Repeat the Lord's Prayer 4 Times

Repeat the Lord's Prayer Four Times

At noon each day please Stop what you are doing and Slowly, Thoughtfully, Deliberately, "overcome evil with good" by Praying The LORD'S PRAYER (Matthew 6:9-13) . . . four times:

Why Repeat Four Times?

Why Do We Repeat the Lord's Prayer Four Times?

- The first time praying that His Kingdom come, His Will be done . . . in you and your family.

- The second time praying that His Kingdom come, His Will be done . . . in your church and the body of Christ.

- The third time praying that His Kingdom come, His Will be done . . . in your city and state.

- The fourth time praying that His Kingdom come, His Will be done . . . in the United States of America.

Aligning with Hanukkah

Aligning with Hanukkah

These specific days of prayer align with Hanukkah, the Festival of Lights, celebrating the 165 B.C. cleansing and Rededication of the Temple in Jerusalem. Christ Himself acknowledged this celebration in the Gospel of John in Chapter 10 and verses 22-42.

Each day as we pray the LORD'S PRAYER (four times), believing for His Kingdom to come and His Will to be done, we will be aligning with the following:
The Cleansing of the Temple (for us, the opportunity to obey our Lord's call to repent:

"From that time Yeshua began to preach, and to say, 'Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.'" (Matthew 4:17)
The Rededication of the Temple (for us, the privilege to receive His forgiveness and rededicate our lives to Him:

"Then said Yeshua unto his disciples,

'If any will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it. For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works.'
(Matthew 16:24-27)
The Festival of Lights (for us, the honor to accept our Lord's invitation to represent Him in the earth: "Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hid."
(Matthew 5:14)
"And Yeshua came and spake unto them, saying, 'All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world.' Amen."
(Matthew 28:18-20)

Personalizing Your Prayer

Personalizing Your Prayer:

An Example of "how to do this"

For each of these 4 levels of prayer (family, church, city/state, nation) we want to "personalize" the Lord's prayer by inserting the needed names at each level.

For instance: if you are praying for a family member named "John," your prayer would be spoken as follows:

Our Father in Heaven, hallowed be your name in John.

Your Kingdom come in John. Your will be done in John on earth as it is in Heaven.

Give John today his daily bread.

Forgive John's sins, as he also forgives everyone who sins against (him).

And lead John not into temptation, but deliver John from the evil one.

(For Yours is the Kingdom and the Power and the Glory forever.) Amen.

(Matthew 6:9-13 & Luke 11:2-4)

Taking it to the Next Level

Taking it to the Next Level:

Entering into On-Site Prayer in Washington, D.C. and/or in your own State Capital!

If you would like to take this time in prayer to the next level, I invite you to join me in Washington DC for all or some of the days, December the 3rd through the 10th. I plan to be on the National Mall at noon each day at the Sylvan Theater (located at the south side of the Washington Monument) and I would love to have the company! Or, I would like to suggest that as many of you as can, go to your state capitals each of those days to pray. But, whatever you are able to do and wherever you find yourself, please, please, please invite friends and family on December 3 - 10 at noon to pray the LORD'S PRAYER four times consecutively as we ". . . overcome evil with good."

Prayer for Spiritual Wisdom

I would like to close this letter with Paul's prayer from Ephesians 1:15-23:

15 Therefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints, 16 do not cease to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers: 17 that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, 18 the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, 19 and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power 20 which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, 21 far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come.

22 And He put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be head over all things to the church, 23 which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all.

Pass It On!

Pass It On!

(Please feel free to distribute freely . . . Even to other nations where, when praying the LORD'S PRAYER the 3rd and 4th time, instead of praying for "state" and "USA", you can easily replace with other regions and nations!)

Please note . . .

Please note . . .

We have been blessed and delighted to share Sheri Carbone's national prayer strategy during the 8 days of Hanukkah for your own prayerful consideration.

Please note, though, that for those of you who have participated with us in Operation Refining Fire (the 24/7 call to prayers of REPENTANCE until the fires went out), there is more to come!

Sheri's strategy is not the same as that which we are working on; and we will have more news about the next step in the repentance prayers for you shortly.

Thank you all, God bless you, and (next week), Happy Hanukkah to our Jewish friends, too!
In Him,

About CHPP

About Capitol Hill Prayer Partners (CHPP)

Our Mission Statement

Capitol Hill Prayer Partners (CHPP) is a ministry which is positioned on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., helping members of the Body of Christ to "pray for those in authority over us" in our federal government. Our primary purpose is to offer intercession on site for the members of Congress and their staffs each day that the Senate and the House of Representatives are in session; and our chief prayer focus is that "God's will be done in earth, as it is in heaven." [Matthew 6:10].

Because Jesus Christ has shed His blood for all, we, too, pray for ALL, in a nonpartisan manner. Also, because the scriptures indicate that "the effectual, fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much" (James 4:17), we are confident that fervent prayer, offered in the halls of the highest chambers of government in our land, can avail much for America. Capitol Hill Prayer Partners welcomes those who feel called to join us, engaging in this strategic work of intercession for our nation: "For there is no power but of God; the powers that be are ordained of God." [Romans 13:1]
