1. Iron Dome intercepts two rockets fired at Israel from Gaza - IDF - Times of Israel

Israel's Iron Dome anti-missile system intercepted two rockets fired from the Gaza Strip at Israel on Wednesday, amid increased tensions in the south of the country following repeated attacks, the army said.

A third rocket fired out of the Palestinian enclave Wednesday night hit an open field in the Eshkol region, the military added.

There were no immediate reports of injuries or damage caused by the projectiles themselves, but two people were treated for anxiety attacks and a man in his 30s lightly injured his leg while running to a rocket shelter, the Magen David Adom rescue service said.

2. IAF strikes Hamas targets in Gaza - Israel National News

The Israel Air Force on Wednesday night attacked three targets in Gaza belonging to the Hamas terrorist organization and which serve as training and storage sites for weapons.

The IDF Spokesperson's Unit said that the airstrike was in retaliation for the rocket fire on communities in southern Israel on Wednesday evening.

"The State of Israel will not allow any attempts to harm its citizens and will continue to protect them and its sovereignty in a sharp and decisive manner," the statement said.

3. Muslim countries demand: "Recognize the State of Palestine and East Jerusalem as its occupied capital" - Jerusalem Online

After a lengthy discussion and many statements condemning the US recognition of Jerusalem as Israel's capital, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) released a declaration expressing its opposition to the "illegal decision."

The Muslim forum wrote in its declaration on Wednesday that the member-states are calling on the international community to "recognize the State of Palestine and East Jerusalem as its occupied capital." In addition, they said that the US should officially step down from its role in the peace process, adding that they regard the American decision itself as "an announcement of the US Administration's withdrawal from its role as sponsor of peace."

4. Erdogan Invokes Islamic Text Sanctioning Killing Jews at Party Convention - Algemeiner

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan invoked a Muslim hadith commonly used by Hamas and other terrorist supporters to sanction the killing of Jews, during a party convention last Sunday.

"[T]hose who think they own Jerusalem better know that tomorrow they won't be able to hide behind trees," Erdogan said, according to a translation by dissident Turkish journalist Abdullah Bozkurt. Last year, Erdogan shut down Bozkurt's former newspaper, Today's Zaman, which had Turkey's largest circulation.

"[This is] a veiled threat of killing each and every Jew with a shocking reference to apocalyptic prophecy of tree story," Bozkurt wrote.

5. West Bank clashes: 3 Palestinians injured, several arrested - Jerusalem Online

Clashes between Israeli security forces and Palestinians erupted Wednesday in several West Bank areas. According to Palestinian media outlets, three people were injured during riots in the Yitzhar junction and Qalqilya areas.

IDF forces were also dispatched to the Palestinian city of Al-Bireh near Ramallah, where Palestinian protesters were lighting tires on fire and blocking the main road. Several protesters were arrested near Ramallah. In addition, violent clashes were reported in the Palestinian city of Huwara.

6. Netanyahu to be questioned for seventh time in the coming days - Jerusalem Post

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will be questioned in the coming days of the seventh time by police over involvement in corruption Cases 1000 (the "gifts affair") and 2000 (the "Yediot Aharonot affair").

Some media reports - including The Jerusalem Post's Hebrew-language sister publication Maariv - maintain that the questioning will take place on Friday morning.

The prime minister is suspected of taking bribes, fraud and breach of trust. In Case 1000, Netanyahu received expensive gifts from various businessmen, and police are checking whether he gave them anything in return.

In Case 2000, Netanyahu allegedly negotiated with Yediot Aharonot publisher Arnon "Noni" Mozes for favorable coverage in exchange for support of a bill to weaken Israel Hayom, the largest circulation Hebrew-language paper and Yediot's biggest competitor.

The Daily Brief

1. Trump blesses 21 percent corporate tax rate, clears way for final tax deal - Washington Times

President Trump said Wednesday he would be willing to accept a 21 percent corporate income tax rate, giving his blessing to what appears to be the crux of an emerging deal on the GOP's tax-cut package. The 21 percent rate, while down from the current 35 percent tax, is higher than the 15 percent Mr. Trump had originally sought and a tick up from the 20 percent compromise lawmakers had reached last month. But the president said it still marks a major cut. "If it got down to 21, I would certainly be thrilled," he said while meeting with GOP negotiators at the White House.

