President Trump Visits Pittsburgh

President Trump and First Lady visit Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh


In the immediate aftermath of Saturday's anti-Semitic attack, President Donald J. Trump condemned the shooting as an act of "pure evil" and called on the Nation to come together as one people united in a struggle for justice, safety, tolerance, and love.

Today, the President and First Lady visited Pittsburgh to meet with family members of the victims and mourn the loss of life with the entire community.

Their first stop was the Tree of Life Synagogue, where 11 Jewish Americans were murdered during a baby-naming ceremony Saturday morning. Accompanied by Rabbi Jeffrey Myers, President Trump and the First Lady walked alongside one another, placing a white flower and small stone on each of the 11 stars erected in a makeshift memorial outside the synagogue. Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner followed a few steps behind, pausing at each star.
Inside the synagogue, the President and First Lady lit candles for each of the 11 victims.
Before leaving Pittsburgh, President Trump visited with wounded law enforcement officers and injured victims at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center's Presbyterian Hospital. "These were very brave officers. These are incredible people of law enforcement," the President said after the attack on Saturday. "They're really unsung heroes."

1. High Voter Turnout in Israel's Municipal Races, But Surprises Abound - Jerusalem Post

Tuesday's municipal elections attracted a 55% turnout, some 10% higher than the local races five years ago, according to Interior Ministry figures released as polls closed.

Turnout was higher than usual in cities across the country, because the municipal election was declared a work holiday for the first time.

In Jerusalem, the turnout was unchanged at 49% not counting Arab neighborhoods, leading haredi (ultra-Orthodox) participation in the election to be much higher than in other sectors of the capital's population.

2. Israel appoints first woman ambassador to Egypt - World Israel News

The Israeli Foreign Ministry has named Amira Oron as Israel's next ambassador to Egypt.

This is the first time Israel has named a woman ambassador to Cairo since the peace treaty was established between the two countries in 1979.

Oron was appointed by the Supreme Appointments Committee of the Foreign Ministry, which is headed by Israeli Foreign Ministry Director-General Yuval Rotem. She is set to replace David Govrin, who has been serving as Israel's ambassador to Cairo since 2016.

3. Breaking! In dramatic move, PLO pulls out of all agreements with Israel - Israel Hayom

The Palestine Liberation Organization's Central
Council declared that it was suspending its recognition of Israel until Israel agrees to acknowledge an independent Palestinian state within the 1967 borders and with east Jerusalem as its capital, Ramallah's Wafa news agency reported Monday.

The council further decided to suspend all security
and economic ties with Israel, as outlined in the ‎‎1994 Paris Economic Protocol.

The decision, announced after a
two-day meeting in Ramallah, is declarative and nonbinding, the report said.

According to the report, the PLO essentially wants
to cease compliance with the 1993 Oslo Accord, on which the Israeli-Palestinian peace process is founded.

Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas would
‎‎have to ratify the council's decision for it to ‎‎actually spell the PA backing out of the Oslo ‎‎Accords.

4. Palestinians: Don't Kill American Jews, Only Israeli Jews - United with Israel

In a rare move, the Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned Saturday's murder of 11 Jews in the Tree of Life synagogue in Pittsburgh by the anti-Semite Robert Bowers.

The ministry condemned the "terror attack" that "cost the lives of Jewish American citizens," referring to the neo-Nazi ideology as "based on the supremacy of the white race and its hegemony."

Palestinian Media Watch, a watchdog that monitors Palestinian incitement and anti-Semitism, pointed out that this condemnation of the murder of Jews is a remarkable change from the standard Palestinian Authority (PA) message to Palestinians, which usually consists of a call to murder Jews.

5. Likud minister calls for 'peace and security' at Dubai conference - Times of Israel

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates - Communications Minister Ayoub Kara called for "peace and security" on Tuesday during a visit to the United Arab Emirates, as Israel launches an unprecedented diplomatic push into Gulf states.

"Peace and security in every state with economic and scientific progress is what guarantees a future for the coming generations," Kara, a member of the ruling Likud party, said at a telecommunications conference in Dubai.

Kara's statement comes amid a diplomatic push by Israel in the mainly Sunni Gulf, which Israel sees as an ally against Shiite power Iran.

