Season Five; Episode One

Once again this year, CBS is featuring a series called "Madame Secretary", featuring the life of Secretary of State Elizabeth McCord, who is played by Tea Leoni.
This program is shown at 10:00 p.m. on Sundays, and every so often, I do take a "time out" to view it.
In recent weeks, the ads for this program showed a special episode, in which Secretary McCord asked those who had served as Secretaries of State in days past to join her. Secretary McCord was seeking guidance about how to address the nation in the aftermath of a series of attacks on federal buildings (including the White House), perpetrated by a nationalist movement.
Hillary Clinton, Colin Powell, and Madeline Albright responded to her call for help, and met together in her office, at the end of last night's episode. They each shared their thoughts about what she could say that would give the people hope in light of these recent attacks.
Because these top leaders were going to play "themselves" in this episode, I chose to watch and to study last night's episode of "Madame Secretary". What follows in today's alert are my thoughts since then.
Please join me as we examine the narrative of this episode, and seek the Lord if there might be a "meaning behind the meaning" of this story . . . hence Decoding the Code.

"Madam Secretary" Premiere Recap
Season Five; Episode One
(Excerpt)
Though everyone suspected foreign terrorists were responsible for the attack, the culprits turned out to be American white nationalists . . . a shaken Elizabeth summoned three former secretaries of state - Gen. Colin Powell, Madeline Albright and Hillary Clinton - to seek their counsel about how to handle messaging.
Elizabeth's predecessors agreed that her remarks had to reassure the country and remind citizens that the United States' strength lies in its core democratic values. The terrorists "attack what has made American great, and still does, and that is our diversity," Clinton noted, in what may or may not be a sly dig on President Donald Trump's favorite slogan.
In general, Clinton, Albright and Powell suggested that Elizabeth talk about what unites Americans, and that's exactly what she did. In a speech at the memorandum signing, Elizabeth called nationalism "the existential threat of our time" and made it clear that nationalism is not patriotism, "but a perversion of it."

Decoding the Code:
A Not-too-subtle Message
The narrative on this show, spoken by all four "secretaries of state," had one common theme: "nationalism" is a dangerous position while "patriotism" is beneficial to all.
The confusion between these two terms and . . . coming just four weeks before our national election . . . can reap great harm to our people.
On the show, "nationalists" are actually white supremacists who advance their cause through violent means and who (like Hitler's men) believe that only white men are true Americans.
"Patriotism" on the other hand is a global mindset, bent on our nation coming into alignment with all others. The unspoken message here is that we must all be marching towards a New World Order together.
Hence (again the unspoken message) is that the phrase "Make America Great Again" flies in the face of their "true" patriotism, which is a lie!
Please pray with us that our people not be fooled by this narrative, but will instead enter the last few weeks of this election season in the spirit of civil discourse -- not by staging violent demonstrations.

Patriotism or national pride is the ideology of love and devotion to a homeland, and a sense of alliance with other citizens who share the same values. This attachment can be a combination of many different features relating to one's own homeland, including ethnic, cultural, political or historical aspects. Nationalism is a political, social, and economic system characterized by the promotion of the interests of a particular nation, especially with the aim of gaining and maintaining sovereignty (self-governance) over the homeland. The political ideology of nationalism holds that a nation should govern itself, free from outside interference and is linked to the concept of self-determination. Nationalism is further oriented towards developing and maintaining a national identity based on shared, social characteristics, such as culture and language, religion and politics, and a belief in a common ancestry. Returning to last night's episode of "Madame Secretary," it is directly implied that any nation, or individual, who holds to a "nationalist" mindset may be a dangerous citizen, while true patriots will yield up the nation's sovereignty for the "greater good" of world peace, etc. Nothing can be further from the truth!

Don't Be Fooled!
Those of us who have a deep love of our country, and who hold to its Judeo-Christian roots, can be rightfully proud of our heritage. And as voters, we need to support those candidates who are of like mind.
We are NOT a dangerous people -- we are only "dangerous" to the socialists among us who are working to transform America into a "democratic socialist" state.
Instead, we continue to proudly work together to "make America great again."

Our stand and our message as Kingdom-minded intercessors
Victory through the Cross!
Here are several steps we can take now, to remain on track with the Holy Spirit in these challenging times.
1. Realize that our warfare is in the heavenlies.
We are not contending against flesh and blood (people) but against the forces that are controlling them. This victory has already been won at the Cross; we simply need to enforce that which has already been won. Our goal is not political -- our goal is to see many won to Christ in these latter days.
"For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms." (Eph. 6:12)
2. Begin by forgiving
As we forgive those who hate us and would despitefully use us (Matthew 5:44) we are acting in obedience to Scripture. In so doing, the "veil" that is over their minds is removed, and the lost are able to receive the Gospel. They are given "eyes to see, and ears to hear" what the Spirit would speak to them. Hallelujah!
3. Rejoice in God's faithfulness and in His answers to prayer.
"The LORD is far from the wicked, but he hears the prayer of the righteous."
(Proverbs 15:29)
4. Work to stay on track
In these challenging times, let's ask our Lord for grace to help in time of need, so that we each remain focused on the job set before us, to "stay the course."
"But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me." (2 Corinthians 12:9)
5. Ask specifically that all who saw last night's episode of "Madame Secretary" see and reject its hidden message.
May we all walk instead, in truth.
"And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." (John 8:32)
6. Finally, thank our Lord for giving us this great nation to live in!
May we embrace and cherish our freedoms, always, and may we rejoice, too, that He has given us a President who truly wants to "Make America Great Again."

