U.S. Senate to Vote on Slavery Apology Resolution
Tomorrow Morning: Thursday, June 18, 2009
From: Matt Lockett
Bound4LIFE Director
"I wanted to let you know of an exciting development and answer to prayer. Tomorrow (Thursday, 7/18/09) as a first order of business the U.S. Senate is scheduled to debate on S.CON.RES.26. This is a "concurrent resolution" being presented that, if passed, will not require the signature of the President. This is the SLAVERY APOLOGY RESOLUTION. It issues a federal apology for both slavery and Jim Crow laws.
Please understand that these APOLOGIES carry serious weight in the spirit. This is a huge answer to prayer. It opens doors on a grand scale with governmental authority leading to God doing a deep work in our hearts and culture.
Please be in prayer that this would pass without opposition."
• We are asking all of our Prayer Partners to join forces with us QUICKLY and to lift up S.CON.RES.26 for passage tomorrow morning when it comes up for a vote on the floor of the Senate. This effort has been YEARS in the making . . . let's trust our GOD to bring this vote to the FINISH LINE, so that our government can formally and officially offer an apology for the sin of slavery that was once upon our land. Pray!
• "The LORD your God, who is going before you, will fight for you, as he did for you in Egypt, before your very eyes . . . " (Dt. 1:30)
Today's Daily Brief
1. Obama to call for new financial regulator, stronger Fed - Worthy News
The Obama administration is proposing the broadest changes in financial regulation since the Great Depression, calling for the elimination of some bank regulators and giving the Treasury Department and Federal Reserve vast new authority. "We are going to put forward a very strong set of regulatory measures we think can prevent this kind of crisis from happening again," President Barack Obama said Tuesday from the Rose Garden. Senior administration officials late Tuesday confirmed that on Wednesday Obama would propose the elimination of the much-maligned Office of Thrift Supervision, which regulates savings and loan institutions, and had oversight of the financial products division of failed insurer American International Group. The company's collapse has cost taxpayers more than $180 billion, and AIG is now almost 80 percent owned by the Federal Reserve.
• Pray the Father will forcefully unleash His plan to expose, deal with, and abolish any institution, American or otherwise, that insists on being dishonest with the American people. Pray that the Lord of Glory will take down falsely erected establishments and their associations, here and around the world, as a recompense for this evil done to His people. Intercede for leadership to come forth who will deal honestly and righteously and govern according to godly principles and not those of mammon kings.
• You cannot serve God and mammon." Now the Pharisees, who were lovers of money, also heard all these things, and they derided Him. And He said to them, "You are those who justify yourselves before men, but God knows your hearts. (Luke 16:14a-15a)
2. Why ObamaCare Will Cost American Lives - Family Security Matters
It is amazing. The administration piles lie on top of lie when trying to sell to Americans a nationalized, single payer health care program, and no one in our political establishment challenges them. Where are our spokesmen? At the very least, our opposition political "leaders" should be saying the following.
The Obama administration claims that the health care plan they will propose is not a single payer plan because Americans will not have to give up their existing insurance plans if they are happy with them. The truth, however, is that Obama and most of the advocates are on the record saying a plan like theirs is the first step toward creating a single payer system. In fact, if a single payer system gets adopted by this Congress, Americans will not be able to keep their current insurance plans - or any other private plan - because most, if not all, private insurers will be bankrupt. The government insurance "option," which the advocates argue will "create competition," will undoubtedly do the reverse: put the current 13,000 health insurance companies out of business. And who needs to "create competition" in the health care industry? With that many companies already competing in the marketplace, we certainly don't need the government to intervene.
• Father, we pray that this whole issue submitted by Mr. Obama will be deeply inspected and then annihilated. Pray that the government of the people, by the people, and for the people will absolutely not be allowed to run said people out of business in order to own their businesses, and ultimately them. Pray for the Lord to intercept this plan and not allow it's realization. Intercede that this administration will champion a cause for America and not a cause for massive, destructive government. Ask God to allow them to see their own hearts. Rather than stealing the heart of America by stealing it's jobs and it's right to make it's own choices, declare and decree that this government will give America back to her people.
• Whoever is a partner with a thief hates his own life; He swears to tell the truth, but reveals nothing. The fear of man brings a snare, But whoever trusts in the Lord shall be safe. (Proverbs 29:24-25)
3. Philly Abortion Giveaways In Honor of Tiller - Christian Headline News
