1. Moshe Feiglin says his Zehut party will run alone, risking right-wing unity - World Israel News

Zehut party leader Moshe Feiglin confirmed to IDF Radio on Monday that his party will run independently. Asked whether he was worried about wasting votes, the right-wing leader said, "The only one who didn't waste his vote in the last elections was the one who voted Zehut."

Feiglin's party failed to garner enough votes to enter the Knesset in the April elections. Feiglin criticized Ayelet Shaked, the former Justice Minister who will lead the United Right-Wing Alliance, according to reports on Sunday.

Feiglin told IDF Radio, "Although I brought more votes than Ayelet Shaked and Naftali Bennett, Shaked did not turn to me at all, and no negotiations were conducted even though everyone knew our hands were outstretched. We will run ourselves and enter the Knesset."

2. Right-wing parties unite under Shaked - YNET News

The Jewish Home and National Union parties on Monday signed an agreement with the New Right party to run on a joint list in the September elections for the Knesset. The joitn endeavor will be known as the United Right.

The top spot on the list will go to New Right leader Ayelet Shaked, with her party co-founder Naftali Bennett taking the fourth slot.

Jewish Home chair Rafi Peretz has been given the second spot and National Union head Bezalel Smotrich is third on the list of candidates.

The agreement does not currently include the far-right Otzma Yehudit (Jewish Power) and Zehut (Identity) parties.

3. Exclusive: Israel's national plan to relocate foreign embassies to J'lem - Israel Hayom

For the first time ever, the Israeli government is preparing an official initiative to relocate and open foreign embassies in Jerusalem. Foreign Minister Yisrael Katz will soon present his proposal to the cabinet to designate the transfer of embassies to Jerusalem as a "national, diplomatic and strategic objective of the highest order."

To realize the goal, Katz has formulated an incentives package aimed at encouraging countries to move their official embassies to the Israeli capital.

When Katz began his tenure as foreign minister in February 2019, he learned there were countries that agree in principle to open their embassies in Jerusalem but seek reciprocal measures from Israel in exchange. For example, Honduras and El Salvador have agreed to open embassies in Jerusalem but want Israel to open full diplomatic missions in their respective capitals in return - a move which hasn't been forthcoming on Israel's part.

Other countries have requested developmental and economic aid from Israel, while also hoping such a move would open doors in the United Sates and have even asked Israel to help pay for the relocation to Jerusalem. In these cases, too, there has been little to no Israeli follow-up, which has stalled progress on the matter.

4. Right in uproar over Netanyahu's Palestinian building plan - Jerusalem Post

The Israeli right is in an uproar over a KANN report that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu held a security cabinet meeting to promote a Palestinian building plan for Area C in advance of a visit by US envoy Jared Kushner.

"If it's true that this is an American demand, then we expect our government to say loud and clear - enough!" Gush Etzion Regional Council head Shlomo Neeman said.

The prime minister "must stop the delusional demands of our great friend [US President Donald Trump]" who, if he is a friend, would understand.

Neeman called for the government to annex Area C of the West Bank, rather than paving the way for Palestinian development there.

5. Iran forces warned off UK warship during tanker seizure - audio - Times of Israel

ranian forces warned a British warship's crew against putting their "life in danger" during the seizure of a tanker this month, in a new recording of the incident released Monday.

The audio message was accompanied by aerial video footage of a warship thought to be the HMS Montrose, which the UK defense ministry says has now been joined in Gulf waters by another warship, the HMS Duncan.

Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps seized the British-flagged tanker Stena Impero on July 19.

"British warship Foxtrot 236, this is Sepah navy patrol boat: you are required not to interfere in this issue," an Iranian naval officer can be heard saying in the recording aired on state TV.

An officer on board the warship responds: "This is British warship Foxtrot 236: I am in vicinity of an internationally recognized strait with a merchant vessel in my vicinity conducting transit passage."

The Iranian officer replies: "British warship Foxtrot 236, this is Sepah navy patrol boat: don't put your life in danger."

