An Eye to Eye Week: A period of peace efforts, record hurricane and major disruption on multiple fronts

> > > Editor's note:

This article is so important, as we connect the dots between America's "peace" negotiations now taking place in the Middle East with recent weather patterns and perhaps the turmoil on the Stock Market.

As you track Bill Koenig's news with several items today in our Israel section, you will see a pattern emerging which demands our earnest, prayerful intervention.
Due to the severity of Bill Koenig's message, we are running this headline a second time this week (after Saturday's edition), encouraging each of you to GO HERE to read this news in its entirety.
Thank you for going to THIS LINK to read "Inside the White House."

Focus on Israel

1. Report: Iran Boosting Shipments of Advanced Weaponry to Hezbollah in Lebanon - Algemeiner

Iran has been increasing its shipments of advanced weaponry to its Lebanon-based Shi'a terror proxy Hezbollah, Fox News reported on Friday.

This weaponry includes - according to the report, which cited American and Western intelligence officials - GPS systems to turn unguided rockets into precision missiles.

The report detailed a journey earlier this week from Tehran to Beirut - via Damascus - of a Fars Air Qeshm Boeing 747 cargo plane.

2. IDF at Peak Readiness for Gaza Border Confrontation Today - Jewish Press

While disagreements persist within the political-security cabinet over the appropriate Israeli response to rocket and incendiary balloon launching from the Gaza Strip, a large contingency of IDF forces has been deployed along the Gaza border fence in preparation for the "March of Return" expected to take place Friday, as it has done since Passover. A cabinet meeting held this week decided to take a hard response to the recent increase in the volatility of the "protests" at the fence, with the new rules of engagement permitting the IDF to shoot at rioters from a longer distance than before. This should make for an exceptionally explosive Friday afternoon.

On Thursday, an Egyptian intelligence delegation visited the Gaza Strip in an attempt to prevent the escalation of the conflict and reduce the violent friction. But at the end of the meeting, a senior Hamas official insisted that the "March of Return" is on, with the aim of "breaking the siege on the Gaza Strip."

Good luck with that one.

The large IDF forces that have been deployed include many tanks, apparently positioned for the anticipated confrontations in an escalation scenario.

3. 10,000 Arabs take part in weekly Gaza riots - Israel National News

Some 10,000 Arabs took part in violent riots along the Gaza border fence on Friday, the IDF Spokesperson's Unit said.

Unlike previous weeks, most of the rioters remained in Gazan territory and did not try to reach the fence, said the statement, adding that Hamas acted toward restraint.

"There were still several incidents of explosive devices, grenades, crossover attempts and various terrorist attempts. IDF forces acted to thwart them."

"This is not a situation we are prepared to accept, it is expected that terrorism will stop," the IDF statement said.

4. Netanyahu vows to renegotiate deal with Jordan - Israel National News

Israel will push the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to reinstate an agreement between the two countries leasing two areas under Jordanian control to Israel, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu said Sunday.

Earlier on Sunday, Jordan's King Abdullah II announced that his country would be terminating the lease of land in the Arava in southern Jordan and the Island of Peace in Naharayim.

As part of the 1994 Israel-Jordan peace deal reached by then-Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin and Abdullah's father, King Hussein, Jordan leased the land to Israel for a renewable 25-year period.

Jordan retained the right, under the agreement, to nix the lease after 25 years, but is required to give Israel a one-year notification.

5. Israel fears Trump will recognize Jerusalem as Palestinian capital - World Israel News

Israel fears that U.S. President Donald Trump's peace plan will include a declaration that Jerusalem is the capital of two states - Israel and Palestine - as a concession to the Palestinians in order to get them back to the negotiation table, Ynet reported Sunday.

The Palestinian Authority has rejected the Americans as mediators in the Mideast peace process since December, when Trump announced official U.S. recognition of Jerusalem as Israel's capital. If the Republicans are weakened in the midterm elections next month, the report notes, the White house might ramp up pressure for a deal in the hopes of having an achievement to show voters ahead of the 2020 presidential elections.

Should this happen, the report continues, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will likely ask the Americans to hold off on the dramatic announcement until after the elections in Israel out of fear that these complications could hinder his reelection chances as well. Israel's elections are slated for November 2019, and there is talk of holding them sooner.