The nation was shocked to learn that George Tiller was shot to death while serving as an usher in his church. Ironically, one abortion clinic is offering free abortions in honor of George Tiller. The Philadelphia Women's Center gave away free abortions on Tuesday as a means of "honoring" slain late-term abortionist George Tiller. The abortion clinic told the media that an unspecified number of abortions were done free of charge, but there are no further plans to offer additional free abortions.
One worker confirmed that there had not been free abortion giveaways in the past and under normal circumstances, abortions would not be au gratis at the clinic. But they were today, in honor of Dr. Tiller's "memory and legacy." "There seems to be no comprehension of the value of human life with these people. Killing babies for free to honor someone who was murdered can only be described as sick," said Operation Rescue President Troy Newman. "There is no such thing as a 'free abortion,'" said Newman. "It costs the life of an innocent baby and puts the woman at risk for increased problems in her life. The loss of each innocent life diminishes us all." An organization called The Elliot Institute News has released some revealing studies that show women who have received abortions are more at risk for problems such as suicide, drug and alcohol abuse, and mental illness.
• Father, we come and continue to stand against the compound problem, the constant ambush, and the bitter deception that results in the killing of innocent life. Please pray that America will turn it's back on greed and delusion so they will find their day of reckoning as this fiasco tries to escalate yet even more. Ask that sound mindedness will dawn on murdering 'puppets and pawns'. Never give up on interceding, so that they will no longer be allowed to resist the truth of this matter. Pray that their hearts will be turned to see the value of human life and the truth of human destiny, both of which are stolen, before the chance to be born, in the act of abortion.
• they say, "Come with us, let us lie in wait for blood; let us ambush the innocent without reason; we shall find all precious goods, we shall fill our houses with plunder. (Proverbs 1:11,13)
4. Arabs unmasked by Netanyahu speech - The Voice
Like a well-smacked pool ball, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's Sunday night policy speech reverberated around the world, triggering reactions ranging from the extremely positive to the vigorously negative. While not unexpected, the universally rejectionist Arab response unmasked yet again the people's disinterest in living in peace with Israel. Palestinian Arabs reacted with anger to the Israeli leader's offer of a homeland inside the Land of Israel and his call for their reciprocal recognition of Israel as the national home of the Jewish people.
"Netanyahu wants to put us in a situation where he looks like he offered something, and we said no," Palestinian Authority spokesman Sa'eb Erekat said. "Netanyahu's speech was very clear. He rejects the two-state solution." According to the Reuters news agency, PA 'Prime Minister' Salam Fayyad said Netanyahu had "failed to meet the expectations of the international community."
• Thank the Father for equipping PM Netanyahu with the words to re-educate Israel's neighbors and the rest of the world to know that she will not be parceled out to others, no matter what. Give thanks and praise that this telling response came forth. Pray for continued protection for Israel as she takes her strong stand for her homeland. Intercede for perpetual guidance for the Prime Minister and others who will support a plan that will serve Israel's rights to her land. Ask God to allow her enemies to, without a doubt, see His Mighty Hand. Pray that many come to glory in this process.
• So shall he sprinkle many nations; the kings shall shut their mouths at him: for that which had not been told them shall they see; and that which they had not heard shall they consider. (Isaiah 52:15)
5. Pakistan Taliban Threatens To Kill, Rape, Non Muslims - Worthy News
A loose Pakistan-based umbrella group of factions linked to the militant Taliban organization has threatened to kill or rape all non-Muslims to enslave their children and take away their properties, unless they meet tough conditions. In a letter, seen by Worthy News Monday, June 15, the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) said non-Muslims should "embrace Islam", or pay an Islamic tax known as 'Jaziva Tax' to Muslim rulers, or leave Pakistan "forever", if they don't want to be harmed.
"If the infidels rejected this suggestion, they would be killed and they would be responsible for it", wrote TTP leader Muslim Khan. And, "The women of these disobedient infidels would be enslaved and raped according to [an Islamic ritual] Mut'a," he said.
• Intercede for the lives and well being of innocent victims of these wretched crimes. Ask the Lord for a turning of this evil, the pulling down of demonic strongholds, and for deliverance for His people. Intercede to tear down false prophesy and destroy every yolk of bondage and destruction the enemy is planning. Pray that the Spirit of the Lord would rise up in these countries to unveil the hearts of men, to promote freedom of speech, and to generate love for the work of the kingdom, protecting the laborers in the fields.
• Nevertheless when one turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. (II Corinthians 3:16-17)