1. Gilroy Garlic Festival shooter identified as Santino William Legan as police work to find motive - Fox News

The gunman who killed three people at a Northern California food festival Sunday night turned and fired his "AK-47-type assault rifle" at responding officers before being fatally wounded, police say, as they continue investigating what may have led Santino William Legan to carry out the horrific assault.

Gilroy Chief of Police Scot Smithee told reporters Monday afternoon the attack at the Gilroy Garlic Festival resulted in the deaths of a male in his 20s, a 13-year-old female and a 6-year-old child.

"Despite the fact that they were outgunned with their handguns against a rifle, those three officers were able to fatally wound that suspect," Smithee said, describing how officers among those already at the event to provide security engaged the gunman less than a minute after the first shots rang out.

"It could have gotten so much worse, so fast," he added. (Read more)

- Father, we ask for comfort for the families affected by this tragedy. Thank You, Lord that the police reacted quickly and stopped him before it became worse. May Your Spirit take opportunity to touch hearts at this time.

- "O Lord, revive Your work in the midst of the years! In the midst of the years make it known; in wrath remember mercy." (Habakkuk 3:2)

2. Trump considering labeling antifa a terrorist organization - The Hill

President Trump declared Saturday he is considering labeling the militant anti-fascist movement antifa a terrorist organization.

"Consideration is being given to declaring ANTIFA, the gutless Radical Left Wack Jobs who go around hitting (only non-fighters) people over the heads with baseball bats, a major Organization of Terror (along with MS-13 & others)," Trump tweeted Saturday. "Would make it easier for police to do their job!"

The announcement is red meat to the president's conservative base that has railed against what it sees as a growing liberal threat to its free speech led by antifa.

The anti-fascist movement has gained notoriety as supporters donning black costumes have engaged conservative activists in confrontations that have sometimes devolved into violent clashes.

Antifa most recently drew headlines after conservative journalist Andy Ngo was bloodied during a confrontation with militant protesters in Portland, Ore.

Trump's announcement comes just days after GOP Sens. Bill Cassidy (La.) and Ted Cruz (Texas) introduced a nonbinding resolution that would label antifa activists as "domestic terrorists." (Read more)

- Lord we thank You for this hope of having this radical group designated as domestic terrorists. We ask that it be made so.

- "He will redeem their life from oppression and violence." (Psalm 72:14)

3. Dan Coats to resign as director of national intelligence; Trump selects Rep. John Ratcliffe as replacement - Fox News

President Trump on Sunday announced that Texas GOP Rep. John Ratcliffe, a staunch White House ally, will replace Dan Coats as director of national intelligence (DNI), following months of speculation and public spats between the president and the intelligence community. The move prompted immediate outrage from many top Democrats who accused the president of seeking to appoint a blindly loyal yes-man to the key post.

A source close to the matter told Fox News that Coats never saw his 2017 appointment as a long-term proposition. Ratcliffe has been well-versed in the intelligence community after driving key sections of ongoing Republican-led probes into apparent Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) abuses by the FBI and Justice Department, Fox News is told.

Coats submitted his letter of resignation to President Trump on Sunday. Part of it read: "The Intelligence Community is stronger than ever, and increasingly well prepared to meet new challenges and opportunities. As we have previously discussed, I believe it is time for me to move on to the next chapter of my life." (Read more)

- Lord, we pray that this new appointment will bring life and light into the darker regions of the US intelligence community. We ask for wisdom and righteousness for Senator Ratcliffe as he assumes his new role in the Trump administration.

- "All the words of my mouth are with righteousness, nothing crooked or perverse is in them." (Proverbs 8:8)

4. Barack Obama populated the US government with communists - LifeSite News

Late in May, Rush Limbaugh repeated a quote from James Comey in a New York Magazine interview: 'I'd moved from communist to whatever I am now. I'm not even sure how to characterize myself politically. Maybe at some point, I'll have to figure it out.'

It's hard to pin too much on that quote. Perhaps Comey was joking by calling his vote for Jimmy Carter a vote for a communist, in mockery of his supposedly fellow Republicans.

Joking about support for communism is not all that funny in the Obama administration. Obama's CIA director, John Brennan, actually did vote for a communist presidential candidate. Brennan and Comey are two of the central players in the Russia Collusion Hoax.