Mr. Trump also said he wants to see a vote next week, saying voters deserve quick action on a tax cut. He said the timing has nothing to do with the GOP's loss of a Senate seat from Alabama, which will slim their majority from 52-48 to 51-49 when the new Democratic winner is seated. Mr. Trump said that some Republicans were happy with the loss by embattled GOP candidate Roy Moore, but he said he would have preferred Mr. Moore win to help boost the party's numbers. (Read more)

- Father, we pray for quick, final passage of this important legislation.

- Do not delay me, since the Lord has prospered my way. (Genesis 24:56)

2. 'We Can't Take That Risk' - FBI Officials Discussed 'Insurance Policy' Against Trump Presidency - Daily Caller

Two FBI officials who worked on Special Counsel Robert Mueller's Russia investigation exchanged text messages last year in which they appear to have discussed ways to prevent Donald Trump from being elected president. "I want to believe the path you threw out for consideration in Andy's office - that there's no way [Trump] gets elected - but I'm afraid we can't take that risk," FBI counterintelligence official Peter Strzok wrote in a cryptic text message to Lisa Page, an FBI lawyer and his mistress. "It's like an insurance policy in the unlikely event you die before you're 40," Strzok wrote in the text, dated Aug. 15, 2016. Andy is likely Deputy FBI Director Andrew McCabe.

The text message is one of 375 released Tuesday night ahead of a House Judiciary Committee hearing with Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein. Several congressional panels have sought the text messages since their existence was revealed earlier this month. Strzok, who was a top investigator on both the Trump investigation and the Clinton email probe, was kicked off of Mueller's team over the summer after the text messages were discovered. (Read more)

- Father, we thank You for uncovering this information and we pray the House Judiciary Committee will pursue all of the malfeasance performed by our federal employees.

- Their malice may be concealed by deception, but their wickedness will be exposed in the assembly. (Proverbs 26:26)

3. Fusion GPS Tied To Story Used By Clinton Campaign To Attack Trump Week Before The Election - Daily Caller

A new report ties Fusion GPS to a flawed (but sensational) story claiming nefarious ties between the Trump Organization and a Russian bank, which Hillary Clinton's campaign immediately used to attack Republican nominee Donald Trump a week before the 2016 election. On October 31, 2016, Slate's Franklin Foer wrote a story alleging secret communications between Trump's company and Russian bank Alfa. Foer's story cited a group of computer scientists who claimed to have proof of server pings between Alfa's server and a Trump hotel server. Foer's piece argued that the server pings represented a secret line of communication between Trump and the Russians.

That story, which failed to pass follow-up media scrutiny, originated with Fusion GPS, The Washington Times reported on Sunday. The explanation for the server pings appears to be spam from a third-party marketing company used by Trump's organization, a follow-up investigation from The Intercept revealed. (Read more)

- Father, we pray You would reward media organizations who are truly doing great investigative journalism. May every person who conspired against Trump be held accountable.

- Let these false prophets tell their dreams, but let my true messengers faithfully proclaim my every word. There is a difference between straw and grain!
(Jeremiah 23:28)

4. Obama IG guy flags 'strategic coordination' of State, Clinton on emails - Washington Times

Here's something you don't hear every day - but an inspector general who was actually appointed by Barack Obama told Tucker Carlson of Fox News that there was "strategic coordination" taking place among the State Department, Campaign Team Hillary Clinton, certain key legal minds and politicos on Capitol Hill, regarding the behind-scenes talk of The Emails. Yes, those emails - the ones that were marked classified and top secret and that were found on Clinton's private and unsecured email system.

From the mouth of former Inspector General Charles McCullough III, as reported by Mediaite: "I'm well aware there was a strategic coordination between the campaign, the State Department, certain officials at the State Department, certain law firms in town and people on Capitol Hill." McCullough, for instance, claimed he faced "personal backlash" while investigating the emails on the 2016 campaign trail - and that when he told then-DNI head James Clapper that he found Clinton's email correspondences "extremely reckless," nothing but coverup ensued. (Read more)

- Father, in light of all these revelations, we pray You would amplify former Inspector General McCullough's testimony and help him finish the job he was prevented from doing.

- I will cry to God Most High, to God Who finishes all things for me. (Psalm 57:2)

5. Chuck Grassley tells Trump to 'reconsider' two judicial nominees - Washington Examiner

Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley told President Trump to "reconsider" two of his judicial nominees. The Iowa Republican "advised the White House they ought to reconsider" the nominations of Jeff Mateer and Brett Talley, according to CNN. "I've advised the White House they ought to reconsider," Grassley said as he left a committee hearing on Wednesday. "I would advise the White House not to proceed."

