President Trump Reacts to Shootings

Trump Speaks After Mass Shootings in El Paso, Dayton:
'Hate Has No Place in Our Country'

ALSO: Statements made by Texas Governor Gregg Abbot after the shooting in El Paso

President Donald Trump made his first public appearance following the mass shootings in El Paso and Dayton that left 29 people dead, mainly praising the response of law enforcement.

"Nobody could have done what they've done," Trump said on the law enforcement response. "This could have been-as bad as it was, it could have been so much worse. I just have to thank them. The job they've done is incredible. They were right on the ball in El Paso. They were there so quickly. And in Dayton, in less than a minute. Think of the damage he did in such a short period of time. In less than a minute, the law enforcement acted and killed him. And it would have been unbelievable. It was-would have been-it was horrible, but it would have been so much worse."

"Hate has no place in our country. And we're going to take care of it. I spoke with Attorney General Bill Barr at length. I spoke to Christopher Wray, director of the FBI. Spoke to the governors, both governors. And we're doing a lot of work. A lot of people are working right now," the president continued, pledging to make an official statement on 10 a.m. Monday.
Trump only took one question, where he was asked about potential concrete solutions.

"We're talking to a lot of people and a lot of things are in the works and a lot of good things. And we've done much more than most administrations," he said.

"But this is also a mental illness problem if you look at both of those cases. This is mental illness. These are really people that are very, very seriously mentally ill. So a lot of things are happening," Trump continued.

- Father God, our President is now facing some of the most dangerous situations the American people have ever faced. We thank You that this President is taking this matter very seriously, and that changes in policy for our national security are now being developed.

Lord God Almighty, if a President ever needed Your wisdom to combat these threats, that time is now. We ask that Your Hand of divine protection would once again rest upon President Trump, the First Lady and Baron, even as he seeks You for divine strategies to overcome the evil one in our nation. In Your Name, amen

- And He said, "My presence shall go with you, and I will give you rest."
(Exodus 33:14)

Focus on Israel

1. Islamic Jihad presents: New rockets, increased range - Israel National News

Gaza's Iranian-funded Islamic Jihad terror organization has published a video documenting the development of rocket launchers which can fire rockets capable of reaching central and northern Israel.

On January 21, 2007, the group's Al-Quds Brigade announced that it was capable of launching rockets from the roofs of vehicles, via rocket launchers it had developed.

In 2011, Islamic Jihad used Grad rockets for the first time, a year later improving both their strength and distance capabilities. They also upgraded the rockets fired at Gaza border towns to include C8K rockets, and began using the in-ground rocket launchers which were used to fire rockets at Be'er Sheva.

In 2014, Islamic Jihad developed 107 rockets placed on rocket launchers hidden in the ground, and began using rocket launchers capable of firing 20 rockets at once from vehicles, as well as in-ground rocket launchers for the Burak rockets which were fired for the first time at the northern city of Netanya.

2. PA committee on agreements with Israel holds first meeting - Israel National News

Headed by Palestinian Authority (PA) chairman Mahmoud Abbas, the committee charged with stopping work on the agreements signed with Israel on Saturday held its first meeting in Ramallah in order to find out the mechanisms to do so, the Wafa news agency reports.

The committee is scheduled to provide its recommendations and proposals regarding the matter to the Palestinian leadership soon.

Abbas in late July declared an end to the signed agreements with Israel, following Israel's demolition of 10 illegal Palestinian Arab buildings in the Sur Baher neighborhood in eastern Jerusalem.

3. Jordan shuts holy site after Israelis visit, says they prayed without permission - Times Of Israel

Jordan on Thursday closed Aaron's Tomb to visitors without express permission to visit, after it said a group of Israeli pilgrims prayed at the holy site illegally. According to Jordanian reports cited by Hebrew-language media, Waqf Minister Abdul Nasser Musa Abu al-Basal, who controls Islamic affairs and holy sites, made the decision after a video circulated online of Jewish pilgrims praying at Aaron's Tomb, saying it was an illegal prayer service.

Abu Basl told the Al Mamlaka TV, a state-funded channel, on Thursday that he decided to close the tomb following "Israeli violations" at the site and "the performance of rituals without the knowledge of the ministry."

4. Fires Breakout Across the Country - Jerusalem Online

With the heatwave that has been hitting Israel, a series of fires broke out across the country. In Jerusalem and Hadera, fires spread to residential buildings, forcing tenants to evacuate their homes. In the Har Nof neighborhood of Jerusalem, there was a fire that spread to a synagogue and to an apartment in an adjacent building and surrounded the building on all sides.

For a number of minutes, rescue forces had failed to reach the residents that were trapped inside, but eventually, they were rescued. Magen David Adom teams provided medical care for one person who suffered minor smoke inhalation, after being rescued from his apartment.

Earlier in the day, there was a fire that broke out on a field in the municipal school of Hadera. The fire quickly spread to several adjacent buildings. Firefighters and police from the municipality quickly arrived and ordered the evacuation of two buildings.

