"Standing United Together . . . Under the Cross of Christ"
Introduction
|
||||
The Word of God brings LIGHT and UNDERSTANDING to our minds!
"The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple." (Psalm 119:130)
Below, please find an indepth study, and a means of repentance, for the fact that in most of our schools today, neither prayers are uttered nor the Word of God read aloud or studied by our students.
Sadly, when the Word is not activated (read) in any of our minds, the Shield of Protection offered by the Holy One is lifted, and "every evil thing" (thought) may then enter in.
Some would perhaps say that this analysis is a bit too simplistic -- that there are many other factors to consider when judging how the Word of God may impact our minds.
But the work of the Cross is simple:
Christ died to set the captives free!
> > > Please join us tonight in reading and praying over the insights listed below, written by a sister in Christ who is a professor in the School of Education in a nearby university.
We now join "Dr. Beverly" in offering these insights and prayers of repentance on behalf of our little ones, as they head back to school this month. "Father, let Your light shine in each heart. Amen."
Foundational Verses
|
||||
Foundational Verses
(Psalms 119:130)P - "The entrance of Thy Words giveth light: it giveth understanding unto the simple."
> > > * Repentance is needed on behalf of the church and society for not making the Word preeminent in the teaching of our children and allowing His light to shine through them in all areas of their lives.
(Isaiah 60:1-2) - "Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee. For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and His glory shall be seen upon thee."
Our Focus: Repentance
|
||||
Our Focus: Repentance
Our focus is to continue to cry out to God in repentance for the removal of ungodliness not only over our nation's children and schools, but also for a release of His light in all areas of America's culture.
- Repent that many in the church who know God's word have not come into full agreement with what He says. Therefore, like the children of Israel who wandered in the wilderness, many American Christians are not walking in the light of the promises God gave to them or His purposes for their generation.
- Repent His people have allowed their children to be programmed by computer games, apps, etc. Repent for the preeminent place computers as a source of knowledge are taking in schools and workplaces. The knowledge of the Holy is understanding. (Proverbs 9:10)
- Repent for those who have been dependent on Man's knowledge from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil in the Garden. Pray the ax would be laid to the root of this pride in knowledge gained through education, information sources, media and the receiving of degrees.
- Repent for allowing our minds to be programmed by the culture based upon the espoused by secular humanist schools. Pray for a reprogramming of the minds of Americans through God's Word.
- Repent for the lack of time and motivation to partake of His Word. Prayer for a desire for the Word and a meaningful partaking of His Word. Prayer in agreement. - Ask "for the entrance of His Words," bringing light, perhaps a bringing to remembrance of His Words in the hearts of Americans. Yes, teach us Lord about eating (finding sustenance in the Word). Holy Spirit we ask You to come and bring all things to our remembrance.
Praying for Those in Authority
|
||||
Praying for Those in Authority
Prayer for the authority over our land and our schools - including:
- Thanksgiving to Almighty God for raising up President Donald Trump and Secretary of Education, Mrs. Betsy DeVos.
- Ask for God to give President Trump and Secretary DeVos wisdom and courage for how He would have them openly acknowledge the source of all, God Himself and our dependence on Him for the education of our children.
Prayers of Agreement
|
||||
Prayers of Agreement
- "And God said, let there be light; and there was light. And God saw the light, that it was good; and God divided the light from the darkness." (Gen. 1:3-4). We your people call forth Your light in our lives, the lives of our children, and the life of our nation, the United States of America. May Your light obliterate the darkness.
- "Then I saw that wisdom excelleth folly, as far as light excelleth darkness." (Ecclesiastes 2:13). We your people call out for the fear of the Lord {that is} the beginning of wisdom: (Ps. 111:10a) May folly be exposed by Your light over our schools and our land. May Your wisdom come to all who fear You. We repent for our fear of man and ask for an increase of the fear of You, O God.
- "I have slain them by the words of my mouth: and thy judgments are as the light that goeth forth." (Hosea 6:5b) We your people, by the word of our mouth in agreement with your Word release Your light by proclaiming your Word over our schools and our nation.
- "But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship one with another and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanseth us from all sin." (I John 1:7) Pray for God's people, His children, that they would "walk in the light" continually that sin would have no place in our nation.
A Closing Proclamation
|
||||
A Closing Proclamation
- We, His people come into alignment with those who have gone before us and decreed the Light of God over our nation, these United States of America. Indeed this is a part of the heritage and destiny of our nation.
- Excerpt from Rev. Hunt's prophetic actions in Jamestown, April 29, 1607:
> When the settlers planted a cross at Fort Henry, he (Rev. Robert Hunt) dedicated the content to God and decreed that from these shores the gospel would be a light to the rest of the nations of the world.
- We in our generation "decree a thing, and it shall be established unto (us) thee" - Job 22:28. We align ourselves in this generation with Rev. Robert Hunt's decree, our continent is dedicated to God and we, God's people in this generation come into agreement with Rev. Hunt and the Jamestown setters by speaking "the gospel of Jesus Christ from our nation will be a light that will go forth to the nations of the world."
- City on a Hill Speech (Massachusetts) - John F. Kennedy - Jan. 9, 1961. "I have been guided by the standard John Winthrop set before his shipmates on the flagship Arabella 331 years ago, as they, too faced the task of building a new government on a perilous frontier. "We must always consider," he said, "That we shall be as a city upon a hill - the eyes of all people are upon us."
- The Shining City Upon a Hill - Farewell address by Ronald Reagan in 1989. In this speech President Reagan quoted Puritan Pilgrim John Winthrop. "for we must consider that we shall be a city upon a hill. The eyes of all people are upon us. So that if we deal falsely with our God in this work we have undertaken, and so cause Him to withdraw His present help from us, we shall be made a story and a by-word through the world."
- (Matthew 5:14-16) [origin of city on a hill] "Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father which is in Heaven."
Alignment and Unity
|
||||
Alignment and Unity
Alignment - Let there be light in our nation! Pray for the alignment of the light of God in our land, according to Acts 13:47 and II Corinthians 4:6.
IT IS WRITTEN:
"For God who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ." (II Corinthians 4:6)

Thy word is a lamp unto my feet . . .
With Amy Grant
Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.
Thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path.
Whenever I am afraid, and think I've lost my way,
Still you're there beside me.
Nothing will I fear as long as you are near
Please be near me to the end.
Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.
Thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path.

About Capitol Hill Prayer Partners
Our Mission Statement
Capitol Hill Prayer Partners (CHPP) is a ministry which is positioned on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., helping members of the Body of Christ to "pray for those in authority over us" in our federal government. Our primary purpose is to offer intercession on site for the members of Congress and their staffs each day that the Senate and the House of Representatives are in session; and our chief prayer focus is that "God's will be done in earth, as it is in heaven." [Matthew 6:10].
Because Jesus Christ has shed His blood for all, we, too, pray for ALL, in a nonpartisan manner. Also, because the scriptures indicate that "the effectual, fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much" (James 4:17), we are confident that fervent prayer, offered in the halls of the highest chambers of government in our land, can avail much for America. Capitol Hill Prayer Partners welcomes those who feel called to join us, engaging in this strategic work of intercession for our nation: "For there is no power but of God; the powers that be are ordained of God." [Romans 13:1]
