The Daily Brief
1. Senate Approves Resolution Apologizing for Slavery, Segregation - AP
The Senate has unanimously passed a resolution apologizing for slavery and racial segregation and sent the measure to the House.
Iowa Democrat Tom Harkin first introduced the measure years ago but wanted it passed Thursday on the eve of Juneteenth -- a day of celebration commemorating the end of the Civil War and the release of African Americans from slavery. He said the House is to take it up soon and that a formal celebration will be held next month in the Capitol Rotunda.
The resolution passed Thursday includes a disclaimer saying that nothing in it supports or authorizes reparations by the United States.
• Thank you all for your "instant" prayer support, offered last night over this breaking news out of the Senate. Continue to lift up this bill in prayer, as the members of the House of Representatives next consider its passage.
Our Lord HAS heard . . . and He has answered. We ask now that the healing would begin, that the balm of Gilead be applied to the racial divide in our nation . . . that we might be ONE NATION UNDER GOD, once again. Praise the Lord.
• "For the eyes of the LORD are toward the righteous, and His ears attend to their prayer." (I Peter 3:12)
2. NORTH KOREA IN THE NEWS
a) U.S.Military Tracking North Korean Ship Suspected of Proliferating Missiles, Nukes - AP
A ship named Kang Nam left a port in North Korea Wednesday and could be carrying missile parts or nuclear materials in violation of a U.N. Security Council resolution. Read more.
b) Report: North Korea May Fire ICBM Toward Hawaii - Fox News
North Korea may fire a long-range ballistic missile toward Hawaii in early July -- perhaps even on Independence Day - a Japanese news report said Thursday, as Russia and China urged the regime to return to international disarmament talks on its rogue nuclear program.
c) North Korea Warns of "Thousand Fold" Military Action - Fox NEws
North Korea warned Wednesday of a "thousand-fold" military retaliation against the U.S. and its allies if provoked, the latest threat in a drumbeat of rhetoric in defense of its rogue nuclear program.
• Father we ask that Your mercy reign over the people of America. We erect a hedge of the Blood of Jesus over Hawaii, Alaska, and all places in between North Korea and the farthest range of their missiles. We call upon You to destroy the wicked and evil schemes of DPRK leadership.
• "But the wicked shall be cut off from the earth . . . " (Proverbs 2:22a)
3. Rights Groups: Reformists Seized in Iran Crackdown - AP
International human rights organizations said Wednesday that many prominent activists and politicians have been arrested in response to protests over Iran's disputed election.
• Lord we thank You for the upheaval in Iran at this time, but we ask Your mercy over the dissenters who have been targeted. We especially ask for Your Spirit to move across the Iranian people, granting them boldness, changing their lives, and ultimately removing the deceived powers that rule them.
• "For you have trusted in your wickedness: you have said "No one sees me." Your wisdom and your knowledge has perverted you, and you have said in your heart, I am and there is no one else besides me. Therefore evil shall come upon you; you shall not know from whence it rises." (Isaiah 47:10-11a)
4. Brazil finds new strain of H1N1 virus - AFP
Brazilian scientists have identified a new strain of the H1N1 virus after examining samples from a patient in Sao Paulo, their institute said Tuesday.
• Father we ask that this new virus fall to the ground and not mutate or be spread. We call upon Your Name for protection, and pray that Your people will not fear, but will pray according to the leading of Your Spirit.
• "There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling." (Psalm 91:10)
5. China sells US bonds to 'show concern' - AFP
A decision by China to reduce its US Treasury holdings suggests concern about the US attitude towards its economic woes, Chinese economists were quoted as saying in state media Wednesday.
• Lord ,as nations lose confidence in America, this is a sign of even more difficult times ahead. We ask that You provide a pathway that our leaders can see, understand, and follow through these difficult economic minefields, in every step revealing Yourself to them.
• "To give light to them that sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace." (Luke 1:79)
6. House to Cough Up Money US Owes to UN - USA Today
The United States is closer to no longer being a United Nations deadbeat. The House of Representatives passed a war-funding bill Tuesday that includes about $900 million for U.N. peacekeeping missions and related activities. That funding includes $175 million in arrears accrued since fiscal year 2005, according to the United Nations Foundation, a charitable group that promotes U.N. causes.
