Secretary DeVos Rethinks Department's Recognition of Accreditors

New Accreditation Handbook focuses on accountability while adding clarity to the process

"WASHINGTON - As part of U.S. Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos' efforts to rethink higher education, the U.S. Department of Education today released a revised Accreditation Handbook for use by accrediting agencies seeking recognition by the Department."

"Too much of the accreditation process has become about paperwork and not people. The current process for recognizing accreditors generates accreditor applications that are tens of thousands of pages long, but it does little to improve the quality of education for students," said Secretary DeVos. "Reducing unnecessary and burdensome bureaucracy in this area refocuses accreditor's time and energy on what matters most - the student experience. Putting every student's needs first in everything we do is the very core of our 'Rethink' agenda." (Read more)

- Father God, we ask that these new accreditation rules be implemented quickly across the broad spectrum of our public schools, as well as the textbook publishers whose work must also align with these rules in order to be able to continue to sell their books to these schools. 1. Trump's peace team is heading back to Israel next week - Jerusalem Post

A senior US administration official confirmed to The Jerusalem Post on Sunday that US envoys Jared Kushner, Jason Greenblatt, Brian Hook and Avi Berkowitz will travel to the region next week, in an attempt to keep the momentum of the Economic Plan.

The four will visit Israel, Jordan, Egypt, Saudi Arabia,Qatar

and the UAE during the first week of August.

According to the official, the goal of the visit is to finalize the economic component of the peace plan, and to discuss possible resources to fund the administration's vision.

2. Lufthansa, British Airways abruptly suspend flights to Cairo as 'precaution' - msn.com

The British government issued a travel warning for Egypt on Saturday citing a "heightened risk of terrorism against aviation," as British Airways and German carrier Lufthansa suspended flights to Cairo as a security "precaution."

"There's a heightened risk of terrorism against aviation," The United Kingdom's Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) said in a statement. "Additional security measures are in place for flights departing from Egypt to the UK. You should co-operate fully with security officials at airports."

British Airways and Lufthansa - two of Europe's largest airlines - abruptly stopped flights to Cairo on Saturday, even as flights were about to board. "As safety is the number one priority of Lufthansa, the airline has temporarily suspended its flights to Cairo today as a precaution, while further assessment is being made," Lufthansa said in a statement. "We do not have any additional information at this time."

5. British FM warns Iran of 'serious consequences' if UK-flagged tanker not freed - Times of Israel

British Foreign Secretary Jeremy Hunt warned Friday there would be "serious consequences" if Iran did not swiftly release a UK-flagged oil tanker it detained in the Strait of Hormuz.

Hunt earlier said Iran had seized two vessels, one of which was the Liberian-flagged Mesdar. The British owner of Mesdar said the ship had been temporarily boarded by armed personnel, but was now free to leave.

Iran's Revolutionary Guards acknowledged detaining the British tanker, saying it broke "international maritime rules" in the highly sensitive waterway.

7. ALERT! Israel will allow BDS-backing congresswomen Omar, Tlaib to enter country - Times of Israel

srael's Ambassador to the United States Ron Dermer said on Friday that Israel will not prevent two BDS-supporting members of Congress from entering Israel next month.

Earlier this week, Rep. Ilhan Omar, a Democrat from Minnesota, said that she would visit Israel and the West Bank with Palestinian-American Rep. Rashida Tlaib, a Democrat from Michigan, in August. Omar and Tlaib are the first female Muslim congresswomen. Both back the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement against Israel.

8. Report: Hezbollah readying for war with Israel - Israel National News

Hezbollah's commanders, hurting from sanctions on Iran, are preparing for war with Israel, the Daily Beast reported.

Speaking to the Daily Beast, Hezbollah's "Commander Samir" (not his real name), who commands 800 terrorists on the Israel-Lebanon border, said: "The sanctions now have us preparing for dealing with the Israeli front. We will fire the first shot this time."

