A Note to our Readers

A Note to our Readers:

Another "Midnight Publication" Tonight!

Dear Friends,

Once again, we feel to not hold off until our normal publication schedule at 5:00 a.m. today, due to several breaking developments as follows:

1. President Trump's speech at the United Nations to advance religious freedom worldwide will be aired, live stream, by the White House. Please listen in and pray for President Trump as he makes this groundbreaking move for religious freedom at the global level, later today. President Trump will speak at 11:30 a.m. today. To hear his address, go here.

2. According to a report released on Sunday by Israel National News, the 'Deal of the Century' is to be significantly delayed. Please see our Israel section, below, for details.

3. A major strike is planned today in Washington, D.C., as protestors for global climate change march on the streets of the city, intending to tie up traffic here all morning.

Shut Down D.C. aims to block "key infrastructure to stop business-as-usual, bringing the whole city to a gridlocked standstill," organizers said on their website. That includes over a dozen intersections in the District "where corporate and government power holders who are blocking serious action on climate are located," they said.
The coordinated set of blockades to shut down DC will take place on the same day as the UN Climate Summit in New York City. . . As climate activist Greta Thunberg and other youth climate leaders speak at the United Nations in New York, hundreds of DC metro area residents - health workers, migrant justice activists, people of faith, trans people, college students, peace activists, among others - will shut down the capital.
> > > To learn more about the planned strike in D.C., go here.
To learn more about the global agenda, go here.
- Let us pray: "Father God, we come before Your Throne of Grace, and we ask You to forgive the organizers and the youth that plan to be involved in these strikes, for they know not what they do. Have mercy, O Lord, we pray.

We come against the spirit of rebellion (which is as witchcraft) that is at the root of these actions, and we ask that our youth be set free to walk in truth, and to come to know You as their Savior and their Lord. We ask this in Your Name, amen.

- "May God arise, may his enemies be scattered; may his foes flee before him."
(Psalm 68:1)

Focus on Israel

1. 'Deal of the Century' to be significantly delayed - Israel National News

In the weeks before the elections, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and other senior officials estimated that the so-called "Deal of the Century", as the US peace plan for Israel and the Palestinian Authority (PA) has come to be known, will be published very close to election day.

A senior US official told Arutz Sheva on Sunday, however, that the results of the election and the uncertainty they have created in Israel will cause a significant delay in the publication of the plan.

"There is a different situation here and there may be a fundamentally different government than the one we have been working with in recent years. There is also no certainty that the Prime Minister will be the same person who is currently in office.

Therefore, further examination of the situation will be required and the publication of the peace plan will be significantly delayed," said the senior official.

The official declined to set a date, but said the plan would not be published within a matter of weeks and also predicted it would not happen in 2019.

2. Lapid: Bibi Is Trying to Drag the Country Into a Third Election - Jerusalem Online

Representatives of the Blue and White party are saying that a new government cannot be established with Netanyahu.

Yair Lapid, Blue and Whites "number 2" politician, made it clear that a unity government could be established if Bibi steps aside, insisting that Netanyahu "is attempting to drag the country into a third election".

Avigdor Lieberman, the leader of Yisrael Beiteinu, who upset the fragile balance of power in the Knesset in May which forced Netanyahu to announce a second election in the same year, urged the prime minister to reach a compromise with Gantz.

With 98 percent of the votes counted, the the Blue and White party is holding the lead with 33 out of 120 seats in the Knesset, while Likud has gained 31 seats. The centre-left political coalition led by WHite and Blue and the Likud-led right-wing bloc have 57 and 55 seats respectively, falling short of passing the 61-seat majority threshold.

3. Joint List Endorses Gantz Without Balad, Giving Netanyahu Majority - Jerusalem Post

President Reuven Rivlin began his consultations toward forming a new government on Sunday, amid a historic move by most of the Joint List to recommend a candidate for prime minister and a controversial decision by Blue and White to not seek the first chance at building a coalition.