It follows visits by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to Oman on Thursday and Culture and Sports Minister Miri Regev to Abu Dhabi at the weekend.

1. Trump visits Pittsburgh synagogue to pay respects to victims of massacre - Fox News

President Trump on Tuesday visited the synagogue in Pittsburgh where a gunman over the weekend opened fire and killed 11 people in the bloodiest anti-Semitic attack in U.S. history. The president traveled to Squirrel Hill, the historic hub of the city's Jewish community and the location of Tree of Life synagogue. Trump was accompanied by first lady Melania Trump, his daughter, Ivanka, son-in-law Jared Kushner, Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin and White House Chief of Staff John Kelly.

Accompanied by Rabbi Jeffrey Myers, the president and first lady laid white roses and stones from the White House - a Jewish tradition - at the makeshift memorial outside the synagogue. Trump's visit came on the day that Pittsburgh's Jewish community held the first in a weeklong series of funerals for the 11 people killed -- allegedly by 46-year-old Robert Gregory Bowers -- amid complaints in some quarters that his presence would take too much focus off the dead.

"Well, I'm just going to pay my respects," Trump told Fox News' Laura Ingraham on Monday. "I'm also going to the hospital to see the officers and some of the people that were so badly hurt." Following his time at the synagogue, Trump traveled to the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center to visit the injured victims, including four police officers wounded by gunfire during Saturday's attack, and the hospital staff. 2. Trump plans to sign executive order curbing birthright citizenship: report - Fox News

President Trump said in a newly released interview he plans to sign an executive order ending so-called "birthright citizenship" for babies of non-citizens born on U.S. soil -- a move that would mark a major overhaul of immigration policy and trigger an almost-certain legal battle. Birthright citizenship allows any baby born on U.S. soil to automatically be a U.S. citizen.

The policy, which stems from a disputed but long-recognized interpretation of the 14th Amendment, has given rise to what Trump considers abuse of the immigration system. Trump told "Axios on HBO" that the U.S. is the only country in the world "where a person comes in and has a baby, and the baby is essentially a citizen of the United States ... with all of those benefits."

Under current policy, anyone born in the U.S. - regardless of whether they are delivered by a non-citizen or undocumented immigrant - is considered a citizen. The interpretation has been blamed for so-called 'birth tourism' and chain migration. The 14th Amendment states: "All persons born or naturalized in the United States and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside." - Father, we pray this necessary piece of immigration reform will be implemented by President Trump as soon as possible. Give him wisdom as he develops an Executive Order.

3. Trump Says U.S. Will Build 'Tent Cities' to House 'Caravan' Migrants - CNS News

The administration plans to "build tent cities" to accommodate any of the Central American "caravan" migrants who arrive at the border and seek asylum, President Trump said Monday. Speaking to Fox News' Laura Ingraham on a day when the Pentagon announced that more than 5,000 active duty troops are being deployed to support U.S. Customs and Border Protection to "harden" the southwest border, Trump repeated his position that the columns of migrants heading through Mexico in a bid to reach the U.S. would not be allowed to bypass legal procedures.

"If they want to come into the country, you have to apply, like other people," Trump said. "This caravan is not- they're wasting their time." Unlike the previously-implemented "catch and release" policy, he said, "we're catching, we're not releasing.'

"We're going to put up- we're going to build tent cities," he replied. "We're going to put tents up all over the place. We're not going to build structures and spend all of this, you know, hundreds of millions of dollars. We're going to have tents - they're going to be very nice - and they're going to wait, and if they don't get asylum, they get out." (Read more)

- Father, we pray this policy change to house migrants in tent cities will help separate true refugees from those who have ulterior motives for entering the country.

4. Two Satan-worshiping girls planned to kill middle school classmates, drink victims' blood - ABC

Police say two middle school girls, who worship Satan, armed themselves with knives in a foiled plot to violently kill classmates and drink their blood at school on Tuesday. According to the Bartow Police Department, a student warned a teacher on Monday about one of the girl's mentioning that "something bad" would happen in building 500 of the middle school. The superintendent said extra officers were at the school on Tuesday as a result of this warning. They found the two girls in a bathroom.