9. Thousands protest at Gaza border, over 100 said injured amid riots - Times of Israel

Strip on July 19, 2019. (Said Khatib/AFP) Several thousand Palestinians gathered near the Gaza Strip's border with Israel Friday to take part in weekly protests near the fence.

Some 6,000 people reportedly took part in the demonstrations. The army said some rioters hurled rocks and explosive devices at the border fence and that troops were responding with less-lethal means as well as live fire in several cases where suspects attempted to sabotage or break through the border.

10. Report: Egypt, Jordan, Saudi Arabia pressuring US to delay rollout of peace plan - Israel Hayom

Spokesman for PA President Mahmoud Abbas is quoted by pan-Arabic daily Asharq Al-Awsat saying that the Arab world backs the Arab peace initiative and a plan that does not discuss the core issues of Jerusalem and Palestinians refugees has no chance of success. (Read more)

1. Second UK oil tanker seized by Iran - Washington Examiner

After Iran's Revolutionary Guards claimed they seized a British oil tanker, the Stena Impero, a U.S. official confirmed that a second ship, the Liberian-flagged MV Mesdar, was also seized in the Strait of Hormuz within two hours.

Despite being flagged out of Liberia, the oil tanker is owned by Norbulk Shipping, which is based out of the U.K. President Trump briefly addressed the seizures Friday. He told reporters that Iran is "nothing but trouble" and that the U.S. will be speaking with the U.K. about the matter.

Tensions in the Middle East have escalated in recent weeks. Last month, the U.S. planned airstrikes against Iranian facilities in response to the downing of a U.S. drone, but Trump reportedly called off the attack in the last minutes, citing possible loss of life. (Read more)

2. Secret US Nuke Locations In Europe Accidentally Dumped Online By NATO Committee - ZeroHedge

An embarrassing gaffe has severely compromised NATO defense security and readiness after a public document inadvertently revealed too much. The document revealed secretive information related to the locations of some 150 US nuclear weapons at various bases, "specifically B61 gravity bombs."

A NATO affiliate body published a draft report last April entitled, "A new era for nuclear deterrence? Modernization, arms control and allied nuclear forces," specifically authored by a Canadian senator. In an egregious accidental leak, the document actually identified the locations of American nuclear weapons sites across Europe, which is considered highly classified information.

European newspapers this week ran shocking and alarming headlines over the revelation. Indeed it reveals a dangerous situation given the recent collapse of one crucial Cold War era treaty which kept warhead delivery systems and missiles out of Europe, the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty (INF). 3. ALERT!!! Threats against members increasing, Capitol Police chief says - Roll Call

Threats against members of Congress continue to grow, Capitol Police Chief Steven A. Sund said Tuesday at his first appearance as head of the department before the House Administration Committee.

"We continue to see the threat assessment cases that we're opening continue to grow," Sund said. "For fiscal year 2018, we had approximately 4,894 cases. So far, for this year, we have 2,502 cases. So we're on par to probably break last year's."

House Homeland Security Chairman Bennie Thompson sent a letter to Senate Sergeant-at-Arms Michael C. Stenger, who chairs the Capitol Police Board. The Mississippi Democrat requested Stenger to hold an emergency meeting to reexamine the board's approach to analyzing the risk environment, setting thresholds for enhanced security for certain targeted members and evaluating threat streams with law enforcement partners in member districts. 4. GOP senators call for Antifa to be designated as a domestic terrorist organization - The Blaze

A pair of Republican senators are calling on the federal government to designate the far-left organization Antifa as a domestic terror organization.

The resolution, which was introduced by Republican Sens. Bill Cassidy (La.) and Ted Cruz (Texas), notes recent Antifa violence against journalist Andy Ngo as well as threats against Immigration and Customs Enforcement employees and "calls for the groups and organizations across the country who act under the banner of Antifa to be designated as domestic terrorist organizations."