(7) US Palestinian Consulate - The US Administration announced this week that it was bringing its consular services to the Palestinians under the direct oversight of its Israeli Embassy. Like many nations, the US had established a Consulate for the Palestinians which gave them a direct connection to the State Department, as if they were an independent nation.

Prayers - Thank You for the wisdom and boldness of President Trump and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo which prompted them to take this decision. (Psalm 122:6,9)

- Let other nations take similar decisions.

- Hedge in the opposition to this move.

9. Trump's Envoy Says US Peace Plan will Unite Gaza and Judea and Samaria - BFP

Wednesday, 17 October 2018 | The White House's peace plan entails intentions to unify the West Bank [Judea and Samaria] and the Gaza Strip, Jason Greenblatt, US president Donald Trump's special envoy to the Middle East, told Ynet on Tuesday.

Palestinian media outlets claim that a key element of the yet-unreleased US peace plan is separating the Hamas-ruled Gaza Strip from the Fatah-ruled Palestinian Authority in the West Bank.

Though uncertainty prevails in the Middle East, senior White House officials have recently said that the unveiling of the American peace plan is approaching. US officials have noted in recent weeks that "the peace plan will not require Israeli security concessions, but Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will have to demonstrate leadership and make difficult decisions." (Read more)

- Pray that Israeli leaders will proceed with extreme caution as they determine the viability of the American-proposed peace plan, or any other peace plan that may be proposed in the future.

- LORD, You will establish peace for us, for You have also done all our works in us. O LORD our God, masters besides You have had dominion over us but by You only we make mention of Your name. (Isaiah 26:12-13)

The Daily Brief

1. Judge: State Department lied to cover for Hillary - WND

A federal judge scolded the State Department for providing false statements in an effort to prevent documents related to Hillary Clinton's mishandling of classified information through a private email server from being released. U.S. District Court Judge Royce C. Lamberth had ordered the hearing Friday regarding a request from Judicial Watch for testimony under oath from Clinton, longtime aide Cheryl Mills and several other State Department officials. "The information that I was provided was clearly false regarding the adequacy of the [Clinton email] search and . . . what we now know turned out to be the Secretary's email system," the judge said.

Lamberth also said he was "dumbfounded" by the Justice Department Inspector General report revealing that Mills had been given immunity and was allowed to accompany former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to her FBI interview. "I had myself found that Cheryl Mills had committed perjury and lied under oath in a published opinion I had issued in a Judicial Watch case," the judge said. He recalled that he found Mills "unworthy of belief, and I was quite shocked to find out she had been given immunity in - by the Justice Department in the Hillary Clinton email case. So I did not know that until I read the IG report and learned that and that she had accompanied the Secretary to her interview," Lamberth said.

During the hearing, the judge also told a Justice Department attorney representing the State Department he was using "doublespeak" and playing 'word games" in his insistence that the State Department didn't lie. Lamberth said during the hearing that he was relieved that he did not agree to the State Department's request to shut down the case.

Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton suggested President Trump "should ask why his State Department is still refusing to answer basic questions about the Clinton email scandal. Hillary Clinton's and the State Department's email cover up abused the FOIA, the courts and the American people's right to know," he said. (Read more)

- Father God, we offer You all the praise and all the honor and all the GLORY for this report. Truly, Abba Father God, You HAVE heard our cries that evil be exposed, and justice rendered where needed. We ask that Your hand of protection would rest now upon Judge Lamberth, his family and his staff, as he seeks to bring this matter to a close. Thank You, too, O God, for your timing in all things, in Your name, amen and amen.

- "So do not be afraid of them, for there is nothing concealed that will not be disclosed, or hidden that will not be made known." (Matthew 10:26)

2. 20 Key Races that Will Determine Which Party Controls the House of Representatives - Breitbart

Twenty key races are expected to determine which party controls the House of Representatives after voters go to the polls on November 6. The generic ballot advantage of Democrats in Congressional races in the midterm elections holds steady at around 7.6 percent, which is slightly above the five percent generic ballot advantage most political experts believe Democrats have needed to win a majority in the House.

The 20 key remaining competitive races are now classified by Breitbart News as Election Day toss-ups. Nineteen of those seats are currently held by a Republican. Only one is currently held by a Democrat. As things stand 18 days before the election, 209 seats are likely Democrat, while 206 are likely Republican. In order to maintain a majority in the House of Representatives, Republicans must win 12 of these 20 key races that are the remaining toss-ups.