The Senate has moved swiftly to seat Trump's federal judicial nominees, to the approval of conservatives. Talley has already been approved by the Senate Judiciary Committee, and Mateer's nomination is still awaiting committee approval. Mateer has been nominated to serve on the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, and has come under fire for speeches in 2013 and 2014 in which he invoked the Nazis, as well as a pair of speeches in 2015 in which he said transgender children are part of "Satan's plan." Talley, nominated to the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Alabama, has reportedly never tried a case. He also failed to disclose on publicly available congressional documents that he is married to the chief of staff to White House Counsel Donald McGahn. (Read more)

- Father, we pray President Trump will continue to have favor with judicial appointments. Help him screen nominees effectively before sending their names to the Senate.

- The way of the Lord is a stronghold for the honorable, but destruction awaits the malicious. (Proverbs 10:29)

6. New York Catholic Archdiocese Pays $40 Million to Sexual Abuse Victims - Christian Post

The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of New York announced that it paid out approximately $40 million to victims of sexual abuse by clergy. In an update released last Thursday, the archdiocese noted that its Independent Reconciliation and Compensation Program resolved the claims of 189 victims, totaling $40,050.000. "There are additional claims which were made prior to the November 1 application deadline that are still being processed by the program administrators," noted the archdiocese.

"The report also provides a summary of the Church's efforts to combat the scourge of sexual abuse of minors, which have resulted in the Church being a leader in the prevention of abuse, and in the care for victim-survivors."

The archdiocese also labeled its program a "success," adding that "the Church is now a model in how to respond to this horror. Many of the victim-survivors have expressed their gratitude that the Church extended an invitation, listened, and responded with compassion and understanding," continued the archdiocese. "All left knowing that the Archdiocese of New York was willing to make a genuine act of reparation for the harm that was done to them." (Read more)

- Father, we pray for the Catholic Church, to effectively lift up the Name of Jesus and honor Him as Lord of all. May their renewed witness bring many to salvation.

- You, O God, are my king from ages past, bringing salvation to the earth.
(Psalm 74:12)

7. Mueller team just sent up 'monster red flag' - WND

A top lawyer in Texas says the investigation by special counsel Robert Mueller appears to be nothing more than effort to charge people with crimes unrelated to Russian meddling in the 2016 campaign. He also said recent revelations of rampant partisanship on the part of prosecutors on Mueller's team ought to be the death blow to the probe.

Robert Henneke served an assistant attorney general and a top litigator for former Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott. He is now general counsel and president of the Center for the American Future at the Texas Public Policy Foundation. (Read more)

- Father God . . . God of justice . . . we ask that any and all "tricks" that had been set in place to challenger the legitimacy of Donald Trump's mandate to serve as the President of the United States be found out and destroyed. We ask that those who have perpetrated these schemes will also be brought to justice. In Your Name, amen.

- "For I, the LORD, love justice, and I hate robbery and iniquity; . . ." (Is. 61:8)

8. Top Trump lawyer Sekulow calls for new special counsel to probe DOJ's dossier dilemma - Fox News

A top member of President Trump's outside legal team called Tuesday for the appointment of a separate special prosecutor to look into potential conflicts of interest involving Justice Department and FBI officials.

Jay Sekulow made the call following a Fox News report revealing that the wife of a DOJ official demoted for concealing his meetings with the firm behind the anti-Trump "dossier" herself worked for the same firm, Fusion GPS, during the 2016 election.

Sekulow told Fox News that a special prosecutor should be appointed to look into these issues. "The Department of Justice and FBI cannot ignore the multiple problems that have been created by these obvious conflicts of interests. These new revelations require the appointment of a Special Counsel to investigate," Sekulow also told Axios. (Read more)

- First of all, Lord, we thank You that Jay Sekulow has been appointed an advisor to the President, for we know that Mr. Sekulow is a man of God. We ask that Congress grant him favor in requesting the appointment of a new Special Counsel for the "dossier" investigation -- one who is free from entanglements in this case. Thank You, Lord, for hearing our prayer, amen.

- "The LORD is far from the wicked, But He hears the prayer of the Righteous." (Proverbs 15:29)

9. The military's biggest raise in 8 years - The White House

President Donald J. Trump has signed the National Defense Authorization Act for fiscal year 2018, which approves one of the largest defense spending increases since the Reagan presidency to help rebuild America's Armed Forces.