5. Liberman calls for televised 'face-off' with Netanyahu, slams PM's 'lies' - Times Of Israel

Yisrael Beytenu leader Avigdor Liberman issued a broadside against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Saturday, calling for a televised "face-off" with the premier to set the record straight on "everyday lies" told by the PM and members of the ruling Likud party ahead of the elections next month.

In an interview aired on Channel 12's Meet the Press, Liberman said he "pitied" Netanyahu for having to "resort to lying every day, every hour" about the Yisrael Beytenu head's bona fides as a right-wing leader, instead calling him a member of the Left.

Liberman precipitated the September 17 vote by refusing to join Netanyahu's coalition following the April elections when he clashed with ultra-Orthodox parties over legislation to regulate military service for ultra-Orthodox men. An irate Netanyahu said at the time that "Liberman is now part of the Left," a charge he's repeated several times since.

6. Turkey to launch offensive in Kurdish-controlled area in northern Syria - Jerusalem Post

Turkey will carry out a military operation in a Kurdish-controlled area east of the Euphrates in northern Syria, Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan said on Sunday, its third offensive to dislodge Kurdish militia fighters close to its border.

Turkey had in the past warned of carrying out military operations east ofthe

river, but put them on hold after agreeing with the United States to create a safe zone inside Syria's northeastern border with Turkey that would be cleared of the Kurdish YPG militia.

But Ankara has accused Washington of stalling progress on setting up the safe zone and has demanded it sever its relations with the YPG. The group was Washington's main ally on the ground in Syria during the battle against Islamic State, but Turkey sees it as a terrorist organization.

7. US pulls out of Reagan-era arms treaty, saying Russia 'made no efforts' to comply - Fox News

A historic arms-control treaty signed three decades ago by President Ronald Reagan and Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev was scrapped after President Trump decided to withdraw Friday.

The move to scrap the Intermediate-range Nuclear Forces (INF) treaty comes amid the administration's assessment that Russia was in "material breach of the treaty" and made no effort to "come back into compliance" with the agreement, a senior White House official said.

"Russia alone is to blame for this situation," the senior official said. "We have taken every opportunity -- dozens and dozens of opportunities across two administrations - to bring Russia back into compliance."

8. U.S .to test new missile as arms treaty with Russia ends - YnetNews.com

WASHINGTON -- With the scrapping of a landmark arms control agreement Friday, the U.S. announced plans to test a new missile amid growing concerns about emerging threats and new weapons.

U.S. officials said they are no longer hamstrung and could now develop weapons systems previously banned under the Intermediate-range Nuclear Forces treaty with Russia, a Cold War-era agreement that both sides repeatedly accused the other of violating.

The Daily Brief

1. Mexico vows to take legal action against U.S. after deadly El Paso shooting - NBC

Mexico on Sunday threatened to take legal action against the United States for failing to protect its citizens after this weekend's mass shooting in the border city of El Paso.

Of the 20 people gunned down at a Walmart at the Cielo Vista Mall, at least three were Mexican citizens, and Foreign Minister Marcelo Ebrard promised Mexico City will act.

Ebrard called Saturday's shooting an "act of barbarism." "The president has instructed me to ensure that Mexico's indignation translates into . . . efficient, prompt, expeditious and forceful legal actions for Mexico to take a role and demand that conditions are established that protect . . . Mexicans in the United States," Ebrard said in a video posted on Twitter.

Of the 26 injured in the attack, at least nine were Mexican nationals, according to the government. (Read more)

- Lord, we pray that only Your will be done with regard to this planned lawsuit. Grant truth and wisdom to all leaders on both sides of the border, particularly against the politicization of this shooting tragedy.

- "Your kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven." (Matthew 6:10)

2. Two planes intercepted over President Trump's NJ golf club for entering no-fly zone - Fox News

Two planes were intercepted in New Jersey for entering a no-fly zone without the proper clearance while President Trump vacationed at his golf resort Friday, local reports said. The North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD), in charge of airspace surveillance for the continental U.S. and Canada, deployed F-16 fighter jets in two separate instances at 7:30 p.m. and again at 8 p.m.

Two single-engine civilian aircraft stopped communicating with air traffic control and entered a temporary flight restriction zone near the Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, N.J., where the president is spending the weekend, News 12 New Jersey reported. In both cases, the pilots reestablished communication with air traffic control and left the restricted airspace without incident, NORAD said. This is the president's third visit to the New Jersey golf course this summer. He is scheduled to return to the White House on Sunday. (Read more)

- Father, in the Name of Jesus, we trust that the angels over President Trump's NJ golf club will be combatant against enemy planes that fly by. May they be met with these angels and stopped by their power. We pray in the Name of Jesus.

