Christmas Arrives at the White House!

Focus on Israel

1. Rather than disarm, Hamas vows to attack Israel- Times of Israel

GAZA CITY - Palestinian terror movement Hamas again refused to disarm on Monday ahead of a key reconciliation deadline, instead threatening to carry out attacks against Israel in the West Bank.

By Friday, the Islamists are due to hand over control of the Gaza Strip to the internationally recognized Palestinian government, based in the West Bank city of Ramallah.

But the future of their armed wing, the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, remains unclear.

"The weapons of the resistance are a red line that is non-debatable," Khalil al-Hayya, deputy head of Hamas in Gaza, told a press conference, referring to the Qassam Brigades.

2. Iran-backed militia in Syria says it's 'fully prepared' to battle Israel - Times of Israel

The head of a large Iranian-backed Iraqi militia that has been fighting in Syria said his group was "fully prepared" to fight Israel if Damascus asked it to.

Sheikh Akram al-Ka'abi, the leader of Iraq's Hezbollah al-Nujaba, told the Lebanese news network Al Mayadeen Friday night his group would participate in a Damascus-led attack on Israel's Golan Heights. "We are fully prepared to participate in any war with the Syrian Arab Army to liberate the Golan if the Syrian state agrees or requests so," Ka'abi said.

3. Knesset approves first reading of 'Recommendations Law' - Israel National News

The Knesset on Monday evening approved the first reading of the so-called "Recommendations Law", which would prohibit the police from making recommendations for and against prosecution at the end of an investigation.

46 MKs voted in favor of the bill, which was proposed by MK David Amsalem (Likud), and 37 voted against it. MK Benny Begin (Likud), who opposes the legislation, was in attendance but did not participate in the vote.

The bill will be returned to the Knesset's Internal Affairs Committee, where it will be prepared for its second and third readings.

4. EU to Israel: Halt razing of Palestinian structures - Jerusalem Post

The European Union has called on Israel to halt its demolition of Palestinian structures in the West Bank after the IDF issued orders against three Palestinian herding communities.

"The EU missions in Jerusalem and Ramallah deplore the continuing threat of demolitions and seizures of Palestinian structures in the occupied West Bank," it said in a statement issued over the weekend.

The EU took particular issue with a new IDF tool to evacuate illegal Palestinian villages, which it adapted from a measure initiated to help destroy settler outposts.

It was used for the first time this month against three Palestinian herding villages, including Ein al-Hilweh and Umm Jamaal in the Jordan Valley.

5. New naval Iron Dome system declared operational - YNET News

The maritime Iron Dome missile defense system was declared operational Monday by the IDF's Navy and Air Force after 18 months of rigorous preparations and examinations, and a series of successful interception attempts carried out at sea.

The tests included launching Grad rocket-like projectiles to ranges of dozens of kilometers, simulating rockets launched from the Gaza Strip in previous conflicts.

According to senior air force and navy officers, the interceptions were successful both when it came to single launches and to barrages of projectiles launched as part of the test.

The Daily Brief

1. At least four killed after blast causes building collapse in south Tel Aviv - Haaretz.com

At least four people were killed and five were wounded after an explosion rocked Jaffa on Monday. Three of the casualties were wounded in light condition, two of whom were driving by the site of the blast. Police are investigating whether a gas cylinder was involved in the explosion.

Police say the incident was most likely not a criminal event, though damage is significant and police are only at the beginning of the investigation. (Read more)

- Father, whether or not this horrific explosion was an act of terrorism, nevertheless there are many who are mourning today the loss of four of their citizens. We mourn with them, and ask that the God of all comfort be present with each family in this hour. Amen.

- " . . . mourn with those who mourn. . . " (Romans 12:15)

2. An accomplishment! House passes good flood-insurance reform - Washington Examiner

It wasn't easy, but House Republicans, who battled through the summer and fall against members of their own party, finally managed to negotiate bipartisan passage of flood insurance reform last week. To secure sufficient buy-in from coastal Republicans, key concessions were made, but the final product was worth the compromise.

"Everything is a compromise in Washington," House Financial Services Committee Chairman Jeb Hensarling told the Washington Examiner two days after the vote. "You just try to compromise your policy, not your principle."

The 21st Century Flood Reform Act passed last Wednesday, introduced by Rep. Sean Duffy, R-Wis., who is also a member of the Financial Services Committee, would open the government-controlled flood insurance market to private competition. Hensarling calls the legislation "revolutionary."

"We took a great leap forward," he said last Friday - not the best-chosen phrase, given its historical echoes. "The greatest conservative victory in the history of the program," Hensarling added, "is to open it up to private market competition." (Read more)

- Father, we ask that this move would do what the designers hope it will - bringing more competition into the market. We pray that the costs will stay down and that those who need this insurance will be able to obtain it.