Here is a quick list of what the NDAA does for America's military: (Read more)

- Father, we offer praise for this funding bill, that will greatly enhance the strength of our military forces. Once again, this president IS working to "Make America Great Again," amen!

- "Let everything that hath breath praise the Lord." (Psalm 150:6)

10. Despite Trump's Recognition, State Department Still Considers Jerusalem Stateless - Breaking Israel News

Despite US President Donald Trump's landmark speech acknowledging Jerusalem as Israel's capital, his State Department has not changed its policy regarding the Israeli status of the city.

As per State Department policy, American citizens born in Jerusalem have their place of birth listed on their passports as 'Jerusalem', with no country assigned. A State Department official told reporters on Friday that while the US recognizes the Israeli capital, there would be no changes to consular practices or visa issuances, and does not necessarily mean that Jerusalem is considered as being within the borders of Israel.

"The specific boundaries of Israeli sovereignty in Jerusalem are subject to final status negotiations. The United States is not taking a position on boundaries or borders," a State Department representative told Associated Press. "With respect to maps, we are, of course, examining that issue, and when we have a decision we will announce it with respect to how we will treat Jerusalem for official USG-produced mapping purposes."

The Zionist Organization of America (ZOA), the oldest pro-Israel organization in the US, issued a statement last week calling on the State Department to change their policy, asking that it "act in conformance" with Trump's declaration. (Read more)

- Father God, we offer a prayer of repentance for the stubbornness demonstrated in this report in the hearts of the employees of the U.S. Department of State. We ask you to forgive them for not obeying our "king" in this critical matter, and that You would align their minds to come into agreement with President Trump's recent, historic declaration that we do recognize Jerusalem as the capital city of the nation of Israel. Amen.

- "Honour all men. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honour the king." (I Peter 2:17)

11. Pence, an architect of Jerusalem recognition, plans triumphant visit - Jerusalem Post

Over the course of six weeks, as staff for Vice President Mike Pence consulted with Palestinian officials in Washington to plan meetings and fashion an itinerary for his December trip to the West Bank, Pence himself was quietly pushing President Donald Trump to recognize Jerusalem as Israel's capital - a move the Palestinians now believe rendered their conversations moot.

Pence and his team were not surprised when Palestinian Authority leadership called off their meetings in the wake of Trump's December 6 announcement on Jerusalem - and have already filled in much of his scheduled day in Bethlehem with alternative plans, senior administration officials tell The Jerusalem Post.

Sources say little effort was made to salvage the meetings, and there has been virtually no direct communication between Pence's staff and Palestinian officials since the two sides began sniping over the Jerusalem decision in the press.

- Father, we thank You that Vice-President Mike Pence will be going to Israel as the emissary of President Trump. We ask You to keep him safe throughout his upcoming journey, in Your name, amen.

- " If you ask anything in My name, I will do it." (John 14:14)

Democrats emboldened

Doug Jones is the new Democratic Senator from Alabama. He beat Roy Moore by a small margin in Tuesday's special election. The Democratic Party believes this is historical in that Jones is the first Democratic senator elected in the state in some 25 years, it is believed to be a rejection of President Donald Trump's agenda, and an indicator of how democrats will make great gains in the upcoming midterm elections. If you are a Democrat, this is all good news. If you are a Republican, it's bad news. If you are an American, the election was historic in a very bad way. The recruitment of reputable people to run for office will become far more difficult in this vile environment. Bad may well beget worse.

There have been many accusations against candidates for sexual impropriety over the centuries. Many remember the rumors flying about Franklin Roosevelt, Dwight Eisenhower, John F. Kennedy, Lyndon Johnson, George HW Bush, Bill Clinton, and so on. But nothing on the political landscape has matched the accusations of a sexual nature that have occurred in recent years. For some reason, the mere mention of sexual harassment, unproven, innuendo, or whatever has become the Achilles Heal to bring candidates down. Make the accusation, get the story, repurpose the story for mass media, and the firestorm begins that never ends.

Politics never has been a clean game. But the level to which it has now fallen is compounded and weaponized by 24/7 news media. Complicating matters even more is a news media that is predominately leftist. The news cycles are very competitive and try to "one-up" each other, causing a din of leftist rhetoric, rarely fact checked, emotionally driven and without concern for truth, facts, context or human decency. Any self-respecting person with a desire to do what is right in the eyes of the Lord, governed by the Golden Rule, would have to think long and hard before entering the sordid ring of politics where he will be accused of things his mind probably couldn't even comprehend. This is the nation we are living in.