The Breitbart News best guess estimate 18 days before the election is that there are a range of outcomes in which either party ends up with a majority in the House. In the best outcome for the Republicans, they win 14 of these remaining 20 toss-up races, and emerge with a narrow five vote margin over the Democrats when the 116th Congress convenes in January, 220 Republicans to 215 Democrats. In the best outcome for the Democrats, they run the table in these 20 "toss-up" races and end up with a 23 vote majority in the 116th Congress, 229 Democrats to 206 Republicans. (Read more)

- Almighty God, we bow before You in prayer thanking You that You will hold in Your hands all 20 key competitive races in the upcoming election. The determination of which party controls the House of Representatives is solely Yours, dear God. We want to be found faithful to pray continuously. We bind all works of the ungodly with the Blood of Jesus, and raise the glory flag of God in victory over all 20 key races. We pray in the Name of Jesus, amen.

- "God has given a banner to them that fear You, that it may be displayed because of the truth. That Your beloved may be delivered; save with Your right hand and hear me." (Psalm 60:4-5)

3. Trump calls Saudi explanation for journalist's death credible, arrests 'good first step' - The Hill

President Trump on Friday night called Saudi Arabia's explanation for the death of dissident journalist Jamal Khashoggi credible and said that the arrests of more than a dozen Saudi nationals were "a good first step." Trump added that "Saudi Arabia has been a great ally, but what happened is unacceptable."

The president told gathered defense contractors that he does not want to cancel or suspend billions of dollars in Saudi arms purchases as a punishment on the country, but would instead prefer "some form of sanction." Trump also claimed that those arms deals were critical to more than 1 million U.S. jobs.

The Saudi government claimed in a statement that after he entered its consulate Khashoggi was involved in a physical altercation that led to his death. Saudi Arabia's statement Friday was the first time it had acknowledged that Khashoggi died after he entered its consulate in Istanbul on Oct. 2. Eighteen Saudi nationals have been arrested and are being questioned in connection with the case, the kingdom said Friday in its statement reported by state-controlled media outlets. (Read more)

- Almighty God, we pray that You put the guilty in line for punishment of the evil killing of this journalist. Cast down all lies made by the Saudi government and enforce the truth to be revealed. Guide President Trump by Your wisdom to make sound judgment against Saudi Arabia. We pray in the Name of Jesus.

- "Thus says the Lord, Execute judgement and righteousness, and deliver the spoiled out of the hand of the oppressor; and do no wrong; do no violence to the stranger, the fatherless, nor the widow, neither shed innocent blood in this place." (Jeremiah 22:3)

4. US poised to pull out of nuclear arms treaty with Moscow: source - Fox News

An administration official confirmed on Friday that during his meetings next week with Russian officials, National Security Adviser John Bolton will inform Russia that the U.S. intends to pull out of the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Treaty, also known as the INF.

"Across two administrations, the United States and our allies have attempted to bring Russia back into full and verifiable compliance with INF," said the source, who spoke on the condition of anonymity. "Despite our objections, Russia continues to produce and field prohibited cruise missiles and has ignored calls for transparency."

Earlier this month, Defense Secretary Jim Mattis said Russia's deployment of nuclear-capable missiles in violation of an arms treaty was "untenable," and that without changes by Moscow, the U.S. would have to match that military capability. Speaking to reporters at the close of a NATO defense ministers' meeting in Brussels, he said the U.S. was reviewing its diplomatic and military options because of Russia's continued breaches of the 1987 treaty. (Read more)

- Father in heaven, we pray that You let it be known to Putin that not honoring the 1987 arms treaty by deployment of nuclear-capable missiles will hold him responsible for major clashes between the United States and Russia. We ask that You guide President Trump to hear Your direction and act accordingly. We pray in Jesus' Name.

- "I have overthrown some of you, as God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah, and you were as a firebrand plucked out of the burning: yet have you not returned unto Me, says the Lord." (Amos 4:11)

5. Trump: Democratic obstruction on immigration policy causes 'needless pain and suffering' - Washington Examiner

President Trump said Saturday that if Democrats would work with Republicans to get new immigration laws passed, it would get through in less than an hour. "If the Democrats would stop being obstructionists and come together, we could write up and agree to new immigration laws in less than one hour," Trump posted to Twitter Saturday. "Look at the needless pain and suffering that they are causing. Look at the horrors taking place on the Border. Chuck & Nancy, call me!"