- "For God shall give His angels charge over you, to keep you in all your ways."
(Psalm 91:11)

3. Trump Tariffs Hit Dow Jones; What's Next For China Trade War - Investor's Business Daily

New 10% tariffs on $300 billion worth of Chinese imports, possibly including the Apple (AAPL) iPhone, will take effect Sept. 1. Trump tweeted that China trade talks will continue. Negotiators wrapped up a two-day session on Wednesday that was said to be constructive and planned to meet again in September.

The latest breakdown in China trade talks isn't a big surprise. Trump said after meeting Xi that China had agreed to resume buying massive quantities of U.S. agricultural goods. He tweeted on Thursday that it hasn't happened. Meanwhile, Trump said at a G-20 news conference that details of American equipment sales to Huawei would be among the final things sorted out in the trade talks. In other words, he wasn't ready to give up his leverage.

Previously, Trump had threatened 25% tariffs on the last $300 billion slice of untaxed Chinese imports. Those include laptops, cellphones, footwear and apparel. Apple stock reversed lower while retail and apparel stocks plunged. Yet even Trump has recognized that going as high as 25% might hit consumers and take a toll on the economy. So far, at least, he isn't talking about going that far. (Read more)

- Father in heaven, cause China to reap the corruption they have sown in their dealings with America. As a result that China has not resumed buying massive quantities of U.S. agricultural goods as they agreed to, then guide President Trump to cancel importing $300 billion in laptops, cellphones, footwear and apparel from China. Give Trump godly knowledge, Lord. In the Name of Jesus we pray.

- "God delivers and rescues, and He works signs and wonders in heaven and in earth, and has delivered America from the power of the lions." (Daniel 6:27)

4. Trump: North Korea's 3 Short-Range Missile Tests Are Not a Violation of Singapore Agreement - Epoch Times

President Donald Trump said North Korea's three recent short-range missile tests are not a violation of the 2018 Singapore agreement that he signed with Kim Jong Un. "Kim Jong Un and North Korea tested 3 short-range missiles over the last number of days. These missiles tests are not a violation of our signed Singapore agreement, nor was there discussion of short-range missiles when we shook hands," Trump announced on Twitter on Aug. 2.

Trump's statement came after Pyongyang test-fired a new short-range ballistic missile on Friday. The country had earlier launched two new types of short-range ballistic missiles into the sea on July 25. The President did say that the missile tests could be a violation of a U.N. resolution. "There may be a United Nations violation, but Chairman Kim does not want to disappoint me with a violation of trust, there is far too much for North Korea to gain - the potential as a Country, under Kim Jong Un's leadership, is unlimited," wrote Trump. (Read more)

- Father, we pray that any violation of a U.N. resolution made by North Korea, or a violation of trust between President Trump by them, be noted. Give President Trump wisdom as he works through all these issues. We pray in Jesus' Name.

- "If any man serve the Lord, let him follow Jesus; I AM the Light of the world: he that follows me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life." (John 8:12)

5. Esper Has Begun Draining the Swamp - American Spectator

This past Wednesday, I published an article here enjoining President Trump's new Secretary of Defense, Mark Esper, to undo the damage wrought by Gen. James Mattis during his tenure. Among the complaints against Mattis, I paused to note that he had practically handed Amazon a $10 billion contract to service all of the Department of Defense's (DoD) data on its cloud computing servers.

Esper announced that he would be probing the process by which it was created, putting the entire ill-advised boondoggle on hold until he could be sure the whole thing had been done above-board. Trump and Esper's willingness to put the whole sordid process under the microscope shows that both are entirely committed to draining the swamp against which President Trump in particular rails so often.

Esper will need the kind of toughness he displayed in taking this decision again, and fast. The military industrial complex is alive, but it is not well, having long since become an instrument for graft as much as promoting America's military readiness. Esper is clearly willing to listen to concerns from those of us who favor both military superiority and the accountability required to maintain it. (Read more)

- Father, we trust that everything be uncovered and made clear regarding the $10 million contract handed to Amazon to service the DODs computing servers. Let nothing be hidden and all be made honest and aboveboard. In the Name of Jesus we pray.

- "I the Lord search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings." (Jeremiah 17:10)

6. US preparing to withdraw thousands of troops from Afghanistan as part of proposed Taliban deal - FoxNews

The Trump administration has undertaken eight rounds of negotiations with the Taliban, which controlled Afghanistan between 1996 and 2001, led by envoy Zalmay Khalilzad, the Afghan-born former U.S. ambassador to Kabul.

Khalilzad has hinted that a peace agreement could be reached in the next round of talks, scheduled to be held in Qatar later this week. "In Doha, if the Taliban do their part, we will do ours, and conclude the agreement we have been working on," he tweeted Wednesday, adding that he was, "Wrapping up my most productive visit to #Afghanistan since I took this job as Special Rep." The agreement would require the Taliban to broker a peace deal directly with the Afghan government, and give assurances the country won't be used as a launching pad for international terror attacks. However, some officials have concerns about how to hold the group accountable. (Read more)

- Almighty God, we trust You will lead President Trump in withdrawing thousands of U.S. troops from Afghanistan trusting that the Taliban will be held accountable to honer the peace agreement and not once again launch terror attacks. A deal with the wicked cannot be trusted. They do not know fairness. So God we pray for President Trump to be led by Your guidance to hear what God says about this deal. In the Name of Jesus we pray.