Obama chose communists and Marxists for the highest, most powerful positions in our land, including his closest political advisers and his head of the CIA. These facts are not in dispute. Most are openly admitted by the people in question, as necessary damage control. Our press chooses not to report them.

Professor Paul Kengor has extensively researched the Chicago communists whose progeny include David Axelrod, Valerie Jarrett, and Barack Hussein Obama. Add the openly Marxist, pro-communist Ayers, and you have many of the key players who put Obama into power. (Read more)

- Lord, we have known for some time that there are people from the former administration that were working against America and our values. We pray for a move of repentance and truth from Your Holy Spirit to touch every one of these deep state operatives, in Your name, amen.

- "From Your precepts I get understanding; therefore I hate every false way."
(Psalm 119:104)

5. Russia detains more than 1,000 people in opposition crackdown - Reuters

Russian police rounded up more than 1,000 people in Moscow on Saturday in one of the biggest crackdowns of recent years against an increasingly defiant opposition decrying President Vladimir Putin's tight grip on power.

The detentions came around a protest to demand that opposition members be allowed to run in a local election. Authorities had declared it illegal and sought to block participation, but thousands of people turned up anyway in one of the longest and most determined protests of recent times.

Chants of "Russia without Putin" and "Putin resign" echoed through central Moscow as guardsmen clad in riot gear beat back protesters with batons and roughly detained people. (Read more)

- Father, we pray for the people of Russia, that the grip of tyrannical leadership will be broken.

- "Blessed is the man whom You instruct, O Lord, and teach out of Your law, that You may give him rest from the days of adversity." (Psalm 94:12,13a)

6. Resolution Opposing Israel Boycott Passes with Huge Bipartisan Support as Omar, Tlaib and AOC Oppose It - Western Journal

The House on Tuesday overwhelmingly approved a resolution opposing an effort to boycott Israel and its supporters.

Three of the progressive House Democrats who have dubbed themselves "the squad" voted against the resolution - Democratic Reps. Ilhan Omar of Minnesota, Rashida Tlaib of Michigan and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York. The fourth, Democratic Rep. Ayanna Pressley of Massachusetts, supported the measure.

The vote was 398-17. Republican Rep. Thomas Massie of Kentucky was the only Republican to oppose it. Rep. Justin Amash of Michigan, a former Republican who now considers himself an independent, was among five members voting "present," Fox News reported.

The resolution opposes the pro-Palestinian Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions movement, which seeks to target American companies that do business with Israel. Tlaib attacked the resolution, The New York Times reported. (Read more)

- Father, we thank You that this pro-Israeli resolution passed. But we once again ask that those who hate Your people be removed from our Congress.

- "Behold the eyes of the Lord are on the sinful kingdom." (Amos 9:8a)

7. Iran intends to restart activities at Arak heavy water nuclear reactor: ISNA news agency - Reuters

The head of Iran's Atomic Energy Organization, Ali Akbar Salehi, told lawmakers on Sunday that Iran will restart activities at the Arak heavy water nuclear reactor, the ISNA news agency reported.

ISNA cited a member of parliament who attended the meeting. Heavy water can be employed in reactors to produce plutonium, a fuel used in nuclear warheads. Iran stopped complying in May with some commitments in the 2015 nuclear deal that was agreed with global powers, after the United States unilaterally withdrew from the accord in 2018 and re-introduced sanctions on Tehran.

The remaining signatories have tried to hold the nuclear deal together, an increasingly difficult task as tensions between Washington and Tehran have soared in recent weeks. (Read more)

- Lord, we stand against all fear from this news item, and declare that every move Iran attempts to make with regard to nuclear bombs will be thwarted.

- "No weapon formed against you shall prosper." (Isaiah 54:17)

8. Snatched! Government 'illegally' takes child from parents - WND

The Texas Home School Coalition Association has launched a petition drive and a fundraiser to help return 4-year-old Drake Pardo to his parents.

The group contends the child was "illegally taken" from his family by Child Protective Services on June 20. The family was given no explanation when the boy was seized, and CPS agents refused to answer their questions. The agents simply showed up at the family's home, accompanied by armed officers, and demanded the child.