"Antifa is a terrorist organization composed of hateful, intolerant radicals who pursue their extreme agenda through aggressive violence," Sen. Cruz said in a statement. "Time and time again their actions have demonstrated that their central purpose is to inflict harm on those who oppose their views. Like any terrorist organization they choose to pursue their political ends through violence, fear and intimidation. They must be stopped." (Read more)

5. Latest Development In Flynn Case Proves Special Counsel Was A Cover For Taking Down Trump - The Federalist

The special counsel's investigation was a sham controlled by the intelligence community. Evidence has long suggested as much, but testimony earlier this week from Michael Flynn's ex-lawyer-that Flynn's former legal team had not seen recently revealed information purporting to implicate Flynn in a conspiracy with a Turkish agent-confirms it.

Flynn's waiver of attorney-client privilege allowed Kelner to testify about their conversations. The key take-away from Kelner's testimony is his lack of knowledge about the [specific claims against Flynn and supposed co-conspirators] and establishes that the intelligence community viewed the special counsel "probe" as merely for show.

The intelligence community handed off their intel on Flynn, knowing Flynn could not adequately counter it because it was classified. This pattern has likely repeated itself many times, which would explain why Mueller never addressed whether Russia interfered in the 2016 election by feeding Christopher Steele fake intelligence for his hit on Trump. 6. Key Mueller Witness Indicted On Child Sex-Trafficking Charges - Daily Caller

George Nader, a Lebanese-American businessman who was a key witness in the special counsel's probe, was charged earlier in July with transporting a 14-year-old European boy to the U.S. for sex, according to an indictment unsealed Friday. The indictment, which was handed down July 3, comes on top of one unsealed in June on charges that he transported images of child sex abuse victims.

Nader met during the presidential transition period with Jared Kushner, and worked closely with Elliot Broidy, a former top Republican fundraiser who is reportedly under investigation for bribery and money laundering. In August 2016, Nader offered help to the Trump campaign during a meeting at Trump Tower with Donald Trump Jr. and Prince.

Nader, 60, was interviewed multiple times during the special counsel's investigation, all but one time under a proffer agreement with prosecutors. Nader is mentioned approximately 120 times in the special counsel's report, but there is no mention of his long history of alleged child sex crimes.

Nader was indicted in Washington, D.C., in 1984 on child pornography charges. According to The Daily Beast, which first reported the new indictment against Nader, he was arrested in 1990 after being found with videos of young boys. He pleaded guilty the following year. He was convicted in the Czech Republic in 2002 of sexually abusing 10 underage boys. He served one year in prison. (Read more)

7. Illegal Immigrants Drive Child Sex Crime Charges in North Carolina - Epoch Times

James Johnson, who tracks data on his website NCFIRE.info (North Carolinians For Immigration Reform and Enforcement), said when he first launched the website, he attempted to record all crimes committed by illegal aliens after he noticed the prevalence. "It just got to be incredibly difficult and impossible to do. And I wasn't getting much traction with it as far as our North Carolina legislators were concerned," he said. "So I started to think, 'Well, you know what? These child rapes, that's about as bad as it gets. I can't think of a worse crime. If this doesn't get their attention, I don't know what will.'"

In North Carolina, during the past 18 months, more than 331 illegal aliens have been charged with 1,172 child rapes and child sexual assaults, according to data collected by an independent researcher. Every month, Johnson sends out a report to North Carolina legislators and more than 350 media outlets, "and it's crickets-nothing, nobody."

Johnson said the problem is a lot worse than what people may think, and he blames the government and media for not highlighting the issue enough. "If the public knew how much this was actually happening, first of all, they'd be just shocked. And secondly, I think there would be a revolt," he said.

