The Sound of the Shofar: Its Four Meanings
Last night at sundown, Jews around the world observed Rosh Hashanah - the Jewish New Year, and the beginning of the Ten Days of Awe, leading into the fall feasts.
Rosh Hashanah is a time of realigning, a time to reset and start again. Rosh Hashanah is followed by Yom Kippur, The Day of Atonement, September 19.
Throughout these holy days, the shofar plays an important part in these fall feasts.
It is blown four different times and each time is for a different purpose.
The first shofar is blown on the first morning of Rosh Hashanah and it is a call to AWAKEN our hearts to the Lord.
The second shofar is blown on the second morning of Rosh Hashanah and it is a call to RETURN to the Lord.
The third Shofar is blown on Yom Kippur and it is a call to REPENT.
The fourth Shofar is blown to begin the Feast of Tabernacles and it is a call to REJOICE.
Let us each set our hearts to "hear" the sounds of the four shofars, and to move through these next ten days accordingly: from AWAKENING, to RETURNING to the Lord, to REPENTANCE, and to REJOICING at the goodness of our God.

2. BREAKING! Red Heifer Birth, Paves Way for Messiah - Jerusalem Connection
Last Tuesday, the Temple Institute's Red Heifer program was blessed with results; an entirely red female calf was born, paving the way for re-establishing the Temple service and marking the final stage of redemption.
Almost three years ago the Temple Institute inaugurated its Raise a Red Heifer in Israel program. Due to laws restricting the importation of live cattle into Israel, the Temple Institute imported frozen embryos of red angus, implanting them in Israeli domestic cows. The pregnant cows were raised on cattle ranches in different locations throughout the country. The cows are giving birth this summer with several calves already having been born.
One week after it's birth, the newborn red heifer was certified by a board of rabbis as fulfilling all the Biblical requirements. The rabbis emphasized that the heifer could, at any time, acquire a blemish rendering it unsuitable. They will be inspecting the calf periodically to verify its condition. (Read more)
3. Israel lends expertise to international court for first time in half-century - World Israel News
This week, Israel took part in a debate at the International Court of Justice in The Hague (ICJ) for the first time in over 50 years that did not place the Jewish state at the center of the conflict.
Specifically, Israel participated in oral proceedings related to an Indian ocean archipelago, the rights to which are disputed by the United Kingdom and Mauritius. Sovereignty over the islands in question, known as the Chagos Archipelago, remains at the heart of the dispute.
Israeli officials from the foreign and justice ministries concurred with the UK's position that the court lacks jurisdiction to rule on the matter, seeking to pursuade the tribunal to issue an advisory opinion to that effect. While the ICJ's advisory opinions are not binding on the parties, their legal importance is generally recognized and respected by the international community. (Read more)
4. Army shoots and kills Palestinian trying to sabotage Gaza border fence - Times of Israel
IDF soldiers on Sunday shot and killed a Palestinian who repeatedly tried to sabotage the Gaza Strip border fence, the army said.
"Troops recognised a suspect who approached the security fence and attempted to sabotage it," an English-language army statement said, adding that they opened fire at the man.
He was given medical treatment but "later on, the suspect succumbed to his wounds," it added. (Read more)
5. Abbas Threatens To Cut Ties With Israel If It Negotiates With Hamas - Jerusalem Post
Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas threatened to sever ties with Israel if the state makes an agreement with Hamas, Palestinian sources told Al Hayat, a London based newspaper on Friday.
According to the report, the sources said that Abbas's position caused Egypt to place the internal Palestinian reconciliation at the top of its list of priorities and to reject the "calm first" option.
Abbas said that he had met with Shin Bet director Nadav Argaman in early September. Argaman had tried to persuade Abbas not to sabotage the efforts to arrange a settlement between Israel and Hamas and to ensure a Palestinian reconciliation, according to an Israeli source on Monday. According to the report, Argaman told Abu Mazen that this is a historic opportunity and it would be a shame to waste it. (Read more)
6. "Israel Has Been Betrayed" Says Former Paraguayan President - Jerusalem Online
Former Paraguayan President Horacio Cartes, who last May ordered the transfer of his country's embassy to Jerusalem, is firmly opposed to the decision announced by his successor, Mario Abdo BenÃtez, to move the Paraguayan Embassy from the holy city to Tel Aviv. The former president of the South American country stated in a Twitter message that "the values of the Judeo-Christian civilization were betrayed", to "a friend" and also "the will and feeling of the Paraguayan people" due to the announcement of the transfer of the Paraguayan Embassy in Jerusalem to Tel Aviv.
"Today a friend was betrayed! Today the will and feelings of the Paraguayan people were betrayed! Today the friendship between Paraguay and Israel was betrayed," Cartes said, adding: "Every people who turned their backs on Israel paid dearly! (Read more)