Blue and White had decided on Thursday that the party preferred to get the mandate from Rivlin first, but politicians and strategists in the party changed their minds after realizing that neither Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, nor Blue and White leader Benny Gantz would succeed in forming a government if given the first shot. Hints from Attorney-General Avichai Mandelblit's office that the pace of Netanyahu's criminal cases would be picked up also influenced the decision.

Rivlin told representatives of Likud and Blue and White that he would demand the formation of a unity government of both parties, but he did not indicate which party would go first. The earliest he could present his mandate is Wednesday evening, after the results of the September 17 election become official.

4. Netanyahu Calls On Gantz To Form Unity- Jerusalem Post

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu hinted that he may be willing to have a rotation agreement for the premiership with Blue and White leader Benny Gantz, in his remarks at a memorial service for former prime minister Shimon Peres.

"Let's cooperate like Peres and [former prime minister Yitzhak] Shamir," Netanyahu said.

Peres and Shamir had a rotation agreement after the 1984 election, when neither could form a coalition without the other. Peres was prime minister until 1986, when Shamir replaced him. This was the first and only such agreement in Israel's history.

Netanyahu and Gantz were also spotted shaking hands at the service.

The prime minister's remarks came shortly after he made his first call for Likud and Blue and White to form a coalition together, along with the Likud's religious-right partners of recent years.

5. Liberman denies Gantz deal, says will be fine sitting in opposition or coalition - Times Of Israel

Yisrael Beytenu party leader Avigdor Liberman on Friday denied that he has any kind of agreement with Blue and White leader Benny Gantz, saying his party would be fine either joining a coalition or sitting in opposition. Addressing a Channel 13 report that Gantz would take Yisrael Beytenu into any coalition, Liberman wrote on Facebook that a reported agreement under which Blue and White will not join a coalition without him "does not exist," adding that, "we will get along fine in either the coalition or in the opposition." Liberman also said that he has spoken to neither Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu nor Gantz, and does not intend to do so ahead of his Sunday meeting with Reuven Rivlin where he will tell the president who he recommends be tasked with forming a government.

8. Pro-Iran PMU forces take over Iraq's Saudi, Jordanian borders, threaten Israel from the east - DEBKAfile

Iran was on its next move by the time the US announced on Sept. 21 the deployment of more troops and enhanced air and missile defense systems for Saudi Arabia and the UAE in response to the attack on Saudi oil facilities. As the USS Nitze destroyer deployed to the northern Red Sea opposite the Saudi coast, armed with Aegis combat systems for tracking and intercepting cruise missiles, Iraqi Shiite Population Mobilization Forces (PMU) swarmed up to Iraq's borders with Saudi Arabia and Jordan.

Washington's cautious response to the attack on Saudi Arabia and US sanctions were met by Iranian aggression in full momentum and its heightened threat to Saudi Arabia and US allies. By posting its Iraqi proxy PMU forces on the two border regions, Tehran directly threatens the Saudi capital Riyadh from the north and Israel from the east. . . the PMU's double border takeover began on Sept 18 and was in place by Saturday. Sept. 21.

(Read the full report here.)
> > > The following prayer request is offered by a brother who lives in Israel:
Isaiah 17 war is now at Israel's doorstep. Troop, tanks, missiles, are all being moved to the borders of Jordan and Saudi Arabia, and will soon threaten both nations, Israel, and US forces in the Middle East.

It is time to stand with Israel and America, because a time of testing, physically, spiritually, and politically is at our doorstep! Israel has been unable to elect and form a government now for months, and Iran and their allies smell weakness!

It is a time to pray for God's hand to be on Israel and America's leaders and armed forces. One mistake by either side can cause the Middle East to go up in flames in an instant. Understand this will affect all nations, because the blood that flows through the veins of the western world is oil, consequently if Iran, Iraq, and Saudi Arabia become involved in a war involving Israel and the US, the world's economy is going to be turned upside down in an instant!

Watch and pray fervently!!!!

