Today's Hearings: An On-site Report

Today's Hearings for Judge Brett Kavanaugh:

An On-site Report from the Senate Judiciary Committee Hearing Room

Dirksen Senate Office Building

Editor's note:

One of our CHPP prayer captains held watch today with many others from many other ministry teams, to see events unfold during the Senate hearings for Judge Kavanaugh. The following is her report.

From Barbara:

Here were some of my observations.

- While walking from Union Station to the Hart SOB when I first arrived, I passed a group of "protesters in training." A guy was coaching others in what to shout, etc. EX: "Kavanaugh is a right wing extremist!" - they were practicing there in the park behind the building.

- Then while we were waiting in line outside later, there was a group directly ahead of us who were very seedy looking characters - old - young - male - female. There was a woman with them handing out $20 bills if they promised to protest loudly! Most of them took the money.

- When we were finally seated inside the hearing room, we were seated in the back row. Policeman were lining the wall behind us and around the side of the room shoulder to shoulder. The row in front of us was filled with the protesters who had been ahead of us in line. And protest they did - It appeared that they all acted on cue - in sync with the media photographers directly in front of them - who stood up as they did with their ranting and raving to capture the action on film.

- I could not understand why the police tolerated the outbursts, because on the entry ticket there were very clear rules - one was: "Any individual causing a disruption of the committee's proceedings shall be removed immediately and subject to criminal arrest." But the police did not oust anyone until they had disrupted 3 times. And the opposition had so many people, only one person was evicted.

- The weather seemed to be a visual/spiritual depiction of what has going on in the hearing room... While we were standing outside waiting for our tickets, the blue sky overhead became partially filled with dark threatening looking thunderheads. It showered heavily for about 15-20 minutes. (fortunately we had a small shelter to stand under!) As I began my drive home, the darkness increased, including dramatic thunder and lightening - seemingly on top of me! But you could still see patches of blue sky through it all! It seemed to picture the war in the heavenlies that was taking place between darkness and light, good and evil!

Prayer Points from my observations:

- We need to speak the SHALOM of God into the hearing room (and over the committee and Judge Kavanaugh as well) - Shalom destroys the authority that is trying to bring chaos.

- We need to take authority over the manifesting spirits of anger, hatred, disruption, obstructionism and deception. - including the political spirit, Jezebel, and Leviathan (twisting, manipulation, and control)

- I found myself worshiping in the midst of the chaos . . . I kept declaring Psalm 24:7-10 over the room while I was there. And proclaiming the majesty and greatness of our God! -- After all, if God is for us - and we know He is - who can be against us?! LET GOD ARISE AND HIS ENEMIES BE SCATTERED!!

1. Massive Russian military maneuvers near Syria are delaying Israeli flights - World Israel News

Incoming and outgoing flights in Israel will be affected by the massive Russian military maneuvers off the Syrian coast, Israel's Airports Authority cautioned Tuesday.

The Airports Authority informed airlines that due to a Russian military exercise carried out in the eastern part of the Mediterranean basin, there may be changes in the flight routes in the Cyprus area that could affect international flight routes to and from Ben-Gurion International Airport, causing delays in landings and takeoffs, Ynet reported.

Syrian forces have been preparing for an onslaught on the Idlib province in the country, the last rebel stronghold, while the Russian military has been amassing unprecedented forces off the Syrian coast that would lend support to Assad.

2. Netanyahu: Israel Acts Against Threats That Have Not Yet Materialized - Jerusalem Post

Working on the principle of "seeing what is coming," Israel acts against far-away threats that have not yet reached the country's borders, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Tuesday in comments made more significant by reports that Iran has positioned missiles in Iraq. .

Reuters reported over the weekend that Iran had transferred short-range ballistic missiles to its Shia proxies in Iraq that are capable of reaching both Israel and Saudi Arabia.

"We live in a challenging area - and we can handle it," Netanyahu said at a pre-Rosh Hashanah toast in the Prime Ministers Office. The prime minister said that Israel strikes its enemies "when necessary," and is capable of "hitting them even harder."

"We defend our borders and we also deal with threats when they are farther away and have not yet reached us, within the framework of 'foreseeing 'what is coming,' - preempting evil. We do that," he said.