"They noted that they wanted to kill at least 15 people and were waiting in the bathroom to find smaller kids that they could overpower to be their victims," Bartow Police Chief Joe Hall said. When asked about motivation, the girls reportedly told police that they were Satan worshipers. According to police, the girls planned to drink their victims' blood out of the goblet they were found with. They also discussed eating their victims' flesh and leaving body parts at the school's entrance before killing themselves.

Police say they believe that the parents of the two girls had no knowledge of their plot or Satanic ideals. Both of the students were arrested and charged with conspiracy to commit murder, possession of a weapon on school property, and disrupting a school campus. Prosecutors will decide whether the girls will be charged formally as juveniles or adults. The girls currently remain in police custody. Polk County Schools Superintendent Jacqueline Byrd says that they will be filing for expulsion. (Read more)

- Father, this story is inconceivably wicked. We pray the authorities find out how these girls were inspired to do such things and that they will get the spiritual deliverance they need.

- Repent of this wickedness and pray to the Lord in the hope that he may forgive you for having such a thought in your heart. (Acts 8:22)


5. Actor James Cromwell warns of 'blood in the streets' if Democrats don't win election - FoxNews

Character actor James Cromwell was honored at the fourth annual Carney Awards, where he used his platform to call for change in the United States and warn of violence if President Trump and his allies remain in office. Speaking to Variety at the event, he warned of the turn that he sees America taking and cautioned there will be "blood in the streets" if Republicans remain in control.

"This is nascent fascism. We always had a turnkey, totalitarian state - all we needed was an excuse, and all the institutions were in place to turn this into pure fascism," Cromwell said. "If we don't stop [President Trump] now, then we will have a revolution for real. Then there will be blood in the streets."

"We're living in very curious times, and something is coming up which is desperately important to this country and to this planet, and that is an election, in which hopefully in some measure we are going to take back our democracy," he said. "We will have a government that represents us and not the donor class. We will cut through the corruption, [and] we won't have to do what comes next, which is either a non-violent revolution or a violent one, because this has got to end." (Read more)

6. Oregon Could Elect Its First Republican Governor In Nearly Four Decades - Daily Caller

Oregon voters are on the cusp of putting a Republican in the state governor's mansion for the first time in nearly 40 years. Such a move would break convention and shift a reliably blue state into a win for the GOP.

Many Oregonians and some conservative critics believe Democratic Gov. Kate Brown has not moved forcefully enough to close a yawning $22 billion public pension deficit. So, they're looking at Brown's opponent Knute Buehler, a two-term representative in the state who has criticized President Donald Trump in the past. His moderate tone is gaining some steam.

Oregon would join the handful of states Clinton won in 2016 that have Republican governors. The race is still tight, with recent polls showing Brown ahead by less than 5 percentage points. RealClearPolitics, Cook Political Report, and other polling outfits are rating the race a "toss up."

"People in this state are getting tired, especially urban, educated well-to-do people," Elliott Moore, a lifelong Democrat who plans to vote for Buehler, told reporters. "He's not perfect but I think he is willing to have a conversation about what we need to fix in this state that wasn't being had." (Read more)

7. Pence stuns Jews with prayers by 'Christian rabbi' after temple massacre - Yahoo.com

American Jews, in shock over the massacre of 11 people at a Pittsburgh synagogue, voiced outrage Tuesday after Vice President Mike Pence hosted an election event with a so-called "Christian rabbi." Pence took part late Monday in a campaign rally for Lena Epstein, a Jewish Republican running for the House of Representatives, in suburban Detroit, Michigan.

Instead of opening up with prayers for the 11 Jews shot dead Saturday at the Tree of Life synagogue, Jacobs praised Jesus Christ and then offered prayers for four Republican candidates. "I pray that you will enable Vice President Pence to fulfill his many and important responsibilities with excellence," he added.

At the end of the rally, Pence, a devout Christian and hero of evangelicals, invited Jacobs back to say a prayer for the victims as "a leader of the Jewish community here in Michigan." (Read more)

- Father God, in these convoluted and confusing times, it is so easy to misinterpret or to misunderstand a report we see in the news. We ask for Your mantle of grace to cover the aftermath of this event, and continued favor for the leadership of our Vice President, in Your name, amen.

8. Christian News Site 'LifeSite' Blacklisted by Web Host - Breitbart

LifeSite, a Christian pro-life news outlet, was allegedly blacklisted by its web host and given just 12 hours to find another host the website, or risk being offline.