PSALM 83

The Daily Brief

1. Iran warns of 'all-out war' if US retaliates in wake of Saudi oil facility bombings - Fox News

Iran warned Thursday that an "all-out war" could break out if any country attacks it following weekend bombings of Saudi Arabia's oil facilities that the U.S. believes Tehran orchestrated.

Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif's stark message to CNN comes a day after U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo tweeted that the "Iranian regime's threatening behavior will not be tolerated."

"I am making a very serious statement that we don't want to engage in a military confrontation," Zarif said in an interview with the channel. "But we won't blink to defend our territory."

When asked what would be the consequence of a U.S. or Saudi strike, Zarif said: "All-out war. It would cause "a lot of casualties," he added. (Read more)

- Father God, we lift up Iran before Your judgment seat and trust they will reap their bombing of Saudi's oil facility. Strengthen the force of the United States' retaliation against Iran. Protect America, Lord. We pray in the Name of Jesus.

- "But we are sure that the judgement of God is according to truth against them which commit such things." (Romans 2:2)

2. US military presenting range of options to Trump on Iran - Times of Israel

WASHINGTON (AP) - The Pentagon will present a broad range of military options to US President Donald Trump on Friday as he considers how to respond to what administration officials say was an unprecedented Iranian attack on Saudi Arabia's oil industry.

In a White House meeting, the president will be presented with a list of potential airstrike targets inside Iran, among other possible responses, and he also will be warned that military action against the Islamic Republic could escalate into war, according to US officials familiar with the discussions who spoke on condition of anonymity.

Both Pompeo and Vice President Mike Pence have condemned the attack on Saudi oil facilities as "an act of war." Pence said Trump will "review the facts, and he'll make a decision about next steps. But the American people can be confident that the United States of America is going to defend our interest in the region, and we're going to stand with our allies."

The US response could involve military, political and economic actions, and the military options could range from no action at all to airstrikes or less visible moves such as cyberattacks. (Read more)

- Father God, empower President Trump and the United States with wisdom, knowledge and understanding of following God's perfect will regarding taking action against Iran. Protect America. We pray in the Name of Jesus.

- "With them is an arm of flesh; but with us is the Lord our God to help us, and to fight our battles." (2 Chronicles 32:8)

3. U.S. to deploy military forces to Saudi Arabia, UAE after attacks on oil sites - NBC News

The United States is deploying military forces to the Middle East after Saturday's drone attacks on major oil sites in Saudi Arabia that the administration of President Donald Trump has blamed on Iran.

"The president has approved the deployment of U.S. forces which will be defensive in nature and primarily focused on air and missile defense," U.S. Secretary of Defense Mark Esper said at a news conference Friday.

Answering reporters' questions about the deployment, Gen. Joseph F. Dunford Jr., chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, described the troop deployment as "modest" and "not thousands." (Read more)

- Father in heaven, we pray for Your protection to be over each and every American deployed to Saudi Arabia after Iran's attacks on oil sites. Defeat the powers of darkness, Lord. We pray in the Name of Jesus.

- "Through God will we push down our enemies: through Your Name will we tread them under that rise up against us" (Psalm 44:5)

4. US issues visas to Iranian leaders for UN General Assembly - Israel National News

The United States on Thursday issued visas allowing Iranian President Hassan Rouhani and Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif to travel to New York for the UN General Assembly.

Iranian UN mission spokesman Alireza Miryousefi confirmed to the Reuters news agency that the US visas had been issued.

On Wednesday, US President Donald Trump was asked about the issue and said that if it were up to him, the two Iranian leaders would be granted visas.

"I would let them come. If it was up to me, I would let them come," Trump told reporters before departing Los Angeles aboard Air Force One. (Read more)

- Lord God, we trust that the Iranian leaders who were given US visas will have no power over the meeting but will be brought under the strong leadership of the United States and rendered penalized for their attacks on US oil in Saudi Arabia. We pray in the Name of Jesus.

"For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places." (Ephesians 6:12)

5. Hezbollah Scout Targeting Locations in U.S. Cities - Epoch Times

A New Jersey man has been charged for allegedly scoping out locations across several U.S. cities including New York City as potential targets for terror attacks on behalf of Hezbollah, the Justice Department (DOJ) said in a statement.

