] inspection will take place.
Meanwhile, Iran began several days of weapons testing over the weekend. Two short-range missiles and a multiple-missile launcher were tested by the Revolutionary Guards, which announced the activities were to continue for several more days. (The Media Line)
- Continue to pray that the Lord will move mightily to hwart any attempt on the part of the Iranian government to bring to reality its threats against Israel; pray that Iran's nuclear program be brought to a swift end. Ask the Lord to bring confusion to those in leadership positions in Iran so that all their plans are paralyzed.
- "Do not keep silent, O God! Do not hold Your peace, and do not be still, O God! For behold, Your enemies make a tumult; and those who hate You have lifted up their head. They have taken crafty counsel against Your people, and consulted together against Your sheltered ones." (Psalm 83:1- 3)
5. ANTI-SEMITIC GOLDSTONE REPORT SUBMITTED TO UN HUMAN RIGHTS COUNCIL
The controversial report by the Goldstone inquiry into Israel's conduct during the Gaza war has been submitted to the United Nations Human Rights Council. The report accuses both Israel and Hamas of war crimes. Chief investigator Richard Goldstone, a judge from South Africa, urged the international community to end the "culture of impunity" for violations of international law in Israel and the "occupied Palestinian Territory." Speaking to the Human Rights Council, Goldstone defended his fact-finding mission on the Gaza conflict, which found that both Israel and Palestinian armed groups had committed actions which amounted to war crimes and possibly crimes against humanity.
He urged the council to refer the report to the UN Security Council, citing the fact that [he believed] neither Israel nor Hamas had carried out any internal investigations into Operation Cast Lead. Should parties fail to respond to Security Council demands, he said, the matter would be forwarded to the International Criminal Court. The lack of accountability for war crimes and possible crimes against humanity has reached a crisis point; the ongoing lack of justice is undermining any hope for a successful peace process and reinforcing an environment that fosters violence. Time and again, experience has taught us that overlooking justice only leads to increased conflict and violence."
Israel's UN Ambassador Aharon Leshno-Yaar described the report as "shameful," claiming it was one-sided, ignored Israel's right to self defense, and provided "support and vindication for terrorist tactics. Israel is committed to fully examining every allegation of wrongdoing, not because of this report, but despite it," Leshno-Yaar told the Human Rights Council.
The United States, which took part as a council member for the first time in the body's three-year existence, also criticized the Goldstone Report, according to Assistant Secretary of State Michael H. Posner. Washington also rejected the suggestion that the allegations be taken up by the Security Council in New York. ( World Jewish Congress)
• Pray that the vicious anti-Semitism contained in this report be revealed for what it is; that the nations of the world dismiss it, recognizing Israel's right to self defense as well as her integrity as a member of the international community. Pray also for the soul of Richard Goldstone, for he seems not to know the Bible nor God's words about Israel.
- "The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD and against His Anointed, saying, 'Let us break Their bonds in pieces and cast away Their cords from us.'" (Psalm 2:2-5)
6. CLINTON ISSUES HOLIDAY GREETINGS TO MOSLEMS, NOT JEWS
Both Jews and Muslims celebrated holidays in September 2009. However, the United States Consulate in Jerusalem - America's representative in Israel's capital - chose to focus entirely on Islam this year, while ignoring the Jewish holidays of Rosh HaShana and Yom Kippur completely. The Consulate's website features Eid il-Fitr greetings from U.S. President Barack Obama, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, and Consul General Daniel Rubinstein. Its staff was involved in Ramadan celebrations in Jenin and Shechem, and hosted a meal in Jericho for the Muslim holiday of Iftar. Clinton's greeting was published on September 19 - the first day of Rosh HaShana. However, no mention was made of the Jewish holiday.
All three holiday wishes from American leaders to Muslims were apolitical, and focused on messages such as "personal reflection" and "charity." In contrast, President Obama's Rosh HaShana greeting, which is not on the site, included a brief promotion of his Israel- Palestinian Authority peace plan.
The High Holidays snub follows an admission in August that the U.S. Consulate in Jerusalem views itself as America's representative to the PA, while the embassy in Tel Aviv is seen as the representative to Israel. Consulate staff explained that they are "the principal representation to the Palestinian Authority" in an email to a Jewish American concerned by the lack of balance in consulate events.