3. PLO, Jordan furious with Abbas over West Bank confederation scheme - Israel Hayom

Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas drew
harsh condemnation Monday after suggesting that the Palestinians were amenable to the possibility of establishing a confederation with Jordan in the West Bank, providing that Israel were party to such an agreement.

Abbas claimed Sunday that the idea was
broached during a meeting with senior U.S. envoys as part of Washington's efforts to promote the Israeli-Palestinian peace process, but the Trump administration dismissed the report.

Israeli, Palestinian and Jordanian officials also
dismissed the idea as being "inapplicable" at this time or any time in the future.

A senior Palestine Liberation Organization official
called the scheme "delusional," saying a Palestinian-Jordanian confederation was "a wet dream for extreme right-wing elements in Israel."

4. Iran admits: Regime working with Soros organization - Israel National News

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Zarif said Sunday that the Iranian government has worked closely with billionaire George Soros' Open Society Foundations (OSF) organization.

Zarif made the remarks in response to questions raised in the Iranian parliament. According to Zarif, the activity began before he entered his current position, and he boasted that he had succeeded in "keeping the activity organized."

OSF has funded a number of far-left organizations in Israel which seek to change the policy of Israel's government.

According to NGO Monitor, among the top beneficiaries of OSF funding is Human Rights Watch, which has been criticized for targeting, and falsely libeling, the state of Israel. Another is J Street, which describes itself as "pro-Israel" but has been termed anti-Israel by others for, among other things, welcoming proponents of a boycott on Israel at its national conference and honoring IDF soldiers who refused orders.

5. PA blasts Jerusalem Mayor's plan to expel UNRWA - Israel National News

Palestinian Authority (PA) cabinet chief Rami Hamdallah on Tuesday condemned Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat's plan to expel UNRWA from the Shuafat neighborhood of the city and replace the services it provides with those of the municipality.

Speaking at a cabinet meeting in Ramallah, Hamdallah said that Barkat's remarks amounted to contempt for the international community, international institutions and international law.

The Barkat plan, he charged, is intended to deliberately harm the "Palestinian refugees" and their rights under international law, and is the result of the American political, legal and financial backing for Israel, which encourages it to continue its "aggression" against the "helpless" Palestinian people.

Earlier on Tuesday, Barkat reiterated Monday's announcement of his intention to expel UNRWA organization from Jerusalem.

In a tweet, Barkat wrote: "I am removing UNRWA from Jerusalem and replacing their failing services with successful municipal initiatives. Wherever the municipality operates, the Arab public is more satisfied & less violent. Removing UNRWA will reduce incitement & terrorism, and promote unity & sovereignty."

The Daily Brief

1. Brett Kavanaugh's full remarks capping first day of Supreme Court confirmation hearings - Washington Examiner [Excerpt]

I thank President Trump for the honor of this nomination. As a judge and as a citizen, I was deeply impressed by the president's careful attention to the nomination process and by his thorough consideration of potential nominees. I am also very grateful for his courtesy. At the White House on the night of the announcement, the President and Mrs. Trump were very gracious to my daughters, my wife, and my parents. My family will always cherish that night - or as my daughter Liza calls it, her debut on national television.

As a nominee to the Supreme Court, I understand the responsibility I bear. Some 30 years ago, Judge Anthony Kennedy sat in this seat. He became one of the most consequential Justices in American history. I served as his law clerk in 1993. To me, Justice Kennedy is a mentor, a friend, and a hero. As a member of the court, he was a model of civility and collegiality. He fiercely defended the independence of the Judiciary. And he was a champion of liberty. If you had to sum up Justice Kennedy's entire career in one word . . . "liberty." Justice Kennedy established a legacy of liberty for ourselves and our posterity.

I am optimistic about the future of America and the future of our independent Judiciary. I revere the Constitution. If confirmed to the Supreme Court, I will keep an open mind in every case. I will do equal right to the poor and to the rich. I will always strive to preserve the Constitution of the United States and the American Rule of Law.(Read on)

- Father, we pray Brett Kavanaugh will receive a fair inquiry. Surround him with Your peace and help him to truly express himself throughout these hearings.

