1. UN Syria sanctions draft targets Assad, family - Jerusalem Post
Western nations circulated a draft UN resolution on Tuesday that calls for sanctions against Syrian President Bashar Assad, influential members of his family and key associates.
- Father, we ask that this draft for sanctions against the Syrian president and his key associates be made law, and that a stranglehold be placed upon the strength of these people. We ask You to take down the evil ruling spirit over Syria and replace it with the lordship and authority of God who is the creator of all things. In the Name and blood of Jesus Christ we ask this.
- "Now God's eyes shall be open, and His ears attentive unto the prayer that is made in this place." (II Chronicles 7:15)
2. Ex-IAEA official warns of Libya "dirty bomb" material - Reuters
A research center near Tripoli stocks uranium and other material that could be used to make a nuclear "dirty bomb" and Libya's rebels will need to secure it, a former senior U.N. inspector said on Wednesday.
- God, we are asking that You destroy these materials and turn them to ash. Break the evil intentions of the wicked because God will not always contend with their ungodly deeds. Redeem those who will be redeemed. In Jesus' Name.
- "God shall break in pieces mighty men without number, and set others in their stead. Therefore He knows their works, and He overturns them in the night, so that they are destroyed." (Job 34:24-25)
3. Iran shows UN advanced nuclear equipment - UK Telegraph
Iran has allowed a top UN atomic inspector access to a site where it is developing advanced centrifuges that can be used to either make nuclear fuel or arm warheads, diplomats have said.
- Father, there is no power on earth or in heaven that can work independently of the great and mighty God of the universe. So we ask that You will destroy this entire site where Iran is developing advanced centrifuges. Confuse all efforts to make nuclear fuel or arm warheads. We ask that their feet be on a treadmill; they are walking in place and going nowhere. In Jesus' Name.

4. Earthquake Damages Washington National Cathedral - Fox News
A 5.8 magnitude earthquake that struck central Virginia and sent tremors along the East Coast damaged three of the four pinnacles atop the main tower of the landmark Washington National Cathedral on Tuesday, and there were visible cracks in the church's structure.
B.) Washington Monument Indefinitely Closes After Earthquake Causes Cracks - Fox News
After reports of the Washington Monument possibly leaning due to a 5.8 magnitude earthquake that struck Virginia Tuesday, the National Park Services has revealed an inspection found cracks in the stones at the top of the Monument.
C.) Earthquake Felt Across D.C. Region - NBC
According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the event was an earthquake, which registered 5.8 in magnitude. The quake was 9 miles from the middle of Virginia, News4 Chief Meteorologist Doug Kammerer reported. It lasted about 30-40 seconds.
- Father, thank You that citizens were not injured during this earthquake. We pray a hedge of protection over the entire area that has been affected. We pray that damaged buildings and monuments can be repaired. Thank You for Your mercy and grace during this time.
- The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger and plenteous in mercy and loving-kindness. For as the heavens are high above the earth, so great are His mercy and loving-kindness toward those who reverently and worshipfully fear Him. (Psalm 103:8,11)
5. Hurricane Irene strengthens on path to U.S. coast - Reuters
Hurricane Irene strengthened on Wednesday as it roared up from the Caribbean on a path that prompted residents along the U.S. east coast to prepare for a possible hit over the weekend.
- Father, we pray protection over the U.S. east coast. We pray that this hurricane will lose its strength and spare those that are in its path. Have mercy on this area, in Jesus Name!
- Violence shall no more be heard in your land, nor devastation or destruction within your borders, but you shall call your walls Salvation and your gates Praise. (Isaiah 60:18)

1. Rocket from Gaza lands in Egypt for 1st time; woman hurt - Jerusalem Post
A woman was injured by a rocket fired from the Gaza Strip into the Egyptian town of Rafah on Wednesday, Egypt's state news agency MENA reported, as tension simmered in the region after a spate of cross-border violence.
2. Beck moves up Jerusalem event due to Ramadan - Jerusalem Post
American broadcaster Glenn Beck is not known for being particularly fond of Muslims, but he agreed to advance his Restoring Courage event in Jerusalem's Old City Wednesday evening due to Ramadan prayers.
3. IAF hits 2 terrorists attempting to fire rockets from Gaza - Jerusalem Post
The Israeli Air Force on Wednesday morning targeted and hit two terrorists in separate locations in the northern Gaza Strip who were attempting to fire rockets into southern Israel.

