Senate Confirms Judge Kavanaugh for Supreme
Court

Kavanaugh confirmed to Supreme Court after bitter fight,
securing rightward shift
The Senate voted Saturday to confirm Judge Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court, marking the end to one of the most rancorous confirmation fights in modern times and securing a rightward shift on the nation's highest court.
The chamber voted 50-48 to confirm Kavanaugh, mostly along party lines, after a weeklong FBI probe helped settle concerns among most wavering senators about the sexual assault allegations that nearly derailed his nomination and led to a dramatic second hearing. Saturday's roll call marked the tightest successful Supreme Court confirmation vote in over 100 years, closer than even that of Clarence Thomas who similarly faced sexual misconduct allegations.
Sen. Joe Manchin, D-W.Va., was the sole Democrat to vote "yes." Sen. Lisa Murkowski, R-Alaska, was a "no," but voted "present" as a courtesy to Sen. Steve Daines, R-Mont., who was attending his daughter's wedding in Montana.
Kavanaugh was scheduled to be sworn in as an associate justice of the court on Saturday night.
Democrats reacted to the vote by urging supporters to turn out to the polls in November for the midterms.
"The American people are raising their voices to a deafening roar today. We will not stop marching, we will not stop fighting, and we will vote on Election Day for leaders who share our values." Democratic National Committee Chair Tom Perez said in a statement.
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnnell, R-Ky., brushed off criticism from Democrats and said it was "a good day for America and an important day for the Senate."
"We stood up for the presumption of innocence, we refused to be intimidated by the mob of people coming after Republican members at their homes and hallways," he said.
"I applaud and congratulate the U.S. Senate for confirming our GREAT NOMINEE, Judge Brett Kavanaugh, to the United States Supreme Court," President Trump tweeted. "Later today, I will sign his Commission of Appointment, and he will be officially sworn in. Very exciting!" (Fox News) Read more.
Our Prayer
Father God, we thank You that this long, fourteen-week ordeal has now ended. We claim Romans 8:28 over a nation that is divided, that You will indeed bring good from this episode in our history.
Lord God, as Judge Kavanaugh receives his new title tonight as Justice Kavanaugh, we thank You for the new mantle of authority that will rest upon his shoulders as he enters the Supreme Court as its 114th Justice.
We thank You for Brett Kavanaugh, and we ask You to grace him with every equipping needful as he takes up this new role in service to You and to the United States of America, amen.
Our Decree: Isaiah 11:1 - 5
The Spirit of the Lord will rest on him-
the Spirit of wisdom and of understanding,
the Spirit of counsel and of might,
the Spirit of the knowledge and fear of the Lord-
3 and he will delight in the fear of the Lord.
He will not judge by what he sees with his eyes,
or decide by what he hears with his ears;
4 but with righteousness he will judge the needy,
with justice he will give decisions for the poor of the earth. . .
5 Righteousness will be his belt
and faithfulness the sash around his waist.