Immigration and border security is one of the policy issues Trump is most vocal about, and something he thinks will be hijacked by the Democrats if they take back a majority in Congress after the midterm elections. Trump called on Democratic Sen. Chuck Schumer, N.Y., and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, Calif., to call him up to work out new immigration policy. (Read more)

- Almighty God, we come into Your presence and lay at Your feet this tremendously evil, demonic hatred that the Democrats and the secret government are continuously fueling. By the power of the Blood of Jesus, we pray you cover, denounce and annihilate this hatred. We pray in the Name of Jesus, amen.

- "The godly will see these things and be glad, while the wicked are struck silent." (Psalm 107:42)

6. Eric Holder Rallies Resistance Inside Trump Admin: 'We Support You' - Breitbart

Former Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. sent a message of encouragement to discontented Justice Department "career employees" on Friday morning. "Trump and Sessions are trying to destroy the traditions of the Justice Department," Holder wrote. "Hope is found in the career employees who stand for institutional norms. Now is the time for them to continue to be strong - change will come. We support you." Holder recently made news by pressing for the impeachment of President Trump under the 25th amendment.

"We know of no department employee who is opposed to policies that uphold the rule of law and protect the American people," Department spokeperson Sarah Isgur Flores said in a statement, "which are precisely the policies that this department has implemented and embraced." Flores further maintained that Sessions' work was "vital" to the fights against violent crime, opioid abuse, and border security.

The anonymous resistance within the Justice Department may have Holder's blessing, but as the oft-purported "blue wave" seems to be receding into more of a puddle, grandstanding from a distant presidential hopeful may not be enough. (Read more)

- Father God, we pray for Eric Holder and all the emissaries who fight against President Trump. Change their thought patterns and close them off from believing lies. Strengthen our president in his inner man and may he feel the divine presence of the Lord every minute of his days and nights. We pray in Jesus' Name, amen.

- "Happy is he that has the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in the Lord his God." (Psalm 146:5)

7. California Republicans Cheer Donald Trump's Water Memo - Breitbart

President Donald Trump signed a new memorandum Friday to provide more water to California's farmers, lifting spirits in the Central Valley - and potentially lifting the fortunes of embattled Republican congressmen. Republicans have long argued that too much water has been diverted from farming and from household use to environmental priorities, thanks to lawsuits by environmental groups, and to unfriendly state and federal agencies.

The memorandum directs the Secretary of the Interior and the Secretary of Commerce to develop a streamlined process to ensure "environmental compliance requirements shall be completed as expeditiously as possible, and in accordance with applicable law." It also calls on the agencies to "develop a proposed plan . . . to appropriately suspend, revise, or rescind any regulations or procedures that unduly burden" water infrastructure projects."

The President's announcement is an immense relief for the farmers and families of the San Joaquin Valley and communities across California. Trump's memo may provide a much-needed reprieve - both agricultural, and political. (Read more)

- Lord God, we are so thankful that You guided President Trump to sign this tremendously important memorandum providing sufficient water to the farmers and families of the San Joaquin Valley. Bless these people, Lord. In the Name of Jesus.

- "Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of His might." (Ephesians 6:10)

8. The Supreme Court will hear a case that could decide whether Facebook, Twitter can censor users - CNBC

The Supreme Court has agreed to hear a case that could determine whether users can challenge social media companies on free speech grounds. The case, Manhattan Community Access Corp. v. Halleck, No. 17-702. The case could have broader implications for social media and other media outlets. In particular, a broad ruling from the high court could open the country's largest technology companies up to First Amendment lawsuits.

That could shape the ability of companies like Facebook, Twitter and Alphabet's Google to control the content on their platforms as lawmakers clamor for more regulation and activists on the left and right spar over issues related to censorship and harassment. The Supreme Court accepted the case on Friday. It is the first case taken by a reconstituted high court after Justice Brett Kavanaugh's confirmation earlier this month.

The major social media companies, which either did not respond or declined to comment to CNBC, have said they do not censor speech based on political ideology. "We do not shadow ban according to political ideology or viewpoint or content. Period," Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey said. For its part, Google released a statement saying that its search feature "is not used to set a political agenda and we don't bias our results toward any political ideology." (Read more)

- Mighty God, we depend upon You to render justice in this matter. No matter what the official statements are from the heads of Twitter and of Google, the facts tell the truth. Each network now actively deletes conservative news sources from their messaging. Lord, You are the great I AM. We ask You to guide the Supreme Court as they rule in this critical matter of the freedom of speech in our nation. We ask in Jesus' Name.