- "Let all the earth fear the Lord: let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of Him." (Psalm 33:8)

7. John Ratcliffe withdraws name for top intelligence post, as Trump blames 'LameStream Media' - Fox News

President Donald Trump announced Friday that Rep. John Ratcliffe would not be his nominee as the Director of National Intelligence. The president blamed the media for raising concerns about the nomination. "Our great Republican Congressman John Ratcliffe is being treated very unfairly by the LameStream Media," he wrote on Twitter.

Media reports focused on his claims as a prosecutor of federal terrorism, saying he overstated his credentials and resumé. Other critics painted him as a partisan defender of the president, rather than a serious and independent pick for leading the intelligence agencies. The president's nomination has to be confirmed by the Senate, but members of both parties signaled opposition to the nomination. Trump said he will be announcing his new nominee to replace Coats "shortly." (Read more)

- Almighty God, we pray You will instigate this nomination, which will be the very best choice possible and all the media's influence be held under the power of God and unable to sway the President's choice of good standing. We pray in the Name of Jesus.

- "Give Your servant an understanding heart to judge Your people that I (President Trump) may discern between good and bad: for who is able to judge this Your so great a people." (I Kings 3:9)

8. Trump: 'No One Has Paid a Higher Price for the Far Left's Destructive Agenda' Than Inner Cities - CNS News

President Donald Trump used his rally in Cincinnati, Ohio, to lash out at Democrats for neglecting inner cities while advocating for illegal immigrants. "No one has paid a higher price for the far left's destructive agenda than Americans living in our nation's inner cities. We spend billions and billions and billions for years and years and years, and it's stolen money, and it's wasted money, and it's a shame," he said.

"Republicans believe that every parent has the right to send their children to the school of their choice, but the greatest betrayal committed by the Democrats is their support for open borders, and these open borders would overwhelm schools and hospitals, drain public services and flood communities with poisonous drugs. It's tough enough," Trump said.

The president proposed using the money saved from ending illegal immigration to rebuild inner cities. "Today I have a simple proposal for Democrat leaders to support legislation to end illegal migration, and we will use the vast savings to rebuild our inner cities. That's the way we should be doing it. That's the way we should be doing it," he said. (Read more)

- Almighty God, reach out Your hand to America's great need to support the inner cities and restore them to a healthy state of living. And Father, stop the immigration process today, which the Democrats are using for votes to defeat Trump in the upcoming election. Put the Blood of Jesus upon all the ungodly methods being used by the Democrats. Renounce all their diabolical schemes that have come straight out of the depths of darkness and destruction. In the Name of Jesus.

- "Brethren, if any man of you do err from the truth, and one convert him: Let him know that he which coverts the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins." (James 5:19-20)

9. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's Chief of Staff, Comms Director Depart - Breitbart

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's (D-NY) chief of staff and her communications director have announced plans to depart. The Intercept reported on Friday that Saikat Chakrabarti, the congresswoman's chief of staff since January, and Corbin Trent, her communications director, would be leaving her congressional office in the next few weeks.

Chakrabarti, who masterminded Ocasio-Cortez's election to Congress, is heading to New Consensus, a nonprofit working to bolster the Green New Deal and other climate change initiatives. The shakeup comes as the congresswoman's office has been engulfed in controversy since Chakrabarti attacked more moderate members of the House majority.

Trent, on the other hand, is transitioning to Ocasio-Cortez's reelection campaign, which has elicited a number of high-profile challengers. "With the Ocasio 2020 campaign beginning to ramp up, I've asked Corbin to transition to the campaign full-time and he has agreed to do so," Ocasio-Cortez told The Intercept. "I'm looking forward to growing the movement with him in Queens and the Bronx and across the country." (Read more)

- Father God, we pray that you will fill the vacancies with solid qualified, experienced Christian Republicans who will fill the offices being vacated. We claim New York as a strong God-fearing Christian state that will uphold godly principles who do not comprise good morals. In the Name of Jesus we pray.

- "Better is little with the fear of the Lord; than great treasure and trouble therewith." (Proverbs 15:16)

10. Vet Challenging Ilhan Omar For Her Seat Says Her 9/11 Comments Triggered His Candidacy - Daily Wire

On Friday, the veteran who will challenge Rep. Ilhan Omar for her congressional seat told Fox and Friends that what motivated him to run was Omar's comments in which she said of the perpetrators of the 9/11 attacks, "Some people did something."

Chris Kelley, who serves as a Minnesota police officer, served Operation Desert Storm and deployed twice during the Iraq War as an intelligence analyst, said Omar's comments were "very dismissive and disrespectful," adding, "Look, three-thousand Americans died and many more first responders died [after] responding to this. I figured you can complain or you can try and do something."