- "Behold, the Lord's hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; nor His ear heavy that it cannot hear." (Isaiah 59:1)

3. White House Fires Three Guys Who Snuck Out To Meet With Women During Trump's Vietnam Trip - Daily Caller

The White House has transferred three military service members out of their West Wing roles after they allegedly had inappropriate contact with women during President Donald Trump's recent trip to Vietnam, according to officials at the White House. The Department of Defense (DOD) is investigating three noncommissioned Army officers who allegedly broke curfew and met with foreign women during the 12-day, five-country visit to Asia, the Washington Post reports.

The three men were working with the White House Communications Agency, which assists the president, vice president and Secret Service to set up secure communications while traveling.

Military officials confirmed that the DOD was investigating the men who, if charged, could face a court martial. "We are aware of the incident, and it is currently under investigation," Mark Wright, spokesman for the DOD, told WaPo. (Read more)

- Lord, we continually ask for Your help in pulling out the sin from our government and our people. We plead for a move of Your Spirit in America!

- "Let the saints be joyful in glory." (Psalm 149:5a)

4. Franken 'ashamed' but won't resign - Israel National News

Senator Al Franken (D-MN) on Sunday said he accepted responsibility for his actions amid allegations of sexual harassment, but stressed he had no intention of resigning.

"I'm going to go forward. I'm going to take responsibility. I'm going to be held accountable, and I'm going to try to be productive in the way I speak about this," Franken told Minnesota Public Radio News in an interview. He added that he will "cooperate fully" with the Senate Ethics Committee.

In a separate interview with the Minneapolis Star-Tribune, Franken said, "I'm embarrassed and ashamed. I've let a lot of people down and I'm hoping I can make it up to them and gradually regain their trust. I'm looking forward to getting back to work tomorrow," he added. (Read more)

- Lord, as we move through this time of revelations of sexual misconduct, we ask that You judge the hearts of all involved. Apologies are not the same as repentance. You are the righteous Judge, and You alone understand who has truly repented and who has not.

- "For the Lord does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart." (1 Samuel 16:7b)

5. Supreme Court turns down Westboro Baptist Church challenge to funeral protest law - Marine Corps Times

The Supreme Court is leaving in place a Nebraska law that bars protests around funerals.

Nebraska enacted the law in 2006. It prohibits protests near a cemetery, mortuary or church from one hour before the beginning of a funeral to two hours after. Members of the Kansas-based Westboro Baptist Church challenged the law but have lost in lower courts. Members of the church routinely conduct anti-gay protests outside military funerals. The protests have been a way of drawing attention to their incendiary view that U.S. deaths in Afghanistan and Iraq are God's punishment for the nation's tolerance of homosexuality. (Read more)

- Father, thank you that the Supreme Court will leave this law in place. Though we as Christians agree that homosexuality is a sin, demonstrating in such an unloving way at the funerals of the fallen is wrong and does not reveal Christ's love.

- "Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep." (Romans 12:15)

6. 'Ignorant infidels' in U.S. may have to be 'forced' to accept Islam - WND

Radical imams from Virginia, Maryland and Texas recently attended a fund-raising event organized by an Islamist charity in which they were treated to a smorgasbord of teachings from foreign-based Islamic thinkers.

The prime delicacy was offered up by keynote speaker Habib-ur-Rehman Ludhianvi, a visiting Islamic cleric from Pakistan.

Ludhiavi believes America is a "land of infidels," whom he described as "ignorant." His comments are a ringing example of what Muslim leaders say when they are behind closed doors and in the company of other Muslims, as opposed to the public comments meant for gullible infidel ears, security experts tell WND.

Ehsan Rehan fled his native Pakistan and works as a journalist in Washington, D.C. The only reason the public knows what was said inside the Nov. 18 conference at a Holiday Inn in Springfield, Virginia, is because the gathering was infiltrated by Ehsan Rehan, the brave Pakistani-born journalist and editor of Rabwah Times who went undercover and captured video and audio. (Read more)

- Lord, as the false god of Islam grows in the world, and especially in America, we call forth the Presence of Your Holy Spirit against it.

- "So they shall fear the Name of the Lord from the west, and His glory from the rising of the sun; when the enemy comes in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord will lift up a standard against him." (Isaiah 59:19)

7. Iran warns it would increase missile range if threatened by Europe - Reuters

The deputy head of Iran's Revolutionary Guards warned Europe that if it threatens Tehran, the Guards will increase the range of missiles to above 2,000 kilometers, the Fars news agency reported on Saturday.

France has called for an "uncompromising" dialogue with Iran about its ballistic missile program and a possible negotiation over the issue separate from Tehran's 2015 nuclear deal with world powers.