"LifeSite just received an email at 8:30 p.m. EST from our web-hosting company alerting us that they will be taking our website down within 12 hours, if not sooner," claimed LifeSite in a statement, Saturday. "We received absolutely no forewarning whatsoever about this decision."

"Our web developer is scrambling right now to set up a possibly-needed temporary solution to keep the website live. However, we're going to have to go through the ordeal and expense of moving server companies," the news outlet continued. "We also intend to fight these attacks, which will carry significant legal costs."

On its website, LifeSite describes itself as a "non-profit Internet service dedicated to issues of culture, life, and family," launched by the pro-life Campaign Life Coalition in 1997, which "emphasizes the social worth of traditional Judeo-Christian principles but is also respectful of all authentic religions and cultures that esteem life, family and universal norms of morality." - Father, we pray for an end to the online censorship of conservatives. Help our elected officials know how best to resolve this.

9. US and Arab states affirm commitment to new security alliance - The National

A military conference in Bahrain has affirmed Washington's push to create a new security and political alliance with Arab Gulf states, Egypt and Jordan, to combat Iranian expansion in the region. US Secretary of Defence James Mattis said Washington is in discussions to form an inclusive Middle East Strategic Alliance (MESA) during the two-day meeting.

"The United States is committed to working by, with, and through allies and partners across the region to make this concept a reality and reinforce deterrence of hostile actions," Mr Mattis said during his address. Washington is pushing for a deeper cooperation between the Arab states on missile defence, military training, counter terrorism and strengthening regional and economic and diplomatic relations.

MESA "is an alliance for security and prosperity for the region and will be open to those who accept its principles," Sheikh Khalid said, adding that the alliance would also cooperate on economic issues. Washington reiterated support for its regional partners to defend themselves against Iranian-backed Houthi attacks on their territories and at the same time called for an urgent end to the fighting in Yemen. 10. Chinese military secretly placing scientists in U.S. universities - Washington Times

The Chinese government is engaged in [a] campaign of secretly enrolling the nation's prize military scientists in Western universities to gain expertise in such areas as "hypersonic missiles and navigation technology," according to a new report from a think tank tied to Australia's defense ministry.

The report by the Australian Strategic Policy Institute claims the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) has paid for "more than 2,500 military scientists and engineers to study abroad," with many of them hiding their official ties to China's defense community. A key focus of Beijing's program, the institute suggests, is to place the scientists in universities located in the so-called "Five Eyes countries" - parlance referring to the U.S., U.K., Canada, Australia and New Zealand. "Those countries don't count China as a security ally but rather treat it as one of their main intelligence adversaries," it says, warning that "it's not clear that Western universities and governments are fully aware of this phenomenon." Discerning deceit as a prophetic people


Christ said in Matthew 24:4, "Take heed that no man deceive you." Ephesians 5:6 says, "Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things comes the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience." In reviewing the headlines and news stories of the past few days, deceit is in the air. As a prophetic people living in a prophetic time, you must be able to recognize deceit otherwise you can and will be deceived. There are certain techniques to deceit: Lying outright; mixing a little truth with a lie to get a better lie; Using experts to propagate a lie; accusing others of what the accuser is doing; repeating the lie until it is believed. These are all occurring everyday in the news.