Alexei Saab, 42, also known as Ali Hassan Saab, Alex Saab, or Rachid, was charged with nine counts for offenses related to his support for the terrorist group along with separate marriage-fraud offenses. Saab's indictment and a complaint were unsealed at a Manhattan federal court on Thursday, Sept. 19.

Saab, who lawfully entered the United States using a Lebanese passport in 2000, is accused of surveilling and providing intelligence to Hezbollah on dozens of buildings in locations across New York City and other American cities, such as on the United Nations headquarters, the Statue of Liberty, Rockefeller Center, Times Square, the Empire State Building, as well as local airports, tunnels, and bridges, according to the DOJ.

"According to the allegations, while living in the United States, Saab served as an operative of Hizballah and conducted surveillance of possible target locations in order to help the foreign terrorist organization prepare for potential future attacks against the United States," Assistant Attorney General for National Security John C. Demers said in the statement.

"Such covert activities conducted on U.S. soil are a clear threat to our national security and I applaud the agents, analysts, and prosecutors who are responsible for this investigation and prosecution," Demers added. (Read more)

[Also reported by Intercessors for America]

- Lord God Almighty, we thank You for protecting our nation. We pray that You will continue to enable U.S. authorities to thwart terrorist plans.

- "I will send my terror ahead of you and throw into confusion every nation you encounter. I will make all your enemies turn their backs and run." (Exodus 23:27)

6. HHS: Number of Unaccompanied Alien Children Entering US Reaches Highest in History - CNSNews.com

The number of unaccompanied children (UACs) entering the United States during fiscal year 2019 has grown to levels never seen before, Jonathan Hayes, director of the HHS's Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR), told Congress on Thursday. According to his written testimony before the House Energy and Commerce Committee, DHS referred more than 67,000 UACs to ORR as of Sept. 16, 2019, which is the highest number in the program's history.

At the moment, HHS has less than 6,000 UACs in its care, but the number fluctuates on a daily basis, Hayes said. "The number of children in our care is down from a recent high of over 13,700 just a few months ago in June. This decline is due to a decrease in daily referrals over the last few months, and ORR's ability to maintain a steady high discharge rate of UAC placement with sponsors," he testified.

Hayes explained that the length of time that an unaccompanied minor stays in HHS custody has actually decreased compared to last year - almost half the number of days compared to 2018."As of July, the average length of time that a child stays in HHS' custody is approximately 50 days, which is a dramatic decrease of over 40 percent from late November 2018, where the average length of care was 90 days," he said. (Read more)

- Lord God, we pray for these 67,000 immigrant children whose parents gave them away without any connection to their future. These 67,000 souls are desperately in need of God's intervention. We pray for their confused minds, their crushed spirits, their delirium of "where are my parents and who are these people?" Lord, open the door for loving people to receive these children. In the Name of Jesus we pray.

- "God shall teach decrees and laws. God shall show them the way they are to live and the work they are to do. You shall select from the people men who fear God, men of truth, those who hate dishonest gain; and shall place these over the children as leaders of thousands, of hundreds, of fifties and of tens." (Exodus 18:20-21)

7. Violent white supremacists a leading domestic security threat: Department of Homeland Security - Washington Examiner

The Trump administration has rolled out a new strategy which names violent white supremacists as a leading domestic security threat.

The strategy is an attempt to streamline efforts across law enforcement nationwide to prevent domestic terrorism and other targeted violence attacks in the United States.

Acting Homeland Security Secretary Kevin McAleenan on Friday announced the DHS Strategic Framework for Countering Terrorism and Targeted Violence after what he said was a monthslong effort to create a plan to thwart both ideologically driven and nonideologically driven attackers on both a federal and local level.

"In our modern age, the continued menace of racially based violent extremism, particularly white supremacist extremism, is an abhorrent affront to our nation," McAleenan told attendees at the Brookings Institution think tank in Washington.