Finally, reality is setting in. For years America, the UN, the EU, Arab Muslim nations have poured billions upon billions into the Palestinian bottomless pit. What has been the result. Intifada's, or uprisings against Israeli's. Bus bombings, suicide bombings, stabbings, even where the Palestinians put a bounty on the head of every Israeli man, woman, and child. Whereby any Palestinian terrorist who attacked, wounded, or murdered a Jew was promised a monthly stipend from the Palestinian government for his family for life!
As the money poured in Palestinian school books, Friday sermons in their Mosques were laced with anti-semitic attacks on Israeli's and Jews. This continues unabated today.
Yes, the US, the UN, the EU, and the Arab Muslim nations have continued to fund the Palestinian's. Finally, a President has arisen who has begun to reshaped reality. He has cut off funding of the Palestinian Authority. He has raised up sanctions against Iran, the major funder and arms supplier to Hamas and Hezbollah in Lebanon. He has defunded US contributions to UNRA! The US Congress has passed the Taylor Force Act, which cuts Palestinian funding to families who have committed acts of murder against Israeli citizens. Yesterday, President Trump declared no money for the Palestinians until they make peace with Israel! Plain, straight forward, and correct.
After the US has spent more than $10 billion dollars on the Palestinians enough is enough! Praise God for President Trump! (Read more)

1. All Eyes On Red State Democrats As Kavanaugh Emerges From Hearings Intact - Daily Caller
Attention is fixed on a handful of moderate senators expected to cast the decisive votes on Judge Brett Kavanaugh's nomination to the Supreme Court, after Kavanaugh emerged relatively unscathed from several days of testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee.
Democrats tried to infuse the hearings with defiant gestures and dramatic reveals - like a 2003 email purporting to show Kavanaugh misled the committee about his views on Roe v. Wade - but their tactics gained little traction with key lawmakers, while the judge put in a disciplined performance throughout.
For his part, Kavanaugh avoided serious blunders, meeting pointed questions about abortion, race, guns, and executive power with narrow, carefully planned answers, showing good command of legal doctrine but little about his actual views. Supreme Court nominees have generally avoided divulging their substantive legal positions, a practice Kavanaugh liberally invoked during the hearings.
Speaking Friday with conservative commentator Hugh Hewitt, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said that Kavanaugh will be confirmed before the Supreme Court returns from its summer recess on Oct. 1. "He'll be on board at the Supreme Court by the first Monday in October, which you and I both know is the beginning of the October term," McConnell said. (Read more)

2. Obama tries to demonize Trump voters, following Hillary's losing strategy - Fox News
Former President Obama gave the nation some insights into the Democratic Party's midterm election strategy Friday with a political speech demonizing Americans who elected Donald Trump as president and doubling down on the failed liberal ideology that devastated our economy.
In a moment reminiscent of Hillary Clinton's outrageous characterization of Trump voters as "deplorable" and "irredeemable," President Obama said: "I have to say this . . . Over the past few decades, the politics of division and resentment and paranoia has unfortunately found a home in the Republican Party."
Labeling the 63 million Trump voters as "deplorable" and "irredeemable" didn't work out for Hillary Clinton when she ran a failed presidential campaign against Trump in 2016. Labeling the same voters as divisive, resentful and paranoid will not work for Democrats in the November midterm elections. (Read more)

3. Yes, the Mainstream Media Is the Enemy - American Greatness
If you are aiding, abetting, and protecting a saboteur who has infiltrated the highest echelon of the American government, then you are, in the words of President Trump, "the enemy of the American people." The New York Times, once lambasting this dig as "extraordinary," has demonstrated just how fine the label fits by publishing an anonymous White House saboteur on its opinion pages earlier this week.
If we accept that this anonymous source is real, then he (the Times briefly tweeted the writer is a "he") is indeed "part of the resistance" that is "working diligently from within to frustrate parts of [President Trump's] agenda." That is, he is working to frustrate the agenda which the American people elected the president to duly execute.
This is patent and anti-democratic subversion: the process by which something, like the executive office, is contradicted or undermined from within. This person acts merely because he is an enemy to the president's agenda, and by extension American people's agenda, because, in his opinion, he knows better. Nobody elected him, but his judgment is superior. Like the overseers of the Times, he cannot accept the American people's rejection of the old political order. Whether the source is real or not, the Times' editorial team published this story with the intent to sow the seeds of discord and doubt among the American people.
The right thing to do would be to comply with the president's demands to reveal the identity of this subversive. This move might have saved the Times from further disgrace. Instead, the Times will make unveiling the identity of this individual a Sherlockian contest, one that they initiated and one in which they have since declared themselves participants. (Read more)