- "Be exalted, O God, above the heavens: let Your glory be above all the earth." (Psalm 57:11)

9. Corrupt Big Tech Has Gone All-In To Defeat GOP In Midterms, Hoping To Forestall Anti-Trust Action - Tsarizm

With all the recent evidence of complete, biased censorship by Facebook, Google, Twitter, etc, coming out in the news, it seems big tech is not even trying to hide it anymore. The goal of course of all this overt, political corruption is to prevent the GOP from maintaining the House of Representatives.

This is why Facebook is deleting hundreds of conservative pages after the entities behind the accounts had paid Facebook hundreds of thousands of dollars, if not more. This is why Twitter will ban conservatives but won't ban Louis Farrakhan after calling Jews termites. This is why Google is obviously slanting search results to prevent people finding conservative views on the internet.

They are throwing in the kitchen sink of censorship as we approach Election Day to do everything they can to prevent Republicans from maintaining control of both houses of Congress. This is why this election is so important. The corrupt media, big tech, the ANTIFA brownshirts, the Soros cabal, will have all shot their wad at winning the midterms. If they lose, then maybe we have a shot at getting American all the way back. If not, then we sure are in a world of hurt. (Read more)

- Almighty God, we entreat You to step into the middle of this technical war with Facebook, Google and Twitter and bind all the forces of evil and corruption with the eternal powerful Blood of Jesus. Cut off their wicked lifelines by standing in the path to destroy their evil control. We trust in the Name of Jesus.

- "The world cannot hate you; but Jesus it hates, because He testifies of them, that the works thereof are evil." (John 7:7)

10. Facebook Sells Disabled Iraq Vet $300,000 In Ads, Then Deletes His Influential Pages - ZeroHedge

Facebook banned several pages operated by disabled by Air Force veteran Brian Kolfage, after he says he spent $300,000 on advertising. The social media giant removed without warning Kolfage's Right Wing News and Military Grade Coffee Company (which donates 10% of all profits to veteran organizations), in a site-wide effort to crack down on "misinformation" on the network.

Right Wing News alone had over 3 million followers at the time of its banning. According to his new website, Kolfage, a triple amputee, explains, "I'm not a "conservative." I'm not a "liberal." I'm an American, with deep beliefs in what our country stands for. I proved this by vowing to protect and fighting for Americas greatest tenet: free speech."

Many Americans have fought for these political freedoms . . . freedom of speech . . . and every American has enjoyed those freedoms . . . UNTIL TODAY. On October 11, 2018, Facebook shut down thousands of Facebook accounts for their political opinions, saying in effect that they don't have a "legitimate political argument." STOP SOCIAL MEDIA CENSORSHIP NOW! -Fight4freespeech.com Kolfage says his "income as a father and husband is threatened," and that he "invested over $300,000 in ads at Facebook's own request," according to Breitbart's Lucas Nolan. In a Facebook post on his personal page, Kolfage wrote "Facebook lied, they shut down my page because it was conservative, powerful, and the elections are in 2 weeks. (Read more)

- Righteous Father in heaven, we ask that You will send warring angels from heaven to come down and wage war with all the atrocities that Facebook has caused one of America's greatest voices for political freedom. Defeat and dismantle Facebook and weaken their position in this matter. We pray in the Name of Jesus.

- "Behold, I, Jesus, stand at the door, and knock; if any man hear My voice, and open the door, I will come into him, and will dine with him, and he with Me." (Revelation 3:20)

The Left's hidden tribes and soft tyranny

More in Common, a globalist leftist organization aiming to "deploy positive narratives that tell a new story of 'us,' celebrating what we all have in common" has released a report titled "Hidden Tribes: A study of America's Polarized Landscape." More in Common seems to be an institutional validator of one of the left's new buzz words, "Tribalism." The report identifies seven "Tribes" in America whose core beliefs create political division leading to tensions that are "poisoning personal relationships, consuming our politics and putting our democracy in peril." Ultimately, the report implies that this leads to people feeling they cannot express their opinions without being demeaned or labeled-essentially a form of soft tyranny.