He said of Omar, "Well, she's campaigning everywhere else. Now she's in California; now she's overseas; she's not in the district. And people are noticing. Many people have said to me, what is she doing for us? She seems to be worried about her own celebrity and making the news. She's not doing the job." (Read more)

- Father, we pray that You will remove Omar from holding any office in the United States. Strengthen Mr. Kelley that he be voted in to fill this congressional seat. Give him backing of the people so that he can make a drastic change for the better. In the Name of Jesus we pray.

- "This day the Lord your God has commanded you to do these statutes and judgments: you shall therefore keep and do them with all your heart, and with all your soul." (Deuteronomy 32:46)

11. Senate Bill Offered to Ban Unethical Embryonic Stem Cell Research - LifeSiteNews

On Tuesday, Republican Sens. Roger Wicker and Cindy Hyde-Smith of Mississippi re-introduced legislation that would prohibit the federal government from spending tax dollars on embryo-destructive research and instead support the use of stem cells from ethical sources. S.2308 is the latest version of Wicker's Patients First Act, which directs the federal government to prioritize stem cell research funding "in terms of potential for near-term clinical benefit in human patients," and forbids it from supporting research that involves the "creation of a human embryo for research purposes," the "destruction of or discarding of, or risk of injury to, a living human embryo," or the "use of any stem cell" obtained via such means.

The bill would effectively reverse an executive order by former President Barack Obama that authorized the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to support embryonic stem cell research. (Read more)

- Almighty God, we pray and trust that You will stand with Bill S.2308 legislation and vote it into law by the mighty power of the Blood and Name of Jesus Christ. Pull down all evil that may rise against the passing of this bill. Let no ungodly method be used to prevent it from becoming law. We pray in the precious and powerful Name of Jesus.

- "Now therefore, if you will obey God's voice indeed, and keep His covenant, then you shall be a peculiar treasure unto the Lord above all people; for all the earth is mine, says the Lord." (Exodus 19:5)

12. Pedro Pierluisi was sworn in as Puerto Rico's governor. His opponents are still questioning his legitimacy- CNN

Veteran politician Pedro Pierluisi was sworn in as Puerto Rico's new governor on Friday, a spokeswoman with the US territory governor's office said. "Today, my unbreakable commitment with Puerto Rico is stronger than ever," Pierluisi told reporters. Pierluisi, 60, replaces Ricardo Rosselló, who stepped down as governor following weeks of street protests. Rosselló named him Puerto Rico's secretary of state earlier this week, thus placing him next in line to become governor.

Legislators and political experts are questioning Pierluisi's legitimacy as governor. They said he needs approval from the island's House of Representatives and Senate to fill the role.

Before leaving office on Friday, Rosselló said Pierluisi doesn't need to be confirmed to be named governor, citing a 1952 law. The House voted Friday and confirmed him for secretary of state. The Senate is expected to vote by Wednesday. (Read more)

- Father God, we are keeping a careful eye on these developments. We realize that Rep. Alexandria Octavio Cortez, who has brought chaos to the halls of Congress, has roots in Puerto Rico. We sever that nation free to pursue its own destiny, in the will of God, amen.

- "But the Lord is righteous; he has cut me free from the cords of the wicked."
(Psalm 129:4)

Weaponizing racism

Thursday, August 1, 2019

Racism, labeling someone a racist, making accusations of racism are all very trendy now in the national news. Is it racist to criticize someone's political beliefs or body of work if they are a different color than you? Absolutely not. If, however, the criticism is based in believing that person's body of work is subpar because of the color of his/her skin, that is racist. Herein is the ad hominem: attack people by calling them racist if they criticize someone of color. That is not racism. The criticism must be based on race for it to be racist. A recent story revealed audio tapes of President Richard Nixon and California Governor Ronald Reagan making racist remarks. There is likely an agenda behind this coverage.

According to the reports, Reagan and Nixon were discussing in quite derogatory terms how certain African UN Ambassadors did not support the US position against recognizing communist China. Nixon later embellished the story wherever he could, according to TheAtlantic.com. Judging from the quotes, the two were making racist remarks. The agenda behind this could very well become the insinuation that racism is systemic in the Republican Party and, consequently, Republicans who support the party are either racists themselves or support racism. The media would try to tie racism to a long line of Republican Presidents-Nixon, Reagan, Trump, probably even the Bush's.

Let us remember something when it comes to racism. The Republican Party could be considered to have been birthed as a counter to racism. Abraham Lincoln was the first Republican Party president. He also prosecuted the Civil War where some 600,000 Americans were killed. These lives were lost, among other things, because well-established Southern Democrats refused to give up their stronghold over the most racist of institutions in American history-slavery. Until recently, Southern Democrats fought in Congress against every law to establish and integrate Black Americans as equal. Even Lyndon Johnson's Civil Rights Act was passed only because of Republican support as the Democratic majority voted against it. Johnson, himself, was infamous for his racist remarks. How twisted is this political landscape?