- The Lord gives strength to his people; the Lord blesses his people with peace.
(Psalm 29:11)

2. Durbin Confirms Dems Held Meeting About Disrupting Kavanaugh Hearing - Free Beacon

Sen. Dick Durbin (D., Ill.) confirmed on Tuesday that Democratic senators held a meeting over the weekend about disrupting the hearings for President Donald Trump's Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh. NBC news reported Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D., N.Y.) led a phone call with fellow Democratic senators prior to the start of Kavanaugh's hearing. "Democrats plotted coordinated protest strategy over the holiday weekend and all agreed to disrupt and protest the hearing, sources tell me and @frankthorp," NBC reporter Kasie Hunt tweeted.

After numerous interruptions and arguments between members of the committee, Sen. Thom Tillis (R., N.C.) asked his Democratic colleagues if their opposition to holding the hearing was really about the documents or part of their strategy to delay and protest Kavanaugh's hearing.

"Mr. Chairman, there was a phone conference yesterday and I can tell you at the time of the phone conference many issues were raised. One of the issues was the fact that over 100,000 documents related to Judge Kavanaugh have been characterized by the chairman of the committee as confidential," Durbin responded. Durbin didn't deny the allegation that the phone call included a strategy to protest the hearing. (Read more)

- Father, we thank You for exposing the plans to protest and interrupt this hearing. We pray fair-minded people will find out about this scheme and hold the Democrats accountable.

- But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you. (Matthew 5:44)

3. Almost Two Dozen Protesters Arrested At Kavanaugh Hearing, Women's March Vows To Disrupt 'Every Few Minutes' - Daily Wire

"Capitol Hill police say they arrested almost two dozen protesters who disrupted Brett Kavanaugh's confirmation hearing on Tuesday," reports Politico. "The demonstrators were initially charged with disorderly conduct." Most of the unruly protesters were women, many of whom were lamenting that Kavanaugh would take away abortion rights or outlaw homosexuality. The Women's March also promised to disrupt the Kavanaugh hearings "every few minutes," boasting that they have "hundreds of women" ready to get arrested for the cause.

"Beginning September 4th, a coalition of 20 women's organizations will gather in Washington, D.C. to look our Senators in the eye and remind them that women across America are watching," the group said in a statement. "We're picking up where the fierce women who came before us left off." (Read more)

- Father, we lift up these misguided young women and pray they would have an experience with Your Holy Spirit, delivering them from fear and lies about judge Kavanaugh.

- "So He said to them, "This kind can come out by nothing but prayer and fasting." (Mark 9:29)

4. Kavanaugh's daughters rushed out of chaotic, 'hot' hearing - Washington Examiner

As Democratic senators fought to delay the hearing of Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, and as spectators jarringly heckled the process Tuesday, his two young daughters were rushed from the hearing room, according to sources. The two, Margaret and Liza, were taken out by their mother, Ashley, as the hearing got "hot," said one insider. "It was very unpleasant for young children," said the insider.

At the beginning of the Senate Judiciary Committee hearing for the federal appeals court judge, senators angrily battled over the process. And at times hecklers in the audience shouted out, apparently scaring the young girls there to support their father. One screamed, "This is a mockery. This is a travesty of justice. Cancel Brett Kavanaugh, adjourn the hearing." Margaret is 13, Elizabeth 10. (Read more)

- Father, we pray this incident will open judge Kavanaugh's eyes to the fact that our nation will not be safe for our children if the left regains the levers of power. If he is to be confirmed, we pray this event will influence his jurisprudence to protect freedom of speech, religious liberty and the rights of the unborn.

"Far be it from You to do such a thing, to slay the righteous with the wicked, so that the righteous and the wicked are treated alike. Far be it from You! Shall not the Judge of all the earth deal justly?" (Genesis 18:25)

5. Trump Says Anti-Kavanaugh Protestors Are 'An Embarrassment To The Country' - Daily Caller

President Donald Trump criticized protestors who interrupted his Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh's confirmation hearing Tuesday in an exclusive Oval Office interview with The Daily Caller.

"I'm amazed that people allow the interruptions to continue," Trump said of the multiple protestors who interrupted the first day of the proceedings, adding, "There [are] some people that just keep screaming."