The report divides Americans into seven tribes: Progressives, Traditional Liberals, Passive Liberals, Politically Disengaged, Moderates, Traditional Conservatives, and Devoted Conservatives. It identifies only Progressives (8%) as the left wing. Traditional Conservatives (19%) and Devoted Conservatives (6%) make up the right wing. The others are what the report calls the "Exhausted Majority (67%)." It points out that "America's differences have become dangerously tribal, fueled by a culture of outrage and taking offense. For the combatants, the other side can no longer be tolerated, and no price is too high to defeat them." The report's bias implies the larger group of Traditional and Devoted Conservatives (25%) as acting against the Progressives (8%), when in reality the Progressives are the ones inciting violence, resistance and revolution.

Alexis de Tocqueville defined soft tyranny in his 1840 book Democracy in America, Volume II as "It [the government] covers the surface of society with a network of small, complicated rules, minute and uniform, through which the most original minds and the most energetic characters cannot penetrate, to rise above the crowd. The will of man is not shattered, but softened, bent, and guided; men are seldom forced by it to act, but they are constantly restrained from acting. Such a power does not destroy, but it prevents existence: it does not tyrannize, but it compresses, enervates, extinguishes, and stupefies a people, till each is reduced to nothing better than a flock of timid and industrious animals, of which the government is the shepherd." Tocqueville's defines soft tyranny by government, but Tribalism is an extension.

Progressives, liberals, and moderates in government, aided by the media and communist influencers, have created an environment of soft tyranny in America-where folks won't speak up due to concerns of being labeled, harassed, losing their job, or worse. Galatians 5:1 says, "Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ has made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage." Bondage is bondage, whether it is sin or tyranny. We live in a society where a very vocal minority is bullying those who disagree with them. Isaiah 5:20 says, "Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness..." This "Hidden Tribalism" is just another attempt to justify evil deeds based on the threat of what others believe. The result is this silence of soft tyranny. Stand against it.

Have a Blessed and Powerful Day!

Election Caravan Swells Bigtime

Election Caravan Swells to 5,000

2,000 from Guatemala, joined by 3,000 in Mexico

How will this end?

With Mexico unable to stop a caravan headed to the U.S. from Guatemala, the group is burgeoning in size. The original 2,000 Central Americans either swam or rafted across a river separating Guatemala and Mexico Saturday, with estimates of 3,000 more joining them as they head to the U.S. in time for next month's election. Sunday the group paused at the Mexican town of Tapachula, occupying a mile-long column about 10 abreast.

It is unknown from where the additional 3,000 came - Guatemala or Mexico. There are still another 1,500 migrants on the Guatemalan side hoping to enter legally. They marched on through Mexico like a rag tag army of the poor, shouting triumphantly slogans like "Si se pudo!" or "Yes, we could!" As they passed through Mexican villages on the outskirts of Ciudad Hidalgo, they drew applause, cheers and donations of food and clothing from Mexicans.
The migrants, who said they gave up trying to enter Mexico legally because the asylum application process was too slow, gathered Saturday at a park in the border city of Ciudad Hidalgo. They voted by a show of hands to continue north en masse, then marched to the bridge crossing the Suchiate River and urged those still on it to come join them.
The decision to re-form the migrant caravan capped a day in which Mexican authorities again refused mass entry to migrants on the bridge, instead accepting small groups for asylum processing and giving out 45-day visitor permits to some. Authorities handed out numbers for people to be processed in a strategy seen before at U.S. border posts when dealing with large numbers of migrants.
But many became impatient and circumventing the border gate, crossing the river on rafts, by swimming or by wading in full view of the hundreds of Mexican police manning the blockade on the bridge. Some paid locals the equivalent of $1.25 to ferry them across the muddy waters. They were not detained on reaching the Mexican bank.
President Trump last week warned Mexico that "we're calling up the military - not the Guard" if the government cannot stop the caravan from reaching the border. "They're not coming into this country," he said. (WorldNetDaily) Read more

- Lord God, we continue to repent that our Congress has not yet released the funds needed to build the wall at the southern border. We stand behind our President, who has now sworn to call in the military, if needed, to defend that border and to keep out this growing "tsunami" of migrants who are trying to enter our nation illegally. We thank You that the United States of America is a sovereign nation, under You, with the rights to defend our borders. We thank You, Holy One, for hearing our prayer, in Your name, amen.