THSC attorney Chris Branson, representing the family, said Children's Medical Center in Dallas reported the family to CPS after the family filed a complaint against the hospital claiming Drake received poor treatment. The family claimed that one of Drake's doctors refused to visit the boy while he was admitted to the hospital. "Children's informed the family that they would review the matter and resolve it within 45 days.

On day 46, with the family still having heard nothing from the Children's Medical Center, CPS showed up at the family's door with an affidavit signed by one of the hospital's doctors and removed Drake," the homeschool group said. CPS claimed there was an "emergency" health issue regarding Drake, signed by a Children's Medical Center physician, Dr. Dakil. (Read more)

- Lord, we pray for this family and all others who have been victims of CPS across the country. We ask full restoration and justice.

- "The Lord is righteous; He has cut in pieces the cords of the wicked." (Psalm 129:4)

9. Off-duty NYPD officer dies of self-inflicted gunshot wound: police - Fox News

[Editor's note: This story discusses suicide. If you or someone you know is having thoughts of suicide, please contact the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-TALK (8255).]

An off-duty New York City police officer was found dead Saturday afternoon of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, NYPD Chief of Department Terence Monahan said Saturday.

The officer's colleagues found him dead in his Staten Island home around 2 p.m., law enforcement sources told Fox News. They were concerned when he didn't show up for work and had gone to check on him. The NYPD Sergeants Benevolent Association tweeted that the officer was a sergeant, but did not give any other details.

"The NYPD mourns the loss of one of NY's Finest who died by suicide today," Monahan tweeted. "We must continue to stand together, look out for one another & support our fellow cops during this tragedy. Help is always available-within the department or on the outside. You're never alone." (Read more)

- Lord, as so many of our law enforcement officers are giving up in the face of deep opposition and danger, we ask that You move upon all of them to know You, to know that You are the God who cares.

- "Because He has inclined His ear to me, therefore I will call upon Him as long as I live." (Psalm 116:2)

10. Well-known Christian author, purity advocate, renounces his faith: 'I hope you can forgive me'- Fox News

Author Joshua Harris, after announcing the end of his marriage, is now kissing his faith goodbye. Harris, the author of the best-seller "I Kissed Dating Goodbye," a book he authored in 1997 that he later renounced after shaping purity culture for many millennial believers, revealed that he is stepping back from his faith. In an Instagram post, he also apologized for his previously held views, including "bigotry" to the LGBTQ community.

The information that was left out of our announcement is that I have undergone a massive shift in regard to my faith in Jesus," Harris wrote. "By all the measurements that I have for defining a Christian," he added, "I am not a Christian."

"The former pastor of Covenant Life Church in Gaithersburg, Md., recounted several things he has apologized for in the past: "my self-righteousness, my fear-based approach to life, the teaching of my books, my views of women in the church, and my approach to parenting to name a few. (View the video and read more here)

- Father, we lift this former Pastor before You and ask that You cause him to truly repent, and bring him into a personal relationship with You. Let all deceptions of his mind be destroyed.

- "Therefore let him who thinks he stands take heed that he does not fall."
(1 Cor 10:12)

11. Ginsburg Praises Kavanaugh, Gorsuch: 'Very Decent and Very Smart' - Newsmax

Supreme Court Associate Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg praised fellow Justices Brett Kavanaugh and Neil Gorsuch as "very decent and very smart individuals," CNN reports.

Ginsburg, at an event hosted by Duke Law in Washington, D.C., on Wednesday, said in response to a question, "I can say that my two newest colleagues are very decent and very smart individuals."

The Justice previously told NPR that the nine members of the Supreme Court work well together. She also noted that Gorsuch and Kavanaugh were both law clerks during her initial years, and that she assigned each one of them important opinions in which she was the senior justice in the majority. (Read more)

- Lord, we thank You that Justice Ginsburg recognized the good qualities in the newest members of the court. We ask that if this is a point of light in her thoughts, You would widen it and cause her to repent so that her heart would be transformed.

