"Standing United Together . . . Under the Cross of Christ"

An Urgent Message from Rick Ridings

A CALL TO FAST AND PRAY
THIS COMING WEEKEND

Humbling Ourselves to Pray for Key Leaders to Humble Themselves
Many times in the Scriptures, when Satan could not take out a leader being used by the Lord by external physical attack, he then tried to attack that leader in an area of weakness, often using pride to try to bring them down.

Along with large numbers of intercessors, I have been praying against assassinations, airplanes crashes, etc. for two leaders who seem to have a "Cyrus" anointing to help fulfill the purposes of the Lord in our generation, particularly concerning Israel.

I sense an urgency in my spirit that we as intercessors need to humble ourselves before the Lord and pray for a release of the spirit of humility upon President Trump and Prime Minister Netanyahu, two men who are as imperfect as "King Cyrus", yet whom have been used in significant ways to set back the globalist, spirit of anti-Christ agenda. I believe they are both in very strategic seasons of decisions that will affect how long a "window of mercy" is held open, not only for America and Israel, but also for the shifting of many nations.

Therefore I am encouraging intercessors to join us in a 3 day fast from Saturday, August 31 - Monday, September 2. This is at the start of the serious campaigning before the elections to be held in Israel on September 17. It also would start at the beginning of the Hebrew month of Elul. Although this is the last month of the Hebrew civil calendar, in the biblical calendar, it is the sixth month. In Haggai 1:1, on the first day of the sixth month, the word of the Lord came through the prophet Haggai to the leaders to repent, and to finish the task to which the Lord had called them.

As to Prime Minister Netanyahu, I believe the Lord gave me a word in June concerning him (and also for his wife, Sarah). Just before I got up to share it in Succat Hallel, our friend Avi Mizrachi, a prophetic messianic Jewish pastor and leader in the Land, prayed something quite similar. Here is what I felt the Lord had spoken to me:

Prime Minister Netanyahu is in a time of great breaking and humbling. How he responds will determine whether he wins the September 17th election . . . Will he become a Saul or a David? Saul responded to breaking by grasping control. David yielded control. Netanyahu is still in the balance. Do not curse him as a Saul, but pray during this season for mercy upon Netanyahu that he may make the right responses and become a David and not a Saul.

As to President Trump, I was stirred by something recently shared by our friend, messianic leader Shira Sorko-Ram, co-founder with her husband, Ari Sorko-Ram, of Maoz Ministries:

"The President retweeted some neurotic radio host who said of Trump, 'the Jewish people in Israel love him like he's the king of Israel' and 'they love him like he is the second coming of God.' Yes, President Trump is popular in Israel - very popular. But what the president tweeted is near blasphemy, if not wholly blasphemous. We cannot give up on him but we must recognize that this is very serious for him and for America and for Israel.
We do not want to see him to go from an example of a King Cyrus to a King Nebuchadnezzar. We know what happened to that king when he said, 'Is not this great Babylon, that I have built . . . by my mighty power and for the honor of my majesty?'"
I would encourage us all first of all humble ourselves, and then to pray from a spirit of humility, and not judgment, for these two leaders who have been so used to further the Lord's purposes for a spirit of humility and the fear of the Lord. And for those from other nations who read this, I encourage you to add the leader of your nation, that they might position themselves to receive the grace of the Lord to lead as they humble themselves under His mighty hand.
2 Chronicles 7:14: "If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their sin."

James 4:6, 10: "But he gives us more grace. That is why Scripture says: 'God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble.' Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up."

We want to thank our brother, Rick Ridings, for releasing this word to the Body of Christ, and we stand in agreement and support of this call to fasting and prayer over this holiday weekend.

May God's perfect will be done in the lives of both President Donald John Trump and Israeli President Benjamin Netanyahu now, and always. Amen.

Hurricane Dorian

Hurricane Dorian roars toward Florida as state of emergency declared

Hurricane Dorian is moving through the Caribbean and is expected to bring heavy rains to the Bahamas, Florida and the southeast U.S. by this coming weekend, the National Weather Service said, urging people in its potential path to start preparing.

Dorian is currently sustaining winds at about 80 miles per hour and is moving northwest at 13 miles per hour, the National Hurricane Center said. Forecasters have warned the Category 1 hurricane could grow in strength to a major Category 3 storm before potential Florida landfall.

The National Hurricane Center said Dorian was still moving away from Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands on Wednesday night as of 8 p.m. ET, and hurricane warnings and watches for those areas were discontinued. The storm is still expected to strengthen into a powerful hurricane in the Atlantic over the next few days.
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis declared a state of emergency on Wednesday for counties in Hurricane Dorian's path.