"In the old days, we used to throw them out. Today, I guess they just keep screaming. To allow somebody to stand up and scream from the top of their lungs - and nobody does anything about it - is, frankly . . . I think it is an embarrassment." (Read more)

- Lord God Almighty in heaven, we join forces tonight to BIND the spirit of anarchy that was released in the Senate Committee hearing room today, and to LOOSE the spirit of SHALOM over these proceedings. We thank You, Lord God, that the enemy has now overplayed his hand, and that the nation can no longer deny that there are those among us who wish to destroy our nation. We ask You to forgive each protestor (and those to come), for they know NOT what they do. Come Lord Jesus, we pray. Let Your light shine in their darkness, bringing them to salvation, in Your name, amen.

- "And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose." (Romans 8:28)

6. Former US Sen. Jon Kyl Named as McCain's Replacement in US Senate - CBN News

Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey is naming former US Sen. Jon Kyl as the late Sen. John McCain's replacement in the US Senate. Ducey made the announcement during a press conference Tuesday afternoon, noting that the people of Arizona needed someone who could "hit the ground running."

If the timing works out, Kyl could participate in the vote on whether to confirm Brett Kavanaugh to the US Supreme Court. In fact, he's been one of Kavanaugh's champions, working to guide his nomination through the Senate. Kyl is considered a solid conservative on many issues.

Kyl will have the option to hold the Arizona Senate seat until the next general election in 2020, but it's unclear if he'll stay in the post that long. The GOP is hoping Kyl will be a more reliable Republican vote than McCain was. McCain's opposition to repealing Obamacare was just one of many problematic moments for the Republican Party. (Read more)

- Father, we pray Jon Kyl will represent the people of Arizona well and lend the strength of his experience to help the Republicans move legislation and appointments through the Senate.

- Where there are no oxen, the manger is empty, but from the strength of an ox come abundant harvests. (Proverbs 14:4)

7. The hidden gems of the US-Mexico trade deal - The Hill

There are new provisions relating to digital content protections, intellectual property (IP) rights, trade secret safeguards and most notably, IP theft by state-sponsored enterprises. The term "state-sponsored enterprises" appears to be a clear reference to China. And it should act as a signal to China.

Trade negotiations with China currently sit in limbo. This agreement suggests that rather than waiting for a change of heart from Chinese leadership or push for updated World Trade Organization (WTO) rules, which would likely take years and are uncertain to succeed, the U.S. could address the unique challenge of the Chinese system indirectly through its own trade-partner agreements.

In a sense, the U.S. could upgrade what is perceived to be the standard for fair dealing in today's technology-driven world. If a country wants a good trade relationship with the world's biggest market (the U.S.), it will need to adhere to modernized rules of fair play - particularly as they pertain to intellectual property. The world has changed, and it's time trade agreements caught up. (Read more)

- Father, we pray for the finalization of the new and improved trade deal with Mexico and Canada. May this be a template for future deals with other nations.

- For I say to you, that to everyone who has will be given; and from him who does not have, even what he has will be taken away from him. (Luke 19:26)

8. China's Most Dangerous Geopolitical Weapon - American Thinker

The Obama years may have allowed China to infringe on American global power, but under Trump, the tide is turning. As governments around the world watch China's expanding reach with a sense of resignation, the president has signed into law a bill promising to restrict foreign investment in the U.S.

Under the Foreign Investment Risk Review Modernization Act, the U.S. government has added a powerful tool to block other countries -- namely China -- from buying up or funneling money into U.S. companies. This is directly protecting vital strategic assets and know-how.

The new investment law is a big step toward shielding the U.S. from dangerous Chinese intrusions on our home soil. Such guardianship has been long awaited by those with an eye on national security: in 2015 and 2016, Beijing's corporations went on an overseas acquisitions spree that concluded with multibillion dollar deals throughout the U.S. while the Obama administration stood idly by and let the buyout occur. U.S. intelligence has long classified Chinese firms as security risks, raising concerns that China is able to access technologies underpinning American military might and economic power. (Read more)

- Father, we pray this Foreign Investment Risk Review Modernization Act will effectively limit the investments of foreign nations and deter them from acquiring technology vital to our national security.