For me, I am a race person-the human race. I wholeheartedly believe Galatians 3:28 also applies to people of color when it says, " There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. " I realize there were slaves in the Bible and God allowed it. But no man should own another and all should be measured by the content of their character, not the color of their skin. It is grievous when racism is weaponized and society becomes so divisive that well-intended men and women cannot even speak about certain issues for fear of being branded with a most offensive label. As Christians, let us have the love of Christ for all people, speak the truth in love, and overcome the weaponization of race so irresponsibly unleashed against so many.

Have a Blessed and Powerful Day!

The world or the Word?

The Daily Jot began over 17 years ago with a simple mission: to use current events to equip and encourage people to evangelize the word of God. You may not always agree with what the Daily Jot has to say, but there may always be something in it to talk to others about or to take action. Some just get angry or don't want to think about the way events are shaping up prophetically or the way they are having an impact on society. We, as Christians, cannot afford to ignore the world around us. The issues will not go away if we look the other way. In fact, when Christians are not engaged with their family, their community, their state, their country, everything goes the way of the world, not the way of the Word.

Jesus said in Matthew 28:19-20, "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world." He said in Mark 16:15, "Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature." Romans 10:13-15 says, "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach, except they be sent?

If you receive The Daily Jot, you are hearing and you are being sent. You are called to action. You have current event to use to share the Word of God. As written in 1 Peter 2:9, "But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that you should show forth the praises of him who has called you out of darkness into his marvelous light." James 1:25 says, "But whoso looks into the perfect law of liberty, and continues therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed." As Jesus said in Matthew 5:16, "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven."

It's not always easy. Many people find sharing the word uncomfortable in this day and age. But we are not charged to be comfortable, but to take up our cross and follow the Lord. That means it's not chocolate and roses, or Rolexes or checks in the mail or nice cars or whatever material things modern preachers are preaching about. It's not really about you or me. It's about Jesus and him being preached. 2 Corinthians 8-13 says, "We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; Persecuted, but not forsake; cast down, but not destroyed...We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak." So let us speak boldly as we ought to for if you are reading this you are equipped and encouraged to do so.

Have a blessed and powerful day,

1. Democrats just purged white party staffers, and it's a bigger deal than anyone wants to admit - Washington Examiner

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, the House Democrats' powerful campaign arm, has just abruptly purged half a dozen staffers. It appears that no one had anything against these particular staffers, except for the color of their skin.

Although roughly half the committee's full-time staff (13 of 27) were nonwhite, this was not enough for some Democratic members of Congress. They complained DCCC Chairwoman Cheri Bustos of Illinois had brought in too many white staffers when she won the position. And they put enough pressure on her [to fire these loyal staffers].

This is not a party fit to govern. If an organization is actually willing to fire you from your job just because you're white, do you really want to be involved with it? Would you even want to vote for it? (Read more)

2. Analysis: Dem Candidates Call For More Than $200 Trillion in Spending - Free Beacon

Democratic candidates for the 2020 nomination have promised more than $210 trillion in new spending across the field, analysis by the Washington Free Beacon shows.

That overall figure is an undercount, as it is based only on proposals for which the Free Beacon could identify actual spending estimates. The true figure is much larger. For example, Sen. Bernie Sanders's (I., Vt.) Medicare for All proposal is included, while Sen. Kamala Harris's (D., Calif.) is not, because no cost assessment for the latter could be identified.

Of the $210 trillion, the plurality-$94 trillion-is the estimated cost of a Green New Deal, which a number of candidates have backed in some form or another. The remaining $116 trillion-roughly six times the United States's annual Gross Domestic Product-is spread across a variety of policy proposals, from Andrew Yang's Universal Basic Income to Marianne Williamson's call for $200 to $500 billion in reparations for slavery. 3. Delaney goes for broke at Dem debate as truth-teller - American Thinker

There was one grown-up onstage last night in Detroit, trying to tether his party to reality. John Delaney had what many consider the best moment of the debate, telling Bernie Sanders why his Medicare for All program would seriously degrade the quality of healthcare.

DELANEY: "So the bill that Senator Sanders drafted by definition will lower quality in health care because it says specifically that the rates will be the same as current Medicare rates, and the data is clear, Medicare does not cover the cost of health care. It covers 80% of the cost of health care in this country, and private insurance covers 120%. So if you start under paying all the health care providers, you're going to create a two tier market where wealthy people buy their health care with cash and the people who are forced will have that health care plan taken away. "

"So I think Democrats win when we run on real solutions, not impossible promises. When we run on things that are workable, not fairy tale Economics, look at the story of Detroit, this amazing city that we're in. This city is turning around because the government and the private sector are working well together. That has to be our model going forward. We need to encourage collaboration between the government, the private sector and the nonprofit sector." (Read more)

4. Candidate says Democrats 'will lose 48 states' if they back ending private health insurance - Washington Examiner

Democratic 2020 candidate Tim Ryan says President Trump would wipe out his opponent if the other candidate proposes eliminating private health insurance in favor of "Medicare for all."

