The Daily Brief - Wednesday, December 8, 2010

"Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God." (Matthew 5:8)

The Daily Brief

1. Europe Urged to Halt Death Sentence of Iranian Pastor - Worthy News

A Christian member of the European Parliament urged the European Union's executive body, the European Commission, on Wednesday, December 1, to prevent the death sentence of Iranian house church leader Yousef Nadarkhani.

- God, we thank you and praise Your holy name for intervention regarding saving the life of this precious pastor. Bring out other Christian members of various groups to speak out against such savagery. Cover Yousef Nadarkhani with Your blood of protection and lead him out of chains to freedom to preach deliverance to the captives. In Jesus Name."

- "In God have I put my trust: I will not be afraid what man can do unto me. Your vows and promises are upon me, O God: I will render praises unto You." (Psalm 56:11-12)

2. Chinese Christian Rights Group Under 'Cyber Attack' - Worthy News

An advocacy group with close links to Chinese house church Christians said Thursday, December 2, that two of its Websites have collapsed under cyber attacks possibly originating from China.

- Father, we ask You to bless seven times more than was lost. Give this advocacy group godly wisdom to create new links that will spread the knowledge of God with greater power and greater protection from cyber attacks, and cover them with the blood of Jesus. We blow the trumpet of God over this. In Jesus Name.

- "I wisdom dwell with prudence, and find out knowledge of witty inventions." (Proverbs 8:12)

3. WikiLeaks: Syria gave Hizbullah Scud-D missiles - Jerusalem Post

The US lodged a complaint against Syria for providing "advanced ballistic missiles and other weaponry" to Hizbullah, shortly after Syrian President Bashar Assad denied doing so, according to documents released by WikiLeaks on Tuesday.

- Father, You are faithful to bring to light what has been done in secret so that all the world may see the evidence that has brought out the truth, and no lies can prevail. Cover the works of darkness and destruction with the blood of Jesus, that even though they presume victory, God's power will pull their creations to the ground and will grind them to powder and render them useless. In Jesus Name.

- "And in the greatness of God's excellency, He has overthrown them that rose up against you: God sent forth His wrath, which destroyed them as stubble." (Exodus 15:7)

4. Iran nuclear talks: New round agreed in Geneva - BBC

Iran and key world powers have agreed to meet for further talks on Iran's disputed nuclear program, in January in Istanbul.

- Father, we ask that You dispatch angels to hover over this proposed meeting. Disassemble Iran's nuclear program and pull down all attempts to build destructive nuclear missiles that would eventually be aimed at Israel, which has been the basis of their thrust and intent from the beginning. In Jesus Name.

- "And as soon as we had heard these things, our hearts did melt, neither did there remain any more courage in any man, because of Israel: for the Lord your God, He is God in heaven above, and in earth beneath." (Joshua 2:11)

5. Angry Democrats Could Punt on Tax Cut Deal - Fox News

Obama struggled Tuesday to prevent wholesale defections by fellow Democrats that could sink the tax deal he worked out with Republicans -- angry opposition that could subject millions of Americans to a big holiday-season tax increase.

- Father in heaven, let there be myriads of angels called forth to war against the implementation of this tax increase. Let the strength of man fail and be brought downward. Bring down any and all attempts to destroy the security of the American people by this levy. Raise up a company of powerful Republicans and Democrats who will lock arm to arm and raise their voices loud and clear against this tax deal. We declare the shout of victory over America. In Jesus Name.

- "Thine, O Lord, is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty: for all that is in the heaven and in the earth is Yours; Yours is the kingdom, O Lord, and You are exalted as head above all." (I Chronicles 29:11)

6. Judge Throws Out Challenge to Targeted Assassination - ABC News

In a victory for the Obama administration, a federal judge threw out a lawsuit today challenging the governments' authority to assassinate Anwar Al-Awlaki, a U.S. citizen hiding in Yemen.

- God, disallow this judge's actions and throw a lasso around this case and bring it into divine justice. Let the powers that be succumb to God's authority, and what seemed to be a victory shall come to defeat. It is truth that the guilty shall reap his sin whether in America or in Yemen. In the Name of Jesus.

- "Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man sows, that shall he also reap." (Galatians 6:7)

7. Church-goers tend to be happier people - MSNBC

Religious people are more satisfied with their lives than nonbelievers, but a new study finds it's not a relationship with God that makes the devout happy. Instead, the satisfaction boost may come from closer ties to earthly neighbors.

- Father, we declare the Word of God here that when God pulls people together in relationships with one another, the satisfaction comes that there is sweet unity which brings peace, which comes from love. It is godly love in the hearts of the people that overcomes disunity and sin. In Jesus Name.

- "But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin." (I John 1:7)

This week, for all the headlines cited below, please join us in proclaiming THIS DECREE:

"When the heavens are shut up and there is no rain because your people have sinned against you, and when they pray toward this place and give praise to your name and turn from their sin because you have afflicted them, 36 then hear from heaven and forgive the sin of your servants, your people Israel. Teach them the right way to live, and send rain on the land you gave your people for an inheritance." (I Kings 8:35,36))

1. US, Israel, PA fail to reach settlement freeze deal - Jerusalem Post

The US-led diplomatic process between Israel and the Palestinian Authority is going back to the drawing board, a senior US official announced Tuesday night. Following consultation with the sides, it was determined that a further settlement moratorium would not provide the basis for a framework agreement.

2. Top Dutch politician: Jews should emigrate to Israel or U.S. - Ha'aretz

A prominent Dutch politician sparked a heated debate in the Netherlands this week by saying practicing Jews had "no future here, and should emigrate to the U.S. or Israel."