- "When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against him." (Isaiah 59:19)

> > > Please note: We are printing, below, excerpts from our Legislative Snapshot, dated Saturday, September 29, whose Election Issue was the Wall at the Border. Thank you for continuing to lift up this issue in prayer . . . another strategy by the enemy to sway the vote in the wrong direction.

What does Scripture Teach Us about this Topic?

We are to be "given to hospitality." (Romans 12:13). One author claims that "hospitable" (Titus 1:8) actually means a "lover of strangers." And we are told not to forget to entertain strangers; they may be angels. (Hebrews 13:2).

But do we then simply open all borders? Some who would follow a social gospel would say "yes." However, the Lord places us in nations. He has determined our preappointed times and the boundaries of our dwellings. (Acts 17:26).

And we are to be subject to the governing authorities who are appointed by God. (Romans 13: 1). As Christians we are called to do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith. (Galatians 6:10)

Immigration laws and borders thus are needed to maintain order. To seek open borders is a concept birthed from the spirit of rebellion.

May we repent for not seeking His Wisdom on immigration to be implemented by His authorities in this nation.

A Prayer of REPENTANCE

Father God,

We repent for our tendency to substitute a "social gospel" (caring for all . . . no matter what) for the TRUE GOSPEL of our Lord Jesus Christ: that we are called to preach Your love and forgiveness to all who would hear this Good News.

We repent that we have let down the borders of our own cities by embracing the rule of "sanctuary cities" in our midst. Forgive us, O Lord, for our confusion, and teach us Your ways. In Your name we pray, amen.

A Prayer of FORGIVENESS

Father,

We recognize that many of our problems with the issue of immigration stems from an agenda set in place by operatives both outside our nation and within, who wish to destroy us by implementing policies that are detrimental to our national well being. We ask You to please forgive these men and women, according to Luke 23:34, for they know not what they do.

We also ask You to forgive the immigrants who have crossed our borders illegally, and with an intent to harm us. As You forgave the thief on the Cross, would You please extend Your mercy to each one, humble them, and cause them to know You as our Savior and our Lord, amen.

News to Note from Russia

Russia transfers upgraded S-300 missile batteries to Syria

Moscow has transferred three advanced S-300PM anti-aircraft batteries to the Syrian regime, Russian news outlet Izvestia reported on Friday. The S-300PM is more sophisticated than the S-300 system transferred to Syria earlier this month and was delivered together with mobile radar stations, the report said.

The Russian Defense Ministry downplayed concerns that the Iranians would use the advanced systems, claiming they lack the technical expertise to operate a system such as the S-300PM. According to the ministry, only the Russian military has experts with the know-how to operate the sophisticated system and they intend to strictly compartmentalize the transfer of technical knowledge to the Syrians. Russian charged with conspiring to interfere in U.S. congressional elections

The U.S. government on Friday charged a Russian national with playing a key financial role in a Kremlin-backed plan to conduct "information warfare" against the United States, including ongoing attempts to influence next month's congressional elections.

Elena Alekseevna Khusyaynova, 44, became the first person charged with a crime for attempting to interfere in the 2018 U.S. midterm elections, according to a government official with knowledge of the investigation.

Khusyaynova was the chief accountant for Project Lakhta, an operation started in 2014 and financed by a Russian oligarch close to Russian President Vladimir Putin and two companies he controls, according to a criminal complaint.

The oligarch, Evgeny Viktorovich Prigozhin, and his two companies were indicted in February in Special Counsel Robert Mueller's separate investigation of alleged Russian meddling in the 2016 U.S. presidential election to boost eventual winner Donald Trump over his Democratic opponent, Hillary Clinton.

The complaint detailed new examples of Russians using fake personas on social media to stoke divisions over race, gun rights, voter fraud and other contentious issues. Some messages targeted next month's elections, indicating the operation has not been deterred by Mueller's indictments earlier this year.

"This one shows that the threat from Russia is not over," said Barbara McQuade, a former U.S. Attorney in Michigan. "This is a true propaganda war." (Reuters) Read more

Classic Hymns

ALL HAIL THE POWER OF JESUS' NAME

"For this reason also, God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and that every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father." (Philippians 2:9-11)

Lyrics

All hail the power of Jesus' Name! Let angels prostrate fall; Bring forth the royal diadem, and crown Him Lord of all. Bring forth the royal diadem, and crown Him Lord of all.