Iran has repeatedly said its missile program is defensive and not negotiable. (Read more)

- Lord, we take authority over this declaration by Iran, bind it up, and command it to be fall to the ground. We ask for Your power against the devices of the enemy.

- " . . . lest Satan would take advantage of us, for we are not ignorant of his devices." (2 Corinthians 2:11)

8. The US-Saudi Starvation Blockade - Buchanan.org

Saudi Arabia, which attacked and invaded Yemen in 2015 after Houthi rebels dumped over a pro-Saudi regime in Sanaa and overran much of the country, has imposed a land, sea and air blockade, after the Houthis fired a missile at Riyadh this month that was shot down. The Saudis say it was an Iranian missile, fired with the aid of Hezbollah, and an "act of war" against the kingdom. The Houthis admit to firing the missile, but all three deny Iran and Hezbollah had any role. Whatever the facts of the attack, what the Saudis, with U.S. support, are doing today with this total blockade of that impoverished country appears to be both inhumane and indefensible.

Almost 90 percent of Yemen's food, fuel and medicine is imported, and these imports are being cut off. The largest cities under Houthi control, the port of Hodaida and Sanaa, the capital, have lost access to drinking water because the fuel needed to purify the water is not there. Thousands have died of cholera. Hundreds of thousands are at risk. Children are in danger from a diphtheria epidemic. Critical drugs and medicines have stopped coming in, a death sentence for diabetics and cancer patients. If airfields and ports under Houthi control are not allowed to open and the necessities of life and humanitarian aid are not allowed to flow in, the Yemenis face famine and starvation. (Read more)

- Lord, while we understand that Saudi Arabia is trying to stop weapons from getting to Yemen, we ask for them to have wisdom in doing so. We ask that they find a way to help the people obtain food and water.

- "He raises the poor out of the dust, and lifts the needy out of the ash heap."
(Psalm 113:7)

9. Hawaii Reinstates Pearl Harbor Air Raid Siren Amid North Korea Threats - International Business Times

Hawaii will reinstate the use of a World War II-era air raid siren in December because of the threat of a missile attack from North Korea.

The sirens were installed after the Japanese Navy attacked Pearl Harbor on Dec. 7, 1941. The attack killed 2,335 Americans and caused a huge blow to the U.S. Navy. The battle led the U.S. to join World War II.

The "attack warning" siren will be added to monthly tests of Hawaii's "attention alert" siren which signals for natural disasters such as hurricanes, tsunamis and earthquakes, according to the Honolulu Star-Advertiser earlier this month. The first test of the old air raid siren will be Dec. 1. Tests typically take place on the first business day of every month just before noon.

The last time the sirens were used was in 1980, during the Cold War. The signals then would have signaled a missile attack from the Soviet Union, but now would indicate one from North Korea. (Read more)

- Father, we continue to ask Your Mighty protection over all islands and lands within North Korea's reach. We ask for a move of Your Spirit among the people of Hawaii, granting them the knowledge of your strength, and freeing them from fear.

- "Some trust in chariots, and some in horses; but we will remember the name of the Lord our God." (Psalm 20:7)

10. Bill Clinton Is Involved in TWO Major Uranium Scandals Involving the Clinton Foundation - Not Just One - Gateway Pundit

It is already well known that former President Bill Clinton was right in the middle of the now widely reported criminal Uranium One deal. What isn't well known is that this was the second of two criminal uranium deals involving the former President and the Clinton Foundation.

It has been widely reported that Bill Clinton flew to Russia in 2010 and was paid $500,000 for a single speech. It is also well know that during his trip to Russia, the former President petitioned the State Department to allow him to meet with a key member of the Russia state owned uranium company Rosatom.

The Hill reported in October:

As he prepared to collect a $500,000 payday in Moscow in 2010, Bill Clinton sought clearance from the State Department to meet with a key board director of the Russian nuclear energy firm Rosatom - which at the time needed the Obama administration's approval for a controversial uranium deal, government records show. (Read more)

- Lord, we pray that You will cause the people of America to rise up and say NO to these actions of pure greed. The government is still infiltrated by holdovers, all of whom need to be fired and forced to step down. Grant our President courage and strength, and bring righteousness where evil has lurked.

- "The evil will bow before the good, and the wicked at the gates of the righteous." (Proverbs 14:19)

Saudis interesting prophetic move

Saudi Arabia's crown prince Mohammed bin Salman this past weekend convened the second meeting of defense ministers and other officials from the Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition. The coalition was formed by Mohammed in 2015 and consists of 41 countries claiming to be a "pan-Islamic unified front" against violent extremism. The nations or political states include Afghanistan, Libya, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Somalia, Pakistan, Egypt, Palestine, Sudan, Yemen, Benin, Jordan, and several others. It does not include Iraq, Syria or Iran. Interesting that many of these countries are terrorist sponsoring nations, with Saudi Arabia one of the largest contributors to international terrorism.