"It's important for Floridians on the East Coast to monitor this storm closely," DeSantis said. "Every Florida resident should have seven days of supplies, including food, water and medicine, and should have a plan in case of disaster. I will continue to monitor Hurricane Dorian closely with emergency management officials. The state stands ready to support all counties along the coast as they prepare."

President Trump declared a state of emergency in Puerto Rico on Tuesday ahead of the storm's expected arrival.

"The President's action authorizes the Department of Homeland Security, Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), to coordinate all disaster relief efforts which have the purpose of alleviating the hardship and suffering caused by the emergency on the local population, and to provide appropriate assistance for required emergency measures," the White House said.

"We are tracking closely tropical storm Dorian as it heads, as usual, to Puerto Rico. FEMA and all others are ready, and will do a great job," Trump tweeted Tuesday. (Fox News) Read more.

AccuWeather increases its predicted total damage from Hurricane Dorian

Overnight, Dorian re-developed about 50-60 miles north yesterday and the track shifted about 60-70 miles to the east. As a result, AccuWeather now estimates the total damage and economic loss caused by Hurricane Dorian will be $12-15 billion, according to AccuWeather Founder and CEO Dr. Joel N. Myers, based on an analysis incorporating independent methods to evaluate all direct and indirect impacts of the storm based on a variety of sources.

The estimate includes damage to homes and businesses, their contents and cars, as well as job and wage losses, infrastructure damage, costs to the travel and tourism industry, and auxiliary business losses.
With its overnight change in track, Dorian now will be a 3 on the AccuWeather RealImpact Scale for Hurricanes due to rainfall of 4 to 8 inches that can lead to flash flooding and storm surge flooding along the coast, the potential for widespread power outages and structural damage. The National Hurricane Center has issued a number of watches and warnings; both Puerto Rico and the U.S Virgin Islands were under a hurricane watch as of Wednesday. (Accuweather.com) Read more
- Father God, once again we turn to You, Holy One, asking You to turn the wind and the waves of this storm out to sea. We pray for the safety of all who are now in the path of this increasingly dangerous storm, in Jesus' name, amen.

A Senate Resignation

Georgia GOP Sen. Isakson to resign at end of year,
amid battle with Parkinson's

Republican Sen. Johnny Isakson, the chairman of the Senate Veterans Affairs Committee and a longtime Georgia lawmaker, announced Wednesday that he will resign at the end of the year. In a statement, the 74-year-old Isakson cited his battle with Parkinson's disease.

"I am leaving a job I love because my health challenges are taking their toll on me, my family and my staff," he said. "My Parkinson's has been progressing, and I am continuing physical therapy to recover from a fall in July. In addition, this week I had surgery to remove a growth on my kidney."

Isakson last month was hospitalized following a fall at his Washington apartment that left him with fractured ribs.

"With the mounting health challenges I am facing, I have concluded that I will not be able to do the job over the long term in the manner the citizens of Georgia deserve," the longtime Georgia lawmaker said in his statement. "It goes against every fiber of my being to leave in the middle of my Senate term, but I know it's the right thing to do on behalf of my state."
With his resignation, Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp, a Republican, will now have to appoint a replacement for Isakson until a special election can be held in 2020. The winner of that election will serve the remaining two years of Isakson's term, and the winner of the 2022 election will serve a full six-year term.

Isakson's retirement also means that voters in Georgia will have to cast a ballot for both of the state's Senate seats next year as Sen. David Perdue, a Republican, is seeking a second term in office. (Fox News) Read more

- Father God, we lift up Senator Isakson before Your Throne of Grace, asking for healing in mind, body and soul. We bless this precious servant of the people of Georgia, and we honor him for his courage in standing down at this time. We ask divine wisdom be granted to Georgia Governor Brian Kemp as he chooses the next man or woman who will next fill this seat in the United States Senate, amen.

- "Give me from among you, of your tribes, wise and understanding and expert men, and I will make them the head over you." (Deuteronomy 1:13)

About CHPP

About Capitol Hill Prayer Partners

Our Mission Statement

Capitol Hill Prayer Partners (CHPP) is a ministry which is positioned on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., helping members of the Body of Christ to "pray for those in authority over us" in our federal government. Our primary purpose is to offer intercession on site for the members of Congress and their staffs each day that the Senate and the House of Representatives are in session; and our chief prayer focus is that "God's will be done in earth, as it is in heaven." [Matthew 6:10].

Because Jesus Christ has shed His blood for all, we, too, pray for ALL, in a nonpartisan manner. Also, because the scriptures indicate that "the effectual, fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much" (James 4:17), we are confident that fervent prayer, offered in the halls of the highest chambers of government in our land, can avail much for America. Capitol Hill Prayer Partners welcomes those who feel called to join us, engaging in this strategic work of intercession for our nation: "For there is no power but of God; the powers that be are ordained of God." [Romans 13:1]