• Father, we thank You that we are paying a debt that should have been paid 4 years ago. May this be a prophetic act that begins a renewal of confidence in America, and a moving of Your Spirit to change the scope of debt throughout America - from political to personal.
As America takes the lead now on this very sensitive issue, we ask that all other nations that are similarly in debt to the UN would follow suit. May our own voice be heard, and heeded - especially in defense of our ally, Israel -- in this assembly of the nations. Amen.
• ". . . and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors . . . " (Matthew 6:12)
7. Total Jobless Numbers Drop Sharply, First Time Claim Rise Slightly - AP
The total number of people on the unemployment insurance rolls dropped for the first time since early January, the government said Thursday, while new claims for benefits rose slightly.
• Lord we praise You for this small bit of good news, as it appears layoffs are easing slightly. We pray that You will provide for Your people during this time of unemployment. Have mercy upon our nation, Lord, and remember Your promise of help in times of trouble.
• "Give us help in the time of trouble, for vain is the help of man." (Psalm 60:11)
8. Clinton Fractures Elbow- Will Undergo Surgery - Fox News
Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton fractured her right elbow during a fall Wednesday, her chief of staff said.
• Lord we pray a speedy recovery for Mrs. Clinton, and a successful surgery. We ask that You hover over her during this time, and draw her to Yourself.
• "For the Son of man is come to seek and save that which was lost." (Luke 19:10)

Beautiful in elevation, the joy of the whole earth, is Mont Zion in the far north, the city of the great King. (Psalm 48:2)
1. Sheikh Salah: Netanyahu wants to rebuild Temple - Ynet News
Sheikh Raed Salah, leader of the Islamic Movement's northern branch, spoke Wednesday afternoon in front of Muslim students at Haifa University and warned them that Benjamin Netanyahu was intending on completing his plan to gain control of the Temple Mount, which he said the prime minister had tried to do during his first tenure.
2. Lieberman to Clinton: Settlement freeze not an option - Jerusalem Post
Sharp differences remained between the US and Israeli positions on key issues Wednesday following Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman's first meeting with Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in Washington.
3. Iran claims it foiled Israeli bomb plot on election day - ICEJ News
Iran's Ministry of Intelligence claimed on Thursday that it has foiled an Israeli-linked terror plot to plant bombs in mosques and other crowded places in Tehran during last week's presidential election. State broadcaster IRIB quoted a ministry statement as saying several terrorist groups had been discovered, adding they were "in contact with Iran's foreign enemies, including the Zionist entity."
4. Israel's Persian Jewish community anxious over Iranian protests - ICEJ News
Members of Israel's small Persian Jewish community have been watching events in their former country with a mixture of concern and hope, and a wide variety of opinions about whether the post-election protests will fizzle out soon or topple the hard-line clerical regime. "Everything will be back to normal in a week, and the regime will be identical no matter which candidate is president," Shmuel, a young Iranian-born shop owner in the Israeli capital, told The Jerusalem Post.
But Aharon Yunanyan, who runs an electronics store in Jerusalem, insisted that "with God's help, this is the start of the revolution that will bring back the shah, or even democracy. Historically, every 35 years Persians change their regime. This regime's time is up," he says.
5. Iranian election protests now aiming for regime change - ICEJ News
One million mourn losses so far in crackdown on defiant marches Another huge throng, estimated at up to one million people, took to Tehran's streets on Thursday to stage a fifth day of massive protests against Iran's tainted presidential elections last week and to mourn those killed so far in the Islamist government's crackdown on what appears to be turning into an unprecedented movement for regime change.
Iranian Mystery in Manhattan
5th Avenue Skyscraper Center of Iranian Mystery
Just blocks from Rockefeller Center, 650 Fifth Avenue is at the center of a federal probe, involving the FBI, two firms linked to Iran's national bank and a wealthy U.S. foundation that supports Islamic charitable causes - whose former president has been accused of obstruction of justice. In December, the Department of Justice charged the building's co-owners, the Assa Corporation and Assa Limited, of being front companies for Iran 's national bank, Bank Melli. The bank had been sanctioned by the U.S. Treasury Department for allegedly helping fund Iran's nuclear and ballistic missile programs.
