Good News on the Border!

President Trump's Plan to Stem Border Crossings Gets Results

"President Donald Trump's plan to force Mexico to stem the flow of migrants across the southwest border of the U.S. appears to be working," Ted Hesson reports for Politico.

"Border arrests, a metric for illegal crossings, plummeted to 51,000 in August, according to preliminary government figures obtained by POLITICO Wednesday, down more than 60 percent since a peak in May. And border watchers say it's largely because of an agreement Trump struck with Mexico in June."

After President Trump put pressure on Mexico to take action earlier this year, "Mexican authorities, backed by the newly formed National Guard, are now cracking down on migrants traversing Mexico's southern border with Guatemala, monitoring river crossings and stopping buses carrying migrants from Central America through Mexico." 1. Israel's Labor signs secret agreement with Arab party - World Israel News

The Labor-Gesher alliance has signed a secret agreement with the Arab Reform party in which it states that if the veteran party becomes part of the government, it will work to abolish the Nation-State law, Kan Israel News reported on Monday.

Party leader Amir Peretz has refused to divulge the details of the pact made with the Arab party, which is centered in the Arab-Israeli town of Tira. However, the news channel revealed that in exchange for a promise of some tens of thousands of Arab votes, Labor has agreed to fulfill a series of demands if it joins the next government after elections next week.

These include, first and foremost, supporting the repeal of the Nation-State Law, which declares that Israel fulfills the national aspirations of the Jewish people alone. Although no other group's civil rights are affected by the Basic Law, which was passed last year, the Arab sector considers it to be racist and illegitimate. Other known pledges are to hire more Arabs for government positions as a form of affirmative action, putting a representative of the Reform party on the Labor list for the next elections, and opening up a local office in Tira that can hear citizens' grievances.

2. Netanyahu Exposes Iranian Nuclear Weapons Development Site - Jewish Press

On Monday evening, Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu revealed images of a new Iranian nuclear weapons development site. "Today I can reveal we have uncovered additional secret sites in Iran's nuclear program," he said. "One of the most important of them is the site to produce nuclear weapons in Abadeh."

Speaking in a live news conference broadcast worldwide, Netanyahu said the site was being used to conduct experiments in developing nuclear weapons as late as June 2019. But when the Iranians realized Israel had discovered the site, the prime minister said, "they destroyed the site, simply wiped it out - or tried to," in July 2019.

Netanyahu showed the reporters "before" and "after" satellite images of the site that were taken in June 2019 and July 2019.

3. Surprise! IAEA Finds Uranium Traces in Tehran, Where Netanyahu Told Them to Look - Jewish Press

What a shock.

Samples taken by investigators from the United Nations International Atomic Energy Agency at the so-called "secret atomic warehouse" in Tehran - where Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told them to look - have come up glowing.

Iran has yet to explain those traces of uranium, says the nuclear watchdog agency, according to two diplomats who are tightly connected with the agency's inspection work, and who spoke exclusively with the Reuters news agency.

The IAEA has asked Iran to explain those traces, but Tehran has provided no response, according to the diplomats. In fact, Iran has further violated the 2015 Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) nuclear deal it signed with world powers.

4. Hezbollah setting Up Precision Missile Site In Lebanon's Bekaa Valley- Jerusalem Post

Hezbollah has set up a production and conversion site for precision missiles near the town of Al-Nabi Sheeth in Lebanon's Bekaa, Israel's military announced on Tuesday, saying the facility was established in recent years as a site for the production of weapons led by Iran and Hezbollah.

Various activities to facilitate the manufacture and conversion of precision-guided missiles at the facility have lately been identified, including the establishment of a dedicated assembly line for precision weapons, and the transfer of sensitive and dedicated equipment.

"This facility is of superior importance to the Hezbollah precision-missile project, which is why Hezbollah, in fear of strikes, evacuated precious and unique equipment from the compound to civilian locations in Beirut," the military said.

The facility has a number of machines designed to manufacture the motors and missile warheads for missiles capable of hitting within 10 meters from its target. Iran, the IDF said, is providing special machinery, trains production operators, and regularly provides guidance and support.

5. NETANYAHU EXPECTED TO MEET PUTIN LATER THIS WEEK - JERUSALEM POST

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is expected to fly to Sochi on Thursday, just five days before Election Day, to discuss strengthening the security cooperation between the two countries in Syria.