The Briefing 031 - THE SENATE VOTE
From Lou Engle
Published on Thursday, October 4, 2018
Letter from the Editor
Those who have followed the past several Briefings are aware that we have not had prophetic certainty regarding Justice Kavanaugh. Part of our dilemma was the clarity we have received regarding Amy Barrett. Yet, after weeks of wrestling, we believe that she may be God's choice for Justice Ginsburg's seat and Brett Kavanaugh may well be God's choice for Justice Kennedy's seat. Back in 2005, when we questioned Harriet Mier's nomination, we fasted and prayed and on the third day of our Esther fast she withdrew her nomination.
Over recent weeks, we have fasted and diligently sought God's will over Kavanaugh's nomination. The fact that he is still standing - in spite of a firestorm of allegations - may be our answer. Yet, as a prophetic resource, we have been hesitant to speak anything that we have not specifically heard from the Father. Meanwhile, we are thankful for those who have been led to pray for Justice Kavanaugh directly and we are thankful to those who, up until this point, have been seeking the Lord due to reservations over his appointment.
We believe that all of our prayers together have been a heart cry for mercy and reformation in America. Now, in these final hours leading up to the Senate vote, we hope this Briefing will strengthen your faith and sharpen your focus as we stand together in prayer on behalf of the Supreme Court. - Cheryl Amabile
The Briefing 031 - THE SENATE VOTE
"I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people -- for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness." (1 Timothy 2:1-2)
Within the next 48 hours, the U.S. Senate is expected to vote for or against Judge Kavanaugh's confirmation to the Supreme Court. Despite the widespread uproar of debate and supposition surrounding the matter, only 100 legislators (and the Vice President, if needed) have been endued with authority to render this decision. Yet, all of us who are in Christ have been given seats of authority in the heavenly realms - the hill above Capitol Hill - from which we are to rule and reign with Him in this hour. Let us not be negligent.
"For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places." (Eph 6:12)
Recently, while at Gettysburg, prophetic leader Sadhu Sundar Selvaraj received a visitation from the Lord in which he was given the following exhortation for the American Church:
"You must pray for your lawmakers so that angels can be stationed beside each one. The angels of God can influence them with wisdom from heaven. President Trump was put in office to clean and purify the nation of even the justices. He is bringing conservative ones - even to right all the wrongs done in this nation, the political crimes. It's important that the whole Christian community should pray very much for President Trump and pray for the legislators so that the right people are voted into office."
2) PRAY IN THE SPIRIT
We understand that as the Spirit prays through us, angels are moving at His voice.
In the same way the Spirit also helps our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we should, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words. (Romans 8:26)
Bless the LORD, you His angels, Mighty in strength, who perform His word, Obeying the voice of His word! (Psalm 103:20)
A few months ago, one of our team was overseas praying intently in the Spirit for several hours at a time. Meanwhile, a friend back in the States sent word that he had just dreamed of him praying in the Spirit. His friend saw in the dream that he was surrounded by a pit of vipers, but in response to his prayers, a mountain was raised up in their midst. The mountain was called Mt. Carmel! Then, as he continued to roar in tongues, the darkness began to part.
3) HAVING DONE ALL, STAND!
Lou Engle instructed our company, saying, "Sometimes it's not so much about praying just the right prayers as it is about our stand." It's time to set our faces and finish what God has been accomplishing to turn the nation back to righteousness. Let's exalt the victory of the cross of Christ and refuse, by faith, to allow any demonic scheme to potentially hinder the confirmation of a righteous judge.
Therefore, take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm. (Ephesians 6:13)
And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. (Matthew 16:18)

Election Issues: the #MeToo Movement
|
||||
Election Issues: Week Nine
The #MeToo Movement and Social Activism
PART ONE: THE ISSUE
The #MeToo Movement was started on 15 October 2017 by a radical leftist Hollywood actress named Alyssa Milano (who actually stole the "MeToo" name from a black social activist named Tarana Burke).
They claim as their goals the exposing of sexual assault and harassment against women, especially in the workplace. To date, #MeToo has brought down at least 425 powerful men from nearly all of America's top industries and political parties.
Meanwhile, their own "guilty before innocent" legal tactics have created a huge backlash among conservative women, including Senator Susan Collins, who hold to the actual "innocent until proven guilty" system of our law. (To read Senator Collins' momentous speech on the Senate floor, go here.)
When many conservative women around the country watched Christine Blasey Ford appear before the Senate Judiciary Committee last week, they didn't find her testimony compelling or convincing, as many liberals did.
They saw a political farce.
"Honestly, I don't think I have ever been so angry in all of my adult life," says Ginger Howard, a Republican national committeewoman from Georgia. "It brings me to the point of tears, it makes me so angry."
In a report filed in the Atlantic magazine, one reporter states: "Nearly all the women I spoke with are plugged into state- and local-level conservative politics. Their collective, overwhelming sense is that, like Howard, women voters are angry about what's happening to Kavanaugh. "I've got women in my church who were not politically active at all who were incensed with this," says Melody Potter, the chairwoman of the West Virginia Republican Party-the first woman to hold that position, she made sure to point out. In her state, the stakes of the Kavanaugh scandal are immense: Democratic Senator Joe Manchin is fighting for his seat in a place where more than two-thirds of voters supported Donald Trump in 2016. With voters "energized" to elect people "who are going to support President Trump," Potter says, West Virginians are closely watching how Manchin acts on Kavanaugh-especially now that the situation has become so politicized."
The worst nightmare of radical leftist #MeToo Movement Democrats comes true as tens-of-millions of women march to 2018 Midterm Election in support of Judge Kavanaugh and President Trump.
PART TWO: A PRAYER OF REPENTANCE
Father God, this is a vast and a complex issue, but it is not too difficult for You to resolve over time. We acknowledge and stand on Your Word that "judgment must first begin in the House of God," (I Peter 4:17) so we first turn our heart to You in repentance.
Father, we repent that we have not heard the cry of the hearts of these abused women, nor reached out to them with the healing balm of Gilead for their souls, which is the Blood of the Lamb. In response to our silence, these hurting souls have now reached out to adopt man's ways of solving anything, by politicizing the issue of sexual abuse and demanding justice in our courts to heal their pain.
Forgive us, Lord.
We repent, too, for the men in our nation who have violated Your law by sexually abusing women. Let each one "come clean" before You, end their own silence, and receive forgiveness and cleansing of their own sin.
And finally, Lord, we bring before Your Throne of Grace the many "wicked women" who have been trained to deliberately come alongside men of power and "bring them down" through means of seduction, thus destroying their careers. We ask You to forgive them, for they know now what they do. In Your Name, amen.
PART THREE: A PRAYER OF FORGIVENESS
Father God, for all who have been entangled in this web of iniquity: the abused and the abusers, we again as You to forgive each one, for they know not what they do. As we, too, offer forgiveness, we trust that the "veil" will be removed from their minds, and that each one be granted "eyes to see, ears to hear, and hearts to understand" the way to healing through the Cross of Christ. In Jesus' name, amen.
PART FOUR: A PRAYER OF THANKSGIVING
a. Lord God, we thank You for healing the pain of those who have been abused, when each one reaches out to You for help. And Father God, we thank You, too, for reaching out in Your love to the abusers, for they have been held captive by their own sin. We thank You that You have come to set the captives free, amen.
b. And Lord God, we thank You for having removed the shroud of darkness that has been hiding the pain of so many people for so long in our nation, and now the need for healing has been laid bare. Now that the hidden things are being revealed, we thank You for the promise of Your Word, that strategies will follow that will help all -- both men and women -- to recover. In Your Name, amen.
Scriptures: "By His stripes, we are healed." (Isaiah 53:5)
"Call unto Me and I will show you great and mighty things, that thou knowest not." (Jeremiah 33:3)
PART FOUR: A PRAYER FOR HEALING FOR OUR LAND
Thank You, Father, for the promise of Your Word:
"Nevertheless, I will bring to it health and healing, and I will heal its people and reveal to them the abundance of peace and truth." (Jeremiah 33:6)

