1. Olmert: Immediate goal is Palestinian state - Ynet News

The Israeli and Palestinian leadership will meet regularly to prepare for a Middle East peace summit in the United States scheduled for this fall, Prime Minister Ehud Olmert and Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud agreed during a meeting Monday.

2. Peres' aides confirm plan for PA state on land equal to 100% of West Bank - Ha'aretz

Aides to President Shimon Peres confirmed Tuesday a Haaretz report that Prime Minister Ehud Olmert is examining a new framework for peace, in which Israel will propose transferring to the Palestinian state areas equivalent to 100 percent of the territories conquered in 1967.

Prime Minister Ehud Olmert is to meet the Palestinian chairman, Mahmoud Abbas, in Jericho today to form a basic outline for future agreements ahead of the US- sponsored Mideast peace summit slated for the fall. This meeting marks the first time that an Israeli leader will visit a PA city since the outbreak of the second Intifada.

4. Israel destroys synagogue near 2nd holiest site - WND

Israeli security forces today, acting under orders from Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, amassed in Hebron -- the world's oldest Jewish city -- where they destroyed a synagogue and forcibly evicted two Jewish families from a Jewish-owned market place located within the city's Jewish community.