We're in Trouble:
Americans Have Almost Entirely Forgotten Their History
In America, we celebrate democracy and are justifiably proud that this nation was founded on the idea that the people should rule.
That's why it is so important that Americans be informed about their government. They are partakers in it. In fact, they control it.
Under tyrannical systems, it matters little if the people are informed about political life. Autocrats make decisions for the people whether they like it or not. But in our republic, we rely on the informed decision-making of citizens to judge policies and the leaders who will implement them.
Unfortunately, we are not very well-informed.
According to a recently released survey, Americans are woefully uneducated about the most basic facts of our history, to the point where most couldn't even pass a basic citizenship test.
A study by the Woodrow Wilson National Fellowship Foundation found that only 1 in 3 Americans can actually pass the U.S. citizenship test, which asks the most basic questions about our history and how our system of government works.
"With voters heading to the polls next month, an informed and engaged citizenry is essential," Arthur Levine, president of the Woodrow Wilson Fellowship Foundation, said.
"Unfortunately, this study found the average American to be woefully uninformed regarding America's history and incapable of passing the U.S. citizenship test. It would be an error to view these findings as merely an embarrassment. Knowledge of the history of our country is fundamental to maintaining a democratic society, which is imperiled today."
. . . we've failed to uphold Ronald Reagan's call for an informed patriotism and more civic ritual - necessary qualities for the maintenance of a free country - in favor of negative and ideologically narrow accounts of America's past now en vogue in our schools.
This is a recipe for a dark future and needs to change.

The prophetic fall out from Kavanaugh
The Brett Kavanaugh Supreme Court confirmation was the most vile, divisive, uncivil, immoral, unethical display of scorched-earth politics witnessed by Americans in recent history. No matter how much the Democratic Party tries to hang on its opponents for confirming Kavanaugh, there is nothing that excuses the shameful behavior of Democrats and their supporting cast of leftists, communists and anarchists. All the deeds they accused the conservatives of doing-lying, violence, harassment, bullying, victimization, hypocrisy-they themselves put on full display before the world. The poster child moment was crazed women clawing and banging on the Supreme Court doors during the swearing in ceremony.
What is this all about? Folks, we have to discern. It was not about abortion, race, religion, or LGBTQ rights. Those were only the fear issues that the puppeteers used to cobble together a coalition of useful pawns that could be whipped up into a frenzy or paid to act out on cue. The real issue here is the communist revolution to overthrow the Constitutional Republic of the United States. It had progressed quite well over the years with only a road bump during the Reagan years. Before that, and afterwards, it's been an easy and gradual slide into socialism. Socialists have embedded in all aspects of the government awaiting their complete takeover, which was supposed to be crowned with Hillary Clinton's coronation.
When that didn't happen, Americans had to pay the price. A "resistance" movement began. It became very aggressive, and at times, violent. We have not seen the peak yet. The Kavanaugh confirmation has only exposed it further. The prophetic fallout from Kavanaugh is this: Expect further division, more bullying, extraordinary legal actions, more outlandish claims from leftists in Hollywood and at so-called news organizations. Expect to be further disenfranchised and labeled if you challenge any part of the coup-makers' agenda. Everything they do and think will be projected onto those with whom they disagree. There will be further, even violent, condemnation of those who follow Christ.
These are of the seed of rebellion. It's not only rebellion against law and order, its root is rebellion against God. As Jude writes: "It was needful for me to write unto you and exhort you that you should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints. For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ. Likewise also these filthy dreamers defile the flesh, despise dominion, and speak evil of dignities." This is what is happening in our nation. As Christ followers, we must be a prophetic people to stand in the gap and shine the light of salvation and righteousness. We have a say here, and the freedom to say it. Let's use it so we don't lose it.

The confirmation fight is over. Judge Kavanaugh is now Justice Kavanaugh.
But the battle for the heart and soul of America rages on.
Over the weekend, President Trump warned that Democrats have become an "angry left-wing mob" that is "too extreme and too dangerous to govern."
He's right!
If the Kavanaugh hearings proved anything it is that the left has abandoned the rule of law and the presumption of innocence.
In the left's fevered mind, the courts have little do with justice. They are just another tool for the left to exercise its power and control over our lives.
President Trump has delivered two solid Supreme Court justices in Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh.
Now we must deliver for him!
The president needs reinforcements in Congress.
He needs more allies, not more leftists trying to impeach him and his judges.
We MUST elect more pro-life, pro-Trump conservatives to Congress!