During the contest, Ryan repeatedly pushed back against Sens. Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren and their plans to take away private health insurance from all Americans and replace it with government-sponsored coverage. Ryan asserted that his fellow candidates were proposing ideas that lacked appeal for most Americans, who would want to keep their private health insurance.

He also expressed concern that moderate voters will be turned off by plans to provide free healthcare to undocumented immigrants, as several other candidates have proposed. "We can't be paying for undocumented people to get free healthcare while every American is asked to pay for their healthcare," Ryan said. (Read more)

5. Rush Limbaugh: 75% chance Michelle Obama joins race for president - WND

"I think the Obamas collectively think they've got a lot of scores to settle," Limbaugh told his listeners Tuesday. The topic came up when a caller asked why Barack Obama hasn't endorsed any Democratic candidate. "The main reason he's not endorsing anybody is because his wife may jump into this thing at the end of it. He also can't afford to lose! If he endorses somebody that loses? The worst thing in the world that could happen is for that to happen," he said.

I think the Obamas collectively think they've got a lot of scores to settle. That 2016 Trump victory was taken as a personal humiliating, resounding rejection. "The Obamas [can] swoop in, after having spent no money, and after having made nobody mad, Michelle save[s] the Democrat Party from itself to a roaring media crescendo of excitement and approval. Don't rule it out." (Read more)

6. Marianne Williamson Dominates Google Searches in 49 States After Democrat Debate - Breitbart

Williamson captivated viewers with her meandering and unconventional responses and phrases such as "dark psychic force" and "emotional turbulence." At the last debate, she won attention for saying her plan to defeat President Trump was to "harness love." She won some of the loudest applause for her responses on racism and reparations.

Breitbart News's Joel Pollak reported from a Williamson watch party in Detroit, where dozens of her supporters were thrilled with her performance. Cynthia, from Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, said: "When the 'forces' allow her to speak, she's slam-dunkin' it." The only question, she said, was "whether the country is ready for a Jewish female, speaking almost prophetic, Christ-like words," she said.

Williamson also won the Drudge Report's instant straw poll. She had several breakout moments onstage Tuesday. "We are going to establish public funding for federal campaigns. That's what we need to stand up to. We need to have a constitutional amendment. We need to have legislation to do it, and until we do it, it's just the same old, same old," she said. (Read more)

- Father, we pray members of the Democrat party will want realistic solutions to our nation's problems and accountability throughout the party leadership and our government as a whole.

- These are the things you shall do: speak each man the truth to his neighbor; give judgment in your gates for truth, justice, and peace. (Zechariah 8:16)

An Occultist in the White House?

Democratic Candidate Williamson Has "Occult Task Force"
Supporting Her

New Age Author and Democratic Presidential candidate Marianne Williamson obviously wants to draw a line between her well-documented New Age theology and the word "occult." Of course, we know as Christians that New Age is a deception, and very much a false religion and part of the occultic realm. Read this following report and her response with that knowledge. Don't discount her in the race. Her power runs deep with Oprah Winfrey and her money behind her.

A group of supporters of 2020 White House hopeful and Marianne Williamson has put together an "occult task force" in support of the spiritual guru; however, her campaign is none too pleased about the move.

In an interview with the Washington Post, the anonymous individual heading up the "task force" told the Jeff-Bezos owned newspaper that 13 witches, chaos magicians, and energy workers performed "gestures" in an effort to get Williamson more speaking time during Tuesday's Democrat presidential primary debate in Detriot, Michigan.

"The whole orb gang community is tapping into the power of memes to reflect back on, and multiply, the sort of pulsing undercurrents of our collective unconscious," the person emailed the Post. According to the publication, Williamson supporters refer to themselves as the "orb gang," who share memes of the candidate on social media.
After catching wind of the "task force", the Williamson campaign told the Post that it's deeply uncomfortable with their activities, citing their usage of the term "occultist."

"I am very, very concerned about the word occultist," Patricia Ewing, the spiritual guru's campaign spokesperson, told the newspaper, before stating she was unaware of the "task force's" existence.

In a tweet last week, Williamson declared she is "not a cult leader," nor anti-science after claims about her purported opposition to vaccinations circulated on social media.

"I am not a cult leader. I am not anti-science (that one is almost funny, given how much I quote Einstein). And I am not an anti-vaxxer," she tweeted." Hoping that if I repeat it 3 to 4 times a day I might penetrate the field of lies created to keep some people out of the conversation."

Williamson is making headlines following last night's breakout debate performance, in which she claimed President Donald Trump is emboldening a "dark psychic force" in the United States and warned the Democrat Party faces "very dark days" unless it addresses systemic issues facing the country. She was the most searched Democrat candidate on Google during the debate and earned top billings on the Drudge Report's straw poll with nearly 50 percent of the vote.