The coalition's website claims it "seeks to bring peace to affected regions and promote stability and prosperity to the Islamic world as well as the entire world." It also claims in its ideology that it seeks to "Launch and sustain a journey to build a better tomorrow for generations to come, rooted in a consistent and global message that reaffirms the Islamic principles of tolerance and compassion, and counter the narrative of violent extremist ideology through presenting the true nature of Islam and supporting ideological, psychological, and social reforms." The coalition will pool its money to share military information and encourage military counter terror capacity to "deter aggression and violence."

From a contemporary historic perspective, it is noble that these nations want to establish peace in the Middle East region. It is questionable, however, given the longstanding history of terrorist support that these nations are sincere. For example, Saudi Arabia is the exporter of Wahhabism and the Salafi movement that teaches a most radical form of Islamic terrorism. Turkey has supported the Islamic State in its efforts to overthrow Syria. Somalia is known as a hotbed for terrorists as is Sudan, Yemen and Libya. One has to wonder if the Palestinian "state" will use its cut of the shared military money to fight the Israelis that they consider terrorists. We must also remember that the "peace of Islam" is all nations under submission to Sharia Law.

The prophetic implications of this coalition are interesting. Saudi Arabia is home to the most holy of Islamic holy sites, Mecca. The coalition brings together Turkey, Sudan, and Libya as recalled in the Ezekiel 38 end time coalition. In Ezekiel 38:3-8, the Lord says, "Behold, I am against thee, O Gog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal: and I will turn thee back, and put hooks into thy jaws, and I will bring thee forth, and all thine army...Persia, Ethiopia, and Libya with them...against the mountains of Israel..." These areas mentioned in Ezekiel 38 coincide with modern Turkey, Iran, Sudan, Libya, and parts of Iraq, even Saudi Arabia. Iran and Iraq, specifically not part of the present-day Saudi coalition, come under submission to Turkey's Gog to attack Israel in the end of days. We may be seeing a foundation laid for the prophetic future.

Have a Blessed and Powerful Day!

Urgent Prayer for Supreme Court

Urgent Prayer for Supreme Court

Submitted by Allan Parker - Justice Foundation/Moral Outcry

"The next days are crucial as the Kennedy retirement which was prophesied appears to be about to happen. Pray against a Judas nomination who looks good but is not the right one. Claim the seat now while the President is deciding who the next nominee will be."

- Father God, we lift up this need before Your Throne of Grace. We thank You that You have selected one to fill this seat on the Supreme Court. We ask prayer now for President Trump, that as he seeks Your will in making this selection, he will hear Your voice. Thank You, Lord, for hearing our prayer, amen.
IT IS WRITTEN:

"The king's heart is in the hand of the Lord,
Like the rivers of water;
He turns it wherever He wishes."
(Proverbs 21:1)

"If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him." (James 1:5)

"My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me." (John 10:27)

Additional footnote from CHPP:

Some are also sensing that the retirement of another (or a different) Justice may be pending, instead. Either way, we do agree with Allan Parker's prayer request, and we pray for God's will to be done in the timing and in the selection of the next one to fill that seat. Thank you.

Signs and Wonders

Mexican Volcano Roars Back to Life

After days of rumbling, the volcano that towers over Mexico City today struck fear into the hearts of residents who refused to leave its slopes - by lighting up "like a Christmas tree," and spewing red-hot rocks into the air.

The Popocatepetl volcano erupted in spectacular fashion Monday night, frightening even residents who disregarded authorities' pleas to leave the area.

A red plume continued to spew from the mountain's peak today, and authorities warned "El Popo" wasn't done yet.

"At first it was pretty. It lit up like a Christmas tree," said Tomas Jimenez, a corn farmer. "Then the fear hit."

. . . Although the volcano began to belch ash on Friday, it wasn't until Monday night that it began its spectacular shower of incandescent rock.

"We got up on the roof and saw the rocks showering down. I started to get nervous," said Cresencio Sandoval, a 55-year-old farmer. "If it continues, it might be the end of the road for us right here."

Many of the 41,000 residents of the highest-risk zone who had refused to leave in more than 1,000 buses sent in by authorities decided that finally, it was time to go.

"We aren't so stupid as to stay here when it gets serious," said Cecilio Sevilla, a 26-year-old baker bundled up in a rough blanket. (Read more)

- Lord, this comes as the volcano in Bali is also about ready to erupt. We pray for the people in the path of these volcanoes, including the air traffic that will have to be diverted. May Your mercy be revealed as these situations arise.

- "For the mountains shall depart and the hills be removed, but My kindness shall not depart from you, nor shall My covenant of peace be removed." (Isaiah 54:10)
