Russian Crackdown On Iran Nuke Project A Ruse To Delay Military Action

Russia, according to European and U.S. diplomatic sources, says it is not going to deliver further nuclear fuel rods to Iran's Bushehr nuclear plant until the Iranian government lifts its veil of secrecy surrounding its nuclear program. The move, however, appears to be a ruse as other sources report that Russia has already delivered the initial fuel rods and is just trying to pressure Iran not to enter into an agreement on a Turkish gas pipeline that would cut into Russia's monopoly over the gas routes from Central Asia to Europe. Russian President Vladimir Putin also is calculating that if he appears tough on Iran that the U.S. will back off sanctions or military action on Iran, further protecting Russian investment there.

Security analyst DEBKAfile reports "Moscow calculates that its threat to twist Iran's arm on its nuclear secretiveness by delaying completion of the Bushehr reactor until late 2008 will boost the camp in Washington favoring diplomacy and sanctions over military action. Such delaying tactics will also help Iran by dragging out the unresolved military option up until the U.S. presidential election at the end of next year and Bush's departure from the White House." It would appear from this analysis that Putin is betting that the next U.S. president will be moderate or liberal and will not have a hard line approach toward Iran and its nuclear ambitions.

The nuclear plant at Bushehr is also a ruse. It is Iran's research project on how to enrich nuclear fuel and produce weapons of mass destruction by appearing to legitimately desire nuclear power. Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has repeatedly said that he wants to share Iran's nuclear technology with other Islamic nations for peaceful purposes. At the same time, he has called for the total destruction of Israel. Ahmadinejad is speaking in code. To the world, "peace" means a lack of hostility toward another nation, but to Islamofascists "peace" means the peace of Islam where all the world submits to Islamic rule and Islamic law.

Jesus Christ said in Matthew 12:35, "A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good things, and an evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth evil things." Putin and Ahmadinejad are evil men. Whatever they say or do should be viewed with great discernment. Putin has secret motives to his proclamations. Remember that Putin was taking illegal bribes from Saddam Hussein for Russia's favorable vote on the U.N. Security Council on sanctions against Iraq. And now Putin is trying to claim the resource rich Artic against international law. There is no end to the evil intent of evil hearts even if they appear to be doing a good thing.