The other owner of the building is the Alavi Foundation, which was founded by the Shah of Iran and has been operating as a New York state charity for 35 years. Alavi owns 60 percent of the building and bills itself as a charitable effort to "support Interfaith harmony and promote Islamic culture and Persian language, literature and civilization." It claims assets of more than $121 million. A look at its donation list from tax records shows some of America 's most prominent institutions have benefited from Alavi's largess, from Harvard and Columbia universities, to former President Clinton's work. Tax records show the William J. Clinton Foundation was given $30,000 in 2006. Alavi has also distributed millions to schools, mosques and Islamic Centers through the years. But others have accused the Alavi Foundation of doing Iran 's bidding right here in America, and even alleged it is "controlled" by Tehran.
"There's no question that Alavi's activities are questionable," claims Joe Kildea, General Counsel for the group "United Against Nuclear Iran," which is fighting Tehran 's nuclear program. He believes Alavi spreads Tehran's message inside our country. Kildea says, "It's very sophisticated and I think 650 Fifth Avenue is a perfect example of that. We're in the middle of the biggest city in the world and we had no idea that a terrorist government owned one of the best buildings in the city." (Fox News)
• Please pray that the knowledge of all plans or attacks be revealed to those who provide our national and international security. Ask the Lord to strengthen and bless this nation and to loose in great abundance His mighty ones for this work. Declare the Shield of the Lord over His people and extreme, disruptive confusion in all enemy camps. Ask the Lord to sabotage the enemy in turning the hearts of the violent and the ungodly to Himself. "Father, as evil men carry their agenda with them, lying in wait, we thank You in advance for Your prevailing plan to shelter Your people. We ask that You would grant guiding wisdom for all authorities to seek out and eradicate all terrorists. In Jesus' Name, amen."
• "You will also declare a thing, And it will be established for you; So light will shine on your ways. When they cast you down, and you say, 'Exaltation will come!' Then He will save the humble person. He will even deliver one who is not innocen; Yes, he will be delivered by the purity of your hands." (Job 22:28-30)

New White House Proposals Aimed At Restricting
Economic And Religious Freedom
The United States has always served as a roadblock to the one world order. Its fierce heritage of rugged individualism, entrepreneurship, and private enterprise has been a stalwart bulwark against the types of dictatorships necessary to foment a one world order. Presidents such as Jimmy Carter, George HW Bush, Bill Clinton, and George W Bush have all enacted policies that inched America closer to the one world order--they involve control of energy, banks, business regulation, free trade agreements and the list goes on and on. But no Administration has gone so far, so fast as the current one in preparing America for the one world order.
The White House and Congress are sprinting toward integrating America's businesses and finances into a worldwide network. Using the economic crisis as an excuse, the first action was to take ownership of key American industries--banking, mortgage, insurance and auto. They did so by amassing debt which forces citizens to participate because the ultimate responsibility for the debt lies with the taxpayers. This cleaver scheme allowed the Federal government to not only take ownership of companies and property through stock and mortgages, it also took ownership of the citizenry through debt.
Now that business and citizens are properly leveraged, the government will advance the one world agenda even faster. The current Administration will announce wide-sweeping regulations that would allow the government to take over private companies if the government considers them a threat to the stability of the economy. The man who occupies the Oval Office will also announce a plan to unify, coordinate and regulate global financial firms through a regulatory college. These measures will effectively place government control over all financial entities. International banker Meyer Rothschild said in the 1800s, "Give me the right to issue and control a nation's money and I care not who governs the country."
The Federal government controls the nation's money, and it is seizing control of the industry and personal finances. The result of this is seen ever so slightly in car dealerships of certain political persuasions being closed by policies forced by a government committee. This will only worsen as more restrictions are levied on the people. Perhaps the most devastating impact of America entering the one world order will be the restrictions on spreading the gospel. That alone should raise a fierce battle cry as Jesus Christ commanded us in Mark 16:15, "Go ye into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature." You can't do that if you are a slave to an anti-Christian government.