"Later this week, it is very likely that I will be in Russia in order to discuss with President [Vladimir] Putin the continuation of military coordination so as to prevent a collision given the upsurge in activity against us by Iran and its proxies, and our increased activity against them," Netanyahu said at the weekly cabinet meeting.

Netanyahu last met Putin in April, five days before the previous election, when he thanked the Russian president for assistance in returning the remains of IDF Sgt. Zachary Baumel to Israel.

Netanyahu said last week that efforts were under way to arrange for another trilateral summit in Jerusalem of US, Russian and Israeli security officials to discuss the removal of Iranian forces from Syria. The first such meeting took place in June in Jerusalem.

6. The Biblical town of Emmaus, which is linked to Jesus' resurrection and the Ark of the Covenant, may have been found - Fox News

Archaeologists in Israel may have discovered the Biblical town of Emmaus, which is linked to Jesus' resurrection and the Ark of the Covenant.

Haaretz reports that archaeologists have uncovered the remains of a 2,200-year-old fortification at Kiriath-Jearim, a hill on the outskirts of Abu Ghosh, a village near Jerusalem.

The fortification dates back to the Hellenistic period when ancient Greek influence in the region was strong. Tel Aviv University Professor Israel Finkelstein told Haaretz that the walls were repaired during the later period of Roman rule in the first century A.D.

Finkelstein and his fellow researchers suggest that the site could be the famous Biblical town, or village, of Emmaus. According to Christian tradition, Jesus appeared to two of his apostles on the road to Emmaus after his crucifixion and resurrection.

7. Sharp Drop in Abortions for Jewish Women in Israel - Breaking Christian News

For the past 25 years, the absolute number of abortions in Israel has hovered at about 18,000. Given the increasing population of the country, the total Abortion Rate (abortions per thousand), has gone down from nearly 13 per thousand to about 9 per thousand. The number of Jewish women who get abortions every year decreases slightly, and in the past 25 years has gone down from 14,700 per year to 13,700 in 2015. Given the dramatic Jewish population boom, this means that the rate per thousand has gone down from 13.7 to 9.7.

The Daily Brief

1. House Judiciary panel preparing vote to define Trump impeachment probe - Politico

The House Judiciary Committee is preparing to take its first formal vote to define what Chairman Jerry Nadler calls an ongoing "impeachment investigation" of President Donald Trump, according to multiple sources briefed on the discussions.

The panel could vote as early as Wednesday on a resolution to spell out the parameters of its investigation. The language is still being hammered out inside the committee and with House leaders. A draft of the resolution is expected to be released Monday morning.

The issue was raised Friday during a conference call among the committee's Democrats. A source familiar with the discussion said any move next week would be intended to increase the "officialness" of the ongoing probe, after a six-week summer recess in which some Democrats struggled to communicate to their constituents that the House had already begun impeachment proceedings. Democrats are hopeful that explicitly defining their impeachment inquiry will heighten their leverage to compel testimony from witnesses.

Though the language of the resolution is still in flux, some sources said it could incorporate elements of traditional impeachment probes, such as offering access to the president's attorneys or providing for more time to question witnesses. There was discussion among some Democrats on Friday's call about the strength of the language in the resolution, according to sources briefed on the call. (Read more)

- Lord, this action continues to divide the American people We bind up these attempts in the Name of Jesus and ask that You finally put this issue to rest.

- "The evil will bow before the good, and the wicked at the gates of righteousness." (Proverbs 14:19)

2. Devin Nunes Files Racketeering Lawsuit Against Fusion GPS - The Epoch Times

Rep. Devin Nunes filed a federal lawsuit Wednesday against opposition research firm Fusion GPS and the Campaign for Accountability, accusing the two of smearing him over his investigation into Fusion GPS's and the Steele dossier.

The complaint, which the California Republican filed in federal court in Virginia, alleges that Fusion GPS and Campaign for Accountability (CfA) worked on a "joint and systematic effort to intimidate, harass, threaten, influence, interfere with, impede, and ultimately to derail" Nunes' investigation of the dossier, which he directed as chairman of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence (HPSCI).

In the lawsuit, Nunes draws a link between CfA payments to Fusion GPS and a string of ethics complaints that the watchdog group filed against him last year.

The Daily Caller News Foundation reported Aug. 1 that CfA's 2018 tax filings show the group paid Fusion GPS nearly $140,000 unspecified research activities. (Read more)

- Lord, we pray that Fusion GPS would be held accountable for their lies.