A bill that is currently moving through the state legislature aims to require all local law enforcement to cooperate with ICE. However, Democratic Gov. Roy Cooper has indicated he will veto the bill, HB370, if it gets to his desk. (Read more)

8. Improper Payments Are Costing Taxpayers a Fortune - Daily Signal

According to the Government Accountability Office, in 2018, the federal government made nearly $150 billion in improper payments. This included $16 billion from the earned income tax credit, $36 billion from Medicaid, more than $3 billion from food stamps, and just shy of $10 billion from Medicare. Especially embarrassing was Social Security paying nearly $1 billion in benefits to dead people.

The Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget praises President Donald Trump's fiscal year 2020 budget's anti-waste, fraud, abuse, and improper payment proposals that could save a total of $296 billion this year alone. Trump's budget also would strengthen enforcement requirements for entitlement spending to ensure funds are directed to those who need them most. The biggest savings include allowing states to conduct Medicaid eligibility reviews more frequently, getting tougher on income and asset reporting for Supplemental Security Income and Social Security Disability Insurance, increasing IRS enforcement funding, and strengthening Medicare requirements for state administrators. 9. Drug Overdose Deaths Fall in U.S. for First Time in Nearly Three Decades - Breitbart

U.S. overdose deaths finally stopped climbing last year. And they apparently fell a little - the first such decline in nearly three decades. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on Wednesday posted the preliminary numbers showing nearly 68,000 drug overdose deaths were reported last year. The number may go up as more investigations are completed, but the agency expects the tally will end up below 69,000.

Overdose deaths have been climbing each year since 1990, topping 70,000 in 2017. Any leveling off or decline in overdose deaths is good news, but the overdose death rate is still about seven times higher than it was a generation ago.

The improvement was driven by a drop in deaths from heroin and prescription painkillers. Overdose deaths often involve more than one drug. (Read more)

Cover our borders with holy hosts of warrior angels who will line our borders and close off the drug dealers' passage into America. 10. Philippines, U.S. Discuss Strengthening Mutual Defense Treaty - Breitbart

Jose Manuel Romualdez, the Philippine ambassador to the United States, said on Tuesday the two countries are in discussions to strengthen their 1951 Mutual Defense Treaty. The unstated assumption is that a closer military relationship between America and the Philippines will help restrain Chinese aggression in the South China Sea.

A joint statement from the U.S. and the Philippines after the bilateral dialogue cited U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo's statement in March that "any armed attack on Philippine armed forces, public vessels, or aircraft in the SCS [South China Sea] will trigger Article IV of the Mutual Defense Treaty."

Assistant Secretary of State for East Asian and Pacific Affairs David Stilwell said after the bilateral dialogue that Manila is "well-positioned" to ensure the Code of Conduct for maritime activity in the South China Sea is followed to protect "freedom of navigation and overflight and other lawful uses of the sea for all countries, as well as rights of claimant states to pursue security development arrangements with partners of their choosing." 11. Senate poised to pass Sept. 11 victims bill, after votes demanded by Sens. Mike Lee, Rand Paul - Washington Post

The Senate on Thursday agreed to vote next week on legislation that would extend a victims compensation fund for Sept. 11 workers, following an emotional appeal by comedian Jon Stewart and first responders. The vote is expected to take place Tuesday. A spokesman for Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) said the chamber also will consider two amendments - one offered by Sen. Mike Lee (R-Utah), the other by Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.). The bill has broad bipartisan support, with 75 co-sponsors in the Senate. But its progress stalled Wednesday when Lee and Paul objected to a motion by Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-N.Y.) to approve the measure by unanimous consent.

Paul said Wednesday that he was objecting because any program that would last decades "should be offset by cutting spending that's less valuable." A spokesman for Lee said the senator was "seeking a vote to ensure the fund has the proper oversight in place to prevent fraud and abuse." At a Capitol news conference, Gillibrand and her fellow New York Democrat, Senate Minority Leader Charles E. Schumer, hailed the agreement and predicted that the measure would pass overwhelmingly when it gets to the floor next week. "We've already done a whip count. I am confident that the two amendments will be defeated and that we will get an overwhelming majority of senators for the vote to pass this bill and that the president will sign it," Schumer said. The first responders, he added, "will soon finally have the peace of mind they deserve." (Read more)