- "I will put My Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do them." (Ezekiel 36:27)

12. The woman who was next in line to be Puerto Rico's governor doesn't want the job - CNN

The woman next in line to become governor of Puerto Rico after Ricardo Rossello resigned last week says she has zero interest in the job. Wanda Vázquez Garced, the secretary of justice for the US territory, was expected to replace the governor. The order of succession says the secretary of state should be next in line, but the man holding that position resigned this month after he was ensnared in the same text scandal that brought down the governor. Rossello's resignation goes into effect Friday -- and Vázquez wants officials to appoint a new secretary of state to take over as governor. (Read more)

- Father God, as we lift up the good people of Puerto Rico with this latest crisis, we thank You that You will make a way for them. We recall the suffering they endured last fall at the wrath of Hurricane Maria, when 5,740 deaths were attributable to the storm. Let their season of travail come to an end, dear Lord, and help their officials to choose wisely the next one to govern the territory of Puerto Rico. Amen.

- "But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him." (James 1:5)

Can you be both Patriot and Christian?

There is much debate within the Christian community about whether the Founding Fathers were Christian or if their legacy has been a carefully crafted lie. Some now say that America was not formed up by Christians and did not reflect a nation founded in the name of Christ. In 2011 for example, Filmmaker Chris Pinto appeared on radio and television shows lambasting David Barton of Wallbuilders for misleading Christian Americans about the foundation of Christ as the cornerstone of this nation. While I am not a historian, it is of interest to me. It is a fact that this United States of America had predominantly Christian roots at its founding and its laws are based on the laws of the Bible.

The land was claimed in covenant with God to advance the Christian faith over 150 years BEFORE the Declaration of Independence. In1565, the Protestant French Huguenots, who came to what is now Florida to escape persecution, were martyred by Catholic Spanish troops. The 1606 Jamestown Charter from King James stated ". . . in propagating of Christian Religion to such People, as yet live in Darkness and miserable Ignorance of the true Knowledge and Worship of God, and may in time bring the Infidels and Savages, living in those Parts, to human Civility, and to a settled and quiet Government." The Mayflower Compact 16 years later proclaimed: "Having undertaken, for the glory of God, and advancement of the Christian faith, and honor of our King and Country, a voyage to plant the first colony in the northern parts of Virginia."
The Founding Fathers of the United States of America may not all have been Christians. They knew, however, that the Holy Scriptures contained in the Bible were the basis for all law. They unabashedly based the formation of the nation upon the laws of the God of the Bible. One can find Biblical principles throughout the Declaration and the Constitution. On January 10, 1963, Florida Congressman A.S. Herlong, Jr. read into the Congressional Record the 45 stated goals of communism from "The Naked Communist" by Cleon Skousen. Numbers 27-30 stated: "27. Infiltrate the churches and replace revealed religion with "social" religion. Discredit the Bible and emphasize the need for intellectual maturity, which does not need a "religious crutch."
28. Eliminate prayer or any phase of religious expression in the schools on the ground that it violates the principle of "separation of church and state." 29. Discredit the American Constitution by calling it inadequate, old-fashioned, out of step with modern needs, a hindrance to cooperation between nations on a worldwide basis. 30. Discredit the American Founding Fathers. Present them as selfish aristocrats who had no concern for the "common man."" Jesus said in Matthew 24:4, "Take heed that no man deceive you." Those trying to say that because the Founders were not necessarily Christian, our nation is inherently evil are liars and deceivers. Rest assured that God was in control of forming this nation for His good purpose. You can be both a patriot and a Christian-the freedom of one confirms the other.

Have a blessed and powerful day,

BLESSED ASSURANCE

"Let us draw near to God with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith." (Hebrews 10:21-22)

Lyrics

Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine;
Oh, what a foretaste of glory divine!
Heir of salvation, purchase of God,
Born of His Spirit, washed in His blood.

This is my story, this is my song,
Praising my Savior all the day long.
This is my story, this is my song,
Praising my Savior all the day long.

Perfect submission, perfect delight,
Visions of rapture now burst on my sight;
Angels descending, bring from above
Echoes of mercy, whispers of love.