Let highborn seraphs tune the lyre, and as they tune it, fall Before His face Who tunes their choir, and crown Him Lord of all. Before His face Who tunes their choir, and crown Him Lord of all.

Crown Him, ye morning stars of light, who fixed this floating ball; Now hail the strength of Israel's might, and crown Him Lord of all. Now hail the strength of Israel's might, and crown Him Lord of all.

Crown Him, ye martyrs of your God, who from His altar call; Extol the Stem of Jesse's Rod, and crown Him Lord of all. Extol the Stem of Jesse's Rod, and crown Him Lord of all.

Ye seed of Israel's chosen race, ye ransomed from the fall, Hail Him Who saves you by His grace, and crown Him Lord of all. Hail Him Who saves you by His grace, and crown Him Lord of all.

Hail Him, ye heirs of David's line, whom David Lord did call, The God incarnate, Man divine, and crown Him Lord of all, The God incarnate, Man divine, and crown Him Lord of all.

Sinners, whose love can never forget the wormwood and the gall, Go spread your trophies at His feet, and crown Him Lord of all. Go spread your trophies at His feet, and crown Him Lord of all.

Let every tribe and every tongue before Him prostrate fall And shout in universal song the crowned Lord of all. And shout in universal song the crowned Lord of all.

Insects invading Virginia and Pennsylvania could be 'most destructive species in 150 years'

An invasive insect species native to China, India and Vietnam is posing a problem in at least two states.

The spotted lanternfly is harming crops in Winchester, Virginia, WDVM reported. The Pennsylvania-based Churchville Nature Center said the creatures were also spotted for the first time on its property Thursday.

"We are sad to report that we have had our first sighting of the spotted lanternfly on our property today," the center announced on Facebook. "If it is new to you, this invasive plant hopper is threatening the forests of the northeast as well as the lumber and agricultural industries. Please keep an eye out for the insect."

The species poses a threat to agriculture and "has the ability to greatly impact the grape, hops and logging industries," the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture warned.

"The insect causes damage to plants because of its method of feeding, the rapid buildup of large populations and the production of honeydew, a by-product of their feeding activity that serves as a medium for fungal growth. [Spotted lanternfly] can also be a nuisance pest to homeowners when found in large numbers," the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services said in a statement when the species was first detected in the state in February. "It was Like a Joseph Situation": Pastor Andrew Brunson Says His Imprisonment was Part of God's Prep for a Harvest of Souls in Turkey

(Washington, DC)-[CBN News] Pastor Andrew Brunson spent two years as a prisoner of Turkey. As the Trump administration fought hard for his release, Christians around the world prayed for his safety.

Those prayers were answered one week ago, when Pastor Brunson walked free from a Turkish courtroom and into the Oval Office with President Trump the very next day.

"It was like a Joseph situation," Brunson told CBN's Gordon Robertson on the 700 Club Friday. Like Joseph in the Bible went from prison to standing before the Pharaoh of Egypt, he went from standing before judges who could have put him in jail for decades to suddenly standing before the President of the United States the next day.

Brunson also recalled that, a year earlier, Turkish President Erdogan was sitting next to Trump in the Oval Office and Trump was asking him to release Brunson. Now he ended up in that same seat sitting next to Trump, too.

"God was using this situation. So many people who never thought to pray for Turkey before were now praying for Turkey," Andrew told CBN.

About Capitol Hill Prayer Partners

Our Mission Statement

Capitol Hill Prayer Partners (CHPP) is a ministry which is positioned on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., helping members of the Body of Christ to "pray for those in authority over us" in our federal government. Our primary purpose is to offer intercession on site for the members of Congress and their staffs each day that the Senate and the House of Representatives are in session; and our chief prayer focus is that "God's will be done in earth, as it is in heaven." [Matthew 6:10].

Because Jesus Christ has shed His blood for all, we, too, pray for ALL, in a nonpartisan manner. Also, because the scriptures indicate that "the effectual, fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much" (James 4:17), we are confident that fervent prayer, offered in the halls of the highest chambers of government in our land, can avail much for America. Capitol Hill Prayer Partners welcomes those who feel called to join us, engaging in this strategic work of intercession for our nation: "For there is no power but of God; the powers that be are ordained of God." [Romans 13:1]