When the prophetic and the physical collide
The greater Washington, DC area was struck with a 5.8 magnitude earthquake Tuesday afternoon, which threw the city into a semi-panic. Pieces of plaster fell from the Capitol dome, bricks came down on cars, people were frightened. In less than another 72 hours, the area is threatened by a hurricane now forming in the Atlantic. Reports indicate that the US national debt is rising by $3 million every minute. The president has authorized and spent a record $4.247 trillion in national debt in only 2 1/2 years. New home sales, a key economic indicator, are on pace to be the worst in history. Meanwhile, the president is playing golf on vacation.
This is during the same time period, within hours, after the al Qaeda- and Muslim Brotherhood-backed "rebels" raised their flag over Libya. The US supported this power grab by Islamists whose goal in life is to destroy America and Israel. Indeed, the Secretary of State has been putting pressure on Israel for numerous things--apologizing to Turkey for raiding a terrorist flotilla, new settlements, and then threatening to support a UN recognition of a Palestinian state. A good friend of mine, White House correspondent Bill Koenig, has written a book entitled "Eye to Eye: Facing the Consequences of Dividing Israel." In it he documents decades of natural disaster, political unrest and financial disaster within hours after American presidents have pressured Israel to divide its land.
There is nothing more endangering to the nation of Israel in this present day than American support for the Muslim Brotherhood-backed revolution throughout the Middle East. This president has supported the establishment of Islamic states hostile to Israel more so than at any time in American history. These actions mean nations will be even more hostile to Israel. By pressuring Israel to give up land for peace, which is nothing new except that this pressure has come with more force--threatening to support anti-Israel UN resolutions, withholding U.S. power to thwart Iran's nuclear program, for example. A Palestinian state dividing Israel into two pieces would only be an advantage to Islam's plans to destroy that nation.
There are many in Christianity that do not believe in the prophetic correlation between pressuring Israel and calamity. This, however, has been documented very carefully and thoroughly to the point that if it is coincidence, it defies odds. Last year, Washington DC faced an epidemic of stink bugs and financial disaster. This year, the financial disaster continues to deepen, there is an historic earthquake, followed by a hurricane. All the while, this White House continues to pressure Israel by establishing radical Islamic states in the name of democracy and threatening to divide its land. In Zechariah 12:9 the Lord says, "And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem."

The Last Ten Days of August
THE LAST TEN DAYS OF AUGUST BEGAN ON AUGUST 21, 2011.
We have been asked to pray during the last 10 days of August because of the ending time of Ramadan. This seems to be a sensitive time for the Moslems and those who intend to do damage to us and others sometimes act during this time or at least plot and plan their activities. These actions, if successful, always result in "man-made disasters."
There is yet another reason to pray during the last 10 days of August. This pertains to natural disasters, which seem to be coming upon us. As you know the sun has been emitting solar flares toward earth. During this portion of 2011 we are in the Solar Cycle 24. It has been predicted by NASA, NOAA and ESA to be up to 50% stronger than its 'record breaking' predecessor Cycle 23 which produced the largest solar flare ever recorded. The Sun will reach its 'apex' (maximum) in late 2011 into 2012.
The sun's solar activity has a direct effect upon the Earth's weather. The unusual weather patterns and events can affect any place on the planet. At times they are violent storms or eruptions of some kind. Several days ago there was a massive solar flare emitted from the sun toward the earth.
We have seen some very unusual weather events this entire year; however, within the last 30 hours we have experienced:
1) Unusual earthquakes in Colorado and Virginia.
2) Hurricane 'Irene' is currently a category 3 storm and predictions are for winds to escalate to category 4 strength.
3) Magnitude 7.0 Hits Northern Peru. At this time limited reports of damage or fatalities.
- PLEASE PRAY FOR THOSE ON THE EAST COAST WHO WILL BE EXPERIENCING "IRENE" AS SHE APPROACHES THAT AREA.
- PRAY THAT SHE STAY OFF SHORE.
- THANK GOD THAT THERE WAS NO MORE DAMAGE DONE TO THE EAST COAST FROM THE EARTHQUAKE.
- PRAY THAT THERE BE NO MORE AFTERSHOCKS.
- PRAY FOR ALL OF THOSE WHO HAVE ALREADY SUFFERED FROM "IRENE" OFF THE COAST OF FLORIDA.
- STAND IN THE GAP OVER YOUR LAND!