This causes a downward spiral of the quality of candidates and their character. Wait to see-President Trump will be accused repeatedly for sexual harassment. This will not go away. It will stymie the business of the nation, grind the good things government could do (tax relief, border security, regulation reduction, etc.) to a standstill. The angry, misinformed, disingenuous, evil ones who believe victory is theirs will be further emboldened thinking this vile way of conducting politics is working to their advantage. As Christian Americans, we must be ever vigilant to understand our purpose and not be deceived. As is written in James 1:22, "But you be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves." Stay true to the Lord. He has us in the palm of his hand, but we cannot be complacent, we must be doers.

Have a Blessed and Powerful Day!

Tax Reform Breakthrough

AP Sources:

House, Senate Leaders Agree in Principle on Tax Package;

May be Revealed This Week

House and Senate GOP leaders forged an agreement Wednesday on a sweeping overhaul of the nation's tax laws, paving the way for final votes next week to slash taxes for businesses and give many Americans modest tax cuts starting next year.

Top GOP aides said lawmakers had reached an agreement in principle on the final package. They spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to talk publicly about private negotiations.

Details still need to be drafted and assessed by congressional scorekeepers, but the final House-Senate compromise is on track to be unveiled this week, the aides said.

Asked if there is a deal in principle on the tax cuts, Sen. Orrin Hatch, R-Utah, said, "It's more than that. I think we've got a pretty good deal."

The measure would give President Donald Trump his first major victory in Congress. It fulfills a longstanding goal by top Republicans such as Speaker Paul Ryan to rewrite the loophole-cluttered tax code. (Newsmax) Read more.

O LITTLE TOWN OF BETHLEHEM

"But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah,
Though you are little among the thousands of Judah,
Yet out of you shall come forth to Me
The One to be Ruler in Israel,
Whose goings forth are from of old,
From everlasting."
(Micah 5:2)

Lyrics
O little town of Bethlehem, how still we see thee lie! Above thy deep and dreamless sleep the silent stars go by. Yet in thy dark streets shineth the everlasting Light; The hopes and fears of all the years are met in thee tonight.

For Christ is born of Mary, and gathered all above, While mortals sleep, the angels keep their watch of wondering love. O morning stars together, proclaim the holy birth, And praises sing to God the King, and peace to men on earth!

How silently, how silently, the wondrous Gift is giv'n; So God imparts to human hearts the blessings of His Heav'n. No ear may hear His coming, but in this world of sin, Where meek souls will receive Him still, the dear Christ enters in.

Where children pure and happy pray to the blessèd Child, Where misery cries out to Thee, Son of the mother mild; Where charity stands watching and faith holds wide the door, The dark night wakes, the glory breaks, and Christmas comes once more.

O holy Child of Bethlehem, descend to us, we pray; Cast out our sin, and enter in, be born in us today. We hear the Christmas angels the great glad tidings tell; O come to us, abide with us, our Lord Emmanuel!

The Striking 3-Word Message Left by This 6-Year-Old Sandy Hook Victim
That Helped His Mom Forgive

[Faithwire.com] Five years ago, on a crisp December morning, 20-year-old Adam Lanza went into his mother's room and shot her four times in the head, killing her instantly. The deranged man then drove to Sandy Hook Elementary School, stormed in through the front doors, and began to open fire upon the unsuspecting six and seven-year-old children starting their school day.

Lanza murdered 20 young kids along with six staff members. The senseless brutality of the crime is almost inconceivable and left this small-town Connecticut community in absolute ruins. As first responders closed in, Lanza realized there was no way out and turned his weapon on himself.

There would be no justice in this horrific crime. No-one would be held to account-only the languishing pain of the grieving would serve as a reminder of that fateful day. I don't know about you, but when the news broke of the shooting, my immediate reaction was utter fury-an unadulterated rage over the fact that this sick individual could "get away" with such an evil and heinous crime.
Remarkably, however, over the five years that have elapsed, some of the parents of those killed have been making a conscious effort to forgive Lanza. One of them is Scarlett Lewis, the mother of murdered six-year-old Jesse Lewis, who helped save the lives of many of his classmates on that fateful day. (Read more)
