Update: North America Union Conference

Spin Aside Bush Accelerating North American Union Plans

The Security and Prosperity Partnership, the public face of the secret plan to establish a European-like North American Union between Canada, Mexico and the United States, charged forward with behind doors plans to standardize economies, inter-country security, and open borders while the public spin at news conferences remained focused on three independent and sovereign nations seeking to cooperate for the common good of all the citizens of North America. The leaders were careful to use the word "cooperation" repeatedly as they described the outcome of the SPP meeting, when in reality they have set in motion inter-country standards and regulations that prepare the way for an economic union.

Even for polished and well-prepped heads of state, it was difficult to walk the tightrope between what is real and what they believe the public should know. Canada's Prime Minister Stephen Harper could hardly contain himself basking in the progress of the meetings as he said, "As sovereign nations in our modern world, we are not merely independent but also interdependent. And we are determined to cooperate for our mutual security, our continued economic growth, and the improvement of our North American relations [which] are unique in the world."

But the real tell tale of the secret plans to form a North American Union came in a direct question posed by a news reporter to the three leaders asking, "Can you say today that this is not a prelude to a North American union, similar to a European Union?" None of them directly answered the question. Using a traditional "deflect and build" political media strategy, President Bush ridiculed the idea as a conspiracy theory, "If you've been in politics as long as I have, you get used to that kind of technique where you lay out a conspiracy and then force people to try to prove it doesn't exist . . . It's quite comical, actually, when you realize the difference between reality and what some people are talking on TV about."

Given that none of the leaders would deny to the world that they are attempting to create a North American Union similar to the European Union, speaks volumes, especially when all the actions taken under the auspices of the SPP are to standardize economic regulations and border security operations. The sovereignty of the United States of America is in jeopardy-the nation sprouting from the seed of the pilgrims in Plymouth and the settlers at Jamestown in covenant with God is giving way to a secular new world structure. Jesus said in Matthew 5:13 of the salt losing its flavor, "It is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under the foot of men." Is this our destiny?