One Cemetery's Grave Mistake
"God" may be a part of your vocabulary, but He isn't a part of the Houston National Cemetery's. Under the direction of Arleen Ocasio, the veterans' cemetery isn't a place of peace but a war zone for religious liberty. As we explained last month, Ocasio turned the chapel into a glorified storage room, banned volunteers from saying "God, "Jesus," and "I'm praying for you" to grieving families, and blocked the VFW from performing burial rituals more than 100 years old. Appalled by this kind of censorship, our friends at Liberty Institute are in the process of filing a lawsuit on behalf of the VFW, an American Legion post, and Houston's National Memorial Ladies.
And they'll have plenty of evidence to support it. Last month, Congressman John Culberson (R-Texas) decided to go undercover at a graveside service to see if the allegations were true. What he saw, Culberson says, "made his skin crawl." This kind of harassment is causing all sorts of emotional distress for these heroes' families--on top of the grief they're already experiencing. Although the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) denies the charges, Liberty Institute is releasing video proof this week that includes first-hand accounts from families who victims of the discrimination. Both Culberson and fellow Texan Rep. Ted Poe (R)--who joined me on Washington Watch last month--have vowed to zero out Ocasio's salary and blacklist her from ever working at a Texas VA again. They're right to be outraged. If our military can give Osama bin Laden a Moslem burial, don't our veterans deserve the right to a Christian one? (Family Research Council)
Gay Agendas: 2012 Conventions
For 2012, an Unconventional Approach
The GOP's National Convention in Tampa may be more than a year away but, sources inside the gay community say activists are already plotting to overthrow the Republicans' pro-life, pro-family platform. This is just a part of a larger effort to sow discord over social issues between the GOP's socially conservative voting base and the party's moderate establishment, which is a much smaller group--but controls a large part of the money within the party. Homosexual groups like GOProud and the Log Cabin Republicans are hoping to elbow their way into the conversation, but they'll meet strong resistance from the solid conservatives that have historically dominated the platform process.
Regardless, GOProud's Chris Barron--whose organization was booted from next year's CPAC for pushing this same divisive agenda--promises to "to actively participate in the process to revise the party's platform" in Tampa "[and] to strengthen the importance of reaching out to LGBT Americans as part of strengthening the party." Although Gov. Jon Huntsman is the only candidate with a pro-gay agenda, Barron says he's "confident" that this almost non-existent constituency is "going to have a nominee that gay conservatives can work with."
Apparently the GOP isn't the only party under attack. Homosexuals are already leaning on Democrats to step up their support for the LGBT cause when the Left convenes in Charlotte more than 13 months from now. In 2008, delegates made it clear that this is not your grandparents' Democratic party. For the first time in history, the Left's planks called for the repeal of the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) and the military's "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy. Now, homosexuals want more. They want "marriage." And according to Michael Mitchell, head of National Stonewall Democrats, they just might get it. In an article yesterday, Mitchell assured The Blade that the Democratic platform will "be very good--if not great--on LGBT issues." Fortunately, the Left isn't the only side coming prepared. As always, the FRC Action team will be on hand in Florida, fighting for the values and priorities of America's families. We'll make sure the conservative base has a solid platform to stand on. Obama's Middle East Muddle
Yesterday Libyan rebels sacked Col. Muammar Qadhafi's compound and consolidated their hold over the capital city of Tripoli. While one Muslim dictator has been deposed, it is unlikely that freedom lies ahead for the Libyan people. According to various reports a draft constitution establishes Islam as the official state religion and Sharia law as the "principal source of legislation."
Moreover, we have known from the beginning that Al Qaeda and other jihadists were part of the opposition movement. Not surprisingly, the Associated Press reports that there is a mad rush to secure and/or destroy Qadhafi's weapons of mass destruction before they fall into the wrong hands.
Next door in Egypt, anti-Israeli sentiments are on the rise. As Israel struggles to defend itself from attacks in the lawless Sinai region, politicians are fanning the flames of anti-Semitism ahead of the upcoming elections. Over the weekend, a massive protest erupted in front of the Israeli embassy in Cairo. The Israeli flag was burned, there were signs with swastikas and obscene slogans such as, "The gas chambers are ready." Meanwhile, to Israel's north, Syria's civil war rages on.
Obama's election was supposed to usher in a golden age of diplomacy and cooperation. Obama began his presidency by giving his first interview as president to the Al-Arabiya news channel, an Arab language satellite network. In his remarks, Obama said he felt his "job" was to communicate "to the Muslim world . . . that the Americans are not your enemy."
He followed that up with a video message reaching out to the mullahs in Iran based on "mutual respect," and then delivered his grand speech in Cairo, Egypt, once again reaching out to the Muslim world. To what effect? If anything, the Middle East is less stable today. (Gary Bauer)

From the horrific shootings at Ft. Hood to the recent downing of our Navy helicopter in Afghanistan, which claimed 32 lives including many of our Navy Seals, it is becoming increasingly apparent that those who protect us need protection, themselves.
For this purpose, we call upon our King of Kings and our Lord of Lords to unleash His Heavenly Host to be encamped round about each man or woman now serving in the ARMY, NAVY, AIR FORCE AND MARINES, providing a CANOPY OF PROTECTION for each one. WE CLAIM AND DECREE OUT LOUD ALL OF PSALM 91 FOR OUR TROOPS.

Israel prepares troops for battle with Bibles
There is mounting concern that the Palestinian statehood bid at the UN on September 20 could spark a massive Palestinian assault on Israel's borders.
Depending on how far Israeli soldiers are forced to go in defending themselves and the borders, the situation could quickly deteriorate into open warfare.
To prepare young Israeli soldiers for what could be the most intense fighting most of them have ever experienced, some army officials are turning to the Bible.
In an interview posted to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) website, Lt.-Col. Yitzchak Ben-Yosef, rabbi of the Ground Forces Command, suggested that unlike during the height of the fighting during the recent "Oslo War," the IDF will be prepared with enough Bibles for all soldiers.
"As [the former] Rabbi for Judea and Samaria I remember that we were often short of copies," said Ben-Yosef, as he recalled having to bring Bibles in under fire as Israeli reservists battled terrorists during Operation Defense Shield.
Religious commanders in the Israeli army insist that the biblical history of their nation provides the most powerful motivation for young Israeli soldiers to fight bravely. While secular voices often protest, the fact remains that the most courageous heroics are typically carried out by Bible-believing Israeli soldiers. (Israel Today) Read more.