4. FBI 'Coordinated' Leaks for FISA Application, Meadows Reveals - Lifezette
FBI officials "coordinated" leaks to the media that were then used in their Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) warrant application to spy on Trump campaign adviser Carter Page, Rep. Mark Meadows (R-N.C.) said Thursday night on Fox News' "The Ingraham Angle." "We now have documents that prove it - where they leaked to the media. Then, they used the same information to verify the veracity of their claims and actually use that for a FISA warrant," said Meadows, who is chairman of the House Freedom Caucus. "Well, you can't do both. So the FBI had a 'leak to the media' strategy, and it's troubling," he added.
The FISA application was based almost entirely on the infamous "Steele dossier" of unproven allegations about Trump alleging collusion with Russian interests. Former British spy Christopher Steele compiled the dossier, which was paid for by 2016 Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton's campaign and the Democratic National Committee (DNC).
Meadows, Jordan, and several other lawmakers urged Trump Thursday to declassify the FBI's Page surveillance warrant renewals, along with other key documents involved in the DOJ's and FBI's Russia investigation. (Read more)

5. Former Trump campaign adviser Papadopoulos sentenced to 2 weeks in prison - Washington Times
Former Trump campaign adviser George Papadopoulos was sentenced Friday to two weeks in prison for lying to investigators probing Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election. Papadopoulos, 31, is the second person charged in special counsel Robert Mueller's Russia investigation to be sentenced.
In court filings, Mueller's team claimed Papadopoulos' lies "caused damage" to the government's Russian collusion investigation. They said his sentence should reflect that "lying to federal investigators has real consequences, especially where the defendant lied to investigators about critical facts in an investigation of national importance."
Papadopoulos pleaded guilty in October to lying to the FBI about his dealings with Joseph Mifsud, a London-based professor who told him in 2016 that Russia had damaging information on President Trump's campaign rival, Hillary Clinton.
The only other defendant in the Russia probe who has been sentenced is Dutch attorney Alexander Van der Zwaan. He pleaded guilty in February to lying to the FBI about his communications with Rick Gates, a business associate of former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort, who was also under investigation. Van der Zwaan was sentenced to 30 days in a Pennsylvania prison and received a $20,000 fine. He has since been deported after completing his term. (Read more)

6. Homeland Security announces new rules to detain illegal immigrant families - Washington Times
The Trump administration moved Thursday to regain control of immigration detention decisions, proposing rules that would allow them to hold parents and children together in facilities until they're either deported or win their cases. Once finalized, the proposal would also end some of the intrusive court oversight of treatment of children and return decision-making to the administration, which for years has had its hands tied by judges' orders.
The 203-page proposal, published online by the Federal Register, establishes minimum standards of care for all illegal immigrant juveniles, including those who come to the border with parents and unaccompanied alien children. Most of the protections already in place will be continued, with unaccompanied alien children still released to sponsors as quickly as possible. But families that show up at the border could be detained together under the rules, which supersede a 2015 court order that requires them to be released after just 20 days.
The administration hopes that change can help stem the flow of illegal immigrant families - and those posing as families - that have streamed north in recent years, hoping to take advantage of the 20-day policy. (Read more)

7. WikiLeaks Cybersecurity Expert Vanishes Without a Trace - BigLeague Politics
According to a New York Times report, a cybersecurity expert tied to WikiLeaks has disappeared without a trace on August 20, last seen in a remote northern Norwegian town near the Arctic Circle.
"The disappearance of Arjen Kamphuis, 46, has so far flummoxed a widening police investigation that has chased stray clues and false leads in Norway, Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands and Sweden," the report said. According to the report, Norwegian police do not know if Kamphuis was a victim of foul play, and they are investigating all possible angles.
"The uncertainty, and Mr. Kamphuis's links to WikiLeaks, the anti-secrecy organization that has run afoul of governments and other powerful interests, has the internet buzzing with conspiracy theories," according to the report. Kamphius, described as an avid hiker and "associate" of WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange, is a Dutch national and was expected to return to The Netherlands after his trip to Norway.
The report said that some are speculating that he may be in Bodo, the last town in which he was seen, which is home to Norway's largest military base and cyber-defense center. "Partial breakthroughs have only added to the mystery," according to the report. "The police revealed that 10 days after Mr. Kamphuis had disappeared in the High North, someone tried to use his cellphone near the village of Vikesa, 650 miles south of Bodo, attempting to activate a German SIM card." The investigation is now multi-national, spanning across several European nations. (Read more)