2. Haaretz poll: Netanyahu approval rating leaps after policy speech - Ha'aretz
U.S. President Barack Obama has reservations, the Arabs are protesting and the Europeans are doubtful, but for the Israeli public, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's speech on Sunday evening was a big success. Right and left, Kadima and Likud, new immigrants and old-timers all found something they liked in the address at Bar-Ilan University.

ABC -- The "All Barack Channel"
In a primetime special on June 24th, ABC News will be broadcasting out of the Obama White House in an effort to promote President Obama's government-run health care plan. When the Republican National Committee learned of this planned primetime promo, it asked for the opportunity to include a spokesman for its views. (It's worth noting that nearly 70% of doctors serving in Congress are Republicans, such as Senator Tom Coburn of Oklahoma.) However, ABC News denied the request. Instead, a pre-selected audience will ask the president questions in a town-hall-style format. (I suspect the questions will be pre-selected too!)
The reports of ABC's "infomercial" for Obama's socialized healthcare scheme have sparked a tremendous outcry against this blatant example of media bias. A major media news outlet teaming up with the White House to sell its healthcare plan sounds like something that would take place in Russia or China, not the United States. Many conservative commentators are now referring to ABC as the "All Barack Channel."
The reaction from ABC was an arrogant statement from Senior Vice President Kerry Smith, who said, "Like any programs we broadcast, ABC News will have complete editorial control. To suggest otherwise is quite unfair to both our journalists and our audience." Really? I wonder how many people know that the Director of Communications at the White House Office of Health Reform is Linda Douglass, a former ABC news reporter who worked at the network for nearly ten years. I'm sure that's just a remarkable coincidence and that Douglass had absolutely nothing to do with arranging this broadcast. (Gary Bauer; End-of-Day; 6/17/09)
CBO on Kennedy Care: Ouch!
Senator Ted Kennedy (D-Mass.), the main architect of the President's health care reform, can now count the Chamber of Commerce, the Washington Post, and the White House among his bill's latest critics. Even the administration, which tapped Kennedy to lead the overhaul, is backing away from the proposal that it helped conceive. After the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) released an unflattering picture of the bill's cost, White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs couldn't backpedal fast enough. "This is not the administration's bill," he tried to explain.
The President may sidestep his involvement in the legislation, but he cannot distance himself from the expensive reality of a government takeover of health care--a goal that could cost well over $1 trillion in the next decade. He claims the government can cut billions from Medicare and Medicaid to pay for the initiative, but the only way the President could possibly save money is to limit benefits, that is, by rationing health care.
According to the CBO, liberals are lowballing the price of Kennedy's plan. As the Cato Institute points out, when Medicare was launched in 1965, Part A (coverage for seniors) was projected to cost $9 billion. By 1990, it had cost $67 billion. "It's hard to know whether President Obama's health care 'reform' is naive, hypocritical or simply dishonest. Probably all three," writes Newsweek and Washington Post columnist Robert Samuelson. "The president keeps saying it's imperative to control runaway health spending. He's right. The trouble is that what's being promoted as health care 'reform' almost certainly won't suppress spending and, quite probably, will do the opposite." (Family Research Council)
Hansell and Our Regrettal
The Obama administration continues to attack the family from the inside. According to our sources, the Department of Health and Human Services is poised to name David Hansell to a key post in the Administration for Children and Families (ACF). This is particularly disturbing since Hansell served in leadership positions at Gay Men's Health Crisis, a nonprofit that actively lobbies for the radical homosexual agenda. His promotion to Assistant Secretary of ACF is a slap in the face of mainstream America, who relied on this office to promote heterosexual adoption, traditional families, abstinence education, child care, and healthy marriages.
To give you a picture of the extreme makeover underway at ACF, Hansell's predecessor was Dr. Wade Horn, a well-respected family advocate who used to head the Fatherhood Initiative. Under Hansell's direction, ACF would radically morph from a federal program meant to empower traditional families into a government vehicle aimed at sabotaging marriage with your tax dollars. (Family Research Council)

D.C. Voters Lose Say in Same-Sex Marriage Debate
Washington, D.C., elections officials have blocked a proposal that would let voters decide on whether the nation's capital will recognize same-sex marriages performed outside the District. The Board of Elections and Ethics has suggested only Congress and the courts should have input on the issue.
The two-member board said that allowing a referendum that lets the people decide is akin to authorizing "discrimination."
Bishop Harry Jackson, chairman of the High Impact Leadership Coalition, and the Alliance Defense Fund plan to file an appeal of the decision in Superior Court.
"We believe we have strong legal precedence with which to block this first step toward D.C. having same-sex marriage," Jackson said.
• Believers in Washington, D.C. are grieving over this decision, and we tonight ask the nation to stand in the gap with us for our city. There are MANY RIGHTEOUS in your nation's capital; pray that their voices WILL be heard in the public square, and that they will find favor when this decision is appealed in Superior Court. Amen.

Christian Rally Set for Same Day as Gay-Pride Parade
President Barack Obama recently designated June as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Pride Month.
The Coalition for Conscience, in Charlotte, N.C., is responding to the gay activists in its city with truth and righteousness. The group will hold a praise and worship rally on July 25 --- the same day as the city's gay-pride parade.
"If you love Jesus, you qualify," according to the coalition's Web site. "We need worshippers, intercessors, musicians, soul-winners, walkers, talkers and believers of every age, color and size to stand together as a prophetic witness to our society."
The coalition is setting an example for churches across the land on how to respond to gay events with truth and grace. (CitizenLink)

Setback for Voters in D.C.
Amen.
• "When a man's ways are pleasing in His sight, He causeth even his enemies to be at peace with him." (Proverbs 16:7)