The admission angered many American citizens in Israel. America's apparent recognition of the PA's claim to rights in Jerusalem was seen as a slap in the face, particularly because America takes care not to recognize Israeli rights in the capital city despite more than 40 years of Israeli sovereignty in the greater Jerusalem area. The U.S. has repeatedly declined to move its embassy to Jerusalem, the seat of Israel's government, and American citizens born in Jerusalem are not registered as having been born in Israel.
The only mention of any autumn holidays, Jewish or Muslim, appears in the form of a video from a dinner hosted at the Ambassador's residence in celebration of Iftar. (IsraelNN.com)
• Again, what arrogance on the part of the State Department to ignore the holy days of Israel, its host country for two consulates! Who/what is behind such arrogance? Protest! Protest to our State Department and to our Congressmen/women. Quote Genesis 3:12 to them. Even if they do not read the Bible, the word "curse" will get their attention. Pray that the Lord forgives the USA for allowing these powers to be in the positions to insult Israel. Pray for the peace of Jerusalem.
- "Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,' Says the Lord of hosts." (Zechariah 4:6)
7. THIS JUST IN: ARAB THREATS CLOSE TEMPLE MOUNT
The Temple Mount is closed to both Arabs and Jews, though many of the latter wished to visit the site in honor of the Sukkot holiday. North of the holy site, at the Lion's Gate, some 250 Arabs rioted and hurled rocks and bottles at police. One policeman was lightly injured, and some arrests were made.
The site - the holiest site in Judaism - was closed by police after Islamic clerics called upon Arabs to "come and defend the Mount." The threat alone was enough to have the police do the job for them; the area was cordoned off and a helicopter was seen hovering above the Temple Mount.
A group of Arabs from central Israel was arrested on their way to Jerusalem.
Jewish activists on behalf of the Temple Mount protested peacefully against the closure in the area of the Mugrabi Gate, at the Western Wall plaza. "This is chutzpah and total surrender to Arab incitement," they said. Large police and Border Guard forces are deployed around them as well.
A week ago, on the eve of Yom Kippur, 12 police officers were injured in riots instigated by the Waqf [Muslim Trust that runs the Temple Mount.]
Yehuda Glick, a leading Temple Mount activist, noted, "The police fulfilled the Arabs' desire to keep the Jews away. They learned that if they throw rocks, then the Jews are prevented from coming. After last week's incident, the Temple Mount was closed to Jews, but Arabs were allowed in freely." (Israel National News)
- Commentary on this alert, written by Kathleen Mitchell, In the Cleft of the Rock Ministries:
Sara, Tomorrow is probably going to be the biggest day of the Feast for observant Jews to gather in the Old City to celebrate the holiday. Alerts have been released for all Americans and most Israelis to stay away from the Old City of Jerusalem tomorrow, as Islamic clerics and Hamas leaders have called for the Arab youths to come en masse to defend Al Aksa Mosque. Defend from what threat? There is none. This is a ploy to create an incident, to raise international outcry against the Jews, and sympathy for the Muslims. Evil is afoot in a very bold way. We all need to be praying. Here is an article from A7 News that was released today.
Shalom,
Kathleen
- Yes, Kathleen, we are praying with you today for the peace of Jerusalem. IT IS WRITTEN: "He who scatters has come up before your face. Man the fort! Watch the road! Strengthen your flanks! Fortify your power mightily. For the LORD will restore the excellence of Jacob Like the excellence of Israel." (Nahum 2:1-2)

Office of Personnel Management, urged activists to make ENDA their "number one priority." - Thank the Father for this victory in education on abstinence. Rejoice that restoration to a godly virtue, abstaining from sex until marriage, will now be funded by the Federal Government.

Israel is committed to fully examining every allegation of wrongdoing, not because of this report, but despite it," Leshno-Yaar told the Human Rights Council.
This Week, Worship Our Lord As . . .
GOD MOST HIGH (Eloheem Elyon)
"I cry out to God Most High, to God who fulfills His purpose for me." (Psalm 57:2)
I cry out to You, for You hear me and Your ear is not deaf to my cry. O God, You know my heart cry, and only You can fill that empty place inside. By faith, I will wait for Your hand of deliverance, God Most High.