8. US military starts exercise in Syria amid Russian threats - Washington Examiner
U.S. forces in Syria on Friday announced the start of a military exercise amid reports that Russia has warned of possible attack in the same area. The exercise includes a company-size unit practicing a live-fire aerial assault in the area around Al Tanf, where the U.S. has set up a garrison and declared a deconfliction zone under Operation Inherent Resolve.
Russia has threatened an offensive on the area twice in recent days and claimed the U.S. is harboring militants, raising concerns among American commanders, according to CNN. The U.S. has used the garrison at Al Tanf for about two years as a base of operations against the Islamic State in Syria. It includes a 34-mile deconfliction zone meant to avoid any clash between American forces and nearby forces associated with Syria, Russia, or Iran.
The rising tensions come as the Syrian government under President Bashar Assad, with the help of Russia, is poised for a final, major offensive against rebels in the country's western province of Idlib. Russia, Iran, and Turkey held talks on Friday about the offensive.
President Trump warned Syria against a reckless attack in Idlib. His administration, including the Pentagon, has said any new use of chemical weapons by Assad will trigger swift action by the U.S. (Read more)

9. Iran Touts Collaboration With Soros' Open Society Foundation - FreeBeacon
Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif said the Islamic Republic has had a long and successful working relationship with the Open Society Foundations, a massive philanthropic organization run by liberal billionaire George Soros.
"Zarif claimed that the Open Society Foundation was legally operational inside Iran with significant collaborations with city councils and other organizations," according to a translation of recent remarks by Zarif performed by Iran Gateway. Zarif went on to claim "he made sure these meetings with Iranians were under strict rules and scrutiny, lest it jeopardizes national security," according to the translation of remarks before Iran's Parliament.
Zarif also claimed" he was briefed regularly on the content of these meetings by the Iranian counterparts" and referenced similar claims by "Kian Tajbakhsh, head of Open Society Foundation in Iran, as mostly confirming his claims." Soros's foundation is a prolific funder of liberal organizations, including J Street, Human Rights Watch, and a cadre of other organizations critical of Israel. (Read more)

10. Trump to chair U.N. Security Council meeting on Iran - Reuters
U.S. President Donald Trump will chair a U.N. Security Council meeting on Iran this month to spotlight its "violations of international law" during the annual gathering of world leaders in New York, U.S. Ambassador Nikki Haley said on Tuesday.
The United States, which holds the council presidency for September, has unsuccessfully pushed the Security Council to call out Iran. Haley has regularly attacked Iran, accusing it of meddling in the wars in Syria and Yemen. Haley told reporters Trump was chairing the meeting "to address Iran's violations of international law and the general instability Iran sows throughout the entire Middle East region."
Diplomats said Iran could request to speak at the Sept. 26 meeting, the high-level week of the U.N. General Assembly. Iranian President Hassan Rouhani is expected to address the assembly on Sept. 25. The Iranian U.N. mission did not immediately respond to a request for comment. (Read more)

11. Florence strengthens into a hurricane, threatens to hit Southeast US - Fox News
Florence regained hurricane strength Sunday and is expected to "rapidly intensify" into a major storm in the next few days as it continues its path toward the East Coast where residents are preparing for the worst.
Florence could hit the southeastern U.S. coast late this week as a Category 3 or higher and bring upon life-threatening impacts. The hurricane is expected to make landfall between late Thursday and Friday morning.
"There is an increasing risk of two life-threatening impacts from Florence: storm surge at the coast and freshwater flooding from a prolonged heavy rainfall event inland," the National Hurricane Center said in an update at 11 a.m. (Read more)

Father God, we decree: that the hurricane named Florence will turn aside from land, to go out to sea and to diminish and disappear. In Jesus' name, we order that storm to touch no land and harm no people and no boats! Amen!