Using racism to cover up racism

Ilhan Omar (D-MN) is at the center of the firestorm that resulted in the Democrat-led House of Representatives condemning President Donald Trump for racist remarks. Yet, the accusation is being made even as the accuser is an egregious violator of the accusation. Omar has repeatedly and consistently demonstrated anti-Semitism and anti-American sentiment in her remarks. For example, on March 23 she addressed the Council on American-Islamic Relations by declaring that the Muslim community is not to be bullied, it should "raise hell" and that CAIR was founded after 9/11 because they recognized that some people did something and that all of us were starting to lose access to our civil liberties." But wait, there's more.
In February, Omar tweeted that American political leaders' support for Israel is "all about the Benjamins."In March, Omar attended a town hall event with Reps Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) and Pramila Jayapal (D-WA), and said, "I want to talk about the political influence in this country that says it is OK for people to push for allegiance to a foreign country." Then she tweeted, "I should not be expected to have allegiance/pledge support to a foreign country in order to serve my country in Congress or serve on committee." This prompted the Democratic Party leadership to discipline her by passing a resolution aimed at condemning anti-Semitism, but was watered down to include the LGBTQ community, Muslims, and others. She responded by saying that just because she is Muslim, people receive everything she says as anti-Semitic, a form of racism.
The Weekly Standard reported June 22, 2016, "During Israel's hostilities with Hamas in 2014, Omar tweeted, "Israel has hypnotized the world, may Allah awaken the people and help them see the evil doings of Israel." In a May 31 tweet this year (2016), she referred to Israel as an "apartheid regime."" The media downplays her remarks and affirms the Democratic Party narrative of labeling President Trump and those who support him as racist. But the truth is the truth. In continuing her longstanding anti-Semitic themes, Omar introduced a resolution this week, which is co-sponsored by Tlaib (who supports replacing Israel with a Palestinian state), to affirm Americans First Amendment right (what?) to boycott Israel for civil rights violations. She also is reported to have introduced a similar resolution when she served in the Minnesota state legislature.
Omar has told reporters that HR 496 is aimed at Israel and it uses historic examples of why to boycott Israel, including the boycott of Nazi Germany and South Africa for apartheid-both are themes that Omar and the Boycott movement (BDS) have used as comparisons to Israel. There is also documentation that the Boycott movement has been laundering money to Palestinian terrorist organizations. All this underscores Omar's racism against Jews and the duplicity of radical Islam. Yet when it is called out, the Marxist political party bosses rally to accuse others of racism. There are so many wrongs in this entire debacle. As Christians, we need to rise above this pit of darkness and lead by example. Don't taint ourselves by contending with evil in the pit, but as is written in Ephesians 6:20, "that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak."
Yes, these are dicey issues, especially when racism is the topic. You may fear that anything you say will be construed as racist. But you have the light of Christ within you and the Holy Spirit will guide you. Remember Galatians 3:28, "There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for you are all one in Christ Jesus." Jesus said in Mark 12:31, "love your neighbor as yourself." Truth in love, not in anger, has a way of softening hearts. We need to find a way to speak truth with the love and wisdom of Christ to bring clarity to these calamitous times. Even the Accuser has his time of judgment, and so will those who are his. For us, we are to overcome evil with good. Be encouraged.

	Miss World America pageant - bad news!

U.S. pageant winner refuses hijab, gets dethroned

Officials of the Miss World America pageant removed Miss Michigan's title because she refused to allow a Muslim woman to "forcibly" put a hijab on her head and then reported the incident on social media.

"I suggest you all fully review what you stand for and what you condemn," wrote Miss Michigan Kathy Zhu to pageant officials after they ordered her title removed.
The IBTimes reported Zhu, a 20-year-old model who supports President Trump, was informed she had been stripped of the Miss Michigan title.