- Whoever fears the Lord has a secure fortress, and for their children it will be a refuge. (Proverbs 14:26)

9. House votes to let foreign governments screen terrorist suspects against US databases - Washington Examiner

House lawmakers on Monday evening passed a bipartisan bill that would allow the government to provide training and biometric technology to allied countries so that suspected terrorists, gang members, and other criminals traveling to the U.S. through areas known for human smuggling can be detected and arrested on foreign soil prior to illegally entering America.

House Homeland Security Chairman Michael McCaul said his Biometric Identification Transnational Migration Alert Program Authorization Act of 2018 would allow the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's Homeland Security Investigations office to provide training and equipment to friendly nations. The program, known as BITMAP, was created in 2011 and has identified terrorists, criminals, drug smugglers, human traffickers, murderers, child predators, and gang members while they were traveling to the U.S.

"We've stopped hundreds of known or suspected terrorists from trying to enter the United States under this tried and true program," McCaul said in a House speech Tuesday arguing in support of the program's expansion. The bill, which passed 272-119, also includes language in support of ICE in the midst of recent calls by some Democratic lawmakers to abolish the agency. (Read more)

- Father, we pray this bill will successfully help international law enforcement remove criminals from our populations. We also pray it will include safeguards to prevent abuse and not be used to target or limit the freedom of political enemies.

- You have removed all the wicked of the earth like dross; Therefore I love Your testimonies. (Psalm 119:119)

10. Trump Has Changed How Teens View the News - The Atlantic

Teenagers, in particular, appear to be increasingly questioning the credibility and value of traditional media organizations. In interviews with The Atlantic, teens expressed great skepticism about the accuracy of the mainstream media, reiterated Trump's biased characterization of many news sources, and said the president's outrageous tweets have become so much a part of everyday life that they've morphed into catchphrases.

"I don't believe there [are] any neutral news organizations," said Emma Neely, a 19-year-old in Tennessee. "Each writer and editor has their own personal bias. What they write, even if it's a little biased, it's still biased."

Angie, a 16-year-old in New York, agreed. She contends that Trump's comments have revealed to people that the news media cannot be trusted. "I think this whole phenomenon has given teens awareness that bias exists and things are not what they seem," she said. (Read more)

- Father, thank You for helping our young people see through the media manipulation and lies. We pray they will seek truth and integrity and use their influence for good.

- Then our mouth was filled with laughter and our tongue with joyful shouting; then they said among the nations, "The Lord has done great things for them."
(Psalm 126:2)

11. Syria Idlib: Trump warns of 'grave humanitarian mistake' - BBC

US President Donald Trump has warned the Syrian government and its Russian and Iranian allies against "recklessly" attacking rebel-held Idlib province. In a tweet he warned of "a grave humanitarian mistake" in which hundreds of thousands of people could be killed. Syrian government forces are said to be preparing a huge offensive on the last major rebel stronghold in the country. The UN says such a campaign could have disastrous consequences for the almost three million civilians living there.

With rebel forces defeated in most of Syria, the offensive in the north-western province could prove to be the last major battle of the seven-year civil war. There are believed to be up to 30,000 rebel and jihadist fighters in Idlib. Syrian Foreign Minister Walid Muallem has declared that the government's priority is to "liberate" Idlib. His Russian counterpart, Sergei Lavrov, has said Syria's government has every right to "liquidate the terrorist threat on its territory", accusing jihadists of using civilians as human shields.

The US state department also warned on Monday that Washington would respond to any chemical attacks by the Syrian government or its allies. US ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley tweeted: "All eyes on the actions of Assad, Russia, and Iran in Idlib. #NoChemicalWeapons" The government has repeatedly denied ever using chemical weapons. Mr Lavrov has also claimed that fighters in Idlib are preparing to stage chemical weapons attacks in order to blame the Syrian government. (Read more)

- Father, it seems a great humanitarian crisis and use of chemical weapons are in the balance. We pray this disaster will be averted and You will deliver the people of Syria from war.