- "Let the proud be ashamed, for they treated me wrongfully with falsehood." (Psalm 119:78a,b)

3. Congressman John Ratcliffe Says DOJ 'Is Going To Have To Indict' McCabe - Western Journal

For Texas Rep. John Ratcliffe, there's no question about whether the Justice Department should indict former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe. In fact, he said, the decision has already been made - at least when it comes to men associated with President Donald Trump. The only question is whether the Justice Department will be consistent in how it applies the law.

"It was last year that the inspector general found that Deputy Director McCabe authorized the disclosure of sensitive investigative information to a reporter and then, more importantly, repeatedly lied about it to investigators," Ratcliffe, a former prosecutor, told Fox News' Maria Bartiromo on "Sunday Morning Futures."

"As your viewers also know, the Department of Justice has, through the special counsel, recently made a cottage industry out of charging people like General Flynn and George Papadopoulos for lying to investigators. . . "I think the Department of Justice is going to have to indict Andy McCabe, simply because to do otherwise would be to admit that there are separate standards for people doing the same thing for the same conduct." (Read more)

- Thank You, Lord, for these statements made by Congressman John Ratcliffe. In judging these cases, the same standard of truth must be applied to all. In Your Name, amen.

- "All you need to say is simply 'Yes' or 'No'; anything beyond this comes from the evil one." (Matthew 5:37)

4. Bernie Sanders Wants to Use Abortion in Poor Countries to Battle Climate Change - CBN

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT), one of the leading candidates for the Democratic Party's 2020 presidential nomination, sparked outrage for linking abortion to population control during a CNN town hall event in Vermont Wednesday night.

During a discussion on climate change, Sanders said he would support taxpayer-funded programs to provide abortions and birth control for women in developing countries as a measure to combat the climate crisis.

"Human population growth has more than doubled in the past 50 years. The planet cannot sustain this growth. I realize this is a poisonous topic for politicians, but it's crucial to face," a member of the audience asked the Vermont senator.

"Empowering women and educating everyone on the need to curb population growth seems a reasonable campaign to enact. Would you be courageous enough to discuss this issue and make it a key feature of a plan to address climate catastrophe?" "The answer is yes," Sanders replied. "And the answer has everything to do with the fact that women in the United States of America, by the way, have a right to control their own bodies and make reproductive decisions." (Read more)

- Lord, this idea about "controlling their own bodies" is another way of saying rebellion against God is a good thing when it is not. We place our planet, and its inhabitants in Your Mighty Hand.

- "Some trust in horses and some in chariots, but we will remember the Name of the Lord our God." (Psalm 20:7)

5. Head of UN Global Communications Says Illegally Entering the U.S. is a Right - Summit News

The head of United Nations Global Communications says that it is a "right" for migrants to illegally enter the United States.

Writing on Facebook, Melissa Flemming asserted that, "the right to seek asylum is enshrined in Article 14 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights & was made binding by the 1951 Refugee Convention." "It is never a crime to seek asylum in another country even if one enters a country irregularly," she added.

As head of communications, Flemming, who is American, is also the spokesperson for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), the same organization that Rep. Ilhan Omar advocated take control of the US-Mexico border last week. "We should do what any other country does by dealing with this situation in a serious way," Omar said during an immigration forum in south Minneapolis.

"So, we have to bring in the United Nations high commissioner on refugees, an agency that has the expertise and the training to handle massive flows of refugees humanely." (Read more)

- Lord, this foolish woman has no knowledge or understanding of the sovereignty of nations, nor of the principle of borders. We pray that no plan from the UN will be instituted within the United States, and that Omar will be rebuked for suggesting it.

- "You shall not move your neighbor's boundary mark, which the ancestors have set, in your inheritance which you will inherit in the land that the LORD your God gives you to possess." (Deut 19:14)

6. Kimberley Strassel: 2020 Dems vowing to 'kill every coal job, every oil and gas job' with climate goals - Fox News

Wall Street Journal columnist Kimberley Strassel warned on Saturday that 2020 Democratic candidates' climate proposals could cause the loss of millions of jobs. "When you talk about banning fracking. When you talk about a carbon-free economy by 2030 or 2050, you are saying 'we are going to kill every coal job in the country, every oil and gas job, all of the shipping jobs that they do -- we're talking about millions of positions," Strassel said during the "The Journal Editorial Report."