(Last) week's fake news is deeper than deep state
Last week was an excellent example of how fake news is created and a new-level false narrative results. It is a lesson in discernment for those who seek the truth. Jesus said in Matthew 24:4-5, "Take heed that no man deceive you." Ephesians 5:6, "Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of those things come the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience." And 2 Timothy 3 warns that in the last days there will be perilous times because people will be truce-breakers, false accusers, traitors and despisers of those that are good." It is very important that we not be tossed about by the falsehoods that are designed to break our faith, our freedom, and our joy in the Lord. This week is a clear test.
The godless want to have the form of godliness, but they deny the power thereof. They want to puff themselves up, shout the loudest, bully their will over those with whom they disagree, and silence those who oppose them. Follow the Democratic Party plan to oppose Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh. As admitted by leftist Illinois senator Dick Durbin, they had a plan to "protest" his nomination. That plan called for disrupting the Senate hearing, creating chaos, radical demonstrations resulting in arrests, and claiming the release of confidential documents that the Republicans were withholding. As it turned out, the brouhaha was contrived, as the documents were already cleared for release. But the stunt grabbed headlines on the false narrative that damning information was being withheld on Kavanaugh.
Then some Christians got all up in arms about Kavanaugh being unfit because he said Roe vs Wade is settled law in the nation. I read his statement. He was stating an obvious fact. Roe vs Wade is settled law in this nation and over 65 million unborn citizens have lost their lives over it. Kavanaugh has been coached well to state facts when asked these entrapping questions. I do not know if he would be my choice if I were president, probably not. But he is far better than anything the communist Democrats would choose. People, we need to read and listen with discernment, seek the truth and be aware of the underlying strategies so that we are not deceived. The Democratic response to Kavanaugh is disgraceful and unacceptable, and the news media reports are based off of a contrived, well-planned deception.
Similar is the so-called White House official who anonymously wrote an Op-Ed for the New York Times. Think about it. Democrat leadership and talking heads all across the mainstream media are using that Op-Ed as a reason to remove the president either by impeachment or because he is mentally unfit to serve. All this based on the talking points of the coup-makers written down in an editorial by an anonymous source. Coup-makers want to remove a president based on hearsay from someone who won't put their name to the accusations. The media irresponsibly has taken this fake news and made it the linchpin to removing an elected president from office. Again, this is well-planned and orchestrated deception. These are just two examples last week of how fake news is created and amplified to deceive many. It's deeper than deep state.

Australia Needs Our Prayers: If Current Christian Prime Minister Not Re-Elected, "Darkness and Persecution" Will Come, Say Church Leaders
Australia's new Prime Minister, Scott Morrison, made international headlines last week when news broke that he is a Pentecostal Christian-the first ever in Australian history.
In today's world, say many Christians, that's a recipe for social and spiritual war fare. And according to Pastor Adam F. Thompson of Voice of Fire Ministries in Adelaide, Australia, that's exactly what's happening-especially since Morrison will be up for election for another term in May.
Speaking last Sunday at Hope of City Church, Thompson said the Lord woke him up early that morning with a prophetic word.
"Scott Morrison, he's a born-again Christian," Thompson told the congregation. "He's probably one of the first ever born-again prime ministers, but it's not time to celebrate at the moment.
"This is a crucial time right now . . . In the next six months it's time for the Body of Christ to put its differences aside . . . and come together and agree that Jesus is the Messiah and start praying together and calling it in and praying for our prime minister right now, and for our government.

GREEN COMET MAKES CLOSEST APPROACH TO EARTH
On Sept. 10th, Comet 21P/Giacobini-Zinner ("21P" for short) will make its closest approach to Earth in 72 years--only 58 million km from our planet. This small but active comet is easy to see in small telescopes and binoculars as it shines like a 7th magnitude star.
The close approach coincides with a New Moon, providing a velvety-dark backdrop for the passage of the comet. The best time to look is during the dark hours before sunrise when the constellation Auriga is high in the eastern sky.
Shining just below the limit of naked-eye visibility, the comet will remain easy to photograph for the rest of September. If you can only mark one date on your calendar, however, make it Sept. 15th. On that night, 21P will cross directly through the middle of the star cluster M35 in the constellation Gemini. Astronomer Bob King writing for Sky and Telescope notes that "the binocular view should be unique with the rich cluster appearing to sprout a tail!"

To many rabbis, the Jewish leaders, and friends who are on the line, I am delighted to wish you Shana Tova, a sweet new year. And you'll have many others. We really enjoy being with you. It's something I enjoy each year. May you be inscribed in the Book of Life.
I send my warmest wishes to the Jewish people in the United States and around the world as we approach the High Holy Days.
The Jewish practice of reflection, atonement, and remembrance during this holy period not only strengthens Jewish communities, but inspires all Americans.
This afternoon, I want to express my deep admiration and gratitude for the extraordinary contributions of the Jewish people to the United States and to the world. . .
My connection to Judaism is also personal. I am the very proud father of a Jewish daughter, Ivanka, and my son-in-law, who I'm very proud of also-I will say that very loudly-Jared, and my several Jewish grandchildren, namely three beautiful Jewish grandchildren that I love.