Pageant officials accused her of "offensive, insensitive and inappropriate content" and told her "effectively immediately, MWA does not recognize you as a participant of any sort or in any capacity as it relates to any and all events of MWA."
The condemnation was signed by Laurie DeJack, state director of MWA Michigan.
Media reports cited Zhu's "controversies" such as her mention of the fact that a majority of violent black deaths are caused by other blacks.

Zhu addressed the pageant's reference to her being "insensitive."

"Do you know what is 'insensitive'? What's 'insensitive' is that women in the middle east are getting STONED TO DEATH for refusing to obey their husband's orders to wear hijabs. A muslim woman tried to FORCIBLY put a hijab on my head without my permission. I tweeted about it on my social media, and it got the attention of the media. Almost everyone was supportive of me refusing to be put in that situation."
She added: "Are the people in MWA implying that they advocate for the punishment of women who refuse to wear a hijab? . . . If this was a catholic rosary that someone forced me to try on and I refused, people would not have even bat an eye."
IBTimes reported: "Conservatives have come out in support of the beauty queen, calling MWA's response as 'unbelievable.' Lauren Chen, BlazeTV host, wrote that the fact these pageant people find her views offensive speaks more about their own bigotry than anything else. John Hawkins, a podcaster, also came out in Zhu's support saying that a conservative woman isn't even allowed to enter a beauty pageant anymore without holding politically correct opinions." - Father, we pray that 'political correctness' which demands that women wear the hijab, a symbol of subjugation be stopped. We pray that this situation will turn out to ultimately be a huge blessing for Ms. Zhu. We bind the powers of darkness that have silenced her and loose Your Holy Spirit to bring truth to many.

Flocks of Dead Birds Randomly Fall From Sky in Australia:

A Sign of End-of-Days?

A flock of birds fell from the sky in Australia, dying in gruesome agony. A closer look reveals that this is far from an isolated phenomenon and as more of these sightings occur, one rabbi warns that the death of nature is both a sign and an opportunity for us to fix our relationship with the Creator.
Bleeding Birds Fall from the Sky

Australians near Adelaide were shocked ten days ago when dying birds began to fall from the sky, bleeding from their eyes and beaks. More than 60 long-billed corellas, a protected species, were affected. A few short-billed corellas also died. Some hit the ground already dead while most lay in agony, dying after only a few minutes. Several birds were taken to veterinarians but needed to be euthanized. Officials believe it was a case of intentional poisoning and are conducting toxicology tests on the dead birds. Congressional Chaplain Launches Spiritual Warfare in US House

But there's usually one moment of unity on Capitol Hill each day. As is the custom since 1789, every session is opened by the House Chaplain.

Thursday morning, Rev. Patrick J Conroy, the current House Chaplain, offered a special opening prayer for the chamber.

In his prayer, which only lasted a little more than two minutes, he cast out "spirits of darkness" from the chamber. His prayer was shared on CSPAN and was also shared to social media.
"This has been a difficult and contentious week in which darker spirits seem to have been at play in the people's house," Conroy prayed. "In Your most holy name, I now cast out all spirits of darkness from this chamber, spirits not from You. I cast out the spirit of discouragement which deadens the hope of those who are of goodwill. I cast out the spirit of petty divisiveness, which clouds the sense and desires to be of fruitful productivity in addressing the issues more appropriately before this House."

"I cast out any sadness brought on by the frustration of dealing with matters detrimental to the honorable work each member has been called to engage in," the chaplain continued. "Pour out O Lord Your sacred oil as You did upon Aaron of old. Anoint Your servants here in the House with a healing balm to comfort and renew the souls of all in this assembly."
"May Your Spirit of wisdom and patience be sent upon all," Conroy asked. "So that any spirit of darkness might have no place in our midst. Rather, let Your Spirit of comity, of brother and sisterhood, and love of our nation, and of all colleagues in this chamber, empower our better angels to be at play in the common work to be done for the benefit of all of Your people."