"That is not a vote-getter out at the polls," she said. Strassel speculated that progressives, upset with the Democratic establishment after the 2016 election, were flexing their muscles with their highly ambitious proposals and sought to have one of their candidates get the party's nomination in 2020. "The problem here . . . is that this was one of the reasons they did lose last time," she said. "Remember, [former Democratic presidential nominee] Hillary Clinton still says one of the bigger mistakes she made was promising to put a lot of coal workers out of a job." (Read more)

- Father, we ask that You move over the entire electorate in America and reveal this truth to them - that the plans of the 2020 Democrats are fraught with lies and deceptions that would destroy our nation entirely and plunge us into a Depression.

- "Oh, send out Your light and Your truth! Let them lead me." (Psalm 43:3a)

7. Maryland man gets 30 months in prison for $20M Ponzi scheme; accomplice tried to ward off feds with 'hoodoo' - The Baltimore Sun

A Maryland man has been sentenced to more than two years in prison for his role in a Ponzi scheme that defrauded investors out of more than $20 million. U.S. District Judge Paula Xinis on Wednesday sentenced 53-year-old Bradley Mascho, of Frederick, to 30 months in federal prison. U.S. Attorney Robert Hur's office said in a news release that the judge also ordered Mascho to pay nearly $5 million in restitution.

In July, Xinis sentenced 56-year-old investment adviser Dawn Bennett to 20 years in prison for participating in the same fraud scheme.

Jurors heard testimony that Bennett used investors' money to buy astrological gems and cosmetic medical procedures and to pay more than $800,000 for prayers by Hindu priests in India to ward off federal investigators while her business was collapsing. (Read more)

- "And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose." (Romans 8:28)

8. San Francisco Supervisors Vote Unanimously to Designate NRA 'Domestic Terrorist Organization' - Breitbart

The resolution claims that the NRA incites and arms those who would use guns in acts of mass terrorism driven by hatred. . . Though the resolution mentions the U.S. Constitution, it fails to mention the Second Amendment.

> > > To read this resolution, go here.

> > > To read this article from Breitbart, go here.

- Father, millions of ordinary people are members of the NRA (National Rifle Association); people who are law-abiding citizens. We pray that this egregious action would be destroyed in the courts, and that Your Spirit of repentance would flow over the people of San Francisco.

- ". . . that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father." (Philippians 2:10-11)

9. U.S. judge wants quick review of sealed documents tied to Epstein - Reuters

A New York federal judge said on Wednesday she would move quickly in deciding whether to unseal hundreds of court documents linked to financier Jeffrey Epstein, who died last month while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges. The documents are part of a civil lawsuit filed by one of Epstein's alleged victims, Virginia Giuffre, against Epstein's former associate, Ghislaine Maxwell. Giuffre has said Epstein and Maxwell trafficked her for sex while she was a teenager. Giuffre sued Maxwell in 2015 and accused the British socialite of defaming her by calling her a liar. Maxwell has denied the claims, and the case settled on undisclosed terms earlier this year.

More than 900 court filings in the case remained secret until early August, when a federal appeals court unsealed about 2,000 pages of documents. The court ordered U.S. District Judge Loretta Preska to review each of the remaining documents to determine whether they should be unsealed. (Read more)

- Lord, as these documents are reviewed we pray once again that accountability will be brought for every person who committed crimes in this case.

- "For the perverse person is an abomination to the Lord." (Proverbs 3:32a)

10. Jeffrey Epstein's model-scouting pal has 'disappeared without a trace' - NY Post

The model agency boss accused of scouting young girls for pedophile pal Jeffrey Epstein has disappeared like a "ghost," as investigators scour the globe searching for him, a new report said. French authorities want to quiz Jean-Luc Brunel, 72, over his ties to Epstein as part of their own probe into the late financier who had a house in Paris, according to the Daily Mirror. "He is a ghost who has disappeared without a trace," a legal source in Paris told the paper of Brunel, who discovered some of the biggest names in modeling, including Christy Turlington and Angie Everhardt.

Investigators have made inquiries throughout the US and Europe, as well as Brazil, where the Frenchman was seen looking for girls just three months before Epstein, 66, was arrested, the paper says. "There is no address for him, all his internet accounts, including social media, have been wiped out. He is uncontactable," the source told the Mirror. (Read more)

- Father, we ask that You will find this man quickly. We pray that any information he has be brought to light so that accountability may be brought to bear.

- "But the wicked will fall by his own wickedness." (Proverbs 11:5b)

Got Hope?