The news media is going crazy over a sitting president saying that their fake news is an enemy of the public. President Trump Monday tweeted, "There is great anger in our Country caused in part by inaccurate, and even fraudulent, reporting of the news. The Fake News Media, the true Enemy of the People, must stop the open & obvious hostility & report the news accurately & fairly. That will do much to put out the flame of Anger and Outrage and we will then be able to bring all sides together in Peace and Harmony. Fake News Must End!" Thus, the media stepped up its attacks on the president and conservatives who disagree with the liberal agenda. How did they do it? By bringing in "unbiased experts" to comment.
These so-called "experts," however, are committed liberals there to convince Americans that Trump and conservatives are the cause of all the violence in America. Examples: MSNBC: Leftist Washington Post columnist Dana Milbank said Trump was giving license to the perpetrators of mail bombs being sent to political figures and the synagogue shooting. Political analyst John Heileman said, "The president is obviously a racist . . . He obviously condones anti-Semitism, stokes up nationalist hatred." Joe Scarborough said, "I can't even call him president, this demagogue, this nationalist, he refused to even try to temper his crowds." CNN: Billionaire Democratic Party donor Tom Steyer said that Trump created the atmosphere of "routine, systematic lawlessness." GQ Magazine's Julia Ioffe said Trump had radicalized more people than ISIS. Did you even hear that 26 were shot and 5 killed last weekend in liberal- and gun-controlled Chicago? I didn't think so.
The major networks also repeatedly quoted and analyzed Democratic Party Leaders Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer saying Trump condones violence, and other liberals saying conservatives are radicals, extremists, deplorables, dregs and more--All this, repeated infinitum hour after hour to make people think they are obviously right. Breitbart's John Nolte has tracked leftist violence against conservatives since Trump took office in January 2016-over 620 incidents, 40 in October alone--including death threats, harassments, assaults, vandalism, the sending of a "ricin-like" substance to conservative officials, and the latest-four shots fired into the Volusia County, FL Republican Headquarters. There is little mainstream media coverage of these events. Who is inciting and perpetrating violence? Discernment is key for a prophetic people.

What Alexis de Tocqueville [1805-1859] called 'the habits of the heart', Os Guinness calls 'the golden triangle of freedom', with which he means the cultivation and transmission of the conviction that freedom requires virtue, which requires faith, which requires freedom, which in turn requires virtue, and so on, like the recycling triangle, ad infinitum.
Last week the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library featured Eric Metaxas, the distinguished Christian thinker and author who isn't afraid to speak his mind on both theology and key issues of the day. It was after becoming a Christian decades ago, it says on his website, that Metaxas made a key decision he says has invigorated and catapulted his career: that he would let God take control.
Reagan Library Executive Director John Heubusch interviewed Metaxas, asking him whether he was surprised that Donald J. Trump won the presidency.

Metaxas responded, "Yes and no. Everybody said to me, I mean everybody said to me, there's no way he's going to win; like it was almost laughable. For the rest of my life I will be totally nonplussed by people who seem to think there was some third option."

SPACECRAFT MAKES RECORD CLOSE-APPROACH TO THE SUN


NASA's Parker Solar Probe is now closer to the sun than any other spacecraft in history, shattering the previous record of 26.6 million miles set by the Helios 2 spacecraft in 1976. The probe is now well inside the orbit of Mercury.

"It's a proud moment for our team," says Project Manager Andy Driesman of the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory.

Count to 3. Parker just broke the record again. The spacecraft is accelerating sunward for the mission's first perihelion on Nov. 5th. At closest approach, the solar disk will seem 6 times wider than it does on Earth as the probe is hit by "brutal heat and radiation" (NASA's words). Parker's carbon-composite heat shield is expected to heat up to a sizzling 2000 deg. F.

Parker's prime mission is to investigate the origin of the solar wind--a project best done uncomfortably close to the star. Parker will trace the solar wind back to its source and find out how it escapes the sun's gravity and magnetic confinement.

Russell Howard of the Naval Research Laboratory expects to learn a lot from this encounter. "We might detect magnetic islands in the solar wind, which have been theoretically predicted. And if a CME (solar explosion) happens or a comet passes through the sun's atmosphere while we are so nearby, it could be spectacular."

Unemployed British Man Finds "Spectacular" 1,300-Year-Old Gold Bracelet
with Engraved Scripture


"The Kingdom of Heaven is like treasure hidden in a field. When a man found it, he hid it again, and then in his joy went and sold all he had and bought that field."

Terry Herbert, a 55-year-old unemployed former coffin worker, found a remarkable 1,300-year-old treasure in a field owned by a friend in Staffordshire, England using a metal detector he purchased for only three euros.

Discovered in July, Herbert filled 244 bags with some 1,500 pieces of the glimmering treasure that scholars say may shake up our understanding of Saxon Britain, according to a report by the Daily Mail.

Herbert had entered into a written contract with the landowner, Fred Johnson, agreeing to split any finds on his land.

The spectacular discovery includes early Christian crosses fashioned in gold, along with a gold bracelet with a Biblical inscription in Latin that reads: "Rise up, O Lord, and may Thy enemies be scattered and those who hate Thee be driven from thy face." (Numbers 10:35)