- The Lord said, "Surely I will deliver you for a good purpose; surely I will make your enemies plead with you in times of disaster and times of distress. (Jeremiah 15:11)

Your prophetic plan amidst these times

There are many events taking place around us that would be frightening in of themselves-devastating storms and earthquakes; the threat of terrorism; political disruption; the ongoing and increasing civil unrest-just to name a few. Some of this uncertainty has prompted many to ask the age old question, "Does God have a plan for my life?" The answer is yes, yes He does. You should be encouraged because you are born a unique individual who is loved by the Creator of the universe, and He wants to see you experience joy, happiness, love and success. But often the toils of this world cause us concern and get in the way.

For example, throughout my life, I have had ups and downs that caused me to question God's plan for my life. But it was really me that was the question. God knows how you were made as confirmed by Psalm 139:14, "I will praise thee for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvelous are thy works; and that my soul knows right well." Jesus said in Matthew 10:30, "But the very hairs of your head are all numbered." And God knows what is best for you and He has in mind the very best for you. Through the Apostle Paul, God tells us in Romans 12:2, "be not conformed to this world: but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God."

See, even when we allow our own selves to get in the way of God's plan, it is still there for us. And we can fall into the deepest valley, the darkest time of our life, and God will be there for us. He said in Isaiah 46:4, "And even to your old age I am He; and even to hoar hairs will I carry you; I have made, and I will bear; even I will carry and deliver you." So no matter how low you are or how much the world is closing in on you, the Lord God, your Salvation, is with you. And His plan for you is perfect. So you do have a destiny. You were created to glorify God. That is your purpose. How you accomplish that is your calling.

I knew that God had called me to evangelize when I was 16. I refused the calling and pursued my own earthly goals. And the Lord brought me to a point, after much life experience, that I could no longer ignore His calling. But then I heard nothing from Him. I had to seek Him, pour out my heart to Him in fasting and prayer. And even that did not work until after 54 days when I finally had my answer to discern the times and events and call people to the Lord. My point is that we often do wonder what God has in mind for us, but in order to find out, we must seek God with all our heart, mind and soul, even sometimes to the point of travail, so He knows we are serious. So don't give up, press in. Press in hard. For your destiny is at hand.

Have a Blessed and Powerful Day!

THE OLD RUGGED CROSS

"But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world."
(Galatians 6:14)

Lyrics

On a hill far away stood an old rugged cross,
The emblem of suff'ring and shame,
And I love that old cross where the Dearest and Best
For a world of lost sinners was slain.

Refrain:

So I'll cherish the old rugged cross,
Till my trophies at last I lay down;
I will cling to the old rugged cross,
And exchange it some day for a crown.

Oh, that old rugged cross, so despised by the world,
Has a wondrous attraction for me;
For the dear Lamb of God left His glory above,
To bear it to dark Calvary.

Refrain

In the old rugged cross, stained with blood so divine,
A wondrous beauty I see;
For 'twas on that old cross Jesus suffered and died,
To pardon and sanctify me.

Refrain

Tropical Storm Gordon to Landfall as a Hurricane Tonight
Along the Northern Gulf Coast

Hurricane, Storm Surge Warnings Issued

Tropical Storm Gordon is quickly heading toward a landfall tonight along the northern Gulf Coast as a Category 1 hurricane.

The National Hurricane Center has issued a hurricane warning from the mouth of the Pearl River, Mississippi, to the border between Alabama and Florida.

A hurricane warning means hurricane-force winds (74-plus mph) are expected in the area indicated beginning this evening.

Tropical storm warnings are posted from west of the mouth of the Pearl River, Mississippi, to east of Morgan City, Louisiana, including Lake Pontchartrain and Lake Maurepas, as well as from the Alabama-Florida border to the Okaloosa-Walton County line in Florida.

- Father God, we bring before You today this storm, which is now raging along our Gulf Coast. We ask the You keep all safe who are in the path of Hurricane Gordon, and that You would move to lessen its impact. We decree that this storm, unlike others in past history, will NOT suddenly "explode" at the last minute into a Category 5 event, but rather dissipate under Your Mighty Hand. We offer this prayer in Jesus' name, amen.