We can look at the headlines and it doesn't take much intuition to see that the news media and much of America depend heavily on politics. Politics looking at issues. Politics looking at who is running for office. Politics, politics, politics. If our hope is in politics and politicians, it is a hope of dark days ahead. As Christians, our hope can be in nothing less than Christ. Political leadership long has turned away from common sense This, however, is no time for the weak-hearted or for America's Christians to disengage and throw in the towel. It seems we have been doing that since the 1960s, and it hasn't worked. Christ is the answer to this dark and dying world, and you are his vessel. Think about that.

You have a calling. And much bad doctrine has been taught about this. The Holy Scriptures say in Romans 8:28 "that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose." It's not your purpose, but "HIS" purpose. Romans 11:29 says that "the gifts and calling of God are unchangeable." So when people are saying that you have to find your calling, it is really understanding that you are called "not according to our works, but according to his own purpose (2 Timothy 1:9)." Christ is our example. He is the way the truth and the life. He showed us how to engage according to his purpose. It takes courage to conduct Christ's purpose in this world, in this country today.
Psalm 31:24 says, "Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart, all you that hope in the LORD." As Christians, our hope is in the Lord. We are to be ever watching for his return. As Galatians 6:9 says, "And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not." And Jesus promises in Matthew 10:22, "And you shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that endures to the end shall be saved." We, as Christians, are not to stand by and allow evil to advance just because we have read the end of the book and we win. We are to not be overcome with evil, but to overcome evil with good. The Lord says to be of good courage and that his gifts will never change--you are equipped.
2 Timothy 1:7 says, "For God has not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind." We are reminded that it isn't easy in 2 Corinthians 4:8,9: "We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed..." Verse 6 tells us, "For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, has shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ." We should not fear man. Man cannot take our soul. So we need to take heart during these times. Have courage. Put on the full armor of God and speak boldly as we ought to speak. And having done all, stand.

Have a blessed and powerful day,

Afghanistan Talks Collapse

Trump says talks with Taliban are 'dead,' after canceling secret Camp David summit

President Trump declared Monday that peace talks between the United States and the Taliban over the war in Afghanistan are "dead," after canceling secret plans over the weekend for a Camp David summit.

"They're dead. They're dead. As far as I'm concerned, they're dead," he said.

The president made the comments to reporters as he departed the White House to board Marine One.

Over the weekend, the president said he had intended to hold a secret meeting Sunday with Taliban representatives at Camp David, but called it off due to the Taliban's role in a deadly bombing in Kabul last week that resulted in the death of a U.S. soldier.

"They thought they had to kill people in order to put them in a little better negotiating position," Trump said Monday.

He added: "You can't do that. You can't do that with me."

. . . Trump wants to start withdrawing thousands of the remaining 13,000 to 14,000 U.S. troops from Afghanistan and eventually end U.S. involvement in the conflict that is closing in on 18 years. (Fox News) Read more.
- Father God, we thank You that You have given us a President who is bold and courageous, and who will not be pushed around by terrorists. We bind backlash from this decision, and ask a double measure of blessing upon Donald J. Trump, the President of the United States of America. Amen.
- "I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people- 2 for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness." (I Timothy 2:1,2)

Two Articles Highlight Need for Increased Vigilance this Week

DHS bulletin urges law enforcement to be on high alert ahead of 9/11 anniversary - Fox News

State and local law enforcement agencies around the United States are being urged to remain on high alert for potential terrorist activity leading up to the 15th anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks.

The Department of Homeland Security, in an intelligence notification distributed on Monday and obtained by Fox News, warned law enforcement partners that terrorists - specifically those aligned with ISIS - "may be inspired or directed to conduct attacks against events associated with 9/11 memorial commemorations or other mass gathering targets timed to this date."

The report notes the symbolism associated with the somber anniversary as a motivating factor for a potential terrorist attack. (Read more)

Classic Hymns

TRUST AND OBEY

"O Lord Almighty, blessed is the man who trusts in You." (Psalm 84:11-12)

Lyrics

When we walk with the Lord in the light of His Word,
What a glory He sheds on our way!
While we do His good will, He abides with us still,
And with all who will trust and obey.

Refrain

Trust and obey, for there's no other way
To be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.

Not a shadow can rise, not a cloud in the skies,
But His smile quickly drives it away;
Not a doubt or a fear, not a sigh or a tear,
Can abide while we trust and obey.

Refrain

Not a burden we bear, not a sorrow we share,
But our toil He doth richly repay;
Not a grief or a loss, not a frown or a cross,
But is blessed if we trust and obey.