The announcement is the first national-level strategy that states terrorist attacks inside the country and targeted incidents "overlap, intersect, and interact as problems and require a shared set of solutions," no longer keeping separate the approaches to preventing these two types of attacks, according to a DHS document. (Read more)

- Father, we pray that there be a tantamount antiterrorism effort to engage a strong fully-equipped security program throughout the United States against the insidious, stealthy, underhanded, disingenuous terrorist groups here who are laying out plans to destroy America from within. We pray in the mighty Name of Jesus.

- "Rejoice O nations, with His people: for God will avenge the blood of His servants, and will render vengeance to His adversaries and will be merciful to His land, and to his people." (Deuteronomy 32:43)

8. Ted Nugent Predicts 'Widespread Civil Disobedience' After Radical Change to Hunting Rules - The Western Journal

Music legend and pro-Second Amendment advocate Ted Nugent is not happy about changes to his state's hunting regulations, and he hinted that Michigan could be in for some trouble from other upset hunters.

Nugent's comments were delivered to lawmakers at the Michigan State Capitol on Tuesday, with the conservative icon fervently defending a bill that would overturn a recent ban on baiting and feeding wild game.

Addressing reporters following his testimony, Nugent warned of "widespread civil disobedience" if the new regulations remain in place. "This is a Rosa Parks moment," he said. "The law is wrong, the law is bad, the law is illegal." (Read more)

- Father, we pray against widespread civil disobedience being incited after this radical change to hunting rules. in Michigan. Lord, reverse this law and overturn this recent ban on baiting and feeding wild game. In Jesus' Name we pray.

- "And the fear of you and the dread of you shall be upon every beast of the earth, and upon every fowl of the air, upon all that moves upon the earth, and upon all the fish of the sea, into your hand are they delivered." (Genesis 9:2)

9. President Trump's Health Department Will Send $9M to 3 States to Improve Rural Pregnancy Care - LifeSite

The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has announced that it will be awarding $9 million to help launch the Rural Maternity and Obstetrics Management Strategies (RMOMS) program, with the goal of improving maternal health care. In a news release, HHS explained that Texas, Missouri, and New Mexico will each receive up to $600,000 in a planning year, and then up to $800,000 in three subsequent years to implement the program, by piloting, testing, and developing models that improve access to maternal obstetrical care in rural communities.

As the American Hospital Association has explained, women living in rural communities do not always have access to quality health care services. In 2014, 54% of rural counties lacked hospital-based OB services, and as rural hospitals close, the problem may only get worse.

"Strengthening rural and maternal health are important priorities for HHS and the Trump Administration. This program's investments will support both of these priorities by developing new and innovative networks to improve rural maternal care," HHS Secretary Alex Azar said in the news release announcing the program. "By testing out approaches through pilot programs, we can lay the groundwork for making a real impact on these important health challenges." (Read more)

- Father, we pray that You will bless this improvement in rural pregnancy care in Texas, Missouri and New Mexico. Thank the Lord for moving President Trump to strengthen rural and maternal health programs. In Jesus' Name we pray.

- "A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches, and loving favor than silver and gold. " (Proverbs 22:1)

10. Supreme Court could hear groundbreaking case that challenges UN immunity - Fox News

As world leaders descend on New York for this year's U.N. General Assembly, the immunity enjoyed by the organization is being challenged at the U.S. Supreme Court.

Following a devastating earthquake in 2010, Nepalese peacekeepers sent to help instead brought Cholera to Haiti - a disease unknown to the country at the time. Waste from the peacekeepers' HQ leaked into the local river and ended up being responsible for ten thousand deaths, with hundreds of thousands contacting it.

"My father and stepmother both died because the U.N. brought cholera to Haiti." Marie Laventure, the lead plaintiff in the case told Fox News in an email.

Laventure wants her day in court.

"Many other Haitians, including Haitian Americans, died as well. This may be the last chance for justice for those hurt by the U.N.'s actions. The U.N. must be held responsible so they know there are consequences for the damage they cause in places like Haiti," she said.