PUT ON THE ARMOR AND PRAY
Do not think for a minute that this afternoon's vote is the end of this battle over the seat of justice, I expect that the warfare will be even more intense over the coming days and nights. We know this battle is not against flesh and blood whether it be the members of the congress or the protesters in the streets and elevators, but we are battling against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual [forces] of wickedness in the heavenly [places].
So take your stand on the firm foundation of Jesus Christ who has all authority in heaven and on earth so that you may testify to the truth, because everyone who is of the truth hears His voice.
So having girded your loins with that truth, and having put on the breastplate of His righteous which is a covering over the unrighteous of our thoughts and feelings, the core of where the enemy accuses us, and having shod our feet with the Good News of the Peace of Christ which is the Shalom of God, the destruction of every authority that builds or establishes chaos such as we are seeing even at this moment in the gallery of the Senate as the vote is going on.
Take up the Shield of Faith and hold it high round about you as it is able to extinguish ALL of the flaming arrows of the evil one.
Putting on the helmet of salvation we now cover our heads the place of the reception of most of our sensory inputs of hearing, seeing, smelling, and feeling which are processed by our mind filtered by the knowledge of our salvation.
So now take up the sword of the Spirit which is the word of God, and shouting Blessed be the LORD, my rock, Who trains my hands for war, [And] my fingers for battle; For this sword is sharper than any sword created by man and is able to cut off the strongest chains and bondage of the enemy, So Lord teach us to use this sword skillfully that we do not damage the tender hearted.
And now with all prayer and petition pray at all times in the Spirit, and with this in view, be on the alert with all perseverance and petition for all the saints (even those who do not yet know that they have been called to be saints of the living God, and [pray] on all our behalf, that utterance may be given to us in the opening of our mouths, to make known with boldness the mystery of the gospel.
Blessings to all of you who stand in the gap bringing Holy Spirit fired worship and prayer into the midst of the destruction of this world standing between those dead in their sins and those alive Christ and bringing the atoning blood of Jesus the Christ over the sins of the people.

Prayers and Presidents:
Our 35th President: John F. Kennedy
(1961-1963)
[Each week, we will publish one prayer that was spoken by each of our presidents, in chronological order. Today's prayer was written by our 35th President: John F. Kennedy .]
Editor's note:
It is with great sadness that we present to you one of the prayers given by President John F. Kennedy, before his assassination in Dallas, Texas on November 22, 1963. Despite our political opinions, we continue to ask healing for our nation and for his remaining family members from the trauma of that date. Thank you.
And so, my fellow Americans: ask not what your country can do for you--ask what you can do for your country.
My fellow citizens of the world: ask not what America will do for you, but what together we can do for the freedom of man.
Finally, whether you are citizens of America or citizens of the world, ask of us here the same high standards of strength and sacrifice which we ask of you. With a good conscience our only sure reward, with history the final judge of our deeds, let us go forth to lead the land we love, asking His blessing and His help, but knowing that here on earth God's work must truly be our own.
Inaugural Address of President John F. Kennedy
Washington, D.C.