Perfect submission, all is at rest,
I in my Savior am happy and blest;
Watching and waiting, looking above,
Filled with His goodness, lost in His love.

Mexico volcano eruption: Locals told to prepare to evacuate as Popocatépetl erupts twice

The volcano known as Popocatépetl, or more colloquially Popo, has been active over the past week, spewing ash into the air on several occasions. On July 25, it erupted two times, prompting officials to warn the public to get ready for an evacuation. One of the explosions was so powerful it shot debris up to 3,300 feet (1,000 metres), into the air, with the ash dispersed in a southwestern direction.

As a result, Mexico's National Center for Disaster Prevention (CENAPRED) said people should steer clear of the volcano, as landslides and fragments of flying rock remain a danger.

A statement from the governmental organisation detailed the activity around Popo.

The statement read: "In the last 24 hours, through the monitoring systems of the Popocatepetl volcano, 163 exhalations were identified, accompanied by water vapour, gas and light amounts of ash.

"In addition, two minor explosions were recorded yesterday at 1:37 pm and 1:46 pm, as well as a moderate explosion yesterday at 7:23 pm, which reached an approximate height of 1000 m, with moderate ash content and dispersed in a southwest direction.

"CENAPRED urges people NOT to APPROACH the volcano and especially the crater because of the danger of ballistic fragments."

CENAPRED said the warning level is at "yellow phase 2", which means there is no imminent danger, but it does mean a 12 kilometre safety radius has been imposed.

Officials at CENAPRED also say they have discovered the formation of a new dome for lava to escape from inside El Popo.

CENAPRED said: "During this flight, thermal images and photographs were obtained that allowed us to identify the presence of a new dome and that the internal crater maintained its dimensions."

At 5,426 metres tall, Popo, which is some 44 miles (70km) away from the capital Mexico City, is the second largest volcano in North America, but experts say that it does not pose a huge threat to locals due to its usually dormant nature.

Last year, Popo erupted for the first time since 2000 when ash was propelled a staggering 10,000 feet (3km) into the sky.

Since then, there have been several eruptions.

Free Speech Victory: Court Sides with Professor Fired for Expressing Conservative Views in the Classroom

Professor Eric Thompson taught at Moreno Valley College since 2005 and twice received the "Faculty of the Year Award," an honor voted on by students. He often challenged his students in his sociology courses to defend their positions on topics like marriage, gender roles, and sexual orientation. A necessary part of his classes involved exposing his students to multiple views on topics like the origins of same-sex attraction.

In 2014, several students and colleagues complained that Thompson was harming students by exposing them to the view that same-sex attraction might stem from environmental factors rather than a person's biology. The community college subsequently investigated Thompson three times and, although the investigations concluded that no violation of District Policy or Administrative Procedure occurred, labeled Thompson's actions "unprofessional." After multiple hearings, the college put Thompson on paid leave in 2016 and fired him in 2017 for conducting "dangerous" and "immoral" discussions.
Pacific Justice Institute (PJI) attorney Michael Peffer represented Thompson through a grueling arbitration process in 2018, which resulted in the reversal of Thompson's termination.

On July 9, 2019, the Judge upheld the Arbitrator's finding that the District's termination of Thompson was not warranted. The Judge's ruling concluded with the Arbitrator's statement: "Reaching a determination as to what is acceptable academic speech can well be subtle and 'difficult' [and] should not be prohibit[ed] simply because society finds it offensive or disagreeable."

"The District believes that any discussion of the traditional notions of family are, or should be illegal," commented Peffer. "Two judicial officers have now concluded the District is wrong."

Brad Dacus, Founder and President of PJI, said, "We are encouraged by this court's decision to protect Professor Thompson's voice of reason from being squelched out of the classroom. Our legal team is on the battleground of college campuses to protect the First Amendment rights of teachers and students." (Breaking Christian News) Read more.

- Father, we are so encouraged by this court's decision to uphold this professor's freedom of speech on this campus. We pray that this ruling would serve as a precedent in every similar case in days to come. In Your Name, Amen.

- But let justice roll on like a river, righteousness like a never-failing stream! (Amos 5:24)