The plaintiffs are hoping the justices will hear their case when they start their next session in October. (Read more)

- Almighty God, we pray that the United Nations General Assembly will be held responsible for all the deaths due to cholera which was brought to Haiti by them. May they receive due charges for their acts in this case. We pray for God's judgement to prevail. In the Name of Jesus we pray.

- "As righteousness tends to life: so them that pursues evil, pursues it to their own death." (Proverbs 11:19)

The prophetic clock tick tock

Many events are coalescing around the world with prophetic players. It is not so much that Israeli elections came to a stalemate with division. It is not so much that Iran is rattling its sword. It is not so much that the world is in a very divisive state where major countries are facing visceral debates over illegal immigration, migration, refugee placement-essentially, a redistribution of the world population, much of which is due to Islamic wars. It is, however, that all these events are occurring at the same time. We can point to various prophecies regarding the end of times and the return of Christ and reasonably discern that the prophecy clock is moving forward with Israel as its timekeeper.

When we look at the chronology Christ gave in Matthew 24, there is a picture of what happens in Israel leading up to the return of Christ. Verse 10: And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another. Verses 15-16: When you therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place. Then let them which be in Judea flee into the mountains." The Daniel 11 prophecy speaks of the king that takes away the daily sacrifice and places the abomination that makes desolate. It goes on to say that many shall fall by the sword, by flame, by captivity and spoil. These are also prophesied in Zechariah, Ezekiel, Hosea, Joel, Revelation and other books of the Bible.
Israel is going to fall. There will be a time when the Beast will take over Jerusalem and do horrible things to the people there. Zechariah 14 says that Jerusalem will be taken, the houses rifled, the women ravished, and half of the city will go into captivity. But the Lord returns and sets things straight by defeating the Beast in a supernatural way as such that the nations "shall know that I am the Lord (Ezekiel 38:23)." The enemies of Israel will be defeated and the Lord establishes his kingdom on earth as foretold by the prophets. Zechariah 14:9 says, "And the Lord shall be king over all the earth: in that day shall there be one Lord, and his name one." Just as it is written in Romans 14:11, "For it is written (in Isaiah 45:23), As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God."
We are constantly watching and discerning the times. Iran is making a play for the Middle East. Israel has had elections resulting in nothing but division. The Middle East is in turmoil. Islam is advancing around the globe either by sword or by immigration. As we look at all these events, we also need to pay close attention to what is happening in Israel. Israel is the timepiece for prophecy. There will be an event or a series of events that will set the stage and actually trigger all the other events that are in place for the return of the Lord. We can watch closely to see the convergence. What event causes division in Israel and opens the door for the enemies of Israel? We may be seeing today a type and shadow of prophecy evolving as Israel's leaders are divided and the Joint List of Arab parties are united. Something to ponder and pray about.

Have a blessed and powerful day,

Sandra Merritt's Hearing: GOOD NEWS!

Sandra's Hearing Capped by Explosive Testimony

Sandra Merritt's three-week preliminary hearing wound up yesterday with explosive testimony from a medical researcher with a Stanford Ph.D. - and in a surprise twist, a long-time abortionist.

Both testified in court as to why they believe beating hearts were harvested from living babies aborted by Planned Parenthood.

The abortionist, Dr. Forrest Smith, a man who admits to committing some 50,000 abortions, provided expert testimony from inside the abortion industry.

"There's no question in my mind that at least some of these fetuses were live births," Smith told the court.

To help you grasp what took place, I want to share a riveting report filed just a few hours ago by our lead attorney in this case, Liberty Counsel Chief Litigation Counsel Harry Mihet . . .
On the last day of our hearing, Dr. Theresa Deisher, Stanford PhD, testified about the lengths to which she must go as a cardiovascular researcher to make sure that the mice she studies do not suffer needless pain. If she were to cut the beating hearts out of those mice without anesthesia, she told the court, she would go to jail and face ethical charges.

She testified how horrified she was upon reading various studies involving baby human hearts procured from Planned Parenthood - and realizing that there was no way for those studies to have been done UNLESS THE HEARTS WERE STILL BEATING WHEN CUT OUT FROM THE ABORTED BABIES. Without anesthesia, of course.