Refrain

But we never can prove the delights of His love
Until all on the altar we lay;
For the favor He shows, for the joy He bestows,
Are for them who will trust and obey.

Refrain

Then in fellowship sweet we will sit at His feet.
Or we'll walk by His side in the way.
What He says we will do, where He sends we will go;
Never fear, only trust and obey.

Refrain

Bahamas: Christian groups bring relief as Hurricane Dorian death toll rises

Over 70,000 people are now homeless and 44 have been found dead on the Grand Bahama and Abaco Islands, the parts of the Bahamas hardest hit by Hurricane Dorian.

Bahamas Prime Minister Hubert Minnis described destruction caused by the hurricane that hovered over the islands for nearly two days as "one of the greatest national crises in our country's history." Hundreds are still reported as missing.

With the death toll rising and survivors in desperate need of supplies and medical care, numerous organizations are coordinating relief efforts. Among the groups helping to distribute aid are the Christian organizations Convoy of Hope and Samaritan's Purse.

Samaritan's Purse, a nondenominational, evangelical Christian disaster relief organization, says its team of more than 60 staff members have been on the ground in the Bahamas since Sept. 4. At the request of the World Health Organization and the government of the Bahamas, they set up an emergency field hospital and flew in a team of medical specialists, including doctors and nurses.

The 40-bed facility has "an outpatient department and emergency room, equipped to serve up to 100 patients a day," Samaritan's Purse said. The field hospital is also equipped with an obstetrics ward with a delivery room, and an operating room where as many as 10 surgeries can be performed each day.

Convoy of Hope, a faith-based, international, humanitarian-relief organization based in Springfield, Missouri, says its teams delivered 3,000 pounds of relief supplies to Freeport and Treasure Cay on Friday. The seven plane loads of supplies included "water, tarps, ready-to-eat food items, Crisis Care Kits, diapers, wipes, formula, and two generators." They also provided 1,500 meals to evacuees from Abaco who are temporarily staying at shelters in Nassau.

On Saturday, Convoy of Hope delivered more relief supplies, including water filtration units and temporary shelters, along with more food and hygiene items. 'Live to Give:' Why a 6-Year-Old SC Boy Spent His Birthday Money On Hurricane Dorian Evacuees

A six-year-old South Carolina boy was planning to use his birthday savings on a trip to Disney World, but chose to spend the money helping others. Jermaine Bell's 7th birthday celebration was supposed to be a Lion King birthday party, as he ventured through Animal Kingdom, WJBF-TV in Augusta, Georgia reports. Instead, he used his money to buy food and water, then gave the items out while residents evacuated Allensdale, SC, ahead of Hurricane Dorian.

Bell changed his plans after hearing that residents were fleeing the area for their safety. His hope was to help bring peace and kindness to people who were leaving everything behind. "The people that are traveling to go to other places, I wanted them to have some food to eat so they can enjoy the ride to the place that their gonna stay at," Bell explained. He even made signs advertising 'free hot dogs and water' that were posted on Highway 125 in Allendale. The signs were posted on both ends of the highway to ensure that his efforts were not overlooked.
Aretha Grant, the boy's grandmother, witnessed a proud moment when Bell prayed for a family and their home. "He actually even prayed for a family while they were here in reference to their house being okay when they got back, so that was really tear-dropping," Grant said.

With a simple message in mind, "I wanted to be generous and live to give," Bell served close to 100 evacuees.

The boy remains hopeful that his birthday celebration will happen on a later date.

A GoFundMe was started so Bell could still have his dream birthday party at Disney World. So far, the effort has raised $12,280 dollars of his $5,000 goal.

About Capitol Hill Prayer Partners

Our Mission Statement

Capitol Hill Prayer Partners (CHPP) is a ministry which is positioned on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., helping members of the Body of Christ to "pray for those in authority over us" in our federal government. Our primary purpose is to offer intercession on site for the members of Congress and their staffs each day that the Senate and the House of Representatives are in session; and our chief prayer focus is that "God's will be done in earth, as it is in heaven." [Matthew 6:10].

Because Jesus Christ has shed His blood for all, we, too, pray for ALL, in a nonpartisan manner. Also, because the scriptures indicate that "the effectual, fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much" (James 4:17), we are confident that fervent prayer, offered in the halls of the highest chambers of government in our land, can avail much for America. Capitol Hill Prayer Partners welcomes those who feel called to join us, engaging in this strategic work of intercession for our nation: "For there is no power but of God; the powers that be are ordained of God." [Romans 13:1]