- Father God, we praise You that others are now waking up to the fact that the spirit is real, but we repent that many are being drawn to the dark side and not to the light of our Savior and the Gospel of truth.

We ask you to forgive these confused and lost ones, for they know not what they do. We are GOD'S TASK FORCE, daily bringing truth to power. In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ and by the blood of the Lamb, we decree the destruction of this "Occult Task Force" and the deliverance of its captives, amen and amen.

Classic Hymns

A MIGHTY FORTRESS IS OUR GOD

"God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble." (Psalm 46:1)

Lyrics

A mighty fortress is our God, A bulwark never failing; Our helper He, amid the flood Of mortal ills prevailing: For still our ancient foe Doth seek to work us woe; His craft and power are great, And, armed with cruel hate, On earth is not his equal.

Did we in our own strength confide, Our striving would be losing; Were not the right Man on our side, The Man of God's own choosing: Dost ask who that may be? Christ Jesus, it is He; Lord Sabaoth, His name, From age to age the same, And He must win the battle.

And though this world, with devils filled, Should threaten to undo us, We will not fear, for God hath willed His truth to triumph through us: The Prince of Darkness grim, We tremble not for him; His rage we can endure, For lo, his doom is sure, One little word shall fell him.

That word above all earthly powers, No thanks to them, abideth; The Spirit and the gifts are ours Through Him who with us sideth: Let goods and kindred go, This mortal life also; The body they may kill: God's truth abideth still, His kingdom is forever.

A mighty fortress is our God, A trusty shield and weapon; He helps us free from every need That hath us now overtaken. The old evil foe Now means deadly woe; Deep guile and great might Are his dread arms in fight; On Earth is not his equal.

With might of ours can naught be done, Soon were our loss effected; But for us fights the Valiant One, Whom God Himself elected. Ask ye, who is this? Jesus Christ it is. Of Sabbath Lord, And there's none other God; He holds the field forever.

Though devils all the world should fill, All eager to devour us. We tremble not, we fear no ill, They shall not overpower us. This world's prince may still Scowl fierce as he will,He can harm us none, He's judged; the deed is done; One little word can fell him.

The Word they still shall let remain Nor any thanks have for it; He's by our side upon the plain With His good gifts and Spirit. And take they our life, goods, Fame, child and wife, Let these all be gone, They yet have nothing won; The kingdom ours remaineth.

Words and Music: Martin Luther, 1529

This song has been called "the greatest hymn of the greatest man of the greatest period of German history," and the "Battle Hymn of the Reformation." It was sung at the funeral of American president Dwight Eisenhower at the National Cathedral in Washington, DC, March 1969.

About the Hymn:

In 1720 a remarkable revival began in a town in Moravia. Jesuits opposed it, and the meetings were prohibited. Those who still assembled were seized and imprisoned in stables and cellars. At David Nitschmann's house, where a hundred and fifty persons gathered, the police broke in and seized the books. Not dismayed, he congregation struck up the stanzas of Luther's hymn,

"And though this world, with devils filled,
Should threaten to undo us;
We will not fear, for God hath willed
His truth to triumph through us."

Twenty heads of families were for this sent to jail, including Nitschmann, who was treated with special severity. He finally escaped, fled to the Moravians at Herrnhut, became a bishop, and afterwards joined the Wesleys in 1735 in their expedition to Savannah, Georgia.

3 Family Members Dead, 2 Others Injured in Cliff Collapse at Southern California Beach

Three people were killed and two others were injured Friday when a cliff gave way at a beach in Encinitas, California, authorities said.

The incident occurred just before 3 p.m. local time at Grandview Beach in the Leucadia community, NBC San Diego reported. Deputies responded to the incident near the 1700 block of Neptune Avenue and found several people buried under the collapsed bluff, the report added.

The three killed were from the same family.

Anne Clave, 35, and her mother, Julie Davis, 65, died at hospitals after tons of sandstone were unleashed Friday at Grandview Beach, the San Diego County Medical Examiner said. A family email obtained Saturday by KNSD-TV identified the third victim as Elizabeth Cox, Clave's aunt.

The victims were part of a family gathering celebrating Cox's surviving breast cancer, the email said.

Cox died instantly at the scene, the email said. Her age wasn't given.

Clave "enriched the lives of all those around her with the joy and fun she brought to all," the email said, and Davis was an "incredible grandmother."

Another person was taken to a hospital, and a person who had minor injuries was treated at the scene, according to statements from the city.

A 30-foot-long slab of the cliff plunged onto the sand near Grandview Beach north of San Diego. A KNSD-TV helicopter captured footage of beach chairs, towels, surf boards and beach toys strewn about the sand.

A lifeguard reported feeling and hearing the thud as the dense dirt landed on the beach.

"It just happened to take place outside his peripheral (vision)," Giles said, noting that the lifeguard had his eyes trained on the water.