In bombshell testimony, Dr. Deisher testified that she consulted with David Daleiden BEFORE he and Sandra filmed the undercover videos, and told them that Planned Parenthood MUST be supplying BEATING baby hearts to researchers!

The deputy attorney general had NOTHING to say in response. The AG's office understood how devastating this testimony was to their defunct "case," so before Dr. Deisher even testified, they did the only thing they could: threaten to indict her as a "co-conspirator" because of the scientific advice she had provided David! (Liberty Counsel) Read more here.

- Fortunately, Dr. Deisher was shaken but not deterred. She called the AG's bluff and delivered a fatal blow. Pray that her testimony will make a difference. And pray that God will hasten the day when babies with beating hearts will have at least as much legal protection as cute little mice.

- "Let the wickedness of the wicked come to an end, but establish the just."
(Psalm 7:9)

1st down, Congress!

This is no sports metaphor. Lawmakers from both sides of the aisle team up with ex-NFL players to face off Tuesday against the US Capitol Police in the 10th annual charity football game.

This year's game is the tenth such matchup and will benefit three non-profit organizations: The Capitol Police Memorial Fund, Our Military Kids, and A Advantage 4 Kids.

Started in 2005, the Congressional Football Game was first organized to honor and support the men and women of the U.S. Capitol Police and to support the families of fallen officers. The game is a family-friendly event that includes entertainment and spirited competition on the field, while bringing together Congressional and law enforcement communities in support of worthy causes.
Capitol Police Memorial Fund, provides assistance to the families of fallen officers or those wounded in the line of duty.

Our Military Kids, provides grants to children of deployed National Guard and Reserve personnel and children of severely injured Service Members to cover the costs for enrichment activities and educational assistance.

A Advantage 4 Kids, a nonprofit organization created to aid individuals and families in need.

- Father, we thank You for this great report, and that we see Congress taking one night off to support this wonderful charity, together. We are delighted to see this example of camaraderie and true fellowship exhibited by the members of both political parties, who will throw the football together at tomorrow night's game.
- Father God, we also decree PSALM 91 over Hotchkiss Field at Gallaudet University where the game will be played. We ask for Your Hand of protection to rest upon each one who is there. In Your Name, amen.

Classic Hymns

LOVE DIVINE ALL LOVES EXCELLING

"God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in him." (1 John 4:16)

Lyrics

Love divine, all loves excelling, Joy of Heav'n to earth come down; Fix in us thy humble dwelling; All thy faithful mercies crown! Jesus, Thou art all compassion, Pure unbounded love Thou art; Visit us with Thy salvation; Enter every trembling heart.

Breathe, O breathe Thy loving Spirit, Into every troubled breast! Let us all in Thee inherit; Let us find that second rest. Take away our bent to sinning; Alpha and Omega be; End of faith, as its beginning, Set our hearts at liberty.
Come, Almighty to deliver, Let us all Thy life receive; Suddenly return and never, Never more Thy temples leave. Thee we would be always blessing, Serve Thee as Thy hosts above, Pray and praise Thee without ceasing, Glory in Thy perfect love.
Finish, then, Thy new creation; Pure and spotless let us be. Let us see Thy great salvation Perfectly restored in Thee; Changed from glory into glory, Till in Heav'n we take our place, Till we cast our crowns before Thee, Lost in wonder, love, and praise.

About the Hymn:

This hymn was sung at the wedding of Britain's Prince William and Catherine Middleton in Westminster Abbey, London, April 29, 2011.

History:

In 1961, during the Manchester, England, crusade . . . just as the meetings were about to start, Billy Graham became quite seriously ill . . .

Billy had been scheduled to speak to the ministers of London just before the crusade opened. You can imagine my feelings when he sent word that I should represent him and speak at that meeting. The British pastors are them selves thorough scholars and often brilliant preachers. And they were expecting to hear Billy Graham, not me!