3. Palestinian State recognized by Latin American giants - ICEJ News

Following the lead of Brazil, Argentina announced on Monday that it recognizes a "free and independent" Palestinian state, as Argentina's President Cristina Kirchner sent Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas a letter saying her country recognized a Palestine defined by the 1967 borders, and Uruguay issued a statement that it will make a similar announcement in 2011.

4. Egypt: Sinai shark attacks could be Israeli plot - ICEJ News

Egyptian officials have announced that they believe a fatal shark attack in the water off the Sinai beach on Sunday which killed a German woman could have been a plot by the Israeli Mossad. Israeli officials responded by saying the claims were too ludicrous to comment on, and issued an advisory warning against travel to Sinai due to plots against Israelis by terrorist groups linked to al-Qaida.

The Daily Jot

Our choices and the current prophetic times

The one world order is advancing at a faster pace than at any time. One example is the global approach to solving economic problems--problems that appear to have been created to give globalists the opportunity to band governments together. Another example is how religions are melding together with world leaders, even ones who believe they are Christians, saying there is more than one path to heaven. Militaries are working together to solve disaster issues; the move in sovereign nations to open borders and trade; and the way international law and Sharia law are influencing legal processes in many countries, including America. Worldwide Christians are persecuted. And its starting now in the US.

Revelation 13:7-8 says of the antichrist, "And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven. And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations." We know that out of the foundation that is being laid right now at a very fast pace, the stage for an antichrist is being prepared. Until then, there may be many types and shadows. John 7 says, "For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist."

The march of prophecy cannot be stopped, but our place in prophecy can be determined by the decisions we make. Revelation 14:9-11 says, "...If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand, The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation: and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb: And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name."

Our lives are full of choices. There are consequences to them--either good or bad. But Jesus told us several times to not be deceived. And he was particularly speaking about those in the position of religious authority. John reaffirms this, as does Paul and Peter. These are days where you must test each matter before you against the truth of the Word of God. Each leader, each pastor, each prophet, each teacher--their words should be compared with their actions, and their words and actions measured by the Holy Scriptures. And in order to do this, you must know the Scriptures--not from a book written about them by men or women, but by first hand reading and studying. Choices can be forever. Make them wisely.

Have a Blessed and Powerful Day!

URGENT PRAYER ALERT NOW!!

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid to call vote to overturn "Don't Ask Don't Tell" TONIGHT!

VOTE IS IMMINENT!!

We have an emergency tonight: Harry Reid wants to spring a surprise vote on the overturn of Don't Ask, Don't Tell, TONIGHT - literally any minute

Those of you who have been following this, know that American people have had the wool pulled over their eyes. The impact of this will be bigger than any other evil pro-homosexual policy initiative that has come down the pike so far.

Please urge your networks to pray, too, and if they are willing to make a call to their Senator, or to one or more of the squishy Senators, here is a list I got directly from the homosexual activists - they are on the phone right now all over the country.

Ask them to vote NOT to repeal Don't Ask Don't Tell, but to keep the measure in place, and ask them to vote against the Burris Amendment which would require abortions to be performed in military hospitals. Ask them to vote against the Defense Authorization bill if these measures are not removed from the bill. Tell them you think both of these measures will harm our military men and women and their families, diminish the effectiveness of military services and thus the security of our nation.

This is an emergency! Ask God to stop this in its tracks!

The Good News Corner

The Amish come to Israel, ask Jews for forgiveness

In a seemingly unprecedented move, a group of Amish Christians from the US made widespread use of modern technology - including airplanes, tour buses and even iPhones - in order to come to Israel and apologize to the Jews.

The Amish are most notable to outsiders for their shunning of the technological conveniences that have made life so fast-paced for everyone else. But they did not shy away from using whatever means necessary to accomplish what they viewed as the vitally important task of making things right between their community and Israel.

The Amish, both in the US and Europe, have a long history of anti-Semitism and have traditionally been firm proponents of Replacement Theology, which claims that God cast aside the Jews for their widespread rejection of Jesus as their messiah. Many Amish once believed the Nazi Holocaust was God's punishment for that rejection of Jesus, and actually applauded Hitler.
"We are here to say we are sorry," group leader Ben Girod told Israel's Channel 2 News as the group visited the Western Wall in Jerusalem. "God reminded me that this is not who He is. We no longer want to reject you or look at you as not being God's people. You were God's people long before we were."

Group member Jonas added, "Our people have had some bad attitudes toward the Jewish people and have rejected the Jewish people to a certain extent, and we have come to restore that and apologize."

In another clip, Girod is shown reading Psalm 121:4 to the group, reminding them that "He who keeps Israel will neither slumber nor sleep."

But the group did not only speak of these things amongst themselves. A strong declaration printed on a beautiful parchment was presented Rabbi Shmuel Rabinovitch, who oversees the Western Wall, on behalf of the entire Amish community. In the declaration, the Amish ask Israel's forgiveness "for our collective sin of pride and selfishness by ignoring the plight of the Jewish people and the nation of Israel."

The document concludes by committing the Amish from this point forward to speak out strongly in support of the Jews and the Jewish state.

During their stay in Jerusalem, the group made great efforts to interact with average Israelis, who needed little prodding to satisfy their curiosity regarding these odd-looking foreigners who had come with a message of such warmth and love. (Israel Today) Read more.

Capitol Hill Prayer Partners is praising God tonight for this wonderful act of reconciliation between the Amish people and the Jews in Israel.

Our partners may recall that CHPP, in association with several other ministries, offered a similar Letter of Repentance to the Jewish People, that was read inside the Knesset at the first Jerusalem Assembly on March 28, 2007.