- "Then He got up and rebuked the winds and the sea, and it became perfectly calm. The men were amazed, and said, "What kind of a man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey Him?" (Matthew 8:26,27)

"I will show wonders in the heavens above and signs on the earth below, blood and fire and billows of smoke." (Acts 2:19)

Prophecy Revealed as Nations Recognize Sanhedrin

"And the many peoples shall go and say: "Come, Let us go up to the Mount of Hashem, To the House of the God of Yaakov; That He may instruct us in His ways, And that we may walk in His paths." For instruction shall come forth from Tzion, The word of Hashem from Yerushalayim." (Isaiah 2:3)

On Monday night, approximately one thousand people gathered at the foot of the Temple Mount for the World Creation Concert. However, what took place was not merely wonderful music accompanied by a spectacular light show: the event actually encapsulated several prophetic incidents taking place at once. In the not-so-distant future, the event may be identified as the moment a new, Biblically correct United Nations was established, potentially leading to a new era of global cooperation.

The Sanhedrin and the Mikdash (Temple) Educational Center hosted the World Creation Concert at the Jerusalem Archaeological Park - Davidson Center, arranging for it to take place one day before the 25th of the Hebrew month of Elul, the 5778th anniversary of the creation of the world according to Jewish tradition. The motive behind the timing was to give the event universal significance. The Temple Mount was chosen as the location because, according to Jewish tradition, the creation of the world began at the even shtiya (foundation stone) that lay under the Holy of Holies in the Temple.
The connection between the Temple and the creation of the world was beautifully presented throughout the concert. The music followed the six-days of creation with some sections accompanied by choral presentations of Psalms that mirrored that particular aspect of creation. The creation of light was played while images of the gold menorah were projected onto the ancient walls. The creation of the oceans was accompanied by images of the Sea of Solomon, the brass laver that was used to wash the hands and feet of the priests before they performed the Temple service.
Perhaps the most powerful image was also the most low-tech element. At several points during the performance, the musicians rested their instruments while Kohanim (Jewish male descendants of Aaron the priest) mounted the ramparts in full priestly garb. The blasts of shofarot (rams' horns) and silver trumpets prepared for use in the Third Temple echoed in the night, recreating the glory of the Temple as it appeared 2,000 years ago.
One non-musical element of the concert was powerfully prophetic. For several months preceding the event, the Sanhedrin had worked to contact foreign governments, inviting them to take their place as representatives of the 70 nations who populated the world, listed in the Bible as the grandsons of Noah. Honduras, Guatemala and Mexico answered the call, sending high-ranking delegations to attend.
"We are seeing the end of the UN, as the US and Israel separate themselves from it, "Rabbi Weiss said. "The United Nations should have collapsed long ago but it has drawn power from its decision to establish the State of Israel in 1948."
The Biblical Sanhedrin in Jerusalem was a gathering point for universal cooperation and justice. The high-point of the concert came when the foreign representatives went up to the stage to sign an agreement with the Sanhedrin.

By signing, the nations acknowledged that they were answering a call by the Sanhedrin of Israel to accompany the people of God, as peoples, nations, and individuals toward establishing the Temple in Jerusalem as a house of prayer for all nations as prophesied in the Bible. (Breaking Israel News)

"I will bring them to My sacred mount And let them rejoice in My house of prayer. Their burnt offerings and sacrifices Shall be welcome on My mizbayach; For My House shall be called A house of prayer for all peoples." (Isaiah 56:7)

About CHPP

About Capitol Hill Prayer Partners

Our Mission Statement

Capitol Hill Prayer Partners (CHPP) is a ministry which is positioned on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., helping members of the Body of Christ to "pray for those in authority over us" in our federal government. Our primary purpose is to offer intercession on site for the members of Congress and their staffs each day that the Senate and the House of Representatives are in session; and our chief prayer focus is that "God's will be done in earth, as it is in heaven." [Matthew 6:10].

Because Jesus Christ has shed His blood for all, we, too, pray for ALL, in a nonpartisan manner. Also, because the scriptures indicate that "the effectual, fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much" (James 4:17), we are confident that fervent prayer, offered in the halls of the highest chambers of government in our land, can avail much for America. Capitol Hill Prayer Partners welcomes those who feel called to join us, engaging in this strategic work of intercession for our nation: "For there is no power but of God; the powers that be are ordained of God." [Romans 13:1]