At the beginning of that meeting in Westminster's Central Hall, the ministers joined in singing this great hymn of Charles Wesley. Most of these British clergymen were also well acquainted with hymn texts and hymn tunes, and they sang gloriously. Accompanied by the grand piano and the great pipe organ and using the Welsh tune Blaenwern, these familiar words lifted our hearts in praise and prayer to God. I felt God's strength evident through the singing; He blessed our meeting together despite my fears and their disappointment.

Astronomer spots possible new interstellar visitor in our solar system

(CNN)Almost two years after the first interstellar visitor was detected in our solar system, astronomers believe they've found one that's incoming, according to NASA. The first object, known as 'Oumuamua, was found in October 2017. Interstellar means that the object originated from outside of our solar system.

On August 30, Gennady Borisov spotted a new comet while at the MARGO observatory in Crimea. After this initial observation, the Scout system at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory also flagged the object as possibly originating from outside of our solar system. Scout assesses recently found objects from the Minor Planet Center for hazards and potential trajectories.

Follow-up observations of the comet ensued, including Davide Farnocchia at NASA's Center for Near-Earth Object Studies and the European Space Agency's Near-Earth Object Coordination Center.

The object, now known as C/2019 Q4 (Borisov) hasn't officially been confirmed to have an origin point outside of our solar system.

But we'll get a chance to know the comet better soon. It's heading for the inner part of our solar system and will enter it on October 26. To look at it right now through telescopes from our vantage point on Earth, it appears close to the sun. It will be visible through professional telescopes for months.

The comet is making its way toward our sun. The closest it will come to Earth is a distance of 190 million miles. Currently, it's 260 million miles away from our sun and will make its closest approach on December 8.

"The comet's current velocity is high, about 93,000 mph, which is well above the typical velocities of objects orbiting the Sun at that distance," said Farnocchia. "The high velocity indicates not only that the object likely originated from outside our solar system, but also that it will leave and head back to interstellar space."

The object was designated as a comet because it appears fuzzy. Comets tend to look fuzzy because they're icy and release dust and particles as they heat up on approach to the sun.

'Oumuamua only had a quick visit with us in 2017. This comet's stay should be a bit longer.

"The object will peak in brightness in mid-December and continue to be observable with moderate-size telescopes until April 2020," said Farnocchia. "After that, it will only be observable with larger professional telescopes through October 2020." (Read more)

'God Won':

Atheist Group Ordered the School Board to Drop Football Prayers, But the Crowd Erupted When They Did This Instead

For years, Lowndes County, Georgia High School has had a student-led prayer before its Friday night football games. But for the game on September 6, there was no prayer allowed . . . on purpose. The school board had heard from the Freedom From Religion Foundation that a parent had complained about it, and the FFRF asked that they omit the prayer.

The school board complied with the "no prayer" request for that game. But for many in this community located deep in the Bible Belt, that was unacceptable. Facing a backlash, the board had to come up with another option.

WCTV Eyewitness News reported that Board Chairman Dave Clark said board members understood the community concern that a cherished tradition was being halted, but the board had to have time to make sure its policy and practice followed the law.

"We knew coming in after our meeting last week that we had to put some work on it because our constituents were not going to let us say no way," Clark told WCTV.

The following week the board had an answer: allow students to present anything before the game, whether a song, a poem, or a prayer.

According to WCTV, the new policy states students participating will be chosen by the administration at the high school based on academics and program. Then it will be the student's choice if he or she wants to say a prayer or not.

When the new policy was read to a packed board room on Monday, the crowd erupted in cheers and praise for the board's decision.

"What message do you want Lowndes County, and most importantly these students to learn from your decision, and you voiced overwhelmingly the right one," said Darrel Presley, President of the Vikings Touchdown Club, according to the TV station.

Apparently, the general belief among those listening to the new policy is that the choice made most often by the students will be prayer.

"God won," Joe Copeland told WCTV. "That was the whole plan all along, I think it's awesome that we've got kids in school that want to pray to God and attend church." (Breaking Christian News) Read more.

(Read more)
